Barnes & Noble in other cities:
I have been in love with book stores since childhood, and Barnes & nobles has certainly at times been a place of book lover luxury. While I recognize that over the last year for too many awful things that happened, making buying and supplying stock in a bookstore more difficult, my experience most recently, left me cold. The stock seemed unbalanced relative to buyer needs. At a time when people are home much more, a huge vast wall of self-help books, and the tiny and I do mean tiny, section on hobbies and crafts, seemed odd. Moreover in these challenging economic times, to really find nothing in the way of extraordinarily well priced bargain books, and the promotion of coffee table books that have been out well over a year at regular prices, seems puzzling. So, after a dispiriting wander about, I managed to snatch the last copy of hello magazine, and left with no gifts for others and no treats but for the magazine, for myself.
Great place overall. Prices are typical for its category of store, but regardless, Im just thankful to have a brick and mortar bookstore around. Theres pretty good deals on the iced coffee ($0.50 refills).Id give 5 stars but a few of the café staff are unprofessional and unfriendly; talking badly about people on the other side of the counter, for one. Ive since decided to go elsewhere because of that, but for most people its probably a great place to find newer books and have a snack and/or drink. Just dont bring musicians ears..!
My experience at Barnes & Noble was the best. After being in quarantine for so long it was refreshing to see books again. The workers in Barnes & Noble were very friendly and helpful. I like their policy concerning mask. I intend to return to this particular Barnes & Noble in purchase more books
Very big book store an not the same as Walden Book store years ago. They have quite a selection of books can find, you can not find what your looking for, they order it by placing an order and will within a few weeks. Plus they have a member ship that only cost $25.00For a year. Whenever you order any book(s) from Barnes & Nobels. The book s will come to your door by mail.
Great reading material...everything and anything! One thing I really dislike is that there are no benches or chairs to sit on and read anymore. In wanting to look through the many topics of genres....I just cant stay as long as I would like. And I certainly dont want to sit on the floor. So 2 stars off-for the inconvenience and interruption in what could have been 2-3hrs. of pleasure with purchase(s).
5 stars just for the smell of books and coffee. But please start carrying trading cards (MTG, yugioh, pokemon, etc) so I can go in, buy some cards, buy a coffee and sit down and have that kind of wonderful experience. The smell of freshly opened trading cards goes so well with the smell of books and coffee.
I visited after the mask mandate went into effect and found that several employees and many customers were not wearing masks. The selection in the store has tanked in recent years and sections i used to frequent arent even there anymore. But if youre looking for bibles or calendars, this is the place for you.
I always enjoy perusing the clearance items. It is a well-organized store in which you can find things yourself but if you cant, assistance is readily available. The workers here are so willing to help you. If they dont enjoy working here, they do a really good job of faking it. The employees just seem so absolutely delighted to help you. I could spend hours and hours here.
Love checking out the book selection here. Lots if great stuff. A bit pricey but thats typical. They have a Starbucks in here that does a good job but they dont take gift cards that every other Starbucks will take. The staff is very knowledgeable and they make great recommendations.
Okay...Barnes & Noble used to be my favorite place to go. Especially the Greece Barnes & Noble. I used to see all kinds of interesting self-help, New Age, Bargain, and Electricity/Electronics books. Also common were The Idiots Guide books on almost anything. There were also Christian, Bibles, and Catholic sections that caught my attention, and Relationships, Reference, Mythology, Philosophy, Poetry,...occasionally my interests would change, plus my College major, plus my life situation, plus the fads that I was interested in or curious about...some years i would get bored with the selection, avoid their store for about half a year, and then go back when there was something new I was interested in. There were big soft chairs to sit in. There were exceptionally nice bathrooms. The cafe was delightful. When their membership card first came out, I knew that I would be saving money, despite the yearly 25$ annual fee, because of the amount of books and merchandise i was buying from them. Nowadays I still like their books and merchandise, but not the cafe, not the chairs, not the bathrooms. Everything about the atmosphere, the charm, that used to be special about Barnes & Noble is gone. So basically, it is now a store, rather than a place to go.
At this particular visit, I loved the fact that one of the employees had her service dog with her, and she let me pet him. ^^ I have always enjoyed reading books at Barnes and Noble, the atmosphere there was so calm, even though this particular location is part of a mall. I also appreciated an associates help in clearing up some confusion for me, which was really good. Overall, I have a really fun time at Barnes and Noble (Greece Location), and I wouldnt trade it for the world.
Hard to evaluate when its the only book store thats seemed to survive. Starbucks inside is a plus, its unfortunately at the dead end of the mall which makes it more of a destination stop rather than something I may gallavant upon. Selection is nice, but prices are usually higher than what you could get on Amazon. Customer service is great, this is where is go if I was looking to gift a book or needed inspiration
Favorite bookstore, browsing or buying, gifting, research, reading or people watching, I just love this bookstore! It really is so much than just any old bookstore I think thats why. Plus the staff is always friendly, helpful, warm and welcoming. Cannot go wrong here whether its a gift for yourself or another and that means any other; significant other, mother, father, sibling, friend, etc... I do believe there is something here for everyone!
Their book selection is immense and their staff is helpful and friendly. They also do small events for kids in their kids section and have a place for them to play. There is also a Starbucks in this B&N and the most recent time I was there they were walking around the store offering samples of their 2 newest drinks! For all the Pokémon Go players, there are 2 Pokéstops you can get to inside the store. One is the sculpture just outside the entrance, which frequently has 5⭐ raids and [usually] bounces between Mystic and Valor control so its great for battles if youre either group.
Friendly staff. Lots of searing upstairs to sit and look at books before you purchase. Great book selecrion, amd if they dont have the book that you are looking for they will order it in for you.Its also nice to sit in the cafe and have a drink with my husband and relax while we look over our new book purchases.
Barnes & Noble has a huge selection of books, magazines, study guides, stationary, educational toys and games, children area with story hour. They can order any book you need. Its the staff that makes this store. They are always helpful and happy to be there. Membership disco discounts and educator discounts. Kids club gets your child a treat from the cafe. This store hosts book fairs for local schools and gives a lot back to the community.
Found the books I went in for and a few others. My kids were both able to find books for themselves as well. If you can find books on sale or the bargain book shelves you can get some real gems, but they charge cover price for everything else and their toys and games are marked up too far for my wallet. I will admit that I often go there just to browse.
No one ever asks if they can help you and I have a hard time spending the money on these books when you can buy used ones online. Its nice that they have a used section, but I have no idea where the employees were and the wait was pretty long considering theres only one person in line.
One of the more attractively laid out Barnes and Nobles I have been in.Nice displays, good variety of books and goods, and a very friendly staff , particularly in the Cafe, where they dealt with a number a challenges with patience and grace ringing up my order with balky softwares glitches.

