After many years of picking up chips of brick from our deteriorating chimney we finally decided to get it repaired. Felgemacher came to the rescue and did a fantastic job of restoring our chimney! I highly recommend them for your masonry projects.

Previous homeowners unfortunately did not take care of the chimney on a property I purchased last year. I hired Felgemacher to rebuild the chimney from the roofline up, and to repoint areas below the roofline where mortar had been displaced. I also had them install an energy efficient damper, and had a new cap formed with a drip edge. This work got my chimney from buckled and about to fall over, back to wood burning status. I also had them put in a new liner in the flue that leads to the basement and reconnected my boiler to vent through the chimney instead of the side of the house (not a high efficiency unit). These guys know what they are doing! Doug is an excellent rep who is incredibly responsive and knowledgable. The technicians were all professional and responsive, obliging all my questions. I asked a lot of questions…Thanks guys. Felgemacher was number three of my three estimates and they blew the competition out of the water as far as their approach to identifying and fixing my issues. Remember, you get what you pay for, and as Tom Silva from TOH says, “the money’s in the details”. Great family owned business that has my business for life.

Quality of work appears to be very good. Kyle (Mason) communicated very well with me when he ran into additional issues. Theyre not the cheapest in town but i think in this case you get what you pay for.

Felgemacher did a lot of work on my chimney and I couldnt be happier with everything. From the office staff answering all my questions and keeping me informed to the masons who worked at my home the entire experience was wonderful. Fireplace cleaning, inspection, new flue liners (in both furnace and fireplace), crown and tuck point, etc.. The workers were respectful of my home, did an excellent job, cleaned up and paid attention to all the small details that you want when you hire a contractor. They spent days in and out of my home which can be nerve wracking but they made it comfortable by being professional and courteous. Thanks to JP, Patrick, Alex, Kyle, Sal and Lisa for all you did. I recommend Felgemacher for any and all chimney needs.

Im not happy with how my chimney looks. There was work that was incomplete. Joints cut in but not repointed, bricks that we broke and not replaced, and the chimney was sealed before the bricks were cleaned. Now there is streaks from the repointing above that I can not clean off. Previous work they completed at my home was done well a few years ago. This recent job was done so poorly, I will not use them again. I sent pictures of the deficiencys and have no responses.Update: After writing this review, they contacted me to fix their work, but never showed up. Also found the broken bricks they removed in the lawn.
Yes, I was extremely satisfied......COLIN called prior to his on-time arrival....we chatted and COLIN got right to work....he took off his shoes prior to coming into our house,,,,,he cleaned our chimney...replaced our chimney cap....the job was done in less than an hour.....a pleasant knowledgeable professional young man...thank you
From my first call to ask for an estimate, to the cleanup after the work was done, everyone at Felgemacher was courteous and very professional. Colin gave us a couple of options and explained the pros and cons of each one. The estimate was actually less than I expected (always a plus!). The work was scheduled when the weather was good, and the crew showed up when they said. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and they cleaned up very well (not an easy feat this time of the year!). I would recommend Felgemacher without reservation.
Would recommend them to anyone with a fireplace. Very honest about the services they offers and the timeframes when service should be performed and what to look out for as a homeowner as signs of bigger problems or signs repair is needed.
They came out and did the quote quickly and it seemed a very fair price. The gentleman who gave the quote was very knowledgeable and friendly. On the day they did the work, they communicated very well and did a great job cleaning up afterward. We’re very happy to have our chimney sealed up from the weather. Our 70 year old chimney was beginning to fall apart at the cap and needed repair. Received a quote and an estimated time frame to get the job done which ended up happening an entire month earlier than planned. Chris showed up to plan the set up and we were able to move days around to accommodate my wife having surgery. Everything went super smooth and the job came out great. Its nice to work with a company that actually does what it says its going to do.

These guys came when they said they would, explained what they were doing, what the inspection results were, and advised future actions that were appropriate to the results. The tools were modern, the process was quick and clean and I was left feeling secure that my chimney inspection and cleaning was thorough, and that my fireplace was safe to use.Over all great experience. I needed an assessment of my 80 year old fireplace and chimney. This was done very professionally, using a remote camera whose observations were displayed on a screen plus the technician’s observation. This was capped off with a thorough discussion of my options. Outstanding in very way.

