Dr. Giardino was highly recommended and referred to by our ob/gyn. Dr. Giardino spent a lot of time listening and educating us regarding this condition. She was compassionate and very thorough. We are grateful for her expertise and ability to diagnose quickly and start appropriate treatment and monitoring. Her office team is friendly, kind and very responsive. I would recommend Dr. Giardino to friends and family.
I see this office for both diabetes and under active thyroid, I have had nothing but excellent experiences with everyone in the office. Everyone is eager to help and always willing to go above and beyond to assist with any concern I have. They handle matters promptly and always come through with a resolution! I would highly recommend this office to anyone in need of an endocrinologist!
I cannot believe the bad reviews. Ive been with this practice for 3 years, never having needed an endocrinologist before and every single person there from the ladies who answer the phone up to Dr. Giardino are absolutely wonderful. Always very friendly, helpful and willing to listen. I highly recommend !
Office Manager is horrible! I have never given a negative review for any business or practice, but I can’t let this go by. My 91 yr. old Mother was a patient of Dr. Giardino many years ago as she had her thyroid taken out in 1962. Her thyroid levels had been managed for many years, but returned to Dr. Giardino in September, because her TSH level elevated to 13. Her primary care physician increased her levothyroxine and her TSH leveled back out to 4 when it was taken in the hospital in August. There is no information on Dr. Giardino’s portal site about her September visit or any bloodwork that was taken. In October, my mother had hip surgery and was taken to a rehab facility to recover. They had drawn her TSH blood levels and it was recorded at 56! They contacted Dr. Giardino’s office and the office took a long time to respond, only to ask for a second set of blood work. After the second set of labs recorded a 77 TSH level Dr. Giardino’s office never followed up about the lab work. Instead, the rehab facility and myself called the office several times to get some kind of recommendation to adjust her medication. Once we finally reached the office, the practitioner or the doctor was not able to speak with us, nor did they make any effort to follow up on their patient. The office manager called me and asked why I was upset. She treated my mother as if she was a patient file and said that she had to make an office visit before they modified her meds. The next visit was 4 days away. In the meantime, my mother was extremely lethargic and unable to perform her rehab work which negated any of her covered medical care for rehab. When the doctor finally called me, she left a message and told me that she no longer is responsible for my Mother’s care. For the next 3 days, I could not get her primary care physician, or the provider at Harris Hill to change her medication, because she was still under Dr. Giardino’s care and her last recommendation to them was to take yet another blood sample. In my opinion, their office management and demeanor is extremely poor. Their portal system is worthless and they do not care about their patient at all no matter how long they have been treating them. They treat the letter of the law as their guide with no regard for real care.
I was so excited to get my thyroid under control. I began to feel better with medication prescribed.I was to have an appointment this past week and could not afford the office visit fee. I asked if they could go over my labs with me and adjust my medication this one time. I spoke to the *office manager * who was so rude. She didnt really care about my situation. They charged me a $50 cancellation fee and would not schedule another appointment until the fee was paid. I told them I could make the payment the next pay period and told her when it was. She then said to me ... You just got paid, why didnt you just pay it then???????I was stunned that she had the audacity to even say that.I was then told that I would get a 30 day supply of medication and be referred by my PCP for management. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF TREATMENT!!!!!They only care about the money. Im disgustedDont bother seeing them
I was referred to this office by my PCP. They claim they take no new patients even though youre told to choose new patient appts. on their phone. The staff member was very rude and entirely unprofessional. Then she insulted me about my health insurance (which is a very good insurance). I have no idea why. I would never go to this office with their initial treatment. The consistent negative reviews are also a great indicator of what the experience would be with the doctor. She should read her reviews, but apparently it seems her arrogance would preclude her from caring. No thank you.
Dr. Giradino was great and knowledgeable. However, Sue her PA was extremely insistent that I have bariatric surgery and could not acknowledge anything else other than my BMI. I swear she must make a profit for each overweight person she signs up for this surgery (NOT even something they offer in there office). She was extremely curt and unfriendly. She was dismissive of every question/concern I had.
I finally had to leave this doctor soley due to her manager, Debbie. I constantly find her to be condescending to me. Furthermore, The staff at the front desk has screwed up many appointments for me in the past, they have even told me to shedule blood test when I didnt need them. But the last straw was today...Debbie the font desk manager repremanded me like I was a child for calling my endo by her first name Karen a in conversation. Furthermore, Debbie has consitently told me things and when I repeat exactly she said back to her, she treats me like I am lying to her. Never before in my life have I ever had problems with any doctors managers until Debbie. But I guess Im a fool becasue when I was searching for a ENDO to go to I read some bad reviews about karens front desk staff, but I didnt listen. Sorry Karen, I thought you were a very capable Endo and a very nive person, but I shouldnt have to deal with your Front desk staff namely Debbie anymore. What a rude entitled person.
