Eveready Diner in other cities:
First time customer. The mozzarella sticks were more like mozzarella slices. They were cooked perfectly and were delicious. The burger I ordered was tasty and so filling. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. I would give her five stars alone.Edit: came a second time. Even better. I originally made a comment about the hosts, but it might have been an off night. Came during the rush of Sunday early afternoon crowd, and miraculously was seated quickly. The waiter was fast and the food came out even faster. Sharing the nachos was more than enough for a meal. Will have to remember that next time.
WOW .... this place went down the toilet.Asked for a booth (with plenty available) and was seated at a crusty table in the back. Took way too long to get service, like we were forgotten back there. Then the waiter told us hed get to us in a minute as soon as he retrieves hot sauce for someone. Annoyed, we left!!! .... Never going back.P.S. ... The bathrooms need cleaning and they should spend some of the profits repairing the torn and cracking seats.
The server we had was awesome. He was the best part of our lunch. My daughters chicken fingers were just wrong. They were rubber and tasted like fish. We’re they frozen and then refried in the same oil as someone’s fish lunch? That’s was it seemed like, but they were very rubbery. My cheeseburger was really thin and also had a funny taste to it. Almost sour , hopefully I don’t get sick, I only ate half of it because cause of the cost and I don’t like complaining. The photo is my daughters chicken fingers, which were rubber and weird .
Excellent! This place was perfect in every way! We stopped in on a Monday night, on our way home from a business trip, and we are so glad we did. Our food was delicious, there was no waiting for seats, nor was there a wait for our food to come out, coffee was on point, blue granite tabletops, seconds off the 84, a very quick off and right back on, but the very best part was our server. He was so attentive, got everything just right, made sure we had everything we needed, it was service how service should be! Thank you Tyler, you were awesome, the best part of our experience!
Been here many times, and always had a great experience. More recently, I came here with my girlfriend and we ordered mozzarella sticks and burgers. And our expectations were definitely exceeded. The service was great, the mozzarella sticks were top notch, and the burgers were cooked to our liking. I recommend this place to most people I know and Ill be back many times to come.
My experience was excellent food was amazing and or waitress Dorothy was amazing too went over and above to make sure everything was perfect and she was so pleasant would go back all the time service was great so clean and Dorothy made sure we had everything we needed went over and above to make our experience excellent would highly recommend
Great location right of 84. The service was extremely quick considering we were a large group and it was quite late I believe there 24 hours. Nice sized portions and so many varieties of fried. Curly, waffle, sweet potatoe etc, and all at no extra cost. They were very nice to push a number of tables together to accommodate us. Paying the bill was super easy and efficient since you brought the check to the front and everyone paid for their own items. I ordered a BLT with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was packed with tomatoes right I appreciated. The waitress forgot my pickle, so when I mentioned it, she brought out 4 pickels!!! Needless to say I was happy. Many choices on the menu. From breakfast to chicken and waffles to huge salads.
I wasnt too crazy about this diner. The food was decent and the staff was friendly. However, for the prices, the food was definitely missing something. The portions were great though and I did enjoy their milkshakes. The burger was okay. Maybe I would go back to try a different item on the menu.
Went here on a nice sunny day. I overheard that today was their first open since the pandemic shutdown. Facility is outdoor dining for now and the set up is a huge tent in the front parking lot thats cordoned off. The seating is mostly covered with some off to the side. I sat in the sun to get the exposure and it was a nice day with a breeze.I was quickly seated by a very energetic and friendly waitress. Ordered iced tea, burger medium well with swiss and bacon, and curly fries. Burger was juicy and delicious. The fries came with a couple of onion rings which both looked like they were oil soaked. They didnt taste like it though. The appearance may have been enhanced in the bright sunlight. (I make my own at home in an air fryer so oily fried foods are novel to me.)I overlooked all that as I needed to be out and support a closed dining establishment. In the end, all were great. As soon as the bill came, I just gave my CC. I signed and gave a very large tip to help the staff. Id like to visit again to make sure that the five stars I am rating is still well deserved.
