Very clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful when we needed a ladder. Good ice cream at gals place right at the campground. We particularly liked the path connecting the campground with Grass point state park which has a beach.Highly recommend this place.Thnks Ray and Patty!!!
Overall a very Nice campground , grounds are meticulously kept and very very clean. Sites are Very level gravel spots. One bathroom and bathhouse also spotless. Only drawback , sites are small and your fire pit is pretty much on top of your neighbors sewer line not all of them but a few , we did ask to move our fire pit and they did let us move it over a bit from it but they really should move them to the front of the sites and not keep them in the back where the sewer lines are. There is a small playground for the kids but no pool. There is a path you can walk to Grassy Point State Park where there is a more elaborate playground and a beach as well and its a very clean state park so that was nice. The owners ( I think they were the owners) Very Nice people. Over all it served the purpose we had which was visiting Alex Bay and Boldt castle. And we only stayed 3 nights . I gave it 4 stars as they really need to move all fire pits to the front of the sites. But other than that very quiet and sweet campground.
Very nice campground. Everything can be done online so you dont need to talk to anyone. It is central to a lot of places in the Wellesley Island/Alexandria Bay area.We had full hookups so didnt have to use the facilities but they seemed decent. There were cabins and tents that looked well maintained. There is a small food/ice cream shop right at the entrance but go on an off time. They were very busy after dinner when we wanted ice cream!Owner is very nice. They have firewood for sale right there as well. We had cell service for AT&T and Verizon.
Have come here the past few years . This year had a problem with some really loud people. And was no way to get a gold of anyone emailed then , finally had to call the cops to get them to stop partying. I will still be back but really hope they get a better system for a patrol at night .
I had lost my brother unexpectedly, we as a family booked in September 2020 to mourn. My other brother who was battling cancer went. The management was so awesome. We moved the fire ring to give him a camp fire. He couldnt walk good. They allowed it only because they knew he was dying. All weekend they went above and beyond checking on us. We lost him in April of this year. This was our second brother we lost in a year. I cant thank them enough for all the kindness. You gave us a memory we will never forget.. Its places and management like this that you want to stay at.
Picked this place last minute and very unhappy with what they offer in the campground and with their customer service. I had to leave for a work emergency and they denied partial or full refund. It seemed like a gimmick, they wouldn’t answer the phones and when we got an reply they passed it on to someone else like the manager then the owner and so on. This was definitely the worst camping experience I’ve ever had. They don’t offer any events onsite, pick another campsite because these guys definitely are not caring for customers. We are army employee from fort drum and believe me this place is the worst one you can pick around a beautiful area.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. This campsite is not a PLACE I WOULD GO BACK! They practically robbed us. We told them we would only be staying ONE night and charged us for TWO!! And refuse to give us a refund on the second night that we didn’t even stay or use! DO NOT GO THERE!
Tell them rv not running from beginning of season. Told them to cancel reservation till rv running. Then they steal charge credit card. Tell you about cancel policy. When I told them when they billed me prior. 1300.00 theft stay away excuse I did not tell them. Hard up short season. Run any other place. Happy camping. Get ready for the excuses. The reviews speak for themselves.
Nice campground in a great location. Minimal amenities, but has nice and clean bathrooms with showers and a store at the front. Playground as well. Has sites with sewer and without. Offers cabins and yurts. Short walk to the nearby state park with a public beach and boat launch. 10min to A-Bay and less to Clayton, both which offer food and shopping. Plenty of room for your boat, if needed. Owners and staff are friendly. Ice cream shop next to the store. No pool. Inexpensive.
The restrooms were very nice, and the showers were clean. The sites are SMALL. I mean TINY. If you’re going with a tent, make sure to stay in the tent area. I was not in the tent area but was assured my site was good for tents. Thankfully, the site next to us was empty so we had some breathing room. If we had neighbors, I would have left. Water and electric is nice to have when camping, but this really isn’t a campground. It’s an RV park with zero privacy.
