Spent 2hrs trying to call this place. They opened at 7am and they finally answered my call around 10:30am. I ordered a round 9inch cake. It was 3layers and was more icing than cake. Wish I had known it was going to be 3layers then i would have changed my mind(thought it was going to be 2). The cake itself was not bad but for the price i paid for it the ratio of cake to icing was not worth it.
This was a full box. Mostly with sprinkle cookies which were very light and tasty.
The best pastry shop been buying here for 40 years they have the best cakes and cookies price are good
Arturos bakery is the best bakery that you can find in the Bronx . All types of wedding , Birthday , Retirement , any kind of cake you want they make it to however you like .
I havent had much from this bakery yet. I usually go to Contis on Morris Park. But my family have been going here forever and so I went to buy a cake for someone. The cake was okay. It wasnt my favorite. But it was good. The writing on the premade cake was weird. They put a large sugar cookie on top of the decorative flowers and then put the Happy Birthday on it. I think if I ordered it ahead, maybe they wouldve written on the actual cake. I didnt care for the sugar cookie for the writing. But I didnt order ahead so I settled for it. It was also $1.50 extra for the writing (youre paying for the cookie).
I only had the canoli. I was a little sad that they dont sell strawberry shortcake by the slice. The young lady that served me was a bit agitated because I was asking questions and because annoyed when I decided not to buy the entire shortcake because it didnt have the filling I wanted.
I have been buying cakes at Artusos since the late 90s, I love their pastries, cakes and cookies. Unfortunately, lately the bakery is lacking customer service. If I am standing waiting to be attended by one of the young ladies, I shouldnt have to grab their attention.Note to Artusos owner: If you want customers to be satisfied and continue supporting your business, train your employees to greet and attend the customers with courtesy and professionalism. Instead of ignoring them while chatting amongst each other.
I love this place. I cant stay out of this bakery. I can get busy at times but it is worth the wait to have a delicious pastry! No other bakery in the neighborhood of Little Italy can compare!

They are not the most well organized bakery so I recommend that you get receipts when ordering ahead and bring them with you. They lost 2 cakes that we had ordered last week and went to pick up today and we gave them half down and the just happened to have the cakes that we ordered in the case for sale. The young lady tried to charge us full price when we had already given her a 50% deposit. Hold on to your receipts!! The bakery is very good, just very unorganized.
It seems a visit to the Arthur Avenue Little Italy section of the Bronx is not complete without a visit to Arturos Pastry Shop.Ive been coming here for decades now and I am always quite impressed with the evolution of this neighborhood mainstay.Inside the shop you will find Italian cookies and Italian pastries that go beyond a cannoli or chocolate chip cookie. The displays are chock full of napoleons, tiramisu, chocolate cakes, cheesecake, gelato and so much more. More importantly, its all delicious and freshly made. If you decide to eat-in be certain to order some coffee.
Born and raised in the Bronx, after having my children, Arturo Pastry Shop is where I would buy all my childrens birthday cakes. I love their pastries...I just cant say more on how I love Arturo. I now moved from the Bronx and I cant find a bakery that is anything like Arturo. I wish I can get orders thru the mail! I truly miss Arturo!!
The things look nice, but they’re dry and flavorless. I notice this at other neighborhood bakeries, and wonder if it’s inherent in Italian pastries more generally.

ARTUSO PASTRY SHOP is THE place to purchase your cakes, pastries, cookies and deserts. Located at 670 East 187th Street. They have been in service for over 70 years, they have been on many food channels and shows for many years. They have served many famous people as well with there intricately beautiful cakes.The service is grand, the business is always clean and packing is on point. Respect has ALWAYS been priority, and since the pandemic began, social distancing and proper PPE has been their priority as well. I have been a loyal customer, to their immaculate delights for 10 years and counting. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
Not sure what the lure is here, but by far not a good experience at all. I realize it the holidays and things are hectic but WOW!!! The place was ridiculous. PLEASE WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING FOOD AND WASH THEM AFTER YOU HANDLE MONEY!!!!!No professionalism. The staff is unprepared to handle volume. The items in the store were terrible. Pies left on an open rack near the door. I purchased an Italian favorite struffoli. The worst I have ever tasted. It was mushy, all wet on the top and it was not honey. Colors from the sprinkles ran everywhere. I can’t believe this place gets the reviews it does. It’s a disgrace and the pastries were totally sub-par. We travelled from CT thinking this was a great traditional Italian pastry shop. We were gravely mistaken.