First of all I asked for a burger with onions and mushrooms and they didn’t even put a bun on the burger!!! So disappointed then I asked for 2 cheeseburgers and they gave us NO cheese that’s annoying now I have to add regular bread to my burger with no bun 😑 1 star review never coming here again
I personally did not eat here, I sat a table with my company. I am gluten free and didnt want to chance it. I can speak for my company. They said the food was good. They put us in the back of the restaurant where there are tables. Most of the seats were ripped. We had to find chairs to sit on because some had tears so big, it would have been uncomfortable. And it was old and outdated back there. Not sure if they plan on remodeling back there but it was a big turnoff. My out of state guests were thinking about leaving when they arrived. On a good note, we ate until they were closed but they did not rush us out. The waitress gave us our food quickly and was a sweet heart. She was very attentive. I would give the waitress 5 stars.
The place is filthy. Was sat at a table where the ceiling is leaking. Dirty cutlery was on the place setting. The floors were sticky to walk on. All staff was hanging out/ on their phones. The food was subpar, the sandwiches were soggy. Even the soft drinks left much to be desired.
Have been going for a few years. Always satisfied. Lately I’ve been disappointed with the cleanliness of the diner. The entry foyer has a terrible odor and the bathrooms are really not clean at all. Wish they would get their act together since we do enjoy going there.
The decor in this place is inviting and interesting. The staff is super friendly and it was a good place to stop on a road trip. The food is average at best, if were being generous here. The coffee is the vile stuff that is usually sold at these places: cheap and kept on burners for god knows how long, until what was already pretty bad becomes undrinkable. Four stars for the ambiance and service and for the desserts that looked good.
I dont usually like newer diners but the breakfast food and the service here have won me over. Ive been a few times with family and its always delicious (esp. the Eveready Breakfast with real maple syrup, yum!). This however only holds for breakfast...lunch dishes are pretty mediocre.
Been going to Eveready for years! Food is always good for a quick bite - although lately service has been very poor. Overall Ive had good experiences here - but lately its been pretty rough. Staff seem to flirt to often and not pay attention to customers needs. I also received a fork that still had food on it 🤮 Food is good - service is poor
Excellent Diner!! Wish long island diners ran their business like this one. Very nice/friendly staff! Immaculate/clean restaurant. Stopped in for breakfast during a road trip mainly because they were the only one opened at 7am. They had a great menu selection making it hard to choose! My wife had the breakfast burrito and loved it. I had the Eveready.. really good fluffy pancakes, 2 farm fresh eggs, 2 crispy pieces of bacon and 2 delicious sausage links. Excellent choice and a ton of food. Some nice touches were asking if you want crispy or soft bacon.. crispy was perfect and not burnt/dust. The also give you a strawberry infused butter which was really good on pancakes with syrup. Definitely will route a future trip through here to come again!
This is a go to eatery if youre in that Brewster area. Not the heart of, but the edge of... accessible from the major highway. I do a lot of deliveries from here. Breakfast was indeed a good meal. Typical diner menu with a few menu exclusives. Check it out if youre in the area. In the same vicinity of Applebees but with a larger food selection.
This place was solid when it opened, but everything has gone downhill except the prices.Sure, if you want something more than an eggs/bacon/toast breakfast or a cheeseburger deluxe, you should consider this place. Their menu has some solid offerings outside (and including) the traditional diner fare. But the quality of the food and the service is very much hit-or-miss and highly unpredictable. One day, its good and on time; the next day, youre waiting 30 minutes for a piece of floppy undercooked, paper-thin bacon. Can only give it two stars since my last two experiences have been wholly underwhelming and the servers were generally apathetic. I havent yet figured out the winning day/time slot, but if I do, Ill post it.
Met family there for breakfast. Have been there many times in the past. Food was hot and delicious, it may have taken 10 mins for order to table. Portions are large, prices are fair, and the diner is spacious. My coffee cup never got cold or low, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend and will continue to meet friends and family here.
We used to love going to this place but it has recently gone downhill. We ordered food for delivery (through an app). Ordered two burgers medium well. The burgers showed up so raw we couldn’t eat them! Being so raw they leaked blood in the containers making the bun and fries mush. On the previous order we ordered a salad and added chicken, but chicken was not on salad. Had to go back to pick up my chicken, was told refunds could not be given over phone to my card. They did rectify the situation by giving me another whole salad with the chicken on it. Not going back after the raw burgers.
