All around great experience with this business! I was first interested in getting Solar after I had a neighbor, who also used Empire, was constantly talking about how much they loved it. I submitted an interest form and had the director of communications, Shannon, reach out she was able to answer all of my questions, and then some! She was able to connect me with those in her company who would eventually come to check out my property and see the feasibility of setting up solar panels on my house. Although in the end I had too much tree coverage to make solar a viable energy source for my house, all of my interactions with this company were pleasant, timely and I felt like they truly cared about finding the best possible energy source for me, and did not just view me as another client to make money from. 10/10 would recommend!!
I gotta say Shannon (Empire Solar quality control person) had worked really hard to uplift the companys reputation. She had advised me that the 6 month wait on the placement of the panels was due red tape from my town and I believe her as things move a little slower around here. When 2 storms hit and disabled half of my panels she was there to assure me they were on top of it. When the weather permitted she had her men there to fix the panels which are all working perfectly fine and harnessing 26k watts. Thank you Shannon job well done. Hope everything goes smoothly from here.
Before reaching out to Liz and Marc, I had no idea about what this process would be like. I had actually held off on doing it for quite a while because it all seemed intimidating and difficult. However, once Liz and Marc walked me through the process, I quickly saw how painless and easy it would be to get solar and also save money. Liz, Marc and all of the employees at Empire Solar, were professional, knowledgeable and overall very pleasant to work with. I have already recommended Empire to my neighbors and friends and will continue to do so. The turn around was very quick from the time that we met, to the time that the solar panels were installed and turned on. Throughout that entire time, Liz and the employees at Empire took care of everything and there was really nothing that I had to do. It turned out that replacing my roof was a good idea before putting on the panels and Liz and Marc made that process seamless as well. I highly recommend Empire if you are looking into solar. Even if you arent committed to doing it yet, you should at least hear about it, because a lot of what I thought I knew about solar turned out to either be incorrect or misunderstood. Id give more than 5 stars if it were possible.
We had a wonderful experience with Empire Solar! They replaced our roof and put on the panels. Communication was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole experience.
After losing power so many times over the past year with the storms that we had I started thinking of other ways to remedy this problem. After doing some research I decided to go with solar panels and eventually install a power wall. I met with several companies but Empire Solar Solutions stood out to me by far. They left a lasting impression. Some of the other companies I felt like just a number on an assembly line. My salesman Alex and rep. Gina were so personable and transparent. They led me through every step of the way and not once was I mislead. After signing up I litteraly had nothing to do on my end, they took care of everything. The process was quick and the installation was pretty fast. They had the fasted turnaround time compared to there competitors. I will recommend Empire Solar to anyone who is considering going solar.
I have had empire solar for a few weeks now all seems to be going well. So far we have been producing more electric then what we currently use. I had a few small problems an they were corrected. Shannon , noran & Kyle have been very helpful throughout the entire process.
I am very happy that I decided to go solar, after speaking to both Will and Adam who are very knowledgeable about value and effectiveness of the system. Great customer service! I received from Shannon, she was very patient and helpful.
Everything was great until I found out they put solar panels on a bad roof. After only 7 months, my roof needs to be replaced. Three roofing contractors said empire should have known the roof was bad!
Had roof replaced and 10kwh system with them, System works great. Chris, Kyle and Shannon helped guide me through the process and were professional and friendly. Although there were some issues, they addressed them and made them right.
I recently got my panels installed. From the sales rep to the installers and through customer service. It was a smooth experience. My sales rep, Christopher, he worked hard and went the extra mile to make sure I got the best rate.The installation took little to no time and Shannon from customer service helped me set up the app and went into great details explaining the ins and outs of it.Outstanding working with everyone! Shannon is responsive and love her people skill. Awesome to have her monitor my system with me.
I really love the service I am getting from Shannon she is very helpful and very polite and keeps me informed of the inverter that I need for my panels she got back to me in a timely manner and keeps me informed on my inverter I really want to say Thank You for her great service not like the service I got from here 2 years ago they never got back to me on my problem I was having with my solar panels I was very upset but now Shannon is very helpful and I am very pleased with her service . **update... Again**Well over a year, seven additional (not nine as promised) panels added. System still only produced 7.4 in 15 months instead of the 9.1 contracted rate in one year. Hole STILL in wall. Habe paid well over $4k to lawyer butnthings not getting fixed. Still having craxy CH bills. DO NOT USE EMPIRE unless you want crippling debt, a barely functioning system, and a burning heat inside you that makes you want to drive through their building bc of their awful and unethical business practices.*! *! *! UDATE TO UPDATE, MARCH 2021*!*!