Purchased a unit to have a clean and clear title. Over 6 months of fighting with their title specialists they are now saying there is nothing they can do because of how long ago the unit was sold. Will not refund nor unwind the auction. This company has multiple lawsuits pending and there will soon be an additional one. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY
I have been a transporter for over 10 years. I recently had back surgery and I also have a special needs daughter, that being said, I have canceled some loads due to my back surgery and my daughter needs. I asked if I could get back on the load board to get back some lost income and get back in business. They absolutely just blew me off entirely and won’t answer emails or phone calls. This do called PARTNER ship mentality they project is totally false they could care less about any of you including you dealers. Judging by all the negative reviews on here I see a sinking ship. Dealers beware of their green light yellow tricks.
Had a car with a trans issue, tried to flush fluid, then there was a TSB for TCM update to fix hard shift, had that performed. Over the course of these cheap fixes the car had to be road tested. Eventually it crossed the 300 mile threshold ACV allows, next time just going to arbitrate and immediately quote a transmission swap. Tried to be a nice guy and take proper steps before a major expense and ACV told me to go screw myself
Hasnt been good since our live appraisals was taken away. We lost it because of no sales. If you looked at our views on many of them you will see less than 10 people looking. Our vehicles will not sell like that. I dont feel its our fault I feel ACV has lost viewers. We will probably find another avenue. Thanks
Be Aware Dealers!!! Not an honest company will not disclose problems in condition report and sell you vehicle as green light at premium price, if you try the arbitration always come up with excuses, bought a green light car that has multiple leaks and issues. I hope this company goes out of business because of their bad business practices.
Absolutely terrible unethical business and business practices. Had a technical/online issue that was brought to a sales rep immediately and was told by MULTIPLE employees could have been rectified easily. Nothing was done and everyone gives us the run around saying it could be easily fixed but not by them. BEWARE as a buyer/small dealer as they have no consideration for them no matter how much business you have given/done with them. Payments and financial department is a joke, will try to block you for non payment or send multiple invoices for something that has been paid already. Many other online platforms that are better organized and run.
Arbitration rules are horrible and the worst in the business. The VCI’s are clueless and will tell you every niche, dent on the car cosmetically, but miss all of the mechanical issues. After getting an estimate for an ARB issue, they give you “their wholesale repair estimate”. You can’t find a shop on this planet to fix your car for their estimate price. They are the Judge and the Jury, so you can’t win. They are all about the sellers, while they do need the buyers, we are at the bottom and get shafted. Great platform to buy cars on ur couch, but proceed with caution boys
This Auction and its employees are a scam. I am car dealer who purchased around 5 cars within one week of me being a new member with Acv. I used my Ach account for the first 3 cars. I then had my floor plans set up. And asked for two cars to be put on my Afc account. They than emailed me asked me for my Afc account because i did not go through which was weird since i used it with a different auction and i worked just fine. They ended up charging my ach account for both cars i asked to floor which put my account in the negative. One payment of $25,000 was covered and the $18,500 bounced back since i did not cover it. They blocked my account right away and asked me to make payment.I called them. Told them you have both floor plans set up, next gear and afc chose one and charge the amount of the car. That was a huge mistake on there end. Another mess up was the first two titles were sent to a different address than I originally gave them to send titles out to. Its been one week and I have been dealing with fedex to fix their mistake again.Never will i buy a car or refer any other dealer to this auction. I suggest dealers use Manheim, carmax, Iaa, Americas, or backlotcars jus not this unprofessional auction.
I just wanted to share how horrible of a company of this is when it comes to a buyers perspective. Do not count on getting any help from there Arbitration, They will find a way to get out of it. I purchased a vehicle from them that was supposed to have been inspected by Acv, it has a horrid mold smell on the inside and mold present on the interior, which was not noted on the sale. It has a broken timing chain which was not noted on the sale, their inspector showed no codes present on his inspection. The rear of the vehicle does not have any shocks on it whatsoever, they’ve been removed, which also has no declarations on the sale of this vehicle for any of the items i listed here. I submitted it for Arbitration and of course they shut me down for a illegitimate reasons. This is the second vehicle I’ve been burned on from them. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY FROM YOU. SCAMMERS.
I had a terrible experience. (Will Milton )Arbitration only gave me 7 days on a 4th of july weekend to get a motor diagnosed from a Franchised Chevy Dealer. This was after i got it diagnosed by a local independent reputable repair shop that informed me that the motor had 60lb of compression on cyl 1 and 3, cyl 2 and 4 had 120lb and 140lb of compression. Water pump is dumping coolant. Radiator is leaking and right lower control arm is bent. I asked for extra time because the chevy dealer was 2 weeks out and they procceded to tell me they would be unable to help and to revisit section 2D of their policy. So due the their inspector not catching any of these problems im stuck with replacing $4800 in repairs
ACV goes above and beyond a lot, you have to do your due diligence and make sure you check the cars once you receive them, but ACV is one of the best auctions regarding acknowledging any issues and doing everything they can to help mitigate the process, I continue to be happy with them.
I have to say. ACV is the best place to buy. Been doing this a long time. There arbitration policy is great if u have any issues, delivery has been great. We been through like 4 acct managers over the years and Andy Patszalek is definitely by far the best and most efficient acct manager we have had. He always answers his phone if we need him and always gets backIf we need him. Thanks Andy for all the hard work. Volare Motors Cranston RI.ThanksPaul
I purchased 2014 Kia Sorento, As aRed Light, they announced has Transmission Codes… Audio shows engine was running Smoothly fine, but they put wrong car audio in it and predicted that it was this car audio, Ordered transportation thru Acv, 3 times driver went there for pickup location, they cancelled the order because car wasn’t running at all, than they sent 4th driver as a inop vehicle… it took longer than usual to get the vehicle, once driver came he say its inoperable car i was shocked, than i checked through several mechanics they said it has engine blowen head gaskets, It won’t run unless put the new motor in it.. than asked mechanic how much it will cost me to put the new motor… they quote me around $8,500 with parts and labor i paid $5,400 for it because they announced transmission problems… now i am suffering with bad motor… which costing me way more than what i paid for it.. than i contact arb and acv reps they sent me thrice Inspecter they took the pic and audio with no running car, they deleted audio when they sold me as a running vehicle…. After months they rejected…. This is my very very bad experience with Acv…. Before they were okay now they all team is changed and i am stuck with this suv…..i spoke with Territory Manager Several times, that they scammed me with this vehicle than he replied me that i will help you to get rid off from this suv and put me hold for 2 months, yesterday he texted sorry I tried my best but they acv had meetings for that issue but at the end they denied. I have been trying to patience for over 2 months know they denied. So i just want to acknowledge all of buyers be aware with red light cars.. if i knew it that it has engine problem but the hide and announced has transmission problem which i never paid more than $2,000 for this vehicle as they announced transmission problem thats why i paid $5,400 now stuck with it. And i also told them as you guys sold me this suv with transmission why don’t you guys help me to sell this suv with the same way i bought it. Than they replied sorry we can’t… i am very very disappointed with them..i gave them about over $250k Bussiness and now the screwed me badly. Just shame on Acv.AUCTION ID: 4881683
This wholesale auction is written BIG RED FLAG allover it, absolutely rubbish unethical business model, pure corporate greed and utter disregard for buyers/consumers, false CR reports to make you believe car is in great condition and you will pay top dollar trusting their CR report and will spend thousands of dollars for undisclosed problems while they hide behind arbitration policy. Stay as much away from this horrible unethical business.
TITLE DEPT is terrible. Not helpful at all. I have a NY title with lien letter which NJ DMV requires notary stamp but the title department kept telling me that I have to go to DMV first and get a rejection letter then they can contact to the seller and get it notarized. In the beginning they said the seller needs to see the rejection letter then they said ACV requires this letter which they did not ask for another car 2 weeks ago. These guys just making everything harder. They dont know anything.
BE AWARE!! I HAVE SPENT WELL OVER $200,000 WITH ACV AUCTION UP UNTIL TODAY AND THEY DONT APPRECIATE THE BUSINESS!! Every vehicle I arbitrate they give me issues knowing they are major problems somehow they make it to be the buyers issue!! I am very unsatisfied I pay a good amount for my vehicles out of my pocket and they dont cover major issues when arbitrate and make it seem like its a secondary issue!! Who wants to buy a green light car and spend another 3-10k to fix it? The reps dont understand they dont wanna help they just tell you they are sorry and they feel for you smh this company is not professional at all and they seem like they are bullying us into getting stuck with lemons and its not fair!! Just alone this month acv costed me 60k dollars I have every reason for them to not con me but they still do and I have no real answer to why they treat my business so poorly even though on record I purchased numerous cars with them!! and i am very dissatisfied with acv as a company worse they have no real rules every rule is to screw the buyer in the process!! I learned the hard way please be AWARE!!
They used to be awesome. Not sure whats happening over there, but its looking like I have to go back to Manheim. All the big dealers clear codes and sell as if its ok. Then I get it, have a transmission problem and have to wait 3 weeks -5 weeks while I go to the manufacturer dealer of the vehicle, get a diagnosis, send it to ACV, wait 3-4 more days for approval, and go back to the dealer to get it fixed.
Completely unprofessional. Title department is a complete joke. The reps make incentives for more sales and then dont keep their word. Dealing with their arbitration team is a nightmare and will make you wish you were at Manheim or Adesa everytime. At the beginning it seemed like they did care, but its clear now customer service is not valued at ACV. Of course there is demand for this product with the scarcity of inventory, but I hope a better company takes over their market.
SMALL DEALERS BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE FOR THE BIGGER DEALERS SELLING JUNK VIA THE ACV PLATFORM.Purchased a 2011 BMW GREEN LIGHT and the audio video shows the vehicle running. The vehicle was delivered to me INOPERABLE. I used their transportation carrier and the carrier informed me the vehicle was INOPERABLE when he picked it up and had to wrench it on his truck. And delivered the vehicle to me the same way / INOPERABLE. My mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined the ENGINE IS BLOWN. Had another Mechanic to diagnose the vehicle and determined Engine is blown!Cylinders have NO COMPRESSION! I’m OUT 4000.00Definitely contacting BBB and a Lawyer!!!Update filing a Civil Suit against ACV in Buffalo NY! They already have plenty of lawsuits against them!
