I had a very nice experience here. You could pretty much take pictures of everything here, everything is placed in the right spot. The staff here seem nice they greet you every time you enter the establishment (place). Theres a lake in the back with swans and geese. [Im not gonna lie, some of the staff here are low-key pretty.] IG: jov_style
This place the Coral House and Dover group is wrong my BestFriend had booked an event prior to Covid and she kept reaching out to them for two years for her reimbursment of $400 for Easter Event and until this year of 2022, she was able to reach to someone by the name of Elizabeth, who was no help and told her that management had told her options of providing gift card but due to their lack of communication my bestfriend did not want gift cards which was understandable, but then agreed. After Elizabeth called again and told her she made the Complaint to the Better Business Bureau it voided any refunds or reimbursement unless she took it down. It wasnt even her complain that was posted, but she had made a complaint. I dont understant if they are a business Coral House and Dover Group and if they make a tons of money why are they making it so difficult for her if she had been trying to reach out to them and in the end is her money. I am a witness to this as I was present when the conversation was taking place. This is wrong and unprofessional. I want to make this public as no credit has been provided at this time.
This place was so amazing!! The decor was classic and regal. However, there was a larger Italian looking employee at the front, it seems he was in charge of the venue for the night, and we saw him yell at a little girl to stop playing the piano. And though I understand the piano should not be touched, the way he handled it was a little bit unprofessional and unkind especially when dealing with a child. Other than that everything else was great, each ballroom had a different feel and Im sure that any occasion celebrated here will look lavish and impressive. Ive seen Disney weddings and this place was just as impressive! The best part was the food. The cocktail hour had lobster tacos, mac and cheese bites, jerk pork, jerk chicken, braised short ribs, rice and beans, fried rice, chicken with vegetables, Fried Chicken, every fruit Ive ever seen, and every vegetable in the world! Also there was a good selection of cheeses and crackers and cold pastas that were to die for! I looked so greedy because I literally ate everything they offered me. The servers were so professional they walked around dressed impeccably with white gloves serving you their Delicacies. It was an open bar at this wedding and that was amazing because the drinks were great and the bartender was Turnt Up dancing with us and making it so much fun. The location of this place with nice, they had Christmas lights outside that gave it a garden feel it did not feel like Christmas just almost like a fairytale Garden. I loved it nice place.
Warning to any future bride and groom looking to get married, stay clear of the Coral House!! Just recently had my wedding here and it was absolutely just straight out disappointing. My family has used this venue in the past for weddings and it used to be good, but recently it has been absolutely horrible. As a bride you never want to think about your wedding day being anything but perfect, although unfortunately the coral house ruined my wedding day, so if you do not want yours ruined as well do not ever book with any of their locations!! To start off we arrived to the bridal suite and had to FIND the maitre d. He was no where to be found all night. I met him literally once and never saw him again the whole night. The bridal suite had no hot hors doeuvres like we payed for and the bathroom did not even have any paper towels or hand dryer. After asking the front desk and many other staff members multiple times for something (anything) to dry our hands with they finally brought down paper towels after cocktail hour already began. During cocktail hour myself and my husband asked several times if the AC could be raised because every guest was complaining and literally dripping in sweat. Needless to say the Ac was never raised throughout the night, even though we were told it was. Throughout the reception we were also told our bridal suite with all of our personal belongings was closed and that we were not allowed down stairs and could not access the suite. This was infuriating as all of our envelopes with cash were located in the bridal suite. When I asked why myself and my bridal party couldnt access the room we were simply told it was closed off... I was then told to use one of the main bathrooms that all the other guests were using. Try squeezing into a regular sized stalls with a ball room wedding gown on. During the reception once again we never saw the maître d or bridal attendant all night. Our guests and photographer were actually serving myself and my husband drinks from the bar because they felt so bad that we never even got offered a drink. Towards the end of the night at one point I went up to the bar to get myself a drink and the bar tender had her head down buried in her phone and I actually had to say hello to get her attention. After asking for a drink I was very rudely served with an attitude. Lastly one of the things that truly upset me was at the end of the night when my husband and family were cleaning up the maître d and every staff member stood in a corner and watched us clean everything up and haul everything out to our cars ourselves. Not once did they offer any assistance. I was lifting heavy rubbermaid boxes in a 3000 dollar wedding gown in the rain and not one staff member thought to offer any assistance. I will never be using this venue again, and if you dont want your wedding day ruined do not use them either !!!! After the wedding I contacted my banquet manager Laurie (who constantly purposely ignores calls) and was pretty much told well your not getting any type of compensation. Although I was never looking for compensation anyway, I just wanted to express my sadness and disappointment in the locations service and the management was just as horrible as the staff. Management and the owners do not care about anything besides making money. It is truly devastating to spend thousands of dollars on your one special day and be treated so horribly!
To anyone planning an event, do yourself a favor stay out of this place. We were planning to have our daughters Quinceanera here. We did the contract and started our payments. This was just before covid had even started. After when covid hit, we stop our payment because, we knew we werent going to be able to do the party due to city restrictions, knowing that they refused to give us a refund and told us that if have any complaints to talk to their lawyers.
