Its Okay. Staff is friendly. Owner is always present and it would be nice for owner to say hello to population. Food is good on some days, all depends on who is cooking. I used to like it much better when it was gun hill tavern. Many times they dont have said beers on tap. Out of 20 beers they will have 15. (This happened to me three times.) I come here because it is not very crowded and good parking. Music selection sucks. For my taste, and then it is way too loud to talk. This is not a club. Please lower the music.

The bartenders didnt seem too friendly, just automatic. and one I ordered from gave me the wrong drink i ordered, i suppose she didnt hear me correctly. Also they didnt come around and give us refills, took some effort to flag them down, they dont make eye contact or come back and ask how we are doing, even though we went early and the place was pretty empty. So wont be coming back. Its why we sit at the bar, to get more immediate service and some friendly conversation.
Closes way too early. they often close even earlier than advertised. 1230am on a Saturday night I was there today gates were down and cleaning up. limited wine and cocktail menu. if you only like to try random local beers on some days after work this is a great place. there are often private events and the place is closed at 3pm no warning. its sad the place has great ambiance and music. mostly a mix of classic rock and other genres.
I absolutely love this place! The drinks were superb (infused pure grain alcohol that tastes like coquito without the cream! You cant beat that!!.) and the food was almost perfect. We ordered the do-it-yourself steak tacos. The steak, for all three of us, was so tough that none of us could chew it. We sent it back and they suggested the chicken which was phenomenal. It must cost $0.50 to put that beef on the menu. Charge me 75¢ and give me meet that I can chew!! Otherwise the owners fabulous, ambiance fabulous, cocktails fabulous. Four stars because of the steak
Clean, fun, with the best waitresses! Love the games they have available and a great happy hour menu with great food. Always enjoy my time here whenever I go. Premiere spot in the Bronx!
The decor is nice. The crowd is quiet. Everyone stays in their groups. The dont serve any brand name alcohol so be prepared to find a combination of local ingredients that you are willing to try. The food is over-priced and under-seasoned. Its in the middle of nowhere. I only go there because a social group I belong to meets there.
I went here for brunch with a bunch of friends and we had such a great time. The drinks and food were great. The server was very nice and personable. The place is clean and spacious. This is definitely going to be my go to brunch spot.
Nice environment, small choice of food, I order something with chicken and it came so spicy; in the menu doesnt state that its spicy. The other thing I found wrong was that they do NOT have diaper changing tables in none of the bathrooms. If you are willing to have families come into the establishment, you should think about the little ones, because as parents thats our priority. I wont be coming back here because we are always with our children.
In town from Dallas for the Above & Beyond concert on NYE looking for a place to grab some drinks before. Searched google maps and it looked very worth checking out. The walk from dinner at Pio Pio did not have me expecting we would be going to such a nice, cute and cozy place. Fun friendly staff. I think we spent close to 4 hours there. Loved it.
The food was GREAT the drinks were the absolute bomb and the bartender was SUPER nice. Give it a shot if youre in the area its worth the location being kind of out of the way. Admittedly the area looks a LITTLE shady. But its a great bar.
Great beer selection, some good food too!I’ve gone to Bronx Tavern a few times when the place was nearly empty on the weekend. In fact, I’ve never seen more than one group other than myself in the place (I imagine it’s busier during the week and during the daytime specifically).The food has been hit or miss. Garlic bread Mac and cheese had he worst possible velveeta-style macaroni and cheese, but the kale salad was good and the wings were great! When I went most recently, I had the mango bbq wings and sweet potato fries. I must say the sweet potato fries were also amazing.They’ve been out of a bunch of beers I requested on one occasion (beers that were on their list), but usually they have a great selection. I will be back again and again to try more food and beers. The staff has been pleasant every time!
I posted this review on Yelp, but Im still salty from my latest visit. Ive come here a couple times and I can say sancocho is their best dish. Chili Bowl is CRAZY salty. I had to drink a pint of water to cope. The coffee is decent. The waitress behind the bar is unfriendly and this spot is perpetually empty and so I thought it was a good spot for meeting candidates. I ordered 2 coffees and lunch and I was still asked not to conduct interviews in their establishment. So, way to put off repeat customers! I wont be returning and neither will my colleagues so Im not sure how they stay in business, but good luck to them.
It’s a cute joint for the Bronx. 2 stars for the wings and salad. However, maybe it’s just me, but I’m not a fan of limited options. Cocktail options taste like jarabes made by my mom.
Great tasting food, many artisanal local microbrews on tap. The lunch specials are a great deal. The staff is very friendly and always offers good conversation.
The bartender needs to work on her hospitality skills. Didnt even greet us or check up on us and had a stink face throughout. Mind you, been there twice now and same thing. She totally brings down the mood of the wholePlace. Will return when she is not there.
Went here for my birthday with my co-workers. In the midst of an industrial warehouse area, this place is a gem. Amazing food, great service, (not to mention the beautiful bartender we had ☺) They have their own distillery and make an amazing spirit called Pitorro You havent lived until you try it. Great for company happy hours and small group gatherings. Keep yourselves entertained with darts, beer pong, tvs with all sports, and of course two great classics: UNO & Jenga. Cant wait to stop back in!
Great Tavern Burger with sweet potatoe fries. Drinks were outstanding we had a their Tavern cocktails. Service was great our waiter... bartender William was making a drink for someone at bar and I asked what was he making? He was making a creamsicle but his own version/recipe it was so, so so good. They also have around the corner a distillery. They make their own vodka, moon shine! I said to William owners need to add his drink to their menu Yummy! I recommend this place.