This is an update to the 4 star positive review I contributed to some time ago.Sadly this is no longer the case.My appointments are constantly being rescheduled just mere days before my appointment. This is after waiting months to get in!!! My condition is not something that can be rescheduled or put off!!!Also, the constant change in office staff is something that is also very concerning to me. The current staff and especially the office manager, Michelle, dont have a clue as to whats going on and they make me very uncomfortable. The new heavy set girl up front as you check in is very moody.I hate to say but after 5 years of seeing Dr.Giardino I am currently seeking a new Dr. Even if that means traveling out of the area.Unacceptable.
Didnt call me for my telehealth appointment, terminated me as a client, and still charged me $50 for a no show even though they didnt call me. All this after being a client for 9 years because I couldnt answer the phone during work hours. I was just trying to get my medication filled for the year. 0 stars.
I created a first time appointment with Karen after my primary doctor referred me to make an appointment. I waited two weeks for my appointment just to find out the day before that Karen wont see me. I highly advise you to make an appointment with Karen if you want to waste your time.
We called for an appointment because of our primaries recommendation. We called and the next appointments was months, but we took it. A few days before appointment we received a call to cancel this appointment and that we can with take a Tuesday or have to wait another month. So we took first available appointment yet again. We got several calls changing the time of the appointment for that day. Night before scheduled appointment we received a call to inform us that the doctor does not deal with the diagnosis. Are you kidding me was my reaction. This place is a joke and we didn’t even get to see the doctor after months of waiting. Good Luck!
I called to make an appointment with her for my Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome 2 month ago. I was told to come in on July 27th @ 10:30 and if it was possible to have my primary doctor run some lab work associated with the disease. I got my primary doctor to order the lab work and I went to the schedule appointment and the receptionist told me that unfortunately they did not have an appointment schedule for me today. They asked me to have a seat and she was going to talk with her manager. (This happened after they ignored me waiting to check in for 10 minutes)The receptionist called me back over and stated again that I didnt have an appointment and asked me to come back on Monday. I told the woman that Im leaving the country and I was told to come in today so I wont be rescheduling. I told her I would figure something out when I come home again in May. I think they handle the situation unprofessionally. I more than likely will be looking for a different endocrinologist in the future
Never even walked in this place! From the 1st phone call trying to set up appointment was a complete nightmare. Then when it came to the insurance they were not competent enough to even take my insurance information and then tried to tell me I didn’t have insurance which I do and spent time verifying it because they were too incompetent to take the right information. Then they put this office manager I believe she said her name was Diane wow I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to a ruder person. Canceled my appointment and I’m not wasting my time they want me to trust they can take care of my health.
The absolute worst staff I have ever had to deal with. They are incredibly rude. The only thing this office cares about is money. You will have to sign this whole sheet about fees. Fees for this and fees for that. If your in financial trouble from being on disability with a complicated pregnancy they dont care they will send you right out of their office. The wait times are ridiculous. Save yourself the time and energy of dealing with these people and go somewhere else where they actually care about their patients and dont harass them.
One of the worst I’ve ever been to. You don’t even see the doctor- you see a nurse and they didn’t take my insurance so I was paying over $100 for five minutes with a nurse verifying my medication. I was upset with them so I left during the visit and they decided to send it to collections without telling me. This place is fraudulent, rude and you don’t even see the physician. Don’t waste your time.
Dr. G has changed my life, she is the best. The previous posts that I read sound like anger post. Obviously someone didnt get what they wanted or had to actually pay their bill (imagine that) most places do require payments. The staff is friendly and very helpful. So glad they got rid of the girl that use to check you in, she was horrible. The manager they have now has really changed things for the better. Highly recommend Dr. G and the other providers there.
I read all the reviews before scheduling an appointment with Dr. Giardino and on most of the different sites too. And after my second office visit, I can confidently say that I am lucky to have found a endo who is knowledgeable, listens and cares. Dr. G also acknowledged that each patient is different and you are “dialed in” with your thyroid when you tell me that you feel good and your levels are optimum for you. That was nice to finally hear after years of spinning my wheels with other Doctors. It seems to me that the “bad” reviews are unwarranted and unfounded. And as a 30 year hypothyroidism patient and 3 different endo Doctors. I know what I am talking about.P.S. The office staff and the ladies who checked me into my room and took vitals were very social, upbeat and professional.I found my Endo.
