My cat ( Gabby ) as most cats hates everything unless its there idea. Gabby loves...LOVES....going there. Once she is out of the box she starts purring and always greats the staff with a meow hello. The staff at chestnut ridge really enjoy what they are doing and it shows in the quality of work that they do by the love that they show Gabby and they always go above and beyond . Thank you chestnut ridge hospital.Love Gabby and Mom
We have been going to Chestnut Ridge for over 3 years now, and I have to say we are beyond grateful to have found them. From Day 1, we have received nothing less than AMAZING care for our dog. The entire staff there are some of the kindest, most caring people you can find. Our dog actually LOVES going in to see all of her friends there, weve never had a bad experience.Just recently, we had an appointment for our pup to get a round of her vaccinations. We were a week out from the appointment, and we noticed some head and ear shaking from our dog. We called in, and rather than have us wait, they said if we could swab her ears and drop the swabs off; and they could look into it. Ends up she had a mild ear infection. It was so convenient to be able to drop off the swabs, no appointment, and get her meds as well. This is the type of care that is just unrivaled, and that will keep us loyal to this team for all of our future pets.I cant say enough about how great this team is and how awesome Dr. Hostetler is. If our pup Beemo could give them 5 paws, she 100% would.Thank you CRAH Team for being awesome and always being great to us when we come in.
Dr. Hostetler takes the time to get to know you and your pets. I never feel rushed, and she listens to you about your concerns. I have two special needs dogs, and I withdrew care from a “specialty” vet because I have confidence that she is quite capable of meeting their needs.
Dr. Andrea and her staff have been extremely accommodating to my family over the past month. Not only did they take on three of our dogs as new patients this month, but they have been timely and compassionate under challenging circumstances. We just picked up our 13 year old border collie after she had some dental work done. They saw her for an exam and in just a few days they had scheduled an appointment for her to have the surgery. My family and I are very pleased with our decision to switch veterinary offices and are fortunate to have found a clinic with such excellent communication and compassion.
Ive had nothing but great experiences here. I really liked Dr. Andrea Randazzo, who has since retired, and I really like Dr. Jennifer Hostetler, whos taken over recently. Dr. Andrea was incredibly kind and compassionate about a sick cat I had to put down (cancer), and all things considered, it wasnt that expensive. Dr. Hostetler has been very sweet and competent, as has been the entire staff, despite being understaffed and stretched thin. She was very clear and non-pressuring about the costs & line-items associated with neutering my youngest cat, which I appreciated.
Dr. Andrea and her staff are great. They are always able to get me in for an appointment when needed, and provide knowledgeable and compassionate care. I had to bring my dog in during the pandemic and the procedure they had in place was flawless. Even in the pouring rain Dr. Andrea came out to my car to explain her findings (just a minor ear infection) and treatment. They are always so kind and understand the love and concern owners have for their pets. They provide attentive care with endless patience just as if they were treating their own pet.
I called the day after I was given an 8 week old Brown Lab puppy as she had worms. They let me bring her in the following day. They were extremely kind caring and knowledgeable. My experience was so nice I have since made them my pup Sophies permanent veterinarian. Sophie is now 12 weeks and has gone back for her first series of three shots. Again my experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend these folks!
I had to make the hard decision of putting my beloved dog down last weekend. Dr. Randazzo and her staff have been nothing but absolutely amazing and compassionate during it all. As soon as I chose her as my dogs new vet, I knew I had made the right choice. From the time my dog was diagnosed with his tumor and up until his final moments she was there step by step. I couldn’t recommended her more. Thank you all for what you do
Dr Andrea and the team are amazing! They do such a great job taking care of our pup. He can be a handful to get into the office as he is animal aggressive. They are wonderful about accommodating our special needs to keep everyone safe. I couldn’t ask for a better place to take him and it is well worth our commute!
My first experience with Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital and Dr. Andrea was when we had to say goodbye to our baby of 14 years. As sad as this time was for us Dr. Andrea was amazing. That in itself made us feel confident in putting our trust in her for our fur babies. I recommend her highly and have referred her to many! Thank you Dr. Andrea and your staff - Marie & Sasha and the rest of the gang!
Dr. Andrea is a professional who truly cares about both her animal clients & the people who own them, she is wonderful. We have 2 dogs and a cat and have been going there for 8 plus years and have always been happy with the customer service & the results. Highly recommend this vet.
Dr Andrea Randazzo and her staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and gentle with my dog. She is getting on in years and has had a few difficulties for the past couple of years. Dr Randazzo has been very compassionate in working with my dog and you can see it in my dogs attitude about going to her visits. I highly recommend Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital. Ive never had an experience that made me feel even the slightest uncomfortable.
Dr. Andrea and her staff are exemplary. Dr. Andrea listened to my concerns and was very attentive to my cat when he required round the clock care. He is alive today because of her expertise, her compassion and her cooperation with Cornell. I will always be eternally grateful to her and to her practice for the great service she has provided not only to me but that she continues to provide for the community.
