We ordered the roast beef sandwich with chicken wing special and an eggplant Parmesan sandwich it was one of the most worst meals I’ve ever had there was so much salt on the sandwich and when I called and let them know not much of an apology just basically said that that’s the way the bread is and I even said to them that I don’t intend on returning it don’t want my money back but honestly it was disgusting
Cool place just a short walk from the Hyatt Regency. Friendly and attentive staff. Food may take a little longer to arrive, but it is worth it. The calzone I had contained a lot of ricotta cheese which Ive never seen in a panzo before. Generous with the toppings. Happy hour starts at 3pm. They have an outdoor patio with shade. Would definitely go again.
8/29/20 Been ordering here for years, and the place has gone down hill bad. I ordered a single order of chicken fingers, paid 12 dollars for what you see here. They were more like chicken nuggets. Two of them were only partially covered in sauce, and not edible as they were thin and more like battered cartilage. I called to speak to someone about the order and was told the person who takes the complaints is not in and they didnt know when they would be in. They took my number and I was told I would get a call back. 4 days later and still no call back. I will never order from here again.
Other reviews talk about a rude woman on the phone, Ive experienced this many times to where she even hung up. The pizza has declined since covid because we had went to their Christmas party before 2020. It was like eating mush because it was taken out of the oven too soon. They said 15-20 minutes and it came out in 10. The pizza before that it was like they traced the pizza with their finger, basically cheesy bread with a hint of sauce for taste. 😂Another reviewer on here states that they heard people complaining about having to make pizzas.Hire new people. If they cant even answer the phone or make pizza without having an attitude, no wonder the quality has went down. They stopped making the onion bread pizza slices that were by the salads they were under $2 and a lot of people probably benefited from that especially now during a pandemic and people have less money.Ever since the bar became more of a focus, the pizza has declined significantly. Youre known as pizzaria, not a bar.Was one of my favourite places, but the amount of problems adds up so, nope Im good.
Expensive! Pricing makes no sense. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Ordered 1 slice of pizza and an individual bottle of iced tea. The price rung up was almost $12. I questioned it and the cashier said the pizza was $5 and change and the iced tea was almost $6!!! I noticed they had a pizza lunch special. So instead I got the same slice of pizza, a can of soda and a large Cookie (priced Like $2.50 or $3) for like $9. Pizza was decent but its not even that big of a slice. Wouldnt be in a hurry to go back.
Ordered a drop off buffet for a family birthday celebration over the weekend and everyone was extremely satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. The delivery was flawless, on time and the massive amounts of food were all delivered HOT and safely. Everyone went home with full bellies and leftovers
We go to Casa Di Pizza whenever we are looking for GREAT Pizza and Wings, south of the border, we have been going for over 10 years. You always get a smile and warm welcome upon arrival. The restaurant atmosphere is always upbeat, clean with various sports on numerous tvs. The bar has many craft beers available and they are happy to offer a small sample prior to your selection, which is a real treat. The wait staff is fabulous. We look forward to seeing Judy, who is always on the ball and does a great job catering to all the tables. The menu is filled with options. What got us hooked on coming, was their kids Pizza option, where for $4.99, the child is brought out their rolled pizza dough, a cup of sauce & cheese, as well as their selected toppings. The kids can make their own pizza, and it gets taken away, cooked and returned. The kids love it, it also comes with a drink and a little dessert. We have been returning for years, partially due to the kids option, partially due to the great prices, and mainly for the amazing quality, great tasting pizza and wings. You cant go wrong with JJs Casa Di Pizza, they have a good thing going, and the pizza taste is truly amazing.
First visit and I was very impressed. It was clear to me from the start that this is a family run business and I was fortunate enough to meet Laurie, one of the family. She was so nice and told us about their move from Elmwood. Love the downtown location It is a great gathering place for sports fans and the food was amazing. Deep dish pizza was better than Ive had in Chicago. Staff and service were A1.
