Brothers Trattoria in other cities:
A SOLID NEIGHBORHOOD EATERY,Brother’s Trattoria pleased a small party on a rainy Monday. Welcoming servers delivered, a bit too quickly, Italian staples and wine. Portions were generous, the ambience work-a-day, and the play list too reliant on Frank Sinatra recordings that weren’t the Chairman of the Board’s most accomplished.
We had an unexpected change of plans which turned out to be the best thing! We were turned down for dinner rudely across the street @ 6:30pm (empty) and was told initially we did not need a reservation! Brother’s Trattoria took us in with a warm welcome! The food & wine was delicious! The ambience was quaint and cozy. I believe one of the owner checked in on our experience and was kind enough to recommend a B&B for our stay!
Went to Beacon for a day trip with my wife and kid. Originally made plans to go the Vault across the street, but when we arrived at 7:00PM they told us that they were closed, eventhough we had called to ask if we needed a reservation and they said just to walk in. Anyway, we were glad they turned us down, because we crossed the street to Brothers trattoria and had a wonderful meal. The wine list has something for everyone and at reasonable prices. I dont normally drink Merlot, but had to try the Stags leap 2018. It turned out to be a great complement to a great meal. We started with the fried calamari and the shrimp and peppers appetizer. Both crisp, cooked just right and with good flavors. For the entree my wife had a shrimp and pasta and I had the surf and turf special. Everything was cooked to order and tasted fresh. We ended our meal with a cheesecake brulee, which we had not tried before: it was rich and balanced. Afterwards the owner was kind enough to help us find a bed and breakfast to spend the night. Overall the service, food and ambiance were excellent. We will definitely be back.
When traveling alone I like to sit at the bar. There bar is very tall and uncomfortable to sit at. Plus the bartender was also assigned several tables, and busy elsewhere. She did keep checking on me however. The food was excellent. And the atmosphere in the place was also quite nice.
Normally am not a review kind of guy but I must give credit where credit is due. So dinning out has been a new kind of experience for us all since COVD and for most part not a good one I get it I am self employed myself and with rising cost and staffing issues its kind of expected But let me tellyou this place has restored my faith. The waitress was the best I had in almost 2 years friendly talkative attentiveand I really cant say that about anyplace I have been to in the past almost2 years Bar none best wait staff . Food was hot and came out very quick. The night before I went to a rest. where my food came out after everyone else at the table already finished and it was cold none the less So if you want to go out to eat where it feels like it used to be when youwent out to eat and the wait staff actually cares about you and does not treat you like your bothering them brothers trattoria is the place to be
I have gone to brother’s since I was a baby in a basket. They staff there is super friendly and kind. My favourite server of all time is patty!!!! The food is amazing!!!! It’s my comfort restaurant. I know that when I go there I will have amazing food!!! The staff always greets me and my family so kindly. They always ask how my family is doing. They are amazing people. Ken has seen me grow up and is amazing!!! I will always go back there when I need good Italian food. They never fail to make me feel like a part of the family. I love Brother’s Trattoria it’s the best Italian food in Beacon!!!!!
Food not as good as it used to be. Had to change my rating to 1 star. This was my favorite restaurant until recently. I even ordered here when The state was shutting every place down because I have a good job and wanted to support them. Unfortunately they recently got my order wrong and instead of just making this old time customer who spent thousands of dollars here a new one they just said I was wrong. Wish I could run a business this why and still stay open.Good luck - you just lost another long time customer.
Excellent, comforting, hearty Italian food. I am so glad we came here after a long day of travel. There was only a short wait when we arrived on a Friday evening. The pasta fagiole soup was one of the best Ive had. My partner got the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was too much food--definitely share for two. The carbonara and lobster ravioli were also excellent, with very generous portions. We had no room for dessert. The prices were, I think, reasonable for what you get (and far better than what we get in New York City.) We look forward to coming back. One suggestion is the in-street dining looked uncomfortable and ad-hoc, but we were sitting inside.