The staff and food was wonderful. One of the staff was on her lunch break sitting at the bar next to me and 1 of their regulars stopped and we had a wonderful conversation. I was simply passing through and hate fast food so was lucky enough to find this place. And will stop again when I come through next time period
The food was great. I sat at the bar. However, All the employees were complaining about their guests. I heard everything. One girl said “she never wanted to quit a job more in her life” OUT LOUD. With me and four other people in an earshot. Crazy. The bar wasn’t high for expectations but what a terrible experience.
I was in such a good mood for a Turkey dinner, complete with dressing, potatoes, gravy. The plate came out, heaping with food, looked delicious. The dressing tastes old, like it had been sitting in a tin pan for too long, the gravy didnt really have much flavor and was barely warm. I ate parts that I could. Wish I had said something but was too tired and the server only came by once as they were heading to a different table. I love Diners, will pass on this one. 😥
Great diner good coffee and strong I like my coffee hot so this coffee is hot 3A omelette is stuffed one of the biggest Ive had I just wish they had a meat lovers omelette with all three meats I had the Greek omelette that just had bacon in it wish it had the other meets in it I go to restaurants a lot theyre home fries are one of the best Ive ever had as I said before great diner I hope they had a meat lovers omelet to it
Great diner! Portions are generous at a reasonable price. The kitchen and wait staff can hustle through very busy weekend crowds with ease. Peak times, (Sat/Sunday breakfast) are mobbed and you may need to wait, but thats totally on customers dawdling and nothing to do with the staff. I watch closely because nothing turns me off more than having to wait for service because the staff is on their phones.
Food was good, menu very diverse, staff was friendly and service was fast. This restaurant was featured on Food Network and the billboard caught my eye from the highway. Would have rated it higher but the floor in the entire restaurant (which is very large), was so filthy and sticky and the bathroom was very unkempt... not just from unsanitary customers but thick coats of dust on the walls in the stalls. Makes me wonder about the sanitary conditions of the kitchen. They really need to clean up their act.
Great overall experience. The place was clean. Service was quick and friendly. I had the Parmesan chicken salad, with fresh mozzarella cheese - delicious. My husband had the gyro, not the best he had but ok. The meat was thinking, no lettuce or cucumbers in it. The waitress was quick with soda refill, without being asked. Only fault, some staff were gathered on other side of the both talking loudly. But it could have been another customer.
I ordered on DoorDash, my cheesecake was moldy, and not just a little bit. It was disgusting!!!!🤬🤮🤢When I called them and asked for my money back they offered me a free dessert, needless to say I will never be ordering again!.I tried posting a picture above because you can’t attach to the review.
We didnt even get a chance to eat. After standing waiting to be seated which seemed for eternity, we were finally acknowledged. Only to be told someone we see us. There were no signs of where to go. We were passed by several workers that never even looked at us.Finally we we were told we could set where we wanted to. At least 15 minutes went by no one came over to our table. It was getting late so we left. Waiters were serving other tables and coming back around asking them how everything was. But no one acknowledged us .Super poor service. We called and complained to the manager on duty. He appligisied saying 2 people called out. But that doesnt explain how we were treated and ignored.
Rubber chicken, watery ranch, lemon tiramisu, and violent food poisoning.2 stars was wildly generous and only pertain to the atmosphere, portion size, and swift food prep; although making the chicken too quickly is likely what made me sick.I’d never been here so I tried a staple: chicken tenders and fries. I also got a piece of tiramisu because I try it in every restaurant I go to. I ordered takeout from the counter and paid $42 (plus $2 for the girl who took the order.)I asked for extra ranch as well. The food was ready quickly and there are some fun crane games in the entrance. But the chicken was hard like rubber, every bite like a chewy tendon. The ranch was like water and tasted like nothing, so I’m not too disappointed that she forgot to include the extra. My boyfriend got a burrito which was huge and he said pretty good. The dessert was my least favorite part of this meal, including the food poisoning I got later. I’ve had hundreds of tiramisu in 5 countries and 7 states- and I can definitely say this is the worst tiramisu I’ve ever had. It had lemon in it, and I know the existence of lemon tiramisu, but it’s normally labeled or has lemon zest on top. This was 100% espresso tiramisu, it just seems like someone screwed up the filling and didn’t even soak the lady fingers so it was dry as hell.A few hours later, I’m on my hands and knees in front of the toilet, expelling all the delights that Eveready had to offer. I hadn’t eaten anything else so there is no possibility that this was anything other than poor hygiene in the kitchen.Maybe it was a fluke. Maybe you should try it yourself. But I would recommend skepticism and not ordering poultry. I won’t be revisiting.
