We used this moving company when I was helping my friend move out of her loft and they were extremely helpful. The moving crew was really nice and polite and took care of all the work very quickly... and nothing was broken!! It was nice to sit back after helping her clean the whole place and have these guys take care of the heavy lifting. These guys were very efficient, extremely reliable and another thing that really helped is that they were on time.. which was a big deal considering we were on a very tight schedule. I will definitely use them again, and I would definitely recommend them to friends and family!
DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!I have moved numerous times and I real that I am realistic in what to expect from a move. Some times things get chipped and even broken, even when everyone involved is being careful and diligent. When I called to set up the move I was aware that Id be storing the majority of my things for 2 months before moving them into my home. I was told that the insurance policy allowed 90 days for me to make a claim from the date my items were delivered. I now know this is a lie. It is 30 days.To date I have discovered they have : 1.) lost a 5 foot tall dresser, 2.) shattered numerous totes - I say shattered because the plastic is literally splintered in multiple pieces as though dropped from a distance, 3.) broken a rocker so it is no longer functional, 4.) scratched/ripped 3 other items of furniture, 5.) broken at least 20 glass items - As Ive stated, Ive moved many times before and many of these items Ive owned for a long time and have been moved numerous times. I have packed these items myself with paper and bubble wrap and they have all made the previous moves without a problem.Of course, I can not make a claim at this point despite being told that I had ample time. Each time I call I speak to a different person, which I feel is by design. The drivers and movers appeared to not alway commentate well from the people who set up the move. The drivers and movers were rude and gruff while the people at the 1-800 number were extremely charming until I asked about making a claim. All together there was nothing positive about my experience with this company.
Id lived in the same house for pretty much my entire life, but I got a new job that necessitated a move almost halfway across the country. My experience with Alliance Moving Services was good, although not perfect. I had considered just hiring some local people off of craigslist to help me but was wary of their lack of licensing. So I decided to give these folks a try instead.I had some pretty big items to move, including a solid wood dining room table a good 4-5 inches thick. The guys that showed up did a good job, although I think they could have finished a little faster. Overall, for the price, I was satisfied and think Id use them again.
DO NOT USE ALLIANCE! You should be aware that Alliance is a broker, meaning they sub contract your move out to smaller companies. You never know what your going to get, its a game of Russian Roulette with your lifes belongings. Thats why there is a mix of Great and Terrible reviews. If there was an option for zero stars I would use it.I signed a contract with Alliance because of the fantastic low price I was quoted to move from New York to Florida. Youve heard the saying Too good to be True, well it was. The day my things were packed into the truck, the estimate doubled because I had an additional 6 (very small) boxes. The price rose from $2,000 to almost $4,000. Also, I was told to allow an 8 day window from the earliest delivery date. 8 days have come and gone. I called Alliance customer service, in an extremely rude tone, I was told The contract you signed clearly states 21 DAYS. What I was told by Sean Coleman, Alliance Certified Moving Consultant, and what was in the emailed contract are not the same. Still, shame on me for being trusting. During my conversation with Mr. Coleman, I specifically said that I would be flying to Florida to meet the movers. He assured me that they would definitely be there in the 8 day time frame. Long story short, Im flying back to New York and Im not getting my things until January, today is November 25.Do yourself a favor, do not contract Alliance for your move.
Used Alliance Moving Services back in August when I moved to San Diego, California. I was highly impressed using them the first time, so I decided to hire them a second time. I remembered how fast and helpful they were, making my move such a stress free experience; and they were just the same again. Its one thing to use their service once, but to have me coming back is a definite sign of how great they are. They called me the night before to confirm theyre service. Woke up to a call from them telling me they would be at my house in 2 hours. They are very good with communication. I had enough time for coffee and breakfast, they came exactly when they said they would. They were incredibly nice, put down SAFETY COVERS so they wouldnt scratch my wood floors with my heavy furniture they were moving into storage. They didnt bump anything, they were very careful and gentle, and loaded everything pretty quick. Helped me unlock storage and put everything in side and lock back up. Payment was exactly as I expected it to be, no surprises. Gonna use again and again. They are awesome!
A temporary transfer turned into a permanent relocation. I searched several long distance companies and received quotes from 5. Alliance was the lowest. Being on the West Coast with my belongings on the East Coast made this move somewhat of a logistical nightmare. The company said the truck may arrive in a 48 hr window. OK, I took a week off in case there were any complications. And there were. I received the confirmation call the day before pick-up, but on the pick-up day, the truck never arrived. It was a Sat, and Alliance closes early on Sat, and is not open on Sun, so I was in limbo for 2 days waiting to hear what happened. The truck did not have room for my belongings, but never called me. It took 10 days before Alliance could line up another truck. I was back West and could not meet the truck. There were extra charges for packing, extra weight, you name it. I asked if I would receive compensation for the delayed move, I was initially told $50/day, but was not allowed to speak to the claims department until my belonging arrived out West. After speaking with the customer service department many times, the story change to $20-50/day. Once my belongings arrived, I was able to speak to claims, the claims manager said this was not his responsibility, and transferred me back to customer service. After several minutes I was transferred back to claims and they sent me a form to fill out. Basically retelling the story above. In the end, I was offered $200 for the late pick-up. My stuff did arrive, but be aware, get everything in writing from this company, especially if you feel you should be receiving compensation.
