Absolutely the worst customer service experience, ever, anywhere with any type of institution. So poor a community bank lacks any consideration whatsoever for their depositor members. Membership in what? Service inadequate, incomplete and virtually non-existent. If we wanted this type of service we would, can and will go to the likes of Paypay, Square, Alipay and many others. This is a Credit Union, you sully the name of Credit Unions across the country.
I have been with this bank over 12 years, never had any problems until I needed help with services. I paid off my mortgage and I am trying to get a satisfaction letter from them. But customer service is so bad; it takes me hours to get in touch with them over the phone (actually days) and they are still not helping me. The persons are rude and hang-up on me. I deal with other banks and never had such a problem. Right now I am on the phone with them, for over 10 minutes, and nobody assists me.
Overall this credit union is very good. Where they fall down it the web site (bill payment specifically, which I use regularly) and their call center. On the web site, you can not export your bills into a standard spreadsheet format. You can do it for all the other pages, but not scheduled payments. Neither can you see the total due when you filter for all the bills due before your next paycheck. I have to write down the list and add them up *by hand*! What century are we living in here?Also the call center, while the service is fine, takes 3-5 minutes just to go through the menu and then all the security approvals to even ask a simple question like, What are your holiday hours?
The bank card I never use for transactions has been hacked. First call woman said very high volume of calls for fraud at BCU. Had to call another number to close my card and report. I was instructed to go to bank for replacement card and get charges refunded. Stopped by security and told I wasn’t allowed to go through drive through either. They said to call another number to make an appt w an open branch. That number said they couldn’t help me. Not surprised they were hacked. Poor infrastructure and worse customer service. Sooooo I have no bank card to access my accounts and cannot get my fraudulent charges reimbursed. *****if you’re receiving a call or VM for fraudulent charges DO NOT CALL BACK. That number is fraudulent as well. Call the number on your card to be safe but sadly BCU won’t be any help.
Applied for a heloc and was declined because my home was a modular. Nowhere on the application did it ask if the house was a modular or state that they were not eligible for a line of credit. This bank uses deceptive practices. When I asked the processor about it he said he was just a processor and he didnt make the decisions. When I asked to speak to somebody that did make decisions he said to call the customer service line. Applying for credit like this uses a hard credit inquiry and damages your credit score. Buyer beware. Complaint filed with the Federal Banking Commission
Been a memeber here since high school im now 33 years old and since day one have offered me a 5 star service. My account has been flagged for fraud activity several times over the years and they have protected my account they identified fraud locked the account and notified me immediately.They have always protected me showed me respect. When by phone I’m thabked for being a long term member they do their best to resolve any issues, and when I stop inside they do their best of keeping the wait time down.Banking with this credit union has been an amazing time.Now the part they can use a little improvement in is when people call in like my self and relatives they provide very little information about loans or investing options.
I have used this bank for 15 years! we get a new account , set up direct deposit , get a pin number and a debit card, online banking is working amazing. go to use the account at an ATM and denied, Bill Pay denied, Transfer to my savings which it is linked to DENIED! Call them to complain and they say , send us your ID and Proof of Residence. Sent the info with in 2 hours . Fast forward 4 days later the account is still locked and being told it is locked for FRAUD and we have to wait for the fraud department to call us. $$$$$ of dollars in the checking account and they wont give me access to my own money deposited through DIRECT DEPOSIT. Did i also mention calling 10 times and then being hung up on my a supervisor. PS IF SOMEONE FROM BFCU IS READING THIS FIX MY ACCOUNT! 10 CALLS 4 EMAILS .
I have sent in numerous requests to close my 401K account or to have it transferred to a Florida bank and both myself and the bank officers at my Florida bank have been given the run around for two months. Its not as if its a whole lot of money and the behavior and total lack of consideration and professionalism is totally uncalled for.
I have been a member of BFCU for over 30 years. My grandfather worked at Grumman many years ago and you couldnt get into BFCU unless someone got you in through family ties. Then the service was impeccable. As the years crept by and Bethpage went more commercial, their customer service has taken a nose dive. They absolutely do not care about customer satisfaction, the customer is and will be told they are wrong- even if they are not- and issues with their systems or faulty policies, more specifically charging me $.14 (or so) when my overdraft reads a zero balance - then telling me Im 30 days late bc I owe a balance- is unheard of...this went on for years and no one could explain the issue to me until this year when I finally closed the account- it was my fault bc when your account goes into overdraft and you pay it down (pay it in full), there is still a balance. If someone can explain that to me in English, Im willing to learn.Anyhow- its very sad because Ive had many car loans and mortgages paid in full through Bethpage, and you would think with a long term relationship in excellent standing, one would get decent treatment...not happening here.The only thing exceptional and keeping them in business are their low rates.
Great rates, but customer service is a horror show. The website is confusing, poorly laid out, and not at all user friendly. If there is fraud on your account, be prepared to wait weeks for the charges to be reversed. You will spend countless hours trying to resolve it to no avail. Will be closing all my accounts
I was a fraud victim and Bethpage refused to provide me with critical information in ragards to the account. Although all the fraudulent loan funds were being wire transfered to Bethpage, they refused to help me obtain the correct info to fill with the local police and the FTC. They also WOULD NOT let me speak with the banch manager or provide me with a number to the actual branch. Basically, the customer service (overseas) couldnt answer my questions either because of the language barrier. Over two hours was spent on the phone, emails etc... and the results were poor. Im starting to wonder if this bank was actually part of the security issue itself when it comes to identity theft.
Excellent and Terrible...... The employees in the branches give excellent service while the 800 call center has employees who know little and give out wrong answers. I blame top management for not addressing the problems at the 800 Call Center which is not even located in New York. Management needs to wake up and call the 800 number and realize the problems.
I dont know how the service is in this branch but bethpage constantly messes up. I have a card due to the high interest rates but in the past, customer service has given me wrong information after wrong information. They say they submit a report and an investigation and then it doesnt happen. I call again and again for no solution
Horrible experience i have been trying to get a loan thru bethpage since september 2015 , and until today i dont have closing date jan 2016 , i dont recomend this people very very bad costumer service Everyone is nice and apologetic, you call and call and never get an answer, they call you when ever they want and never give you a complete answer. i feel like i have to beg for a loan ......
I HAVE BEEN PLACED ON HOLD 2 TIMES ASKED FOR THE SAME INFORMATION 2 TIMES 1/2 HOUR GONE AND i CANT SPEAK TO THE HEAD OF THE MORTGAGE DEPARTMENT RE LACK OF SATISFACTION OF THE NOTE DOCUMENTS. MORE OVER THE WOMEN I SPOKE WITH MICHELLE AND TIFFANY WERE CLEARLY TOO LIMITED TO ASSIST ME IN ANY WAY;i HAVE SIGNIFICANT BANKING AT BFCU THAT IS NOW BEING RECONSIDERED AS THE STAFF USES THE 800 NUMBER AS A SCREENING TOOL AND I AM NOT GOING TO CONTINUE TO WASTE MY TIME PLAYING THE GAME WHERE WE PASS AROUND THE PHONE CALL AND NOTHING GETS ACCOMPLISHED
This number does not work because I call and ask for all the information, I put it in and there is or does not put all the information that it asks for, it says that it is incorrect and then the call knocks me down and communication is impossible or you are ridículous
I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income and bethpage federal credit union in Hempstead,ny allowed child support collections in Albany I guess took all my disability fund ,from 19k to zero and still continue to take everything I have until I cant provide for myself and all my children I Personally provide for and still have to buy things they need...god bless America it shouldnt be like this