*updated review*My first experience wasnt great, the staff was nice and speedy but my pizza was bland and seemed overpriced for the quality - the slice was pretty large but seemed like it had cheap, sort of tasteless ingredients. I decided to go back and give it another chance, it seems like most people love the place, so I thought maybe I went on just a bad or off day. I think thats what happened because my last pizza was great! I felt like it was worth the money and I enjoyed it. If I have another good experience Ill update my review to 5 stars
Ive been going to positive Pizza for 35 years and I am so sad to see that they never called back one of their great waitresses who has been there forever Ive always went to the casa di pizza to see Judy unfortunately Judy was never called back after the pandemic shame on this restaurant.
INCREDIBLE PIZZA! FANTASTIC SERVICE! Grabbed some dinner with my girlfriend on her break, the waitress was incredibly friendly and understanding of our time crunch. We were able to get in, order, eat, and pay all in time! Super great atmosphere and really good food.Thank you so much!
JJs used to be great before the covid pandemic. Since May Ive placed 4 pickup orders and every time they got at least one item wrong or had to wait 30-45 minutes past the scheduled pickup time at the location. One time when I called to let them know that I got the wrong order, I was put on hold three times and had to explain that my order was wrong three times. In my head I cant justify ordering with them anymore even though its been my go to spot since I live downtown. I hope theyre able to fix whatever kitchen/staffing issues that have caused their service to decline because their food and menu is actually really good.
One of the best pizzas in town! Want to try the meatballs next time as they were large and smelled wonderful. Eat outside if at all possible (or carryout) as the inside dining is just TOO noisy! Sure wish they were at their old location on Elmwood, as you could at least talk and hear each other. Its that popular industrial style design that has no noise dampening capacity. Its a shame as it is a nice looking restaurant.
Cant recommend this place enough. If you are in the area, please go. You will not be disappointed. There are a lot of choices on the menu, so bring your appetite (best Chicken Parm sub I have ever had). Nice size beer selection as well. You definitely will feel the neighborhood family atmosphere.
This place had to cut its hours. Real shame. Good food. Great wait staff. Nice little bar restaurant in the back that wife and I enjoy after a show downtown. Wont be able to all the time with the cut hours. They should probably expand the late hours back a little and cater to the after theater crowd with Fridays and other things by the theaters being closed.
I moved to Buffalo 5 weeks ago and this is already my go-to place if Im looking for a quick bite to eat but quality food. Ive never had a bad meal here and the service is impeccable. The girls at the counter are always so friendly and always have smiles on their faces. The menu has a variety of food and the portions are decent. Ive tried pretty much all the salads on the menu and they are filling and delicious. The salami sub and the stuffed pepper burger are also fantastic. In my opinion the prices are a little on the high side, but Im willing to spend my money here because I know itll be worth it!
This was my first time here, we had pizza and wings, they were ok, I prefer a crispy bottom crust on my pizza and crispy wings, but neither were really crispy. The server was great tho! She told us that she has worked there for 20 years. She was very friendly. I would go back and give it another try.
My sister and I brought two five year old girls here for Friday night pizza. We were able to have a private booth that was tucked away from the bar. The food was perfect, and our server was a doll. She made sure the girls were having fun, bringing crayons to the table, and chatting with all. Another delicious pizza, from a place that never disappoints!!!
Very nice atmosphere, service and food. It was my first time there tonight. I would definitely recommend it. The owners of Casa Di Pizza support the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. I volunteer at CBAS a couple times a week . The owners of Casa Di Pizza donate pizza to us over there.
Its been a good while since Ive last had JJs, felt like some Italian and this is my go to. Instead of the usual call to order I tried a new app, Slice. They received my order and it was ready when they said it would be. As for flavor, pretty good. Ive had better, but Ill give them a pass this time due to the amount of business they had when I ordered. If next time its the same, going to have to find a new place. Now as for pricing, the have gone up and servings have shrunk. Side note, I ordered garlic bread and Slice only offered it with cheese. I did request no cheese, but still paid the same price. Memory serves me well and I know for fact that plain garlic bread costs quite a bit less than cheesey garlic bread. Minus a star bro, not cool. So, if you are in downtown Buffalo and in want of some decent Italian food, give this place a try.
