With so many barbers in Brooklyn, its still hard to find a place that gives you exactly what you want. Michael is the name of the barber you want to see at this establishment. You can get the whole hot towel, razor and face massage treatment. He knows what hes doing. Ill be there again in the future.

Michael was quick and efficient. The atmosphere of the place is clean and chill, and I felt relaxed getting my first haircut in over a year due to Covid. I paid more than I have for other cuts in the city, but it was well worth it. Ill definitely be back in a few months for a refresher!

I went here to get a hair styling and beard trim for my upcoming wedding. I have long hair and am usually pretty nervous about getting it cut at a barbershop, but Mike did me right. He calmed my nerves and gave me a great haircut, beard trim, and shave! Cant wait to bring my groomsmen on the wedding day so we can all get shaped up before the ceremony. Highly recommend!!!
I would give Gentlemens Barbershop a 10/10. I have lived in the neighborhood for 5 years and I am only just finding this gem.I was on time for my scheduled appointment and so was Michael, making me not have to worry about cutting it close to my next meeting at work during my break. Something I have struggled with is finding a new barber who listens to what you are looking for, even if you ask to change something up mid process. I enjoyed learning more about Michaels 17 years of experience cutting hair in Queens, Manhattan, and finally opening his own shop 5 years ago in Brooklyn- if only I knew I had a gem close by this entire time- If you need a quality cut and need to get in, get out, and get on with your life, leaving with a great experience, good conversation, and walking out looking better than you did walking in within a timely fashion, Id recommend Gentlemens Barbershop time and time again. Ill be going back for sure! Do yourself a favor and get over there so you can look as good as me.

Getting your hair cut at Gentlemens Barbershop is a great experience all around. Michael is a pro and the shop is extremely welcoming and friendly. Mike is a great guy and his haircuts are phenomenal. I grew my hair out a little past my shoulder line and was in need a big cut. I showed him 1 pic for 5 seconds and he literally matched the pic in less than 20 minutes. All in all, It was amazing experience that included great conversation, a clean back of the neck shave, whatever beverage I wanted, and a refreshing hot eucalyptus towel on my face to finish it off. 10/10 highly recommend Gentlemens barbershop.

After years of searching in Brooklyn, I finally found my barber! I’ve been coming to Mike for a couple years now. His work is amazing and he is very hospitable. You’ll be greeted with the offer of a beer and whiskey. Relaxing and great music. He offers a hot towel and straight razor shave as well. Definitely worth coming in and having a high end experience. Highly recommend for a real gentleman.
Very happy customer. Mark cut my hair, did an excellent job, made me feel and look like a million bucks and was really cool to talk to. Super comfortable atmosphere, chill saxophone music in the background, was offered refreshments and open later than most barber shops, especially on a Sunday. Highly recommend getting a cut here! Highly recommend! Mike was really nice and did a great job on my hair, beard, and shave. I came in at a pretty slow time (Monday 2pm) and I could tell he wasnt rushing which was nice. Appreciated the beer, would have had a shot of whiskey too but I had to get back to work.

Michael is the owner of this establishment, but you know it’s more than that to him; attention to detail is paramount from the threshold in this barber shop.The cut is fast, tight and open to suggestions.I have often had too much anxiety about my hair and finding someone who is competent and patient has been a long battle. Just moved to Brooklyn recently and I’ve been looking for a good barbershop. I tried one near my place but wasn’t satisfied. It’s a good to thing I gambled on going a little out of my way to see Mike at Gentlemen’s Barbershop! This was quite a pleasant experience - clean and meticulous haircut, good conversation, cool shop, relaxing music and nice perks (e.g. drinks, styling, free shaver). Mike didnt listen to what I asked for. In fact, he did the exact thing I specifically ask him not to do - negating the whole point of the cut. There was bad communication throughout. The one thing he did ask me how I liked, he did not explain to me what it meant when I told him Ive never heard of it before - yet he went ahead and did that too. At least for my time in the chair, Mike was another one of I know best breed of barbers. Good communication is the hallmark of good barbers, it was severely lacking from this experience.