I have yet to find another Endocrinologist that was spot on! where others failed she got my levels exactly what was right for me and since I moved away in 2008 it has been a nightmare! She doesnt just look at the range of what the blood work says. She takes, age, height, weight and other medical information into consideration. She is also the one that found I has osteopenia at the time I broke my ankle and it was taking so long to heal. Out of the Drs I had seen, she was the one to order a bone scan. Wish I had her hear!
This place is a joke. They always change your appointments because the person seeing you had a “family emergency.” They constantly send text alerts about your bloodwork needing to be done, even though you’ve had it done. All they care about is money, you are lucky if you see the doctor for more than 5 mins, but you’re there all day waiting. The people on the phone are rude. You’re better off going to a place that cares about your needs and isn’t in it for the money. Smh.
I have side effects to certain thyroid meds and are tolerant of a generic version but this place refuses to prescribe the generic version to me and wanted to make me take the one that I have several side effects to. Stated that supply issues are the reason they do not prescribe it anymore yet through my primary I have had no issues for the last 10 years. Needless to say I am going back to my primary for better care.
Very very unprofessional. I have been a patient for a year for my diabetes nothing has changed as per my levels. So today she basically called me a liar and then says we cant help you....hello I have followed a low sugar carb diet and you tell me I am not doing it. Never even saw the dr except 1st visit. Always late. Very unorganized
I see so many negative things so I want to share my experience. I spent years searching for a doctor to help me with my thyroid problem. My body was attacking it and my numbers were okay technically so everyone said there was nothing I could do until the numbers start getting out of wack. It was heartbreaking because I felt terrible and all were symptoms of hypothyroid. Finally I went to Dr. G and she listened to how I was feeling and said it’s not normal to be 40 and feel like you do. She suggested trying a small thyroid dose and tweak the numbers to get them perfect. A year later and I have literally never felt better in my life! So thank you for listening.
This doctor is one of the best Ive ever seen. Im appalled at the previous comments. They sound like nothing makes them happy and if you go to their other reviews they are the same as the one on here. The wait is 15-30 minutes at most when Ive been there. Dr. Giardino has spent up to an hour with me. The staff is amazing. Im so angry reading these bitter reviews from people that nothing makes them happy. My second guess is they didnt get what they wanted ie.. medications so this is their revenge. What a shame they want to trash people. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DR. Rant over.
Had my first visit & was nervous because of some of these reviews. The staff was very friendly and always answers the phones promptly. I met with Janelle the PA for my first visit and also a quick visit with the MD herself. Janelle was very thorough & I felt confident working with her
Alright... I’m not one to write reviews— or even read reviews because honestly I’d rather form my own opinion— but after seeing such negativity I just had to say something.I am so relieved to have found an endocrinologist in this area who actually listens to and cares about my concerns! Not to mention she has the friendliest medical staff I have ever encountered so yeah.Basically what I’m trying to tell you is that if your endocrine system needs care— look no further!
The Physicians Assistant was the best part of the experience. The doctors approach toward thyroid treatment is perfunctory. It is my opinion that her attitude is pompous and arrogant. I would not recommend anyone with hypothyroidism to seek out this doctor for treatment.
Been going for a few years. Always feel dismissed and made to feel stupid with Doctor. So i shut down and stop talking because she seems annoyed if i try to ask questions. Not really sure why they want me to come back every year if everything is fine. Which says alot.
Ab-so-lute-ly wonderful! My experience couldn’t have been better. From the second I walked in the door, everyone that I interacted with were polite, friendly, and professional. If you are looking for a doctor who will really listen to you, look no further. Highly, highly recommend.
Ive never had a problem with dr giardino even with my 1st visit the staff was wonderful and nice Ive never seen the ps as Ive only saw dr giardino she takes pride in what she does and even called quest herself about them giving me a hard time about my bloodwork and she makes sure that you understand what she telling you and all the side effect that you may encounter Ive missed appointments and never had a problem getting a new script filled when I call her office I get a response that same day and if need to come in for some reason I get a same day appointment Ive recomandes her to lots of people and they all love her!
Just an FYI.has anybody noticed that the previous review was written by Dr Karen giardino, about herself.how unprofessional and childish, well I guess this should give people a look into what they will be dealing with if they choose to make an appointmant at this office.must be pretty bad if the doctor has to lie to get 5 stars..PATHETIC

