I bring two dogs and a cat to this location and will most likely be going somewhere else. The vet is great and has a thorough conversation about your pet after every visit. However the last several times I have been there they are WAYYYY overbooked. I can’t even get in the parking lot, let alone get anyone to answer my phone calls or text messages that I have arrived. The last time I went there I waited over 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone/text back acknowledging that I was there and I left before they decided to call me back. They are very expensive which I don’t mind because I care about my pets, but to have this poor of service and expect double what my friends pay at other offices is not acceptable. I work in healthcare and I know there are waits and people get behind but not even being able to acknowledge that your patient is there (yes I know these are covid times but still) is not acceptable. I would not write a review like this if this was just a one time experience.
I’m an honestly begging you please find another vet. I’m not saying everyone is like this here but I’ve never felt such a cold feeling coming from a person in my life. Please find another place to bring your pet. They WILL take advantage of you anxiety and grief about your pet and rack up a multiple thousands of dollars on your bill. Please look into other options to bring options I am begging you.
My first time taking my Baby to the vet. My first visit, but certainly not my last, to this office. The staff was so nice and took great care of my cat. The doctor was very personable and explained everything perfectly. I would highly recommend Cayuga Veterinary Services. Thank you guys!
First time at this Vet and first time with a new kitten. Due to the virus the Tech takes the cat into the office and the owner waits in the car. That was very hard - to not go in with her. The Vet called twice and spoke to me during the exam so communication was excellent. Everything went smoothly.
The staff is the most caring when it comes to treating your pets. They are always looking out for their well being. They try their hardest to schedule your appointments based on your needs. Ive been taken my dog there for years now and I couldnt be happier ( neither could be my dog!). I now have a cat and he loves it there too. Great big THANK YOU! To a wonderful staff at Cayuga veterinary Services. You guys are the best!
The staff at Cayuga Veterinary is friendly and provide warm attentive service. I waited only a few minutes to have my dog Bob attended to. He was limping and Dr. Dale took a lot of time to get to the bottom of what the problem was. The receptionist quickly got us out the door. What most impressed me was the follow up phone call by Dr. Dale. They are the best!
I love these people, from the vets to the vet techs to the front desk staff. They are great with the animals and will take all the time I need to explain what is going on and review all my options. I value their opinions and their knowledge. I have taken my personal pets and well as some neighborhood cats and they treat all of them with the same importance.
Ive never had a bad experience at Cayuga Vet. We recently took our super-senior cat there, and its the only time Ive seen an animal happy and relaxed at the vet. The staff treated her like a queen, and had a real positive change in attitude for the rest of the day. Thanks everyone!
The Doctor and all staff are so caring and genuinely nice! They are very thorough and have good suggestions for taking care of your pets that you can do at home. I like that they e-mail reminders and that I can schedule by e-mail as I am hearing impaired. Thank you Cayugs Vet Services ♥
This place is a rip off, tried pressuring me to pay for an 800 dollar X-ray told me the cat is in danger, brought it to another vet who said my cat is perfectly fine. This was 6 months ago. Also they were going to sell me on box of flee medicine until they asked me if I had another cat. I told her I had another cat and she told me she could not sell me only 1 box because I had more than 1 cat.
Ive been taking my Shih-Poo here for about a year now, and its always been a great experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you can tell everyone there really loves animals. Prompt responses whenever Ive sent an e-mail or called. I trust them and I highly recommend them.
This is the worst experience I have ever had going to a Veterinarian. The staff was kind and compassionate, but the Vet herself was incompetent. I went in to see if they could help my dog that had been throwing up for a couple of days. They charged me $200 for an X-ray, which I was later told (by another Veterinarian) was not even the best way to view the intestines. They diagnosed my dog when I came in with a blockage in the intestines or an infection of some sort. They never ran any blood work and when they sent the image off to a specialist they could not give me a definitive on the intestinal blockage. Thus, I went to them to try to get an answer only to be left with the same diagnosis as when I came in, but $400 less in my pocket.
I make the drive here even though there are multiple vets much closer to my house, because of the service and care my animals receive. The entire staff is kind and understanding with my kids as well as my pets. I also appreciate the improvements they continue to make such as the new text-based reminders and online scheduling tools.
I have been a client of this practice for 25 years. Without a doubt, the most forward thinking vets in town. Very professionally run. I always feel like the vets there are working in partnership with us and take our concerns and preferences seriously. They offer a wide range of services, including acupuncture.