I ordered at 237pm on the slice app and waited until 420 until I started getting anxious on when my delivery is coming. I work 6/10ths of a mile away right by seneca towers keep in mind. I had to chat with the slice app the agent said at first the restaurant reported my one sandwich delivered , then stated that they didn’t get the order from slice. Finally my food came at 505 pm no apologies no offer to make anything right and the one thing I ordered - a stinger sub didn’t even have the cheese on it. I’d call them to complain but I already waited almost 3 hours, so I just ate the sandwich. And I’m still hungry because the toppings were skimpy. I got the whole sub it has a parmesean on the bread which was good, the meats were good just super skimped. I won’t be using this restaurant or slice again either. Nobody should have to wait so long for ONE sandwich with it not even made correctly especially when you are within a mile of the restaurant. Highly disappointed
Worst service I’ve ever had in a long time. Ordered 30 wings to go after my meal and pre paid for them... was told they hadn’t even been started when I was ready to leave 40 mins later. Gave me money back and didn’t offer and compensation. Left hungry and disappointed. Oh and if you “win” a bar party don’t be excited. Told us they would provide food for 25 people and offered us 2 large pizzas and a bucket when we got there. Not sure how that’s suppose to feed 25 people. My fav wings in the city but this place is going downhill fast. Something needs to change with the management and customer appreciation needs to be a top priority from now on
Got a great slice of pizza in under 5 mins im out the dr ty guys and ty for taking good care of me serves are awesome ill fequent often great mushrooms n dips, loaded cajin fries buy yourself a extra side of sour cream the food tho was amazing thank you love your establishment 😋
Food was horrible, cold, soggy, things were completely forgotten, sat there for 50 minutes with empty glasses until I got my own at the bar.service was even worse. rude, inconsiderate, it was a completely horrible experience.my table of 6 left 4 full plates of food and still paid $90 for nothing.first and last time. thanks for ruining my first trip to buffalo!
My family has been going for generations. There was a mistake on an order and it turned out bad. I had problems with communication and a not so understanding register woman, but it was fixed finally when I dealt with another woman and she spoke with manager. All was corrected and the replacement pizza was phenomenal! Even gave us mints on the side in those little dip cups. I will always love this place. I still prefer old location though. I miss that.
We always loved this place. Drove 45 minutes to get their takeout today. Once inside we were pleased to see the staff wearing gloves and masks...until the manager came out. No mask, no gloves, handling orders and cashing people out. Worse yet, he reached around the plexiglass to shake hands with a friend. If you have loved ones with compromised immune systems, or elderly family members (we have both in our house), think hard before you put them at risk. We spent $60 and tossed everything in the garbage...family was understandably let down when we showed up empty handed :(
Came in one night alone, sat at the bar and ordered a small steak pizza. I havent had pizza this good in a really long time, it was excellent the crust and dough were both perfect. The bartender was really friendly and fast. The bar was nice with everything you would expect and they were streaming the Buffalo Sabres game on the TVS.
Very worse! Food arrived cold ( we live around the corner) rolls on hamburger stale ... pesto chicken wrap NO PESTO ... fries soft and cold chicken fingers more like over fried chicken nuggets...really disappointed The only good thing is they sent delivery guy back to pick up and issued a refund. Well that will not happen again!
Lifetime of amazing Pizza Pies and customer serviceBeen going to JJs Casa di Pizza for almost 40 years and every one of my friends and family members I take absolutely enjoy the Pizza and Wings. Consistently delicious! Judy has been an absolutely pleasant server for so many years. Her dedication and hospitality alone keeps me and my friends coming back, especially before Sabres games. Thank you also Micah for your hospitality. To the owners....been loving the new location and wish you success for many generations.
Its just not the same. I took my son 3yr old grandson and 6month old granddaughter there 2weeks ago. I ordered a large pizza 20 wings and 4 Loganberrys. They charged me $71. When I complained I was told the prices was right. It was after my complaint on fb did someone reach out to me to say it was a mistake. But Im done, Im never coming back.