0 stars. This company is smooth talking on the front end. They dont actually move your goods...they subcontract it out. They will tell you (Ruben Nettles and Jack in Quality Assurance) that weight doesnt matter, but when the subcontractor arrives to load your belongings, it strictly goes by weight. Then the charge skyrockets. I had itemized my possessions, knew the contents of every box, researched the weight of my appliances, and was still socked with nearly double the bill. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Even the dispatch manager, John Edwards, says he will still train his people to say weight doesnt matter. Bottom line, do not add a single box to your order. Ship it separately because by adding even a single item they say it voids the contract and then goes by weight. The worst part is being lied to. No apologies from them. Just doing business. Take yours elsewhere!
This company is a scam, theyre brokers. They dont really deal with the moving directly. Do not hire with them! They intentionally give you an underestimate of the moving costs to close the contract. But they subcontract to any company willing to provide a service to the clients. Once the company hired for the job arrives at the place they triple the original estimate. We had that happening to us and it was a terrible experience. The guys that arrived at our home on pick up day wanted three times the original estimate and wouldnt want to leave the house. There was so much arguing. They started lowering down the price little by little as they didnt want to let the job go. But the whole experience was so bad and their behavior and manners were so rude that we didnt trust them to take our things.Do not hire this company! The best thing you could do is hire a local company. Get an estimate from someone that goes and visits your house to see what needs to be done and gives you an accurate estimate. Its also better to meet the people doing the job, as opposed to talking to some pushy guy on the phone.
When my job relocated me I had to move quickly. I didnt have a lot of time to waste. I found Alliance online and they gave me a quote over the phone. The day of the move the movers arrived right on time and they got me all packed up with no issues. All of my items arrived at my new apartment on time and nothing was damaged or missing. The sales department, customer service people and the movers were all great.
If I could give negative stars I would! Do not use this company! We originally talked with Jon the sales rep. He was very nice, gave us great discounts, told us we would not have to pay more than the guaranteed estimate. He also told us that we were below the minimum shipping weight and we could even add pieces at no extra cost. The move would only take 4-6 days from the Washington area to Jacksonville Fla. probably less. Sounds great....its all fabrication. Movers showed up 1 day later than promised. Once loaded onto the truck he wants $700 more. This is for a move that was supposed to cost $1400. Where they get you is it states in the contract that if you add pieces the estimate is not valid. It also states that if they need to raise the price they must tell you before its put on the truck...but of course they didnt tell us that and we didnt find it till days later. I was on the phone with customer service for 45 minutes before they wore me down and I agreed to pay extra. They are very good at this. They picked up our furniture on March 24th and delivered it April 12. The contract which they again waived in our face says they are not responsible for delays caused by all kinds of things including truck breakdowns which is what they claimed. Our stuff sat in North Carolina. Jon also said they would update our delivery info daily via e mail. we didnt even know there was a problem until we called! They are supposed to give 24hrs advance notice of the delivery time but of course we got One and a half hours. That was to make sure we had the rest of the money. Our stuff did arrive in great shape but we are still missing a bag of pillows for our couch. We did however find that they delivered someone elses chair. We have called customer service, talked to Tanya twice and Beth once. They put you on hold and never call back.
Whats below a 1-star Hated It? These guys are the absolute worst - all they tell you are lies, from sales reps to customer service reps, and they have the worst attitude. They act as if its our fault that were angry were not getting what we were promised. Vanessa, the office manager, actually hung up the phone on me because I was pissed. How does she still have a job there? In a world of public online reviews, I cant believe they act the way they do. The moving company they booked for me lost 1 of my furniture pieces. I went with them because their rate was slightly cheaper than some other companies, but ITS NOT WORTH IT. I would have gladly paid double for honesty, transparency, and respect from a reputable company. Look on Yelp for my detailed review. STAY AWAY FROM ALLIANCE.
Horrible Experience!!!! this is not a moving company its a broker. They Dont stick to their quotes! We had to pay more money when they got there!Use different companies to move your stuff! The Drivers werent on time. Arriving to get our stuff they sent LV Moving company. And they came a day late. My mother and I had to move huge boxes out of the garage and then move them back in because the movers said they were to tired to come pick up our stuff. (mind you my mother is 52 and very petite and Im 53). it was very hard for us to move 2500LBS worth of stuff back and forth.Over the phone they told us 5 to 7 days tops to move from California to Florida. that it was their most common route and that our stuff would never sit in a warehouse.Once they picked up our stuff in California they took it to Nevada dropped it off in a warehouse. We called the next day to check and see if the weight was ok because they told us we were over weight when they picked up our stuff and some lady said we had to email her that we wanted our stuff otherwise it would not be delivered! We sent the email they lady said it will take 7 to 10 days. Anyways the driver who called was extremely rude he kept telling me make sure you have cash or postal money order. Not feeling comfortable giving that much cash I went and got a money order. When they got there they said he said they dont take that kind (amscot) of money order. So they made my husband go cash it. The driver was extremely rude, he said he has never had a move where things dont break and we should always expect at least two things to be broken!Horrible experience the moving company that brought our stuff was called American Home movers!