Kinda disappointing. Went for lunch on Saturday. Left a sitting a little long w no water or menus. Appetizer was ok, underseasoned. A good Italian restaurant should have 2 important things, good bread & sauce. The bread was like supermarket french bread ☹️ Mt husband had a GF pizza, very good! But my spaghetti w red clam sauce was not. Hardly any clams, no clam flavor, just garlic & thin tomato based sauce. Maybe Will give it another shot based on reputation & try something else.
From the moment we sat, we knew we’d be back. The staff was nothing short of amazing. The decor is simple and cozy. I would definitely come here on a date as well as casual night out with friends. While we just stopped in for a glass of wine, we decided to have salad and mozzarella sticks which were delicious, and the plates that were going to nearby tables had us salivating. Can’t wait to stop back in for a proper meal.
Consistently good! This restaurant has good service, interesting and well prepared meals, and respectable prices. There is a section for informal dining, such as pizza, and a more formal dining section. A recently opened back patio adds more outdoor space. Reservations needed; this is a popular place and deservedly so.
I was hoping to get some good Italian food. But instead we didn’t have a good experience. I can’t help to say we were the only minority in the restaurant they acknowledge everyone table by table and we were the last ones to be acknowledged. We saw how they treated the other customers. We were very uncomfortable. And the food wasn’t that great. No one really listened to us so we just got the food payed and left never coming back.
Love love love!! Been here several times... always order something different.. food gets better and better every time! Tonight I ordered the chicken scampi with angel hair pasta tossed in a garlic and butter sauce! OMG! Delicious! The calamari was the best... my son loved his chicken parm.. my hunny ordered a veggie pizza.. said it was awesome.. sister ordered the salmon.. we all tried it..so tender and grilled to perfection! Must try this place if you ever go to beacon
Normally the food is delicious I usually order the chicken parmigiana dinner and it’s always good this time I decided to order lasagna and I couldn’t even eat it the small amount I did eat has made me sick I’ve been feeling nauseous ever since ..my kids even tired it and spit it out said it was nasty .. I called the restaurant and was only told maybe it was something else because we made it fresh and sold a ton and nobody else has complained … safe to say I won’t be ordering from there again meat taste fake
Was there a few weeks ago. The food was not as good as it was before the last time I was there. I ordered Chicken Siciliano and the chicken was tough. The rigatoni sauce wasnt that great either. The service is excellent however. As far as ambiance, it is a nice little pizzeria in the front with a charming little restaurant in the back. Im not to keen on the pizza. I cant put my finger on it. Its not NYC style maybe thats why. I find it a little doughy and dont like the sauce.
Wonderful place to celebrate any happy occasion. Beautiful decor, convenient parking lot, delicious food, great Italian music playing softly. We were a large group (14) and our incredible server Geri was an absolute pro. Friendly and well organized, attentive and accommodating, very patient. Plus she took a great photo of the whole group at once, even though it was a tricky angle! 🤗 PS: Definitely call ahead if you have a larger group so they can have a table ready 😉
I was there last night. My wife and I came up from Rockland county to meet my niece. My fettuccine with shrimp and scallops was delicious. The service was great. Its a family business and they walk around to make sure that everything is great. The atmosphere in the back room with the fireplace and Italian music playing really sets a nice feeling. My wife and niece said the chicken parmigiana was exceptional.
EXCELLENT food. The meal and wine were clearly authentic Italian. We also loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the friendly feel as well. The owner even came up to our table and spoke to us for a while, while he was making the rounds. We loved this place and would highly recommend.
We are longtime patrons, but dont live close enough to eat there very often. The ambiance is cozy, quiet, and elegant in the dining room. The quality of the food is excellent, and the portions are generous. The specials are creative and a nice addition to standard Italian menu offerings, of which this restaurant already offers a better-than-usual menu of choices. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. Recently, we ate there with friends, and one person said his Hanger Steak was tough, but the accompanying sauce was delicious. We could not persuade him to tell our server because he does not like to complain or send anything back to the kitchen. I am sure that if he had, the server or the manager would have replaced the steak or offered him another menu choice. Our desserts were delicious, as always. We eat there as often as we can get to Beacon.