We bought over 300 vehicles from acv made some friends and never had a problem I find it so interesting reading some of these negative reviews because we never had a problem I think we have been with acv for 4 years now and have seen many improvements.although prices are high like everything else like groceries and gas. But acv is a great platform for buying and selling 5 Stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
If you are trying to buy inventory with confidence you should try this company, they are doing a great job with the condition reports and even if you find something wrong with the vehicle after you received at your lot submitting an Arbitration is fast, simple and fair
I have been losing money week after week with acv! I paid for my vehicle and shipping through acv it took then 2 weeks to bring me the vehicle with a blown motor and bad catalytic converters on a car that costed me $9,000 I kept reassuring with transportation and arbitration that my arbitration timeline will expire they kept reassuring me I have 2 day after vehicle is dropped off...I get the vehicle and it was green light but had motor issue and plenty of other things and they tell me I cant do NOTHING BECAUSE I NEVER PAID FOR TRANSPORTATION ON THE APP?? I LOST 9,0000 DOLLARS AND IT TOOK U GUYS 2 WEEKS TO GET ME MY CAR AND IT WAS PAID THROUGH ACV FOR THE VEHICLE AND TRANSPORTATION...I AM COMPLAING TO BBB AND I WILL NOT LET THEM DO THIS TO US SMALL BUSINESSES OWNERS THEY ARE GETTING WORSE PLEASE BE AWARE YOU BUY A GREEN LIGHT CAR THEY WONT TRANSPORT THE CAR KNOWING THEY WILL TRY TO SCREW YOU EVERYWAY!! Auction I.D 4824477
ACV Auctions has the absolutely worst customer service ,their Arbitration department is nightmare, their title department worst than arb dept. always cant get in touch with the sellers.as soon as you buy the vehicle ,they take the money from your bank account and title is absent. most of the titles are late past 30 days..
I have been buying with ACV for several years. I buy almost exclusivley from them. The inspections are thorough. I had 100s of transactions from them and I only arbitrated 1 car with them ever. However it is on you to do your due dilligence in looking at all pictures, announcments and engine codes. You cannot arbitrate on announced issues. So generally you will not have issues if you bid smart. However if you come in at the last second and bid on something you have not looked at, thats on you. We are all 21 and grown. That being said there have lately been issues of incomplete reports, missing AMP recordings etc. With that said I personally dont bid on anything without an AMP recording.
Used to be a good auction but now I will give them zero star The arbitration used to be good customer service was excellent now zero on the top of that they have a ghost bid there auctioneer bid with the buyer since you don’t know who against your bid and they tried to XXXX the buyers UP ….
Their arbitration rules are the worst in the business. They find ways of getting out of arbitration instead of helping buyers. Their inspectors are not well versed on vehicle knowledge and miss things a lot. That can be expected but when you arbitrate an issue you expect some assistance. You cannot repair/replace your a/c for under $500. Yet they say you can. I say prove it to me. They say we dont have to. They Lie, Lie, Lie. As soon as this pandemic is over and the auctions are back up to their normal count of units I will be going back. Sure, I will pay more in fees but I know what I am buying and they back both the BUYER and THE SELLER. ACV Just like Backlot are strictly for the seller.
Always problem with new posted jobs, what if I need to make this route and I been waiting 3 days for this car? they giving you deal take it for 60-70C per mile which is a joke I think ! 2000$ miles for 1300$ really? I saw same car in few days with 1700-2000$ price, Logic they dont car about seller, buyer and transporter, they only think how to make money on transportation ! So if you can pay that much in few days give me deal today ill make it happen much faster then expected.. what is a plus ? ACV NAME as a good company with buyer, seller and transportation, you guys need to work on it ! this is the reason why you have that much cancelation.
HelloAs a transporter I want to share my experience with ACV. There are a lot of technical issues on their website, sometimes it even isnt giving us access to select a job that we need. If we request an order for pick up on weekends and they approve it, dealerships arent releasing orders and we loose 2 days till next business day for pick up and we also loose our rating on their website, which affects on new jobs. They post jobs by ratings for the companies and because of their technical or not professional workers issues, we cant do our job. They call us and cancel the orders, also dealers cant release cars because ACV isnt paying them their fees. When buyer is giving a company more thank 1k for a transportation and you are giving just $500 to carriers and arent adding even $50 its an injustice.
ACV Auctions has the absolutely worst customer service as soon as there is a problem. I purchased a vehicle on May 2, 2021 from ACV which had listed that the title was absent. Here we are on January 26, 2022 and still no title. Every time I call, I am either told that they will call me right back with an update or a different story on why the title is not in yet. The only time I have received a phone call has been asking why I haven’t been purchasing vehicles. My account rep has changed 3 times with Donovan being a totally rude, unprofessional and useless rep at some point. Now, 9, almost 10 months later I have a vehicle with no title and absolutely no assistance from ACV.Nothing has even been offered to assist in the process from ACV.I would completely stay away from this shady and unprofessional company known as ACV Auctions.#acvauctions #BBB #NYS #nysdmv #carauction #scam
Horrible title clerk Ericka Shaw. Been waiting on a title for 160 days and she sends contradicting messages to our account rep, who is very good, but we really cant sell cars when we cant get titles. She promises our rep she will reach out to us even at a specific phone number and does not follow through.
A “quick” summary:I listed a Jeep Grand Cherokee on a no reserve sale with ACV and was promised certain amount in proceeds. This vehicle was a green lighted listing and sold accordingly. The vehicle was picked up and then shipped to the seller as I sent the title and miscellaneous paperwork into ACV. A few days later I came into my dealership to find the same jeep sitting in front of our main building unlocked, with the windows down, with the keys tossed on the front seat and no delivery driver to be found. Not having any idea why the vehicle was back at my location, I called ACV and was told that the vehicle had been unwound. I had not been notified of the unwind and this vehicle was also sold under no reserve so I did not see how it could have been unwound. I reached back out to ACV and was told that the vehicle had been unwound because a repo affidavit had been included with the title, but this repo affidavit was not the last dealer assignment and was just paperwork that was included to show the appropriate trail between dealers. This repo affidavit had no bearing on whether the vehicle had a clean and transferable title that was free and clear. Furthermore, had I been made aware of a title issue, this title could have been returned to me and a new Kentucky title could have been printed at my local DMV without any repossession affidavit moving forward. I was never given this opportunity and as I understand it as as I read the master dealer agreement between our companies, I should have been given the opportunity to fix this very small title issue before the vehicle was unwound. Instead, your customer of 2 1/2 years, (me), is not notified whatsoever and the vehicle was just strewn upon my property with no regards to anything or anyone. Being a pretty easy-going person, I was OK with my sales rep telling me that I would still be made whole and the no reserve proceed number would not change and we would just relist the vehicle. A new VCI came out and now the green light jeep that left my property is now yellow lighted with multiple issues and sold for a lesser amount. It seems very shady for a greenlight vehicle to leave my property, be unwound without my knowledge, be shipped back to me without my knowledge, and then yellow lighted and sold for less money, resulting in me receiving invoice notification stating that I owe the difference now. Additionally, had I ever been notified whatsoever, besides fixing the title, if the vehicle still stayed unwound, I would have use my own transportation service to have the vehicle returned to my location. Instead this vehicle was scheduled for shipment and returned back to me without my knowledge or approval for the amount of shipping cost to be incurred. Now I am reminded of everything that I am told is great about ACV, especially every time I log into your site, which is almost daily, I see that trust and transparency is the number one thing your company prides itself on, nothing about this situation was trustworthy or transparent. The original purchasing dealers sales rep had enough pull to have a vehicle unwound without notifying anyone, again, not seen as trustworthy or transparent. People first is next, I was told by my sales rep that he would get this taken care of multiple months ago, and it sounds like no one from ACV is listening to him so no people first on that side. Positive experience is next, no real explanation needed and I doubt that I need to go any further.
Avc auction account manager phill very unprofessional and rude. i bought the car in 04/26/2022 after i send my transporter to pick up , dealership said they sell car to another auction . so im trying to get money since 05/23/2022 but no luck . they are not answering anything plus account manager who is name phill is not answering to my call , i called him 20 times but no answer.
Whoever just launched the new look of the platform obviously does not use it, extremely difficult to see, eyes hurt after a short time, prior to this so called UPGRADE it was a lot easier to see and pick cars, this is obviously a big DOWNGRADE and whoever initiated it and got it done both need to be fired! as they obviously do not use it otherwise it would never been done like that, great auction, horrible new platform.
Cars are not driven during inspection by ACV, only moved back and forth a few feet unlike more we’ll know auction houses that drive the car described in there CR. So 80 percent of cars have bad trans, transfer case, drive shaft, 4x4 in op, bad heads, bearing noise etc. Note these things won’t come up on a scanner. I gave 100k in cars in arbitration with them it takes 2 to 3 weeks to schedule appointments with new car dealerships! Then another 2 to 3 weeks to get the car retail ready! Mean time I pay interest on my floor plan storage to have the unit collect dust by the time all said and done 45 days past. If you don’t own a three bay shop stay away. Not to mention they are publicly traded these days and could care less about the customers only the investors dollars are important.
I purchased a 2015 f250 in November of 2020 through acv auctions and sold it January 2021 through acv auctions. In June of 2021 I was told by an account rep that this deal was being unwound because the vin plates had been changed and the vehicle was actually stolen. But, the unwind would go back to the original seller and not stop at me. Fast forward to Jan 2022, without notification I get $38k deducted from my ACH from recent sales and I’m told that it’s for the stolen truck. When I first spoke with my account reps i was told that this shouldn’t have happened and they were looking in to it and it was going to be fixed..weeks have gone by and now it’s impossible to get a call back or an answer. I don’t understand the arrogance and lack of concern from this company.
I’ve been doing business with ACV for over a year now and I have to say it’s been an amazing experience. Jacob Murray has been the manager that’s been helping me and he has gone above and beyond to make sure we are taken care! How he’s been conducting business has been the sole reason I am comfortable with every purchase! Overall ACV is an outstanding company that holds itself responsible when other auctions would never!