My husband and I got married this Sunday, we did a brunch wedding and it was everything we couldve ever dreamed of. Laurie is a literal angel and was extremely helpful and reliable through every step of the planning process. The ceremony and reception rooms were set up beautifully, the food was great, and the staff was attentive and kind. Our guests all had a wonderful time, so did we! Thank you for everything youve done for us, Laurie (and the Coral House team!). We are so grateful and we will remember this day fondly forever.
Disappointed! Ordered corn fritters and they were cold and undercooked. They offered to replace my order. I declined; Won’t eat there again. Spoke to some girl that said she was the manager, she sounded like she was 18 years old. Raynors shouldn’t let the coral house tarnish their name.
I just had my sons communion party here and I can not say enough amazing things. Our party was in the Americana room which is absolutely gorgeous. All of the covid safety protocols were followed and the staff was fully masked at all times. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Every member of the staff was very polite and friendly. The cocktail hour was amazing. The lobster tacos appetizer was a fan favorite. Every guest was very pleased with the service and quality of food. Frank the banquet manager went above and beyond to make sure that this party was a success. Laurie the other banquet manager answered every question I had throughout the planning process. I HIGHLY recommend this venue.
I just had my wedding there last weekend. Their decor in it self is absolutely stunning! Laurie makes the process of hiring them entirely too easy. She is great and very helpful, Her smile would make anyones day. When it came to my actual wedding day, everything went perfect! The service and food was just incredible, the food was soooo delicious, every single person was amazed how good it was. Melissa made my day go swimmingly! She was our matre D and let me tell you, she just made my day turn out to everything I have imagined! Thank you for letting me host my wedding at your venue.
This place is a staple to the community. I have been coming here for the majority of my events for a while and I always love my experience. Recently had a rooftop event which was awesome.Beautiful place that never fails to put a smile on my face. Cant wait for the next wedding at the Coral House!
Attended a wedding there recently. Due to Covid restrictions, there was no dancing allowed. Space was set up appropriately. The staff was masked at all times and very attentive. The place itself was very clean and you could tell the guest safety was their top priority. Very pleasant experience.
Fair pricing, beautiful rooms, professional service...Update: for our daughters Wedding we had the most AMAZING cocktail hour and before that incredible service of food and drink to the Bridal Suite!! We enjoyed how beautifully decorated the venue was at Christmas time!! Our guests were really impressed. They beat all other venues in pricing. Kelly was our Catering manager. She was Awesome.
Went for a wedding and Michelle one of the bartenders for the night was truly amazing. She was fun and super friendly and generous with the drinks. When we moved rooms she remembered what I wanted to order before the bar was closed so we can change rooms and was super polite. I had her mix me something off the top of her head (i had a few drinks at this point) and it was super delicious. She gave me drinks that I had never tried before and was a super awesome person she definitely earned her tip for the night. She is going places with how well she mixes her drinks.
Love this place. Very clean and declarated beautifully for the holidays. Perfect time for a Wedding. The service was great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place for any kind of party u are thinking of having.... From sweet 16s to Weddings. They will take care of u and make your night the best night of your life!!! Book an event today, u will not be Disappointed!
Went for a wedding in August. The venue is nice just a little congested with all the other events occurring at the same time. Hallways were busy with employees running around and other rooms with events had their doors open. Food was pretty good and so were the drinks.
Terrible experience. Refused to refund my deposit because of a death in the family. They forced us to have our event because we spent thousands on a deposit we weren’t going to get returned. The service was absolutely terrible. The hostess Melissa was extremely nasty and called one of the guests “stupid” to her face. She was heard calling us a “bunch of monkeys” as well. Food was okay and staff was mediocre. The only positive was the room. P.S: there’s a nasty old woman working in the office there who is extremely incompetent and didn’t know how to count. Wish I could give zero stars. Absolutely dreadful. DO NOT GO HERE.
We just came back with our Chicken Maryland Dinners. Everything from the original Raynors salad dressing down to the corn fritter were excellent. We had a 40 minute drive each way to the restaurant and it was well worth it. Everything was packed perfectly and it stood hot by the time we got home. Don’t miss out, go get your chicken!
We had our office holiday party December 14th and everyone had a great time. It was similar to being at a wedding surrounded by the other office parties present at the holiday gala. Staff was friendly, venue was decorated well and holiday festive, food was good. Very well may book again for next year.
I just held my daughters baptism here and everything was perfect! The food was amazing, the staff was SO accommodating and we were just so happy with everything. The bar was stocked with top shelf liquor and the bartenders knew how to make every single type of drink! One of my guests had some dietary constraints and they made sure they were catered to and taken care of. Cant wait to have another event here!
I am only giving the venue two stars because the room was absolutely beautiful. I used outside vendors, DJ and Decorators and I was told that Coral House gets unhappy when costumers do that. It’s true!! Besides that, service was just awful and very unprofessional. Management and owner also unprofessional and very rude when I called to voice several concerns I have experienced on the night I hosted my daughters sweet sixteen. Besides the bad customer service, our room got extremely hot, a party of 140 people sweltering from the heat and they couldn’t regulate temperature. They did nothing to accommodate us, not even a simple I am sorry. I would never recommend Coral House to anyone who is looking to book their special event there. You’ve been warned, take your business elsewhere.
