Dont miss this restaurant. Great food, good wine list, friendly and efficient servers(TRISH is a delight) the atmosphere on the canal sets the mood for a relaxing food treat. We especially like their greens and fish specials. Never been disappointed! Our go to eatery when in Town! A Utica treasure!
Nice place, spicy food, but tasty. Nice outdoor patio padio by the water. Graduation Party $25.00 a plate for a Buffet. (Chicken regies, Meatballs, Chicken parm, Seasoned potatoes, Bread-and-butter rolls, And garden salad - thats all of it) Very pricey, Over - All, great experience.
We ate on the patio overlooking the water. It was very pretty! I had the Chicken Francaise, which was good! My friend ordered a seafood dish, which she said was ok. She also ordered the Fruit Torta for dessert, which she enjoyed. The ambiance was great, the food was good, the service was slow. But overall we enjoyed our meal!
Arrived Friday evening at 4:45 pm, I was told that I should sit at the bar because I didnt have reservations for a table, (the bar seats were not 6 feet apart and their was no hand sanitizer available for customers). Their were only 2 tables inside with people at them, entire outdoor area had no customers. So I asked are all of the reservations for 5 pm? Oh no, we found you a table outside, that isnt reserved until 7. OK. The bread plate that was left at the table for me was dirty, looked like instead of running it through the dishwasher someone just wiped it with a rag, so I asked for a clean one, no problem. They bring the water carafe over and their was pasta sauce stuck to the side of it in several areas, gross. I didnt say anything. Took a while for a waitress to come over, in fact after I was seated another couple were seated next to me and a waitress went to them 1st. Again, I didnt say anything. Ordered cocktail and entree. She brought over nice hot fresh bread and butter. The meal was good, shrimp, clams, mushrooms over linguine.
First off the waitress was very good at what she does. Second off the food had no flavor at all it was very bland. I didn’t know they serve processed chicken in upscale restaurants...? The chicken was so rubbery i only had one bite. The Utica greens had absolutely no flavor or spice to them. The haddock was unbelievably bland. Have you ever heard of butter? It seems like they used some dom pepinos spaghetti sauce over the noodles. Until they get a great review in the newspaper or a famous chef complaints them I would never ever recommend this restaurant to eat dinner at.
Just celebrated my sisters bridal shower at Aqua Vino. The atmosphere was amazing, and everything was perfect. Trish especially went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. She was extremely attentive and ensured we as guests came first and that every one of our needs were met without question. She was a wonderful asset to an already amazing party. My only wish was that she had a more accommodating staff to work with her, as her additional staff was not as amazing. He was not only cold to us, but didn’t seem to take direction well from her, guests, or anyone for that matter and was not very friendly by any means. Food was amazing, the price was reasonable, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! Overall 5 ⭐️’s for sure!! Thank you Aqua Vino, especially Trish for making my little sisters day so perfect!
This place was nice. You can wear a nice outfit, or jeans and a nice shirt. The food is amazing, wine is good. Liquor cocktails are left a bit wanting. Finding the actual restaurant is difficult as the sign is small, at the corner of the building, pointing down some stairs. The evening didnt start out well, but we were very happy in all by the end. I would recommend trying this place for sure.
Outdoor ambiance and food cant be beat! Canopied outside overlooking running canal, natural mini-waterfall, woodsy serenity, alongside vintage menu of brandedUtica classics. The East Utica fried meatballs, chicken riggies extra spicy, and prize-winning Adirondack Lagar by Saranac fulfills happiness! Mike our server, obviously local to Utican-Italian heritage, was professional and authentic.
The place was very nice inside and the waitress was very friendly. The food service was a little slow but the tomahawk ribeye was delicious. Prices were kinda steep, think I paid $14 for the shrimp cocktail and only got 3 jumbo shrimp. The apple crust dessert was phenomenal.
We went there to celebrate a friends retirement. It was an amazing time. Our server was friendly but not over bearing, not intrusive as some can be. The menu is top notch. All of use could have made dinner from the appetizer list. Enters were prepared to perfection. We didnt finish them because the desserts had to be tried! They did not disappoint. We are from Albany but will drive to Utica just to enjoy Aqua Vino again.
I held my daughters baby shower there today and no area was lacking in any way. The food was excellent-my guests raved-the tables looked gorgeous-and the service was exceptional. I would be remiss to not mention Tricia who sat with us planned it out and fielded all my calls in the days before-she handled every detail we asked for and was there when we arrived to set up our personal goodies and could not have been more helpful. My daughter asked for this location and now I know why!!!
Our group has held dinner meetings at Aqua Vino for a few years now, the service and food is always excellent. Our members rave about the food. They have started a Wednesday Classic Italian motif for the dinning room. Just a sample of how the staff work to keep it interesting. Trish and Patrick are great examples of superior customer service.
Wonderful place to dock while motoring the Erie Canal locks. Such nice customers- a group of golfers bought the four of us a drink. The waitstaff and food was also great. Not sure if they have shower facilities since we just docked for the night and shower on our boat.