If I was reviewing for just their wings I would increase my rating to 4.5, however, our recent takeout order was the family bbq combo and it was just ok. The wings were on point as usual, but the ribs lacked flavor due to over boiling/steaming of the ribs and no bbq sauce. The last time we ordered them they were VERY GOOD, but the time before that they were blah blah, so it seems like this item is hit or miss. I wont order the combo again while we have company at the house.Overall the restaurant is pretty cool, especially after going to an event downtown and you have wings on your mind. Long time waitress Judy is the best!!I havent tried their brunch yet so I cant comment on that.
Casa Di Pizza is known for their excellent pizza and I was a fan of their Elmwood location for many years. I tried their new location recently and was very disappointed. I ordered a stuffed pizza and realized when I got home that the dough was completely raw in large clumps throughout the pizza. I called and informed them of this and received a discount off my next order which should have been a replacement pizza. Hopefully next time my experience will be better and I can update this review.
I stopped at JJs casa de Pizza on the way home after a hard day of work.while waiting for the pizza I stopped in the back room bar. wow what a diamond in the rough. Mica introduced himself was very glad that I was a first-timecustomer I promise you it wont be the last the pizza was excellent the service was excellent I highly recommend taking a trip down here well worth the visit I will definitely be back. the bartenders were very attentive and very friendly crowd. God bless them and good luck
Their pizza was excellent at some point lately its been terrible. I like to order on Mondays and Wednesday when they have their specials their pizza has been burn to saucy very sloppy not much cheese on it like it use to have. Delivery takes to long I waited over two hours for my pizza and it was burnt the girl was so rude and hung up on me. I went there recently the cashier a thick girl with dark red hair more like a wine color terrible attitude and costumer service her face the whole time like she cant stand being there I dont know how management doesnt see that. If you hate your job that much please do everyone a favor and quit. Definitely needs costume service skills. I use to love eating there thought they had the best pizza not anymore taking my business elsewhere and where its appreciated!
Went with a big group, service was understandably slow. Half our party received and ate their food and received their bill and we half of us had not received their food. In the over an hour since we ordered our waitress never came to see if we wanted drinks, we went to the bar and served ourselves. When we called the manager to attention he offered 20% off our bill. What bill? Half of us still had no food. We chose to leave and find somewhere that could serve us in under an hour.
Food is okay. Best I can describe is inconsistent. Ive had really great food some days and other days, same dish, mediocre. We keep going back because it is a convenient place with a large beer list. Usually 6 of us go to lunch at 11:30. It always takes 30 mins or more to get food, even when we are the first table in the restaurant. Often times, if you have multiple payment methods, they get defensive, but are mostly accommodating.
Best Meatball Sub I’ve ever had and was very affordable. The place looks small but extends well behind the front area. There’s a quick take out section in the front and a dining area/sports bar farther inside. Sizeable menu, very friendly staff and great lunch specials.
I was in the area decided to stop in for a late lunch with a friend. This establishment was spotless, Ive been nervous stopping out during the pandemic. Casa is doing it right from social distancing to masks, I will definitely be back. Oh and I highly recommend The Goombadi sub!
The pizza was good. Yes that is the most important thing......right? You be the judge. Here is what was wrong. No one greeted is when we walked in, so we stood there for a few minutes not sure if we should seat ourselves. Finally we were told where to sit by an employee who seemed annoyed she had to deal with us. The server was slow and forgot everything, including refilling our drinks. Then to top it all off they allowed a dog to come into the outside seating area and drink from a bowl they use to serve customers.
Ive been to this restaurant around a dozen times and had good experiences in the past. However lately its gotten worse. They have replaced imo good interesting dishes like pizza fries that I craved with fries covered in cheesewiz and bacon called loaded fries that were substantially worse. They are replacing good pizza with various weird pizzas that include way too many raw onions. They are also undercooking said pizza to the point where the dough is only cooked lightly on the bottom. Its been a drop in quality and I dont think Ill be back at least for a long while with how many places we have downtown. That said its still edible and the service is good and prices not unreasonable.
