I cant say enough how welcoming and awesome this experience was. It was like going home after a long work week to a hot meal and family to come home to. Thank you Mary and the rest of the staff for making our 1st visit to your diner such a treat. The food was perfect,, the staff 110%, and it made our day a little better just by being with you guys.. We will be coming back here every time were in the area ❤
Auburn has two great diners and this is one of them. Completely restored in 2003, this is one of just a few remaining diners built by the Bixler Manufacturing Company. The diner is small and always busy, but the excellent food and service, not to mention the historic building itself, make it a must visit.
I got to be honest its not the food that brings me there all the time. Though the food is delicious its the staff that keeps me coming back. I highly recommend sitting at the bar and watching the shenanigans that is Auburn diner. They should just call it Marys place!!!
We waited close to an hour for our food. The omelet was tasty, but it was room temperature. The hash browns were partially burned, but barely warm. The toast was bordering on being burnt. We ordered 2 pancakes. The top one was cooked perfectly, but was chewy and didnt have much flavor. The bottom one was super dark and impossible to cut with a fork. One bright spot is that our server was great. Im not sure why this place is #3 out of all restaurants in Auburn on trip Advisor.
Great food and very friendly staff. The place was busy and one cook and one waitress (because of corona) took care of everyone. We waited a little longer than usual for our fish dinners but it was definitely worth the wait. They were delicious! Also, the coconut cream pie was great
Were from out of town and were looking for a simple local diner for a good breakfast. The food here was very good, large portions, and good price. Staff were friendly and I was entertained listening to one of the waitresses riffing on one of the regulars. Nice experience!
Had breakfast here with my Pop and Son on a Saturday morning in early June. Very busy. Had about a 20 minute wait outside. Wished they couldve served us outside on their patio tables. Great vibe, good ambience both outside and in. Not sure why they have such nice outside seating but dont use it. Regardless, it was worth the wait I suppose. The food was fantastic. Bring your appetite, no jokes on their portion sizes. Quirky service though. I had ordered an orange juice and was brought a cup about a 1/4 full of juice. The gal that brought it said they were out and needed to run down cellar to bring up more. She stopped by the table several times asking if we needed refills but seem to miss the orange juice everytime. A testament to how busy they were was my guess. Another server happened along a bit later and rectified the situation. They did not charge me for that OJ by the way. It gave us something to jokingly chide about at our table other than ourselves. Everyone enjoyed their food. My Son had the Montecristo and loved it. To my surprise really. . .as he has never liked anything to do with eggs. Considering the whole sandwich is dipped in eggs I found that quite revealing as to how good it mustve been. My Pop had the Western Omelette and was more than content with his. He found the orange juice situation very entertaining. So he got a good breakfast and a show. I had the Sausage Gravy & Biscuits with a couple of Sunnyside up eggs. HOLY SMOKES!! Did I mention the portions. I was very satisfied with my choice. It was delicious and I had leftovers for dinner that evening. It was perfect. I definitely recommend coming here if you are in the Auburn area around breakfast time. Dont be afraid to speak up if you need something though.
The food here is excellent, well cooked, and served quickly with marked courtesy. The decor is tasteful, classic, and a memorable example of Americana done right. The bathrooms are clean, the lighting is excellent. One may have to wait for a table; it is worth a short wait and the food is so good that one can understand waiting due to a restaurants popularity. Every dish I remember eating here over the past years has been consistently well cooked and tasty. I do not remember one negative experience with the waitresses. Bravo.
Would give the staff here ZERO stars if we could. Wife and I stopped there for lunch, we were politely told that we would be seated next. Over the course of the next 20 minutes waiting, 4 other couples walked in and were immediately taken to tables. In fact one of the couples that bypassed the wait were eating before I finally asked what was up. I was told that they are regulars and you are not!!!!! Never again will we want to try that place and I will let my extensive family and group of local friends know how they treat folks
Best Diner in this area. Along with delicious food you are welcome to watch the play. Main Charakters: waitresses and the local customers. Everyone treated as deserved. To us the staff was so nice and welcoming. We so enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Everyone within a 1 h ride should experience this lovely diner. Thank you!
Home fries are like warm boiled potatoes hardly any seasoning.Scrambled eggs look like a train wreck ,they are never whipped. You get a plate with white and yellow mess.Omlets come in the same fashion.Wait staff is A one ,and alot of the customer are there for that reason alone.
A nice little find in Auburn.... Food was good, reasonably priced, and plentiful, but arrive early if you want one of the specials. Pies are good, but a tad pricey at $5.50 a slice.... The best part about this place is if you sit at the bar, you get lots of witty banter for no extra charge. We were very entertained at the interaction between regulars and the waitresses.
Great food! Got the Auburn Diner super breakfast (not really called that) which included 2 of the following: pancakes, bacon, sausage, egs. Also had home fries, toast, and a slice of ham. It filled me up and Im now sitting full! Would def go again next time Im in Auburn.
The Auburn Dinner is THE place to eat for breakfast , lunch and dinner .(Thurs/Fri only till 8:00). We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast and our GPS led us to THE AUBURN DINER . The food was excellent , and the service was equally excellent .The diner itself was remarkably clean and the atmosphere was very light hearted and friendly . Our visit will be remembered for a long time and we look forward to returning . Allan & Sande Smith. .

