Fine Fare Supermarkets in other cities:
Fruits and vegetables always look fresh however I havent bought any real meat from here I do that online I like natural and organic staff always seems extremely friendly which I enjoy a lot so the place seems very inviting has a deli sells alcohol its one of the better neighborhood Grocery stores
Great selection and more variety than anywhere in the area. A little overpriced however. The deli and got food section is great. If they had more organic produce and more reasonable prices I would shop here exclusively. Junkies outside asking for a dollar aside, its a great supermarket.
So sorry that I haven’t been able to take a picture. Next time I will put up some when I get a chance. Thanks for being amazing. This place is nice. It’s could be pricey sometimes. Also sign for the free card that you get free fruits and vegetables. This card is for those who have EPT. It would be nice if everyone could get it. Ok my amazing Family stay safe and amazing. Much love⭕️❌⭕️❌
Of course you freeze your butt going in but they have everything you need. I love the prices. Its always clean and fully stocked. I only work in the neighborhood so before I head back to mine I try to buy whatever it is I need because a lot of times I cant find it in my grocery stores in the party of Brooklyn i live in.
I think it’s a nice clean supermarket where you can find many things but it’s a little to pricey I can find something I need for 2$ more then another place that would cost less. So that’s the only thing with me, I like deals and I match up prices I don’t like buying expensive things that shouldn’t be expensive I’m just saying. Lower prices down thank you 😊
I always enjoy shopping here. I never received bad service from any of the employees. There are some things that could be worked on though. The meat needs to be fresher. Some of the prices are way too much. And with so many needy people in the neighborhood I dont understand why you dont give out the hot food that didnt sell that day when you close at night.
This store is very clean, needs english speaking staff on the floor to help english speaking customers. Love that they have a butcher, good meat sales. I bought chicken gizzards managers special...smelled terrible had to wash 4 times with salt, vinegar, lime...terrible. this store is on very pricey side, but has great quality produce and great sales periodically ...
The hot food station always has fresh food. Very well seasoned and the cook or whoever he is that manages the station comes by regularly to wipe down any spills and organizes everything and refills any empty food! The produce are fresh and just generally just so pretty to look at. Can you tell i like this place!? For the neighborhood that its in they have a nice variety of brands that you would generally find in a gentrified neighborhood with of course the expected foods that reflect the neighborhood.
The supermarket just open but its very good the things are very affordable. But there is not a lot of product from different cultures. And they need more organic stuff for clean eating. Fine Fare is my favorite supermarket to buy groceries for my family and I. I have had a lot of negative experience when it comes to buying groceries. I have even walked to Western Beef to buy groceries, because of there clean and organize environment....This supermarket environment is very clean and organize this is because of the amazing staff. Hopefully this supermarket continues to provide a clean environment for the community and the groceries we buy from them. Clean environments is very important for many people it does not matter what type of place its.....I always observe the beauty of my environment. Sometimes there are things that makes you not like a place you have been , because of the conditions of the environment you have experienced when you visit that place. It could be the inside of any type of buildings or just our outside environment. This can have both a negative or a positive impact on our abilities to buy or eat at different businesses. Many people inside or outside of the Bronx really do care about our environment . Its amazing when you can fine a clean an organize environment to buy your groceries or anything else you need....
Very clean, well stocked veggies and fruits are off good quality. However , was just in there thinking its a pleasant place to shop but just then while Im at the cashier, there was a very rowdy situation coming from the upstairs office. It was a bit frightening. The supermarket is nice otherwise.
A testament to how far the neighborhood has come. This supermarket is beautifully put together, well organized and fully stocked. The staff is willing to help with any issues and always available. The market has a roof top parking area which is free to access. And of course an elevator leading to the market from the roof.
For a community supermarket in the hood, it is very high end! Signs of the times I guess with the wave of new businesses and new neighbors moving to the South Bronx. Good thing is they updated it on the high end side while managing to keep it at prices generally affordable for people of the community who have lived there for generations. The fresh food selection is excellent and there is a great variety of food for different dietary choices. Im very pleased with the way it is set up.
