Stopped for lunch...that will never happen again! Food was good but the service was the worst. Sat in the bar which usually has great service. Watched our drinks get warm while he played with the cougars at the bar, watched people that came after us get their food first..then I went to the bar to pay and he gave me a nasty comment when I had to ask for the bill. Theres too many good places to eat in Canandaigua to have nasty service!
Dont trust their hours, their front door was locked 45min prior to their closing time. The closing time online and posted on the front door was the same, and 45min after when we tried to go. Lights were still on, and customers were still inside eating. Guess this is the new entitled lazy generation of staff that wanted to make sure they went home on time. Must be nice to have a job you get to lock the customers out so you can be sure to go home on time. It used to be if hours were posted until a certain time, a business was open to that time. Even the DMV gets this right!! Hopefully the higher ups see this and realize what their employees are pulling.
Been going there for years. Recently food quality going downhill. Order chicken and shrimp 2 weeks ago, chicken was tuff and had little taste.i didnt say anything though one time problem have ordered same thing many times. Ordered again today, was the same told waitress her response its only a piece of chicken must be a funny chicken, she walked awayPaid, did not finish and left. Realize now should have asked for manager after 10 years, lost a customer
I ordered pick up through Grubhub last night. When I pulled in to a pick up spot, I called and said I was there. They asked if I ordered through Grubhub, to which I replied yes. They said I had to go inside to pick up the order. I asked if they could just bring it out to me, (I could see the women standing just inside the door, where my order was sitting and waiting for me. I have gotten pick up before and they have always brought it out, no problem, from that door) my kids were asleep in the car. The woman said no and hung up on me. So I drove to the front, woke up my four year old and then carried an asleep three year old to the front door and asked for my order. The person at the front told me I had to walk to the back past the bar to get my order, so here I am with my half awake four year old and an asleep three year old weaving through tables, to go back to that same spot I was just staring at through the window. The woman handed me my order in my free hand I was holding my asleep three year old with. I ended up waking up my three year old trying to get out the door holding him, my four year old, and now a bag of food. I would have understood if they were busy, but there were too women standing in front of my order on an otherwise empty shelf. I have never been so ashamed of a place. When I worked in customer service I would have never let anyone go through that, let alone someone with two young children. It would have take 30 seconds for them to walk out that door and hand me my order.
Service was good. Got our refills quickly, and before we ran out. The steak and garlic potatoes were very good. Boneless wings arent really wings as much as chunks of chicken breast. The sauce wasnt bad, just really thick. And its pretty dark in there. Ultimately, I left full and would consider going back to try some of the other offerings they have.
Went here for my birthday and the food was great! it isnt going to be great consistently, but tbh you shouldnt be at a restaurant consistently. the server I had was great, and all around it should be a place you should at least consider for a celebration or just to eat :)
Never again. Ridiculous experience at Applebees in Canandaigua, NY. They would not allow me to purchase a side salad as a meal. I didn’t like their salad options so wanted to order 2-3 side salads and have it served in one large bowl. Apparently that is too complicated for them. So I will take my business to an establishment that can handle a simple request!!!
We ordered the 2 for $29 which was the way to go (for us). I had the steak (with grilled mushrooms and onions) and shrimp which I thoroughly enjoyed and came on a sizzling hot plate.My wife had the pasta dish (sorry dont remember which one). It was fine according to her.Place was not crowded when we arrived and they seemed to have adequate staffing as we were attended to and served quickly.
We came on a busier Saturday night, after Halloween celebrations for a bite to eat. Group of 4, we split appetizers and ordered mostly burgers. Waitstaff was really good, very accommodating. They were attentive to every question and request we had, and made the meal enjoyable.
Our server Jordan was really nice! She took good care of us. But the kitchen crew got every single one of our meals wrong, food was cold. They forgot some of my daughters items and it wasn’t even that busy. This place has gone down hill the past couple years. This used to be my favorite place but not so much anymore. Probably won’t be giving this company my money much anymore.
Service was great! Cook however, pretzels were cold in the middle. The hamburger was suppose to be well done and no pink. It came out pink. The manager replaced both items, but with no compensation for the poor prepared food and was hardly apologetic. The fresh hamburger, cooked correctly, was delicious. We were not from this area and were disappointed.
Ive tried to like this place, but it just isnt happening. The mango iced tea was tasteless so I asked for no ice on the second glass thinking it was just watered down but that one tasted like it was wrung out of a dirty rag. How can a restaurant ruin iced tea ????. Whatever mix they use should be tossed. The food was was also tasteless for spending $55.+ . For 2 old people hunting a nice meal, Id rather go to Subway.
The whole staff not concerned with conversation. They were not rude but none of the staff interacted with the customers. Ordered an appetizer, our meal was served first & I asked about the appetizer she said oh will be out shortly. We were pretty much done with our meal & asked again about the appetizer. Oh its coming out now. I advised we no longer wanted it. She was sort of irritated. I asked for an appetizer not desert! My server or any of the servers never gave me a chance to ask for ketchup. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Theres nothing really else to say when discussing about Applebees as there food is up to there standards and when I went today, I got there sirloin steak which was exceptional as well as there fries (although they werent crispy). One thing, and its not there fault, I had there garlic beans as a side and Im sensitive to dairy products so that was something I was unaware of as it contained milk, but its not a big deal as you can change there sides to your liking. Overall exceptional service.
Good food, but we asked if we could have another side other than fries, the waitress listed all the options, we chose salad.... she brought the salads, mediocre at best. Then she brought our sandwiches with fries, she apologized and said we would not be charged for the fries, which we werent, but we were charged $ 1.99 for the salads which were supposed to replace the fries. She told us that there was a $1.99 upcharge for the salads. Wouldve been nice if she told us that when we chose the salads to replace the fries.