Our new favorite place! Kept meaning to try it, and finally, this summer we took visiting friends there for dinner. We were able to sit outside with the view of the water and it was lovely. In addition, the service was excellent as was the food. Our friends raved about it and want to go there again during their next visit. We have been there twice since our first visit, and we had similar experiences. The wait staff is very professional, yet they made us feel very relaxed and comfortable. We are going again this week with friends. We highly recommend AquaVino!
Sat outside on the patio with a very senic view. The onion soup was awesome! Had their house special rack of lamb and if you like lamb you will love this.Highly recommend going. I was with 5 other people and not one complaint from all. Will definitely be eating there again.
Aqua Vino, hands down, THE BEST RESTAURANT in Utica! The food was delicious, service was fantastic, thanks to Sarah, and the staff was friendly, accommodating and professional, thanks Beverly!! Definitely a beautiful restaurant, great food, from fish dishes to pasta and appetizers to dessert,, staff and ambience! We will return when we make another visit to the area! Five stars!!!
First time here! We were just driving threw the area, searched for restaurants. We stopped because this had a good selection of pictures and details of the menu, as well as good reviews. Did not disappoint on the food or service. Seafoods. Italian. Chicken. Good selection for the four of us and great service by our server. He was polite and respectful and checked on us even though it got busy.
I found this restaurant to be enjoyable - it gets a thumbs up for food as well as location. The only downside I could see is that the entrance to the seating area was blocked off from the inside because of an event. You had to walk down a set of stairs to get to the patio - not exactly easy of youre traveling with elderly or handicapped individuals.
The food was very disappointing to be honest. My daughters sandwich had hair in it, my husbands sandwich was the size of a slider, the paninis were soggy. For the overall price, I did not expect to be having to swat away flies during my whole meal (we chose indoor seating to AVOID that). The waiter, Tyler, was great. But as for the food, a waste of money to say the least.
I was at Aqua Vino for an award reception and we had what was referred to as heavy hors doeuvres. I did not have a sit down meal. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and very attentive to dishes that people were finished with. It was all set up buffet style. In addition there were amazing bite sized desserts. Its an hour drive from where I live but Im looking forward to going back for a normal dinner experience. Highly recommended.
I would have given 5 stars BUT, as a visiting boater the depth had us on the bottom and there were no showers.Little noisy with the Comets hockey team weekly meeting but quiet by bed time.Meal was great and Beverly did a great job welcoming us and provided her best waitress to take care of us.I would go back.
When is the last time you had a discussion with someone about the best restaurants in the Mohawk Valley? Did you mention Aqua Vino? Each time I dine here I am reminded of all the times I should have given it the praise it truly deserves. Fresh ingredient, A+ service, a fine drink menu, and a totally unique dining room setting. What really stands out is how every dish has that homemade feel to it. With many of the dishes being inspired by Italian cuisine, I am almost transported to a family dinner at my grandmas house. Aqua Vino combines an intimate dining atmosphere with old fashioned good food to leave you fully enjoying your dining experience.Uticas restaurants are a point of pride for this area. If at the end of the day I went out on a limb and said Aqua Vino is the best we have Id feel comfortable defending the pick.
Terrible here! There was no parking. I walked around to find a hostess while several people walked by me without saying a word. When I stopped a staff member, she told me that the cooks have had it for the night, and that they are not seating anyone. The kitchen didnt close until 9 and I was turned down at 8:30. Will NEVER return for a restaurant thats not committed to serving its customers and doing their job (serving people)!
Bartender handled inside of the martini glasses with her fingers, took olives out of the glasses with her fingers, 20 minute wait for a table and with reservations yet, sent two meals back, raw and extremely over salted, one meal order wasn’t placed with the other three and was not edible when it arrived, one meal to go was inedible, two other patrons sent their meals back that night as well. Management needs to make some changes. I won’t be back.
The New Erie Canal flows by Aqua Vino, an Italian restaurant with a family farm that makes your bigga steak da freshest ever. The facility on the water has closed for today so family and staff can relax with one another, so I am enjoying their patio. The feeder stream came as a delightful surprise, a repurposed tributary of the Mohawk River. The small waterfall as the creek tumbles into the canal is charming, like a Venetian fountain. Enjoy this beautiful irony. I might be among the flats of the Mohawk River and yet, the stream I hear and see began upon a foothill of the Adirondacks. Bring your boat and stay overnight because Aqua Vino will tie you up with water and electricity for a dollar a foot. I hope the house doesnt mind if I order delivery of a bigga steak from nearby Domenicos because this little deck of la Dolce Vita calls dinner.
Decided to check out Aqua Vino for lunch at the suggestion of a co-worker, and I couldnt have been more pleased with the outcome. I ordered chicken riggies for pick up, which was ready within 15 minutes, and the quality was outstanding - especially considering the quick turnaround. In fact, Id say that Aqua Vino ranks among the best in the area when it comes to riggies. For $8.99 (plus tax), the portion size is rather generous, further making the case to establish Aqua Vino as a regular lunch spot.

