Super Asian supermarket, fresh fish, lots of varieties of food on shelves, you can get lost here just browsing items. I walked 1.6 miles to buy dumpling wraps to prepare for a webinar dumpling cooking class. I did not know they had so many choices. Worth the walk, but you can drive, they have a large parking lot.
I love this place it has a good variety of all things supermarket and Asian influences. You must wear a mask 😷. They are very nice. The one thing that has changed is that if you bought a certain amont of food they would give you discount coupons . But as a result of the pandemic they are not offered it. Mind you I spend like 80.00 if not more e everytime I go to this store. I recommend the store.
This supermarket makes me wish I lived a lot closer to it, I just really love some of the snacks and products they have. I would shop here for whatever snacks my own supermarket dont sell, like a supermarket that sells products from Japan, China and whatever else. Its something I would go to maybe all the time and shop.
Thank God for a place like this. More Asian supermarkets are needed in the bronx. As a former queens resident I had one everywhere and was able to get my needs easily. I sometimes go back to queens just for that reason. But this supermarket is a blessing because its accessible and has a lot of inventory with just about anything you need. Its very well reasonably priced and a good alternative to the overpriced H mart. Didnt give a full 5 stars because the store is dated and hasnt done any kind of furnishings to the store and they dont provide bags.
Fabulous place to get some fresh fish! Parking is a bit sketchy,bc the place has plenty of customers. Aisles are filled with goodies of all sorts. Plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. Also huge variety of groceries. Dont forget to check out their wall of shame!, of people who got caught stealing!
Live in westchester and last time visited maybe 4,5 years ago at which time didnt have a good shopping experience. Decided to give it a try again today.Place is still out dated, hardware need upgrade. Not well organized definitely not comparable to hmart. It does have some unique items thats only available in Chinese supermarket, but if you can afford the toll i would suggest to pay a visit to the flushing supermarket stores.
Because its Chinese --- not Korean or Japanese --- cleanliness is not quite up to the perfection Japanese and Koreans achieve. Even so, its acceptably clean, and its always crowded with Indians and Pakistanis and Central Americans buying vegetables and fruit not stocked at American supermarkets. Prices are in-line with most supermarkets, and if you lived in Korea or Japan at any time, youll find those imports. Plus kimchi of course. And fresh fish, pulled swimming right out of an aquarium, if youre so inclined. All in all, a great supermarket; the Bronx is lucky to have it as most oriental food stores are in Manhattan or Queens.
This supermarket has a multicultural selection. The produce is always fresh! There is a fish market and a meat market section. The salmon is farm raised. They have live crabs and lobster. The meat and poultry are fresh not frozen. I love that many cultural varieties of food are available.
A real Chinatown experience in the Bronx. Chang Li has everything you need to make that Asian inspired dish you saw on YouTube. They have live fish/ frozen fish/ fresh meat and vegetables. And every kind of noodle/soup and sauce you can imagine. Prices flux but are better than Whole Foods or Fairway. Around the corner corner from the Bx39 its a stones throw from the Oval. Definitely not for those who dont like crowds or busy weekend lines. Most workers are not Native English speakers, so please be kind. I saw multiple people yelling at workers and thats so low classDo better. This place is amazing. Thank you Chang Li, I never have to travel 2 hours down to Chinatown NYC again.
Everyone I know calls this place The Chinese supermarket. I have been going there for years. They have the freshest meats you can find next to actually being alive. The seafood, some are alive and swimming in tanks. They have the most variety of produce from around the world 🌎 I have ever seen. I highly doubt there is a culture. It represented there, interns of foods. The place gives you the atmosphere of walking🚶 through a market with endless possibilities of things to find. I have seen things in there I had ever only heard of or not at all. The workers are very nice people. I will continue to shop there. Lucky for me, its around the corner from home 🏡.
This place is kind of gross. Theres just certain things I wont buy from here. But on the other hand they have a decent selection of Asian, Hispanic, Indian and Caribbean specialty foods as well as standard U.S. domestic brands. They also have live seafood and a butchers station if that tickles your fancy.
I gave this place 3 start and not 2 because of the prices and selection BUT! First! The smell assaults you the second you walk through the door. Woe unto you if it is hot outside, I swear the smell can knock you over and you feel like throwing up. It does not get better inside the store, it is intense and truly gut wrenching. After you get around the smell, the produce, fish, meat etc are usually good quality. BEWARE inspect what you buy, they do tend to leave stuff that is poorer quality on the shelves. I suggest only buying fish that you know is fresh. For all the bad things I said they still get 3 stars. That smell is truly disgusting.
When I want a taste of home (Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹). I make a bee-line for Chang Li Supermarket. I can find almost anything I need to make authentic Trini meals. Sometimes they have items that I havent seen in years and Im always delighted to see them. I tell everyone to head to Chang Lis!
Chang Li carries a variety of Asian ingredients that you wont find elsewhere in this area. The stores smells strongly of fish, but thats to be expected as there is a generous fish market right near the entrance. The workers might come off as cold to some, but they are nice and hardworking people.
I like buying at Chang li because its close to home and when you enter first you see the most important and huge selective display of veggies and fruits which are the healthiest foods. Then from left to right you have a nice selection of fish, poultry and meats ,with following ,the sweets and unsweetened goodies to your tummys desire with the household items giving me many choices. If you shop at Chang Li,You leave very happy,In the state of Tai Chi.
Between parkchester and castle hill avenue subway station, a super market you can get almost every things.A huge collection of Fresh, frozen or live fish, sea food, sea fish like salmon, squids, big shirmp, or frozen. Many kinds of meat, like chicken, beaf, pork available here.Fresh vegetables, fruits items and also you can find grocery item here.Every things is good. But one things is there most employee didnt understand what you said. If you need a vegan item they didnt understand you and suggest a non vegan item.Otherwise everything is good, just you have to find it your self!
This supermarket is pretty good ^_^ my family and I go there all the time for asian products sometimes. I love the candy and all sorts of Asian products like rice, seaweed, candy, sweets, regular drinks. The only thing is that Im not a fan of seafood and it smells but they do have tons of seafood so Id recommend this asian market if u like tons of seafood. Also theres lots of meat there so its really good. I hope u choose to go here. Its my favorite place to go like Chinatown since theyre both asian markets ^_^.
I will never shop at this place again. While I fully understand publicly banning thieves from an establishment for stealing - the “monkey head” description handwritten on a black person’s photo is absolutely disgusting and uncalled for, particularly given the racial history of black people being referred to as monkeys. Such a blatant display of disrespect and ignorance.
One of my piano students lives in Castle Hill so I see this store sometimes. It has a smaller selection of items than other Chinese stores but the basics can be found, 榨菜s, noodles, 萝卜s,. I get fish closer to home cuz this far af for me.If you live around the 2/5 train, you can take the 44 bus to a Chinese store or Super Hmarts in Whitestone, Queens.
Terrible customer serviceUnfriendly and when you ask a question, nobody answers, they just glare and walk off!strangest shopping experience ever! The guy in the fish market was nice though, so Ill leave him out of this review! Everyone else needs training and plz have atleast one person on the floor who speaks English!
Creepy old Chinese man with glasses just stands there and stares at customers as they come through the entrance. Remove him or I will MOVE my hard earned money to another grocery store! Its rude to stare and if you MUST stare then at least say hello! We are paying customers and we deserve respect!
Totally rubish. I bought 40lb soursop box from them 15 days earlier but it’s wasn’t 40lb when I took it home it was only 32lb. Today, I came asked for a box but I told them to weight this when they did weight the again it was 31lb. And, the manager was totally changed. He told me he not gonna sell anything to me. Anyway, I’m not gonna go anymore. The thief chinsise community. Huh
This place is always dirty and horrible smell, soon as uou enter ,they marked down the price different between weekend and weekday, can be find what you looking for your daily groceries with overpriced, women are always at the register with bad attitude if ask a question theyll completely ignored you pretend they dont speak English but they do fish are guys are nice and helpful ,any how your fish cuts need to be done theyll do