June 30, 2020. My husband and I stopped there (we’ve been there before), for lunch. The ladies room was not clean. Water around sinks and soap dispenser was off the wall. At our seat, I noticed food stain on side of table. They have condiments out that anyone can use. Then the best part, a booth emptied out, the busboy goes over, cleans the table with his dirty old rag, no disinfectant, and he didn’t clean the condiments. The food was good, but this place is too much of a risk for COVID-19. They need to clean their act up.
This is our first time here and we are very pleased with the food. We came late, 1030pm, but the food still tasted fresh. My husband got a bacon, egg and cheese hamburger. The burger was thick and juicy and the egg cooked perfectly. I got chicken parm. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was tasty. I liked that there wasnt too much sauce. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our only complaint would be that the prices seem a smidge higher than average. We will be back and would recommend this diner. Thank you!
Its a diner. Extensive menu, covers every option. Service was fast and efficient. The gyros were acceptable. Weve eaten there many times and it fits the bill for a quick bite while running errands. My one major criticism was that the leverage lemonade tasted like it was from ac powered mix, grainy and chemically tasting, not good.
I stopped here on a whim for lunch. To say I was impressed is an understatement! My server, Jasmine, was professional and exceededed excellent and appropriately attentive. The food is spectacular. The portions are worth the money (which by no means break the bank!). I highly recommend Eveready Diner as a must to anyone looking for a good breakfast/lunch/dinner at a reasonable price
2 stars is a stretch.. i ordered the $17 crab hash and what was presented was not what the menu described. 2 deep fried crab cakes topped with decent eggs and flavorless hollandaise sauce. This was served on top of home fries that were large hunks of undercooked potato with large slabs of onion. Waiter was nice but screwed up our order. Really not worth the money spent. Want a great diner in Brewster? Go to Bobs!
Make sure youre aware that they change the menu at 11. What are breakfast specials are not specials after 11. Coffee that is normally free will cost $2.50 each. Been there many times and never new it. Got there at 11:10 paid at 11:45. When I why I was charged for coffee thats when I found out about the 2 menu trick.
Haven’t been here in a long time and wow it’s gone down hill! First I noticed there weren’t many customers. The place was filthy! The floor, the windows on the kitchen doors and the bathrooms. We sat at the big round table outside the kitchen doors... sat there 2 minutes and noticed water dripping from the air vent above the table...the water was on the floor and I assumed the staff would be concerned about someone falling . When pointed out to the waiter he said “. Yeah they should do something about that” . We placed napkins on the floor to clean up the water. The food .... not good ... not much taste ... the decaf coffee was very old . Carrot cake dry around the edges... old and gross frosting. Also we sat with dirty dishes for about 20 mins before anyone came to the table . Meanwhile there were staff milling around , joking , eating , yelling in kitchen . I will never return here ! Such a shame! Do yourself a big favor and steer clear of this place!!
Our experience with our waitress at this restaurant was so appalling that it over shadowed the mediocre food and the other staff who were civil to us. Our waitress simply refused to wait on us, clearly finding to distasteful to be in the vicinity of our table. 4 women traveling home from a conference, we had to get our own silverware, find someone for our bill, she couldn’t make eye contact while at our table, and while we stood paying for our bill was off to the side laughing at us. Management were not even astonished at her behavior and mumbled an “I’m sorry for your server’s behavior” while not making eye contact, nor could she give a reason for the behavior. I am shocked she was given the latitude to behave as she did and perhaps would behave differently if she ever experienced that lack of respect towards herself.MY ADVICE-GO TO THE SHINY DINER-the food is better, decor better and they are far more pleasant.
This place is one of the best diners that Ive ever been to. I had the Chevy Nova Omlette it was amazing. The menu is huge and diverse. The wait staff was also friendly and efficient, it seemed like no time at all to take our order and get it to the table. When my job brings me back to the area I will be coming back.
