I think this place is probably great for special events and showings, but a little less organized for a regular movie night. We went to see a double feature and the movie kept pausing like it was buffering. It took probably an hour of this happening before they did anything about it, even though I did mention it to an employee earlier. They then turned it off to reset the movie (good!) and didnt communicate that with anyone (less good- thought the whole setup was down) then fast forwarded to before the spot in the movie where we left off. This had to happen twice. Im bummed because Id never been to a drive in and was happy to support a small business doing something unique, but it was a bit of a bust. The people who went to see Rocky Horror seemed to be having a blast. If theyre doing an event like that next time Im in the area, Ill give it another try.
Amazing place to go to. Highly recommend... My battery died and they quickly got a car up and jumped my car. Staff is great! Only thing I would say is to advise ppl on how to keep their car on for the show, have not gone to a drive-in in 25 years (when I didnt drive) I didnt know what to do and that may have caused my battery to die... Nonetheless thats on me and not the them. Also made me realize 80s movies were eye opening... 16 candles... Dang
The audio is inexcusably terrible. i had to mess around with my car stereo eq to tune out the static and i could barely hear it without cranking the volume. lack of intermission between the two features was pretty irritating as well... what if i need to use the bathroom, get a snack, or just stretch my legs?
LOVE having drive-in back! Hope everything works well for the owner so it can stay open for years to come. Havent been able to to go as much as I would like to go but I dont really go out to the movies that much but local drive-in is the way to go. Hope to go soon as I can again. Went out with my whole family seen 2 great movies for cheaper than one movie at the mall. Its a great place to go with the whole family or friends.
Pretty pricy but NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES ALLOWED AND NO COOKING! Ridiculous, ive never been to a drive in without being able to bring a grill or cooler. If the tickets were a reasonable price id understand but expensive tickets and extremely expensive concession stand makes it hard to spend less than $100 on a movie night
Drive in has always been fun. Glad its available since the movie theaters are still shut down. They have great customer service and its pretty clean. Bathrooms are open with soap and sanitizer available. Only 2 stalls open for social distancing but they are clean. They have been playing old school movies but its definitely something different to do and enjoy the outdoors. If you want to sit outside, bring beach chairs or whatever chairs youd like to be confortable. You can also just bring something to sit on the grass, roll down the windows, put up the volume in the car and enjoy your show. Dont forget your blanket or sweaters. And BUG SPRAY is a must!
Staff is friendly, but their web page could improve. This is the only site that doesnt provide you with direct information on what they are showing. You have to go to their blogs to get that information. Other, local drive-in theaters have that information directly on their page.
It was alright. What I didnt like was the fact that people were complaining about those who had their trunk open because they couldnt see. I had to sit my children on the ground while the other people were sitting comfortably in the back of their pickups. Ended up durning my car around and watching it from inside of my car. Plus, another thing I didnt like was that bugs were out of control that night. So if you go, take some bug spray because they will est you alive.
This establishment is absolutely horrid. The staff don’t wear masks and gave me attitude. The chicken was COLD, the candy was melted, and the popcorn tasted like it went through the Pacific Ocean. There were cars lights on all night, and I definitely won’t be returning.
If you have infants or kids that you know wont stay still or quiet, this is definitely the place for you. If you want to have an different experience from being at a theater, this place is for you. You also habe the freedom to do what you like without getting in someone way. They offer fresh popcorn as well as other snacks and food such as candy, hotdog, fries, burgers, soda, water etc. Pricing is superb and affordable. Overall is a great experience for couples and family.
So glad to have this drive in. Worth the drive for the friendliest staff and great food. Affordable, varied and fresh and tasty. Even the popcorn is fresh. So many items to choose, pick a few and share. Priced affordably for an enjoyable visit. Lets ALL keep this gem of an establishment in business for years to come.🏆
Great Concession Stand and Wonderful Staff. Everything was affordable and good quality. Considering how expensive it is to go to the movies, this is the best deal going.I havent been to a Drive In since getting my license and I forgot to put my key in the correct position and killed my battery. The owner came over and jumped my car and told me if I had any other problems he would be there the rest of the evening. He made a really embarrassing situation better and I was glad to get to see the rest of the movie. Im definitely going back soon.
Love the concept and wish more people would take advantage of such a great thing to do with families, friends, couples. However I would have given 5 stats BUT because not enough people showed the second movie was not an option. They wouldnt play it. I was very disappointed. My husband and I DID have a great date night regardless of them not playing the second movie. Great place!
The Fair Oaks Drive In is a throw back to the days when the Drive was the social meeting spot for families on the weekend. They have plenty of parking spots, for good viewing of the screen. The concession stand has plenty of goodies like popcorn and hot dogs and the prices are reasonable, unlike conventional movie theaters. Typically they show to movies a night, one family film and later a more adult film. Its a fun family activity for a summer night.
I love, love, love this drive-in!!!!Family friendlyStaff is very helpfulMy battery died & they came right over to give me a jump.Food is fresh & decent selection and you cant beat the prices. Its a great night out with the family, without having to take out a loan lolIf you havent been there yet, I strongly recommend it!!!
Really wonderful concept- great location, good screen quality and fantastic popcorn- the only reason Im dinging any stars is I had this super Weird experience where I went up for a film festival and whoever was in charge at the theatre that night pulled the plug half way through screening. Who does this? Why? Needless to say I hope this was a one time bad decision of one individual that wont be repeated on the part of the theatre because Id love to give this Drive-In another shot.
Open Friday and Saturday nights in the summer, you can go a fine American drive-in. There are two screens with movies showing simultaneously. If the weather is really good (and should you go to a drive-in if it isnt?) most people seem to bring folding chairs, and a portable FM radio / boom box for the audio. You pay per-person, rather than per-carload, so if youre low on cash, you can hide your friends in the trunk to save money! Ha ha. Just kidding. Buy the tickets and support one of the few drive-ins that are still around!Great fun for children. Might be the only time in their life that they ever experience a drive-in..
The Fair Oaks Drive In is once again this season 2016 being operated by the Mege family. The long time operators who ran the theater for 23 years. Its better than ever. Crisp clear bright projection on the GIANT outdoor screen.2 films for only 9.00. The food is absolutely delicious. Freshly made cheeseburgers juicy and delicious with crispy hot golden brown french fries. Crispy on the outside and delicious and fluffy on the inside. The popcorn is hot and fresh. Everything is very reasonably priced at the concession stand actually a real bargain, when you factor in the high quality of everything they have. The staff is always very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure that youre 100% satisfied. You will absolutely LOVE seeing 2 films out under the stars. On the GIANT outdoor screen. Fact its one of the biggest screens in the entire United States of America. 130 feet high by 52 feet wide.So definitely make the trip from wherever you are in the tri-state area. Youll go back again and again
So decided to bring my family to see a movie and some women desides to complain about how close I parked to her. So she had 2 teenage boys come out to tell me to move. But other cars were parked close together. But Im the 9ne that had to move. This sucks and its discrimination. Everyone should be treated equally. IV been coming here for 13 years with my family and have I ever been treated so wrongly.
I was so happy when Fair Oaks Drive-In opened again. However, my happiness was crushed when I bite into the food. I didnt think it would be like the old food, but still the food was a great disappointment. Also, the new movies that were released were being played on the small screen. This small screen also needed to be fix up. Another problem was when I was watching Ant-Man the movie skipped at random times a few seconds ahead. Sometimes this didnt matter that much, but when it happened at an important conversation it was a problem. I hate to say this, but I guess I will be going to Warwick for now on. I miss the old Fair-Oaks Drive-In :(