2022-01-28Amazing meal and excellent service. I had the Penne Santorini and it was so good. Topped it off with the Homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart which was perfect. Such an amazing place. Last time I got the special seafood pasta and went for the seafood first but the pasta it was on blew me away. Definitely will be back.

2022-06-25We had a party of about 40 people downstairs today and it was wonderful! We are from out of town and needed to plan a party for family. Trish made everything super easy and simple. The place was beautiful and the food was delicious. Everyone was raving about the mimosa bar and wine punch! 10/10 recommend!

2022-06-16What a pleasant surprise… we just had an excellent experience at Aqua Vino… the service and meal was exceptional! The owner even sat down with us and got to know us and our dog a little stirring out by the canal… I will be back anytime in this area. A must visit.

2021-09-09Nice restaurant, the drinks were not good.. my wife and sister in law had an orange pina colada and another apple type of drink, I guess they’re wines must be better than the cocktails, the bread they serve is okay but would be better if they had olive oil options with the bread instead of the super small butter, the main entree’s was the best part.. we had the filet mignon with risotto (the risotto was GREAT) and the salmon which my wife loved, the desserts were okay, my chocolate lava cake was boring to be honest there was no filling inside of it and the ice cream was the best part but my wife loved her tiramisu and my sister in law LOVED the lemon cake dessert she had, for 3 people was over $200 including tip, the waiter did a good job, in an overall the restaurant is good but not great.

2021-07-03Great place along the canal for a nice summer dinner out. The food was great, the service was spectacular and the drinks were delicious. If you have a choice, sit outside. The vibe is wonderful.

2021-07-15The Tomahawk steak itself was super delicious. It was cooked medium as I ordered. It had a fantastic crust on it. The rack of lamb my wife had was great. The mashed potatoes that came with the steak were gummy and not anything that great. The parmesan risotto that came with the lamb was excellent. It was a busy Saturday evening but service was slow and inattentive. I asked for a soda refill while eating my entree and never received it.

2022-06-24If restaurants want to participate in delivery services like DoorDash then should take care to make sure people get what they order instead of charging people top dollar and sending them crab cakes when they waited over an hour for their meal. If your too busy for these services that you can’t read a simple order then don’t participate. Don’t worry about me I’ll never order again and I’ll never come in.

2022-05-26I got stuck in the elevator on my way to dinner. After 5 minutes a gentleman named Dave Morgan and a martian got me out while Dave was cussing out schindler elevator(since they are the worst company in the world). Any way I got my seat and was promptly served. The tomahawk steak was spot on and every thing was delicious. on my way out Dave apologized and me and him punched the elevator tech on the way out! 5/5 would recommend!