Great until they became popular, bought two vehicles recently and was told I was no longer allowed to arbitrate for a torn up convertible top on a BMW and a bad transmission on a Jeep Wrangler, both were green light and no mention of either issue. No one was helpful to resolve the issue. Wasnt even allowed to receive a phone number to contact the district manager in hopes to resolve this issue. After numerous phone call attempts, speaking to at least 5 different representatives and unanswered emails, I realized I was left stranded with these cars with no assistance in an arbitration. These are not my only issues throughoutthe year of useage, the list goes on. I will no longer use ACV, they are not out to help you with issues, they just want your money
Our team here at Oak Ridge Logistics loves working with the ACV transportation team. They are always professional and attentive. They go above and beyond to help us in any way they can and it makes the process of moving cars really easy! With ACV Transportation emails are answered promptly, phone calls always get taken and any problems are solved quickly. In an industry that is far from perfect the ACV Transportation team knows how to handle adversity, it is nice to work with a team that truly understands the way transportation works. I hope we can work together for years to come, it has really been a blessing.
Be very careful their condition reports are awful they miss and hide a lot of stuff and ACV Arbitration is getting very difficult to work with lately, the only reason Im still doing business with them is because they do have a variety of vehicles sometimes more than the physical auctions bottom line is they have to have better condition reports or at least be more truthful to your Buyers when listing Vehicles I know were human beings we miss stuff we all make mistakes but this has become a new norm for this Company and I have to always put more money into them for stuff they missed or hide.
Buyers be careful recently they are selling the cars with no titles and u will never get the titles doesn’t matter how long u wait recently I unwinded 5 cars with no titles and they don’t help with titles and every Time u call them they tells me they can’t make no contact with seller all they offer u to unwind the car Acv getting worst and worst they have no control over their business.
I own a car dealership and I’ve been buying from ACV Auction for about five years now. Ive bought well over 1000 units from them, and every time I’ve had a problem they’ve always stepped up and made it right.Their business plan is based on transparency and because of their transparency I trust them with my business. They are the best Online Auction in the business. There are no online auctions even close to their integrity.I will always be a business partner with this company because I know what to expect from them…loyalty.
I needed help with getting a lost title and Emily from the title department really came through and got results for me, always kept me in the loop and aware of the progress through text and email, also my ACV representative Andy was also extremely helpful in this matter, hats off to both of you and thanks so much.
Purchased a vehicle with a bad motor that was not disclosed on a green light vehicle with guarantee. Due to not using their transportation service they did not honor the arbitration. This is in the fine print of the contract but was not mentioned to me by sales rep when I asked if their is any issue using my own transport service.UPDATE: social media team reached out to me, still didnt cover the motor but they did give me a credit of $500 towards the repair as a good faith effort.Overall the platform is excellent and I will be a long term customer for sure. This was frustrating for my first purchase but overall its a great way to purchase vehicles.
ACV arbitration is worst. You buy cars As Is.They dont stand behind their inspection and selling junk and Frame damage or Hail damage cars. The 2011 Panamera Turbo that I got recently had major Engine Issue and Engine Blowed out after driving the car for inspection (less than 15 miles). The 2012 Cayenne Hybrid purchased few weeks ago came from Dallas Texas had Engine Noise and was damaged by Hail and when I opened claim they just sent me an email and said SORRY,WE CAN NOT HELP YOU WITH THIS CASE !!!!I tried to sell the Cayenne at Manheim and their CR came out 1.9 out of 5 and Hail Damage announcement.I stopped buying cars from ACV because all problems and Zero customer service.MasoodEuro Zone AutoStanton,CA
This is the worst auction. Dealers beware. We purchased a commercial passenger bus through acv listed as “green light.” The inspection report says no engine issues, runs and drives, no smoke, no noises. When we arrived to drive our Bus back to florida, it smoked and knocked and barely made it outside of the parking lot. After contacting arbitration the agent rudely dismissed our claim stating we waited too long to file a claim. Keep in mind it’s a 40 foot passenger bus it took us some time to arrange transportation. The engine in the bus has a blown head gasket and I relayed this to the arbitration department and our account manager. They basically said tough luck. No partial reimbursement, no sympathy, no help whatsoever from anyone at acv. We are now stuck with an overpriced boat anchor of a commercial vehicle that was “green light.”
Their customer service is horrible and their arbitration process is the worst. They sold me a GREEN LIGHT car with a bad transmission and they require that I pay for a diagnostic from a third party facility and provide video evidence and photo evidence because apparently they dont own and nearby facilities where they can do the inspection. This is such a waste of time for us dealers and it will definitely be the last car I buy from their auction. and to top it off this is all done through email, NOBODY on the other end of their phone can help you.
I have been With ACV from the beginning, I don’t know how I would fill the lot with inventory without them. Anytime I have a reasonable arbitration claim, the staff is always fair and reasonable to settle a arbitration. I have dealt with Michael Thomasulo a few times, he’s always fair and prompt with his response time, ACV is also a great way for a independent dealer like me to Wholesale some 60 day units and trades. I hope this company continues doing business like they have from the start.
Cant wait for your in person auctions to start! Oh wait.. So your arbitration is terrible, shipping is late, titles in 30 days haha ok and whoever does the condition reports is terrible. Manhiem treats customers way better but I still look forward to a real player in the auctions to take on COX automotive. Enjoy the 5 stars. Figured Ill help you even though you failed me.
ACV has been great!!! I have been shopping with them for 3 months now and all the vehicles have been carefully inspected and condition reports done properly! This is definitely the new way for dealers to purchase trade ins / Auction vehicles!!!Kudos to Mike (account manager) for assisting my dealership and answering any questions promptly.Satisfied Customer !!!
For the second time they sell me a frame damaged car. Every time I deal with their arbitration team they give me the worst hard time. They deliver the caters late using their own transportation then as soon as I try to open an arbitration they say it’s the policy it’s out of arbitration. How could you sell a car almost $25000 and don’t run an auto check on it ? I just don’t understand. I buy a lot of cars from this Auction and it’s not the first time they do this with our company. We are not a fly by. We have 8 dealerships 8 different locations. I just want to make sure that I am clear on what I am reporting.
This Auction is a Joke The most fraudulent auction you can deal with, buyers beware! They are terrible with titles and expect you to do shady stuff to be able to get cars with issues covered under the manufacturer warranty so they don’t have to buy it back or get it fixed there inspectors are terrible they never catch any issues when posting have been screwed one to many times with this auction be careful and have every vehicle check out after received 70% of the stuff they sell have issues, if it’s a clean nice unit and coming out of a new store there’s a reason they are selling it.why would that store be getting rid of it. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!
Hello there !Im from transportation side here, wanna tell you about my experience with ACV transportation, They pay very low price for most of the vehicles, for example they charging buyers 1000$ for the 800 Miles and giving to transportation 700, why they have 30% from transportation fee if it is transportation fee ?! if its over 2000 miles they pay 1200$ for vehicle seriously? this amount not even pay gasoline, driver, dispatcher, tires and bunch of things which happens on the road! 40% of vehicles are INOP never start the engine, reposting jobs which is done 2 month ago ! from 10 dispatched cars 3 canceling by ACV! most income they have from transportation so stop guys move the vehicles for ACV they making money on us and buyers! Auction fee + transportation fee, they taking both amount and giving nothing from there.
ACV is a great company to do business with! Josh Sanchez is my go to guy, and a solid representative of the ACV company. He handles my wholesale units, and I couldn’t ask for a more respectable, hardworking individual. If you aren’t letting ACV sell your cars for you then you are selling your self short!
Ever since ACV has gone public, they have been making the arbitration process a living hell. We bought a vehicle from a dealership that knowingly auctioned the vehicle off for just out of factory warranty electrical issues. We contacted the previous owner to see why the vehicle was traded in and they told us the exact reason and that the selling dealer was well aware of the issue. I filed an arbitration with ACV and I get this living nightmare of an arbitrator named Patrick who tells me “Due to your arb rate being under 5% in the last 90 days, we will allow you to use your own service center to diagnose this vehicle for the warning lights/burning smell.”Well I followed his instructions and send him the repair estimate. He then changed the rules. “At this time, we will need the vehicle to be brought to a franchise dealership as this issue should be able to be remedied by the dealer.”
Every vehicle I purchased I have to put through arbitration and have to fight for every penny. Most of the time major issues are not in the reports and the vehicles are sold under green light. For example, just bought a car with a completely burned out fuse box and a whole mess of extra wiring which is causing electrical problems throughout the whole car was not in the report and I was told by ACV that this was not a huge problem and they can not accept this for arbitration. Be careful purchasing vehicles and putting your trust in their mechanics.
Recently bought a green light vehicle and when it got here we noticed it mechanical issues that were not listed as part of the sale. I filed an arbitration with ACV and the matter was resolved quickly and professionally. by making a monetary offer to fix the vehicle properly!! Best Auction site that I have ever worked with!!! ACV is a must for the used car industry!!!
First off, I won’t start with the bad. This platform is very accommodating when it comes to selling your vehicles. They come to you and do very thorough and fair inspections. Also, I will admit cars bring fair market value on ACV most of the time. NOW, that’s out the way! I’m never the person to bash a company, because everyone has mishaps and makes mistakes, but I’ve tried to get this issues resolved for a few weeks now and gave them another shot. With that being said, I will never sell another car on ACV. The last few weeks every time I sell a car and send the title in there always seems to be a delay in payment. They always tell me the banking ACH has been slow and someone will call me back. Well yes, they are honest about someone calling me back. I do get a call back to say, “oh, your payment is being released you will see it in your account by tomorrow.” FALSE. I just keep getting the run around. It takes 48-72 hours to process titles. FedEx says the package was received Friday. Here it is next Thursday, still no funds. When you are an independent dealer with no floorplan and you sell 5 $70k-$80k vehicles in a week on their platform you expect to get paid in a timely fashion. If you don’t mind waiting a week on your money, this is the platform for you. If not, you’ll be just like me hand selling and taking cars back to the auction where you can get paid in a timely fashion.