Not good, Food was ok but had alot of little issues with things. When the entree came out it was not good either. Biggest issue was everything lacked flavor. Everything seemed super bland. Waitress was ok, never asked or was given a refill, but as soon as we told her about the issues she got very short and immediately brought the check as to say she was done serving us.
Ordered the steak with shrimp and parmesan cheese dinner. The first steak was over done and charred on the edges. It was supposed to be medium. Waitress was great, she immediately addressed it, and I got another steak dinner. Unfortunately, I had to leave, so dinner was to go. Got home and this steak was barely cooked!! Haha, never again. Not the servers fault. The fault lies within the kitchen. Not funny guys, makes you look bad. Unfortunately, I cant give a good rating.
My wife and I have been going to this location for several years and always enjoyed a positive and consistent experience that kept us coming back.Tonight, she and two of her friends went there to enjoy dinner, and it was like nothing she had ever experienced there before. All of their dishes were made so poorly that she said it was like there was a whole new kitchen staff who didnt know what they were doing, and when she said something about it to their server she got the distinct impression that it wasnt the first time she was hearing it.This is VERY disappointing, and hopefully not a sign of what to expect for the future there.
First time returning since their reopening due to the COVID-19 pandemic,and was very impressed with their regulations and rules for social distancing. It was very safe and very relaxing and not a stressful environment by any means. The staff is always very welcoming,nice,and professional. The atmosphere is great and focused towards the local community. Food is always great, and tastes incredible! Prices are really fair as well. The manager of the property even went table to table and asked everyone how they were and how the meal was. This is definitely one of my favorite Applebees and local restaurants. Would highly recommend to anyone.
You attempted to have my father arrested yesterday, after a dispute over no to weak ADA seating standards for me. I had rolled up after the dispute. We decided on a very nice Bistro instead. You would have your wheelchair using patrons take a table against a wall, with very poor view, and chemicals nearby. Also wondering how the health and safety people would feel about that! Addendum 7/8: I understand your district manager extended an apology to my father. This matter is now settled on my end.
I went there in canadaguia and we had to wait over an hour for our order to come and I ordered a slightly pink hamburger in and the one they brought me was completely cold and bloody Raw it was awful I will never go there again and thats a shame because Im a big fan of Applebees that was the worst service I ever had at one
We ordered curbside to go for 6:00 pm, I marked on the website I was there and even called and confirmed my name vehicle and parking spot. 45 minutes go by and I call again because they are busy I then find out the food has been sitting for 20-30 minutes we get the food at it completely cold all the way through we paid $50 for a meal that a fast food restaurant could have one-upped.
I ordered shrimp broccoli Alfredo, a side of shrimp, mashed potatoes, a garden salad, chips & spinach artichoke dip, and two Pepsi’s.Pepsi’s were good.The curbside to go lady was nice...Alfredo tasted so cheap, broccoli was crunchy, potatoes had absolutely no flavor, the chips were stale and unevenly/overly salted.Damn Shame.
I called at 3pm to ask about seating for family of 9 and was told no reservations but should be an issue if at the time we were looking. First of our group got there and was told 40 minute wait which was no big deal. Went south there as the waitress gave us a bad attitude from start. We were split into two groups. Saving grace was the waiter that replace the original one. Had we known ahead of time that we could not sit together we would have gone elsewhere. Very disappointed and probably done with them.
My daughter and I enjoyed a 2/25 special yesterday during lunch time. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the host Garrett. He was very friendly and carried on with small talk as he was seating us. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very prompt with taking our order and helping us to cash out when it was time. My daughter enjoyed the burger meal as part of the 2/25 special. It was massive. Of course, she was not able to finish it, and took the rest of it home as a late afternoon snack. I enjoyed the bourbon chicken and shrimp meal. At first, I thought the meal looked kind of small, but looks can be deceiving. Although I was able to finish it up in the restaurant, it did fill me up pretty well. We enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. Delicious.
My family and I went for half price appetizers and drinks. Our waitress was AMAZING. She was fast to get our order and drinks. Not once did we have to ask for another drink. I could go on and on about her amazing service. She was was a sweet and funny gal. Thanks Dena for rocking your job!!!!!
When we arrived there were many open booths & tables, however, hostess wanted to set us in the bar area. We ended up in a booth and our waitress was very good considering she waswearing many hats. We ordered mozzarella sticks which took over 25 minutes and then they were lukewarm. Our meal took another 20 minutes which came out also lukewarm. The waitress was not at fault I believe the manager had a bad day as we had a free entree coupon which we gave to her first thing & she said he would have to okay it. When came time to pay, the bill still didnt show the adjustment being taken off. I believe management & cooking staff need to be looked at as the waitresses were going over & beyond what they should be doing. Needless to say my birthday meal wasnt the greatest! Is Applebees another one of those restaurants going out???
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Everytime I order online with them its messed up and the fries are never cooked. Today was the last straw, I ordered a burger with no cheese without pink and they put cheese on it and it was medium rare (pink), the fries werent cooked of course. When I called to get a new one they said Id have to pay for it and come pick it up... my original ordered was delivered.
I shared a few great moments with a waitress named Deena on two different visits. She is an amazing woman that exhibits great pride in making sure her customers have a incredible experience. It is not very often I get to witness someone try so hard even when things are not going smoothly. The first time we met we shared a few touching words when another table was giving her a hard time. The evening ended with a hug and its a moment I will not forget. She is a great example of not only wonderful human being but the type of person I would want representing my company. Bravo Deena!!!