Disappointed. My senior citizen parents have been loyal customers of this location since it’s opening. They were coming every Wednesday to do their weekly shopping and take advantage of the senior citizen discount offered here. For the past three months they have been homebound because of covid 19 and I’ve been doing their grocery shopping for them. The friendly cashiers and grocery bagger always ask after my parents and extend the senior discount to me as I’ve been shopping for them. I have been super appreciative of the gesture as they can’t come out and every little bit they can save costs wise helps. Today I did their shopping, I asked the cashier there, a woman I didn’t recognize if she could extend the discount to me as I’m shopping for them. She looked at me as if I’m crazy and I asked to speak to the manager. The manager told me she could not and that she got in trouble for it after having done it last week. I asked to speak to her manager and she told me that person was too busy to talk to me. I asked for his name and an email. She told me she didn’t know his name.. after then blurted “Rigo”.How do you not know your bosses name? She had picked up the phone and I assume called “Rigo” and he had no time to talk to me. I’m super disappointed this is how you treat loyal customers. By the by, I dont shop here for my personal needs other than occasional things. I shop at Trader Joe’s. I did come by last Friday. Spent six dollars (!) on a bag of grapes and had to throw them away as they were sour sour sour much like the taste that has been left in my mouth by this morning’s encounter.
Definitely the best produce section in the area. I havent had much luck though with the prepackaged Meats. The chicken seems to go bad after just a day or so. But in the butcher section there is a good selection of things that you dont normally find such as pigs feet oxtail pigs neck and stuff like that.
Dirty supermarket and too pricey. Visiting from Florida and stopped in to buy a few things asked where items could be found and either they didnt know or didnt speak English and looked at me like I was crazy when I did get help said thank you and werent polite enough to say anything. Cashier by the name of Laurianny was also rude! Oh and they bag your groceries and expect a tip!! Dont they get paid a salary??
As of September 25TH this location has been charging customers for reusable bags and stating that the bag ban is in effect when in fact the ban does not take effect till October 19TH, 2020. I had notified the cashier as well as the manager that is is indeed a violation of NYS/NYC regulations as per DEC as well as the Supreme Court, and goes against the rulings. I was shrugged off when informing manager of amended rules and regulations. As a result of this injustice and pure robbery of the customers, I have called 311, DEC, and Department of Taxation and Finances and filed a formal complaints against the establishment for such disgraceful ill practices. Do not go by the fliers in which they have posted for the plastic ban has not been enacted and won’t be enacted till October 19TH, 2020. File formal complaints against these thieves, they’ll claim bans in effect and that they have no plastic bags but you’ll see there own employees exit the establishment with “Fine Fare” labeled plastics bags. I will post an image of the bill and regulations along with code for reference. Do not let them fool you, do not let this establishment ruin the neighborhood, for it seems they forgot they would not exist without the community and the funding initially of SoBro.
This situation they put me through had me feeling like it was the final straw. I feel I have to write this review.I bought 3 itemsChicken cutlets and 2 carton of eggs.I give the cashier 20$ and I should have gotten 9.38$ back . She hands me back .38 cents with my receipt. So Im waiting and wondering Ill be receiving my 9$?She attended the other customers behind me.I tell her politely you owe me 9$She ask me for my receipt. Gave it to her.She acted surprised ask me if I was sure Ive given her 20$.The whole time Im calm btw but I was extremely angry.I told her firmly to give me my money! She gave me a hard time getting my money. This place has staff that follows you around because they think you gonna steal but the irony is that they have thieves working the cash register.Like is your job that hard ?you cant count ?Why are you a cashier if you cant do simple math?Im no idiot the cashier tried to pull a fast one.Gave me a portion of my change real fast thinking I wouldnt notice the rest is missing.I advise you to go somewhere else because this place has no integrity. But if you have the unfortunate opportunity of shopping here make sure you count your change carefully.I will not be returning
My experiece is always awesome when I go to this supemarket with the exception of a Hispanic Mexican decent manager whom.is extremely rude and has a very nasty attitude! Other wise the rest of the staff is awesome! Please keep.in mine.we welcome everyone but you must be a people person to work in this neighborhood cant have a nasty attitude with a great business! Leave your personal life at home and humble yourself!