If it was possible to give a company zero stars, Alliance would surly deserve it. Moving is already a very stressful situation as anyone who has moved would know. Trying to obtain any information about our truck while in transit was absolutely impossible. In fact not only was it impossible, but they told us erroneous information. When we contacted the company who was actually moving our belongings, they were very nice and informative and informed us that Alliance is the worst company to book a move as all they do is take your money and then are the least helpful group of incompetent people. We talked to three different people (two females and one male) who identified themselves as the HEAD of the customer service department. Every time we contacted Alliance to try to obtain information, we were placed on hold as they tried to contact the driver (as they told us) and eventually came back saying that the person was very busy but he or she had left a message and they would call us back as soon as they heard back from the driver (dispatch person). This went on for 72 hours and we never received a call back from anyone. The only time we talked to them was when we subsequently called back and we got the same exact story from some other customer service person.PLEASE save yourself the time and do NOT book anything through Alliance. Plan your move with an actual moving/trucking company, not a middle man like Alliance who only books the moving company for you and is more than happy to take a significant amount of money and then leave you wondering if you had just been scammed out of thousands of dollars as well as all of your belongings!!
When I hired this company and gave them a detailed inventory list they quoted me $5,500.00 for my move. When their third party movers (Entourage Moving Services) came over they smelled of marijuana and told me it would cost me OVER $15,000. Alliance claimed that there was a huge discrepancy in the inventory list I gave them and what the movers were claiming I had. I spent hours creating that detailed list and I am positive I gave them an accurate list. Alliance refused to return my deposit of over $1100.00. Total scam artists.
STAY AWAYYY!!!!! Terrible service and screwed me over completely when it came down to my move. They are brokers and not an actual moving company which conviniently do not mention when they quote you. They also have a 3 day window to pick up your stuff something they also do not mention. The scheduled my move outside of my lease ending date which i did not know until the quality assurance call 2 days before my move and when the company scheduled to pick up my items bailed they pretended that it never happened scheduling the pick up date after my lease end date. I had to move myself out at the last minute and are refusing to give me my deposit back. It was a horrible experience where they turned my move into a complete nightmare. Save your money and go with a legitimate company that provides customer service. These people cannot be reached or hang up the phone on you and practical ignore what a paying customer is telling them!!!!
Alliance Moving Services, provided prompt service and fast delivery. Make sure to box up all of your breakable items, and ask them to wrap your furniture with blankets and bubble wrap as needed. Moving is always a difficult experience, and securing your valuables is critical. Alliance did a great job, but I made sure that everything was well protected so that we didnt have any reason to get upset if something broke or was lost.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE BOOKING AGENTS WHO LIE. WHEN THE MOVERS COME, WHAT THE BOOKING AGENT PROMISED IS THROWN OUT THE WINDOW!We booked a move for my daughter from Knoxville to Charlotte. The booking agent was a man names Ruben Nettles. He was very personable and thorough with answering our questions. He gave us a quote that he said was the final price. He also said that the price would not change even if we added 700 pounds to the move. The items to move were in a 10 x10 storage unit which was about 3/4 filled. My daughter was very detailed in telling Ruben what was to be moved. We booked the move for a Monday and he promised the delivery to be that same day. He stated that it was 85% sure that the move would take place on the Monday scheduled.Nothing Ruben promised was true. The movers called on Monday and reschedule the pick up for Tuesday between 9-11am. On Tuesday morning the movers called and delayed the move a 2nd time saying they would arrive between 12 noon and 1pm. When the 2 men arrived at around 1pm they were in an Enterprise Truck coming from Atlanta. The man who seemed to be in charge was very surly, did not speak to us. He looked over the contents of the storage unit and began to tell us that what was in the unit was not on his list. She had only one room of furniture to be moved. The rest was bags or boxes. Similar to moving a college student into a dorm room. He became very obstinate and said he had to call his boss. He then told us to move everything would be $275 more than the quoted price. We told him what we had contracted with Ruben and then he explained that Alliance was a booking agent and he had to do what HIS (Enterprise) boss told him. The movers also said that the contents would not arrive for 7-10 days. We could not believe what was happening. We were scammed. We called Alliance Customer Service and they refused to let us talk to Ruben. They also refused to help us in any way. We cancelled the move.
I loved these movers. theyre experienced and professional and incredibly patient. They loaded up all of my items in their truck safely and quickly and got to the new place the same day. There were some fragile items that I had to leave behind because they do not fit in my car but they managed to move it without any damage. It was a very simple move and I recommend them to anyone
I was taken by I smoothing talking broker. I hate to admit but I was. I was under a time line and felt the pressure. Alliance sub contracted the move to a less than ZERO moving company. (Liberty Relocation).l I ended up with missing boxes and items. $2000+ in damaged furniture. The company closed up and I did not receive any settlement for the items or damage.Save yourself and stick with the big carries directly. They are a big more money but if you want your belongings taken care of it is worth the $$.
By far the worst moving company you will ever use. They lost or broke much of my belongings and even refused to acknowledge that they gave me someone elses belongings. I tracked down the rightful owners on my own! Their insurance company dropped them as a result of too many claims against them. Horrible, flippant customer service. There is allegedly an FBI investigation against them. Huge regret using this service. Shame on Alliance for their poor business ethics. You deserve truthful reviews.