Very bad customer service, Ive been waiting on titles for cars I purchased for over 5 months, keep getting the run around. This is unacceptable, I need to be able to rely upon the fact that If I purchase a vehicle from the auction that the title will be issued in a somewhat (less than 30 days) reasonable time frame. This organization needs to get their titling dept in check if they are to be considered a reputable source of inventory moving forward.
We are working more and more with ACV auctions as our preferred vendor due to selection and ease of purchasing. Most important is when there is an issue Jason and arbitration team as well as our Rep Kip take care of the customer! Only best thing to having no issue is when an issue is resolved timely and fairly. Thanks for not forgetting the customer.
Their Arbitration is a joke! I purchased a vehicle FULL GREEN LIGHT. I used their transport. When the vehicle came in, it had NO coolant. I contacted Arb and they asked me to take it to a 3rd party. I did and it took them 4 hours to clear the stop leak that was clogging the system. they paid for that but it did not fix it. The car was still overheating. It took ACV days to get back and by then the 3rd party shop had filled their schedule. long story short, ACV closed the claim without my knowledge, they are not covering the claim, and the vehicle needs thousands in repairs and now I have been without this car for over a month. Will never have faith in this company. We trust them to inspect our purchases well because we cannot be there in person. I understand that there will be human error involved, but the company should back up their mistakes.Today I was at a local auction and Overheard a table of 4 dealers complaining about arb issues with ACV. Think twice before using them, it may cost you thousands and tons of time.
This is a Sellers market Buyers have no coverage. So if your selling vehicles on ACV it must be great! As a Buyer you can buy a car in November and still have no title in Aug. The purchase was floored and interest was paid along with parts to make the car ready to sell. Found out much later no title and no answer! We asked to return the car and they said yes but would not do a thing about the money invested into this vehicle. They still allowed the selling dealer to do business on ACV and we actually ended up buying from the same dealer since seller is not disclosed at the time of auction. Same story again had to wait months for another title. No repercussions to selling dealer Im assuming. As a buyer if we cant get transportation they will take sellers side and force ship for a ridiculous amount of money and when a buyer attempts to pick up at their availability by physically driving 15+ hours to pick up a vehicle if a seller doesnt want to cooperate, buyers are left out to pay transportation again. Also buyers dont get know if weekend pick ups are available until after purchase. We run a small dealer , we dont compare to these sellers but ACV only makes it convenient for them. ACV wont do a thing over this review , but. I hope another small business like us , who basically only bought from ACV for over a year wont do business with them.
We have purchased over 160 cars from ACV and have been happy doing business with them. Seems that the company was growing but their level of customer service and care has been dwindling. Finally we ran into an issue with a vehicle ran green light with 130k. We were asked to take it to a legitimate mechanic and found at the vehicle needed an engine repair of $2,000. ACV sent a third party inspector out to verify the repair. The third party confirmed that the only remedy to repair the vehicle was to use the mechanics recommendation, which was $2,000. At this point the arbitration policy of A single mechanical defect with a repair cost in excess of $500. Should have made the purchase void or causing the auction, as a middle man of this transaction, to fix the problem. ACV decided they were not going to honor their agreement and said it was up to me to fix the vehicle. I spoke to our Representative and he completely agreed with me that this should be fixed by ACV but said upper management would not budge on their decision. So if you would like to do business with an auction that acts like a Warranty company that will find any loop hole to take the burden off of their hands, this is the company for you. If you would like an Auction that stands behind their business practices and understands that they have legally involved themselves as a middle man, you may want to keep looking.
DO NOT BUY CARS FROM THIS AUTION THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO BUY CARS THEY DONT CHECK THE CARS THEY DONT DRIVE THE CARS AND WHEN IT COME TO ARBITATION THEY ALWAYS HAVE A SUPRICE. THE CARS THAT THEY GET ARE TRADE THAT FRANCHISE DEALERSHIP KNOWS THAT THE CARS HAVE PROBLEMS AND THEY LISTED AS A GREEN LIGHT. IF YOU ARE DONIG GOOD WITH THEM YOU ARE ONE OF THE FEW BUYERS.. DO NOT BUY CARS FROM THIS ONLINE AUTION
Acv is good until there is a problem where they have to take responsibility then you start seeing their ugly side we already suspected that they boost prices to get higher amounts for vehicle but what is not widely known is how they handle issues. i have purchased a Toyota tundra auction id 3552190 October 13th its a month and after driving to pick it up and given the run around by the seller BUYER BE WARE acv said they would unwind it for me wasting my time then they changed to they will ship it going against what they originally said and up to this point they are still trying to find a transporter. Meanwhile my money is sitting in limbo and i dont have the vehicle. they wont give me my money back which i requested and they wont pay the proper amount to ship the vehicle as promised. they even sent me an invoice for $275 and told me they are going to give me a credit for the same amount at this point i dont trust them and as soon as this mess is over i will shop somewhere else. it has been a nightmare with this particular vehicle. Also as one other reviewer stated titling is also a nightmare they have no bite with sellers to get title you are basically at their mercy. I have a multiple titles i still havent recieved a title for with a maxima over 6 months being the longest. I am going to post this everywhere i see their name its unacceptable
Just had a very bad experience with arbitration , i got a car with a green light , one day later the car over heated and i did a claim with acv arbitration. i got a diagnostic report from the dealership stating that the car has a head gasket problem , and sent photos for the coolant reservoir showing the oil intermixing with the antifreeze but the arbitrator from day first his goal was how to close the claim no matter what is written in the report , he had nothing to say just we are sorry we cant assist with this auction id : 3367857
Arbitration team has 0 knowledge. Their region guy steve is such an irresponsible guy. I called him 20 times, cory texted him multiple times and still no response. No they dont help the buyer at all. All they want to do is to sell worthless cars to you for higher prices. There are other auctions that has way better prices then the acv. . Their app is not working properly, 12 am and my phone rings for a car that is running at the auction like a joke. App rings for every car even if your settings are not for that car. I suggest new commers that join either edgepipeline or backlot cars..
In twenty four years in business, Ive not come across any auction house worse than ACV. Their announcements are the weakest and than they do not stand behind any . Their arbitration department has been tamed to say NO and their customer service is the worse. They turn around time to respond a claim could take more than 50 days and good luck with getting any thing even after the claim is settled. They pretty much suck.
They are so slow with every aspect of the business. 10 days and a car is still not here because they couldn’t figure out shipping for 70 mile ship. Go to pick up another car and it had been sold to someone else. Could at least give me a heads up instead of waiting for my payment to clear and then another 2 days after it cleared for a lousy pickup slip to pickup a car that’s already been sold to someone else. No one has time for this. I wonder how long it will take to refund my money or if they will even do it at all.
We bought a 2013 BMV X3 from here as a running car. When we went to pick up the car, the engine was locked up. ACV was aware of this problem and sold it as a running car. We tried contacting the proper channel including regional manager Ron Sloan. NO RESPONSE!!!! Be very careful purchasing vehicles from this company. AT YOUR OWN RISK. Responding to ACV response, you have or number and ID. Just nobody is doing anything about this problem!!!
ACV Auctions has been a huge asset to our business model-they run a very professional auction site and offer great details and pictures regarding their vehicles-There staff from sales, titles, delivery and arbitration are best in the business. I have had nothing but great success with ACV. There team is eager and ready to serve you. I had the pleasure to work with Cole, Lig in sales and Patrick in Arbitration-They have been a wonderful experience. Keep up the great work. Amir at Zen Auto Team
Highly professional staff and absolute pleasure to do business with. I would recommend them to any car dealership looking for a great network of dealerships to do business with and a company like ACV to make it trouble-free. A special thanks to Mike DiMarco for making it easy!
I have been buying from them for awhile, which is a must for any dealership under the circumstances that we going through these days. Lately they been trying their best to hide any defects by putting Green light without yellow so you won’t pay attention to what they written underneath the pictures.Make sure to read everything they write even if they put only green light. They don’t follow the AAA arbitration guide apparently they have their own. You can’t buy according to what you use to in all other auctions.I’m really shocked with the way they conduct there business.Summit auto salesAkron ohio
I have been a customer of ACV for about 3 years. Today I had the pleasure of working with a young lady named Nicole. I had a few title issues to be resolved, and she did not hesitate to offer her best throughout the call and in the future. Her customer service is exceptional, she out performs any other representative Ive come in contact with, and she is an asset to your organization. Nicole, I greatly appreciate your hard work and dedication to your craft. Be blessed.
Been with ACV company from its beginning. They were referred to me by Turnesville Automall who was a large seller. While they were growing seems like they took a good care of a business. Later on they became more about making money and I mean it. After several purchases started to have multiple issues. Poor arbitration policy. Buyer beware if you get a Green light car that after happens to be a Lemon, they just simply blacklist your account Without an option to reinstate it. They said: we DO Not Like buyers who arbitrate...therefore we close your account indefinitely WHAT??? ( then in a response a generic dump reply: please contact us with any questions. YES, I did, however they just hand up a phone and stop communicating. More over they did a very funny business by Involving us into a sale of a car we did not commit. Weeks after, admitted they did wrong and instead of working out a way to continue business, simply blocked out account for no reason....
Been with the company from the beginning. While they where growing they took good care of business. Later on they became more bout making money by any means. and the manger never call back with any problem i have he just call when there is a sale need to be done other wise never hear back from him with any problem i have SCAM SATY AWAY
Terrible phone service. Purchased a vehicle. Paid for it one day later. They had the nerve to lock me out cause apparently “I didn’t pay” when I called them they said we don’t have a conformation number. I gave them the email that I got for a confirmation number they told me “Oh ok I’ll get this to the payment department right away and reactivate your account. It’s been 2 hours and account is still not active. This has happened more than once and you really need to resolve this issue.
They did sell me a car in greenlight auction with a bad engine, filed a claim same day i recieved the car, they asked for mechanic report, i got it and sent it over and they requested me to take the vehicle to a franchise dealer, that cost me $200 additional cost , and diagnoae confirmingthe car had bad engine ann guess what? Acc turned around and said it is an invalid claim, they are not even refunding me the money they had me spent on mechanics and dealership! End of the story is no more acv, i will warn every dealer friend i have!