I gave my daughter her birthday party there - May 2018. After the affair I decided that I would not write a review because it had passed and I would not go back there again but I have to say something because I paid plenty of money. The food was poor quality and we were rushed out before the party ended because the room was booked back to back. The entire event felt rushed. The event manager packed up our personal items that we left in the dressing suite and brought them to the party room without letting us know they needed the room. She and her assistant dropped the items in the middle of the dance floor. Our waiter threw our salad plates on the table so quickly that the lettuces fell off the plate. I was in the middle of eating a steak when one of the invited stopped by the table to congratulate me before I knew it; the waiter had picked up my plate without asking if I was finished. I nearly missed the birthday cake and had to ask for a piece. I made a request to have rice served instead of potatoes. Linda who was our salesperson and promised we could have the change was absent that day and I couldn’t claim anything because everyone had been served and it was too late.I cannot tell you enough how disappointed I am with the service at the Coral House. My family celebrated my Dad’s birthday several years before this event and we were extremely happy then. It used to be one of my favorite catering restaurants. The views are beautiful but the service was terrible. My daughter will be getting married elsewhere.
We had our wedding at Coral House this past Saturday (9.21.19) and I must say that from our very 1st visit, the staff was super warm, friendly, welcoming, etc. They were absolutely great in every way!! Frank, you were the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so happy that we chose Coral House. The food was delicious, the decor was beautiful, our maitre d Nancy was the greatest as was Orlando. DREAM EVENTS is a must use!!! The center pieces and photo booth were to die for. Love, love, love this place!!!!! Highly recommend.
Great catering hall. Menu was good although minus a star for no half + half for coffee and bathroom attendant handed you paper towels and expected a tip but no mints or lotion as I am accustomed to, being I can get my own paper towels😯. Parking lot directly across the street and location is easy to find. Its a nice place to have your function but after all is said and done it only adds to the people you have attending and your music. I enjoyed myself very much👍.
We recently had our daughters Sweet Sixteen party at the Coral House. The party was amazing! The service was excellent. The food was delicious. The room looked beautiful. The adults and the kids could not stop raving about it! We received so many compliments! Linda, our banquet manager was so accommodating and helpful. We loved working with her. The professionalism of the entire staff was wonderful! I highly recommend having a party at this venue.
This place was stunning. Here for a graduation party. The service staff was on excellent, very pleasant and helpful. Food was served timely and was at the right temperature, which is a plus when serving so many. The decor was beautiful. My first time here, and I really hope Im invited back for another function. They had several functions going on at once (at least 5 I counted), but the place never seemed crowed or like too much going on. Valet was on point as well.
We came for the Raynors fried chicken. Unfortunately it is not the same as the restaurant that was many years on the south shore. It seems they license the name at the Coral House. We ordered four fried chickens that were brought out to the parking lot efficiently and friendly. Two of the dinners tasted a little over cooked. The coating or skin did not have much seasoning or flavor. It was not very good, nor was it very bad. I was just disappointed in receiving average
This was a beautiful venue, attended a bridal shower here of 100+ guest! Was very lovely and professional, the food was soo tasty. We had a buffet style dinner, which included: 2 salads, salmon, cod, chicken, pasta and bread. The only downfall was the washroom ! I expected something on a lager scale, instead it was a few stalls that was shared with other halls in this venue. There was a line up out the door of the washroom! Ugh!
We had our wedding ceremony & reception here at The Coral House and we had a fantastic experience. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we knew this would be our venue. Laurie and the team took care of my wife and I and answered every question that rose in a very timely matter. What a beautiful venue and delicious food! Everyone raved about the food served at our wedding, which was so great to hear- you always worry about people being satisfied. Even the cake and bakery they partner with was amazing! We had the best wedding night ever and could not be any happier with our choice to have The Coral House host our big day! Very affordable and they will work with you. Best staff ever ! Raquel is amazing !!!!!
I recently attended a wedding reception there, out of all the venues Ive been at i was amazed at the quality of service they provided, for the guest. Vincent who was at the door greeted everyone as they arrived. Liz who was in charge of the room, had total control. They also went out of their way to provide a laptop to show montage on Their Screens around the room which were not included they did not have to but like i said they went above and beyond. To top it off the food was great and highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to have any type of event.Thank-youAlby.
Had our wedding reception here it was Amazing the staff was excellent, food was perfect for the event , they made our dream day come true. the cocktails and even our Cake matched the colors or my wedding party just as i asked. this place is a great venue and i recommend it to any and everyone every chance i get
I attended an event this past Sunday the 17th at the Coral House. Everything was magnificent from the moment I arrived. First we were greeted by professional valet parkers and once we entered the staff was lovely. They showed us to check our coats, and then showed us to a spectacular room. The views were wonderful with large windows and high ceilings. They passed delicious appetizers as we walked into the ballroom. Everything was 5 stars. The music and entertainment was amazing, we danced the entire time, we went to the DJ and he gave us his card from Dream entertainment. I highly recommend both the Coral House and Dream entertainment.