2022-06-14Very spacious & peaceful environment. I like to come here to relax and read 📚Unfortunately I never really have the extra time to chill but when I do... its very satisfying and quiet as well.

2022-03-20GREAT bookstore! Incredibly rare books, music games, GREAT staff and advisable, all things considered. However if youre looking for a popular book, try Goodwill or Savers first, you can get some of the same titles for $15-30 cheaper!

2022-06-22Overall it is a good place to go for ever the book worm . I have had most of the time a great experience. I am very disgusted though when I walk into the child’s section and there are displays of pride books . Kids don’t need that they need to be kids they get it enough it the school and other areas a book should be very place to be able to let you mind wonder . So please let kids be kids and take down the displays.

2022-07-09Theres still nothing like a good bookstore. Ive always loved this Barnes & Noble. Their prices are still on the high side, and they close a lot earlier now, which is why I only give it 4 stars. But I still enjoy going.

2022-08-08The fact that I can get books that tell the history of Rochester while eating a cupcake is all I need in this life of sin. I know we all know this place has stood the test of time especially with so many books we can get over the web. Nothing beats the smell of the store...the nostalgia...and the customer service is always I mean always the best. The books they have on Rochester are awesome. There is so much history and dark history we all should know about.

2022-05-28The best of the B&Ns around here, docked 1 star for the slim, grey haired older male employee who stalked me around the store while I took my 12 year old daughter shopping for her birthday. I get it man, Im the coolest looking guy youve ever seen, but stalking me like I was gonna steal something while with my daughter made you come across as pretty cringey. Thats why I left that fart in the doorway for you.Which made my daughter laugh, so thanks, kinda, I guess, but also.... $#&@ you.

2022-06-25Very helpful staff. I couldnt find the book I was looking for, asked if they had it and the employee took me right to it. It was actually on one of their highlighted books tables

2022-02-07I love this store and branch. I came in looking for a specific author and was successful. I asked for help and the book seller helped me find what they had in store and ordered me a new book! They suggested the book and they were familiar with the author. The book came in and I got a phone call and a couple of days to come grab it. The experience was seamless. I will be back!

2022-04-12This Barnes and Nobles is very neat and tidy with a nice selection of books. The Barnes and nobles cafe area was very clean. The whole environment of Barnes and nobles was very relaxing, it made me want to sit down and read any book off the shelves.