Just not impressed this time, my third or fourth go, I recalled last time how delicious the shrimp Franchisee was so thought I’d try again, it tasted like someone dropped an opened salt shaker into the pan, the sauce was super sweet not a great combo. Calamari and salad were good. The other damper of the night was the noise.. I don’t mind a little and expect to hear other diners but there was a large party at a table in the back and they were so obnoxious yelling and carrying on with foul language.I felt like I was in a school cafeteria. Hey I’m easy and love to see others have fun but this was horrible at first we tried to laugh it off but by then end of the meal we were rolling our eyes. The server was wonderful very friendly and informative regarding specials and management pretty friendly as well but I feel they could have done more in asking the loud mouth to keep it down so the rest of us could enjoy our meal
Great service and overall a nice experience. All the dishes were good with the exception of the lasagna which was unfortunately perhaps the worst lasagna Ive ever tasted. It was literally worse than the cheap frozen ones you get from the grocery store. Zero meat and really nothing more than pasta sheets and some chewy cheese. It was a surprise as everything else was pretty good! So in conclusion, good restaurant but avoid the lasagna like the plague.
We have eaten here several times and the food was good. Portions are big and servers were friendly and attentive. However I was very disappointed the last time we ate there. We made reservations for 7 seniors. The weather outside was in the 20s. We requested to sit in the back of the restaurant and not the front because of the very cold air when the door opened. We were told the back room was reserved for dinner. It was 200pm in afternoon and each couple had drinks and spent at least $50.00 a couple. I will never recommend again Brothers Trattoria as a meeting place for friends. Well take our business elsewhere.. I felt the management was very insensitive to customers...
Food was tasteful but shrimp was overcooked. Environment is nice, service is good. We ate 2 specials not on the menu. Looking at the menu shows good typical Italian selection. Tiramisu was not as tasteful as I expected. They had great espresso. Overall good dinner, just not 5 stars.
Little Italian restaurant. The service is good and the portions are generous. Not the greatest of atmospheres (its lacking something). The menu could use a revamp, and maybe some healthier options. While I asked for my pasta without oil (and got what I wanted), the rest of my table all said that their pastas were extra oily, but that overall the food was good.
The building is nice inside and thats the only good thing I have to say. My chicken was dry the masala sauce was very thin and bale, it tasted like broth but they did give us a lot of sauce and a lot of restaurants do not. We were not offered drinks and when we asked the waitress didnt come back with the drinks for 10 minutes and never offered refills. We make better food at home every night.
I have the honor and pleasure of being one of the Readers at Notions-N-Potions. I was talking to Sheryl, the owner, and we started talking about pizza, then mentioned Brothers Trattoria. Now, every time I see the word Trattoria, I know the dining experience is going to be amazing. And it was. The staff, made my first time, and my friends second time to this restaurant truly wonderful. The Caprese was fresh, the stuffed shells were foodgasmic, the Fox Brook Merlot was delicious and the cappuccino was DIVINE! I look forward to returning for more great food, excellent service and reasonable prices (as well as more cappuccino, of course), as soon as I can.
Old style neighborhood pizzera that grew up. They expanded to the space next door and did a nice job with decor and ambiance. The entrance is good for a quick bite and the new dining room is great for a family dinner. It was great pizza 20 years ago and now its a better Italian restaurant. Highly recommended.
Last night Me and My Family went there and had a nice dinner. The hospitality was very friendly, We were greeted and seated. The service was very polite. I enjoyed the Family Vibe. The Food was delicious and the portions was perfect. The prices are reasonable. Me and My Family are talking about Our next experience and having different dishes. We will be back. Thank You.
This place is so cute, very much a down home restaurant where the owner knows everyone. our server Patty was great and attentive. every person made you feel welcome and taken care of. we got fresh garlic knots for free and side salads to start.my friend got the mushroom and spinach ravioli and I got the chicken parmigiana. the servings were HUGE my leftovers were an entire meal on their own and it’s so affordable. when I come back to Beacon this is the go to italian spot!