They made me wait six months before bringing my dog in for a surgery. Through my dog that where do you room for two hours scheduled for surgery for another six months. If you care for your animals well-being end do you not want to waste a lot of time to not bring your animals, forgot to mention that my dog paced around the house for hours after returning from here
Dr. Andrea and her outstanding staff are absolutely fantastic. Their professionalism goes above and beyond what I expect. Every one of them takes time to answer questions, explain what will be done during the appointment, follow up, etc. Very helpful and friendly. This is our third dog that Dr. Andrea has taken care of.
Doctor Andrea is the best. I bring all myanimals to her and she takes thetime to explain what is going on. Today she put mycat (CoCo Chanel) to sleep and cut her hair and she did an excellent job. Very professional and I would highly recommend Chestnut Ridge to anyone who needs or looking for a veterinarian.
I was with Dr. Smith for years, and when Dr. Andrea took over for him I stayed, I can not say enough about how she has taken care of my dog, we have had a couple cancer surgeries and my cat as well. She is always professional, honest and considerate of my feelings in delicate situations to due with my dogs health. The cat was a stray someone dropped off at our house, I took to doctor to have her give shots etc. so I could try to adopt out and honestly say he was healthy, when doctor did the cats initial exam, she realized that the cat was about a year old and not neutered, she said since I was paying for all the shots for the cat she would like to neuter for no charge, and she did that evening, she had the cat stay and I picked him up the next day. After a couple of adoptions that did not work out, the cat is now mine and 4 years old and in excellent health thanks to Dr. Andrea! I love her and her staff!!!
Dr Andrea is the best! With a dog infected with heart worm and a cat with a 4 infected gash in his shoulder - she explained the process of each step by step and gave us comfort with her very caring bedside manner. There is no doubt that Dr Andrea is a lover of all animals and cares about their owners too!
Dr. Andrea is wonderful- she always takes the time to address any additional questions and clearly cares for all the animals she treats. Our two dogs always respond very well to her, both have at separate times needed surgeries and we have never had any issues afterwards. The cost for treatments is very reasonable as well. Highly recommend Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital!
At the Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital, I really like that they dont just care for my pet, they help me to take better care of my dog too. Dr. Andrea is great. I cant thank her enough for the great job she did on my dog and his surgery this past March. She really took great care of him.
My daughter and I have both taken each of our dogs to the Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital for a couple of years now. She has always gotten her pups annual check-ups with Dr. Andrea- blood work and things like that. Our dogs are not too fond of all of those medical procedures, but our dogs just love Dr. Andrea. She really is the kindest, most compassionate vet Ive met.
Dr. Andrea was my vet several years ago when she was located in NJ. She is the kindest, most compassionate vet I have met. She took great care of my cocker over the years, and came to our house when the time came for us to say goodbye to our beloved pet. She is a wonderful vet and person.
I take my pets to this vet office and theyve always been nice to us.I found a stray kitten that was only 6-8 weeks old one morning on my porch and I called several offices and hospitals, the dog warden, and the SPCA half of them just turned me away. Half of them said they only took dogs and the SPCA was very rude and basically told me to leave it or suck it up and take to a vet and take responsibility. After awhile I called my own vet, which is this one. They were super helpful and worked with me because of the situation. The kitten needed its eye removed, which is a decent surgery. Im sad to say I wouldnt have been able to get anywhere or afford it without there help. He would have continued to suffer. But because of the kindness of this office he now has a nice home to a loving owner.
Dr. Randazzo and her staff are absolutely amazing. They are caring, efficient, and go the extra mile to help me be a better pet parent. I am a proactive person who asks a lot of questions and they understand this, want me to feel comfortable, and always support me with whatever I need for my dog. I cannot say enough about this animal hospital.
My family and I have four dogs between us and have always have had an excellent experience with Dr. Randazzo and her staff! Very personal, proffesional and always treat our dogs like they were their own. I have close friends that bring their pets there and ha e the same caring experience that we do. I highly recommend Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital.
My dog was pretty scared by the barking of another dog sitting in the waiting room so the vet tech put us into one of the exam rooms quickly upon noticing what was taking place. That move definitely helped my dog to regroup and calm down. And doc, of course, did all she could to continue to soothe my gal during her exam!
Overall, what I like most about Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital is the vet, Dr. Andrea. She is always there to answer whatever questions I may have, and always sufficiently explains the treatments or conditions that my pets are undergoing. The rest of the staff are very good also.
If your not rich don’t come here, fails to tell you price of what’s going on before hand. Then after takes your wallet and gently puts it in a coffin. Small check ups will run you hundreds of dollars and don’t get me started on prices to have cats neutered. Out of this world outrageous. Dr. Fine is cheaper and more genuine about how things are done.
They are very good at Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital. When I had to put my dog down, the vet and I stayed with my dog when my son couldnt handle it anymore. So the vet put him down the rest of the way and she held him until he was completely gone and everything for us. So I only have positive things to say about Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital.
