Algonquin Park in Newburgh
The park is littered with trash, peices of American history on display with graffiti all over it is appalling and a disgrace to America. The water is contaminated with some sort of chemical that is killing off all the fish as they are dead floating above the water. This place needs a complete clean up. Its ashame as this park could be absolutely beautiful.
What a wonderful place to have a little fun. You can run around and maybe even barbecue for three or 40. The excellent Park employees were operating in a cohesive team when I showed up there just about 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Thank you for taking such good care such an important part of the community, guys.
Always love to go hiking there. Sometimes the family gets together and we have a big barbecue! And I have a very big family.
Love this park. We get our big Italian sandwiches and pickles and enjoy a great time walking off the calories and discovering awesome historic old buildings.The only bad thing its :the bathrooms are closed and they put the icky portable ones😒🙄😰 too gross.I called and asked about it and the guy answered by give me the run around. I love this park and our Madison agree🐩🐾
Nice peaceful spot to walk around. Waterfalls, turtles, ducks, gun powder factory ruins from the Civil War era and a playground for kids.
Nice park, beautiful water, ruins too. Just have to follow the stream up.
Dont expect anything fancy here. Quiet place with a brook across. There are a couple of charcoil grills, benches and a playground.
I wouldnt say the dog park is hidden at all, but decent place. Been going there since I was born.

Very friendly people who hang out in the park. And is always kept in great condition.
This park is good for a quick lunch or a quick walk. The fields are kept clean. But the ponds are dirty. When they were fixing the ponds they didnt even clean the garbage out. Main pond should really have a fountain in it. Dog park is nice.
The Park was n is still beautiful. The Park was a family affair get together. My belated dearest Aunt passed may she SIP in peace. But that is where she threw our family/friends. We all celebrated her home going with a family remeberence in her name.

Beautiful park. Loved the cool running waters, mini waterfalls, mini creek, peaceful, quite park, perfect for family picnic. Children enjoyed bathing in the water.

This place has lots of potential but it is just not maintained well enough. The paths are crumbling,the lake and streams are filled with trash and algae, and the general appearance is just run down. In a positive note the playground equipment is nice and the ruins are interesting.
My dog Molly loves this park it’s her park. Very nice place to have a picnic or just chill have a catch or just take a nice hike through the different trails very historic.

It is a nice park with a ton of space for the kids to play. There are areas to grill and picnic tables. Nice for Birthday parties.

Its beautiful, but it needs restrooms.
So much fun to explore. My son had a great time looking in all the ruins of the old gun powder mill. The water running through was fun to watch too but be careful because there isnt much fencing. There is a small playground and a nice pavilion with grills and tables.
Good for families, I went there to visit a friend. Algonquin park is quite peacefulThere are no scaring jumps or anything of that sort,. The park is mainly for BBQ with love 1s & just a nice little jog with a friend or , you & mother nature.
Love the old stone buildings. The history all around you is so cool. The playgrounds are great. The main pond needs to be cleaned a bit but still looks good. Walking around the trails is fun.
Very calming place. Good suits for picnic or just evening walk. Soothing. Have water falls and children parks and picnic tables.

Playground is small but well-kept. Lots of tables and areas to grill or have a picnic. The trail walking is nice but not somewhere you want to be after dusk.
Small. The history is really cool. The layout is engaging. Great place to kill an hour, take the kids, have a romantic walk... this place has a great atmosphere, but isnt really a destination experience I think.

Nice peaceful place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Not very many things to do unless you bring things with you. All in all a great place to bring your own chair and sit to enjoy the tranquil serene environment...

Service was fantastic. The ducks was exquisite. The waterfall ambiance really set the mood, for all four of us. Only complaint, menu was difficult to locate. Love the 24/7 service. Deserves a sixth star.

Grew up nearby and spent a lot of time here. My friend group holds an annual bbq here too. Great park with gorgeous views.
This is the only REAL park in Newburgh if you ask me. Im from the Bronx, this park has a slide and swings and a play area, bbq area, benches, etc. I wish there was more things for the kids but over all its a great park.Plus the trails up to the mini lake up top are neat for walking and getting in your exercise 😎
There as part of a group with reserved pavilion.Washrooms with running water/flush toilets are nearby.Fun day was had by all. Threatening weather never materialized, but kept the Park from becoming crowed.
The park was a fine experience for the whole family. The ruins were a nice sights to see.

The dog park is great! Very good size and two seperate areas for large and small dogs. The entire park was very clean and well maintained.

I used to hike around the park with my parents in the early 1960s. I go back now and walk around for the exercise and its still an enjoyable place to go.

We just got back from fireworks at the park tonight. We are not from the town of Newburgh but, decided to give them a try. I have to say it was one of the best displays we have seen in a couple of years.
There was a closed and locked gate going across the bridge between the parking lot and the playground. I broke my ankle and am on a knee scooter and couldn’t get around it so had to wait in the car while my son and husband played. Bathrooms were totally disgusting.

Good walking trails, bbq pits, and playground plenty of room for soccer, I wish they would keep the ruins of a revolutionary war encampment in better shape but a good park.

2022-02-15Great little park with a beautiful walking path that runs alongside a gushing creek and waterfalls. Some Civil War era ruins on the grounds. Would be nice to have some information panels on site with the history of these ruins. Nice place for a picnic.

2022-04-26This park has a lot of space if you want to barbecue or play soccer, there is a lot of open ground. The playground equipment, however, is pretty sparse. There isnt much and my kids got bored pretty easily. You can also walk, as there is a path. Park is kept pretty clean.

2022-02-10Algonquin Park is a beautiful, historic park with the remains of a black powder mill. The pond and falls are gorgeous, even in winter. The dog park is large enough for the dogs to enjoy a good run, whether big or small. Overall, a good day!

2020-08-31This is perfect spot for families with children of all ages and grandparents. Nice walk through the park, gorgeous views and easy pathways. Ruins evoke adventurous side and many questions from kids. Great site for pictures and creating memories. Very short drive from Beacon, NY, can Uber if dont have a car, just plan ahead to get Uber and wait a bit. It is nice picnic area. Tables under canopies, so its OK to be there during rain or full sun, there is enough shade. Absolutely recommend to visit and enjoy this park! Love it!

2019-07-14Beautiful park with tons of tables and areas to picnic or throw a party. The little walking paths were beautiful and well up kept. My only complaint was it was quite crowded when we were there as there were three different groups each having their own barbecue and party. Beautiful area though.

2019-07-10Great park!!! So many paths through the woods that take you by mini waterfalls, ponds, and ruins. They have a playground, restrooms, and picnic areas. Just about anything you could want is packed into this place. Trails are mostly clean and clear cut.

2018-06-11If your kids love to explore like mine do then this park is perfect weve caught turtles fish and frogs we even saw a beaver on our last trip !! There are 3 ponds a play ground and hiking trails definitely something for everyone to do !!!