I ordered an 8oz. Steak and received a 6oz. steak. I ordered to go and weighed the steak at home, as it looked a bit small. The steak weighed 4.5 ounces. A 6oz. steak would lose one and a half pounds its weight after being cooked. This is upsetting. The steak was also overcooked, and very tough. I would only eat here again if I absolutely had no other choice.
Went there for dinner Sunday evening when we lost power in the wind storm. Overall a good evening with pleasent staff and quick service. Not very crowded. Good Covid protocols in place. 3 cheese chicken penne was very good for my wife but my 4 cheese mac&cheese with chicken was very disappointing. Possibly they forgot 4 of the cheeses. Oh well, it was better than starvation.
I tried this location yesterday for the first time and could not be happier with the experience. Between the incredibly short wait time (we arrived close to dinner time, ~6:30PM, so I was very surprised with the limited wait time!), the excellent service and personality of our server, and the food itself, this property truly outdid itself - especially when it comes to value for price paid! I tried the margarita upsold by our server, Kari, and it was great! Kari was attentive, helpful, friendly, and always smiling - cannot beat the customer service! I also tried the maple pecan mashed sweet potatoes and I cant wait to come back for them ASAP! I am a small guy and consider myself a grazer as it usually takes me a few hours to finish a singular meal. However, I finished my entire meal AND opted in for dessert, it was so good!Overall, I had a fantastic experience and a wonderful meal! Thank you to everyone who helped us but a huge thank you to Kari! She certainly represents your franchise and location incredibly well :)
Ordered carside to go, arrived on time, food came out 20 minutes later. At first I was a little upset but then I felt so bad for the woman running in and out delivering the orders. The food was very good and worth the extra wait time. Will definitely order from them again.
We had a short wait to be seated no problem. We were seated and greeted by our waitress Monica. Our food took an hour to come out. The table across from us wirh 2 people who ordered an appetizer, drinks and food came out before ours even though they were seated after us. When we asked Monica she said it was because we had more people in our party. Mind you we ordered 2 meals and 1 kids meal. Our food finally came out and was held back due to them needing to cook French fries. Which is a terrible excuse. I ordered steak and they didn’t have any A1 sauce so Monica offered salt or pepper. I immediately asked for a box because i like steak sauce wirh my steak. We asked for the manager which took another forever for her to come over. She offered us dessert to take home which we declined. Instead she took 10% off which is pathetic and no big deal. The service was terrible. We won’t be back. They weren’t even busy when we were seated so really no excuse. They really need to get their acts together COVID or not!
Server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food just isnt what it used to be anymore. Quality has gone down. Wings were edible, soggy and lacked flavor but dipped in enough blue cheese dressing or ranch most things are palatable. Not a place I plan to visit again anytime in the near future. Spinach dip had stale chips and didnt have any spinach flavor. My iced tea was good and again the server was great.
We waited 50 minutes for curbside. After calling them once to let them know we ended up calling again because we had a feeling they missed us. Turns out the food was sitting there for 20+ minutes because “they didn’t see us”. Our food was cold and they forgot our utensils. All we got was a “sorry”. Such a disappointment.
I had lunch. Kari is a good worker. Kari made sure everyone was taken care of. I had Cajun chicken and shrimp with mushrooms, onion, and garlic mash potatoes. Chicken and shrimp chewing texture was good. Unfortunately, the shrimp was cold. Chicken was nice and hot along with the other sides I mentioned above. I had one frangelico on the rocks. I thought the price ($7.19) was high. I thought the place was okay. Im from out of town visiting.
So my friends invited me to join them and Applebees was on my no go list but they have seemed to redeem them selfs. The food was pretty decent this time and the servers were very attentive and friendly so that made for a great experience and we were not rushed out after finishing eating so we spend a about two hours there and was pleased. The one thing that could be improved would be managers social skills and detail to food presentation.
This location of Applebees isnt the best representation of their restaurant chain. Unfortunately seems understaffed and very long delay in acknowledging you once you are seated and getting you even a drink order. No reflection on the servers as they hussle, look frustrated and are doing their very best. Management should sit back as observers and see how there operation and service comes off to us the customer. I went with a friend to relax and enjoy a late lunch. Food was good we liked the spinach artichoke dip and menu choices but that didnt compensate for the atmosphere. We left feeling sorry for our server. Now that was sad. FYI the womans rest room was terrible. I feel bad but truthfully wouldnt suggest this location.
A perfect end to a busy day..We were quickly seated as it was a Monday evening..Our hostess was very nice and very polite..After being seated , our waitress came over very quickly , introduced herself and took our drink order.. She returned quickly with our drinks and seemed excited to take our dinner order..Our food came at the perfect moment..That which should have been hot , was .. And the salad was cold , crisp and had ample dressings..My wifes steak was cooked perfectly , was incredibly tender and had an excellent taste..Her onion rings however seemed a little too well done ..My chicken broccoli alfredo tasted excellent also and was cooked perfectly..Leftovers for tomorrow..All for less than $30..Excellent food ..Excellent service..Excellent price..Well be making this restaurant a regular stop..
The wait staff was extremely friendly the prices were Fair service was very good until we got ready to receive the bill. At that time it was realized by the wait staff that they had put everything on one bill instead of separate bills as requested by family. What seemed to take an eternity to straighten out was finally finished. Not a terrible experience just a little aggravatin.