We were very happy with the quality of work done on our chimney and fireplace. Kyle and Jamie were very professional, courteous and answered all of of questions. The project was finished sooner than we expected and they did a great job cleaning up afterwards.
We were contacted by Felgemacher very early December saying that although we were originally in their que for a about two more weeks out, they had a cancellation and wondered if they could start that day. We wholeheartedly said yes knowing that the weather could drastically change any day (we live in western NY) and potentially postpone any work until Spring. The crew was very professional, letting us know daily their progress and plan for the next day. They did a complete cleanup including hosing down the driveway, cleaning gutters even hosing off our back concrete patio in case there was debris and/or dust from the mortar mix so that it wouldnt harden/ set up. A great job done in a great manner!
I would definitely recommend Felgemacher. From the quote, the scheduling, to the actual work, I felt like they actually took the time to talk to me and discuss what my options were. They didnt force me into anything I wasnt comfortable with or into something I didnt need. They told me what was a good option for now and what could be done years down the line (which we will eventually have to with our large chimney that is on its way out). I feel very comfortable with the decisions we made and will be calling them when we need masonry and chimney work in the future - which will probably be far in the future since their work seems to be so well done.If you have chimney or other masonry work, do yourself a favor and have them come out to talk to you about the job. And then hire them.

I called Felgemacher about a fireplace and chimney in an older house that I purchased. I was not sure what needed to be done prior to using the fireplace. They were able to start the job earlier than originally scheduled. Arrived each day on time and did beautiful work. Cleaned up each day after themselves. We are very pleased with our new replacement chimney. Felgemacher comes highly recommended.
I have an older home. The chimney that existed was no longer needed as I up graded the heating system. The chimney began leaking and rather than seal it I had it removed. Felgemacher did an excellent job removing, temporarily sealing the opening and cleaning everything up. The gentlemen that worked on this were truly gentlemen! Friendly, hard working, very thorough, and communicated what they were doing and why. I give them an A+!
We didn’t quote other businesses so I can’t comment on price. However, it seemed fair. Doug came out to provide a quote within a couple days of contacting the office. We booked on the spot. We were informed it would probably be 3 months out before the work was performed. 2 weeks later we got a call saying they could come the following week! They email and text you notifications. The crew foreman called the day before just to introduce himself and confirm the appointment. They were on time, professional, friendly, and clean. Even with rain halting the work the first day they finished before the expected time. When they started the repair it was worse than initially expected so they provided a suggested path forward that was good with me. From what I can see, the work looks good! I’d recommend them.