We reserved the biggest lot there, as we were camping with family and friends. Enough for 24 people. Only to get there and see we only had two parking spots. The gentlemen whom had a spot across from us, was not camping there that weekend, so we were told we could park there, but the point is there should be more parking for a lot that accommodates that many people. Nice spot. Water is about 1/4 mile from the campground. Animals do rummage around, so make sure you put items away as with any campground. All in all, enjoyed our stay.
We camp twice a year here. Our 5th wheels are big snd the owners are friendly and accommodating. Campers friendly, campground has lots to offer with a store onsite with Gal’s Famous Ice Cream which is a treat snd a must have. If you forgot anything…you can find it at the store from Cold cuts that are awesome to dried fruits and candy. My husband is a great contributor. He loves their candy! You can walk the trails to Grassy Point to the River. Close to town too!
The campgrounds were clean and surprisingly quiet. Also the bathrooms were well kept and the showers were hot. Thank you Scott for all your help getting set up. you went out of your way to help us out and you dont see that very often anymore. Thank you very much. I will stay here again when Im in the area. Theres also a bonus if you stay here... If you like ice cream that is. Come stay and find out you wont regret it
Great facility. Clean and well kept. Our tent site was perfect and the campground hosts were great. Pet friendly was a plus too.Pro-tip - Bring your own toilet paper. The stuff in the restrooms is so thin you could still read a newspaper through five layers of it. Also, asking fellow campers which hand they wipe with before shaking hands is apparently not socially acceptable. Better just to skip the handshakes.
When we arrived they had given away our space Debbie had paid for in advance! Then we got Sean an extremely small little area which was not going to happen as far as we were concerned. The own er listen to us and helped us to get a much better spot for our tent. He even had to hook us up with electricity because it didnt have anywhere he took us. It all turned out great. So what I guess Im saying is he redeemed himself.
Stayed one night. It was FANTASTIC! Reasonable rates, VERY accommodating, super friendly, and clean! It rained a little, and the ground was wet, but it is after all a campground! We had a blast, and so did our pup! I highly recommend this place. TJ and the young woman at the office were very nice, and made some recommendations on the vs to check out in the area. We will definitely be back!
The true test of service is when problems arise. My wife and I were scheduled to visit Thousand Islands camp when we suffered a damage accident with our motor home. Having so many things racing through my mind I almost forgot to start canceling our reservations. When I was finally able to speak with Maddie she could not have been more understanding. With her help and kindness we were able to receive our refund which helped enormously in cutting our loses. I cannot wait to reschedule our visit to Alexandria Bay and Thousand Is campground so I might thank Maddie and her wonderful staff in person.Lawrence Giangrande 😊❤️
The campground is run by a cute older couple that are very helpful and nice. They have a pirate theme going through the grounds and have a nice playground for kids. They have lots of spaces for RVs, tents and campers, and have warm bathrooms and even showers for tent campers. The showers wet a little worse for wear when I was there, but still functional and had plenty of hot water; enough for two showers.
Rented a site there two months ago and when we got there they told us they over booked and gave our cite to someone else and that we could have a different site, when we saw what site they put us at it was covered in mud and small when I told them I wanted our site they said they can’t do make that happen. Was not able to get a refund so instead of going home we rented elsewhere which was much better. Would not recommended this place.
-Spent 4 Days tent camping while my in laws were on a back in site. The prices were better than anywhere in the area.-The staff was very helpful getting us close together and were there for everything we needed. They helped our family in planning our island tour and recommend excellent restaurants.-The showers were awesome. Clean and well maintained. We’ve stayed here years ago and were unipressed but thought to give it another chance after hearing of all the changes. In my opinion the new owners have really turned this Campground around into a great place to stay at a great price. We will be back for sure.
Reasonable rates, and close to towns of interest, but pretty cluttered & junky perm trailers abound. Staff were helpful. Best recommendation to the owners would be to tidy up all the old machinery & the like dumped around, plus enforce some standards of presentation for their perm residents.