Wait a minute. If you want a really good diner experience go here and start out with a chocolate shake and get the Disco Fries. You will not be disappointed. The staff is cool, the only reason I didnt give it five stars is because sometimes the roof leaks when its raining
Its a dinner. Not any more exciting than any other Diner. They make burgers fries just about everything that all of the diners make. I just so happen to be in the area and stop there. Im glad to see that it was clean well-maintained nice people but again just a diner. If Im ever in the area again would I stop there and eat of course I would.
Everything at Eveready was not all that great. The fries were barely warm on both the hot plates. The lettuce on the burger was 1 big limp soggy leaf of lettuce with brown lines running thru it. A side of avocado for my salad, consisted of four ~ 1/8 inch slices ~ costing me an extra $2.99. I complained about it so the waitress asked if I wanted more. She brought out 6 more thin slices...I was thinking she was making up for the skimpiness from before. NOPE ...A total of $5.98 I had to pay for the Avocado. I spoke to the manager and got nowhere. What a rip off...the food was not even good. Im not going back.
Update to my previous review. Went there this evening. My husband and I both got the mushroom cheese burgers. The quality of meat was disgusting. We both could taste the disgusting fat and horrible quality of the meat. Both of us came home and got sick. The waitress never even came back to see how things were. Just came back to drop off the check. We will never, ever return.
The staff is always pleasant and eager to make the best out of what is given. The food is hit or miss and at times nothing to rave about. Grill closes at designated time of the evening so most of the menu is not available. The water is absolutely disgusting and having gone there multiple times over a year I now bring my own drink with me. Due to the water issue the soda, teas, and lemonade all have that hard water taste. The place is clean and atmosphere is very family friendly but in order to make me recommend this place please fix the water.
Chop steak was very well done (asked for medium), the sweet tea was terrible (tasted sour), the lemonade tasted watered down. Food prices are quite high for a diner. Food was very bland (no seasoning). They were also very stingy with the gravy too. The floor underneath our table was littered. My wife has worked in food service (cook & management) for over 30 years and this is not how to run a Diner. I would not recommend this establishment.
Ive been here a number of times. Service is great but food slipping over the past few years. Turkey club had little turkey. Home fries were burned(black and crunchy), my sons chicken fingers were pulled about 5 seconds from being burned. Will be looking for a new diner.
Visit Date :March 10, 2018Server: Mr. Mark (5/5 Star Staff Rating)Overall:The Diner in itself is a very amazing place, 10/10 I will make a return to this place.:Miscellaneous:I didnt experience a long waiting time, the staff were very friendly to each other.:Atmosphere:The restaurant had a very retro feel to it. It felt like I was in a 80s themed diner. The Cooking Channel was on and they played classic musc.:Service:The food was served rather quick, and in large quantities (Talk about a bang for your buck, they arent pricey at all) We got the pre-side dish and the soup/salad rather early, and it was less than 20 Min. until the main course was served. They constantly checked on us in a non-nagging way and was very happy to answer any questions, and we got refills on the house!:Meal:The food was cooked Beyond Exceptionally Well (5/5) and I have to say I am personally blown away by the flavours and textures. My soup was the Shrimp version, and it was smooth and buttery, the flavour was amazingMy order was the Chicken Pot Pie meal, with meat, veggies, gravy and mashed potatoes!!!! The veggies was crunchy, with the sauce blending in perfectly. I didnt expect the chicken to taste the way it did, but nitpicking aside, I loved it.Due to popular demand(at the time), They only had cheesecake plain left. (Mark) gave us Berry Sauce with the cake for us to share, which was very nice to him! I hope he reads to acknowledge how kind and respectful he was to us!:Summary:Eveready Diner is an amazing place to eat at any given time of the day, with great meals, service and environment!!!! I recommend this place to anyone AND everyone, if you have the time and funds! Based on my experience, you wont regret it!
This diner is relatively new, which probably accounts for its bright appearance. Ive eaten breakfast there a number of times and like it very much. As stated, the place is clean. The staff is friendly and when the manager asked how things were, I really believed she meant it. The prices seem in-line with any other diner Ive been to. The food comes out before your first cup is done. What else do you want?
I’ve had a couple of good experiences here when they first opened and that is why this isn’t a one star. Sadly it’s getting worse at this place. The last three times I have ordered from this place the food was either wrong or the bread was STALE. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and got a plain cheeseburger, the bun was stale and last time my wife’s order was like the girl at the front was not even paying attention. I would say this to you. Either go somewhere else or be prepared to eat freezer burned meat or stale bread. Sorry this place has gotten worse.