*! I have now had my system for almost a year. Was suppoed to generate 9.1kwhrs. Has produced 3 kwhr. After all my contract ntacts with them, for a year, all the owner Mark was doing was threatening me via emails. I contacted and paid a lawyer over $1500 to force then to fulfill their signed and legally binding contract After our lawyers came together and theirs let them know we are in a contract that they are breeching, Adam, the other owner, came to my house after two months of negotiations. Promised the world and the moon to make it right. He told me he was putting nine more panels up, would fix the whole they left in my interior wall during initial instal and clean up after themselves. FFirst of all, how nine will fix the 2/3 the extra power my panels are not producing is unfathomable since there are already over 20 panels only producong 3 kwhr. Seems you would need WAY more than nine. The workers came when promised. However, whole in my house is still there and now I have a pile of garbage they left in my droveway that the town wont take bc its considered construction material. They also dragged mud all over my newly powereashed walk. I have texted numerous times with no response and left messages with no response. So do not deal with this company unless you have endless pockets to pay lawyers. ****UPDATE:: Marc saw this and immediately contacted me to tell me it was slanderous. Stating that it was a bold faced lie that I said my electricity went up 7.5x. With that he is correct and for that, and that only, I will change it. My electricity went up 3.5x with NO change to anything. Which, in and of itself shows there is a problem with the system. He also stated that he refuses to do anything to fix the mistake he made over eight months ago, that I have been contacting them about numerous times telling them there an issue, until I delete this review. I stand by my remarks that Marc has awful customer service. I wish i read all the bad reviews before I spent arpund $40k*****Awful customer service. Takes forever to respond. Double talks and promises you the world then doesnt stand behind their product. My electronic bill is more than seven times higher than it was without solar panels plus the $135 a month solar loan bill. Instead of taking responsibility that something is clearly wrong with the system, Marc is trying to blame my electric car that i havent charged at my home is over two months. Btw, I didnt have electric charges that were this astronomical the forst three months I had my electric car but now, all of a sudden its higher.... Yet niether Empire nor CH are taking responsibility
Working with Liz and Marc was great! We really understood the whole process and they were so informative. We are saving so much money and helping the environment at the same time. The installation process was so easy. They take care of everything. Whenever we have a question, Liz always answers quickly. Getting solar with Empire Solar was one of the best things we have done to our house!
Shannon is efficient, pleasant, and knowledgeable. She really cares about Empire Solar Solution costumers. She is a the best in my book. I can recommend her enough. We are very happy that we finally found a company that could install panels on our 80’s style roof and optimize output. The installation was seamless and the team was very particular how the panels and equipment was installed. You sometimes can’t tell I have panels. The customer service is definitely a plus as you’re treated like a VIP client. I will definitely be referring friends and family to Empire Solar.
After years Empire Solar has installed the system on my roof, my system is still NOT on at the moment. Then why I am giving out 4 stars, here is the reason:Years ago, the team of Empire Solar came to my house, installed the system, my city has given them a very hard time, both in the waiting time of the inspection and giving out their OK. Empire Solar had to alter whatever the inspector has asked, and wait for the inspection again... this time one of the inverters malfunctioned, and after so many of the technicians coming and going, I didnt even know who I should speak to, who is responsible for getting my system going anymore, all the work has been done from different technicians, were all into separate pieces, very hard to tell whos work, whos the responsibility... Finally the key person, Shannon has picked up the messiness and is determined to go through whatever it needs at the moment, getting my system on for my home. I could see, and firmly believe she is the real value for this company. Whoever owns this company should know this and treasure her work there, because all the guys going out to work, and all that are the pieces here and there, the work needs a person who could thread it all together, Shannon is doing the exact that, walking me through step by step, making me try to get the systems screen on at 9 PM with a torchlight in the snow, puting the paperwork together to get the approval we need. To be very hounest, Shannon is the reason I am writing this review, and she wins the 4 stars back for Empire Solar.Customer in Jersey City
As a nurse I work long and late hours and I just want to say that the staff could not be more accommodating to my hectic schedule! They have gone as far as to even give me their personal number so I can call/text within the times that work best for me. I couldn’t imagine any company going above and beyond to that extent. My mom and I have decided to move and during this stressful process I was told “not to worry, we’ll take care of everything” A perfect ending to a great experience. It is bitter sweet leaving, wondering if we will have that same kind of hospitality where we move.
Will Wemmer is a fantastic representative for Empire Solar Solutions. He explained the solar panel installation procedures from A-Z. He answered every question me and my wife had and there were plenty. So far the process has been Flawless. Will update further upon completion of project. Thanks again Will👍
Had solar installed a year ago. Up to now it’s been smooth sailing. But then I noticed power generation had not been showing on my mobile dashboard for over a week. I called and a very helpful person named Shannon confirmed that power was still being generated, and there just seemed to be a comms error with reporting the data back to the dashboard. She walked me through a reboot of the inverter and now all is good. Thanks Shannon.