2022-06-25The prices went up. Not just the price of admission, but the price of the food really was hiked. We went to see the new Jurassic Park Dominion, followed by the new Top Gun,which was excellent by the way. We walked away spending way more for food than we have ever experienced before. $100.00 for a drive in movie that used be affordable for for the average Joe and his family. It used to be fair pricing for both the movie enjoyment and and fair price for the food. Times have certainly changed I suppose. We had a nice time, not saying me didnt, but we drove home with a much lighter wallet than we expected. I have always loved the drive in in fair oaks, but this year it seems to have definitely changed. The drive in used to be a place where u could take your significant other or family and feel like you had a truly enjoyable experience and it didnt break your wallet. I dont know how others feel, but this time it literally felt like they were taking people for all they can affordable. Next time I go, and I will, because I do love the drive in, I will go knowing that it it is no longer an affordable experience for a family just making ends meet. I hope they see that people cant always afford a movie theater, and maybe contemplate lowering the prices a little for those that want to have a night out with their family. All families should be able to go to the drive in and not feel stressed about the money they have to shell out. It should be an experience where all can attend and all can afford, within reason.

2022-06-17Wonderful Drive-In movie theater. They offer a very wide selection of cooked food, snacks, candy, beverages, and delicious popcorn of course! They have restrooms, accept both cash & card, and even allow you to buy tickets ahead of time online. The staff is wonderful and welcoming.

2022-06-15So many great memories here growing up. Quickly became my favorite places to go during the pandemic as we could unwind and watch a movie while still socially distancing. Surprisingly has great food as well at very reasonable prices

2022-06-12Love going to the drive in love the 30.00 car price but truly need to think the screens need an upgrade or cut the brush in front of the screens down. Otherwise fair oaks drive-in holds tons of memories for me. Ive been going there since childhood and now my grandchildren share the outdoor movie experience with me.

2022-06-20If you have small children and/or are pregnant this probably isnt the place for you. They allow smoking on the premises and practically everyone is chain smoking the entire double feature movie.

2020-08-22Great drive in theatre! Felt bigger and flatter than Warwick, but it may have been because it wasnt very busy on a Wednesday night. I brought a citronella incense and it worked really well to keep the bugs away from my area. Currently playing older movies since nothing new is out, but they have a great line up of double features. Restrooms were clean and lots of food and drink options (certainly not the healthiest of options though). Didnt see any food besides popcorn or candy that would work for dietary restrictions (gluten free, vegan, etc).

2020-08-11Awesome nostslgic drive in. Really brings you back to the old days of metal speakers on windows! Now just tune a radio. Like Fair Oaks far more than Warwick.

2021-10-11Gotta say this isnt my favorite Drive in. The people are nice enough and the screens are big but the picture pixelated a number of times and the parking field was very muddy and our car got stuck! The snack bar was OK, about what you would expect. But the reason I like going to drive ins is to sit outside and watch movies and The Fair Oaks is very close to Rt 17 and you can hear the traffic wizzing by.... One star for being a drive in, one star for nice people and one star for making the new Bond film a double feature with Austin Powers!