I was there last night for the first time. The staff was really nice and made a good drink. Had the Cuban sandwich with sweet plantains and it was very tasty. I would definitely go back.
The Bronx Tavern is a great place to meet with family or friends, great beer and drink selection. The food is amazing and there was something on the menu for everyone. (My Wife is a Vegan 🙄) Lots of Big TV’s to watch the games too.
Nice bar to visit for a few drinks and a bite to eat with pals or colleagues. The food is good and the prices are fair. Service can take some time on busy nights, but overall a good experience.
Place is good. Its a shame Gun Hill no longer is here. Beer selection was better when they had the place. On the other hand, the food is now a lot better. More variety.
A nice little find in the South Bronx. Plenty of beers on tap and decent bar food. Not a place for wine or mixed drinks. A good place for an after work beer or two.
This place is a sneaky lunch jam. The bar tender is a sweetheart and a the arroz con pollo is a great lunch special at 9 bucks with a can of beer for ten. If you are in the area (silvercup north) check it out!

2018-10-10Good spot with a great beer selection.The bartenders were friendly but could be a little more attentive. Maybe it was an off night. Tip well. Nice crowd but not crowded for a Saturday night, even after the Bronx Brewery (not far) closes. The Mac n cheese burger is insane!

2018-09-10I visited here on a Saturday afternoon with my wife. The place was not packed and there were plenty of seats and tables available. there are a lot of beers on tap to choose from. The menu is simple with a good variety. We ordered the chicken and waffles as an appetizer, the mac and cheese burger, and peach cider beer. The food was cooked wonderfully, the presentation was exceptional, and tasted as good as it looked. Service was a bit slow but nothing that took away from the great experience. It started to get busy while we were there so the noise did increase but its just what you would expect at a tavern. My wife and I will definitely be coming back very soon.

2019-01-25The location was great with plenty of parking. Our server was awesome and gave great recommendations on what to order. 20 types of beer to choose from was a plus. My wife had the Sangria and it was great!! I had the Mac n Cheese burger. I would say that they should carmelize the onions on thos burger as well. My wife had the qings and she said they were slamming. Only negative, the seats arent for sitting for a long period of time. Can get pretty uncomfortable. Change your stools 😋

2019-08-07Came across this gem after a day at the beach and we were pleasantly surprised. The draft selection changes so if you are a beer lover give it a try. The menu items were delicious and there was something for everyone in our group. Attentive and helpful staff. Its nice to have these spots in The Bronx.

2019-02-24Just a wonderful place to be when you want to watch a game or just relax with a group of friends and not have to worry about the place being too loud. Perfect atmosphere for a night out for drinks or just to have food while on a lunch break. Drinks are deliciously made and the staff are always pleasant to meet your needs.