Aside from signing the contract the entire process with Empire Solar was a nightmare. Two months after signing the contract, I had to reach out to them to schedule the appointment for installation. They scheduled the installation and then proceeded to push the installation back several times without notifying me which caused me to have to take an entire week off of work and having to navigate each day unsure if they were coming to install. They finally started on the project only after I threatened to cancel the contract. Their workers showed up and worked less than 3 hrs. On day 1 they left after 3 hrs because their scheduling manager gave them another assignment for the same day. On day 2 no one showed up until I called asking when they were coming at which time 2 people showed up. One day 3, the manager promised to complete the install but the workers left claiming it was raining when it never rained that day. On Day 4, the installers attempted to leave because of mist and claimed they left the day before due to “lack of materials” but the manager made them stay. However, they changed the initial design to make it easier for them. They chose to install 11 panels on the Northwest side of my house when those panels fit on the Southeast side (the side with the most sun exposure). They did this in order to avoid the extra work of navigating around the skylight. When I called this to the attention of the sales rep and the customer service rep they both told me to give it some time to see. I am trying to give it time, but all signs are pointing toward them installing those 11 panels in the least productive side of my house instead of the most productive side of my house.My level of frustration with this company is beyond as it has literally been one problem after the other with their Scheduling Manager (Nat) being almost impossible to deal with.I did receive a wonderful call from the owner (Adam) apologizing for the constant changes, lack of communication and organization. However, I just want this project which I am spending a lot of money on done correctly. I shouldn’t have to be the project/site manager of a construction project in my home when I am paying a company to do so. Additionally, I want the most out of the product and product placement not what is most convenient for them.
Empire Solar needs to improve on customer service. we had a system installed in the summer of 2019. the system made my roof leak. The leak wasnt fixed until the summer of 2020 only after a negative Facebook review. Now in the summer of 2021 my system is not making power supposedly to a faulty inverter. My system isnt monitored as was stated to me by the salesman and I have no idea when my system will be back in service. I contacted Eric with customer service and asked what Empire Solar is willing to do about my electric bill and have had no contact with him since my message. Im extremely disappointed with this company and the service (or lack of) they provide. Our system was approximately 40k and we still have an electric bill. I definitely do not recommend this company.
After careful thought and due diligence we chose to move forward with Liz and Empire Solar. So far very happy that we chose them! Liz was absolutely awesome answering all our questions and following up on every part of the process from beginning to end. The install team was very good and efficient. Although the original plan was not possible. Keith (install lead) went over options with us and we were able to come up with a very good alternative that was aesthetically pleasing. So happy we went solar and made the right choice of who to trust to complete the job!! Lots of Thanks to Liz, Mark and the team for making it one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done to our home!!
I called several solar companies. Will from Empire quickly distinguished himself with his responsiveness. The first time he came to our house he had already done research on our location and created a preliminary plan. Then he answered all of our questions—there were a lot—about the system, future capacity based on house upgrades, roofing, financing, everything. This is a big investment, so we took our time and asked more questions. Will was thoughtful, honest and patient. We signed up and the installers worked through snow storms to put a beautiful system on our house. We just got approved for operation and we’re cooking with solar! We’re paying less per month than we were paying the utility, and it feels good to know we are doing our part to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. I highly recommend Empire.
I recently went through the process of installing solar on my home and used Empire Solar. The process was so easy and everything was completed in a timely manner. My sales consultant Chris was great! He provided me with all the info I needed and answered any questions I had throughout the entire process. The install team was also very professional and pleasant to deal with. I definitely recommend using this company for your own solar install.
Like everyone else, we wanted to go solar but were skeptical about the pros, cons, and who to use. There are so many solar companies out there, but non like Empire. They easily answered our questions, showed us on paper, what our cost would be and the benefits. They left no question unanswered. They install was quick, the guys respected our property and polite. Mike, Gina, Mark- they took such great care of us. It’s been almost three years and STILL no electric bill. Please don’t hesitate to get rid of your electric bill. You won’t regret calling Empire just to get some questions answered.
Liz and staff are so great to work with. They explained the process well. Everything was processed so quickly. Not much effort on our part. Liz and staff took care of everything. I dealt with few other solar companies before dealing with Empire solar. Liz was great to deal with, very informative and gave me the best deal. Took care of all the administrative work in a timely manner. One of the best solar companies around. Dont sign any deal with anyone till you talk to Empire solar(Liz).
Dont trust Empire Solar, my installation has been completed for over 60 days and the power has yet to be switch over to solar. It is almost impossible to talk to anyone at Empire Solar so do not ever expect you calls or texts to be returned. Empire Solar did not complete the switch to solar and when I call the electric company, I was told that all the paper work and fees have not even been paid. Empire Solar will steal your money and not complete their job. Dont trust Empire Solar, all they want is your money, they do not care what happens afterwards. The project is not complete until you are able to start using solar power.
Would easily recommend to any home owner that wants to explore using Solar. They made the process as seamless and easy as possible. They did all the paperwork, filing with the town for permits and the like. All you need to do make sure it makes sense for you financially, agree to it and maybe talk to your neighbors. The staff are also personable and professional.Timelines could be faster, but Im not even sure that is a thing they could help.