I been buying car from acv more than 2 years most people works there is very friendly and helpful other than Philip Richardson he is handling arbitration i was gonna give 1 star because of him but it will be not right. I bought Buick Enclave fail for inspection i open the arbitration and he was the handling my case he told me take the car dealership and diagnose it i did they find the problem steering rack is leaking he did not accept the diagnostic he let me go to buick dealership 3 times( spent 700-800 to explain him steering rack is leaking) I bought the car 4 weeks ago and still arbitration is open he is not helping for anything
Where do I Start..2015 I started a small business going to auctions buying cars, As I’m sure you all know finding good cars at the auction can be very difficult. My mechanic sometimes makes more than I will on the car. Aside from ACV Auctions being so convenient to buy they are 100% behind what they say about the car. Everything you buy you pretty much know beforehand issues or no issues . If you don’t mind fixing small stuff that’s great. If you are like me and you just want turn key then this is the place to buy your cars Hands-down.And talk about speediness you have a problem it’s resolved in a day or two.As of now I’m hooked on never shop anywhere else... These guys are the future of Auction buying.....
Ive been buying from ACV for 3 years now. At first they were excellent, the cars were described well and nothing was left out, any issues I had were quickly resolved but for the past year its been a nightmare. More and more vehicle that I purchased had major issues that werent described or mentioned during the auction. The Arbitration department is the worst in the industry. The auction runs every vehicle as a Green light vehicle when they really arent, they have become like the rest of the other deceiving auction out there. The worst part is after trying to resolve my latest issue with the district manager Steve Timberlake he told me and I quote if you dont like our policy you should take your business elsewhere No customer should ever be spoken to in that way. After buying about 100 vehicles this year from them Im done doing business with them. I do believe ACV started out with the right motto Transparency but they have lost sight of that with their rapid growth over the past few years. I hope to see them go back to their modo which I believe was one of the main reasons for their rapid growth but if they continue to treat customers in this manner they are no different from the rest
I bought a car in July of 2020 and still do not have the title for it. This auction is keep feeding us with BS ever since. And looks like a reason is that seller is giving them a hard time to turn in the title. For the past 10 months?! Really?! To me, it seems like you just do not want to fix the problem or your title department just being lazy. Or you care more about your seller than your buyer. And please do not respond to my review with that cliche respond. Here is the ID number for that car: 1834544.Just do what you have to do. Get people involved and fix it. That is all we need.Thanks.
NOT responsible at ALL! Worst online auction ever… Made an offer for $11,000 for a vehicle they tell me they were going to call me back then come to find out the sell the vehicle to their friend for $10500. Not the first time I have had problems with this auction!! Do not recommend at ALL… Don’t trust them!!!Auction ID: 3352562
I own a local locksmith. Jennifer the district manager called me and asked me to make a key for one of the vehicles they have lost a key to. I did the job as promised, few hours after the call. On top of that, I have the best prices in town and was hoping to do more business in the future. A month later after I did not get paid I followed up with her to make sure it’s all good. She said the invoice that I have sent her was overlooked and offered me to pay over the phone with her card. I do not accept cards over the phone for the security purposes. I said it’s fine, and asked them just to process a check. Now it has been almost 2 month after our last conversation and still no check. I honestly even forgot about them, until I was going trough my invoice book today for other reason. It’s just sad that it looks like somebody is not doing good on the accounting part. So be careful when you do work for the company and make sure you get paid on time. I give them a 300 credit score!
Worst experience ever. We purchased so many cars from them the last month. 3 cars had issues. I tried to reach out to my rep. Which she normally don’t answer till the next day. Zero customer service. They ask you to get diagnostics then they decline to pay. You have ten days to report a problem than they deliver the car on the ninth day at night so you don’t have a chance to check the car then when you call about an issue that is not listed they say no. 3 issues only last week which cost me almost $2000 so far. The rep. Responds the next day off course with an excuse and then NO then sorry we can’t help you.
I have been buying from ACV since the pandemic started and it has been a life saver. Phil Stasiak was my representative initially. He was absolutely amazing, he would make sure the dealership was tended to in every sense. If I needed help with a car or a title, he was there. Then once he was swapped out with another rep, I didnt buy as much until he was reassigned to my dealership. Sometimes it is not the company or business you are getting service from, it is the representatives that are hired by that business. So kudos to ACV for giving me back Phil. He is the real deal. Just dont take him away and make sure new hires learn from him.
Be careful their arbitration is scam there’s nothing can fit in their policy I bought a car that was supposed to be green light lol the car took forever to get to the lot however the car was like 170 miles away after 11 days I got the car that doesn’t run or anythingOpen arbitration they sent someone to inspect the car that don’t want his hand to get dirty he looked at the car and said it’s the key is bad it’s so fun to deal with ACVSide note the was delayed bc the first transportation company agreed to pick up running car not INOP
Buying cars through them for over 2 years, Great platform, Always in contact with buyers even at 10pm. Pat is the best rep ;)) Arbitration sometimes tough but in general fair.EDIT: I change my review to 1 star its took them 2,5 years to become a regular auction type of service when they just care to sell you the unit and wash they hands off. They start yield over the phone, hang up on you. They stop care about buyers and customer service as they got big. So sad ...
First time purchasing with this auction. Terrible terrible service. I would not recommend this website to anyone and if you run a business, it should be organized and put together. If a dealer doesnt give you the permission of posting their car, then dont do it. I recently won a car from this site. I drove 75 miles to the dealership to pick it up and then the man at the dealership says he sold the car. Extremely disappointed and not here to spread negativity but I am filled with a lot of disappointment. My time was wasted and My hopes were brought up for no reason. I. dont appreciate the way this auction works and I really hope they get themselves together because things like this should NEVER HAPPEN. Thankyou. and this is why you have multiple bad reviews !
If you like your business and want to keep it, DO NOT ever purchase inventory through ACV Auctions. We’ve purchased roughly 100 vehicles and it no joke has push our business against a wall way too many times. It’s been almost 6 months since I last purchased from ACV and I am still having sold vehicles come back with title issues. Now ACV refuses to help since it’s been past 90 days from sale. They have the absolute worst title process. 8 out of 10 titles we’d receive would have issues, that’s being generous. You’re rolling the dice buying here. Almost every car we purchased had mechanical issues and do not expect the arbitration department to do a single thing. I had a newer vehicle show up with a cracked exhaust manifold, sounded like a tractor on start up. I received a quote for $1800 to repair. To which the arb department said sorry it does not meet our $500 threshold. They argued the part could be bought on Rockauto for a discounted price and more or less should install itself for free. That’s one example, I’ve got 75-80 more. This auction is a disaster. They have kids with no true knowledge as inspectors and absolutely will never stand behind a vehicle. Titles can take months to receive. I just recently received a title from a vehicle I purchased in January. Unfortunately that’s no exaggeration. I promise you will lose your business if you choose to build inventory through ACV. We’re still digging out of the hole from this company, and countless amountsof stress among the way. It took us too long to learn the lesson, so listen to me and STAY AWAY. Awful auction that needs to be sold to a larger company whom can actually operate it successfully.
I buy so many cars from this place and when there’s any problem from their end they never fix it . I bought 2018 4 series almost $39000 and the car was green shouldn’t have any problem and no announcement for anything wrong. I got the car and the trunk and the hard top convertible was not opening or closing I open arbitration and when I fix it and send the the diagnostic and the bill they refused to pay anything. What a waste of time and money.
Nothing but bad cars. Everything you buy you will have to beg arbitration department to work with you. If you like spending aleast $1k per car on recon if you are lucky shop here. I have reached out to management several times and no one calls me back. Cant wait until the acv car is off my lot. It was convenient but the only winner is them.
I have been buying through ACV Auctions for the past couple of years. and Ive got pretty good deals on my cars from them.I love the platform and the continues improvements to the website(new advance filter is my favorite feature). The team is very professional and helpful, I recently had an issue with one of the cars Ive purchased which was resolved quickly and professionally by Nicholas Ryan in the Arbitration dept. kudos to Nicholas!I see my self life long customer of ACV and I defiantly recommend it.
I work with them for 5 months. All the cars have issues not in the inspection report. They saying 10 days free arbitration but don’t believe that. They will not cover you at all. Last car I got it from Rino Nevada. I sent driver to pick up it and he called me saying that the engine has hard noise, back camera and the AC are not working. I told him don’t pick up it. They called me that leave the car is not the option and They will ship it to me and charge me $600 transportation fees and they asked me to do diagnostic at a dealership then they promised me that will cover me all the cost including the transportation fees.I spent around $1300 to fix the car and I need to spend $600 more to replace the back camera and they send email that the review team denied my claim. Not recommend at all
Been a truck dealer for 16 years and after getting tired of physical auctions I can say I am pleased with ACV. It is refreshing to find a user friendly platform with very detailed condition reports. Also the territory managers are very friendly and are great assets to ask questions to. I Have bought 2 trucks Within a day of using their platform and was pleased. I just Dealt with arbitration department and were reasonable to my needs On compensation based on the circumstance. I think this company is a valuable Tool to for any dealer to have to diversify buying and even wholesaling methods. I’ll be a continued customer.
A lot of problems with titles and arbitration they dont respond and arbitration has no knowledge. I have a title that was sold with the wrong miles vehicle Its title was register and tax office rejected the title because miles discrepancy , tax office wont release the title because its fraud. ACV Its blaming on seller and not helping at all.
This is the best auction platform out there. The customer service is amazing, they care about the buyer not just the seller, as most auctions cater solely to the seller. They treat you like family and in this business that says a lot. If you haven’t signed up yet I encourage you to do so!!! They have every single online platform beat hands down. Ten stars.
I have been a registered dealership with ACV for about 6 months now. My account representative has changed about 3 times. My account representative at the moment is Max, he is amazing I hope they never change him from my account. He is extremely professional, so precise with getting my work done, and so easy to work with. He is always on top of all my deals and treats me with the most respect. I hope ACV holds onto Max tight because if it wasnt for him my deals would be all over the place. Max, continue doing what your doing and we hope you much more success from here on forward. Doing business with ACV is so easy. Thank you for making transactions so easy.
