We recently went here to celebrate a birthday. We went early in the day on Saturday, and it wasnt very busy right at opening. Everyone was very well distanced, there were plexiglass partitions, and everyone was wearing a mask. We felt relatively secure to be there. The biggest highlight of the day definitely had to be Thomas, the shift leader. He was fun, personable, and as helpful as could be. He even hopped back into the kitchen to make us some pizza when the cook didnt show up on time.He made us feel very welcome, and checked on us, and what few other people were there constantly. He helped our nervous little group celebrate as successfully as anyone could hope in these weird times we are currently living in.If things start going back to normal soon, we could definitely see ourselves going here more regularly. Thanks again, to Thomas and his staff.
Front desk ppl was not friendly. We had 7 ppl there only 4 bowling for my grandson Birthday we were allowed 4 chairs but yet the group next to us had extra chairs from another table nothing was said until we said it to the worker that was wiping tables down. We did have a nice friendly server with our food and drinks. However I will never go there again. My grandson is in a bowling league at the one in Webster
Our family spends a lot of time at Fairview Lanes. From practice, to leagues, and birthday parties, the management and staff always goes above and beyond to ensure we are taken care of! Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve watched the staff work tirelessly to accommodate all DOH guidelines while keeping the patrons safe and comfortable. My family is actually considering bowling exclusively at AMF Fairview Lanes because Val and her team have always treated us so well. So clean, so friendly, so professional!
I bowl in a league, everything is clean and tidy. Fair prices, good lane conditions, the occasional “disco” time with colorful lights and music is a great experience, and I have been enjoying my home alley since I could walk (I’m currently 14).I would recommend this to anybody who wants to bowl recreationally or seriously. Staff are very helpful and cheerful and always willing to stop what they are doing to help you.
Not a great experience, staff were not friendly. I called before going, asking if their were “open bowling “ hours the person who picked up told me until 6pm I also asked if I could use a Groupon I purchased and she told me it was fine . As soon as I got there (3:45pm) I told the man at the front desk I was using my 2 hr bowling groupon he quickly told me we would have to get off the lanes at 5:30pm and I responded that I spoke to someone earlier and said we would be fine until 6 he reluctantly told me he would do his best but their would be league bowlers behind us anxiously waiting to bowl . We brought our young children and they were not equipped with extra bowling ramps kids use to bowl . I ask the man at the front desk when we got our shoes and lane he stated they only had two and they were being used . I asked another gentleman to help me get the game started he RUDELY pointed to the directions BEHIND me and said “ the directions are right there “ pressed a button and walked away . We played our first game and I went to the front desk to ask again for the bowling ramps and they were still “in use” i felt as if they were annoyed with me asking . 5:30p they were sweeping the floors around us obviously telling us it was time to go .. 85 wasted!!! If I could give this place no stars I would !! Customer service skills SUCK!!!
The food is okay but nothing special. The bowling can be expensive, $6.50 pet player pet game on Sunday is a joke. $50+ just for 2 games w 3 players and one is only 5. Either bowling has just gone up a lot in price or this place is a rip off. Its a decent atmosphere inside maybe a 4 out of 5. Avoid Sundays before 5pm at all costs though because it will cost you.
My daughter had a great 7th birthday party with 13 of her friends. We had three lanes and it worked out perfectly. I would definitely recommend the birthday party there as all the employees were helpful, responsive, and big part of making our party a success. Thanks to AMF Fairview for a wonderful time! :)
The staff here is amazing, food is surprisingly great (I recommend the pizza or one of the sandwiches) and the fact that they have a pool table and corn hole, that is icing on the top. The staff here truly makes this the go to bowling alley in the area, as you can bowl anywhere, but you cant get service like they provide anywhere else
Never again will I go to this bowling alley!! It was a Wednesday night around 5:30. My wife and our two kids (3 & 6) Bowled two games plus the shoe rentals ended up costing us 72.00!!! Unreal!! Its no wonder bowing alleys are going broke. Never again will I visit This or any other bowing alley that charges 6.50 a game and 5 bucks each for shoe rentals. Total killer to a great time had.
The Good: Employees are all super nice. Smaller place, kind of old school inside, quick bar service, good selection of beers. The Bad: Lanes are super oily, personally I think they over do them. If you throw a straight ball, its great. If your ball breaks youre in for a struggle until you get used to how slippery they are.The Ugly: You simply cant go during normal hours without some sort of Groupon or with them running a special (I think after 10pm its flat rate) or you will get price gouged. We had four of us there on Friday night, bowled from 7-9 oclock, which would normally be around $40-$75 all in, but they charged us over $140. It was ridiculous. With a few rounds of drinks we spent over $200 there. Just way out of line with what everyone else charges (Radio Social is flat rate $30 per hour, we would have spent $60 there). One employee said thats why the parking lot was empty on a Saturday prime time, they had no specials running and we never checked the rates. Total bait and switch because we had a Groupon but they said you had to get there before 6 to use it.We will go back here for sure, but never without calling first and finding out what pricing will be.
I will absolutely never ever go back here ever again. $100 for 5 people to bowl for just 2 games. No wonder this place is going under. Radio Social is a million times better, $15 per hour no matter how many people you have. On top of that the place is not updated at all, go to Radio Social and it’s absolutely clean & beautiful inside. Customer service is horrendous as well. This place isn’t going to last.
I am a league bowler at AMF Fairview Lanes, in Fairport, NY. I had the worst experience last night with the General Manger. When we arrived for our scheduled league (Saturday night Mixers) we found we were bowling on the end pair of the league (17&18). There was open bowlers right next to us on 19 & 20, which wasnt a huge deal as we had not started yet and they seemed composed and respectful of others. We were not asked if this was okay with us, as league bowlers, and we did not make a big deal out of it because they were very nice and understood lane courtesy. We bowled 1 game next to the open bowlers while they bowled 3 games and had no issues. About a half hour later the lane next to us turned on and approximately 9 children came to the lane next to us, taking over the entire settee area, spilling into our lanes as well. They were all older children, that clearly did not need bumpers, but bumpers were put up as well. When we asked the children to remain on their assigned lane they were rude and did not respond. I approached the counter, where I found an employee in a black shirt (no name tag) and another employee with a blue shirt (again no name tag). I asked to speak to the manager and the one wearing the blue shirt stated that she was the General Manager. I explained that we are league bowlers in a sanctioned league and by USBC standards we should be granted at least one lane courtesy. She then acknowledged that we should have one lane courtesy and that the new employee issued the lane. She then told me that the parents of the children were informed that they would need to keep an eye on the children (not one parent in sight of the group), they were at the bar. Once I asked the General Manager, again no name tag to do something about the situation and about all the children in our settee area, she came down and said she is trying to figure it out. She seemed upset with us and acted like we were the burden and in the wrong. While we were discussing the options of either dealing with the chaos or moving to the pair that had just finished bowling because they bowled the blind, one of the kids spilled a drink all over the settee area. The liquid and ice went all over both settee areas. She never offered an apology nor did she really do anything to help the situation. I was the one that suggested we move one pair to the left where teams had all ready finished. Moving 2 teams of league bowlers, all their equipment, food, drinks and families is not the easiest and was frankly a huge, unavoidable inconvenience. Her customer service was the worst I have ever dealt with in the many years I have spent in bowling centers. The General Manager was more concerned with socializing with the bartender and outside doing who knows what then dealing with the league problems that she had a hand in starting. I understand that people make mistakes and that things happen, but the least she could have done was apologized to the two teams effected and try to make it right. Instead, me, one of your customers, had to suggest to her what to do in this situation. I will have to think very long and hard about where my family and I will be bowling next year in the 4 leagues that we bowl in. My wife and I are very reasonable people, and have worked in the bowling industry the majority of our lives, both for AMF and independent centers and as part of the management team. That being said, we understand the situation and sympathize, but are very disappointed in our treatment and with the way the situation was handled. In the past AMFs policy has been that you cant teach customer service, but you can teach bowling... I believe in this particular case the manager clearly has no idea about either. Thank you for reading, and I hope that in the future the General Manager at AMF Fairview Lanes will be a bit more receptive and helpful.Disappointed league bowler
Either bowling got expensive or this place is a rip off. $6.50 a game per person plus $5.50 for shoes. Ovet $50 for 2 games it cost. Atmosphere is okay may be 4 of 5. Food is like a 3 of 5 maybe 3.5. Im looking at other places in Rochester for weekend bowling with my son now.
Wouldn’t accept my Global Entry ID (issued by DHS/CBP) because they had “never seen it before.” Didn’t happen to have my drivers license with me so they refused to serve me and my friends drinks, because they suspected their ID’s were fake too. Lanes were overly oiled, sodas were expensive, and the music choice was pretty awful when I went (not helped by being totally sober). Never coming here again.