2022-05-24Good food and very friendly staff. Tight quarters makes it more challenging but this group is very professional. The selections are good and they offer many options. The number if toast (bread) selections was impressive. It was even toasted properly, not dried out.

2021-09-13I was looking for a quick diner breakfast and this place popped up on my search so I made my way here. The place is small and the parking lot was packed. It was only me so I told the hostess the bar was fine if one came available. The waitress was quick to bring me coffee and take my order. I got one of the breakfast specials. Scrambled eggs, sausage, and has browns with toast. The eggs were definitely scrambled on the flat top because it was a tie dye mix of white and yellow. Not cool. Youre not that busy to grab a bowl or have some pre scrambled. And the toast had the bare minimum amount of butter. It was like they took the tip of the knife on the edge and put a 3mm dab of it on there. Do I expect more from diners, probably.

2021-06-06Absolutely phenomenal. Delicious coffee, the food was outstanding, and the bacon was perfectly cooked. I wouldnt have thought to do biscuits and gravy in a bowl, but it works so well. Highly recommend of youre ever in the area

2022-02-25I came here last year and my food was good. My moms food on the other hand and was not good. Her french toast tasted like onions and our bacon was barley cooked. Also sadly one of waitresses at the time I was there was getting treated really badly by the customer. He was being sexist. I was trying to be nice to the women because the other women didnt even bother to care. Then the other women that was working at the time seemed really jealous and ignored us the entire time. Possibly might come back might not. Didnt feel welcomed. :(

2022-06-22Breakfast options are wonderful. Local cinnamon buns from Camerons are HUGE. Great service and a friendly waitress who even brought my phone outside to me when I forgot it on the table. Definitely will be back again!

2022-03-21Always a favorite breakfast spot. Always make it a point to vote for them. Best staff in town. They dont always have a line for no reason, but they are fast and organized. Keep up the great work.

2022-05-22Was excited to try this place as we had heard good things. The only seating for our family was outside which was no problem, but the waitress immediately asked us if we wanted to eat out there bc the table was dirty and I asked for a washcloth. I was happy to pitch in and wipe my own table. I said it was the only open table that would fit our family as it was a busy Sunday and she gave us a dirty look. Then she delivered drinks to another table and told them it was going to be a while and then turned to us and told us the same. I again asked for a washcloth just so we could sit comfortably as the table was kinda gross and she again gave me a dirty look and said it would be a while. We conversed as a family and decided that a really stressed out and annoyed waitres was not for us so we left. First impressions really are everything and she was everything but welcoming and kind.

2022-05-23This place nails it! American nostalgia at its finest. The crew really makes you feel welcome and like family. I wish I could bring it back to Florida with me. If you are in the area,do not pass it up.