This place smells bad, I can no longer trust any of their meat!!! There has been a few occasions where we got expired meat and even got sick! Im pretty sure they lie about the experation date and that is probably why the meat section smells SO horrible!! On top of that when I went to let them know they sold me expired meat more than once I got attitude! Okay, so what do you want? A reflectionnd? (I was insanely nice, i didnt ask for my money back, just told them i wanted to inform them that I got bad meat a few times, i even apologized for inconveniencing them with my complaint!) Also its pretty pricey for the location its in! And when they have sales you always have to take a picture of the sales advertising because they usually dont have it in their system and when you tell them it was on sale and even show them a picture they get short with you and have a manager double check. But it does have what you need in a typical supermarket. They need to CHANGE something!!!!
I like it only because its easy to shop a bit pricey but if your a smart shopper you can get what you need and go. The staff there are not really nice ppl because of the way they stare at you like your on drugs or just plain stupid. Also when I ask for help they never understand English. That is a big no-no in my books . I dont say much but do observe alot.
.The Fine Fare Supermarket in the 149th Street Hub of Bronx NY is a necessary component of the local neighborhood..While this visit was limited to just several produce items and a look see as a first excursion, the layout was good, with shelves stocked with essential items that most any household might need or want..Prices were a little high in comparison to its area competition, but they do have good supplies and are easily accessible..Hot bar was okay, serving the usual buffet fare..
EXTREMELY expensive prices and low quality produce. If you are going to charge high prices for your food, make sure it is yhe best you can get. This place takes advantage of their customers by hiding prices specials under minimum purches and miniscule advertising in store. Please, shop here only if you must!
Please be aware when buying i went to buy fresh cut squash in a bowl it was rotten so then I walked to the yogurt isle to buy some kieffer forget it....it was passed dated expired and the other bottles where visibly erased . I then spoke to the person in charge of that department the mexican got uncomfortable looked at the other and treated me like i was bothering. It is disgusting to sell people rotten expired food. The neighborhood probably is not the best but it is a growing neighborhood and we are human beings. Feed that to your family. Disgusting.
The establishment sells A variety of Healthy Organic and International products, has an open Salad Bar(Where everything is covered in a temperature controlled setting, and the prices are listed by the pound, and you can weigh your item yourself,or take it to the counter and the salesperson will weigh it for you,and you get the listed price right there on the scale, its very convenient
NO Stars, need to be shut down by board of health. 311.311.311.311.311.311.March 22, 2020, all employees wearing masks, EXCEPT DELI and food preparer in deli section. Was told by employee THATS A CHANCE U HAVE TO TAKE. so they know theres possibility of CONTAMINATION but they expect customers to risk CONTAMINATION because of they negligence.
The supermarket is nice and clean..my problem has to do with the deli counter..everytime I get a sandwich from the deli, I always get a beat sandwich..4 slices of meat and 2 slices of cheese doesnt make a hero..I pay almost $7 dollars for a hero..if Im paying that much..you should fill it up!!..just because you use Boars Head doesnt give you the right to rip off the people...thats not right and not fair..people I work with say the same thing..if this continues I will make calls to corporate..Boars Head..and anyone else and report yous..please fix this problem ASAP...thank you

2022-03-17I went to get Catfood and some breakfast. The limited selection of Catfood was all I needed to see. The Deli Food is great. The breakfast is what I rated this store for.

2022-03-31This is a great grocery store. The place is clean. The service is helpful & efficient. The food is delicious & fresh, & they have a nice selection. I bought lunch there from their buffet, & sometimes I buy fresh fruit or vegetable snacks. Everything was delicious. The only downfall is that theyre in a needle-infested area & I hope that will start to change soon.

2022-07-14I come here all the time. Stephanie, the manager always helps me out when needed. Store staff are usually very nice e and helpful. Stores are always in order as well.Their buffet is delicious both cold and hot. If you drive, there is parking for the customers for up to 2 hours I believe but need at least a minimum of a $25 purchase which is not bad if you ask me.

2021-07-12Very clean and well organized. Sure, like all supermarkets a person may sometimes feel at a loss for not being able to find some of the things that they may be looking for but, thats why the workers are there. The workers make you feel at home because theyre very polite and respectful and will guide you towards the aisle and the item(s) that you may be searching for. Overall, very good place to shop and great experience for everyone.