I Had my wedding here in 2018, worst day of my life !!!!! Granted I was beyond late, like beyond late, & that’s because I started experiencing a miscarriage few hours before the wedding, so when I arrived I was late, it was dark, they didn’t work with us, they took my cocktail hour, didn’t refund me anything, I didn’t use the T.Vs yet paid for them, it was legit the worst day of my life & they did NOTHING to help the bride besides give me and my family attitude & cold food !! DONT COME HERE !
I have visited the Coral House a few times but this was for my nephews prom celebration. The food was good and hot when served. All the fountain drinks were flat. When the ice cream bar was setup they had serveral toppings but no nuts. Everything else was otherwise good.
We ordered the whole chicken dinner got half a chicken but Im glad for that, Ive spent many dinners and lunches at the original raynors this wasnt even close. The chicken had no taste, corn fridder was so greasy also the chicken was to,I like the coral house been to many beautiful affairs there, word to the wise keep out of the chicken business.
I had my wedding there this past August, and I cant stop saying enough nice things about it. The staff was so courteous and attentive, the food was delicious, the atmosphere and setting were beautiful. The only downside of the day was that it was SO humid we had to have it indoors, but they set up one of the inside rooms very nicely for us and it went perfectly. Please disregard any old reviews about the places appearance. Its been renovated so nicely - the bridal suite is very modern, with a white, silver and gray theme, and the venue rooms themselves were also updated - everything was crisp, clean and beautiful. As the bride, I only got to try some of the finger foods from the cocktail hour while we were taking photos, but I wish I could have another event there because the food was so tasty. Thank you very much to Frank and Adam who coordinated everything and answered all my annoying questions - they were so helpful and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.Id also like to add/emphasize that, while we chose the Coral House for its reasonable prices, I have high standards but also realistic expectations that you get what you pay for, and I feel like I paid that reasonable price but got above what I asked for. And also a little insight for future brides/people planning a party: by me making sure that I was always courteous to them, they showed extra care in making sure my day went as great as it did, so please keep that in mind - karma!
Thieves! This facility refused to return the deposit after canceling a great grandmother’s 100th birthday party. After reading some of the reviews, it appears this is not an isolated incident. This pandemic has caused many to show their true colors; some become heroes while others steal what they never rightfully earned. I encourage you to avoid this business.
Very nice until covid hit. We paid to have our grandmothers 100 birthday party and because of covid it got canceled. Now they are refusing to give us back our deposit and its at the point where they are not even responding to emails. This is unacceptable for a business. I am very disappointed and will not recommen this place.
Ambience is very nice, attended an afternoon party for a vivacious 90 year old, food was good, the jerk chicken needed more heat, the employees are very attentive and courteous. Excellent place, valet parking is available on the premises. Beautiful venue. And very clean.
I visited here for my 30th high school reunion. The visit began with a very very long line for valet parking, as its obvious they dont have a good system for that service. The middle was filled with lackluster food. Nothing at all to brag about, poor food options and poor execution. Lastly even the dessert left me wanting plus i had to wait over 20 minutes just to get sugar for the coffee. Maybe if i didnt enjoy reuniting with old friends so much or enjoyed dancing so much to our dj, i might have rated this less than 3 stars!! Come to think of it, i should rate it less since coral house wasnt responsible for any positives that evening!
I had my daughters christening here last year. The place was clean, affordable, food was good, staff was OK. My biggest problem was a few people werent able to make it to the event and because they were paid for already I was told I would be able to take home their plates. When the end of the night came nobody knew what I was talking about and I lost the money for about ten people, about $ 600. I just wish they were more focused on customer service.
This was my 4th time at the Coral House. Two prior times attended family weddings, but two years in a row I was here for a company holiday party. The food was delicious, great service from the staff, very attentive especially when we requested more coffee, additional seating at the table etc.. The venue beautifully decorated for the holiday season inside and out. I look forward to coming here again real soon!
I had my 30th birthday at The Coral House and it was AMAZING!!! Everybody is so professional, from the hostess at the front desk, to all the waitstaff and managers! We were in the Nantucket Deck and the room took my breathe away from the beautiful centerpieces the were made by Dream Events to how perfect the table settings were. Thank you to all the staff at The Coral House for making my birthday the best one yet!!
I was there October 2012 for a dinner dance and the cocktail hour was outside in the cold and the appetizers was cold as well. The bartenders did not give you what you wanted because their boss said so. when dinner was served the buffet style food was not that good. the rice was cold and the steak was tough., I was there 2 years ago and the food still taste the same and tempeature of the food was not hot..The place is Very Nice BUT they need a better Cook.
My daughter was married there on 8/4/18 and everyone said the food was really good as well as everything else. Jasmine was in charge for the night and she did an excellent job. There were 2 particular girls helping and serving. I dont recall their names but they had braided hair. They were wonderful and kept asking if we needed anything. Oh and my daughters 2 flower girls didnt have baskets for the rose peddles(there was a misunderstanding where she thought they were being provided) anyway, the person in charge(maybe a manager) ran to the store and bought two white baskets with ribbons! How awesome was that?!?! I felt the coral house did an amazing job and went above and beyond for my daughter. Thank you for helping make the day memorable!!