Last night my mom and I stopped at this Applebee’s. We sat at the table for at least 10-15 minutes before someone came over even after pressing the call waitress button. She came over and said she was sorry her section got switched so we ordered our food and drinks. She came back about 5-8 minutes later, gave me the wrong drink and said, “are we ready to order or do we need some more time”. I responded and told her we already ordered and she just took my drink to get a new one said okay and left. No apology and seemed very flustered. Mind you there were probably only maybe 10 people in here dining at the time most of them at the bar. My mom and I at that point were just very upset and going to be late for the event we were going to and left. Usually we have good experiences here but last few times not very friendly waitresses and a very long wait time. This time was just frustrating and upsetting.
My husband and I have had too many unsatisfactory experiences with this location that we wouldnt have eaten there if it werent for the fact that I received a gift card for my birthday. The hostesses we unfriendly. Our waiter Rob was too busy to give us good service. We had to ask for new silverware because ours still had food stuck on them. The Double Crunch Shrimp was soggy and mushy. Talk about false advertising! My wrap was still cold inside! Horrible experience! We will never go back. If I ever get another gift card it will be going in the trash.
I wouldnt even give it one star. Used to love coming here. Got seated in a timely fashion....took forever to get a drink. Took the bartender fifteen minutes to make a frozen lemonade. My friend ordered ribs, they didnt have any. He then ordered a steak. When we were served our dinner....he didnt get his and mine had obviously sat under the heat lamp for a time. I ordered Mac and cheese...the cheese and cream were separating and the noodles were dry from the warmer they sat under. I had to send it back. My friends steak finally came....and I still sat there waiting for my dinner. After all that...the server dropped our bill while we were still eating....not cool. We payed our bill...and left no tip. This place sucks ass!!! They need to hire adults....not kids.
We order carside pick-up and the lady who checked is out and brought us our food was very patient, and friendly, she talked to us like we have been friends for years. She also repackaged a dessert for us because the lid made a mess. it was nice to see someone like that in customer service. And the food was excellent and exactly what we were expecting.
My girlfriend and I were there this Friday night, The waitress said that the small menu was all that was offered, never mentioned about the 8.99 bowls. I called and talked to the Manager and he said that if you want the 8.99 special you have to ask for it, what the hell... it’s a scam
Slow service even though there was hardly anyone in the resturant, we could see our waitress talking with other employees. It took a while for us to get our drinks when we can see the bartender standing there talking with again another employee. When they got to us, they were sickening sweet. Manager took them off of our bill which was nice. They also tried to upgrade us to a bigger portion of food which means a higher bill even though we got the smaller portion. Again the manager took that off of our bill as well.
With a large party that they would not accept advance notice for. Waitress insisted on not sharing tables and tried to do all 30 herself. Lots of TMI and complaining instead of taking orders and serving. Totally forgot to put my order in. Others in party were done and left before my food even got ordered. We did a 2 for and my husband got his food 30 minutes before I did. When asked for check there wasnt one to be found because she didnt place order. Manager was not helpful and rude when we had to ask for knives because waitress just dumped a pile of forks and napkins on the middle of the table.
I go there probably twice a month. Its normally good. Tonight was my worse experience. The fries were obviously not fresh and the coffee was at least an hour old and when i made a remark to the bartender hoping my next coffee would be newer she poured it out of the same pot.
The service was absolutely horrendous. We ordered our appetizer and dinners. Received the appetizer and 45 minutes later was served our food by another waitress. She put the plates down and walked away. I looked at my food and knew that it was not edible . My chicken was dry/burnt and the cheese was burnt. I had to get yet another employees attention to have my waitress come to the table. Finally got her attention and told her that my food was not exceptable. Now.... I have been sitting for an hour while She takes it to the kitchen to replace with a new one... another half hour goes by.... my significant other has been done eating and I still have not received my dinner. At this point I dont even want to eat anything .... she brings out plate which at this time I am completely over the place. Forget about it now, its been an hour and a half!!! You have to be kidding me right Applebees??? You have definitely lost me as a customer. Needless to say I spoke to the manager who said that he will take it off the bill lol. Seriously though I didnt get the food!!! Oh thats nice of you. I have to say that he said he wanted me to leave happy. Keep your bill for the horrible food and service. I certainly will never go back. Left starving and miserable. Good luck with this place and I certainly hope that you get new management that will oversee what goes on here. I had to give you one star because you cant get anything lower than that on your rating charts. I wish I had photos 😬
The food has seemed to go down hill in the last year. They switched to different, thinner, tougher steaks. They got rid of some great menu items. Last couple times Ive been there the wait has been quite long. I heard at least 3 customers around me complain about cold food, under cooked steak, and wait. Used to be one of our favorite spots to eat. Not so much anymore
An hour wait on a slow Sunday night for BURNT ribs and burnt steak and burnt onion rings and a terrible manager to give the tords my face and kick my husband and I out like we werent going to pay for my 2 drinks and pretzel when were there like once a week and never had an issue before it will be a long wile before I ever return Id rather go to Burger King down the street
Went in on Fathers day, waited for 30 minutes to get a seat when there were about 9 to 10 tables open. Our server barely came to our table. My kids ate first and my wife and I didnt get asked about what we wanted till my kids were done eating. We were there for 2 and a half hours and we complained to the manager who basically was running around frantic. We used to love coming here. Well we wont be back and my parents wont either. We actually stayed outside afterwards and warned some friends of ours to not waste their time.
15 minutes to be seated. 45 minutes and no food. Waitress stopped and said. Oh u havent got your food yet. Said it would be right out. 10 more minutes...no food no waitress returned. Got up to leave and we went back by kitchen and asked to speak with manager. They said it would be a minute. We left. Wasted our afternoon already. Will NEVER return there again
Was alright, wait in the car for about 30 mins for a table. Food was ok, not the regular menu available. Ordered 2 boneless wings, burger & fries, onion rings. 2 sodas a childs shake. Came to almost $60. And the customary 15% tip is now 20% and you have to pay that. Overall I guess it was good, feel like before Covid it was $20 cheaper.