2022-03-18I spoke with a manager today who was 100% inappropriate! I moved out of State, & he decided to close out my accounts without my permission after we spoke out of spite because I told him how unacceptable his behavior was.Find a different Credit Union to trust with your money!

2022-05-07Bought out my lease with them and it has been a headache getting the title from their titles department/lease dept. Called multiple times been transferred and bounced around told they are taking care of it. 4 months later I still have no title and now Im getting letters from Bethpage that I need get the documents together to perfect the lien. All that is missing is the title which I still do not have. I even went to the DMV and wasted my time as they said all that is missing is the title. When I call they only have a record of one of my phone calls when in fact I have called 8 times since January to May. So very incompetent and frustrating I will never take out any loan with them again. RUN from this place they clearly do not get things done here.

2022-03-23RUN FROM THIS INSTITUTION! BFCU does not care how much of your time they waste. Cust Svce just transferred me 5 times. All five reps couldnt help me transfer money from my BFCU business checking to my BFCU personal checking. Most of the customer service reps sound so far away or muffled that you cant hear them anyway. I gave up talking to anyone live, and tried the TelService. After entering my SS# and pin, it started listing account numbers I dont own for me to transfer money into and out of. Using the BFCU credit card is a nightmare too. They never send a statement on time (or at all, some months) so you have to track them down each month to find out how much to pay. I am currently seeking a new credit union to put all my money and just canceled my credit card with them.

2022-06-06This bank is pretty much trash, most of the people who work here can’t get hired at a real bank. If you ever get fraudulent charges, they will take the criminals side. This place is worse than Biden.

2021-12-23The new automated phone system is stupid and confusing. Whose horrible idea was this? There was nothing wrong with the old system. There is a delay in the information relay which can be very misleading with regard to balances.

2020-12-11Possibly one of the worst customer service experiences, ever. Applied for a re-finance in June of 2020 and fast forward to December of 2020 with no progress. During that time Ive asked for updates -- no response from the processing company, the banker who filed my loan, the branch manager but only to receive a random email to file the same documents which Ive shared several times already. Ive left off many many details. As a customer who has taken out several mortgages across several banks this was the first time I felt where the bank honestly didnt care about me. Think twice about bringing any money here, or taking a loan from this bank -- it plain out stinks.

2020-09-04Absolutely horrible customer service and specifically the mortgage department. Learned they outsourced to a company in Maryland that is incompetent at best. They dont care about the customer, communication and actually took money from me that I am still fuming about. Took 5 months to do a refi and I could have bought my mortgage outright. They make everything difficult in the portal as well. As a result I have pulled all of my investments out of the bank which included CDs and youth savings amongst other accounts. Other than using for a good rate, I would strongly suggest banking elsewhere. Such a shame.

2021-08-16I will no longer be using bethpage for loans. We got a car loan from bethpage and it has been nothing but a nightmare. When you call customer service number nobody will help you. They use covid as an excuse that they are slow but are constantly sending threatening letters for paperwork that has already been submitted