Your typical diner with sticky floors, delicious food and miserable waitress who didn’t want to do her job. She was so terrible at her job that she assumed we’ve been there before and knew the menu front and back. Ordered pancakes no butter or syrup. Ordered coffee no creamer or milk. Literally has to ask for every single thing. She wouldn’t even come close to the table to check on us. We are a fun bunch. 3 generations just trying to enjoy breakfast together. You lose two stars cause your waitress was terrible. You lose one star because no one ever cleaned the floors in the back room, I almost broke my neck walking because my flip flop kept getting stuck. Note to ownership (if you care at all) we witnessed other staff members who genuinely cared about your customers even the bus boys cared.
Food was very good, portions fair for the price. Service was friendly, a little preoccupied with loudly talking about the apparent fibbing of an absent wait staff involving illness, Mexico, swimming, and a doctors note. Didnt mind as much because of the juicy gossip.
Took 2 young children, placed order immediately. After 40 minutes, asked the server when our pancakes, burger, and sandwich would arrive. He blamed the busy kitchen and had them out in 7 minutes. As we waited 47 minutes for our meal, others were seated, served, and got their bill (obviously was not a back-up in the kitchen). When I mentioned the long, inconvenient wait to the front desk, they didnt even so much as apologize. Our server should have been honest and said he forgot to put it in (we could see the 40 minute time lag on the receipt!), or the restaurant should have at least apologized for the very poor service. Food was usual diner fare, oddly dark lighting. Due to service, cannot recommend.
Maureen has to be the worst server on the planet. Obviously she does not know what it means to work in the service industry because her personality, down to the core, is ROTTEN! Today I said, “Hi, How are you?” after not coming in for a while, and all I got was the “death stare,”...really? What happened to customer service? Some people do not belong in the restaurant world and she is the poster CHILD. If you come to Eveready in Brewster, ask for anyone else but her. Other than that, the food is always fantastic and the service (minus a few people) is impeccable. Shout out to Al Cassar for always hooking me up! Lastly, I’ll say to ownership: can the people who bring negative energy to your establishment. I promise your sales will increase tenfold, as a result. @MaureenEnnabe
This is one of those new, very large, very shiny diners which have been popping up all over the (wider) tri-state area. As expected, the menu is extensive (theres something for everyone) and portions are large. Everything was fine and, unlike at some businesses in this genre, not really overpriced. Service was generically friendly, competent, and just a tad slow. (Dont expect frequent drink refills.)Bottom line: a perfectly fine pit stop for travelers, but probably not worth a large detour.
Decent diner, was pretty busy when I arrived. Food is a bit overpriced. Guess when you order the dinner its an option for the bread. Hmmmmmmm but I have to say the egg chocolate drink I got was really good, side note the salt and pepper shakers need to be cleaned, was grossed out every time I used them. Im sorry for such a low rating its the little things and my counter space was never cleaned off from the last customer. I dined sat may 11 around 630 7, ordered the chicken and biscuits oh the canned mushrooms a nice touch to the meal. Ill probably not come here again was driving thru to get back home in Rhode island.
The I reason why I come back is for one reason alone. Milkshakes. The milkshakes here are nice and thick as a shake should be. Good classic choices like strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, malted etc. Food comes out on a platter and its diner food. Not the best but decent. My advice though, get breakfast food. The only way you can wreck it is if you burn it. Kids get their meals served to them in a cute convertible car container. The lunch/dinner items are bland at best. Service usually busy as there is always a wait for a table. Thats normal and if you dont like it then I suggest another diner. This place is nice and swanky 50s feel diner.
Stopped on our way from PA to RI. Food was amazing, we got pecan pancakes and regular egg sausage toast home fries breakfast. The sausage was the best Ive ever had in a diner and pancakes were perfect with real maple syrup. When we were done I wanted to take my coffee with me for the road (it was just half a cup and was mostly cold at this point) they brought us two to go cups and filled them both with fresh coffee. Great service great food very clean
We really enjoyed our experience and the food was delicious. Onion rings with BBQ sauce was out of this world. My banana, chocolate chip pancakes were fluffy and delicious. My wife had the portobello panini with fries. We highly recommend this place. Service and atmosphere are stellar.