Went there for lunch today 12/18/19 was our anniversary,so while we took a break an went there the were shopping . The host sat us down where no odybwas was nice,5 minutes later she sits a man an wife right down next to us. 15 mins later set 3 women right across from us.so close I could hear there whole conversation. There was at least 25 open booths an tables was very displeased with this lunch experience. Was 65 dollars meal. With tip server was awesome ,just no reason for the hostess to set us so close.
They one got one star because thats the lowest rating you can give on here. My wife and I were looking for a nice place to sit down and relax one on one while the kids were away for the evening. Stopping in here was a terrible mistake! We were greeted and seated promptly and offered beverages. Two Pepsis were ordered mine no ice we both received Pepsi with ice not a major thing just beginning signs of not being able to follow directions. We both decided to get the 12 ounce choice cut steaks. Hers with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. Mine with a baked potato and fries both well done. We each instead received two 6 ounce steaks without being informed of the 12 ounce choice cuts being unavailable prior to delivery of our food. We were asked to cut into them my wifes one steak was so rare when she stabbed it with the fork it began to leak blood all over her plate including onto her broccoli and baked potato it went unnoticed until she cut it and it poured out covering the entire plate. Her other one was over cooked and extremely dry. Mine were the same with out the disgusting mess of blood all over the plate. The waitress says to my wife oh is that one too rare for you I have him throw it back on for a few minutes and bring it back. When she returned with the burnt cotton ball of a steak she thought was acceptable to serve I informed her my wife would not eat the broccoli since it was covered in the steak blood. She gave a slight look of aggravation and a quiet huff and said Ill get you some more. After that was brought out we decide to try and salvage this disaster and consume some of this food we received. Both baked potatoes were only half done both of the steaks my wife received were completely dried out like beef jerky. As I cut away from the center of mine to the thickest edge it was quite raw and intolerable. Finally once we had stopped attempting to pick through this food to find the edible portions the waitress asked if we needed anything else. My glass had been empty for at least 25 minutes at this point so she finally brought me a refill with ice again and delivered the check simultaneously. Thank you Lord we can pay and leave now!!! Lets see the total for this $52 and change?? We didnt get the good cut 12 ounce steaks and we each maybe ate two ounces of the steak that was served. We are not happy with this locations ways at all. The food terrible the service terrible the music was terrible this is not a night club its a restaurant listen to the rap music up loud somewhere else this isnt the place for it. Tanya our server doesnt deserve to serve any human anything if she cant follow simple directions or make judgement calls on what is and is not acceptable. This location has failed us twice in a row now and we will not dine in another one again.
Ordered the deal for two entrees and an appetizer (BBQ chicken wings) for $20. When I ate the first chicken wing it had an unusual taste and it was chewy...but I never guessed there was a problem with the cooking!! The second one I cut and the inside was completely pink with just a tiny outline of white. They served me raw chicken!!!!! When I showed them they apologized and took $6 off my meal. But their apology isnt going to help me tomorrow if I end up puking my guts out all night from Salmonella!!!!
It was good as usual however I ordered the grilled chicken and shrimp and asked for broccoli instead of potatoes. They sent out cold raw broccoli instead of steamed. I told the waitress and she brought me some steamed but I had already finished my meat by the time it arrived. Just a little disappointing.
Absolute WORST place to eat. Walked in had to wait ten minutes for the hostess to even come up to the stand. Looking around you could see at least 10 tables open but got put on a list and told it was gonna be a few minutes finally we just went and sat at the bar. SLOWEST SERVICE EVER. Waited 20 minutes to get our salad then everything was brought all at once. Had absolutely no room to eat. Found a chunk of god knows what in my appetizer sent it back and asked for it taken off. Which it was not. Bartender completely ignored other guest one gentleman waited fifteen minutes before the bartender said one word to him. VERY VERY disappointed. And dirty dishes left everywhere behind the bar. Manager needs to fire everyone and get some real servers and bartenders in there.
It took forever for our waitress to make initial contact, and the first contact was her telling us shed be right back, then she disappeared for another 5 minutes. She bought our drinks dripping without napkins.The food came out and the burger was overcooked and the tacos, meat included, were cold. The manager came over and was arguing that those tacos do come out cold as the only piece that is hot is the meat. He wouldnt accept that the meat was cold and continued saying that he apologized we werent understanding him.He asked if we wanted the food made over, I said no on the burger, but the tacos yes.He then proceeded to take both plates (I had planned on just finishing the burger).He came back with the tacos and hovered until she took a bite, it was much warmer which he said all he did was cooked the meat twice as long (I have a suspicion they were just sitting in the kitchen).When asked about my burger the manager said I said I didnt want it. Guess I didnt want it?While sitting here also heard them having to comp a meal behind us.Highly doubtful Ill be coming back to this Applebees.
Not generally thrilled with this restaurant. Even when its not busy we have waited 15 to 20 minutes to have orders taken. My mother ordered a tomato bisque and it had obviously been microwaved, it did not look appetizing but she was hungry and ate it anyway. Presentation on the plates could be worked on also. I dont think well go back for a while.
As much as my family and I give this place a chance they always seem to disappoint. My husband wanted a steake with no pink, sent it back 2x and was still pink like nothing was done to it. My chicken had a funny flavor and smell weird Waitress was nice and very apologetic. Wont waste my money and time anymore.