I was the DJ at an event here last weekend, a small 150 person party in The Nantucket Deck. I have been a DJ for 20 years and must admit, I remember the old Coral House very well. This venue is NOT what it used to be. The place has undergone major renovations. The place has been cleaned up and brightened nicely. The staff was very personable from the friendly bartenders to the smiling wait staff. The MaitreD was Victoria. She was on top of the bride and grooms needs, as well as staying in communication with me as the DJ. (pretty important to the DJ to keep a good flow to the party). Managers would circulate through the room regularly as the evening progressed and werent above grabbing an empty glass from a table, or sweeping something small from the floor. Kudos to the new ownership and staff, and lots of luck in your coming years!! =)
⚠️WARNING⚠️. Do not have your event at this establishment. I called Coral House in July to push my event back a year due to pandemic, not cancel push back. We are obviously living in scary times I assumed a $2000 deposit should be sufficient for an event a year and 2 months away. Without warning the manager Frank Esposito sends me a letter canceling my event due to my breach of contract. He made it very clear in the letter I would not receive a refund for my deposit reflective of the new date 11/07/2021. I say this was without WARNING because the Coral House emailed me once on July 18th for a payment. The email regarding my new dated contract was emailed to me July 30th and resent today. There were no emails, calls, letters there after regarding payments. They did not contact me by phone, email or mail to ask me to come in, to discuss terms, new contract, payments or lack of. The world has been financially impacted, to take $2000 from a family due to a lack of installments for an event that is over a year away is horrible and hurtful. Coral House should be ashamed of themselves. To write a letter saying I breached without making effort to collect payments is not good for business. The cancelation letter with the new date is proof of our verbal agreement but I can assure you Frank Esposito and his team did not reach out to me regarding payments. When I spoke to him today, I asked about the lack of outreach and lapse in communication. In his heightened frustration Mr. Esposito told me we could void the letter forget about the breach as he stated and I can make payments. I asked why was I not granted the same opportunity prior to him sending the letter? Mr. Esposito did not like my question, he hung up on me. Offering to void the letter shows me we could have discussed options. Abruptly canceling the event showed me he neglected to do so and I am not sure why. Coral House does not seem to review contracts on a case by case situation even in the mist of a pandemic, that is a lack of professionalism and consideration for the uncertain times were in. For them not to reach out to families is a lack of ethics and values. To bully and scare families about their upcoming events is not considering the community they claim to love and be a part of. I was scheduled to have my wedding, a wedding I was not able to plan due to this pandemic. Coral House opted to cancel my event rather than reach out to discuss new plan options reflective of 11/2021 date. Now ask yourself, do you really want to do business with such a place?
I got married this time last year and although the venue was Gorgeous and I had the most perfect and romantic setting Im still very upset and disappointed with the customer service. I was working with linda and close to my wedding day my husband(now) went to make a final payment and she asked him why is he the only one to come in to make the payments. (Which is quite rude) Then on my wedding day, I suffer from anxiety and my dog is a REGISTERED service dog (maltipoo), Ive never been away from her since the day she was born. I just wanted a few pictures with her considering I brought her a dress with the flowers and colors of my wedding in it and they didnt even give me a chance to explain or show her papers so my brother had to take her home and he was almost late for my wedding. Now during the reception most of my guest had a problem with the bartenders especially the man that was serving us. He was very rude and acted as if my guest were bothering him. More than 10 of my guest came to me complaining of him. But on a better note the food was amazing the waiters were wonderful and the lady that kept everything on track as far as the timing and how everything was suppose to run was phenomenal!!! We never had a rehearsal because everyone was out of town but my guest said that you couldnt even tell all thanks to her! Overall my experience was okay I am still heartbroken that I wasnt even able to get a chance to have any pictures with my dog (who is only a 4 pound service dog)
Very bad business practice. You know the world is going through a pandemic and you know that you cannot perform our wedding 9/26/20 because of the State mandate and people in fear of large gathering but you cannot return our deposit after we notified you that we not using your facility due to what i stated above. You are a thief and a crook. You are not the only one In need of money. I’m sure we are not the only one feels this way. People has legal rights and the state mandate and covid-19 is our backing.
Last night I had my daughters Nashalees sweet 16 party in the Presidential room Coral House. We all had a great time . Nick was very helpful getting people to dance and have a good time. The only disappointing moment from the party was that my daughter was not able to light up the the lights on the ice sculpture. I felt that management should have tried to help with this matter. The sculpture was the highlight of the lighting and I saw no effort in getting help with the lights. Maybe a backup of other tee lights should have been offered or prior to the lighting management should have made sure that the lights were dry enough to be lit. This would have been a dear moment to remember in person as well as in photos but now we have none of the proper candle lighting. With the cost of the sculpture I wouldve expected better. However, we all did enjoy ourselves and most importantly my daughter had a blast.