The food was good - although my French dip was a bit dry (thankful for the au jus). Our waitress put our appetizer in at the same time as our meals (she did apologize for it). Although our waitress was perfectly nice she wasnt very friendly or personable. In fact she seemed completely uninterested in our table. She never checked on us for refills and when flagged down and asked she forgot my husbands coffee refill repeatedly. We loved this diner 2 years ago when we stopped on our way home from a family wedding in New England. This year we vacationed at Cape Cod and looked forward to stopping once again on our trip home. You could say we drove 1000 miles to eat at your diner. 😉Two years ago we gave it 5 stars... This year, sadly I can only give 3. I do hope to stop again someday but Im not sure I would plan my route home to do it like we did this trip.
Its very convenient because there isnt many food choices in that shopping center. Its fairly recent construction, so it seems modern. Their theme is very kitschy 60s influenced diner. All the menu items have some kind of nickname for them. I get their corned beef hash with eggs. They call it Corny Hash. They have a huge selection of meals, shakes, treats, and espresso drinks. Its a real diner with breakfast all day. Beyond that, the place is often not completely cleaned. The food is IMHO mediocre, but breakfast is good. Coffee is lame. The staff is average.
I honestly dont remember diners being this nice on the inside, or having such good food. They have an extensive menu that they handle very well -- the entrees are fresh and very colorful. The interior is probably the nicest diner space youve ever seen, down to the little jukeboxes at your table. Service is friendly and prompt, and decked out in uniform. Its worth a visit if you happen to be in the neighborhood.
I went there to pick up a order and I had to use the bathroom and I slipped in the hall way part I am 15 years old I was soaked In water the manager or owner never apologized the food was terrible after all that they forgot things it was a safety hazard I hurt my back really bad there was no wet floor sign this place is terrible It was better In 2014 when I first went here If anyone one agrees with me please comment on this comment
We stop here for breakfast on our way to Delaware Water Gap KOA campground. Great place to stop while towing an RV. Close to the highway and plenty of parking. Service was friendly and quick. The food was good and served hot. We stopped there on our way home later in the week.
Huge problem with flies and ants at this diner which makes you wonder about the overall cleanliness of the place; I think they are resting in the laurels of the Hyde Park location - food is super average although the pork chops are tasty. We came one Sat night around 9pm to get them and were told that the sauté chef had gone home so we could only order from the sandwich menu - huh??? How are you open until midnight and can’t serve your full menu? Won’t be going back any time soon ...
Decent diner food, with large portions, and friendly staff. My only major complaint would be the taste of their drinks. Im assuming it is poor quality city water used for fountain drinks, because all 3 of us noticed a gross chemical taste to all of our beverages. The Dr.Pepper tasted like something that ran out of a chemical spill. If you order a water, make sure it is bottled! My open faced turkey sandwich was good, but needed more gravy, and my companions were pleased with their burgers and typical breakfast food. Overall, not bad for a quick bite on a long trip, but the food just seemed like it was missing something. Our server was great, and I found it amusing to find rap, rock, and hip hop on the tableside juke box, rather than the usual classic oldies.
Today was the first time I actually ate at this diner. I had ordered a chicken pot pie. The waiter told me it was unconventional. I thought about that for a brief second and went ahead and ordered it anyway. It was unconventional! The chicken was on top of the crust that was on the bottom and the the cream was on top along with bread. It was really big that I couldnt finish all of it. I have to find a location when I get back to the city! There was so many choices on the menu.I ordered my favorite drink Chocolate Egg Cream! It was good.I like this particular diner it had flat screen TVs and the Yankees were playing. They even had a bar and there was another flat screen! Wonder what the other locations look like?I really need to do some searching when I get back to the Qns!
Great Diner nestled at the entrance to a shopping plaza. Not quite as easy to find as their billboards make it seem. Want you there however it becomes your standard diner. Excellent selection of foods and all categories including breakfast salads and Greek fare. Will happily return on another occasion.
So unfortunately I have to give them even 1 star. Lets start with the fact that the online prices do not match what you pay when you pick up your food. I let that slide hoping the food was as good as reviews and let me tell you the buffalo chicken tenders I ordered were so disgusting I dont think a starving dog would eat them. For $11 I got 5 soggy chewy ligament filled sticks they call chicken. No dipping sauce no fries just a few carrots that were dry and shriveled up. Will most definitely not be going back.