Had dinner here after a day at the wineries and it was so good. We had the eggplant appetizer that was on special that night and it was so good. The eggplant was cooked to perfection. For the main, I have the rigatoni carbonara and it was so good. I loved how they were generous with the carbonara sauce and I was able to dunk my bread in it. I tired my dates lasagna and it was great as well. They give super generous portions and was able to bring it home for lunch the next day.
We always ate at Brothers when we were in Beacon. Years ago Beacon was not the upscale hip city it is now but Brothers was always good. Their staff is friendly and attentive and the food is high quality and fresh. We hadnt been there in years because we moved away but ate there recently and found they have only gotten better.
My sister and I went in for lunch with our two year olds last week. There were very few people seated at the other tables and nobody else seated around us. The man who I would assume is the owner or manager asked that one of us fold up our strollers and place it in our cars so others wouldn’t have trouble sitting around us (nobody was even in town because it was freezing- at most there were 4 tables seated and we were one of them) Mind you I’m 8 months pregnant and struggled getting my stroller up the step to even get in the door. Before we left, I stopped to use the restroom while my sister sat and watched the kids at the table. When I came out she told me that someone working there came over to the table and purposely said in front of her that they would need to take the vacuum out and clean up because our children made a mess. So rude! It’s a restaurant that serves pizza and soup. We can’t bring our kids there? Or strollers? They have three rooms in the restaurant, no reason to be rude and worry about not having room for the lack of customers. We won’t be going back there. They got a star because the waitress, Patty, was nice and because the pizza was good.
Had the gluten-free pizza. The crust is typical and the cheese and sauce are good. One of the owners greets all customers when they enter. I even think Gordon Ramsay might give this place a pass for service and food though a little redecorating wouldnt hurt. Bonus, theres a gluten free bakery a block away uphill on the corner.
Everything was perfect!! Some of the best bruschetta Ive ever tasted. The dressing on the salad was so perfect, I was tempted to ask the recipe. Lobster ravioli in vodka sauce was amazing and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his pork chops with caramelized apples and roasted potatoes. All staff were nice and attentive, and overall, this place was a pleasant surprise.
First of all I want to say Thank you to indoor dinning the staff and ownership was great from the moment we walked in we were greetted with hello very accommodating. Our waitress was A+++++ AMAZING AND FRIENDLY and very knowledgeable about the menu food was delicious and authentic italian definitely will visit again Thank you for a pleasant experience
The ambience at Brothers is very nice and the service is excellent. Small parties there are well accommodated. The entrees are excellent - very tasty with nice sized portions. Specials are delicious too. Pizza is good. For the cost of dinner, the salads are terrible and need to be upgraded. The take out service is fast and convenient.
YUM! - This is a great Italian restaurant. Not that Im a super picky person when it comes to Italian food but when eating here you can certainly tell the quality of what youre eating is much higher than most in area. Serving sizes are very fair given the prices and the lasagna is fantastic. This us usually the go-to for family restaurant dinners.
Usually get scallops as an appetizer but was denied the purchase because Brothers was saving them for an entre not appetizer. Not pleased with their lack of concern for a paying seated customer in lieu of a possible dinner request later in a sparsely populated restaurant. Like the place but they let me down tonight.
The food is good but their delivery service is awful (the actual delivery men are great but its the person taking the orders). Whoever takes the orders over the phone is either distracted, witless, or simply not paying attention. I have a house with several people with food allergies and no matter how clearly I articulate that cheese needs to be left off salads, burgers, and such, its 50/50 whether they pay attention. Its intensely frustrating (just looked at a salad I ordered from them a couple of days ago, request no cheese --repeatedly-- and its covered with Feta, INEDIBLE). Its sad because their food is really good, but its just not worth the trouble of ordering unless were really desperate.
Food was basic Italian chain fare, we expected better. Alfredo was oily and unimpressive. Tilapia tasted fishy and seemed undercooked. Also there was a town council meeting being held in the dining room and it was so loud and obnoxious that we couldnt hear ourselves talk. Wait staff was very nice and courteous but we did not have a good experience.