What a company! It does not move anything, although Trevor (not sure he actually exists) will tell you how well-trained their movers are and that they will have 4 well-paid movers and a driver picking up your stuff. Trevor will also personally manage your move and will be your one point contact for everything. You will never be able to talk to Trevor again. Jack will go over your stuff with you again, and be so borderline rude you wont believe it. Hell start with saying he couldnt contact us, well, he called all the wrong numbers and never left a message.Ok, after initial contact with Alliance, you will start to get emails and calls from another moving company which will be confusing until you realize that Alliance has contracted out to different low-bid company. After reading the Google reviews I realize how well we did. Our contract did get bid up, but not doubled like some people reported. So, a driver with 2 young immigrants, who were very hard working and did well, although could have used 2 more movers. Well, anyway, anything Alliance tells you about , like, put cardboard on glass..no, movers have to wrap 1st,. Take all clothes out of drawers, no, movers didnt care. Lamps ok with Trevor, not Jack (they even contradicted their own pwople). Must have cash (and lots of it) for movers, no they will take a check. I know most of this is because Alliance wasnt moving anything, although they want it to seem that way.I wont go into the details of actual move since it wasnt Alliance who moved us, but generally had stuff broken that seemed to really take some effort to break. However, the stuff we valued most made it and our experience was a light-hearted romp compared to some I read on Google reviews. Please go there for a reality check, and run as fast and as far as you can from Alliance.
Does anyone have a corporate number? This was by far the worst move I have ever experienced and I plan to file complaints with FT Bragg and FT Stewart transportation office. I am still without my furniture a month later. This company is no help since they are a broker only. So you have no idea who you will end up getting. I got Alex from Budget Movers in Raleigh, NC. I knew it was a mistake when I had people show up to my door saying they were responding to a Craigslist ad. They broke itmes, they forgot stuff, and I only missed it cause they showed up late and it was after 11pm when they left. Now, I am still trying to get my furniture!
Best Moving Service definitely deserves five stars! I called them at 7 am to request movers for that same day and without hesitation was able to book an afternoon job. They were fantastic movers. They were fast efficient and professional. Great job guys! Would HIGHLY recommend!
THE WORST DECISCION WE EVER HAD MADE IN A VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME TO WORK WITH THIS Incompetent COMPANY!!!! My mother was Stuck without service and this company not only would not to speak to me but ignored the fact these people at Alliance sold our moving contract to these State to State jerks were threading to driving off with out belongings saying they could not drive on a dirt road. Before we even agreed to a contract this company damn well knew they were going to be on a dirt road from the 1st recorded conversation setting up the contracted move! So while My 62year old no they was stuck without service the wonderful receptionist would not transfer my call to Jack to figure out the serious issues that this State to State Movers were doing to us. My grandmother is 86 years old and scared and My mother is 64 and getting bullied by these movers and making them carry their items at their age!!!! Most disrespectful receptionist and customer service reps ever at Allaince movers when they were told its and emergency!! So disappointed with such an incompetent broker company to push us off like this and ignore an emergency situation with elderly people involved!!!! These people left our personal stuff and furniture on the side of the road and threatened us numerous times! I will post all these videos and phone calls on YouTube for you all to see and hear these disgusting actions of both Alliance and State to State movers that should be called Thug rip off artists!!! You gotta listen to these jerks!! Dont ever use them people its so unprofessional!!! We even had to call the Sherriffs Dept to come take control of these people who were even armed!!!
This has been the worst moving experience of my life! This place is the biggest scam! We had no idea this company was a broker and contracted other companies. We initially spoke with Trevor who I am pretty sure doesnt even exist. He of course sold us and promised to personally take care of our service. Yea until we paid a deposit and never heard from him again. Our stuff was picked up on July 28th. It is now AUGUST 27th and we still dont have our things!!! We have been hung up on, disrespected and given the run around. This move was supposed to be a happy time for my husband and I and all it has caused us is stress and anger. We were told our truck broke down, and then the truck was packed incorrectly and then there was an issue with the driver. Excuse after excuse as to why our stuff isnt here yet. Oh and I hope you didnt think you would get a refund if they go past 21 days. We are past the 21 business day mark and they said we only are entitled to get $50 reimbursed a day. So we called and then they said oh you get UP TO $50 a day depending on your carrier. So we actually only get reimbursed $30 a day. What a terrible company. This company could give a crap about their customers. It wasnt until we threatened to call the police that they finally returned our call. After reading all of these reviews I am so prettified to see the condition of my belongings...that is if they EVER get here. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this disgusting company. Its amazing they are allowed to stay in business.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. DO NOT USE--EVEN FOR A MOVE DOWN THE STREET!!!!Pay no attention to all the fake 5 star reviews--they are indeed fakeI wish there was a spot for negative stars, because they dont even deserve 1I was just investigating the cost online and a very smooth talking rep called me instantly to get my inventory and give me a quote, which should have been the first flag for me. I could not believe that actual movers would come to my house and load all of my stuffThis company is a broker; they will take your money regardless.Heres the thing:Once you sign the contract, you have time to cancel before the quality assurance person calls you. Once they call you, it is too late to cancel, and the money you paid to reserve a truck is no longer refundable. This all sounds great, but they conveniently have the QA person call you when it is too late and will tell you things about the move that the first, smooth-talking individual did not tell you. Such as they only want cash or money order--what company does not take a credit card--they took my credit card in the beginning?!?!?!So this happened to me- the QA person called me and told me these things, my rate went up, and it was too late to cancel without losing my deposit. All of a sudden NOBODY at the company was nice any more. They were all so nice when I was still able to cancel. There was still no guarantee when the actual movers showed up that the rate would not go up more. I was told that it defiantly would not go down. I then saw all these reviews on yelp and got suspicious--but they had all these great reviews and stories on Google? Well, I decided to forfeit my $1,000.00 deposit in an effort to not be charged thousands more when the movers showed. I begged and pleaded to get my deposit back.I learned something else interesting about this company--you talk to the same person all the time!! They change their names and use a computer voice over to make you think you are talking to a different person. Youve been talking to the same person all along! I figured this out when the voice over quit working their voice would change from a male to female voice and the call would drop. Id call back and it happened again. Further proof that this company is a SCAM!!!I EXHORT YOU TO HEED THE WARNINGS AND NOT EVEN USE THIS COMPANY. IT IS WORTH IT TO PAY MORE FOR A REPUTABLE COMPANY THAN TAKE A CHANCE WITH ALLIANCE MOVING!!!