I just had my wedding here and I must say it was the best experience ever. Everything was excellent and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. Our maître d’, Victoria was very attentive and always made sure we were comfortable and that everything was going well. Our wedding coordinator, Linda was also instrumental to making sure our special day was perfect. She was on top of everything and was very helpful in making sure we had all the correct permits and such so that our day went off without a hitch.
Im only speaking from a vendors perspective. The venue is really nice.however, if you are a DJ, photo booth operator, or anything in between. Just be aware that you cannot roll anything in you have to carry everything in by hand. Even though their staff roles everything, from the nimbus, sparkular, stacked chairs, and tables. Also dont go to the bar and try and get a drink. I was told they cannot serve me because Im a vendor. thats the first time Ive heard that in any of the places Ive done. Im not angry if thats the rules thats the rules just making you aware. So if you own The Rock and roller cart it will be totally useless.
Coral House Restaurant in Baldwin NY is a very nice place to have an event. However, be aware that when you make a deposit for your event it is almost impossible to get your refund if anything prevents your event from happening.Emmeline 100th birthday celebration planned for May 2020, was unable to take place, because of covert19 all businesses were ordered closed by NY Governor, including Coral House. It is impossible to have a 100th birthday celebration since Emmeline is in and out of hospital. Repeated attempts to get a refund or to talk with someone about the situation has been avoided or ignored by Coral House officials.BE AWARE EVERYONE THIS MAY BE YOU NEXT.
I had my daughters wedding there Friday night...it was absolutely perfect! Our banquet manager Frank looked out for our interests as if he were a family friend. His suggestions were excellent. As the mother of the bride, I was a wreck, but our maitre d, Victoria, handled everything to perfection. All our guests raved about the food and the whole experience. For the cocktail hour one of our stations was the southern barbeque. What a hit! Mac and cheese, fried chicken and pulled pork at a wedding! Everyone was blown away! I cant say enough nice things about this place! Thanks to Frank, Victoria, and the efficient and courteous staff!
Because of COVID-19 my family was not able to have our event-100th Birthday Function for our grandma. Coral House is refusing to refund our deposit and answer us despite repeated emails to the corporate headquarters and CEO. These people are very unprofessional and disrespectful.
My family and I found Coral House to have people who work there to be racist. We went there for Thanksgiving where they had a white woman dressed in a cheap halloween costume of a Native American with a feather headband doing face painting for children. Considering that millions of Native American people were killed or forcefully removed from our land, myself and my family found this incredibly offensive, racist, and ignorant. I confronted the manager, who was surrounded by several employees, who stated that its just a part of the activities for the children. When I explained that its offensive, she insisted its just for the kids. I continued to state that regardless, its very offensive. She eventually said that they hear my complaint and will do something about it. This, however, did not seem genuine and seemed like they just wanted me to leave them alone. They never apologized and no other employee said anything. Also, when my wife and I got up from our table (other family members were still seated) to go to the bathroom before we leave, one of the waitresses chased after us (we had walked maybe 20 ft) and yelled you havent paid for your drink bill! We were incredibly embarrassed and stated that our family should still be at the table and we hadnt received a bill. The woman loudly insisted that our family had also left the table and we needed to pay at the bar. We immediately apologized and my wife went to the bar and paid.
I had my 60th birthday party here and it was a fantasy from beginning to the end. Everything was perfect and I am VERY fussy!!! I am a food snob and Orlando (head chef) out did himself. Everything from the delicious hors doeuvres (including salmon bites, coconut shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, mini beef Wellingtons, etc) to the ice cream bar, were all of exceptional quality. Everything on the buffet was moist , hot and fully stocked till my guests were full. Andrew, the maitre d could not of been any better. He was on top of everything and every need. The view from the room overlooking the lake was beautiful, as was the way the room was decorated by Frank & Andrew. Linda set up everything, including all requests by me and they were all for-filled .This was a once in a lifetime splurge for me and I am sure glad that I picked the Coral House. Every day, one of my guests call or text me with such positive reviews of their experience that night. If you want to celebrate anything, do not hesitate, book it now, before your date is taken. This is the place were your dreams can and will come true!!!!!

So disappointed with the Coral House!I attended their New Years Eve Gala with my husband. We had a great time. The next day my husband realized they gave him the wrong coat. (he just grabbed it and ran to the car). He returned the coat the next day. His coat wasnt there. For several weeks he checked in, nothing. Finally he was referred to The Dover Group office (their corporate). After many unreturned calls, Brittney finally responded Sorry nothing we can do! So we are out a $150 coat that he has since replaced!Being a local resident I have patronized and supported many events there, even having my 50th Birthday celebration there. Truly disappointed!!!👎
I am both shocked and appalled by the actions of this establishment during the current pandemic on the handling of BARBOUR NASH 100th BIRTHDAY PARTY.This business has severed all communications with the NASH family after a refund was requested due to the venue canceling the date of the 100th Birthday party of NASH BARBOUR which was scheduled during the current pandemic (COVID-19). All avenues have been taken to communicate privately with this business including, calls, email, certified mail and etc and they have not had the courtesy to responded despite our many efforts. It is pretty outrageous, unprofessional, heartless and cold for a business to engage in such practices as they have during a time when the nation and this family are dealing with something as serious as a pandemic.Having a birthday party was a great idea prior to the current pandemic (which is when this idea was birthed and a down payment was made) but now it would be pretty foolish to have a birthday party where a large number of people would gather and put a person that is 100 years old with underlying medical conditions at great risk. In this time when the future is so uncertain and families are being laid off from jobs and the money the are holding hostage could be used to assist in towards the care and health of a person 100 years old it is outright murderous for a business not to have any intentions of returning monies paid.I appeal to the hearts of others reading this to consider the kind of people you are handing your money over to before making a decision you use the services of this business who have treated this family in this way during a time of personal and national crisis....and to the establishment, I implore you to do the right thing. Please reach out to the NASH BARBOUR family and return the monies paid. There is still time to do the right thing.