Micheal is a master at his craft – I’ve never had a better shave. I travel from Crown Heights to this barber shop every month because it’s simply the best. I’m sure you could find a cheaper cut somewhere, but if you seriously want a good shave, you have to see Michael at the Gentleman’s Barbershop.
Hands down the best barber shop in Brooklyn. The staff is experienced and they may be the best in the business as far as Im concerned. This is the only place that I will let cut my hair. When youre there, they treat you like family. Very warm and welcoming place.
Michael styles hair with ease, always considers first what the customer is looking for in their cut. The first time around I was about to go into an interview and wanted to look fresh. I had a pre-existing undercut that had grown out a little. He worked with precision and efficiency. Towards the end for the finishing touches, he used a straight razor to clean up the back of my neck and the hairline by the ear near the eyes. Grabbing a warm scented towel from an oven-like compartment, he held it draped over my face. Today I went in expecting the same professional service for a much shorter version of my current haircut and, of course, Michael delivered. It is extremely easy to setup an appointment through the website. Gentlemens Barbershop has a casual, low-key vibe, and a clean, curated aesthetic. No frills, no fluff, Michael will give you a great haircut. I will definitely be back again!
Had a wonderful experience this afternoon with the owner of Gentlemans Barbershop who shares the same first name and last initial as myself. Did some research online to find a barber who can cut hair and trim/shape beards. I havent had any luck finding anyone where I live in the Bronx that is anywhere near how clean the shop is, how detailed he is at his craft, and all for a very reasonable price. The tolls and traffic were definitely worth it. Got a haircut, beard trim, shaved neckline and cheek line to shape my beard and the warm towels were a great touch. Highly recommended. Left with a genuine smile for the first time in a very long time after a haircut. Keep up the great work! Will definitely be making the commute back soon.

This guys the real deal. i’ve only known those old school barbers who only take appointments by phone, mike makes it easy tobook something. i showed him a picture of what i wanted the first time i walked in the door and since then hasn’t asked any questions about the style i want. fantastic customer service, clean shop, perfect haircut. worth the price, and i’m always looking for a deal.
I gave a 2 because it was open and he was friendly but for a $45 cut it was minimal. I usually go to a barber close to his and it’s $25 and i get my fade , shape up and eyebrows done. I paid double the price here and left with barely a decent cut. I didn’t get a shape up or the eyebrows done. I’m not saying he did a bad job but if we are speaking in terms of value. For the money spent it wasn’t worth it. It was a $15 cut
I needed a haircut and this was the closest to where I was staying. At first I was a bit nervous that the price point was a bit high for what I’ve usually paid, and it being my first time here I was hoping it would be money well spent. I had forgotten to wear my contacts so I had to take my glasses off for the cut (more nerves) I was already in the chair so I had to put my good faith into Mike. Needless to say I went out later that night and my hair was all the rage, Mike suggested some Tip Top water based pomade hair product that worked like magic. I have never had so many compliments on my hair like I did last night, so thank you Mike for working your magic, it was a confidence boost that I really needed! Shall we call you Magic Mike?
By far the best haircut Ive ever gotten. They gave me a free beer and a razor and then the barber spent the next 45 minutes making sure every single hair was exactly the way he wanted it. Hes also a master barber so gave a ton of advise on how my hair grows and how I should style it / what I should ask barbers for in future. 10/10 would recommend

Extremely professional and reliable barber. I have been going t o Mike to get my haircut for years. Every time Ive gone anywhere else, the end result is never as good. Easy to communicate what you want and perfectly executed. The shop is also very accessible from the train.

When you leave, you’ll truly feel like a Gentleman!The barber (and owner), Mike, is pleasant, laidback, and a bit soft-spoken. He does not pressure you into have an ongoing conversation like other barbers do, but will gladly chat with you regarding any subject should you bring it up. He offers a wide verity of services worthy of the old school Gentlemen’s barber treatment, and uses fine, traditional products. The price for services are comparable to the neighborhood (trendy, “hipster” Williamsburg). This is a new barbershop that just opened near the Montrose L stop. Mike is the owner and hes very detailed, professional, and does exceptional haircuts of various styles. I would definitely recommend to anybody.

I had been coming here pretty much since t opened to get the fade in my undercut touched up. Loved it, always happy. Suddenly today he no longer does women’s hair. I paid the same as a full cut, always tipped, I really don’t understand. What gives?

2021-10-12This place is great! I get my beard trimmed and neck shaved here every so often and it comes out great every time. Mike is a nice guy and does a good job. Getting my beard trimmed is an enjoyable and relaxing experience. I tell my friends it’s kind of like getting a mani/pedi, but for men 😆 His haircuts are great too. Will probably come back here soon!

2022-06-09Michael has an easy online booking service, provides exactly what I need, and is friendly to boot (not overly chatty, just the right amount). I appreciate the work he does, and always ask me the whole way if I approve of what he’s doing.He’s also willing to pour you a nice glass of something if you want, which is a nice touch. The hot towel shaves are godly.
