Fun time for the whole family. Even on a rainy day it was the perfect ride to end the trip. My kids loved it!
The bug carousel is one of the best attractions at the Bronx Zoo. Please note that the fee for the carousel is not included with the entrance fee to the Bronx Zoo, you must pay a separate fee. There are many bugs to choose from. Adults can ride on the bugs as well.
Is fun for the young children. It is in the middle of the zoo but closer to the southern boulevard entrance otherwise it is a long walk. Near the main store and only indoor food cafeteria.
All bug figures are designed with great details. Kids always have fun riding two or three times before going home.
The kids love it, you cant go wrong with a simple carousel. Butterfly Garden, Reptile House, and Mouse House are all nearby, as well as the Dancing Crane Cafe.
Kids love it... Adults secretly do too. You can ride all sorts of insects. Even a ball of dung. X-D
I like the dung beetle the best. Its a great way for children of all ages to get over their phobias of insects. Charming.
My daughter loved it. Smiled from ear to ear the whole time. Beautiful setting and a wonderful zoo.

2021-04-10This is a beautiful carousel. They have little bugs to ride on, many of which the kids relish showing off their knowledge of what bug is called what. A huge hit with the kids and people of all ages, it sits in the Bronx Zoo. I believe, due to covid-19, its not in service, but I eagerly await its reopening!

2019-10-02This was a fun ride! We visited the zoo on a Wednesday and there was nearly no line. We chose the grasshopper and the praying mantis; great size for adults. The whole thing makes for memorable pics, but it was a little bumpy and not incredibly comfortable. The ride lasts about five minutes. Check it out!

2019-08-22Using total experience gave us unlimited access to bug carousel. We were the only one to ride and kids loved it. Its fast and offers wide range of insects to ride.

2019-11-05The line was extremely long. When we got on and I was strappong my daughter in a very rude woman took the bug next to us even though I was saving it. She refused to get off even though my daughter started crying. I had to move my daughter to another spot but the belt to strap her in was broken. No one even checked to make sure children were properly strapped in before starting the ride. The ride started and I had to hold my daughter from falling off the whole time. The ride needs to be redone and broken straps replaced.

2019-01-11The Bug Carousel in the Bronx Zoo is a must visit if you have small kids. Its not only fun for the kids, parents get to take a break from the endless walk. Right next to the food court its actually a great activity right before or after lunch. Members get a discount and if youve got a coupon.

2018-10-24My kids loved and so did i ! I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE MEMBERSHIP TOTAL EXPERIENCE BECAUSE IT PAYS ITS SELF IN 2 VISITS IF YOUR A BIG FAMILY OF 5 AND HAVE SMALL CHILDREN!! MY 3 YR OLD LOVES THE PLACE AND HAVE BEEN TO THE ZOO 7 TIMES ALREADY! GREAT PLACE TO TAKE A WALK IN NATURE YET CLOSE TO THE CITY SO ITS EASY TO GET TO. IF YOU GO AND YOU SEE THE LINE LONG DONT BE SCARED TO WAIT IT MOVES FAST