The campground was nice. We had a cabin that looked nice online. Once there found that outside area around cabin in very bad disrepair. Broken grill and gazebo top broken and hanging down on top of deck and seating area. Had been this way for a while. Inside the chairs were broken and unusable. The bunk beds had only one mattress and the other a box spring wrapped in a fitted sheet. Mattress on bed was horrible so I slept on the fouton.
My family and I recently stayed at 1000 Island Campground. The campground itself is very well maintained, and the staff is very pleasant. Our site had full hookups, and there is wifi available thats strong enough to stream with. The onsite store has many of the things you may need, as well as plenty of candy and an awesome ice cream shop. I absolutely recommend staying here!
We had a great time! The campground was very peaceful and laid back (VERY surprising for a 4th of July weekend at any campground, IMO). The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. The owner and hosts were awesome, wicked helpful and friendly! Starting with when I booked our site online back in May, the owner immediately called me saying he hated the site we booked (63) because its small, it was fine for us and our teenage daughter who barely left the camper lol. He offered us his spot, a partial refund, or a chance to change if someone cancelled, but like I said, we were fine with it. And ending with the host chatting with us and helping us dump and rinse our tanks before we set off (we needed a longer hose to rinse out). We will definitely try to make it back in the future, the only thing I wish they had was a pool, but there is a state park right through the woods for swimming.Thanx for helping us make more great memories!
Without any barrier control at the entrance, this small campsite should not be difficult to manage. Still, we had booked 3 lots near each other for 2 nights, and the management found a way to rent the land to a guest who wanted to extend one night! Yet we booked in March, and we paid 100% of the bill: this is not ethical .. With difficulty, the management has managed to relocate in an area where WiFi does not surrender.Although the campsite is located near the main road, traffic is tolerable. The grounds are clean and grassed. Unfortunately, the ground is soft in many places, and rollers make it more difficult to upgrade your trailer / RV. The positioning of the sewer pipe is generally poorly located because it is too close to the neighbors location, so you may end up with the neighbors return pipe near your picnic table. Lets talk about these tables, at the time of staying, the tables were rotten (see photo), the management had the idea to change some boards, and while leaving some bad boards! The colors of the playground equipment for children are faded (no maintenance for several years). The shower block has 2 mens showers / 2 womens showers. The showers are free, and you can control the temperature. Slender curtains serve as a door, so some guests lock the main door of the block, which means that there is only one shower per sex. Rust flows are present and the support bars are detached from the wall (see photo). I do not dare think how would have been the state of the pool if the campsite had had one.The main qualities of the campsite are its proximity to the region of Milles Isles, and grassy ground. This is a lot to take only if you stop for 1 night, and if you have a facility with all the amenities, even there, the $ 44US per night is too expensive. This land is suitable for the camper who does not absolutely want to camp in a rest area, or in a business type Flying J.

2021-07-26Very clean, excellent location, friendly staff, quiet campground. Great places to walk, the path to the state park is a huge plus. These folks really k ow how to take care of this campground and it shows. Love coming to freshly mowed sites with cleaned out fire pits. The sites are a littletight but that is everywhere these days. Great place for your thousand islands adventures.

2021-08-07Super clean and well maintained. RV sites are fairly small and close. Not the most privacy, but everyone was super friendly (staff and campers). We chose here because it was not crazy expensive and didnt need all the fancy amenities of a resort type facility. Bathrooms and showers were cleaned constantly. Convenient store at the entrance with great sandwiches, baked goods (pies!!), and ice cream.

2021-09-12Fabulous campground and hosts. Extremely accommodating, very friendly and remarkable at their attention to details. Nicest and cleanest bathrooms Ive experienced at campgrounds. Our tent camping site was large, surrounded by scrub trees and private.

2021-07-18Very nice campground, Hopefully you won’t experience rude people playing music loudly on their speakers after “quiet time” , but if you do , alert the campground host and they are quick to respond. Great place for kids, even better place for anglers, like my husband and son. Located conveniently to St. Lawrence River. Highly recommended.