I drove here from Penn Yan with my son to have a good meal. The last time I was here it was great. This time not so much. The chicken wontons were great but when the mac and cheese with chicken tenders came out it was hard, dry, clumpy and was very obvious that it had been sitting for some time and just thrown in the microwave. I paid fifteen dollars for reheated food. That food should have never come out of the kitchen. I really enjoyed coming here so this was so disappointing! Not sure if I will come back.
If you want to come to a place and get your food in a timely manner then your not at the right place here. Came here on a Sunday evening and there was 1 other group in the whole left side of the restaurant. The other side of the restaurant had to have less than 20people. So lets go over what happened..Took over 10 minutes to just get drinks.. then we took our time getting our order as we had our 26 month old there. So we then put our order in. I tell the women specifically I DONT WANT COLESLAW. I understand that it normally comes with the item but i dont want it. This way to not waste food. So now after another 22 minutes almost an entire show. I know this because we brought an iPad for our son and he was watching his Mickey mouse show which is 30 minutes long the food comes. Low and behold I get coleslaw and the serve me cold chicken. I have to wait to get my server back over and when she does I tell her its cold and very tough. She proceeds to tell me that we can heat it up for ya.... Now if the chicken is ALREADY tough what would heating it up do for that? So anyways she says that she will get a manager.... 15 minutes later a new peice of chicken comes out and now I am done with my food. Another 5 minutes later the manager come and apologizes and then explains that it takes some time to cook the chicken as they make it to order... he comped my meal.Overall I was going to give this 1 star but at least the manager did come over but taking 20 minutes from the report of the issue is a long time. Just because the food is reasonably priced does NOT mean the quality of service should be subpar.
Their quality has gone down and price has gone up over the years. Only reason we went was we had a gift card. We both got the all you can eat riblets, shrimp, And chicken tenders everything has hardly any flavor. Really bland. It was like prying teeth to get a second helping so much for all you can eat.
Got the new loaded chicken fajitas. It was sizzling alright. Enough to burn the bottom layer. Burnt rice and vegetables. Not just burnt but charred. Yet the chicken layered on top was cold. The charred made it all taste burnt. Manager on duty was not at all concerned. He walked away and did nothing. Apparently the screw up 2 tables down from me was all he was allowed to fix. They got free desert with dinner. I got charcoal for dinner.
My husband and I... in our attempt to east healthier... tried the salads. I am a huge fan of Buffalo Chicken... the battered and fried kind... and was disappointed when my husband said it needed to be grilled. I have to say... it was delicious! Wish I could remember our waitress name. She was excellent.
Today me and my family went to the Applebee’s in Canandaigua (4 of us). 3 people ordered a chicken parmesan plate. And I ordered the chicken tenders platter (the combos with appetizers). So we got the bbq wings and onion rings, first off the appetizers came out cold, then they only gave us 2 minutes To eat our appetizers before our meals came out and they where cold to. My sister went to take her bread stick and was disgusted to see a long brown wavy hair. We told the waitress and she offered to make another which was the expectation at that point. When my sister go her meal it was about 8 minutes later and we were almost half done eating. At that point my sister lost her appetite and only took a few bites of her meal then got a box to bring it home. As she did that she dropped a piece of cheese on the table and saw it had a hair baked into it, at that point we were all disgusted and just wanted to leave. So overall I don’t recommend going to Applebee’s because we left paying $70 for cold food with hair in it. Don’t go to Applebee’s unless you want to leave disgusted!
The Hurrican Special is superbly delicious. And its a great price at $1.00!I Enjoyed the fresh grilled shrimp atop an 8 oz sirloin with garlic stringbeans.Delicious!The manager is down to earth friendly. A very unassuming, real people person.How refreshing! Thanks for your personal touch.The new hire at the bar is a delightfully personable young man. On 6/29 our family decided to go for a late dinner after Seabreeze. At this time we ate dinner and when it was time to pay my sisters wallet was missing!! I paid my bill and provided waitress 20% tip. The hostess at the time cleared plates on kids side where my sisters purse was. The manager did not want to help and we had to file a police report. Sadly we eat here often and they lost our service all because someone wanted extra cash! My sister now has lost all of her personal things and has spent her day trying to replace everything having to take the day off of work.
I have never been more repulsed by a management staff then I was in my visit to this Applebees. Funny thing is I got the shrimp parm sirloin medium rare... Shouldnt be too difficult but over an hour later my wife and I received our meals. She got a pasta which was ok at best but my steak looked and felt like a hockey puck... I informed my server I was unhappy with my meal and to no avail promptly asked her if we could fix this. A manager was supposed to come over (took him 20 minutes) but the actions I witnessed from him were repulsive. Named Corey he openely criticized, and rudely corrected the wait staff in front of guests.. THESE ARE 18,19, and 20 year old woman, and he looked like a 45 year piece of slop. I bit my tongue assuming this wasnt the norm for how applebees operated, but could guarantee if it were my daughter he had spoken to like he had my waitress I would have taken his bald head and mopped the floor with it. On top of that I heard this same guy calling servers honey or beautiful, and grossed me out to the point I will never be returning to this establishment nor did I dare wait for my new steak to be finished before walking out the restaurants doors.
Im not a fan of Applebees anyway, but this place reminded me why. Staff was nice but awful.. Messed up 3 of the orders - including having to wait an extra 15 minutes for the right entre, has to ask for napkins, then had to ask for silverware, had to ask for lemon with tea, and to top it off the food was well below average. Applebees is good for a beer and a snack. For a nice dining experience, stay away.