After a lengthy search for a solar company I settled with this company mainly because of salesman Alex. He was able to answer all my questions with real ease. This showed me that he knew what he was talking about. On top of this the company was able to provide me with the products I was asking for. Alex went out of his way to make it work for me. He even contacted his bosses numerous times in order to get me what I needed. He also helped me deal with the financial companies. On top of all this Alex carried himself to be very professional, thorough and friendly. In addition to Alex I was also please with the installation process. I would like to also add that Edwin was great during and after this process keeping me updated and making sure all was good until the power was turned on. Extremely happy I went with Empire Solar.

Can I add more stars!?I had the pleasure of working with Liz and Marc Zurla from beginning to end on my solar install. I always had the intention of going solar and there was no better time than summer of this year (after a referral from a friend of mine). I had put the request out for bid to a few companies and the personal touches by Liz and Marc were second to none. As part of any business transaction, one of the more important aspects I look for is the relationship. There was never the feeling that any of this was a sales pitch by Liz or Marc. They came prepared to my first meeting, answered every question and never pressured me into any decision. They were always supportive and not pushy. They even were able to get me an amazing rate and loan. I am now in my second month since PTO and already generating monthly credits. I just received my first $0 electric bill in October (short days!!!).Liz has become a personal friend to my wife and I (and even found us the most amazing babysitter for my kids!!!). No other solar company can do that ;)I would recommend Empire Solar to anyone looking to go with a solar system for their home. Dont think twice when making this decision. So far have had a great experience working with Nore and the empire solar team working on our project! Nore from the start was very helpful and knowledgeable about the product and process and gave us options for us to chose what worked best for us! He was great and kept in touch with us giving updates while waiting for our city to approve us to go solar! He was awesome. Our install went well and so excited to be part of the solar community.