Was in the wedding party there this weekend. The service was absolutely horrible to start the night. The head waiter or whoever he was lied to all of our faces like we were stupid. Thank god for Dominic and Racheal stepping in a making the rest of the night go smooth. As for the guys at the front door, the were rude and looked like your typical mafia d*ckbag. He actually got into the tough guy routine with some of the guests. As a guest I do not recommend this place unless the entire staff is like Dominic and Rachael. The were the only 2 that seemed to have any pride in what they were doing and most definitely the only two that had any integrity when interacting with the guests. If you dont mind being lied too and treated like second class then this is the place for you. I dont ask for much but 2 things I wont tolerate is being lied too and having staff play tough guy with because I call him out in his lie.
Horrible Business! My family paid thousands of dollars down for a 100th birthday party for my grandma, which was to take place two months ago. We’ve been trying to communicate and make arrangements with coral house since months before our event was scheduled to take place. Due to COVID-19 the party was cancelled and Coral House has stopped all communications with my family. No returned calls or answered emails. We aren’t at liberty to reschedule the party. God blessed my grandma to live 100yrs and we don’t know what the future holds. Now more than ever, we don’t want to expose her to hundreds of people. No one knows when COVID-19 will be over. The lack of respect and poor customer service received by the coral house staff is beyond ridiculous. Corporate won’t respond. The CEO of Dover Group won’t respond. Covid-19 doesn’t excuse your unethical business practices! You are thieves! We will go to the media and we will take legal action!
NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! - BEWARE!!!!We had a suprise party at this place and not only was the food/service EH at its best. the owner is an arrogent conman- wannabe gangster (yes its actually quite funny) he does not know/care about what happend and will be unavailable if/when a problem arises (as we did) - short and simple; - dont waste your hard-earned money like i did, please do not make the same mistake. go somewhere that will value your business & care for the best interests of your guests. this place did not. and we will not be returning ever again.
While it may have been over a decade since Ive been to this place Im sure it hasnt gotten any better since the last time I was there. I dont know where to begin with this dump but Ill say that if youre expecting the Coral House to be the best place to have your wedding reception think again. Theres no valet parking you have to cross the street to park your car, and the intersection that youre trying to get across is very busy tons of cars fly by all day so proceed with caution with that. The waiters that work there have some attitude, and they wont help you if you need assistance locating where certain rooms are in the Coral House. I remember the day of my sisters wedding I was seperated from my family for a while, so I went upstairs to find where my family was thinking they were in one of the rooms. Turns out some other family was occupying the room and my family had one of the rooms in the back of the place not the front, the waiter who worked there just stood there gawking at me but didnt tell me that was where I needed to be. Youd think the people who work there wouldve passed that information onto me but no! No one helped me at all! After I was reunited with my sister, I found out from her the rest of my family was in one of the rooms in the back. That was the biggest inconvenience I had to deal with from this place but it certainly wasnt the last! I had to sample their food after all of that, I ordered a chicken platter because it was one of the few things on the menu that I would enjoy, well I couldnt enjoy that either. What happened was they put some melted cheese inside my chicken, which was absolutely disgusting to look at. It looked like what would happen when you have an overwhelming amount of ear wax coming out of your ear it was that vomit inducing to look at. My brother in law traded my chicken for his steak but that was no good because he ordered his steak medium and I prefer my meat to be well done. The only good thing about the Coral House was the champagne and the wedding cake, but then again they probably didnt make the wedding cake themselves they more than likely ordered it from some bakery in town. In closing to all you fellow Yelpers out there if you are reading this, stay as far away from the Coral House as possible! I dont want your big day ruined by the inadequate, substandard service and food this place has. Believe me you can have your wedding at better places than this. The Coral House to me looked like nothing more than some seedy, low class, ghetto nightclub thats located down by the airport! Id recommend Russos on the Bay or Leonards for peoples weddings before recommending this dive.
Sunday brunch. Rather bland, ordinary, should have made it at home food regret. Lots of bread filler baskets, probably required an entire wheat field to make all that bread (not freshly baked on premise) Everything you hope would not be served was presented. I.e. Simple bow tie pasta with some broccoli rabe & oil thrown together, a dried out sliced ham, incorrectly seasoned Roast beef with aujou on the dry side. Cheap & simple. Disappointing. 2 stars are for the decor. Great view, clean, well kept, relaxing atmosphere. Employees could learn how to smile, at least on occasion. Recommend looking at the menu & save your hard earned money and cook it at home, would taste better homemade. Time for a new Chef and meal planner.