They have repaired a number of chimneys in my now 35+ year old neighborhood the past few years. Clear and straightforward estimation and contractual process. I worked with Felgemacher to repair the chimney at my parents house. I was coordinating the work from out of town and Eric F was very accommodating of our schedule and providing a great detailed estimate. the work crew was courteous and efficient. Masonry work is very weather dependent and Felgemacher took care to work as weather permitted AND protect the work and home based on forecasted weather. They soft scheduled well in advance because their services are in high demand. Laurie the in accounting and Melissa the scheduler were great to work with even from a distance. They kept me well informed and accepted payment remotely. As a family owned business they stand by their work with a 5 year warranty. Removed an old non-functioning gas insert and returned my fireplace to wood burning. Ben was very friendly and professional. On time and communicated well. Was great with my dogs!
It was a little hard to schedule initially, but using texts helped a lot. They torn down and rebuilt my new chimney in 1 day. Then came back the next morning to finish flashing. Everything was cleaned up spotless when I returned home, very clean! Amazing job.
Everybody I interacted with was fantastic. They originally had to reschedule because one of their technicians was sick. They handled it so professionally and I was happy they were being safe and taking care of their staff too.They rescheduled very quickly and were very responsive and flexible. I appreciated it a lot.Then the rescheduled technician called beforehand to let me know when they would be there. They were on time, very professional and thorough. When they realized that I wanted to know more about the fireplace and chimney they explained things very well and showed me the inside of it. They explained very well what they were seeing and what to keep an eye out for.They cleaned everything up and left zero trace of being there (except for a very clean fireplace and chimney).I contacted 3 other companies and this was the only one to get back to me in a timely manner to schedule an appointment. They were very helpful and I will only use them from here on out.I cannot say enough good things about them and the job they did.
I had this company come clean and inspect my fireplace in the spring. They told me I had cracks up the entire chimney that needed to be repaired or I’d have a house fire. The exact words were “ it could be your next fire or your 100th fire that you have a problem.” They told me it was about $10,000 to fix but that insurance covers things like this. I called them about 5 times to see if they could talk to the insurance company like they told me they would and I never heard back from them. After calling 20 other places and telling them the situation I found a place that told me they have a lot of people calling and saying this about Felgemacher. They came and did another inspection on my fireplace and it’s completely fine and safe to use. Seems like they’re just trying to scam people into having work done.
Tom and crew were friendly, timely, and did a great job. Seemed like a fair price but I never got any other estimates. All areas of concern on the project were completed to my satisfaction.
Needed to have the chimney totally rebuilt. The chimney was taken down to the flashing and reconstructed to the existing height. I had a stainless steel flue cap, new 4 inch concrete crown with over hang. Insulation and durawall placed and now I have one beautiful, solid chimneyMy home is over 100yrs old and work was not simple. It took 5 days working in hot, humid weather and Ivan and his crew stayed with the job with no complaints .This company takes pride in their work and it shows
The crew of three arrived on time and completed the work in 1 - 1/2 days, which involved the internal flue removal (rusted), cap reconstruction, and installation of a new cap damper and pull chain. They were very polite and professional. They cleaned up when the job was finished, and left no trace. The new cap looks fantastic (see photo).

We had a rotting chimney liner and it was causing our boiler to shut down. They came quickly and replaced the liner. They were in constant contact and very informative.
This Company was Top Notch from the first inspection to them installing the last brick. Felgemacher did a wonderful job with our direct vent gas fireplace insert this past winter. They were extremely helpful when it came to educating us on the differences between styles and model and helped us to make an informed decision.Both their technicians and office staff were friendly. Everyone was very accommodating, punctual, and knowledgeable. The installation crew were meticulous about keeping the job site clean during both the fireplace prep and installation.I had worked with them previously for a chimney inspection/cleaning and capping. It was a no-brainer to go back to them for the insert installation, and Im confident I will work with them again on any future chimney/masonry needs.
Just had our chimney repaired what a Great Job!! Our house was built in 1952 and was having issues with the chimney! Other companies would just bubble gum the chimney and we were never happy with the results!! We had Felgemacher fix it and now it looks like new!! My parents had an issue with their chimney and their gas logs that required a quick repair. They called and a representative came out in a matter of hours, assessed the situation and assured my parents that they could repair what needed to be done and that it could be completed the following day. With temps dropping and with them unable to use their gas lines, this was of tremendous help. The pricing was fair, but the best part, by far, was the incredible customer service!! From the phone calls to the service calls (in the rain, on their roof, no less) was impeccable. They made my parents calm in a situation that was upsetting (no heat) and they were so pleasant, expedited the process and, true to their words, completed the repairs the following day. I would recommend them to everyone!!! Phenomenal company!! Thank you!!
I reached out to this company for a quote on chimney work on my home. After they stopped to look, I have reached out multiple times by calling their office and through their website for the final quote, and can never receive anything back. Unfortunately will be looking elsewhere.
Contacted Felgemacher to inspected and perform a cap repair on my Mothers chimney. I needed to scheduled exact dates and times as I was coming from Michigan to be present while the work was being conducted. Felgemacher performed the work to my expectation. The head repairer mason, Eric was tremendous. He immediately alleviated all my fears of damage to my roof and deck from repair of my chimney that he was going to do. He explained in detail the work to be done and that any and all debri would be removed. He did what he explained what he would do . He was courteous and a diligent worker and came on time for the 1 1/2 days he was here. The restoration and repair was super. He came and looked inside my fireplace and stated that the old cover over the chimney had no venting and in using ny gas fireplace I could be dangerous. He showed me the new cover that had venting that was going over my chimney opening. Lastly, in talking to my neighbor across the street after my chimney work gad been done, he told me he used same company for similar work last year and the work was super in the repair of his chimney.