Empire Solar Solutions has made this the best decision I have made in my adult life. All the reasons to go solar are self explanatory, however all the reasons to go solar with EMPIRE may not be. Their team walked me through every single step of this process and they were very deliberate in explaining each phase of the process so I never felt like I was waiting in the dark. Unlike Tesla and other companies that I contacted for this process, Empire never allowed any of my questions to go unanswered..... and I had A LOT of questions. Working with empire solar was a great experience. Nore and Gina were wonderful! Within a few weeks of meeting with Nore, I had my solar panels installed and turned on. They are knowledgable and honest. I am looking forward generating my own electricity and eliminating my electric bill
Dealing with Empire Solar was a great experience for me as a new home owner. They sent a representative, Chris, to my home and he was able to answer every question I had. Chris was very knowledgeable about the panels I would get and everyone I dealt with at Empire were very professional up to and including after my panels were installed. Gina was awesome to work with as well as the tree company which they used to remove trees and increase sun on panels. The guys that installed the panels also did a great job. Kept everything pretty tucked in so nothing stands out...looks great! Can’t wait to make lots of electric this summer. lol
I have nothing to say but great things for this company. Any time that I have an issue or question Im always help fully and promptly by their tech support. Their tech Shannon is well versus in all issues that I have presented her, and always solves any technical issues that I might have.

Empire Solar has been amazing. I live in Greenwich, CT in a hundred-year-old brick home on a prominent street and was concerned about the look of the installation, because as we all know, curb-appeal is quite valuable; especially where property values are as high as they are. All-in-all, the installation is beautiful and even the town inspector was impressed by the quality of the electrical work. Even though I do not live in the Empire State, Empire came through for a Nutmegger from CT. They took care of the financing and the State rebates without any hiccups. I would not hesitate to recommend the company to friends and family.

Saw the add for solar panels with no money down on youtube, And decided to fill in the information and see what happens. About 5 minutes later I got a call. The gentleman on the other line so he was from Empire solar and if I just filled out some information about solar. I said yes and he said he can get a salesman out to me tomorrow this was September 23rd salesman came out the next day. The salesman that came out to us to talk to us about anything and everything about solar, his name is Will. This salesman is very knowledgeable of the business he is in. We picked his brain from left to right with questions, day or night he would answer my questions. We signed a contract on the 27th and on the 12th of October they were at my house installing solar panels, they look great. They were all professional answered all my questions, and even cleaned up after they were done. If youre looking for a company to do your solar panels this is the company to do it. our salesman will was extremely knowledgeable and professional and attentive I showed us he will be there from start to finish and even after were up and running. A job well done guys and thank you cant wait to save some money.

My sales rep was amazing with answering any qustions I had and very knowledgeable about everything. Solar panels were install fairly quick and the installation crew was quick, efficient and answered any questions I may have had. Communication with the office has been somewhat difficult, however it has been improving. Overall I have had a good experience with the company and I am very happy with my panels.
The sale and installation were incredible. They came by told me what they were going to do and for the most part they did it. The install went smoothly no problems. My first half months bill was interesting. My usage went down considerably. My next full months bill was just an ORU service charge. I love my system. The tree just went down now Im excited to see the next bill. I have already told 2 of my friends about Empire and I will be looking to tell more in the near future. 2 thumbs up to Empire.

From the beginning with Mike Kusmanns initial visit and follow ups to the pricing to the speed the job started and when it was completed, the thoroughness to do everything we asked. Adam, Marc and Matt were also key in making sure everything was perfect. They are all fantastic and I am glad we went with them. Other companies cost more and gave less while these guys gave us superior panels and are also able to do the roof! We got everything in one stop and it made it so much easier from our side to keep up with. We already are seeing massive savings in our Con Ed bill and are loving keeping our money in our pockets...ha! I would tell anyone considering solar to move forward with it and go with Empire Solar, youll sleep better knowing they have everything under control and you wont ever have to worry about a thing. We went with Empire Solar Solutions after a very thorough presentation by Nore Rodriguez. After reviewing our electric bills and looking at our metal roof, he was able to determine the size system we needed to cover the supply we use. The ESS group handled all permits and requests for access to the grid for Con Edison. Within three weeks, all permits and approvals were granted, A few weeks later the panels were installed and a few weeks after that the system was turned on. So within nine weeks we were up and running and feeding the grid. We are basically just paying the basic service charges now as we hoped.I highly recommend Empire Solutions. The electricians and panel installers were very professional and worked well together. They were able to get all 13 panels installed in half a day and cleaned up all the debris.

