What a great space! This studio gallery is a feather in Uticas cap.First of all, the building is old with a lot of funky character. The space is large and art work surrounds you. The studio founder, Vartan, is welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable, but never pretentious. I know nothing about art, but found the art and the space to be fascinating.A really cool place thats worth checking out.

An installation of culture, art & community right in the heart of Utica! 4 Elements is more than just an art gallery, it’s an art experience. Mohawk Valley is very lucky to have such a place akin to NYC-class galleries, openings & classes! No need to travel out of town now, everything you’re looking for is all in one space. When visiting Utica I always make sure to tour the gallery, take a class or make it to an opening. The quality of art is very impressive, refreshing and inspiring.

A beautiful gem tucked into a unique and historic downtown Utica building. Easy to find parking close by the entrance. Going up the steps to enter the gallery harckened me back to my parochial school days. And upon entering I once again was a student soaking up the arts. Paintings, prints, ceramics, and sculptures of all types to view and purchase. Prices vary so there is something for all levels of art collectors. The active studio spaces and classes added to the fun experience. Truly worth exploring. Looking forward to visiting again.

4 Elements is so neat, one of a kind! Not only is it a studio where you can purchase amazing artwork by the extremely talented Vartan as well as other artists, but they also have various events held there to support the community and businesses such as Upstate Cerebral Palsy. In addition, myself along with some co-workers took a public speaking class there. If you are looking for unique pieces of art to decorate your home or give as a gift, then you need look no further. If you havent stopped in yet, you definitely should check it out!!!

This is a great facility and art center for the city of Utica. I have been a resident artist in this space for a few years and have always found it a welcoming and dynamic place. It is a unique space where artists have personal studios as well as wonderful communal spaces that are available for larger projects and shared resources, like a printing press and framing studio. The 4 Elements Gallery offers opportunities for the resident artists (and other local artists) to show our work. Large classroom facilities are available and artists offer courses for art students and art lovers of all ages and in various media. Thank you, Vartan, for your dedication in bringing Utica artists together. Please come see what 4 Elements Studios is all about-

I have the exact opposite reaction as the previous reviewer. The art gallery is located in an old catholic school - and the space exudes comfort - large windows let in tons of sunlight, old chalkboards are in every room, art is everywhere and everyplace. The space is a genuine experience. Not fancy. And the classes are likewise genuine. The 4 Elements instructors are just good teachers - amazing at their craft but also good at teaching it (not a common combination at all) - and just friendly.

One strange place. First off, the gallery is located in a very odd place. You go up the side of a alley in the back of a building. The stairs that one must climb are a workout. You will NOT find good art here. Freeky / strange prints..... paintings, and lots of ceramics. Not a good gallery by the least. Just strange. A place that would appeal to snobbish leftist artists. If you are a left wing radical and have poor taste in art, then this place is for you.