All auctions have their ups and downs. ACV is no different, but I do have to say their on line experience is very clear. Our rep Chris Furrey (in the Gulfport, MS area) is amazing representative for ACV and a great supporter of our business needs! I can say he can work a miracle or two!Dealing with an arbitration or two happens in this business, but working with Matt Cox who works with professional customer service makes it an easy result regardless of the out come.Transpotation companies they use are great!! No drop off drama and they don’t shy away from communicating which is nice when we haven’t install our key drop yet!*Buying on line can bring anxiety not knowing what you are investing in since you can’t put your hands on the product until it’s shipped post purchase can be questionable, but ACV does equip you with a great desk top access to review a pre bid in detail. This makes it less painless on the pocket book! Especially when you can turn so many of their products over for a fast sale!
This used to be a good platform to buy inventory from, not anymore.A vehicle I purchased was delivered yesterday, I drove it 50 yards and turned straight back to my shop, it was frightening to drive.A quick check revealed all of the transmission mounting bolts had sheared off in the transmission casing, allowing the transmission to move around at will, a very dangerous situation.Arbitration quickly told me that these hardened steel bolts are a wearable item! They refused to help in anyway. I now have a big job I will just have to eat.I’ll definitely be looking at BackLot Cars, Manheim and local independent auctions for my inventory in the future. I’d advise other dealers looking for inventory to do the same.
If you are a Reputable Auto Dealer I would be very wary of this platform. They describe some of their Used Dealer Network as Trusted when in fact they are the least bit of that. We have purchased over 38 vehicles from ACV in the past 5 months and have had more reconditioning issues then with any other auction. We have had to Arbitrate on at least a few vehicles AND our current purchase of a $45000 vehicle it was MISSING the unit for the Adaptive Cruise and they basically told us to go pound sand. You will NEVER be able to talk to a Manager there as I think most of them hide from the Dealers especially when there is a problem. Shipping is a Nightmare and we have had multiple Title Issues.Trust me when I tell you as a Dealer for over 35 years STAY AWAY from this group! You would be better off buying from any other source then from these guys.38 purchased for me and I AM DONE......cant believe I allowed myself to do business with such a poorly run company for that long. Best thing that can happen to ACV is they get acquired from a real auction company that can turn this shoddy operation aroundNICE JOB BY ACV TRYING TO DEFLECT THIS REVIEW AS SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM... THE NAME OF THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAS PURCHASED 38 VEHICLES FROM YOU IS CARTOPIA LLC IN DEFOREST WISCONSIN... NOW YOU CAN RESPOND TO THAT.
We buy a lot of vehicles through online auctions. Especially since COVID hit. We started by using all of them, now we are primarily using ACV and one other one every now and again. That is a true testament to how they conduct themselves. High integrity employees and thorough inspections. Of the last 50 we bought from ACV we arbitrated 2! Only 2! Backlot cars we arbitrated 75% and they fixed nothing! In an industry full of dishonesty we are glad to see that there are some companies that do business the right way, the honest way. Helena McCutcheon is our rep and she takes care of everything we could need. Always answers and will go to bat for us on an auction or an arb. Their inspectors missed something on an auction we we received a check >$1000 to fix it within a week. I cant say enough good things about ACV. Great people and an awesome company.Edit: Maybe its the pandemic, but the customer service has seriously declined. Title problems left and right. Vehicles having problems that were said to not have in the description. Arbitration does not return calls. The owner at our store was supposed to have a LARGE issue resolved with ACVs founder but now he wont return any calls. We bought 90% of our inventory through ACV, now we have to find another auction.
Scam. Green lighted a car that ended up being garbage. Finally got a refund after they approved me to go ahead and fix it (witch I told them it was a waste of time) car was still not fixed. 2 months later finally refunded me on the vehicle without paying approved shop bills. Refused to pay for the bills they said they would and left the vehicle on our lot for close to 1 year. Wouldn’t respond to phone calls other then rep is busy. Emails totally ignored. Then they made a fake auction and resold the car to me agian and tried to floor and send me to collections for it. Worst experience ever. Don’t deal with them!!
Bought a truck with 75,000 miles when the title shows 175,000 I paid all the money on this truck and ACV wont compensate anything.. Buyers be aware they dont care about you. I switched from Mannheim to ACV but apparently is another auction who only cares about themselves.... Update: Rep John did reach out to me for 3 weeks got us bs around and he did nothing. he said upper management said nothing they can do.Update 10-05-20 : Owner replied on this review and wrote: he was going to look at this issue 1 month ago. no one has done anything, even worst. I havent received the title.
Great platform for a buyer and a seller. listing your vehicle is easier than any other auction out there hands down. Open your app click create listing and it has step by step instruction anybody can do it.I see a lot of people talking about how ACV takes payment immediately. This is true but i dont see anybody talking about how their max buy fee is lower than Manheim or Backlots. I dont care if they take my money upfront and use it for whatever they want if they keep the buy fees low.
Been with the company from the beginning. While they where growing they took good care of business. Later on they became more bout making money by any means. Long story short I purchased a car from local seller picked it up same day, green light car with ton of problems (not sure if seller bribed their appraiser ) Called to return the vehicle same day, they told ,me to bring the vehicle to MB. Mercedes gave me a laundry list for $7800 (green light diesel Mercedes :)))) Matt Cox kept telling me that they do not cover some stuff on the list. received quote from them for $1100 to cover some sensors, agreed with the manager to look in to the engine if there bigger problem. Got approval to fix, fixed the issue and they told me out of arbitration time frame. So in the end I got green light car (!!!) with $4500 repair bill and 0 payouts from ACV 6 month of my time. Sending reports, calling for approval, taking car to 3 service facilities. All for tthem to later say that they understand everything but their is nothing they can do and they out of it. 6 month of time waste And their Arbitration MATT COX is the worst. IF someone is going to sue them Ill contribute, please email me, I have everything on paper with calls recorded.
ACV has been the best thing to happen to the auction industry! Their fees are fair and they offer transportation and floor planning. Problems are always addressed professionally and in a timely and fair manner. Our family has been in the car business for 71 years and have seen a lot of change in the industry. This is the most major change and ACV has transformed the auction industry.,
1747218.... bought 7-1-2020..anyone is welcome to call me, I have left many messages and spoke to at least 6 people whom promised a call backNot a good experience! ..it been 2 months and ACV failed to follow thru on assuring titles for cars they sell...but on top of taking the funds from buyer. 1 vehicle has been sold to a customer and ACV cant provide title after over 2 months! Many calls No return calls, different person everytime you call. Customer Service in titles have zero clue of what they are doing..you ask for an extension number they wont provide. I am not one to give bad reviews, but as a result of their Incompetence and No interest in resolving the problem I have a unhappy customer who is driving the vehicle without a title! So know matter how good the experience was for my customer..ACV turned it into a nightmare. Dealers work very hard to provide a good experience for their customers to have ACV create a nightmare. Now I know why they wont answer your call and want you to leave a message.
Agreed, there are definitely a few good people that work for the company. However, the recent horrible customer service, arbitration process, and communication from admin & management is on the rise. They are sure to call me immediately when they want to close a deal on a car Ive bid on, but when I need help with a leaky roof that was green lite sale, and delivery for cars purchased that take several weeks to arrive, they only promise to run it up the ladder, without even a response weeks later. I am now looking into Trade Rev and Backlot cars as a new additional option as I buy about 40 to 80 cars a month. This company started out strong and former management (Vince) gave top notch service, those days seem to be gone now and the attrition of the quality of cars and service is consistent.
As an owner of an independent dealership in California, Id like to give ACV a 5 star review for excellent service, transparency, and arbitration process. Patrick Hanley was excellent to work with on a recent arb and I look forward to my continued business with ACV during this challenging time and positive future. Thanks ACV!
Won a vehicle for 12,200 and the app glitched due to other bidders and my bid showed 125k. When auction ended they told me I had no choice but to pay the sellers demand which was 13,800 total. After a week or so of back and forth waiting to hear back from them, they black listed me and booted me for non payment. Right before the holidays. I even told them I was willing to ach the payment which was going to make me lose a good chunk of money by doing so. They wouldn’t allow it. Horrible humans to do business with. They claim payment issue was my fault when it was not. Didn’t even give me the chance to make the payment as we were trying to sort out the details and negotiating me some buyer fee credits for future purchases for cars I bought. I guess because I’m a smaller dealer it was easier for them to cut me off. Also, the arbitration policy is a disgrace, the delivery drivers can show up on the last day of arbitration and you are expected to get it right in and check it over even if your bays are full. They don’t care about accommodating anything for you. I was one of the first thousand to sign up with ACV. Not the same company anymore.
Out of all of the online auction platforms ACV is the shadiest auction out there. They want dealers to pay for the vehicle out-front so they can flout your money to pay for it before they even produce title, they dont let you know who the dealer is you are buying it from.... seems very shady. If they go out of business they already have your money without even producing title. Every other auction will not cash you check or take your money until they have title in hand and let you know who and where you are buying it from. Also when you are bidding they do not show who you are bidding against which allows the owner of the vehicle or someone connected to the vehicle to run up the bid with false bids to run the bid up. Otherwise why wouldnt they let you know who you are bidding against. This is not a good way to do business and is dangerous for a dealer to do business with because they have already taken your money and do not have a title in hand to protect the dealer. Most of their vehicles are problem vehicles with paint work. Dealers be very careful dealing with this online platform.
Purchasing around 10 to 15 cars per month, they are selling cars under GREEN LIGHT and cars have all kinda major problems anywhere from $4000 to $9000 problems. they will offer you crack head prices. 2010 benz E350 needs a whole new engine and it would cost me to replace it for $6,000 and they offering me $2,000. dont do busniess with ACV they all are scamer big time
Dealers Beware!!recently i purchased a vehicle from ACV auctions. This was a green light car, most of the cars i purchase are not green light, (which means its guaranteed to drive) but this one was. so i drove 70 miles to pick it up and drive it home. this car did not shift into second gear it was unable to be driven home and needed a transmision. i called my rep man and he said that it was acceptable to return, but two days later they said the transmission shifts slow and they cannot refund or help in any way.so long story short ive been scammed by them, as they dont honor their green light or word. and now i have a car that will lose money.i know they have issues with the titles taking weeks to arrive and theyre also being sued for fraud with shill bidding. but the green light warranty being useless is what does it for me. thats the last straw. Be prepared to get burned by ACV in one way or another if you choose to use them.you have been warned.
