My wifes mother recently passed away in Colorado and her wish was to be buried in Batavia. Her unexpected passing presented several logistic issues. We placed a phone call from Denver, right after her passing, to Justin Smith. We explained our predicament and was very personal and helpful. Transportation from Colorado, securing the needed paperwork, recommendations along the way, right through to the beautiful graveside service. Every aspect was handled deftly, professionally and with a sincere, personal touch. Highly recommend both Justin and H.E. Turner & Co.

My family and I are thankful to have found Justin & H.E. Turner Funeral Home. Even though we knew the end was nearing for my father, we were still caught like a deer in headlights when he finally passed. When another funeral home was very pushy & sales oriented, Justin treated my family and I with nothing but compassion & respect. He worked with us through the entire process understanding that we werent financially prepared & didnt have much to work with. The care, compassion, humor & professionalism exhibited by Justin throughout this dark family time can not be expressed in words. Thank you for being an absolutely amazing person!

Jim and Mary, Justin and Josh took beautiful care of our large family when my mother died. They listened carefully, accommodated us in every way. We came back to Batavia from several parts of the country, some of us tired from travel, all of us sad and stressed. The calling hours and the funeral brought large groups of people together (it was just a week before quarantine). Throughout it all the Smith family was kind, organized, calmly kept us on track. Now four months later I am even more grateful that we chose H E Turner & Co to help us through that week. I highly recommend their exceptional service to all.

I contacted Justin to set up pre-burials for both of my parents. I knew nothing about any of this, but he helped me thru all the plans. When my Dad passed this summer, they were so caring and helpful. I would recommend HE Turner to any and all of my friends. They did an excellent job. The military service at the cemetery was amazing. We truly were so thankful.

Steve Johnson was kind, thoughtful and so sweet to our family during the loss of my mother! He was knowledgeable and assisted us in making decisions. He had great attention to detail and understood our grief! I would recommend HE Turner to any one!

My Dad died in May (2020) in the midst of Covid and all the nonsense that came with it. He did not have Covid btw. Steve and everyone at Turners is wonderful. Dad had pre-planned his arrangements (which I highly recommend) so most of the decision making was done. We did have to pick out a new casket because his choice was no longer available. When we were shown the other options from a catalog it made me laugh. All I could think of was the scene from The Jerk when Steve Martin was explaining the prizes you could win. Anything on this shelf from here to about here. We had no idea why he picked the one he did so we picked one we liked which lightened the mood and got a laugh from everyone. Jim knew my Father and thought hed find it funny too! Steve did everything he could to keep our experience as calm and respectful as possible. The restrictions on gatherings were adhered to and other precautions were in place. We were able to have a viewing for immediate family before the burial service in May. Due to restrictions from the church we were not able to have a funeral until August. Both events were done with professionalism. We were able to have calling hours the night before the funeral. Arrangements for civic and social groups my Father belonged to were made as well as full military honors at the funeral. I am sure working with a family for four months was a challenge. Turners handled everything as if it were normal. I never felt they were just going through the motions. We did have personal conversations and it was nice knowing a little about them as people. They see families at one of their most vulnerable and uncertain times and probably learn way more than they would ever want too! The emotional outlet for our family is laughter. I knew that was fully understood when the phrase herding cats was used to describe what is was like to work with us. Now before you get all offended - the only people they had to herd were my Mother and myself! We are like ping pong balls and you never know where we are going to bounce. This was the first time as an adult I was immediate family of the deceased and, although heartbreaking, it was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend H.E.Turner & Co and encourage you to make arrangements in advance if possible. The amount of stress it relieved is unmeasurable.