Tuesday October 29th I had to say goodbye to a healthy happy dog that had many more years of joie de vivre in her. I had to say goodbye to her because of incompetency or laziness of this veterinarian. My family dog went out of state with my father to visit family and enjoy the outdoors. She found herself sniffing in barn just for a moment before she immediately called back because there was rat poison inside. My father took her here the same day he returned albeit she showed no signs of illness. He did this again 2 additional times to make sure she was okay over a period of 14days, and to have any bloodwork done or testing. That’s 14days and 3 visits this veterinarian had to figure out any illness and the solution. During these two weeks she went from her normal joyful energetic self to a bit languid and out of sorts. The vet mentioned that her red blood count was a bit low, going from 47 on an initial visit to 33 on her 3rd and last visit she would have here. The vet stated they would check her again tomorrow but weren’t concerned. That night while at home Ginger had trouble breathing, as this vet wasn’t open, we immediately drove her to Cornell but she didn’t make it the 45mins and passed away in the car 15mins before arriving. The emergency vet at Cornell looked at her and her bloodwork and said that based on her red blood count numbers she had been bleeding internally. Not only did this vet not diagnose my dogs illness, they let her suffer for 2weeks all the while we thought we were doing everything we could by bringing her 3times to be examined and have tests run. Let this be a lesson for anyone, if your animal is a family member take them to a vet that shows they care by being competent knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarians, not by empty words and vapid statements to say they care.I will never trust a diagnosis from this vet nor will I bring any future pet/family member nor would I recommend them to anyone. Do your research, find a knowledgeable staffed vet and take advantage of the resources that may be a bit further of a drive because the feeling that you let your dog down and failed them by bringing them here pales in comparison to any additional short term fees or time driving.Trust and believe I will not make this mistake again, I care far too much about my pets to give them substandard care.
This veterinary office is top of the line. I have been coming here for 4 years, and have not had a better experience anywhere else, ever! They are very loving to the animals, and respectful of the animal and the owner. I cant say enough good things about the staff here. My pets enjoy going there and have never shown fear as they had a other offices.
Absolutely phenomenal. I couldnt have asked for better service. Not only was it completely affordable. The staff was accomodating, and extremely knowledgable and compassionate.Everyone knew Costas name and continued to use it.They took care of all my worries and they took care ofy furbaby if you need a vet and you need it now. They are the best thing. I cannot recommend them enough.Thank you so much, I was worried I would be in the way and annoying but you made me feel helpful and calm and kept me informed the entire time. I will CERTAINLY be a loyal client.
The only place in the county I trust with my pets lives. They have never dismissed my concerns, never brushed off my thoughts on my pets health and the only place who has ever asked ME what I think could be the problem. I’ve actually had a different vet laugh at me when I voiced my concerns over a new kitten. Said kitten didn’t live to be 6 months old. Caring veterinarians are FEW!!! Don’t waste your time or a fur-baby’s life going anywhere else.
The whole staff cares about your pet as much as you do! They not only give great care to your pet, but they care about you too..... They take the time to discuss your options and why, we love it there and my pets (members of our family) love it there too. They are definitely pampered!
This vet refused to wait 1 day for payment and perform emergency surgery on my dying cat. She had been in labor over 24 hours and kittens were dead inside her. He said ive gotten into trouble playing bank. MONEY WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAVING THE LIFE OF AN ANIMAL....He told us, after inducing her needlessly again, that if she hadnt given birth by the next morning to bring her. She hadnt, so we called. The receptionist REFUSED to call him, as he instructed. Said he was booked, and would not perform surgery on our cat. He lied, she covered for him and my cat died. A long , drawn out painful deaths i already left a review, and someone had even commented, but somehow these sleeve bags had it removed. God forbid a loved pet needs immedietly help and you dont have all the cash on hand...dont waist your time coming here. These people need to get a job, down the road at the mall...no business claiming they care for animals. Its MONEY thats top priority. Ill also add...that the next day..my cat was brought to another vet, WHO WAS PAID OVER 1000 IN FULL...but it was too late.
Awesome Awesome Awesome, From the people upfront, always helpful and pleasant (even when they like most of us, sometimes dont feel like it) ,to the vet techs and the Drs they care almost as much for my Sammi as I do. We love Dr Megan but everyone gives great care!!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you Doctor Megan and staff. I cannot say enough about all of your kindness, patience, understanding and professionalism when it was time for our twenty year old cat Caitlyn Marie Green to be put to rest. You all explained everything in detail. I didnt have any questions to ask,you had already answered all of them for me. Well organized and a grea team you have ! I couldnt have asked for a better place to be my my loved one and know she was well taken care off. Thank you all and God bless you all ! Love Anne Marie Green XOXO