Ive done business with ACV now for a couple years. They are a top notch auction in my opinion. I deal with many local auction and buy hundreds of cars per year. Ive had a few issues with cars Ive purchased from ACV, but let me tell you they stand behind their units 100%. Anytime I have an issue it gets resolved quickly with minimal questions asked. If you are a dealer looking for an alternative way to purchase cars..... ACV is it!
Run back to in person auction as fast as you can! I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with acv and lost about half that with bad cars . Arbitration is a joke! No one reaches back to you other than to tell you you own it. Take my advice dont spend your money with them. Wish I could have known before I signed up.
Easy way to buy, sure. Easy way to get screwed in a car with an announcement written in a way that seems like the vehicle is green light. Only to find out your about to be 10k upside down in the car and they find every way not to let you out!Get ready to spend big bucks at a certified dealer to get a 3rd party evaluation.... thats the BS they require. Even when the 3rd party agrees, they find their way not to let you out of the vehicle. This is a nationwide pot lot auction, the good news is we can take this to our states dealer board for writing misleading announcements!
Lake City Exports has purchased almost 300 units and have sold over 200 units. I feel the description and the photos are accurate and if something isnt right that is within reason they will work with for a resolution that is fair. I have purchased from some other online sites but have made ACV my #1 online site
This is our MOST VALUED PARTNER. I have come to be more comfortable buying cars here than anywhere. Almost all cars have 60 photos including every damage item, a high-def undercarriage shot, engine running, paint thickness, and they disclose EVERYTHING. Mark L, my account rep, has been easily the easiest-to-work-with person Ive come across in this industry over the years. I truly believe I cold run our dealership with JUST ACV. Its also extremely valuable to have this confidence and buy from my office or even my couch at home
Considering signing up? Beware. Inspections are doctored! My last few units were “Green Light” with no issues reported. Delivered with bad transmissions. Get this, they offered me $1085 refund on a 2014 BMW and said that’s what my cost should be to replace a transfer case, and wouldn’t pay for the brake lights flashing, headlight ballast, reimbursement for hours of diagnostic time at the dealer, etc. and still charged me the $300 auction fee.
Don’t use them. They don’t honor buy back if you use your own shipping company or pick the vehicle up if you can’t get it to your location within 7 days. How is any transport company supposed to do that? Even their own transport doesn’t make it here within 2 weeks most of the time. Then they tell you to just buy the Buyer Assurance. Okay, sure. I spent an extra couple hundred dollars for 20 days instead of a week. The vehicle still isn’t here? Well too bad, because if it extends that buyer assurance, you STILL don’t get the buy back AND you just wasted hundreds of dollars with no exceptions to extend your buy back. Not a single auction I’ve dealt with before has been this reluctant to honor a buy back.
I have used ACV Auctions for over 2 years and always had a good experience. I have even praised them in the past for how they conducted business and handle Arbitrations. Now they have changed polices and take a week to handle arbitrations and even when inspectors miss that carpet is missing and the radio turns on, but doesnt play sound they hide behind the arbitration policy and say that they do not cover arbitration items below $500. that is fine except the inspector missed listing these obvious issues!
I have used this online auction a dozen times. They really put the effort into making the wholesale process simple! My family owns dealer auctions in multiple states and ACV really goes above and beyond helping the independent dealers. I only sell 30 cars a month, and with that I have to have quality inventory! They take care of issues that may arise and handle it professionally every time! This is what the auction/wholesale process should be that many other auctions have forgotten about; which is having amazing business to business support. Thank you ACV for noticing and treating the little guy with the professionalism that everyone should get!
Very Disappointed with the way Acv sold me a 1986 Corvette with 43k miles Green light and when the car arrived for transport it would not start we had to roll the car off the dolly. Day of receiving it I reached and out stop with Jeff he told me to file a claim and submit which I did same day along with submitting a quote from a well known mechanic for his great pricing and work! Jeff got in touch with me a week later and said the repair did not exceed 500 which the quote I got was 1200 roughly and that’s the best price you can find, Chevy is double that! Then said I could no longer resubmit because I was out of arbitration. I have records of me contacting them everyday but they purposely wouldn’t help so they could make an excuse to not help me at all! Now I still have the car and it won’t start. This is going to cost me over 1000 to fix. Acv used to be a stand up company now they sell garbage with a green light atttached. Keep going to the auctions in person, because they will not make things right.
I have used ACV auction almost three months bought 22 cars from them. They were helpful for my first two arbitration case and the Arbitration department is an absolutely joke now green light is just a color for them. Now they take a week to handle arbitrations and even when inspectors miss huge oil leak, transmission issue, broken navigation screen, they hide behind the arbitration policy and say that they do not cover arbitration items below $500.If you are planing to buy a car from ACV try to buy 2000 dollars cheaper so you can cover your problems.
Just like any other auction, they have their profit as first priority in front of the customer. We had a great experience with ACV up until the COVID-19 situation. We bought a truck GREEN LIGHT and the condition report stated that the truck DIDNT HAVE A ROUGH IDLE. As soon as the vehicle was delivered, we could see the rough idle as the delivery driver was unloading the truck. So, not sure how their inspector missed that. And now were stuck with a $3,400 repair with no help from ACV.Update: We have now gotten stuck with another repair that was mis-represented by their condition report on a separate vehicle.
Best auction there is! These folks have got it figured out. Great customer service. There inspections are done correctly, so you know what your getting. Also , Sol Freeman is incredible to work with. Very understanding and truly cares about my business and my success. Same goes for Rachel Fiske. She makes it happen from New York. You would think she was in the same town as I. Thanks for being part of my success ACV! You guys rock!

You must be blind to not see them as theyre listed right on the left side, up top.I literally trust them so much now that I just read the disclosures and dont even bother looking at pictures because they always list everything and overstate issues.Im actually annoyed they list so many petty issues. Sometimes it takes me 1-2 days of having the vehicle to see the issues their inspectors diagnose. If you find issues with ACV Auctions, I suggest you take your business over to Backlot Cars and/or TradeRev. I buy from all 3 but I do 10x more with ACV and face 1/10 the issues with ACV vs. these 2 companies that are merging.I promise youll be back in a hurry once you face the nightmares Ive dealt with these companies from 3-4 month title waits, salvage/junk title disclosures buried in docs & not on Bill of Sale or Auction Disclosures, abritration dept. being a joke and stops responding to calls/emails, small sellers who patch up cars in their auctions to get past inexperienced inspectors, getting cars with major OBD codes and/or more than 10+ but theyll list only 1-2 minor ones in description and pictures, sellers asking NADA Retail Prices as youre literally up to 300-400% off their prices with your winning bids, etc.Heck our local rep was our AFC rep. who was always nice and after I called them one too many times to TradeRev, he went to being a jerk and giving us same speech their reps at HQ gave us.So cherish what you have at ACV Auctions, the grass aint always greener on the other side.
Very good buying site! Do not not buy any extended arbitration. I bought a green light vehicle and purchased arbitration, had engine problems and they considered it wear and tear. Waste of$270 for arbitration that does nothing. They also double sold a car which I purchased and took them 8 eight months to send me a title
We are a small dealership in Philadelphia PA . We have purchased over 900 units using ACV auto auction, for last 2 years , All have been great units for our store. The few issues we have were resolved quickly, BIG thanks to our representative Phil Schaper his always there to help if something slips through, extremely professional at what his doing! 5out of 5.Thanks Phil!!!We look forward to keep our partnership with ACV and our rep Phil Schaper.Car Time Inc 🏎
Whoever started ACV Auctions is a genius! There are photos to back up the condition reports(undercarriage photos for me are priceless since we specialize in rust free, 4x4 diesels). I feel that the whole buying process from you guys arranging the shipping to the way the listings are presented makes the buying process a breeze. Not to mention, Im able to do all of this from my cell phone. I understand that no one or nothing is perfect. We have had a couple issues with the trucks that weve purchased, but Joshua Zielinski is prompt and made the whole arbitration process easy once issue with our truck was confirmed. Thanks! Eric
Weve been with ACV for 4 years or more now. In that time they have become our auction of choice. In those 4 years ACV has constantly strived to become better and improve their platform. For independent dealerships who may struggle to get to the auctions consistently, you should give ACV a try.Recently we had a deal go to arbitration. This deal took longer than expected but Jason Emmick was prompt and professional the whole time. He went to bat for us and even contacted us after his office hours to keep us updated on the deal. In the end we found a resolution that worked for everyone.
I have been dealing with ACV for about a year but buying from auctions since 2014 . Going thru the arbitration process is usually very time consuming and drags on for weeks. This process was simple fast and fair. But understand that that you bought a car wholesale, arbitration is not there to correct buyer mistakes. My First arb and hopefully the last . But very happy with there responsiveness.
Every vehicle I’ve gotten from ACV it’s been something wrong with it that’s not listed. Just recently I bought 2 “green light only” vehicles with both over $1000 in repairs needed. I attempted to arbitrate them both and they both were declined!!! I’m officially done doing business with ACV, and I recommend any other dealer to stay away from them!!!!!!
I like how in the arbitration department works diligently with our Dealer when we have an inconvenience with a vehicle that is defective, they always try to give our best and help us solve our inconveniences. The arbitration department has a very good team always with the provision to help and solve the problems especially Mr. Jason Emmick and his colleagues do an excellent job.
I bought a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado from ACV at green light and I selected ACV transportation, the milage was 154052 on the truck, once I receive the truck the transmission was bad and the milage was 154480 on the truck, I called to the arbitration for bad transmission, They told me to take it to 3rd party for diagnose, I tow it to Chevrolet dealer, They found a bad transmission on it, I send the Diagnostic forms to ACV, The arbitration team told me you drove the vehicle more than 250 miles We are not able to take care of your truck. Please check the milage on your vehicles when you received it from the Seller.
Selling cars green light with major issues (rotted frames, massive oil leaks, etc) and then not standing behind them with arbitration. Gave them a shot, but back to Manheim I go. Shame as its easier to buy a car but not worth it loosing money on all the repairs as already stated in other recent reviews.