I grew up in Beacon and moved away 20 years ago. Pizza from Brothers is the gold standard by which I measure all others. I have yet to find better. When I come home for a visit, Brothers is a required stop. The atmosphere is friendly and food is delicious. You will not be disappointed.
Place has changed for the worse. Menu is more expensive now and they charge per refill without telling you. When I asked the waitress about this, she responded, “We aren’t like a diner you know” well duh I understand that but at least tell me before you charge me for each refill. Also, they used to have a good broccoli rabe with fresh garlic now they just offer plain steamed broccoli. I have been eating here for over a decade but this was my last time.
First time eating here, and first impressions were that it was very crampt. When asked to sit in the back room we were told that we cant have pizza, and that was fine since that was not the reason for being there. We were not dressed up and we felt because of that we were not treated the same. Customers that came in after us received their salad before us. When they ate all their bread they were brought more while we never even got the opption. When my food came our it was warm at best. The only thing that saved this place from getting only one star from me as that despite the food being only warm it was very good and the portions were generous. Pricing seemed to be around the same as olive garden but the food was much better.
Very good service and good Italian cuisine. The one star left out has become the appearance of the restaurant from the outside. The awning is old and dirty looking. Just as a returning customer I would recommend changing the outside appearance as it is not as inviting as it should be for a very good restaurant.
Although they are a bit expensive I have to admit I have continued to eat at Brothers for the past seven years. Their food is always good and I have yet to have a single bad experience. I LOVE their salad pizza, penne ala vodka and honestly anything else Ive tried Id eat again happily. Thank you for the delicious food!!!
One of the better Italian restaurants in the area and if you get any of the regular pasta options, the portions are plentiful. That being said, I got the lobster ravioli last time and was served about 6 raviolis. First time I switched it up outside of the penne and left hungry at the end.
Service was attentive. Bread rolls were fluffy Pilsbury style. Antipasti was good, including excellent grilled eggplant, except for the prosciutto, which was like a dried out ham. Salad was overdressed to the point of having a soupy consistency, and in a dressing that may or may not have been wishbone brand to judge by the homogenized base and nondescript black flakes that must have been meant to evoke herbs. Mains were rather salty and buttery.Seems the eponymous brothers phoned it in today.
I decided to try after reading about this in Hudson valley mag. Its in a really nice location. We sat at the table for two in the window so we got to look around as we ate. We started with some garlic knots, which were absolutely delicious (my boyfriend thinks they are the best hes ever had). We had a shrimp gorgonzola appetizer, which I did not like. Im very particular with cheese, but the shrimp were huge, so that was good. I had a chicken dinner that was called Dardans (I think). It was chicken and shrimp sauteed in a white wine sauce with mushrooms and Sun dried tomatoes. Spaghetti pasta on the side. I enjoyed my dinner very much! The service was good as well.
Food was really good here. However service needed a lot of improvement. Wait staff were not very attentive. Dirty plates were left on the table whereby there was no room for the dessert plate. The staff had to be told to remove the dirty plate. Even when told to do so, they finally cleared the plates after dessert was finished. Someone also asked for a beer 3 times before they got it. Again, food was really good but service was not good.
The pizza. Seriously. It helps me stay sane outside NYC. Crisp crust, fresh tomato sauce, fresh veggies, a magical pepperiness to it... It has literally appeared in my dreams. Their veggie-laden vegan Mothers pizza is worth the time of any non-vegans, too. They do traditional Italian-American sit-down meals too, in their rather old-fashioned formal dining rooms, which people seem to really enjoy, but just get a slice and sit by the Roundhouse falls to eat it. Doesnt get much better than that!
We were sat at a table right next to the door so it was very drafty and cold the entire time. My date got the Ravioli Di Spinaci Con Funghi and the sherry cream sauce that the menu advertised tasted like two sticks of melted butter. My dish, the Ravioli Di Aragosta Alla Vodka, was tasty but I could have got a better dish from the frozen section of Trader Joes. Both dishes had few ravioli and were absolutely swimming in sauce. The service was fine, but when the bill came the waitress listed the price of one of the dishes $2 over its listed price. She did fix it after I pointed it out, but I think other customers who were less assertive or paid less attention to the menu prices may have gotten overcharged in my situation.