I went in just to try the lobster tail pastry. They have vanilla and chocolate. I couldnt make up my mind so I took one of each. I think I liked the chocolate one better.
Love there Cannolis, there cakes i’ve been eating since way back, grew up in the neighborhood and when i’m in town i always stop by, my wife and i love there vanilla and chocolate filled cakes, we have even bought a cake and put it on ice and drove back home to Florida, give them a try you won’t regret it!

This is the worst bakery I’ve been too . I asked for a tres leches and got something completely different . No flavor at all . And it is not freshly made as stated . Please don’t believe these five star reviews they’re fake
I have been using Artuso for years and when I tell you I cant eat any other cake I really cant! From the lemon pound cake to yellow cake with vanilla butter cream even the newest to our family the fondant cake !! The cakes is the best !! I would like to thank them for always coming through when we come through !!
Pastries were good. Some cookies tasted fresh and some tasted old. I recommend pastries and Sfogliatella.

Very high quality made cakes were made for my Birthday. The workers treated me nice and look nice. Both chocolate and some other cake tasted great! Especially the chocolate one. You can tell they are very responsible even when there are a lot of people. I enjoyed the cake so much I came back and I gave one of the female workers a well deserved tip

I always look forward to visiting Artusos Pastry Shop. The service is always excelente. Great pastries. I used to by the tiramisu but the last few times it had defrost and there was a lot of water in the bottom of the cup. It tasted grainy.
The cakes are really good but the customer service sucks !! There’s 4 girls and no one greets you when you walk in, instead their nasty when you get to the counter like it’s a bother to ask for what you want

I Love Artusos My Family has been ordering cakes from them for over 30yrs. The cakes and pastries are Phenomenal. The staff has changed through out the years and a lot of women I dont know working there anymore, I only know 1 woman and she is a wonderful person. They are very clean and welcoming they are high demand and it can be stressful for the staff, All my Life I seen lines out the doors for the Holidays. Their cake fillings are my favorite. Their cheesecake is to die for! It truly still is a decedent treat to buy when I can, its comforting to my soul especially since its so nostalgic to me. Artusos is the Best Pastry Shop in this Neighborhood. ❤
The first thing to attract me was how emacculate this place is. I was truly impressed! So many goodies to choose from. Tasty, delicious & yummy! The owner was polite & welcoming, as well as the employees. Dont take my word,, go & treat yourself to some delightful pastries!

The cannoli was excellent. as were the lemon drop cookies. but with only three people in the store it took almost 15 minutes to get a cannoli and lemon drop cookies.
Overall the pastries are delicious. (Although the girls that work there at the time of this review seemed a bit like they didnt want to be there.) This establishment has been a gem in the Bronx for a long time and one of our own slices of heaven!!

This is hands down THE best bakery in the Bronx for a cake. The staff are professional and well-mannered, their services are spot on, and the CAKES? Well, if you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. The cookies are also fantastic. Highly recommend the buttercream frosting and the French custard fillings for cakes. If you need a customized cake for an occasion, check out the pictures on their insta for reference. Their specialty cakes are delicious AND beautiful. Great, delicious and awesomely-tasting early birthday surprise package received from Artuso Pastry Shop in Tampa FL. Special and best birthday gift received from my brother Dan (aka Ernie to some). Package contained mixed cookies, mini Cannolis CS kit and Lobster Tail Pastry. Been a long time since moving away from the Bronx but recalled daily visits walking home from school JHS & HS and stopping in to Artusos for the delicious Italian ices back in the 60s. Great memories! Many miles full of experiences and years later, upon receiving the package, fondest of memories returned. Gladly recommend on-line order. Product was well packaged. Cannoli shells were (past tense) lighter, crispier and flakier than locally purchased product. Cannoli filling compares about the same though. Winner in this taste-test is Artusos, hands down. Patience was not a virtue in this instance. Finished the Cannolis during breakfast and sampled some of the cookies. Although not traditional breakfast fare, it was really good. Only thing left is a little of the Cannoli filling. On the bright side, only sampled some of the cookies, so some are left. Also remains is the Lobster Tail Pastry but I am positive the taste will exceed expectations. Packaging-wise is the only slightly downside. Some of the Cannoli shells arrived in pieces. Now, on the upside, Cannoli pieces did not diminish taste paired with the great filling. Glad to see Artusos Bakery (I meant Pastry) Shop is still in place, managed by the Family and doing very well. Overall, extremely pleased with all products received. Great pastries and family-owned business!
Love love love tres leche cake is on point all of riveting that comes out of there is on point. They made my daughters 1st birthday a hot with their cake. Will go again and again. My daughter had 2 cakes 1 for get real birthday which was tres leche with fresh strawberries and the 2nd was canoli with fresh strawberries and they both hit the spot.