My family and I have been regular customers at Casa Di Pizza for many years and always request the server, Judy because she is the best! The pizza is fabulous and so is the chicken parmesan. But everything is all the better because of Judy. She knows our drinks and order by heart, is the hardest working server from her days on Elmwood Ave to the new location on E Mohawk, and is always cheerful and kind. We really enjoy our dining experience at Casa, complete with great food and quintessential service from Judy!!!
Great experience. Pleasant cashier with a great smile. Ordered a chicken finger aub that really hit the spot for me. I thought the bread was a bit thin, but that is ok and prob for the best anyway (less carbs), and it only cost me around $8 which is a bargain in the city. I know when I want another sub I will be going back there
I am very disappointed. The crust was raw. I have always been a fan of Cada Di Pizza but todays order was just absolutely disappointing. They seemed to have new employees which may be the reason why the pizza was so bad. The cheese also looked like it was just put on top of the vegetables since I still saw the squares of the cheese.(The regular cheap cheese youll find at Save-A-Lot). The veggies werent seasoned at all either. It ruined my visit.
I havent had JJ Casa Di Pizza in a long while since it moved to down town.I wanted a fish fry so my BF suggested Casa.. at first the young man that took our order over the phone stated that they wouldnt deliver to us approx 10 min away, but the manager agreed to do so. Well we ordered 2 fish fry and requested extra tartar @.75 each, thinking that the fish would be a big fish portion around 535pm. We called around 643pm to see if our food left manager stated leaving out the door now; Food didnt arrive until 720pm. When it arrived the food was cold. The fish was small, no need for extra tartar. But after warming up the food (cause we didnt want to go thru the hassle of calling to complain) the fish had good flavor and the salads, potatoe and macaroni was decent. The fries were too well seasoned for my taste. I received butter, but no bread roll? No plastic ware to eat food, great thing I was at home.I wouldnt order the fish again, but I know they have other good items on the menu.
Ordered 20 mild extra crispy wings and a slice of cheese pizza. Received 20 plain wings, no seasoning what so ever, and a slice of cheese pizza that tasted like it had been there for a while. This is not the first time my order has been wrong but this is the first time I decided to complete a review. Used to be my go to for pizza and wings.
Great pizza specials monday and wednesdays. Pasta, chicken, salads, italian dishes. No parking lot so you may have to search for parking on street although there is a parking ramp across the street. You can call for take out too but hard to park close to pick up. Great for walkers though. Location was better when they were on Elmwood. Good food though.
Casual dining thats perfect for famil, friends or business. Excellent pizza and wings, but my favorite has to be the philly chicken sub. They always have a great beer selection, especially if youre into craft beers. The outdoor patio is great for enjoying the Buffalo summers. Checkout their trivia or different theme nights too.
Sad to say this use to be our favorite place for wings. The last 3 orders placed were awful...under cooked wings not cool. Management gave us credit each time however I would prefer to just have my wings cooked mild extra crispy like I like them.....rather than be disappointed again I wont be ordering from you guys anymore 😔
Lady taking orders had a nasty attitude. Says its not her job to make sure the order has what was ordered. Hung up on us before we could complete order and then when we called back to tell them they forgot what we asked for she still had and gave more attitude! Just lost alot of business. I would not recomend this place to anyone.
Gave this place one star. If I could I would have given it a negative score! I ordered a meatball parmasean sub with an order of hot wings. Omg, l have never had a meatball sub with no meatballs!! The meat had a weird taste. The little bit of meat that it did have was scrambledish. The wings were ordered crispy. That is not what I got . l also got 2 flats and 8 drums. What a waste of money!! I am very unpleased. This is not the quality of service that I have received in the past!! Check your food before you leave!!