Unfortunately my dog was attacked by a much larger dog that inflicted 2 deep puncture wounds around her neck. This happened on Saturday in Syracuse so I took her to Emergency Vet Hospital in Syracuse where she was saved and spent the night.Brought her home late Sunday night. On Monday morning I took her to Dr. Randazzo (without an appointment) before they opened. When Dr. Randazzo arrived she immediately looked at my dogs injuries and reassured me she would be ok. And the doctor took her inside and gave her a needed rabies booster. Again all this without an appointment or phone call. Thank you Dr. Randazzo.
Bringing in my dog for surgery of a growth on his inner eyelid, I was a little nervous. However, I was greeted by the staff who put me at ease. Dr.Randazzo explained what she was going to do after an exam of my dog. Then explained that he would be ready to go home that afternoon. Upon picking him up, after care was explained as well as what was found. I feel my dog was in the best hands during this time.
I had to put my dog down because he had a lump on his throat. It was amazing what the vet did with that dog. The poor dog could barely walk, hardly could breathe. The vet at Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital had a way people and animals that make you feel like your part of the family. Thanks.
Unprofessional and inattentive. We see our pet as a member of our family so words can hardly describe how disheartening our experience was. We brought our cat in for a routine checkup and the staff already made administrative mistakes on his paperwork saying he was the wrong age (we brought documents from prior visits with this information). The doctor briefly introduced herself and then proceeded to check his heartbeat and his teeth and said that the exam was over. She did not look in his ears, feel his stomach or notice the flea dander that was on his fur (he is a white cat). After the extremely short examination he was given two shots (they put the shot labels in the wrong place on his shot record) and sent him on his way. He had a fever for 9 DAYS following that visit! We took him to another doctor who took much more time and attention to detail and now our cat has recovered. We scheduled a meeting with the original doctor to explain what had happened and she became immediately defensive and said very unprofessional things to my wife that I will not repeat. Please consider taking your pet to another doctor. We chose Dr. Gill at Brookside Medical and he has been great.
Dr. Randazzo has been amazing to work with. Her bedside manner has been unparalleled. I have always been able to count on her since my very first visit. She takes the time necessary to make sure that the options, if any, are thoroughly explained. She always makes me feel comfortable. She takes the time to follow-up on procedures and doesnt assume that no news is good news. I appreciate Dr. Randazzo and everything that she does for me. My family appreciates everything that she does for us. I highly recommend her or her practice to anyone thinking of changing Veterinarians. When looking for someone to give your pet the best care....its stressful. No one likes the uneasy feeling of entrusting their pets to just anyone. I can vouch wholeheartedly for Dr. Randazzo. Shes fantastic!! If you can not use your real name while giving a negative review, its either a bogus review or you are not giving the reviewed party the opportunity to make the situation right. Js.
The Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital is so great, I really dont think they could do much, if anything, to improve their services for my pets. I think they are great. Whenever people ask why I travel so far to take my pets here, I say that it is by far the best place to go if you want good service.
Please think twice before you go to this vet ! she has a lot of people fooled. She takes advantage of people by over charging. she lies, she never returns phone calls and techs are not allowed to clients back either. she does not know how to run a business ! It is a shame this animal hospital is going down hill . it used to be a place you could trust when Dr. smith was there. I have been going here for years and will be changing now that i know the truth about this vet. I cannot respect anyone that lies and over charges people on purpose. it is her job to call clients back, But she doesnt think so .She doesnt care about anyone else. so sad !!!! these people that say she calls you back, you must be friends of hers or i must be seeing a different vet there.
I dont care what kind of negative reviews people have about this place they are awesome thougt I was going to lose my dog and Doc Andrea solved the problem they treat your pets very well and take care of the concerns of the pet owners and are reasonably priced again AWESOME and thanks to the staff

2022-08-08Always amazing. There hasnt been a single time that I have called or visited that I have ever been let down. Dr. Hostetler And her team are absolutely caring, kind, and compassionate. My dog loves coming to the vet because she knows the second she walks in the door, everyone gives so much love to her and shes in amazing hands. We could not be any happier with CRAC and will be coming here for many, many years (and pets) to come.

2022-04-06Both of my cats go here and have since my bigger cat came running through my door as a kitten. From then to now I can’t come up with 1 complaint. They know my big cat is very “spicy” and still take their time with him to make sure he has the best care ever. From dr that left to the new dr that took over and all the staff.. you can tell they truly love animals.

2022-03-17Simply the best!! My kitty Hudson was having some urinary issues and was seen at the emergency vet in Auburn. They wanted me to follow up with my regular vet in 7-10 days for another urinalysis. I was unable to get an appointment at my regular vet so I called Chestnut Ridge. Dr. Jennifer Hostetler and her staff were so accommodating and got Hudson in as a new patient within a few days even though they were booking out into June. Following the checkup I spoke with Dr. Hostetler on the phone and she thoroughly explained everything and answered all my many questions. I hung up feeling informed and at ease. They went up and above for us. I immediately made an appointment for my other kitty Lynx to also join the Chestnut Ridge family. I know my kitties will be in the best hands with Dr. Hostetler and her staff at Chestnut Ridge Animal Hospital! Thank you so much!!