2021-10-17A very good selection of loose Asian fruits and vegetables. The fish and meat counters are ok but nothing special. It beats a trip to Queens or Chinatown. Not as clean or big as an H-Mart.

2022-02-10Good prices for a supermarket. Fish Dept is still slow with the numbering system but better than before. Meat Dept. moves very quickly. Not alot of help in the aisles. Good for ethnic hard to find items. Parking is available and is wheelchair accessible.

2018-11-10Pretty good supermarket with a great variety of Asian, Hispanic, and Indian items. Staff are friendly and I absolutely love the Asian Japanese section where they consist of pocky and various Japanese snacks you can’t get anywhere else for really cheap. I recommend for anyone that likes Japanese snacks or just Japan in general.

2022-06-05Excellent. Very wide and a lot of selections. Many options for vegetable and specially leafy vegetables and Asian vegetable. Fresh rolls come every day in the morning. Live fish and many other fishes. Live fish include, catfish, carp, telapia etc. For The fish, dont forget to take a token and wait for your number to be called. There is plenty of parking in the property. Bring your own bag, otherwise you need to pay 25 cent per bag.

2022-06-18Meat fruit and vegetables are always available, but the veggies are kind of quilted. I would find items from Japan, China, Philippines, but now I see too much chilie pepper ,and a lot of My favorite things not available. Had to go to H Mart in Manhattan or Yonkers.