This establishment is racist and calls the police on unsatisfied customers! Please do not purchase food here.PLEASE SHARE!If your hungry for anything, and do not want to cook...Please do not waste your dollars at JJs Casa Di Pizza - 11 E Mohawk St, Buffalo, NY 14203, because apparently they think it is acceptable to call the police on Black folks even during a pandemic!I am farrrrrr from tired, I am on FIRE! 😡#boycottJJscasadipzza#racistJJcasadipizza#boycottJJcasadipizza
I know it was a busy night but to have your order screwed up twice...and the food quality poor ( if garlic bread is free i wont complain but if im paying for it dont dont dont give me stale flat sub rolls disguised as garlic bread.. its imbarrassing for you and very annoying for me) was too much. The replacement food tasted and smelled like burnt plastic ( unfortunately not an exaggeration it was very disconcerting it was not eatable)Ive eaten at casa many times doubt if im going to give them another go...there are too many excellent restaurants in buffalo to deal with this.
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS....Did you take French in school or did you take Spanish? Why do I ask? Because you will not understand the meaning of Casa Di PIzza. See, casa means house. So you are literally going to a house of pizza here. Except one thing. The house itself is not made out of pizza. I think this is something that can be solved though. All they have to do is cook a pizza big enough to cover the walls inside and out. This way it will be like a veneer of pizza engulfing the whole surface of the place. Then it will truly be a house of pizza. Until then. You just gotta look at things differently. I will help you out. If you see a business called house of shoes... it doesnt mean the house is made out of shoes. It just means they sell shoes. I know it can be confusing.
Forgot my order. Had to go in and ask at the desk 6+ times if it was ready because the lazy girl at the desk couldnt go out with our order. They asked how I wanted my beef and I said medium. Got a charred piece of dead cow. Almost un-eatable. Found some pill at the bathroom. Donno what it was. Threw it in the toilet. Get new cashier please.

2022-06-04My family and I checked out JJs as part of our self made challenge to try a bunch of different pizzerias around the WNY region. We ordered a large cheese and pepperoni and we all thought it was incredible! The crust was thick but the pizza itself was still somehow crisp and not soggy! We will definitely be back here again for pizza 🙂

2022-01-25This was absolutely delicious. Hidden Gem. I came to Buffalo for literally 24hrs. I was in the mood for Italian and this place was around the corner from my hotel. I was feeling lasagna (they didnt have it) but the Chicken Parmasian was my next option. THE BEST! The marinara has a sweetness to it along with the seasonings. Did not disappoint. Ms. Priscilla was the nicest and very attentive as well. Would definitely recommend!

2022-04-21My sister and I had to go to Buffalo, she said we had to go to JJs to eat. Happy she took me, the atmosphere was great and the food was even better! First time eating a calzone, yum! Hope to return one day!

2022-05-26For some reason, we are too far out of the delivery zone. I live near Norwood and summer. I would think thats close enough... So we dont buy here as often as wed like because we have to go down and pick it up. The lines arent usually too long, the food is still very warm by the time I get home. We usually get the form free boneless wings. They are delicious and a plus with me having a gluten allergy. They taste great, not so much the second day, but thats most gluten free food. Their fries are delicious and also gluten free, but better enjoyed if you dine in because of the crispy factor. They have a baking soda rinse or coating on them which makes them extra crispy. The spinach artichoke dip is amazing. Can even get it with gluten free garlic bread, I have not sent that anywhere else. The gluten free roast beef sandwich on a kimmelwick roll its so good, I havent been able to find that one years!!. The flatbreads are nothing to write home about, almost everyone has that gluten free flatbread type crust.I do find myself suffering from cross contamination at times, I think, so I would not recommend if you are super sensitive to CC.Overall, definitely recommend, their boneless bites are the closest thing Ive found to sauced chicken fingers all the gluten people can eat!

2022-07-16Pizza wasnt all that impressive. It was good, but the sauce didnt fully cover the dough (which was obviously pre-made and frozen) and the cheese wasnt the highest quality. The waiter wasnt very polite. She wasnt rude, but she didnt smile or say much. Not the friendliest vibe.

2022-01-25If you havent been to Casa DI Pizza on Mohawk Street lately , you need to get there ! Its in the heart of downtown Buffalo. Take a walk , subway , ride down for great pizza , wings and all sorts of great food . The service is awesome , the atmosphere is so fun.The bar staff are fabulous and we have an awesome every time we are there!! Shout out to Jeff and the Crew at Casa !!