The gentleman I initially spoke to I liked. He was polite and informative. Sold me on why I should spend more with Alliance instead of competitors, did his research on them and told me why i should go with him. Once I accepted the original quote we were ready to go. That particular rep is now out of the picture, you now get his QA supervisor who is difficult to get a hold of and not as pleasant, prices go up and a third party vendor is brought in to do the move instead of Alliance. Despite what the Alliance contract stated the movers get 3/4 of our stuff on the truck and then state it is going to be much more, now that I cannot do anything about it. I called the third party who apparently is also using a third party and no one seems to know where the truck or our stuff is. No contact with the driver, no answer from the third party Eden Moving and when i do get a hold of them they have to call me back later to try and find the driver. So after 11 days since our things have been picked up we have no idea where our stuff is, we have since moved into our new house where the kids have no beds or clothes outside of what they had int he car. We would have saved $1000 to pay friends to load a Penske truck and bring it ourselves.
We just used this company moving from Santa Monica to New York City. The movers were excellent. Professional, punctual, extremely polite, they worked hard and got us out of our old place and into our new apartment in record time. Plus our little 2 year old loved them - theyre good with kids and dogs too. Would highly recommend this moving company, very good services
I havent even move and I already had the worse customer service experience!I made the mistake to made a reservation with this company over the phone, by the way they ask you to give a $500 deposit, which you can cancel at anytime. Well, once I decided to cancel my reservation Andre Faria told me via email I couldnt cancel until I spoke to him.I called, they transferred me to Andre, guess what? he wouldnt want to help me to make the cancellation and refund, as specify in the contract. I asked if I could get transferred to someone else who can assist me, he kept ignoring my request, I kept asking to get transferred, and he hanged up on me.I am in the hospitality industry, and have never had an experience like this. Think twice if you decide to book this company for your move, I am so glad I decided to pulled back. Read all the negative comments about this company, make sure you r are fully comfortable before trusting them with taking your stuff elsewhere.
APPALLING SERVICE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!My final price was DOUBLE the original quoted price, I received 4 boxes of items that arent mine, and all of my clothes and furniture STINK like stale smoke - I had to wash all of my clothes and the company are refusing to pay to dry clean the rest. And now Im forced to waste hours of my day on the phone with unhelpful staff, trying to negotiate the items to be collected - which Im sure the rightful owners would like returned to them - and to be compensated for the additional costs. Moving is stressful enough without an experience like this - I suggest you find an alternative company.
ZERO stars is what they deserve. Kyle P. is the devil in disguise and could care less about your move. He just wants to make a sale to get his money!! He will talk a good talk and is a salesman for sure, but does he care about you or your move???? NO!!!!!!!! DO not use this broker moving company. They sell your job to any old moving company and wipe their hands clean of any issues that come up with the moving company they sell your job to. Go with a moving company that is actually a moving company, not a broker that steals your money and could care less about you as a customer.