YUM. Got some vanilla/yellow cake with Bavarian cream and fresh berries on top for Mother’s Day. SO GOOD. We had dinner afterwards otherwise I would’ve gotten cannolis and much more, but it was a hot evening and couldn’t keep these things safely in the car. Can’t wait to return and get ALL THE THINGS.

Okay so first of all Im from Brooklyn and I dreamed of finding something similar to Fortunato Brothers but guys this place is just as amazing as my Fortunato. The staff is awesome and friendly. The strawberry banana cake is heaven . All of the pastries are so fresh and delicious. I love this place and frequently visit and I would absolutely recommend this place especially if you are visiting Authur Ave.
A huge selections of goodies. But prices be careful very easy can add up, you pay by the pound and theres so many pastry to choose from by the time you finish ordering you bill will be a lot. When I order a few goodies in a small box cost me $26.50 and the box was not full.I admit there delicious 😋 😍 just watch what you order, $$$$$$$$$$.
I’m really disappointed I’ve been buying cakes and pastries for years. I came in today to pick up a cake I ordered, there is a long line and I explained to the manager over the phone I’m pregnant and can’t wait for long periods of time I waited close to 20 mins. The manager Jerry said there were no exceptions. The way they have everyone wait outside regardless of picking up or buying is ridiculous. The protocol on working with the elderly and disabled customers is horrible.

How unfortunate that Artuso is NOT what it use to be. The owner Anthony condones poor customer service from his teenage workers. If you want to be spoken to disrespectfully and get decent pasrty Artuso is the place to go.

Went in to custom design a birthday cake, but the girl helping me told me they dont have any cake designs to look at due to covid, only wedding cakes... This is a bit rediculous. I was disappointed and ordered a cake. Im not sure how is going to look.. Next time I guess Ill have to go somewhere else, where Ill have better customer service.
Horrible place, they make your order their way and make the cakes their way. Very deceiving. I Ordered a a custom cake and was given something completely different. Alot of restrictions when you want a cake. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Customer service is terrible the ladies are rude and not professional. Managers dont care and they would argue with you nonstop. Dont ever purchase a custom cake from this place.
I have been going to this bakery for many years but its starting to fail. Ordered a cake of chocolate with chocolate mousse & fresh strawberries. Was told there was no guarantee I could get fresh strawberries due to Valentines season. 1st of all Valentines is still 2weeks away & if I am paying for services it is the bakery job to supply. Then I was told I could provide my own strawberries to make sure the cake had them. Could not believe my ears. I bought 2 boxes of strawberries asked them to use them all on my cake since I paid for them & sure enough my strawberries where not all on my cake. When I cut the cake there was barely strawberries inside only the ones on top of the cake. Not ordering ever again. Thankfully the cake taste good just didnt get what I asked for plus got my strawberries taken probably for somebody elses order

I have been visiting Arturo pastry shop since I was a little child when stores were own by Italy 🇮🇹 or few Jewish owners and the owners from the pastRyan are now resting in peace but its is still family 👪 owners like son or grandsonbut as long as the Arturo I am Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and I was one of the Spanish family 👪 that live in little Italy 🇮🇹 at the time as I grew up I worked at Howard Johnson if you new little Italy you know where Howard Johnson was people that visiting the Zoo or botanical Gardens would come the whole part of the little Italy area Restaurants and pasta places the famous moon pizzeria its not what it use to be the Italy people should of never leave the area but I know and understand why most have left but some of the best years of my life I lived there and I used to go to Fordham Hospital come of the student doctors came from Fordham University it was nice God bless us and all of us that have good memories of little Italy from years ago

I brought cheesecake for me & my husband. 1st of all, the staff was very nice to me. Secondly, the strawberry cheesecake was absolutely delicious 💯! The cake was very creamy & the strawberries were fresh and ripe. It was perfect...hard not to keep going back in the refrigerator for more!! Too good! 😁💯
My birthday cake was honestly disappointing! Like the frosting resembled the ones at supermarket, extremely sweet but tasted gross like cheap and poorly made. This was extremely sad for a women who always orders red velvet for her birthday, and expects much. My mother and friends couldnt even stomach it. Never ordering from there again!