An adequate to good diner.... Eveready wins out in the choice of where to go sometimes because its easy and there is a wide selection of food. My wife can get her reuben sandwich and I can get my salad; both were good. I stole a few of her fries and and thought they were better than the fries at most places.
I am a over-the-road truck driver and I was just passing through the area Google mapping somewhere to eat. This fine Place popped up being a beard to be in the shopping center so I had plenty of room to park my tractor trailer. Place is extremely clean and the staff is extraordinary really well-trained and polite. They have a very large menu that accommodates pretty much anyones wallet from PB&J for like $3 2 steak shrimp crab cakes. I highly recommend if youre in the area or if you are a local too frequent this little gem of a diner as often as possible!

2021-12-31Excellent orange juice, possibly the best Ive ever had. Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly to my taste. The frittered French toast looked delightful and my daughter said the waffles were amazing.

2022-02-10Our go to diner whenever we’re in the area. Good amounts of convenient parking. Wait staff can be spotty though. Some are good while others are neglectful and do things like seat you next to the restrooms in an near empty diner. Some of the dishes are outstanding like the fried chicken, fries and pasta meals. Chocolate cake is outstanding also. The only thing I’ve ever hated was their pot pie. Chef has a weird take on pot pie…looks and taste like an over salted plate of vomit.

2021-12-25Red velvet chocolate chip pancakes are an absolute must. Tasted like cake for breakfast. Good burger and chicken and waffles. A lot of chicken with the waffle and the chicken was bone in fyi. Good prices and friendly staff. Would come back. Just think they should make the chicken boneless with the waffle because you have to pick the chicken off the bone to eat it with the waffle which is a little bit of an inconvenience but the chicken was cooked very well and tasted crunchy which paired good with the soft waffle.

2022-01-21I was very disappointed with the outcome of my order this evening. I am retired food industry worker who has worked at all levels of the industry. So i am heartbroken to see the decline in service, quality and acknowledgment of poor food preparation and delivery.I ordered a BLT and had to remove the lettuce. The lettuce is supposed to be the last thing you add to the sandwich and should not be wilted and brown.I took chance and ordered the seafood antipasto. The lesson is mine to learn. The seafood was covered in a opaque film. The shrimp did taste okay- but the scallops were definitely not good- they had a distinct “ foul” odor and sour taste- i did not venture past and had to throw out the entire salad.I also ordered mac and cheese bites and received a side of mac and cheese instead. Oh well i though people make mistakes- but again i tased it and so did my husband( as i thought i was going crazy) the cheese tasted rancid. Maybe they use a three cheese approach- but it still should not taste that way.Thew the whole thing out again. Overall the only good part was my husbands burger was awesome and he enjoyed it very much.Sufficed to say i spent of over 60.00 dollars for a meal for my family- wasted most of it, but lesson learned.Unfortunately i will never order from this establishment in the future. I did call to share my experience: and although the young woman was apologetic; she seemed indifferent.

2022-05-08Atmosphere, extensive menu and service have always been excellent. Great selection of salads. I don’t live in NY anymore, but enjoy dinning here when passing through on 84 or visiting my parents in Somers. Just an overall friendly environment and always leave satisfied with a full belly!!

2022-06-06A classic Diner, everything was up to par and the famous malted waffle 🧇 was absolutely delicious. Waitstaff was delightful, and Ed was a sight to see. Cant wait to be back again, and wish I lived closer. Enjoy your visit!

2022-03-19So, I had high expectations. The place was pretty busy. They have enormous plates. Very attentative waitstaff. I unfortunately ordered the chicken pot pie. Ive never gotten something so far from comfort food when ordering a pot pie. It was practically inedible, and I took 90% of it home for my dog since he has no expectations of chicken pot pie. My moms Ruben was delicious as was my grandmothers omelet. I also enjoyed the Pea Soup that came with my meal. Just please, please, please, dont waste 18$ on a disgusting pot pie.

2022-04-09Stopped here rather than our favorite Indian restaurant for time considerations. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Food was good, but not worth the delays. Hope they can staff back up, as weve enjoyed dining here in the past.