Dont believe that you can get married outside. They dont own that space. Dont believe you can get married inside. They look like a colorful be and breakfast. Elevators are claustrophobic and stairs are for those in shape with great knees. Oh, and before you go inside be prepared to cross death Blvd. Come on coral house, fix that!!
My wedding was 45 minutes late due to a prior party refusing to leave then it ended 30 minutes early. My guests had to clean up a broken glass due to no workers around, My centerpieces were switched with cheap toys then thrown out The photobooth -the worker disappeared most of the time and when he was there he was rude to my guests. I was promised the pictures from the photobooth and 4 months later no photos. several calls to this company (Laurie and Adam) no response
This place is a DUMP and it has always has been for as long ad I can remember. This place has all the ambiance and the glitter of the Titanic...... After it has sunk........ The food was cold and tasteless, and the portions were not enough to even systane a bird . I hope to hell I never have to go back there again .
Ive Been To This Venue Twice in My 26 Years On This Earth and Never Have I Seen Such Professional Courtesy From The Staff and Such Distinguished Settings Depending On Yne Different Themed BallRooms That May Suit Your Exact Needs!!!!!!!!!! I Plan On Having My Wedding Reception Here When The Day Comes...
This place is very pretty but the customer service is garbage and the staff is VERY unfair. WARNING: DONT USE THIS PLACE!!! I had my wedding there last Saturday which we spent over 20,000 for some bullshit service and now Im having a lot of regrets using them. Dont let the pretty lights fool you people.
We had our daughters wedding ,Kiana and Tim at Coral house on April 10th. 2016. It was amazing. Every thing was perfect. Thanks to Linda for working on it and also special thanks to Liz for doing such an amazing job . Liz was very patient and professional from start to the end . She always had a smile on her face which made every one calm and happy. We strongly recommend Coral House to whoever who is looking for a venue .Nasrin Karbasi
Having gone there with my big Italian Family for dinners, weddings, and reunions, this having been many, MANY years ago, the 1970s when we lived in Baldwin, NY [ and after my family moved Upstate to Newtown, CT]; Coral House used to be the place to go! However, working on the first chapter of my future novel, Lost in Baldwin, New York, from what Ive read in these reviews; the place has REALLY gone downhill, I am guessing? The last time I was there was after my Uncle Sals Funeral, sometime around 1984 and shortly after my maternal grandmother died. Oh well, much like my childhood hometown of Beautiful Baldwin, a place that still seemed well-kept up when I was last there in 2011 despite some demographical changes north of the LIRR; the Coral House has changed. Unlike Baldwin which, apparently, still ranks in the top 25th best towns; the Coral House today seems to be nothing but fluff and frills.
I have called this place 2-3xs and the receptionist keeps telling me someone will get back to me. Im disgusted I just want to secure the venue and get a look around and taste a dish for selection of my wedding Im starting to feel they dont deserve me or my fiancé money or time I will not call them again!!!

2022-03-30My sisters bridal shower was just this passed Sunday. We had it in the lakeside room over seeing the lake. It was beautiful. Malissa was the greatest she was so attentive and was on point with everything from taking care of the days and groom to be at the bar to making sure my sister was taken care of. She kept me on track for the games and when so cut the cake she was amazing. Our bartender Matt was also amazing between taking care Of the ladies I’m The room to making sure the days and fiancé had enough to drink. The two were a great duo. I definitely recommend planning an event here and request these two to help. They were such a great team. Thank you coral house for making my sister day special.

2022-03-16Coral House is a venue for special occasions such as weddings, sweet sixteen and private dinner parties. Coral House was very impressive from the decor to the food and impeccable service. Coral House went above and beyond to cater our private party and the food and service was excellent. I highly recommend this venue for your private party.

2021-10-08If you are contemplating having your special event here don’t think about it anymore and book your event at Coral House. Our wedding was September 18, 2021 after postponing a whole year due to the onset of the Covid19 pandemic. We are both essential workers and felt all the stressors of providing services for others throughout this unprecedented crisis. Our Banquet Manager, Laurie Esposito was not only professional but kind and accommodating. Her expertise shined brightly during very dark times. We are immensely grateful for all her help, recommendations and hard work to make our day so special along with all the staff at CH. Everything was absolutely beautiful from the outdoor ceremony to the reception. The servers were excellent and super accommodating to our guests. My guests can’t stop talking about how delicious the food was. Frankie and I would like to share our gratitude here for all to read. We highly recommend choosing Coral House for your special event. You can be sure that it will be unforgettable for you and your guests. In gratitude, Aracelis & Frankie Roman.

2021-07-04I had my wedding July 2, and this place was amazing. Laurie was my banquet manager and she was amazing from the start till the end. Our wedding was originally dated for October of 2020 and due to pandemic we had reschedule to July 2, 21. The staff were all friendly. The food was delicious. I regret not finishing my plate because I was full, but all my guest were telling me the venue was beautiful, the staff and food were all amazing. I will definitely recommend this place and use for future events.