2022-01-02Booked an event here for NYE with family. It was so well run, they had a swag bag waiting for us with New Years celebration stuff which we loved.Tables were set and ready. Check in was so easy as was getting shoes. They brought out food staggered and in with good timing for our 2 hour block (plenty of time to enjoy and early enough that we weren’t starving). The lanes and balls are in good condition, everything was clean. Staff was super nice. We loved the fake countdown during our 2:30 blocked time, it was really fun and festive.Best of all, they had a reminder notice to keep masks on, which everyone did. And the lanes next to us were empty, it looked like they scheduled ppl every other lane.Overall it was so smooth and easy and safe for us to have a great time. We also bought arcade credit (which was such a great deal with our package) and the games are all in great condition too. The only (slight) negative I would say is that the food is okay, (although I liked the cookies a lot) but it’s what I expected for the price and for a bowling alley, and I didn’t mind that at all. I would 150% do this again!!!!

2022-06-21Nice place, but super expensive, i reserved a lane for 2 hours, and in order to reserve a lane you have to put a $60 food deposit, paid $200 & we didnt even get through 2 full games of bowling.

2021-11-08What a great gem of a place for family fun, right down the street from us. We came in today for open bowl with our 6 year old+twin 5 year olds. They had plenty of lanes open, shoe sizes for everyone, and it was SO clean! I even saw the attendants vacuuming and wiping down tables right after a group left. My girls especially loved the dinosaur ramp to help them get their ball down the lane. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly. We will definitely be back!

2021-01-31We are at this bowling alley on a weekly basis and I must say it is one of friendliest and cleanest! The staff is friendly and always gets you what you need. The staff is quick and frequently checks in on you. They clean everything... the balls, the ball return, the scoring table, chairs, tables, etc. The bathrooms are clean and you never have to worry about the toilet paper being empty. Thank you for making our bowling experiences awesome!!
