This was my first tattoo ever. I got it on my senior trip to New York a couple years ago. It was the cutest thing when I got it, I took amazing care of it during the healing process and when it was all healed up it was faded and splotchy. I ended up having to get it re done by somebody local and 10 tattoos later is definitely my least favorite. On top of everything I paid $360 (not including tip) for this small tattoo.Original dates in first two pictures, third picture is from today
I had been considering my first tattoo for about five years before finding Five Points and, specifically, Guy W.s portfolio. His work looked exceptional, with careful attention to the small details. I immediately booked an appointment with him. From the moment I stepped into the shop on the big day, I felt right at home: Motorhead blaring through the speakers, guys like myself with similar interests - pure class in my book. I could not be happier with my tattoo and Guys personal touch added something I hadnt thought of. Ill surely be back for more. Top-notch tattoo parlor.
Ill start out by saying this place has a nice ambiance and most certainly welcoming. Upon arriving I spoke with the front desk clerk (Bobby I believe his name is - tall, long hair male) regarding what I had a vision for and he obliged by introducing me to Rodrigo Canteras (Tattoo Artist). The artist exceeded my expectations and I was pleased by what he did. What I didnt agree on was not mentioning TAX in the waiver. I was told one set price for my tattoo and when it was time to charged my card, I was then told after the tattoo was completed there will be tax included which was an extra $25.00. I was so annoyed with what occurred that I decided to inform those whos planning on going to FIVE POINTS TATTOO to make sure you are clear on their set price before signing and getting your tattoo.
Last month my brother and I were fortunate enough to take a trip to NYC to celebrate his graduation and there was no doubt that Love Hate was a must on our agenda. We knew our whole family would want souvenirs but I only hoped that they would have time to fit me in for a session. The shop manager Anthony was extremely kind and welcoming yet still very professional. I was nervous and giddy and thrilled all at the sane time but Anthony made us feel right at home. Guy Waisman was my angel of an artist that day. I was so excited even before he began his work but he was very kind and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. It is my first color tattoo and my first realism tattoo as well so I was excited and nervous but when he finished there were absolutely no words that could express the utter beauty he created. Everyday Im still blown away that I have the honor of holding such art upon my flesh. Love Hate is by far the most exquisite tattoo shop with such incredibly talented artist! I would gladly fly across the country again if I could because they are truly worth it. Anthony and Guy definitely made a cool family trip a memory of a lifetime.
Walk out of the tattoo shop feeling like my tatooo was incomplete even though Jeb was saying that he was done. Started the project with him and he didn’t want to give me s final number for the tattoo he just kept saying that I need to come on for another session that we should finish up in the next session and the next session. Spent almost 2K on a tattoo that when i show people they all say that I over paid and looks incomplete. Just don’t go to Jeb if you have a real project that you want to work in and needs a real artist input and with a final price. Jeb will just try to take your money.
Clean and professional, however…A good place only if you have an exact copy of the job that you want to tattoo and if you do not mind the price.Im almost tempted to call the place a tourist trap”, my best description would be a “copy paste work shop”.New York is famous for the large number of tattoo parlorsAnd a great selection of artists that demands reasonable pricesThis place needs to aspire for more than mediocrity
The artist are reckless and not very professional. They don’t take the time to explain different needle thickness, types ... etc.wouldn’t recommend. A tattoo should be something done very carefully and the right way if it is there to stay on a persons body for a life time
Classly spot staffed with professionals. These folks take appointments, which I recommend making, and walk-ins. Based on their location and notoriety, they get people from all walks of life and from all over the planet. From what I witnessed, they do a terrific job.I made an appointment with Jeb Maykut for a dragon chest piece that will connect to my shoulder where my half-sleeve ends. Jeb did a masterful first sitting to get the outline done and start some shading and the colors he used are already popping and look sick! I am totally stoked on the next sitting and I can already tell that this is going to be a masterpiece. Not only is Jeb a tremendous talent, hes also a super cool dude.Bottom line: 5 stars for Five Points Tattoo
Really sweet welcome by Jessica who lets you feel like youre at home. Just simply express your wishes, then let the artists perform their amazing work, and youll get even better than you could have dreamed about !!!! I was so lucky that Eddy got time for me 😈 Thank you soooo much to all the shop team. You guys are really the best 💪👊👍

2022-06-11A very cool place in DC. They were able to accommodate us quickly, an as a bonus you can pay with card! My girlfriend and I both got tattoos same day as walking and they accommodated us within 15 minutes despite having a stream of customers through the door. Both the tattoo artists were very communicative about the style of tattoo he wanted adjusting thickness and size without ever making us feel like we were asking for too many changes.Definitely recommend Gordie Jones if you happen to stop by.Will definitely be booking him again when he comes to New York City, and if were in DC will definitely stop by five Points

2022-04-26Everyone at 5 Points is great, theyre all friendly and knowledgeable. Ive been going to Rob Banks for about 2 years now and hes a great artist. He takes his time thinking the entire piece through and its placement on your body (expect to wait up to an hour and a half on the couch as he draws) then he tattoos with quick precision. He just free handed parallel lines on my ear of all places! He knows what he doing and hes great at it. His prices are really fair too. He does many styles, so dont feel like youre stuck with neo traditional.

2019-07-26It was a wonderful experience getting help and knowledge about the tattoo i was asking to get. I brought all of the references that would help the artist create an aesthetic design and he delivered. The artist i went to was named Guy Waismen, he was very friendly. During the session he made sure i was comfortable and was able to continue since the duration was 4-5 hours long. He also gave a me a break in between to see how things was turning out as well has hydrate. Overall it was a wonderful experience and i would recommend anyone going to get a tattoo to come to this place. Looking forward to my next tattoo somewhere down the line.[Updated review]:So I returned to get another tattoo from the same artist, Guy. Just like my original visit, nothing short of great service and professionalism. This time around I was getting something a bit smaller on my bicep. Its the eye of horus, an just like my first visit he continues to execute it perfectly. As always I am a happy customer and will be returning for another tattoo to be dont by him.

2020-10-29Was there on my honeymoon, checking out the Ghostbusters firehouse that is just a block or two away. My wife and I walked by this place and decided to pop in to see if we could get inked, me for the first time. They drew up the Ghostbusters logo from an image I sent them to perfect specs, placed it on my arm exactly like I wanted, and tattooed it with incredible precision and amazing artwork! During the entire time we were there, the entire staff and clientele were incredibly nice and complimented our tattoo choices. My artist was pretty jazzed to put this on me as my first and kept up great conversation. My wife who has had many tattoos commented that such a tattoo shop like this can be rare; a place where everyone was so positive and inclusive. I loved the experience and plan to go back when I make it back to the city! Thanks!
