One word: Balance. We stopped in for the first time. Remarkably clean and fresh. The seating was comfortable and inviting, and the drinks were more so. The owner was delightfully obliging and accommodating for a specially requested cold tea normally served hot. Then I went back for the hot. Delicious espresso, wonderful flavors that blend together. Perfect tea. And a creamy steamer that made me realize hot drinks shouldnt be ignored just because its summer.A sweet reprieve in the chaos of 2020.
Quaint and relaxing. Clean with proper cleaning of barista tools which is always lovely to see. Got 3 drinks, iced cupcake latte, iced ginger green tea, and a cocoa steamer. Absolutely delicious. Latte wasnt too sweet and not too bitter. Great balance. And the sprinkles were the icing on the cake. Not normal sprinkles. The three drinks being incredibly enjoyable and note worthy to write home about made my day. Silly that a couple drinks could make your day but it made me so excited. Also, Trevor, who was our barista was experienced and cute. Will be coming back, definitely. I recommend it anyone visiting the area
The mocha is incredible and the brownies are a delight! The staff is friendly, courteous, and very helpful. A beautifully designed space, with delicious coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere, it is a perfect addition to Downtown Elmira. I highly recommend a visit to Elmira Tea & Coffee House.

2022-04-22I’ve been here three mornings in a row! The efficient service, beautiful furnishings (courtesy of Capabilities upholstery service, the parent company of ETCH), and yummy drinks (This cold brew is my favorite i’ve tried here. Note that I do prefer to keep my drinks simple with no cream/sugars!) have all kept me back. An added bonus is the delicious blueberry lemon muffin I had yesterday, and will probably have again today! Cheers, ETCH!

2021-04-04Barista was lovely and suggested my drink (an iced cinnamon bun latte) and it did NOT disappoint! I absolutely loved it 🥰 Plenty of seating around the cafe and street parking down the block! Overall really nice atmosphere and I hope to back again!

2020-10-12Best coffee place in Elmira. Drinks always taste amazing. Friendly staff and good COVID measures. We travel about 20 minutes just to come here.

2022-06-25What a neat place! It’s a lot bigger than I thought, open and light but cozy at the same time. Barista was a sweetheart!

2020-02-22The service was awesome. The staff was very kind, and very fast service. The cafe itself had a very homey and comforting feel to it. Even though it was nice and modern, it still had that nice feeling of being home. However I didnt get any, the food looked amazing, and they had a good selection of bottled beverages and salads. I got a small hot chocolate, and they put a little heart in it, which made my day. I cannot wait to go there again soon! ♡

2020-10-12Great place for coffee. Relaxing and they are owned by a nonprofit disability organization. The funds go back to programs and help with disabilities. Not to mention there bakery is all from local companies that support disability.

2021-04-11Its 7:30AM on a Sunday morning. I went to get my home-made cold brew to find out that we forgot to make it last night. I frantically looked online for a non-chain coffee house. Every other one that i have heard of was closed until 9AM. This was the only one open. When i got there there were more syrup types than expected i had to call my wife to get what one she actually wanted. She tried the new blueberry one and loved it. I always get straight black...and i loved the taste. I was only 1/8 into a 16oz cup before i could feel the effects. They do not dilute the coffee with putting a ton of ice in it. It is the proper amount of ice to make the drink cold, not skimp on putting less coffee than ice in it like..... ahem....Dunkin Donuts. It has a very strong flavor. The atmosphere is homey. A couch to one side and tables to the river side.We have been looking for a decent coffee house near us and finally i think i found it.

2021-10-27I have come here a few times, as I work twice a week in Elmira. The first 2 times, were good, as they use Gimme coffee for their espresso, and I like Gimme Coffee (since I live in Ithaca). The barista was friendly and made me good drinks. The last three times Ive been there its been a cluster****. There is a new (could not be new and I never ran into her) barista, who does not make for someone I would want working my coffee shop. The last three times Ive been there, Ive walked into an unmanned counter, and have had to stand waiting for 10 minutes because of whatever reason (bathroom, doing the closing procedures for the day early, etc). A cafe should never be unmanned. Not only is it a security/loss/liability issue, its unprofessional to have a customer waiting 10+ minutes to even place their order. One time when she finally strolled in she exclaimed in a frustrated/angsty manner Oh Gaawwwdd when she came in with three people now waiting to order. Now lets get into the coffee. After such a long wait, it would have been forgivable if the drink was great, but it wasnt. This one particular occasion, this person made my cold brew frappe that I ordered with caramel, without any caramel. And my wife ordered an oatmilk mocha, and she got her drink with the cup only 3/4 full, and the milk although hot had zero texture. There was also no chocolate in it . My wife isnt a Karen but she does know coffee having been a general manager for a big local coffee shop for almost a decade. The new barista seems to put more effort into her rainbow eyebrows than she does into her customer service and her coffee beverages. So although I liked this shop before, these last 3-4 times have killed it for me and I wont be coming here anymore, due to the lack of anyone behind the counter for 10+ minutes, the general attitude, and the bad (lately) drinks.Gave 2 stars, because it is a nice, clean and calming space. Very well designed and put together....but the atmosphere is only part of a good coffee shop. Customer Service and the actual drinks youre making and serving trump the vibe of your place, and thats been missing.

2021-01-17Warmly decorated and all-around beautiful and inviting ambience. Very spacious and comfortable seating. The coffee is “different” but apparently it’s just me (and my daughter), judging by the reviews. If competitive food options are offered I think this place will be around for a long time. (This is more a place to get a hot drink than fill up your belly). I love the concept of employing individuals with disabilities and hope this wonderful and deserving Elmira gem develops more keys to lasting success.