The pastries, cakes and cookies are always fresh and taste awesome. This is a place you need to go early to because some of their more popular items like the mini cheesecakes and the chocolate covered strawberries goes quickly. It is set up like an old bakery, so you know good stuff is coming out of there 😊. This place has been around for decades and now I see why. Yum yum.
Pretty good spot to have pastries if your in the area. If your a fan of cannolis they have a range of sizes which Ive never seen. (Pretty cool)
The cannoli and espresso here are good but the best thing about this place is the people. Extremely friendly service and great family store type vibe. Had to walk a ways to get to this spot on a recommendation and glad I did. I will definitely come back to try more stuff - and they’ve got a lot.

First time coming to New York and had to stop here for a cannoli. The girl at the counter was super helpful and gave us 2 mini cannolis for free since it was our first time. They were so delicous. If youre EVER near, stop by. Its definitely worth it.
Lapin and I came here last Sunday for dessert. We ordered a handful of things to go and we were able to enjoy some of our treats in the bakery. The staff was quick and friendly. Although, when I asked for recommendations, the lady who helped us had no idea what their bestseller was. The desserts themselves were okay -- nothing noteworthy (although, I might visit again if I was in the area). We had the vanilla cannoli, red velvet cake, and rainbow cookies.

This place has been around for as long as I can remember. My family has always gotten their cakes here for special occasions since at least the early 80s. You cant go wrong with anything you buy here. Its all good!

Clean, friendly staff and so many choices! My favorite came in three varieties (Canolli withkut sprinkles, with sprinkles or dipped in chocolate). There were also mini versions of them. I was in pastry heaven 😍

Amazing canolis and cakes! Everything in this place is so good! We tried their cakes which are amazing, and also the canoli which is always fresh and delicious! The only bad thing about this place is the staff is with attitude and its so mean sometimes! Overall nice experience with the sweet stuff!

Very orderly bakery near Arthur Avenue. Always busy, but they have a number system so you never feel slighted while waiting. The selection of cookies rotates fairly regularly and the prices are reasonable. The Italian cookies with the choclate raspberry dot in the center are the best.
The best place for cakes, cookies and cannoli in The Boogie Down Bronx. Their fillings are amazing and their tri-colore cake is moist and full of flavor. Their birthday and wedding cakes are exceptional. Dont bother going anywhere else. You are home here.

If u bake cake of ur own, u will know the difference between fresh and not. I order a cake for a baby shower n they gave me two orders and wanted me to return the other order when already open n touch, they said they dont care and need top deliver it to the other client. Completely nasty. I live close by too. I rather do my own cakes then buy any outside cakes and no my cakes are no from box they are homemade. I have been buying from Artusos for over 20 years and it has always been a pleasure to go to this bakery. Unfortunately, today that changed. They have very young girls working in the bakery and they are immature and have very poor customer service skills. We were attended by Carmen today who had an attitude and at the end got our order incorrect.Im very disappointed.

I love Artuso! Love it! So it may not be your sit down cafe spot but this is the place where you get your freshly made coffee rings, tea biscuits, apple pockets etc and bring it home. Their mini cake rolls and cream puffs are ahhhhmazing!!!!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Artuso. This has been my go-to bakery and dessert shop for the last 18 years. My latest purchase was a cake for my sisters 50th birthday. When we walked in for pickup, it wasnt exactly what we envisioned. However, the staff went over and above to make corrections and additions so that we would fall in love with the cake, and we did.
Artusos is outstanding. I have never had a less than excellent pastry. The only problem is choosing what to buy from their extraordinary array of sweets. Best pastries in the Bronx.

I came into Artusos today to order a cake for my birthday on the 4th., I ask for a NAPOLEON cake they told me it would have different frosting (regular birthday cake frosting ewww) on the sides of the cake that didnt compliment the flavors already in the cake or on top of the cake. I was confused? Why could the cake not be left open on the side TO MY SPECIFIC WANTS !!!???? Im paying!? I GUESS ITS NOT HOW YOU WANT IT BUT HOW THEY FEEL LIKE DOING IT!! I will not be returning or recommending...
I live across the street from this bakery. I go there often for chocolate covered strawberries and occasionally their small cheesecake for the husband.i bought 8 yesterday right before close and 6 of them were bad. I went back today and spoke to the manager and after 4 different people spoke to me an older man came after he got off his phone. After i showed him both pictures and video of the fruit and he didnt believe me. Made me feel like my video wasnt enough. He needed the actual strawberries that i threw away. 8 berries for $12 i thought was worth it when u get good product but not ever again. Time to start looking for a new pastry store

My family has ordered cakes and other goods from this bakery since before the 90s. Our favorite in the family is a cake filled with real Strawberries and Bananas. The Cannoli is tooooooooo die for! The staff is always friendly and this place is always packed with orders, but they always deliver. Cream cheese frosting is a necessity when making Red Velvet Cake unlike the overly sweet white icing that is used here. The cake was beautifully decorated, although it did not taste at all homemade I have tasted muchbetter box cakes than this cake was prepared . Sorry im just saying
Hardly a soul in the shop.Went to.order a cake for aniversary and it took a whole 15min for someone to talk to us.And got straight runaround about cakes.Only round, square or sheet.No we dont do that.Be right back never came back.

