If you wanna eat Italian food Michelangelo would have craved, you have to try Tonys. Their Italian Sub is a true master piece. Ive eaten here at least 20 times in the past 6 weeks, and now, still wishing I could have lunch and dinner there again. Tony himself has the innovation of Da Vinci and the crafting talent of Donatello. All of their food is that heavenly. It is truely magical how delishous the food is for the price that it is...My rank:#1 Italiano Sub (Normal or Super)#2 Bocaccini (sp?) rolls#3 Garlic Knots#4 Tortellini#5 PizzaAnd the difference between #1and #5 is minimal.
Food was very good. The spinach artichoke dip was one of the best Ive had. So cheesy!!!Big portions! Loved it.Staff was very friendly.Only two complaints were that we wanted to sit in a booth but they were very tight, as a plus sized woman. The table was screwed in so couldnt be adjusted in any manner. We had to change to a table (which they were very accommodating about) but was still very embarrassing for me.Also only the hostess and the pizza oven staff member were wearing a mask. No other kitchen (open kitchen) or wait staff had a mask on.
It was ok.. very expensive for the kind of food you get. Probably won’t go back. Nothing was delicious and the calamari were all crumbs I’m not sure if there were any in the order at all, they were tiniest calamari I’ve seen! I tried 5 different things there, what a waste of $100!
We had received a gift certificate from our family to eat here and we ended up getting takeout. Not only was the food done and ready for pickup in 15 minutes, it was some of the best pasta dishes we have ever had. I was hesitant to sub in some gluten free pasta (as not all are created equal) and it was just perfect. I even had leftovers for lunch today! Thank you again, we will definitely be back! ☺
Penny our waitress was excellent. She instantly recognized that we were celebrating a special occasion and provided special attention to our granddaughters. The service, food and atmosphere was perfect for our birthday celebration. We left full and with leftovers. The pasta sauce is amazing. A great night out. Will definitely go back again and again.
Ordered for take out. 5 meals. 2 Shrimp Scampi, 2 Pasta Alfredo and a chicken parm. The food was ok nothing to write home about. The portions were fine, presentation was ok. But there was no flavor at all. I was expecting garlic, italian herbs, seasoning - nothing! The Alfredo was borderline tasteless and runny, The scampi was missing the wow factor and the chicken parm was over cooked, and tough. None of the meals were finished. I tried to call, not really to complain but to let them know what was going on.. $120 disappointing fail at dinner tonight.
The food was delicious, I got the cheesy fries as my appetizer and the penne vodka as my entrée. The waitress and staff overall were very friendly and they were willing to help us with whatever we needed. The restaurant was accommodated for COVID with spacing between the booths and a mask on policy until in your booth. Reservations are a great idea to ensure a table. Would surely go here again!
My favorite resturant in my town area *fairport perinton* they go above and beyond without attitude to serve you and our very friendly when you walk in the door to be seated before and after the pandemic happend!! My first time was on mothers day 2018 :) been hooked since definitley reccomend this place
My wife and I had dinner last week. I ordered Fusilli Aglio Olio. I ordered mine with Penne it was served un cooked where the pasta sticks to your teeth, some of the pasta I could not pick up with a fork. Al denta is one thing unable to eat is another. At $17 dollars a plate I ate the chicken and asparagus left the pasta. I told the waiter but I guess it didnt matter to the manager since no one came to our table. I also emailed twice with no reply. It pains me to pay $80 for dinner and walk out hungry and angry. Dont waste your time or hard earned money. Shame on them and shame on us I guess for trying to support a place in these hard times.
Just tried this place last night with my boyfriend for the first time. Great food and service! The portions were huge for the prices and I was able to make another meal out of my leftovers. For appetizers we got the Garlic Italian Wings and the Bistro fries. Both were awesome and we couldve made meals out of them. The bread that everyone gets was also really good and had a nice subtle garlic flavor. I got the Margarita Thin Crust Pizza. It was good, but didnt stand out as the best. Lots of entrees look great on the menu and will be returning to try more!
I eat there often and have never had a bad experience. The prices are good, and the service is excellent. I love their wood fired pizzas and house salad. When my mother visits, she always wants me to take her to Bocaccinis. We usually split a meal because the servings are large. They serve bread with delicious garlic butter. The only thing I would change is the bread. It would be even better if is was hot and crusty.
Id rate a 0 if I could. Pasta dish was overcooked. Fried zucchini was mushy and burnt. Pollo panini was bland with tough chicken in it. Chocolate cake with raspberry sauce didnt come with the raspberry sauce. And when we called to complain the manager had the audacity to say we dont get complaints. And said we could get some money back but that food still cooks in the takeout containers. Really no redeeming qualities here and with a manager that cant be bothered to care no point in going back. Theres much better options for Italian cuisine out there like Otto Tomatoes.
