A nice little oasis out in the country that is worth popping into if youre not in a huge rush. Theres a little something for everybody and a great section for some older tools. Get the real deal for the industrial look in your home. Lots of little handmade crafts to use as a gift for the cousin you rarely see that happens to pop in for the holidays unexpectedly.
They do not appreciate customers! A woman who has worked for my family (and we consider a dear friend) for many years was a loyal Carriage Place customer for over 10 years. Several months ago one of the Carriage Place employees made a mistake ringing up our friends cash sale. What ever happened on their end we do not know ,but instead of looking into their employee the owner falsely accused our family employee of not paying for a sale. The Carriage Place owner approached our friend requesting she produce a receipt from 2 months prior (she did not keep it) while telling her she had not paid for items in which she did. What happened to the customer is always right. Clearly, the owner made a mistake approaching and embarrassing our family employee .This family employee does not have a dishonest bone in her body We have never experienced anything missing nor would we expect to. . I would highly suggest that the Carriage Place owners place security cameras in their shop to closely review the behavior and transactions of their employees. Someone on their end needs some additional training. The owners recent behavior to our family friend/ employee will have an impact on her business for this employee works not just for our family but many others. The word will spread.
I found this place by searching on Google for Antique shops in the Rochester area. I was quite pleased with the atmosphere and the variety of items. A bonus was that everything was on one level and neatly laid out. I will definitley stop in again the next time I am in Brockport!
First, the name they use under DBA (Doing Business As) is false and misleading. This business is owned by Gil & Elizabeth Glidden. They tend to boast their warehouse size, and thus giving the public the impression of a large variety of crafts & antiques! In reality you can count on one hand the actual number in both, crafts or antiques. The next point of interest is the fact of them utilizing an appraiser that is not; licensed or certified by NYS. This includes not recognized by: The Antiques Dealers Association of America, Inc. (ADA), The National Art and Antique Dealers Association of America, The Appraisers Association of America or The Antiques & Collectibles National Association (ACNA).You will notice the ratings given is for the following reasons:1) Quality of the business is poor. They will not stand behind their appraisal/s. Most dealers that offers appraisals will also stand behind it! The ethics are considered phoney! On occasions they will sponsor - Boy Scouts for donations. The owners violates Dept Health Codes by serving food without warranted permits. Again this is business ethics that is questionable.2) Business Appeal is rated poor. The building appearance is showing neglect. The roof is showing maintenence neglect and apparently leaks. This can be verified by their housing rental units tenents. The backside of building which the public doesnt see is also an eyesore and supporting proof of phoney business ethics. (Even the cheap repairs eg:multiple screens needs replacement and exterior in need of paint.) The main entrance is maintained only because clients and vendors would see this!3) Service is rated fair. Now, if you are looking for a garage sale item/s and atmosphere, then yes consider this place for a look. As or appraisals - I would go elsewhere for competence in the industry. Also, the owners daughter owns Jills Antiques in Brockport. We will later see if that business is also false and misleading..

2021-09-23This was the cleanest and most organized antique shop Ive ever been in. The also have fabric and sewing/quilting supplies. I would have given them 5 stars except no one offered to assist us and there were 4 or 5 women sitting at a table who ignored us and the other customers.

2019-09-02Very nice array of items; was impressed with the variety of depression glass and vintage fabrics. Brought my Dad, an old antiques dealer, in for his first look around and he was like a kid in a candy store. Love that the booths arent jammed full. Staff was friendly and left you alone to shop in peace. Left empty handed because we were looking for some specific pieces of furniture but I have a feeling Ill be back for Christmas shopping 🙂

2019-09-14It all started one day when my mom and I went out looking for unique Christmas gifts. We ended up here and we now also have a space at the co-op as my mom is an antique dealer. Its family owned&operated and they are more than welcoming to all that come by. If youre looking for something new thats old you need to go take a look for yourself. Its an ever changing display of one of kind unique items; some things you may have never seen and some that you may never see again.

2019-11-19Ive been to many antique/vintage shops in Upstate NY and I have to say this is by far the best one to date. It has some of the nicest vintage items Ive seen, and all in good condition. The store is very clean and nicely arranged.

2015-12-05The Carriage Place Co-op is friendly and handicap accessible. I find it clean, brightly lit, and filled with a variety of reasonably priced goods. Its not a lot of crafts, which is fine with me. The merchandise moves quickly - so if you like it, you better buy it now, or it will be gone! The vendors who work there are all very helpful. Its a little out of the way, but worth the trip, in my opinion.

2019-04-07Often billed as the friendliest of the local antique craft co-ops. It lives up to its reputation with helpful vendor/workers and the owners who live onsite. Theres a wide array of glassware, decor, furniture, and holiday items...fabric for the quilters, and reasonably priced toys for the youngsters. The Carriage Place is worth your time and you may even see Cloe, the cute, resident pup!
