I was brought here as a small child 20 years ago, and its still the same amazing atmosphere. They have a hiking trail, too
A clean very well funded branch of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library system. It seems this is where a lot of the library branch money goes, as a result we drive several miles away from our own library to visit this branch since they seem to have more of everything in stock.
This library has a good selection of books and many more that you can request and have sent here for pickup from other branches. The staff is friendly and they also host many public activities such as book sales, computer training, bike raffles, etc.
This place has a nice selection of books and is a great place to study. Spent a lot of time studying here during college. Still get very happy coming here.
Many great titles and they even had a scarecrow craft to make for kids. My toddler really enjoyed this branch.
My family loves this library! Its one of our favorite local spots for rainy days My son loves to play in the toy room :)

Books, CDs, storytelling, old fashioned but up to date place for you if you love to read, borrow movies, or just browse.

2021-07-02The library and facilities are very nice: WiFi, large selection, with a beautiful seating and table area. However, this location seems to function more as a social community center than a library. I think community centers are great, and its clear that Amherst needs one to bring people together and socialize. But if youre looking for a quiet library to read, peruse books, or do some work on a computer, then Id gently suggest going elsewhere.The librarians were the loudest librarians Ive ever heard, literally could hear every word they basically seemed to shout when interacting with every patron. No matter where I was in the library, I could hear them. Then there was a language learning group at one of the tables as well, and kids running around screaming with no attempt by their parents to do anything about it.Im clearly not their main patron, so Ill show myself out and live and let live with those folks who are clearly enjoying their library/community center. I just wanted to give others a heads up what to expect here, since this was not a normal library experience, having have been to A LOT of libraries both in the Buffalo area and across the country.

2021-03-27I felt very discriminated with the people working there as they refused to post our Embrace Grace flyer on the community bulletin board. Embrace Grace is a ministry for single, pregnant women. We offer emotional, practical and spiritual support to girls who find themselves in an unintended pregnancy. Our group allows women to make friends in a similar situation, receive an entirely free baby shower, and be inspired and hope filled through an awesome support system. The librarians said they do not post religious things. Well, I say “why not?” Do they represent our community? They have quite a few booklets for the gay community. I suppose they are in support of their groups. I just don’t think its fair and I feel Christians are being discriminated against.

2019-07-19Many years back, myself and other family members had problems with books we returned. They were not being counted back into the librarys system and other patronswould borrow them, so the library was basically losing track of the books and blaming us for it. After multiple occasions of this happening one of my folks got ahold of some big boss and they fixed the problem. Still we avoided borrowing books for a long time. Anyways, we have finally started renting books again and have not run into any of those problems again. So I would say this branch has improved.