We came here for my birthday after a couples massage nearby. The atmosphere was okay, and the food was very good. We notified our waitress that there was a hair in my food (baked right into the crust of the pizza). They were gracious (aside from telling me that it couldnt possibly happen - though I assume thats the standard response) and made me a new one. What discouraged me was that my boyfriend ate his meal, then I ate mine 15 minutes later, and there was no offer from management to credit us for the inconvenience in any way. Again, the food was good, and if we had been more vocal about our annoyance they may have addressed it further, but thats not what I wanted to do on my birthday.
Went on a Sunday evening, so the place wasnt crowded at all. Warm atmosphere, well decorated, clean. Service was very good, calamari was just right, not chewy and not undercooked. Carbonara was not overly heavy, I forget what the girlfriend ordered but the marinara was nice and simple, but not bland in the least. Even the table bread was very good, had a touch of garlic salt I think. Definitely somewhere around what I feel is a benchmark for good Italian food. Got out of there for around $50 after the tip, for the money, couldnt be happier. Theres tile floors and a steel ceiling, noise carries pretty loudly, I could imagine it getting a bit loud in there when its busy, but thats the only thing resembling a negative that I experienced.
My husband and I head to Boccacinis 4 -6 times per year. We can always count on amazing pasta dishes with great service! Our favorites are the Penne Fagioli and Frutti Di Mare. My husband orders a variation on this classic Italian Seafood dish almost everywhere we have tried and says Boccacinis is the best! The portion sizes are generous and they do not scimp on any of the ingredients. The Fagioli is straight up garlicy goodness; I cant get enough. The wines are reasonably priced. We ordered from them recently for our Office Christmas luncheon. Due to Covid, we had to pick it up and bring it back to the office, but they did not disappoint. The food and service was outstanding!
Have been here several times with good experience until last night. I dont mind paying for good food and dining but this place is extreme!! I asked for plain lettuce with dressing for a salad. I was brought a quarter chunk of lettuce (uncut) and charged $11. My wife ordered a side house salad that was a reasonable $4. The waitress was in a big hurry and very unpersonable. Prices are absolutely outrageous and will not be going there again.
I think its safe to say. Best fish fry in Rochester. Fish is light and fluffy, not soaked in oil. The fries are perfectly seasoned with not just salt, but almost like a garlic seasoned fries with a little zip to them. The fresh, home made coleslaw speaks for itself. All three of these make it the best fish fry.
Its Monday night..I was so excited to find a restaurant near me that sold homemade vegetable lasagna. I read the reviews that were all around positive and decided to give them a try..To my disappointment they missed the mark completely..$15 for a slice of last weeks lasagna that was frozen than warmed up in the microwave and sent to me with a hot dog roll sliced horizontally with butter. Inedible..I drove 22 minutes for this and spent hard earned money for something that shouldnt have never have that that kitchen..Please if you are trying to treat yourself and dont have money to throw away steer clear of this place..Thank me later.
We ate here on a family mini-cation to the Rochester area. The food and service were amazing! Our waitress, Penny, and the kitchen staff went above and beyond with a few special requests and ensured that we all had a great meal. We would love to visit again in the future and I would recommend this fine restaurant to anyone.
I had a birthday party for my wife at Bocaccini’s last night with 35 guests. The entire staff was super accommodating, food was great as always, and the value couldn’t be beat. We have been eating here for years and have never been disappointed. We almost never have to wait for a table. We unusually bring home enough left overs for lunch the next day. There are so many great places to eat in Greater Rochester it’d be easy to miss this place but that’d be your loss. I don’t often write reviews but I truly felt compelled to let others know that they treated us like royalty last night for a great price. Thanks guys!
Ordered Papa Joes Special pasta entrée with sausage and an order of Shrimp Scampi. The Papa Joes special had no more than a cup of pasta which is entirely too little for an entrée. The sausage was wet and boiled and was not grilled in any way. It was actually still wet on the plate when it arrived. The traditional sauce is not a smooth sauce but more like a chunky marinara. I was expecting a smooth sauce. My fault, I should have asked before ordering. The Shrimp Scampi should have been listed under soups. My plate was filled to the top with liquid and everything was floating in a broth. There was no indication on the menu this would be the case. The shrimp and artichoke hearts were good, but to eat them, I had to rescue them from the liquid for fear of overcooking. I ended up eating them off my bread plate. Sadly, the rest of the dish tasted like pasta water and garlic. I didnt eat the spaghettini or spinach because it was mushy from sitting in all that liquid. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. The entire meal was unacceptable and seemingly prepared with very little care.
The beans and greens are to die for And The food is really quite good. On note however: DO NOT EAT THE SEA FOOD HERE! The shrimp I had tasted like they were a week old. After I switched to a different entre, the food was excellent! Overall the place is really nice, however it is rather loud and the setup is kind of odd. It feels like it should be a nice upscale restaurant but the open kitchen makes it feel somewhat fast-foody.