AlDI helped me last night with a cake I needed by 730am today. She practically designed my entire cake as I was clueless and its beyond beautiful. I been dealing w artuso for years always exceed my expectations and the cake is always so tasteful. Must try bananas and fresh strawberries Aaaaaahmazing. Ive been going to Artusos for almost 18 years. My only daughter will be 18 in 2 months and before that my mother has been going there since I was a little girl. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE CAKES. Even moving to upstate New York I still get my cakes from here. Yummm. And being that I have 5 kids now more cakes to come.

I LOVE ARTUSO. Their pastries are GREAT and I find the staff to be really fast and helpful. If I have a complain about Artuso is that they dont offer coffee and maybe a smaller cake selection but those two things dont take away the fact that Artuso pastries are GREAT. My family & I have been buying our cakes there for years!! & even on events or occasionally we buy some cookies and great treats to bring home! But after my experience today I will never step a foot in that place ever again. Tomorrow is my dads birthday and he wanted something different, An ice cream cake! We got him a ice cream cake & then decided to get his name written on the cake from our favorite artuso bakery. We called ahead and asked if it was possible to get his name written on the cake, the lady was polite on the phone. She puts me on a brief hold just to confirm if they would write my dads name. She then said yes no problem come by. I was so happy! Because his cake was so plain with out the happy birthday dad! We were in such a rush & desperate need we didnt care how much it would cost to write his name. Money wasnt the issue, but the women says they do it free of charge. Obliviously we were going to tip her then. We get to the store 5 mins later because we live near by. & as soon as we told the cashier , the manager said no! Are you kidding me? We are willing to pay?! Because its not your cake . its a bakery.. Dont you guys do this all the time . we even asked if we bought like a cookie topper & then have them write my dads name! He repeatedly said no over and over again. Like if I didnt understood him. Horrible customer service!!!! You dont tell a customer one thing and then rudely do the opposite when they show up to your business!Dont get me wrong. Great cakes and pastries but horrible staff. And tons of attitude and unpromising business

I think that these reviews were posted by employees. I gave them a one star because I had no other choice it wouldnt let me post my review if I didnt give then at least ONE STAR WICH THEY DID NOT DESERVE!. They sold us 4 1/2 lbs of assorted stale cookies and a $500.00 birthday cake that was gross. The whole bottom layer of the cake went into the garbage. We had over 100 guest and nobody wanted to take home, thats how bad the cake tasted. I can honestly say that 99% of the cake was thrown out.

Some of the best pastries from a famed Italian bakery, all the way frin the Boogie Down Bronx. Thier customer service is on point and the exchanges along with the personal interaction is never dull. Canollis, Rumbabas and Napoleons, all great...need I say more. My take on what I was given.
Theres lots of pastry shops in the area, but in my opinion, Artuso is the best! It might not be the ritziest, but their baked goods are always fresh and their pricing is better.

2021-08-02When we passed by Artuso Pastry Shop, there was a line by their entrance. We would like go know how good their pastry is, so we joined the line to give it a try.Their pastry is in a great variety and we had difficulties deciding . Luckily, a kind lady behind us recommended us to have their Cannoli and Lobster Tail. Both were decent, especially the filling, which was creamy but not too heavy.

2022-06-21I came here for fathers day. Got a chocolate cake. Asked the girl to put happy fathers day on it. She had to put something on top of it which cost extra to then write happy fathers day on it. Payed for it and others pastries that was purchased. I drive all the way back to pa. And it was the wrong cake although she wrote on the cake that it was the all chocolate cake. Those girls were taking orders and mixing up peoples boxes. So when I open it, excited to show my father what I got for him on his day.... Well yea the disappointment..... I wanted to throw the cake out the garbage.... Thank you for that by the way for not knowing how to handle such a busy day. I wont be coming here anymore.

2022-04-29This is honestly the BEST bakery in the Bronx! Ive had ordered from many many other bakeries for years and this one is the best, now i always order my cakes here. I live 45 muns away but I would travel all the way just for a connoli or slice of cake. TRES LECHE WITH STRAWBERRY FILLING IS MY FAVORITE!! ITS AMAZING!! BEST IVE EVER HAD! BEST BAKERY!