2022-06-11One of the best veterinary teams around. We come all the way from Baldwinsville to have them treat our pup who has a number of issues. They are very fair and honest when it comes to cost and what the best options are for your family. Highly recommend them to everyone.

2021-07-09Our new Baby Chleo had her first visit with Cayuga Veterinary in June. She was a little hesitant going in but once inside she was very relaxed. She absolutely adored the staff. They made her and myself comfortable. We look forward to our future visits.

2022-01-07I have brought my two cats Myla, and Holly to this Vet a handful of times now. Not once was the staff unprofessional, not once were they NOT knowledgeable, or friendly. They always take time to address any concerns, or comments I may have. I never feel rushed. The facility is amazing, and with a swift, and safe check in process, I would not recommend anywhere else!

2021-11-16Ive gone through Cayuga veterinary services for years. Ive got a big hefty old boy of a cat and he needs some special attention. Dr. Otteson is fantastic. Very personable. Friendly staff and usually open to my needs whenever an emergency occurs. Theyve added years to my buddys life without being incredibly invasive and you cant put a price on that... But they do 😂 but dont worry, theyre affordable! Well below national average on many services.

2021-07-10I brought home my puppy about 3 weeks ago. I was looking for a new vet for him and decided to try Cayuga Vet. I was not disappointed! They were very accommodating and were able to schedule an appointment in time so he didn’t need to start his boosters all over. I never took Chance to the vet before but I knew it wouldn’t be easy. He can be such a fearful dog around unfamiliar things (barking, submissive urination.) The vet and staff were very understanding and accommodating to me and my boy! They put themselves in his shoes and were so good to him. They talked to me like a person and had great communication with me the entire time. They explained to me that their office is a fear certified office and it clearly shows. My boy was able to get a through exam without being scared to death. They talked to me about training and offered various supports to help my boy. Prices were fair. I love the online Rx ordering. After a fecal exam Chance needed medication. It was super easy to order and have shipped to my house. Such an awesome feature with having a puppy and 2 young children at home! Just such an awesome experience!

2021-10-12Had a different Dr this time and wasnt impressed. I wanted a new prescription for my dogs eye drops because she has dry eye syndrome was told to check to see if I had refills left first at pharmacy well ok I called there pharmacy and she had refills left but we told they couldnt mix the drops for me because that part of there facility was inoperable at the time due to damage from flooding told to call my vet back for prescription for another pharmacy so I did was told by Dr. Lets go without giving then to her for now and see how she does. This is unacceptable beings the Dr that had diagnosed and first started the drops said it was extremely important to give her the drops the rest of her life, or my baby dog would very likely go blind. Needless to say I wont be taking my baby girl back to that vet again I fired her, but will be Still going tothat practice to see her original Dr, atleast hes not to lazy or incompetent to write a script and he has my dogs best interests at heart.

2020-11-21We love Cayuga Veterinary Services! Great and caring staff, awesome doctors who take the time to thoroughly explain what your pet needs, fair prices. Our dog isnt always a fan of her trips to the vet, but their compassion and concern have brought her around. She is much less nervous than ever before! After struggling for years to find a great place for our pet care, we are home! Highly recommended!