Then I spoke with Kate and she was just as professional and as sweet as she could be. I dont know what I expected but Melvin made sure that the job was so much more. My chimney looks great!!! I had a great experience with this company! I just recently bought a house and had no idea the shape the fireplace was in so I scheduled an inspection and cleaning. They were extremely informative and told me everything I needed to know about my fireplace and showed me the camera view of the chimney. They even explained to me the importance of a cap to prevent rain from getting in my chimney and I would have never known that! All around they were a very quality and honest business. I would highly recommend!!! I will be working with them from here on out for any fireplace needs!

Awesome company, from start to finish. I called and talked to Kate in the office who set up a timely estimate, and answers all my questions regarding the timeline for the work. Eric came out and was honest about the work that needed to be done and the cost of the work. The total cost was exactly as estimated, no hidden fees or extra work that had to be done. The guys who came out were all friendly and hard working. I have no complaints, and will recommend to anyone who is looking for chimney work! I also have a chimney sweep scheduled with them, and am expecting just as good of service as before!

Felgemacher handled a (badly needed) partial reconstruction of our chimney and we are extremely happy with both the quality of work and the professionalism of the people we dealt with. They politely indulged me every time I had a question, they easily rescheduled an estimate when I had something come up, they explained the work and provided a cost saving option, and they did the job quickly and with no disturbance to our daily routines. I also appreciated the extent to which they cleaned up the area when finishing. Most importantly, based on what little I know about masonry and chimneys, the craftsmanship is terrific and I wont need to worry about our chimney again any time soon.
The work done on the chimney itself was well done. The workers were pleasant and quick. We are very happy with that part.The only issue we had is that when they put our grill back to its original location, they bent the leg, which essentially had ruined it. This is an expensive gas/ charcoal combo grill with smoke box that cost almost $300 that has been broken and Im extremely upset about and would like something done about.

Options were discussed and we never felt like we were getting a hard sell or an upsell. Very knowledgeable staff (Tim & Harry) , with a very professional atitude. They were very helpful in getting the chimney repair and brick pointing done in a timely manner. Patrick was excellent in providing an explanation as to what needed to be done to make our wood burning fireplace safe. I was very comfortable in awarding them the project. They showed up as expected and worked consistently for 3 days in what was not the most comfortable temperatures. We called to schedule with this company for a chimney cleaning and inspection and the only available slot was scheduled 2 months out. We took the appointment and we got a courtesy call to remind us of our appointment in which we quickly responded with a cancellation and hopefully a reschedule (due to covid). The receptionist, Melissa, was SO extremely rude and unprofessional! Accusing us of having the repair person show up for no reason, which we were confused about because we were calling to cancel before hand? She hung up on my husband. When I called back, to ask what the issue was, that my husband had called and received a very rude response and was hung up on, she said “he said he was your boyfriend” (not sure why that mattered in the first place) and that I would be put on a list of people that aren’t to be scheduled ever again! Yikes! With such trying times, and this awful virus, things are a little turned upside down! We gave 24 hours notice, I’m assuming that wasn’t enough, but with a sick household, a chimney appointment was the last thing on our minds! I’ve heard the work they do is great! Unfortunately we will never know due to this receptionist!! Hopefully they don’t lose anymore business due to Melissas customer service!