My friends and I had a late lunch here today on our way to the Dia Beacon. The staff was terrific - friendly and professional. The owner and manager checked on us a couple of times and also gave me a tour of the formal dining room area and bar, which looked warm and inviting. In terms of food, the complimentary bread basket is accompanied by an olive and vegetable spread marinated in olive oil and herbs, which was heavenly. We also ordered the grilled vegetable appetizer (with olive oil and goat cheese) which was delicious and enough for 3 people to share. I had the linguine with red clam sauce and my boyfriend had the calamari fra diavlo with angel hair pasta and our friend had the marina with angel hair. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. Our waitress was familiar with the menu and offered, when asked, spot on recommendations. We passed on dessert, but only because we didnt have time to linger. Highly recommend and only wish we lived closer.
A friend visited from the city and as usual I brought them to Brothers, one of the restaurants I often bring guests. I complained about one of the entrees (because my guest told me it was bad) and for the rest of the meal, every time a waiter or busboy came over to the table to check on us they ignored me, looking her in the face, and they come over so frequently, it became annoying, even to my guest. What they didnt know was I am a resident of Beacon, not someone passing through visiting the antique shops. I will never return to this restaurant. It was insulting and needless, since I certainly never blamed the waitress or shorted her on the tip. I never had a problem before. Of course, I never complained before, either!
Hikers beware! The Brothers are less than friendly to our kind. Upon arriving at the restaurant an older gentleman greeted (loosely stated) us while looking at us with apparent disapproval of our hiking attire. We asked to be seated to which he replied he would have to check the half empty restaurant. He returned, again looking at us with disapproval, and offered to seat us at the bar. Realizing we were not welcome by the Brother we chose to seek out friendlier confines in the abundant places to eat in Beacon. We will never visit the Brothers Trattoria again, hiking attire or not!
Ive been eating here for years and the staff and food are always amazing ,they feel like family when I go here. They go above and beyond to accommodate my son who has autism and will seat me in a quiet area so he can enjoy his pizza. This place is truly amazing and does not disappoint.
As far as Im concerned, without a doubt the best food in Beacon....I dont care what some here today, gone tomorrow publication says....fairly priced, unmatched service, and greeted at the door with a warm welcome from an owner....plus....the best eggplant parm on the planet!!

2021-07-05Best Italian food ever with super professional team that handle the place from the delivery, waitress and the owner. You can dine in, order to go or get a delivery, no matter what we tried the quality of the food was always extra ordinary, the dishes are always big and filling and the prices are so good for all that you get.Dont miss out on eating at Brothers when you visiting Beacon or stop by just for them when you are visiting the hudson valley.

2022-03-22Fantastic. One of the best Italian places Ive been in years. The service was incredible and friendly as soon as we walked in the door. We ordered the calimari, lobster ravioli, and veal Saltimbocca. Each dish was perfect. We had such a nice evening and cant wait to come back.

2022-03-19Without fail, every time we visit Brothers Trattoria in Beacon NY, we have a consistently delicious meal. They are a family run restaurant and always welcoming. Certainly recommend! They have outdoor seating and a small newly renovated bar in the back dining room. Enjoy!

2022-02-22We enjoyed a group dinner here. The grilled chicken pasta dish was very tasty. The service was professional and friendly. Sadly, the host forgot that the price per person was to include tax and tip, leaving the organizer of our dinner holding the bag for the extra charge. Not nice ! None of us will be returning any time soon as they refused to honor their agreement.

2020-11-12We made a 5 person reservation for my mother in laws birthday. My son was running about 20 min late. The staff was so nice about it. They seated us and served us wonderful appetizers until he arrived. The food was amazing, such huge portions! We all took food home. The staff was fantastic, such perfect decor. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate.....Thank you Brothers Trattoria.