Ordered pick up turns out it was carside-to-go. When we showed up our food was brought out to us, went to pay and the waitress asked us what the gratuity we were going to pay, when we responded to none. The waitress pressured us into tipping her for handing us a bag of food and saving us the 10 foot walk into the restaurant.Whenever we go to a restaurant we always tip generously, but they are also waiting on us the whole time. Not having a 2 minute encounter and telling us how we can now buy gift cards at carside-to-go.The food at this location was also below average to my expectations from other Applebees, will not be going back to this location
If I could give them no stars I would. To start off they would not honor a coupon with their logo that another Applebees has in the past and out waitress is slower than molasses. To not accept the coupon without asking the manager is a red flag to me. It made me feel that they do not put the customer first. I will not come back.
Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Order was not difficult: chips and queso with tortilla soup. Chips seemed to have been poured from the bottom of a bag of Dollar Tree product. The cook brought me fresh chips, which were better but still seemed stale.Tortillas soup was very disappointing. Was primarily stale tortilla chips over the residue of already eaten bowl of soup.Worst experience ever at an Applebees. Very dissatisfied.
Our experience was horrible. One of the people with me asked if they could have bread sticks as a side, waitress said yes. Then was told manager said there would be a charge. Then she said a dinner roll could be subsituted and then came back and said manager said no. Had to charge $.50 for it. We said ok but really he didnt take one side so what was the difference. Then the lettuce on my sandwich was bad. Asked for new and the manager brought over a piece no bigger than a tomato slice. Never Sid anything just threw it on the table. Last time we ever visit any Applebees.
Two months ago I have gone to this place haven’t gotten around to do a review on it. Here it is my review of Applebee’s in Canadaigua New York right off of Route five and 20 next to Walmart and Lowes Plaza. I love the setting nice small and quaint building. I love the lighting in the building especially being blind and visually impaired I can’t really see fantastic there they have good food in the whole nine yards. The staff is very inviting and friendly as well no coming down to the food that I received it was lukewarm most but I think they were getting new staff and training new staff at the time I was there. So that is not too big of a deal my friends steak when it came out it was nice and hot and juicy and I had some of that as well that was warmer fantastic just my sandwich that I ordered was more so must’ve been on the order of counter a little bit too long but that doesn’t take the cake for me there is just a minor thing in the monks of everything else and today. Overall they did a fantastic job would go back thank you
Amanda was incredible. She was due within two days and she was very quick, extremely polite, and very helpful. As my wife was procrastinating on the menu, Amanda was so patient and showed her sense of humor. With work and children my wife and I do not get many dates. This was our day date and Amanda made our day. Thank you so much Amanda. God bless you in your exciting addition. Adeline will be the luckiest baby girl to have you as her Mommy. Great service from our server tonight. The food on the other hand... our burbon street chicken meals were Both cold upon arrival. My chicken was burnt black. I had to send it back. 15 minutes later new pieces of chicken came out. Luckily I had soup because the rest was a joke.
Horrible. Went today at 4-ish, was seated, waited for over 15 minutes and not once did a server even come over to our table! I overheard the server with the table behind us complaining that she had to leave and could they pay the bill now? Ridiculous! We were ready to order and never even got a water. Never again! Ill go to the local, hometown places. No more chains for me.
Wife took me for my birthday. Started out alright, then the server decided I didnt need anything to drink with my meal until I was almost finished eating. And that was after I had to send the burger back because they didnt put any of the toppings on. And when they brought that back out it was just all thrown together like it fell off the grill. And there was literally 23 French fries on the plate. Was like a McDonalds small... Ordered burger pink, was crunchy well done... Wife mentioned it was my birthday, I was already in the car by the time the server even noticed I was gone and came to check on us again. Used to like this place, that was it for me....
Nice people and clean seating. Im rating this lower because I had ordered a 2 for $20 and received a cold meal. I ate one meal in the restaurant and asked they make the second for when I leave. Im thinking they made both at once and just left the second under a heat lamp.
Waited 45 min still dont have our burgers but finished our appertisers 10-15 minutes ago. Manager walked by at least 6 times and didnt even acknowledge us. He didnt even apologies just said the computer lost the order we asked for the bill. Felt bad for the wait staff with a manager that would rather clear tables than take care of customers.
I dislike Applebees, and always have. The steaks are cheap and tough, full of gristle. Twice the wait staff has forgotten to place our order and left us hanging. Once the manager gets involved, meals are comped, but thats definitely not our preferred way to go out to eat.
Went to Applebees on Veterans day. They always do a wonderful job of serving the vets. We go there not just on Veterans day, but quite often. On this day, the place was full of vets. How wonderful to be their company. Also, was the fact that they got their meal free. Thank you Applebees!
Worst experience at a restaurant. This past Monday, my family and I went here for dinner. The management of the restaurant was having a meeting at the booth directly behind us, kind of weird to be seating customers near their meeting when the restaurant was pretty empty (it was around 5 pm) but no big deal. It then became worst when they called a waiter over and reprimanded him within 2 feet of us. It made us feel extremely uncomfortable that this was going on right next to us. They kept telling him that he needed to do things the Canandaguia way, well if the “Canandaguia Way” is to be that unprofessional and treat your employees that way in front of customers, then I want nothing to do with their restaurant.
We are NOT impressed with the new menu. There was no description of what look like a 6”pile of mashed potatoes with meat and red peppers and gravy. Upon arrival, it was 1 scoop with grave and overdone, dry meat. Some gravy, and the worst, tomatoes in the beef gravy. Not a very good mix in my opinion. The whole meal looked less than half of the picture. The second meal, chicken with rice... should be called dried chicken over dry rice. The third meal, baby back ribs, looked awesome, good vegetables, and the ribs, tasted great, except there was so very little meat on them. All in all, very disappointed, higher prices, less food, deceiving menu. Service was great, atmosphere was great, will not return to any Applebee’s until we hear better reviews. Step up your game Applebee’s!