Felgemacher rebuilt the top of our chimney in July 2019. The price was right up there, but Im more used to prices from 30 years ago and this is a job that no homeowner could do by himself. Its costly for the scaffolding and insurance. The masons were very pleasant to have around -- quiet, personable, and hard working. They got to the site around 9 and worked all day, with hardly any breaks or stand-around time, and it was hot and the materials are heavy. Im pretty sure we got an excellent job that will last for decades, and I recommend this company strongly.
I needed chimney repair. I wad given an honest estimate of time and cost. I no longer needed the chimney so they were able to remove it within 2 days of my estimate. That was great. I highly recommend Felgemacher Masonry. They also were very prompt on coming out to see my chimney.
Part of one of our chimneys collapsed in our basement early on a Saturday AM. Thanks to Felgemachers on-call service, we were able to contact them and apprise them of our situation. Lisa responded quickly and Eric followed up by coming by to scope out the situation. Eric was able to stabilize what was left of the chimney base, and he arranged for work to start Monday AM. Work was done in a timely and professional manner, and we feel a lot more secure knowing the chimney now is probably in better shape than its been in years. A miscommunication and a billing snafu put a bit of a damper on our experience, but things were quickly set straight, and were good to go now. Would recommend Felgemacher to anyone needing chimney/masonry work!

We recently had our chimney swept and inspected by Felgemacher Masonry. Every step of the process was easy. From setting up the appointment, to when the work was done. Our technician, Patrick, was exceptional and i dont use that description very often. He explained everything he was going to do and then went into great detail about the chimney and the ways we can properly maintain it. I cant recommend them enough.

We had our crown repaired, bricks replaced, tuckpointing done, and water proofing. I was able to get an estimate within days of calling. They waited patiently while I got other estimates and decided what to do. Felgemacher’s proposal was the most comprehensive and we went with them. They were able to squeeze us in within a week and it looks great.

The technician that came was on time and showed good professionalism in inspecting the chimney and fireplace. I appreciated that he followed appropriated public health practice prevent Covid spread. He made a few recommendations for follow-up services before we used our fireplace and told us that someone would follow up with us. I am disappointed that have not heard from Fegelmacher yet, but perhaps it is a delay because of the holidays.

Job was for a chimney flue cap install. Installer was knowledgeable and friendly and performed the job in a timely manner. He took the time to explain the benefits of the new cap which I appreciated. Scheduling and payment was made extremely easy as well, and they were able to come out almost immediately after I called. They did have to reschedule on me a couple of times, only a minor inconvenience, other than that everything was perfect ! Thanks guys
Awesome experience with this company. They recently replaced my chimney on my three story home. Midway during the demo, the mason realized my chimney needed more help then estimated and needed to be taken down to the roof line. In no way did I feel i was being taken advantage of because it was still crooked with my own eyes. I told him to proceed with the promise to make it the nicest chimney in the street and they totally delivered.The crew consisted of two guys (I wish I remembered their names) and they could not have been more hardworking and respectful to myself and my home. As long as the chimney looks perfect for years to come, I will forever recommend them.I saw they do fireplaces as well, I have one with the dream to get working again. A Felgemacher masonry crew removed replaced damaged crowns from our 90-year-old houses 2 chimneys, installed a liner in one chimney that vents our hot water tanks, and replaced broken bricks on the chimneys. The chimneys are like new again. Everything was cleaned up afterward, too. Thanks to Jeff and the rest of the crew for a fantastic job. If you need chimney work Felgemacher is the company to call. I needed a multi flue cover for my Chimmney , when I contacted them they came over within 2 days for a estimate. They are very reasonable and when the installers came to measure they noticed a small problem with my chimney wall in basement and when they came back to install flue cover they also repaired the wall and only charged a few extra dollars to install some new brick. The 2 installers who were here were very professional and answered any questions I had. I would highly recommend using this company

The workers are courteous and the workmanship is good. The only thing is the company suppose to call me a week ahead to let me know when the work will begin, but they call me on Friday morning to let me know the workers will show up in that afternoon. Good thing I was home at that time.

Needed cap and tuckpointing on 50 year old chimney with original minimal cap cracked and loosening of several layers of bricks; 30 feet high needed binocs to see extent of damage. Several estimates obtained and only one guy shows up with binocs (from Felgemacher) and summarized in 15 seconds steps needed and what had to be done and cost. Due to Covid we thought maybe by September but they were able to get this relatively small job done over a weekend; cleaned up and left minimal trace with just a few crunched ferns which were densely growing all over where the scaffold went. Really polite, professional, obviously knew to bring binocs, summarize the job, estimate and complete at a fair price and did a great job (I grew up doing some masonry and know good from bad) and no significant damage on ground and really clean/neat. Would definitely recommend.