I have been using this auction for approximately 3 years. The auction started off as a decent auction but the vehicles have now progressively gotten worse, the prices are through the roof, every vehicle we are buying - doesnt matter if its 10 years old or 4 years we are putting over $500 into it. It seems like if it does not make it to the regular auction they will sell the junk on here. We use to buy almost everything on ACV now we are going back to the auctions to get inventory.
Out of all the auction companies out there ACV is by far the best! They have reasonable fees, great communication, and prompt service. I would like to say a special thank you to Mike Albini at the corporate office. Although he is 1500 miles away it feels like he is right here doing business with me. Great communication through texts and phone calls, he does what he says he is going to do, and most of all he fights for what is fair for both the seller and buyer so everyone comes out feeling good. Thank again for the great experience, keep up the good work!
I hope the company can keep the founders personality. Arbitration is very money conscious and ACV is actually the ones buying the car back. Not the seller. Joe made it right. He actually took the time to call me and hear my story. He is a car guy. The arbitration department is protecting themselves for the short gain. I sure hope Joe or whoever is over seeing them can get it figured out because I am rooting for them. I will buy from ACV in the future because of my local rep Robbie, Susan, and the founder Joe. Thanks for hearing me out guys!
I bought a 2018 green light 1500 ram 48K on miles. The truck would not start when transportation went to pick up. It would turn over but not start so we arb it. Jeff from arb. calls me and says they are a green light seller that is insured by ACV. So the selling dealer has no responsibilities to making it right PLEASE TELL ME THIS CAN NOT BE REAL????
I buy exclusively from ACV.They are very fair and thorough.Very professional and they stand behind their inspection process with a good arbitration team.I like the 20 minute auctions most of all.I dislike that they start the bidding way to high in many cases and nobody bids on the vehicle so they have to constantly repeat the same auctions over and over.Inspectors need to drive the vehicles further to get a better grasp of the vehicles condition and no seller should be allowed to sell a vehicle if he doesnt have title in hand
The team here is Houston is great to deal with, they are available for me when I need vehicles inspected and my dedicated Rep. AC and I work very well together on strategy and timing to sell my vehicles so that we maximize our results. If you are still using brick and mortar auctions to buy/sell your vehicles you need to get up with technology and switch to this digital platform. I dont see a world where you can exist in the car dealer business without it now.
Ive generally had very good experiences when dealing with ACV, but Ive had some issues with arbitration or things being unannounced when being sold. Ive been burned a few times but I think the good balances out the bad, I would advise people to just be careful when buying
I’ve been a car dealer for over 25 years. I have purchased almost 50 plus cars on this app, and have concluded go to a reputable live auction. The arbitration department here is an absolute joke. Spoke to Nicholas , he claims to be the supervisor. Purchased a car on a red light, however their description didn’t describe the shoe electrical problem the car had. He was very rude basically told me, red light nothing they can do. So don’t believe the description that they put. They take your money , and don’t wasnt to know nothing. Bad business..
Agree with many of the other reviews on here. It can be a decent enough spot to purchase vehicles, especially given the circumstances right now. However, hopefully you never need to go through arbitration. They will do whatever is necessary to get their quote under the $500 mark, which includes using incorrect part numbers and used parts. There is no bend in them and you can never speak with the case manager who has been given your case. Michael T. has given me the wrong part # twice now and even if it was the correct part, he has used a used part as a quote too. My advice ... just buy with caution and absolutely stay away from anything that is European and has more expensive parts.
I have been working with ACV for about 8 months, I really like this auction, of all the cars that I bought I had a problem with only one, with the vehicle transmission, the car kicked between gears and it only happens after the engine and transmission is hot and after driving for a few miles, I understand why the problem could not be detected before. Although the days of arbitration had expired, they helped me with the problem with more than half the cost of the vehicle. and the people Ive talked to are very nice and friendly
I worked with Patrick Haley recently on an arbitration and I’ve heard it can be a nightmare for some people.. I personally haven’t had that experience but I want to especially shout out Patrick he was so sweet and pleasant on the phone I think he genuinely enjoys his job. He was very respectful and attentive and would get back to me within minutes.. I never do surveys or reviews so I just wanted him to get the recognition he deserves.. thank you Patrick!! I wish you the most successful career and happiness in life
This online auto auction is a totally Rip off, there are plenty of honest auctions out there, this one is a scam. Dont even think of doing business with them, because at one point they will take advance of you. I will edit and explain later the modus operandi and all the tactics they use to scam their customers.
Deceptive business practices. ACV intentionally omit items from Condition reports. Every time I purchase a vehicle from ACV its like Christmas because you never know what you will receive. The last 2 vehicle I have purchased this week have done it for us. The Mercedes suspension bags have leaks and the Malibu has oil every where. Noticeable items from anyone inspecting a car. Going to cost me thousands of dollars and none of the items are arbitrable per ACV policy. Beware!
I have been a ACV Auction dealer for the past four years here lately I’m getting cars that they are taking back from me after I have already bought them and reconditioned them! They are selling me cars that are stripped of parts before they show up to my dealership! They are selling me cars then I pay for them and they unwind the deal! If all of this stuff sounds good to you dealers go ahead and sign right up with them!
First of shout out to my main men Lenny Wong and Matt Scheff, also Steve (inside sales), Brian (arbitration), and Rene A and all the title ladies and rest of the ACV team, what a pleasure working with you guys, keep up with great work!!!I have bought over 250 cars within last 6 months and have been very pleased with quality/deals on the cars offered. I have not gone to a single local auction ever since joining. Their condition reports have been on the money, very friendly customer service and the easy and understanding arbitration process (only 3 cars arbitrated out of 250). The auction has been a blessing for my business and I would recommend it to anyone. Keep in mind I drive purchased cars from all over home (250-500 miles away)The Only thing I would love you guys to improve on would be better pricing on vehicle deliveries.

2021-12-07They got me once, never again. CR Failed to disclose ANY body damage, Delivered 7 days later over a holiday weekend. Claim I failed to report damage during the appropriate time frame. WARRNING: ACV does not count business days but calendar days! $1100 later, I get to pay for the bodywork. TERRIBLE POLICY! Our dealership has been in business for 110 years, that didnt happen by treating customers like ACV does!

2022-01-13For a wholesaler this auction is the best platform around but as a buyer like myself its lacks bad ,its sad to see that auctions tend to always favor the seller like Manhiem did for many years not realizing they need the buyer just as much. my experience here DONT BUY FROM A INDEPENDENT DEALER Unless they implement a rating system for each dealer or you will get screwed and acv wont help,Because they always side with the seller look at the average positives rating here ironically all from wholesalers.

2022-02-18This company is nothing but problems. ACV sold us a car without correcting a problem on the title from the original seller so when we sold the car we had to have them fix it. They have had the title for over 7 days & have had no progress. They tell us we will not get paid until the original seller corrects the problem (something we have no control over). Every time you send a title into this company expect at least 7-10days before you get paid.

2022-05-26Very expensive vehicles and you always get a surprise when your vehicles get to the car dealership. To sell cars on their auction site they demand that you buy five cars first in a months time. When I ended up buying vehicles the whole process to pay online is not user friendly. So I call the office for help and there girl gives me a hard time on helping me to pay them. I suggest your local auction. The old fashioned way is a lot safer, cheaper. Not mention the last dealership I was with it took ACV months to deliver your titles.😞🤣😩🚗👎

2022-07-28Way better than manheim. Very objective with inspections. Lower fees, arbitration is easier to deal with. No one steals your keys or random stuff like at the big auctions. I havent been to an auction in probably 3 years now. Definitely saves time and money!

2022-06-29Buying through ACV has been a much more pleasant experience than those other auctions. With ACVs detailed inspection reports, you know exactly what you are buying and with their published listing of fees, you know exactly what your costs are. I will continue to be a customer.

2022-05-24We been buying cars from ACV for last 5 years. We are so disappointed from the arbitration department process. We purchased a 2009 Lexus Gs 350 Awd and sent it to the mechanic shop because it arrived with a lot of unannounced issues. We arbitrated same day as it arrived. The mechanic told us they will get to it in timely manner. We keep updating the rep via email.Car Bargain forwarded the first diagnostic via email as soon as it was received from the mechanic. The Acv representative requested more detailed diagnostic. We call the mechanic shop ask them for full details on the diagnostic which they did with in 3 days.We forwarded again to Acv assign arbitration representative. He said he will send it for review. We told them we are open for ACV to send their own inspector so they can speed up the process . We got the email after couple days that they denied the claim because the time of the arbitration has been expired. We been keeping open communication all this time updating on the diagnostic status and the fact that we have no control over mechanic schedule. The claim was in process until they see the diagnostic came out to thousand of dollars. I would not recommend to buy cars from ACV. Their inspector is not doing their job and you as a buyer has to run around waist time to prove what is wrong with the car and if it will take longer than few days they will deny.

2022-08-11Warning... worst arbitration ever . we bought 2010 Mercedes ML from a franchise dealer and they describe is as run and drive. when i sent my carrier to picked it up the vehicle will not start. they send there mechanic to inspect the vehicle and they confirm the issue which was one of the computer need to be replace. they send me an estimate for repair but i refuse it and i ask for unwind. they said they can not unwind it and they force me to accept the offer. the vehicle right now still at the seller for almost a month and i can not move it because no carrier will ship a non running vehicle for out the state.Bad experience arbitration... BE AWRE !!!!!!!

2022-07-28Updated 1 star to 3-Buyer Beware--Every buyer should be aware that ACV does not honor the green light auction policy . We count on ACV to offer accurate information as you are a online only auction. Inspectors green light cars with major mechanical issues. The will tell you it can be repaired under their $500.00 policy. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Unfortunately, you cannot fix these cars for their estimates and its always under the $500 that way they dont have to be make it right. Buyers need to be aware that if there is an problem with a car, Arbitration will not help. I have changed my review from 1 to 3 stars because there is 1 employee there that will try and help you find a resolution that is fair. If it wasnt for her, I would have stopped buying cars from ACV after my 2nd purchase as both needed thousands in repairs.