Oh Wow, where to begin. I am rewriting to make sure this is posted with Google.Again, my name is Gia Jacobs. My experience with Alliance which is a broker, not your moving company, or their policies when it comes down to the move. The beginning of my experience began with Jules D., then Jack in Quality Control at Alliance. I had asked for last names, but they will not give out that info. Then the final day of initial pick-up you receive a staff that is not part of Alliance, not to mention new contract, new set of regulations.May I start with Jules D. having very friendly conversations with my Mother, Gloria and myself for close to an hour. Just assuring us all will be professionally taken care of.Toward the very end before initial pick-up, I tried several times to return calls to Jack in Quality Control. When I pursued in the calling, Jack did take my call, but then explained to me that his supervisor John (again tried to get a last name with no success) had requested they close the file and not take our calls. Now I realize what my Mother did not know, Alliance was only the broker. They were done! When State to State arrived, with new contract....they explained to my Mother that their truck could not get through her (very wide) gate, and that our items would have to be walked to the truck and charged us, per square foot in walking to shuttle items. My items were 13 pieces I believe. At that point, what is a client or customer to do? You do it. Trusting again. When State to State arrived at the Ranch in Lake George, CO., I was faced with Alex and especially sweet Krista, that their contract reads they cannot drive on dirt roads, when all of this was explained to Jules, and Jack with Alliance initially with all of our telephone conversations. Ranches usually do have dirt roads, dont ya think?State to State wanted their cash almost immediately without unloading one item. They saw that I had a flat bed with friends at my side, thank God! I told them when I see my Mothers things, I will pay them their cash. They said it does not work that way, and let us know they were leaving. Which Krista did say, she had a notion to continue driving and keep our things. Can you just imagine this?Once I showed them the cash, and suggesting our Sheriff be called, Alex calmed down. Not Krista. That woman is a detriment and casualty to any employer. The stress that my elderly Mother and I went through causes me to post this review anywhere and everywhere. Nobody should have to experience this unprofessional, broken company with broken people. Completely without integrity, completely rude staff without any concern for our treasures, and certainly our feelings. My items totaled thirteen, and I was charged over 2,000.00 and at upon arrival at the ranch, they would not accept the flat bed available through very dear friends, saying their contract reads that they are to shuttle!....which meant I believe another 200.00 would have been charged to me. I refused with much support from two dear friends, standing at my side. Thank you Julie and Allen.Alliance/State to State....you work together, and do not deserve one star.Sincerely, gia
I would avoid using Alliance Moving Services under any conditions. They didnt even bother to show up! I booked them 3 months ahead of the move and received my call that they would be there at a certain day and time, not one I originally agreed to, but they didnt show up or call. Calls to there customer service dept. were ignored. When I spoke with John Edwards, President and part owner , he said these things happen and it was my problem. His exact words were that I was one of those people who just didnt understand the business and that I was the problem.Good luck if you book with these so called movers.
This company is FAMOUS for posting fake, generic, 5 star reviews in order to save their asses. If you want to find out the truth about them just go on Yelp. I used them and had the WORST moving experience of my life. It has not only costed my valuable family heirlooms and money but many tearful moments. After the way they treated my situation (by subcontracting the worst company on the planet) I felt violated. They broke and lost most of my things and then harassed me over the phone for more money. DONT USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!!
This is a 100% bonifide bait and switch. I was warned but I fell for it because of the name1. They subcontract to scam artists2. No matter how close you make sure to detail your items. The scamming subcontractor WILL add a couple grand3200 original quote to 4800 on the day of move. The salesman will be so accommodating until u pay deposit, then they wont even let you talk to him. Apparently he didnt need the negative energy distracting him3. They will come days late, we had to be out and they completely messed us up4. They delivered over ONE MONTH LATE!!!5. Our stuff was damaged, they would not deliver till we paid first, we couldnt even inspectWith good faith to my fellow man, I urge to not use this company or other companies like this. Please please feel free to contact me if you have any question, dont screw yourself
Bait and Switch Practices. Company will quote a low ball offer and then hit you with massive charges. First this company only cares about making a sale. They will quote you a price for roughly 1/2 to 2/3 rd of the price making your move relatively cheap. They do this by at the end using cubic ft as their cost/per move value. Say you have 700 cu/ft and at the end you use 800. They charge you 800 cu/ft at 2.95c for the entire move. Once your locked into the contract with the deposit they wait until 5 days before the move to tell you that its too late to get your deposit back and your not allowed to talk to your sales person. My entire move was supposed to cost 2.4k. It cost me over 3.5K because my stuff used more cu/ft than the quoted amount. When I gave them exact measurements down to the inch. There was no question about cu/ft and somehow they worked it out to be more. This company are a bunch of liars and scammers. They promised me pickup of thursday and showed up friday. Then told me 1-6 business days for delivery when they told me with absolute certainty that delivery would be saturday afternoon. My stuf is now supposed to show up WEDSNESDAY. Leaving me without clothes in a strange city for a week or more. Their assurances are worthless. They lie to your face and dissappear when you need them. They are condescending when dealing with them on the phone knowing that they have you over a barrel.
THE WORST MOVING COMPANY ENER!BE AWARE!They are just a bunch of liars! We had a horrible experience with Alliance. On the day they were supposed to pick up our stuff they were many hours late. Every time we called them to check whats going on, talking to different people, we got many different lies and excuses. Once it was a problem with a truck, another time, one on the employees hurt his foot, another time, the driver was stopped by the police...Any lie they can tell you - they will!Anyway they finally came! They wanted to get some extra money from us saying that the weight of all boxes SEEMS to be higher than the estimated weight, so it will be 800$ more! We wanted proof before paying extra money. They were supposed to give it to us after weighing everything later, but they never got back to us in that matter, which meant, that they weighted everything and it wasnt more than estimated, or they were too lazy to do it.Anyway they packed our stuff on the truck. It was June 27th. We were moving from NYC to Arizona. They told us that the delivery will be on July 10th.On july 5th and 9th we called them to make sure everything is according to the plan and the truck will be in Arizona on July 10th. They confirmed that.On July 10th after couple of hours of missed delivery time, we called Alliance to check when exactly the truck with our stuff will arrive. On the delivery day we had been told that the truck hasnt even left NYC yet!You would think that its a joke, but unfortunately they were serious...I will skip the part of our frustration and not having so many things that we needed. On top of this they werent even able to tell us when the delivery will finally happened. We called many times and every time there was a RUDE person on the phone, not giving a s*it about our stuff. The truck with our stuff arrived on July 27th - 17 days later then it was supposed to happen! Some of the boxes were in terrible condition. Few broken things, but to be honest I expected even worse seeing how people in this company work!