I would highly recommend this company. I needed my chimney repointed but it was in Felgemachers professional opinion- we didnt need the chimney anymore- (with our furnace/hot water vented to the side of the house!) We had our chimney removed and the roof was fixed and shingled in a timely, outstanding manner. Great to work with them. Now were chimneyless. Looks great.
We had a second damaged chimney crown removed and replaced as well asa significant portion of the old chimney above the roof-line. Also removal and replacement of several damaged bricks. As with the first chimney job, everything matched to the old bricks. The job was performed timely and very professionally. Erich Nuernberger was very knowledgeable and thorough with his work and craftmanship. We had several teams working on the project, including Saturday and Sunday. Chimney repointing, new cap install and sealing on 1962 single story brick home in Cheektowaga. Water has been entering through mortar cracks and through a large gap under the cap for many years. Thankful for the solid work by two of the best hard working, problem solving, and respectful masons in the business that will keep this home dry for years to come.

Could have had a customer for life. Instead because the job I had need at the moment was very small I received little attention. Had to follow up for two weeks to receive a quote, only to have the owner try and up sell me from a $150 job to $700. I was really disappointed. place was close to home and looked to have had good reviews.
The masons answered my questions and explained their work. Once the job was started, they worked regularly until completion. The site was cleaned up at the end of each day.

I am the president of a 134 unit condo association in Williamsville. Last October we discovered many chimney caps were deteriorating and needed repairs. I found Felgemacher Masonry to be an incredible business. After my first meeting with the owner, John Felgemacher (whose family has been in the masonry business --I figured that was a good sign), we assessed the damage to my 2 chimneys (due to aging bricks & mortar). Felgemacher poured a new cement crown and installed a custom-fabricated cap on my chimney. The rainy spring delayed the start of the job, but once the weather cooperated they finished the work quickly. Professional job at a fair price.

2022-06-21Tim and team were wonderful. We had a partially blocked flue in the middle of one of the coldest days of the season. They came out and cleaned out the flue on a windy day. Within a week or so they were able to install a liner and wrapped the chimney until early spring so no debris would fall. By early spring on a clear day, Tim was able to come out and restore the chimney. He did a beautiful job, cleaned everything, was Very professional and answered all my questions. Highly recommended!

2022-05-07My chimney actually needed full rebuild, and Felgemacher Masonry did a beautiful job. Typically, Id be like whatever; its a chimney, but it really is beautiful work! I didnt know I could be impressed by a chimney, but I am. Everyone at Felgemacher, from the office to the workers on site, were very friendly and thorough in communication. Everything was done timely, with no unexpected or hidden costs.

2022-05-06Colin at FM&C is great to work with. He took the time to talk me through what was good and what was bad about the state of my chimney. He explained all the options for repairing the brick, filling in mortar, pointing, and putting on a hip and ridge cap. With his on-site calculator, we were able to see different price-points for various options and was able to quote me an estimate on the spot. He made me feel comfortable and confident in contracting with FM&C!

2022-08-19Felgemacher came out to inspect and clean our chimney. The tech was friendly, respectful, and clearly knew his stuff. He put a camera up through our chimney, inspected, cleaned, and then showed pictures of the inside to describe the things that he noticed. Thankfully, even though its old, its still in decent shape. Unfortunately, there is a code issue (I have two fireplaces connected to one flue), but obviously its important information. Anyway, well definitely be using them every year to do another inspection/cleaning. Thanks!

2022-07-28Doug was out to our property today to inspect some concerns we had related to the chimney flue. He arrived on time (he actually called as he could arrive earlier than expected which was awesome!) was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He inspected the chimney and indicated everything was actually in proper working order and we were didn’t need to make any changes at this point. Wow! How nice to have someone who is capable and honest. If we ever have any problems in the future, I know exactly who to call. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Doug F. and his co-worker (i forgot his name) came out to look at both of my fireplaces. They were on time, professional, and cleaned up after themselves. I appreciate them running me through what they found, they even showed me video images of the cracks and how to address the issues. Also they sent me a chimney health report card.