I just had ESS complete a solar project for our home and I couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. We worked with Mike to help design a system that would exceed our energy demands while saving us money over our current electric bill. In the process I was able to upgrade our oil fired water heater to a hybrid electric unit which would reduce our fuel oil consumption saving us further money over the monthly savings of switching over to solar. I looked around at multiple installers and decided to go with Empire Solar. The proposal seemed the most honest and straightforward. No lease documents or anything. The install took about 3 weeks, which apparently is pretty fast for the industry. It looks fantastic on my roof and the entire company did a really great job from start to finish. Very pleased!

So here we go again - system 2 years old and has stopped producing any power. Two weeks after first contact still no word on when a technician will come to check the system. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. If you are considering solar find someone else.Horrible communication. Following installation our roof has multiple leaks. Response has been slow while we have water coming into our attic with every rainfall. Find another dealer if you are looking for solar. Would give zero stars if able.

The team was fantastic at explaining everything and laying out all pros and cons of going solar. Very east to talk to and understanding of our initial hesitation. They were also super helpful with getting permits sorted with the city of Poughkeepsie, which was a bit of a nightmare and have taken care of us in regards to covering billing discrepancies due to the late setup as a result of the permit issue. The worst company to work with when they install my system they did told me that my system it will cover my need and that I will be saving more power .but after one year from installing the unit my electric bills never get that low and I have been paying more than $300 all the winter.and for the last 3 months my system been down.they told me they will repair my system.I’m waiting for more than one month and no one give me a call.and I been trying to call them but no answer

Installation went well and works fine, I am on second year and it does not cover all electric costs, I may be using more than usual though, but about a month ago my app stopped working, I have called quite a few times in last few weeks, I keep being told there working on it, but nothing is getting done, I just hope I dont have a bigger problem, if they cant fix something small, I would hate to see how they handle a major problem UPDATE, it took almost 2 months but problem is fixed, once they got started it went quick, problem was getting them started, but I am happy now

2021-12-21After doing some research and spending some sleepless nights, we decided to make the investment to put solar on our house. Chris and Kyle explained the process clearly and thoroughly. We had to re-shingle our old roof first; they took care of everything and the roofing and solar install teams were professional, quick, and left my house like they were never here. I cannot recommend them enough. Just an amazing team of good people with a transparent, honest business. Cant ask for more.

I was in the loop of everything what was going on while waiting before the solar panels were granted permission to work. I also replaced the roof with them and it looks fabulous right now. And one more thing: it is cool that there is an app that you can monitor how the panels are working and how much energy they produce. 2021-11-24We signed with Taylor on September 8, 2021 from that day till we became fully operational this past Monday they have all been so friendly, professional and helpful. Taylor is an amazing salesman. He explained everything from nuts to bolts. Shannon is awesome she responds immediately or as soon she can. She feels like family. Going solar was always a conversation but after Taylor’s presentation it is now are reality. Our installers Awesome, professional and cleaned up. 2022-05-19Empire installed 70 panels on my house and garage apartment in 2018. There are 7 people living here. Chris from Empire was GREAT - he was not pushy, explained everything, how the tax incentive works, and even dealt with our extremely difficult and unorganized Town Building Dept! Our bills BEFORE panels where outrageous! The last two years, we have SAVED over $4000 in electric bills - EACH YEAR! I have flat roofs, so Jan/Feb - if I cant get the snow off, the bill can go up to $700 between the two houses(we use some space heaters when its really cold). But as soon as it melts, my bills go down to $20/month - the hook up fee to the grid. Summertime can go up a bit if air conditioners are running, but even those are only around $100. BEST DECISION we ever made - we are VERY HAPPY with our solar panels!As for the price of the panels - we got great tax deductions, and the monthly cost is still LESS then what we paid for electric before panels.