Horrible. Customer service (Reuben and John) was very rude, and not understanding at all. They sent a separate contracted company to move my items, which to me looked very unemployed, non-professional, and thug-like. Recklessly dropped/moved my stuff and ruined my tile/ceiling fan, threw cigarettes on my lawn, and overpriced my move by 1 whole grand from its original estimate. When items came to me, many were broken or dismantled, and some were even unusable. Do not recommend at all.
I have been waiting for 14 days past the day the company was supposed to pick up my household goods. Still nothing. They dont call to keep me updated, there is evidently still no plan to move me. Yet they retain my deposit. I tried reaching out to them through the BBB and they still havent replied. I really need my stuff ASAP.
The third party companies that they use are horrible. When I called them to complain they tried to solve the problem with the other company but as of today I still have not heard back from them. Its been 5 months and I still do not have all my belongings. Be wary of the third party companies that these moving companies use. You think you are hiring Alliance, but the truth is you are NOT. They do not do the work and hire incompetent third parties.
It is unfortunate that we didnt read the reviews on this so called company before our poor 81 year old mother used them. Trust all the bad reviews about this place! They will rip u off as they are trying to do to my mom now! They do exactly as the other people say they quote a price & then whoever they sub contract with will come load your stuff & then tell you that you have to pay hundreds of dollars more for boxes ect that u never even saw go on the truck & give you some shady invoice that doesnt even break down what they are trying to charge you for. And then when you try talking to their so called customer service manager Tania who has NO customer service skills what so ever she will litterally argue with you and talk over you and when you ask to speak to her boss she says she doesnt have one and will not let you speak to anyone else and when I asked to speak to the owner she said nobody can reach him and that he hasnt been in the office for two years! So I hope the owner of this company sees this and reads the reviews of how your company is being ran and how what customers you do get are being ripped off and treated horribly! Word of mouth is even better and you can bet facebook is great for getting the word out for no one to ever use your company or eco van lines who they sub contracted with out of maryland! I have called them 5 times to get and invoice and still have not gotten a call back. Lets see if they have time to speak to our lawyer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY DESERVE NEGATIVE STARS
Worst company ever. Told me 3 to 10 days has been 3 weeks. After this company takes your hefty deposit, all of a sudden your first appraisal disappears. Mine started at 1700 after they loaded it was 4000. Customer service is a joke. They dont help and act like youre the problem. What they tell you on the phone is not what is on there paperwork. Classic bait and switch. Please do yourself a favor and find someone else.
I have to move a lot for work. Sometimes they give me a few months notice and sometimes its only a few weeks. I found myself needing to move fast. I found Alliance through Yellow Pages and they did a great job. I would definitely work with them again and I highly recommend them.
Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with these movers. They subcontracted the move, and the subcontractors did not follow the instructions to put the items in storage. They then showed up at the destination at a time when delivery was not scheduled, and asked for cash payment for an amount that was not worked out in advance, and told us that if delivery was not accepted there would be a $350 redelivery charge. I would NOT use them again.
Great company, Helpful employees and great service. They helped me move from my dorm to my new apartment on the second floor, I never heard one of the employees complain and they always looked happy.I recommend this service to anyone and everyone for moves big or small.
If i could hive -10 stats i would. They tricked me and made me pay double of what they say they would charge me. They promised me a date and apparently the contract said a date 21 days later. Read allnod their little leters with dates and prices. They are cheaters and they decieve people.
Customer Service was awful. The employees talk down to you on the phone (that is if you can get one of them on the phone to begin with), dont return calls, dont explain their procedures in an upfront manner and overall have no idea what customer service is! I would not recommend this place to anyone!

2021-05-13Moved from Wisconsin to New York City and it was miserable. Said they would pick my stuff up on a Tuesday then said they didnt have a truck available. Didnt get my stuff until the following Monday. Then had to pay an additional $500 in shipping costs. No one ever called me to explain the situation. I had to call them and forget calling me back. Then they took forever to deliver my stuff to my place in NYC. Ive been here 1.5 weeks and still no belongs. Will never use Alliance again and would NOT recommend them.

2014-06-13We have used Alliance Moving Services on 2 occasions (one local move & one interstate) and overall I had found them to be great movers. They made the process much easier and pain free. When it came to the local move their communication and promptness was great throughout the process. When it came to the interstate move our things had been picked up and transported very quickly. On both occasions our items were packed and unpacked very carefully and I did not see a scratch on any of our items. Would definitely use them in the future and would recommend them to anyone needing movers.