Manager needs some training on how to speak to his employees and how to handle himself in front of customers. We went on a Thursday and there was hardly any customers in the bar area when we arrived to watch the football game and he was speaking very loud and sharply to the hostess about how nobody should have to wait for a table right after she seated us and another couple walked in. We asked the waitress about any specials for the game as she went to ask him we heard him shouting about half priced apps at 9 and she had better mske sure we ordered something besides drinks until 9. (There was 6 of us and we had every intention of order lots of apps and watching the whole football game).When the game started it was only on one TV so we asked the bartender if she could change one of the baseball games to the football game so we all didnt have to keep turning ning our heads. Again the manager yelled, at the bartender this time, that there were other customers in the bar area who might want to watch baseball instead of football. (There were 2 other parties in the bar area: a couple who were deeplytalking and a family buried in their phones).Suffice to say we left before halftime and wont be going back there. If any Applebees corporate members read these, check out the manager of your Canandaigua location and get him some talking to employees and customers training.
We have the very best of time food was excellent the waitresses excellent even though theyre making very little money I still manage to smile and treat everybody nice manager was more than reasonable people should remember waitresses in the restaurant I can only serve half the people that they normally can so its very hard for them to make money a big generous for your tips if youre working feel lucky that youre working and making money me and my girlfriend left her a nice tip I dont expect anybody to wait on me for nothing and I certainly have no problem give him a little extra in a little more extra because the people are so nice Im working so hard were so little be nice so somebodys Mom Pop daughter wife sister brother I want to thank them all and our coffee was excellent I go there just for that alone
Ordered for pick up, got home and all went down hill from there. Come to find out Applebees forgot my kids drink, starting eating and found we were also missing or sides of mash potatoes to. Had ordered my meal of chichen alfredo with out brocoli, and yes it was loaded with brocoli. My wife got the full rack of ribs and they wete burned. Needless to say there are other aces to spend our money, and we will not be going bacj to this Applebees again. Im.surprised as resturaunts struggle a place would be this bad to customers
Dont get me wrong I love Applebees but I took my daughter and grandchildren there yesterday early afternoon ordered chicken shrimp Alfredo, two steaks potato broccoli and chicken quasadia. Waited 1.5hrs for everything, steaks were subpost to be med came out well done potatos were cold, Alfredo was awesome, chicken quessadia was missing the chicken all together, when we told waitress about it she said they could redo them but, we werent going to wait any longer our 2year old was really hungry so he ate his French fries not quasadia.
Got mini burgers and did not have bacon that we ordered on them and one set was cold. Took back orders and warm one came back with bacon but was cold now. Waited for other order 10 min. After we finish first one. They did nothing to compensate us. We ask for high chair for our 10 month old granddaughter and had two and both were very dirty and they did not see this till we showed them when we wiped them with baby wipes. Not a good experience.
I know it is Valentines day but the food was cold and it took at least 45 minutes to get our food.I ordered the Bourbon Street steak it came with sauteed onions and mushrooms I got alot of onions and I kid you not only one mushroom This is at your Canandaigua restaurant
The Food is good there, and the wait staff are ok. Seating does not take long at all and they try to accommodate your wishes for seating. The only thing that bothers me there is that I know the staffs gripes with management bc that is what I can hear as they are working. Over all not a bad place to eat.

2022-02-03Great food, great prices, great service! We were seated immediately and got food/drinks quickly. Our waitress kept our drinks full and they were only 5 dollars each. We got chocolate cake to go and the waitress had some great recommendations about how to heat it up for the best taste at home. The honey chicken was nice and crispy, delicious sauce. One of our favorite places for date night!

2022-02-22Spent almost $100 on our order and the portions were nowhere close to accurate. I was delivered half the steak I paid for (medium rare) and a fourth of that was burnt crisp. Our loaded waffle fries have practically no toppings. Our final order from here.

2022-03-16Mind you this is a weekday rating. The restaurant was very clean. The host was prompt to service I was at a table with in two minutes of entering the restaurant. My waitress made contact within the first 5 minutes. She had a smile she asked me how I was doing brought me menus took my drink order and my appetizer order with all in the first 7 minutes. The appetizers were out to my table within 10 minutes tops. Place an order within 15-20 minutes the order was out to the table it was an order place for three individuals. Overall I would rate this service excellent the food was excellent. Prices have changed a lot since the pandemic but thats to be expected I do highly recommend going there during the weekday. Dont forget tip for great service.

2022-03-30Great food but slow service. They had only 4 tables seated when we first got in and then started getting busy. They seemed to not have enough staff to cover all the guests but otherwise the food and drinks were great. They also didnt mind that myself and my husband were being a little dorky with our two kids. Thanks for NOT giving us dirty looks and delivering our food nice and hot.

2022-04-30If you really love steak like I do, this isn’t the place for you. I like my steak medium rare. Medium. Just not well done. Well the edges were well well done. And y’all can say size doesn’t matter but it does when it comes to steak. I got a 8oz. Top sirloin and it was the SMALLEST 8oz. I’ve ever seen. Not gonna lie though, the flavor was there. Just not cooked properly nor the size that’s advertised. And the onions were pretty good too. And them potato’s probably saved the whole meal along with their drinks. But if I had to judge their steak 1-10 I’d give it a 4. Only because of the fact it was wayyyyy smaller than advertised and how it was cooked. All 4 points go to flavor. However the inside was almost just right. But please don’t read this and say “this guy gets one meal and complains” because no. I ONLY get steak when I come here. And the consistency just isn’t there. There have been a few times I had a pretty gnarly steak from here but it’s just not consistent