2022-05-10Editing my review to add: the doctor is very nice and very thorough. Appreciate the level of care so far. What I said about the office, however, stands.Has been giving my 18 year old the runaround for two months, then canceled her initial visit because they hadnt received her records from the pediatrician. We called several times to ensure the pediatrician sent her records; how is this my daughters fault? She still needs care. Disgusted with the office policies.

2022-03-24Horrible practice. Front office staff very rude and incompetent. The doctor does not return phone calls. Good luck trying to call them,, they never answer their phones.. Very non-caring . You could be dying and no one would call you back. I have been a patient for many many years and nothing changes. Doctors just do not care for their patients like they used to. This place is a clown show, only cares about money. Doctors with God complexes are bad doctors.

2022-03-23I’ve probably referred about 40 of my own patients and clients to Dr. Giardino. She’s amazing. The problem is I never see her as she only personally sees the new patients.

2020-11-10I had a wonderful experience at this office. The staff was courteous and very helpful. I saw them during a time where they were doing a lighter schedule because of the pandemic so I appreciate them fitting me in. I spoke with the NP in the office and she took her time and explained everything to me. People have to understand that doctors and practitioners often have emergencies and have to cancel your appointment if one comes up. You can’t get mad about that. Yes, it’s a pain sometimes, when you have to reschedule, but we all have to learn to be understanding. That emergency could be you someday! For the record, I was not asked to write this review and I am a real patient!!

2021-06-23I was nervous to come to an appointment with an Endocrinologist for my thyroid, in general, due to things I had heard. I was referred to Dr. Giardino from my primary and then I read the reviews and I was nervous x2!! But I did schedule an appointment and I am so glad that I did! The office staff was terrific every time I have been there. Everyone was kind, courteous and they kept the office moving. I appreciated that part very much. When I met with Dr. Giardino, she was wonderful! So knowledgeable and she actually LISTENS to what you have to say. She didnt even look at my thyroid numbers until after she listened to how I was feeling and we made a plan that I was comfortable with moving forward. I would definitely recommend Dr. G and her office for anyone struggling with thyroid issues.

2021-08-23Worst office staff Ive ever encountered. They changed my appointment time and didnt tell me, so when I showed up, I was considered late. They told me I could wait over an hour to see if they can squeeze me in with no guarantee. When I told them that wouldnt be possible because I had work, they charged me a $50 no show fee.... How could you charge me a no show fee when I was standing right in front of you. Very rude front office, couldnt talk to anyone about this. Everytime you go into the office, you are waiting 30+ minutes to see a provider for 5 minutes and now that Im late because no one communicated to me that you changed my appointment time, I have to pay a $50 fee. Absolutely ridiculous. Doesnt care about the patients at all, just cares about making money.

2021-08-26I canceled my appointment and they still charged me for a no show then when I called them they said that they never canceled the appointment. I got a letter in the mail saying I owed money and when I called to talk to someone about it the lady was very nasty to me. She said that the bill was already put in collections because it was past 10 days and when I told her I just got the letter the week prior she said well no I sent it out earlier than that and it’s not my fault you didn’t get it in time. I told her that I would like to talk to the the doctor and she said hold one and sent me over to someone and then when I told her all I wanted to do was make an appointment and to get a refill of my pills and she said sorry you are no longer a patient here because you didn’t show up to your last appointment and I told her that I canceled it and she tried to tell me I didn’t. I asked her to at least fill my prescription and she said no because you are no longer a patient and that I would have to figure it out.

2021-03-23I have been going to Dr Giardinos office for 2 years now. I used to have to go every 3 months, then 6 months, and now I am at my annual. I googled her office to see how to get there from work and was shocked to read the comments. After reading them all, I wanted to immediately leave a comment saying I dont understand. Instead of doing that, I waited until my appointment today and my opinion remains the same. I have no idea what everyone is complaining about, truly. Every staff member is always kind to me and simply does their job. The office staff may not be over the top friendly, but they are not mean? They just do their job. Im more than good with that. I dont personally see Dr. Giardino (I think I only did for my initial appointment), but all of the NPs that I encounter there are good at what they do. I went from going to a primary who didnt listen to my medical concerns, to a specialist who put me on the hormones that I need to function normally. I am thankful!

2020-10-07I am extremely disappointed of how this office staffed has been towards me and they way they are handle the appointments. They have called be twice now, excepting me to change my appointment without a care. I work full-time and my pto has to be approved, I simply just cant schedule for the next day. The office manager who contacted me was uncaring and offered no solutions. Im also not happy with the PA, who last time I was there for less then five minute conversation, was dismissive of my questions. I stayed because I liked the doctor, but since I never get to see her, there really is no point of continuing there relationship with doctor office. I would recommend to anyone looking for new doctors office, this was waste of time and additional money for all those additional five minute appointments I simply needed, even when all my blood work was normal and my ultrasound was clear.