2014-08-22Ive moved a number of times in my adult life, and it has always been a nightmare to initiate, coordinate, and execute. Ive failed to find a company that is competent and consistent from start to finish, and when disaster ensues, it makes moving a timely and stressful maneuver. I got a recommendation for Alliance Moving Services from my boss at my new job, and Im happy to say that for the first time, my move didnt have me pulling my hair out; it was actually easy, pleasant, and well organized. When I first researched Alliance Moving Services, I was happy to see that they are fully ensured and seem to have a great reputation. I called them and received friendly, professional service. They asked all of the right questions that many movers seem to conveniently forget (then up their price the day of) and the quote they gave me was accurate and reasonable; no changes the day of, or extra unexpected charges. On the day of the move, the team that showed up was right on time. They were well-trained, considerate, and extremely organized. I told them that moving makes me really anxious, and they put me at ease considerably. For once, none of my things disappeared or wound up broken. It was a truly flawless and easy moving experience.

2015-03-18My mom wanted to move from CA to UT so she could be closer to family so she asked for my help in coordinating the effort. After getting three price quotes my mom felt the most comfortable with Alliance. Once the decision was made to go with them, I set up times for workers to help her pack and return the next day to load up the truck. My wife flew out to help my mom and said the workers were courteous, professional and quick. When the delivery truck arrived in UT, the guy in charge gave me a call and said they were early and wanted to know if it would be all right if the delivery was made on such short notice. I said most definitely. Jeremy and his team of two other movers unloaded my moms stuff into her apartment at the retirement center in less than three hours. My wife was with my mom while the movers were working. Once again, she said they were friendly, uniformed, courteous and really great to work with.I should also mention that James Vincent worked with me behind the scenes to get things set up in CA and when it was time to take it to the national level, I worked with Jack. Both fellas were great to work with. Trying to manage a CA move from UT can be stressful but with all of the people who worked on this move, it was as stress free as something like this can be. ultimately Id select them again.

2014-07-11I was very impressed with this company. My wife and I had to move with our kids so we hired them to assist with moving our belongings. They gave us a free quote and it seemed very reasonable compared to other places that we called. The movers came and asked questions and explained why they were packing certain things in a particular way. I pretty much figured they were professionals so I trusted them. They finished packing up relatively quick. Pretty much they arrived at the new apartment on time and they did a good job. Nothing was broken and everything was in great condition. I found this company to be a great company to work with and would use them again if I need to.

2014-06-13I dont usually comment or review products/services unless they really good or really bad... I cannot tell you how happy I was with the Alliance Moving Services. The packing crew, who carefully packed and wrapped all my gear, were friendly and helpful. Moving house is one of the most stressful things to do, pack up your life and move onto your new path. They were understanding and made the process seamless and a good one. I was so happy with Alliance Moving Services that I told my cousin to use them. They werent the cheapest, but, sometimes, I think you get what you pay for! In this case, I can say we got professionalism. My cousin was also over the moon with the guys that shifted her gear. Nothing was an issue and I would have to say Id use them again.

2014-05-15Moving from one state to another is difficult in itself. Alliance Moving Services made the transition much better for me and my family. We moved from Michigan to Louisiana. Although the movers pack everything for you, I had some items that I wanted to pack myself. I appreciated the YouTube tutorials that Alliance has on their website for how to properly pack some essentials. I wanted to be extra careful with my wedding china and framed family photos. I was quite pleased with the professionalism of the sales rep on the phone and with the movers. We had a lot of stuff from previous moves in our 4 bedroom house which included a fully furnished basement. The movers were very efficient with their time and organization. When the movers arrived at our new home in Louisiana, they carefully placed the boxes and furniture in rooms as instructed. They set up the beds and miscellaneous furniture for us. That was a huge help especially in my toddler’s room! My china and picture frames were intact. Before leaving, they went over the itemized bill and inventory of items with me and my husband. I would definitely recommend Alliance for your moving needs.

2014-05-06Hey fellow Yelpers!Id never tried hiring movers before, and chose Alliance Moving Services on a friends recommendation. Im more than glad I did. I usually go the U-Haul route and am used to being stressed out over packing arrangements, but these guys were pros from the start. Not only did they move my 3 bedrooms of furniture quick with no hassle, they even helped me pack a few boxes that I hadnt been able to finish up yet! The service was courteous and friendly to say the least. After the truck was loaded, all I had to do was provide the destination address, and the movers knew the city well enough to be able to get there. They actually got there before I did! I opened up the house and they got right to it until it was done, simple as that. They were able to get VERY close to the over-the-phone estimate I was initially given, and I was happy to pay the small amount over that because of their great service and attention to detail. Moving is a very personal thing, and these guys treated my possessions as their own.All things considered, I would choose Alliance Moving the very next time I move (which hopefully isnt for a LONG time!). They took a huge amount of stress off of my plate, so that I could focus on the legalities of my home purchase and my family. Ill probably never go the U-Haul method again, I just cant think of a reason to! Thanks Alliance, hope this review helps others to discover your great service.-Winston, Satisfied!

2014-08-23Alliance Moving Services was fantastic!!The service was great, and reasonably priced! I was expecting the movers to arrive between 9-10am on a Saturday morning and they arrived exactly at 9am, the guys were friendly, professional and speedy. They handled my most prized possessions w/ great care (my giant TV!)...everything went so smoothly , which was a great relief, as moving is so stressful!! These guys offer a great service and I would def hire them again when the time comes!