The staff was utterly amazing during this COVID-19 summer. The Brussels Sprouts appetizer was delicious, however the Polenta Crusted Squid with Olive and Feta was unfortunately too thickly crusty that we could not taste it. The rest of the dinner was good, as well as dessert.
DONT ORDER THE BOLOGNESE LASAGNA!!! Way too much ricotta drowned out the meat and made it a gooey, lukewarm mess. Three other people at my table ordered other items, two were not good and other was ok.Ive had way better frozen lasagna than this, wont be back very soon.
This was the experience that my wife had earlier this evening. We went here for dinner in a large group of 14. There were two other table seated in the restaurant. Service was horrible. We waited 25 min for our drinks. We then waited 60 plus min for the appetizers. After that it was another 30 plus min before our dinners. I then had to wait another 25 min plus for the take out for my husband. On top of that they forgot to make the salad I ordered for him. Now the server has no control over the meals or apps prep time but we had no water or drink refills on any regular basis we were always dry.I went and spoke to the manager and explained or experience and the indifference was terrible. I had told him it was my first time here and may not return and he just said ok. This is not how you do business. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone ever. I will be writing to the owners if possible.I would like to update this review. For my wifes birthday we went back to Bocaccinis. We had an excellent experience. The wait staff was attentive and the food was delicious. Also the portions were very large and well priced. I would recommend this restaurant and I plan to return.
We absolutely love Bocaccinis!! Weve NEVER had a bad meal there, whether dine-in, take out, or delivery. Before COVID, it was one of our go-to Friday night date night places. Now its mostly our go-to take out place. The fries...oh the fries!!! I dont put anything on them--no ketchup, mayo, vinegar, salt--because they dont need anything else but for me to enjoy the delicious flavor as they are. Fish fry, NE clam chowder, Manhattan clam chowder, pastas, pizza, burger...Im drooling. My hubby often orders wings for lunch (all of them are AMAZING!) since he works from home. And he saves me a couple for when I come home from work--makes my day!! I miss their wait staff so, so much, and once this pandemic is over, I look forward to seeing them again. Thank you...thank you Bocaccinis for your wonderful food and dedication to our Fairport/Perinton community. Much love. XOXO
Dont hold your breath waiting a expecting good Italian Food. It is flat. I have had dinner twice here once on 4//27/14 and again on 5/8/14 and both times the food is FLAT. It lacks flavor completely. I have had the Shrimp Scampi and the Tenderloin Salad and both were boring....the service is flat too. I felt like it was more like a diner than an Italian Bistro. The Rosemary Chicken Wings and Bread and Butter were better than my dinner.
This place was great. Just came from a big dinner with 17 of my friends. Our orders came at a reasonable amount of time considering the number of us while keeping the rest of the clientele happy with their wait time. There were no complaints from our group and we all ordered different meals. I will be returning
Bocaccinis was fantastic as always. Italian restaurants are a crowded field in Rochester. However, Bocaccinis always stands out. We had their delectable bistro fries. My wife enjoyed the massive prime rib special. The meat was as flavorful as it was large in portion. I had their chicken parm which is a personal favorite. You always get two meals worth of food at low prices. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Worth the drive to Perinton every time.
Dont get the prime rib unless you bring a chainsaw. Prime rib needs to be slow roasted for hours which I doubt they do. Im only giving them 3 stars because everything else including service and ambiance were good. If I were to grade them on prime rib only they would have received no stars.
My girlfriend and I have been going here for 12years. The last two times we have been there the delmomico steak wasn’t very good almost inedible. I love the smothered delmonico it’s my favorite I don’t what’s going on but the last two were bad. Not sure we are going back. It’s disappointing because we love it there.
Moved to fairport a year ago and have been talking about checking this place out ever since, finally did last night for wifes birthday and shouldnt have waited so long! .... friendly, clean, great service and delicous food. Never thought id say this but the brussel sprouts app should win some type of award! Could not have had a better experience, will be back soon.
The food has been amazing twice from grubhub and actually dining there personally but the service sucked. 😱😱 i mean who sits down and notices theres no napkins And utensils thats what i experienced on service wise on mothers day 2018😢 but ill definitley still get food from there cause it was that good enough to get 4 stars
My grandparents know the owner of this place and have been taking me here for years and oh my god I absolutely love it every time. My grandfather loved this place before he passed away and my grandmother and I still try to go every once in a while. I cannot recommend this place more. Its sooooooo good.
I guess you pride yourself on poor customer service. Take out was gotten at your place Sunday night and after arriving home it was found you forgot to put in part of the order. I would have thought you would have offered it free of charge for the inconvenience as it was a sizable order.....being told Sorry bout that. didnt really cut it. So many know now, how you deal with customers and how really bad your customer service is......

2021-11-26Not very inviting atmosphere. Dark and cold and feels kind of dirty. Food was okay, spinach and artichoke dip was not very flavorful and did not have enough artichoke. Pizza was okay but nothing special. Chicken parm was okay, lasagna sauce was delicious. First time here, would likely not come again. Overall mediocre with nothing very special to offer. Bathroom was gross and interior is in need of some serious renovations.

2022-06-04The service was great. Some friends and I went to dinner and the food was delicious. This have the best chicken Marsala. The chicken was fork tender and not dry at all. One gal had a chicken salad and they certainly were not stingy with the chicken. This is turning into a favorite place.

2022-06-17Everything on the menu is awesome. The hardest part is figuring out what I want to order, only because everything is delicious! We’ve been coming here for almost 20 years. Penny and Kelli are amazing, and always stop by our table to greet us.

2022-02-06OMG. This place was so good!!! My boyfriend and I have been trying to eat at new places- and we already want to come back here! We got the Sicilian calamari and Brussel sprouts as apps and I think they were the star of the show! Megan was our waitress and she gave us EXCELLENT service. If you’re looking for great Italian food with speedy, friendly service then this is the place!

2022-02-04Ordered for pick-up. The only good thing was that food was ready quickly. The Boca balls were flavorless mush in super sweet sauce. The chicken wings were crispy but bland. The spinach and artichoke dip was the worst I ever had, just so bland and runny -- even the toast points given for dipping had no taste except for the burnt parts. The sauce on the entrees was sickeningly sweet. Ended up throwing most of it away. I dont know if this was just an off night but I dont think Ill risk a second try to find out

2022-03-25This was my first time going to this restaurant. It was okay but I felt it was very pricey. The portions are very big. I ordered penne gorgonzola and it could serve 4 people. I brought majority of my dish home. Atmosphere was okay but was disappointed when they placed a very large party with small children next to our booth.

2020-10-25Cute Italian restaurant in Fairport. My husband ordered the Calamari app and the Brussel Sprout app. I had the Rib Eye dinner and a Raspberry Margarita. First of all, the Brussel Sprouts were a last minute add on that ended up being the highlight of our meal. If I ever return here (were from out of town) I would absolutely order that again. It was one of the best apps Ive ever had! My recommendation is that you ABSOLUTELY order this item, regardless of what other items you order. So good!!The calamari was a little disappointing. It was flavorless without the marinara sauce. You get a really large portion for what you pay, but it needs a little flavor in the breading. The Rib Eye was fantastically flavorful and very tender. It was huge! I only finished about half. The pasta it came with was delicious, and tasted freshly made. The raspberry Margarita was delicious!!!

2022-02-05Ordered an $18 pizza for delivery with UberEats. The Gorgonzola. Has pear on it etc. it was pretty tasty but came completely cold. Had to reheat it which made it soggy. For $18 it was also tiny. I get prices have gone up but that’s probably a $12 pizza. Likely won’t be getting anything from here - prices aren’t worth it if you look at their menu.
