Located in the heart of Beacon, NY - The Kitchen Sink serves up that feel-good food in a cozy atmosphere - you feel as if youre eating in someones home. Providing a mix of dishes allows for the chance to go night after night and get a totally unique taste experience! Great food for sure!
Sat, 10/12 my husband and I went here with a reservation for 7pm (which we made 2 weeks in advance). We arrived @ 6:54pm. We got accused by a very unfriendly hostess for being 30min late . And we were not given a table. Im all about good food but Id rather not being treated this way. This is not a restaurant with a good vibe. Well take our business somewhere else.
Trust me, this is the best restaurant in Dutchess County. The head chef experiments with flavors you would never know worked together until he gets a hold of them. No matter how iffy a food item sounds, he always puts them together in a way that is amazing. Ive been here 7 times and only once was I disappointed (scallop pot pie that was rightly removed from the menu, but not all experimenting will be perfect). The menu changes often. I personally love how the Chef sometimes takes horseradish and dill and changes the way its incorporated into a dish, from steak to salad. I try to chase this around because its so good. Beer and wine selection is excellent. Service is friendly and accommodating. Coffee is French pressed for you right on the spot.So good its crazy.
I have a standing reservation here. The staff is very friendly and informative about their seasonal menu. The preparation of dishes is modern, but the food is comforting and far from intimidating (casual, but fancy enough for a date night). Everything on the menu is delicious. I try to get something different every time I go. The menu is short but there is something for everyone (omnivores, GF, Veg, Vegan etc.).
I absolutely love this place. Across half a dozen visits, the only issue weve had was an appetizer that we didnt order being sent to our table (which they let us keep free of charge - it was absolutely delicious). The menu changes with market availability, so I dont think Ive seen the same items more than twice. That said, everything I have ordered has tasted great, with pretty generous portions. ALWAYS GET THE PICKLES. Theyre only $4 and youll get a different helping of crispy salty veggies each visit. The kreplach app is delicious as well and thankfully a staple that we order every time. Desserts are also top-notch so make sure you save room. Lastly, the beer and cider selection is pretty good. Lots of local brews!
Several people recommended Kitchen Sink to me, and they were so right! They serve delicious seasonal dishes in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We wanted to try everything on the menu! We had the pasta with white lamb ragu and spring peas, and the scallops with asparagus risotto. We had similar dishes at restaurants in NYC and Newport recently, but the food at Kitchen Sink was so much more delicate and flavorful. I will definitely be back to try more things, and see how the menu changes from season to season.
Best brunch place in Beacon hands down! Great dinner/lunch spot too, we’ve been here a lot!! But quick advice: if you want to make Sunday brunch; I suggest showing up at 11am sharp when they open or you’ll be waiting (45 minutes wait). Please fills up in the first 5 min of open.
Had Sunday brunch with our adult children. This is a small, causal eatery with inside dining in the front and covered outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant. Our food was very tasty, although the breakfast burrito was a rather small portion. I had the special breakfast sandwich which was delicious (bacon, fried egg, goat cheese and arugula on toasted ciabatta bread). We definitely recommend this restaurant.
Oh my gosh, what wonderful food and great service. For an appetizer I ordered the kreplach. It was fry with meat inside and a beef gravy. Not what I expected but definitely delicious. I ordered the goulash which again was different than I expected but very good. It was more like sliced meet over some noodles with a creme fraiche on the side. The meat was very tender and easy to cut and cooked exactly as I ordered.I would definitely recommend this place. A little on the pricey side but worth it. Its also a very small house so they only have about 10 seedings in the front of the house and then about 10 in the back yard which is heated during the winter and was quite comfortable.
We were greeted by a server who did not look very happy or interested to see us on a Sunday evening. Once seated we had to wait for a good five minutes to be acknowledged again and given menus. My friend ordered the lamb stuffed eggplant which she had to send back because it tasted like salt was the main ingredient. While the rest of us ate our dishes (brisket grilled cheese and crispy chicken - both of which were only mediocre), our friend had to wait 20 minutes for a new dish to come out.I ordered a glass of wine with my meal which was good, but was never approached again to order another glass which I happily would have done. Overall service was not good.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Went here for brunch, I have to say, it was absolutely amazing. The food was really impressive. I got the brisket grilled cheese and the chicken biscuits. Unreal. Highly recommend this place but make sure to be there early, otherwise you could be in for a little wait.
Creative farm-to-table options here, with beautiful plating and a ton of flavor. Very much enjoyed the tile fish and the mussels / cavatelli entrees. Wine by the glass options are pretty limited, and this seems like the kind of place that should feature some of the many exceptional craft beers brewed nearby, but it didnt.
Excited to come here based on the reviews but ultimately came away unimpressed. The cost of the plates were equivalent to NYC prices but lacking the quality or execution. Wine pours for a glass were insulting and basically forced you into buying a bottle. The wait staff while friendly seemed eager to get us fed and out the door. Maybe it was off night.
Stuck an amazing experience. Every item on the menu had been delicious. We have been here many times and each time gotten something new because the menu changes so often. We will usually read the menu descriptions and go mm I dont know about that and then we eat it and its mind blowing. They could probably work on their descriptions to make their combinations sound more intriguing, but the food is amazing. Tonight we had chicken paprikash and the black bass with beet gratin. The chicken was a shredded and slightly spicy chicken topped with a subtle creme fraiche and a side of pan seared crispy pasta and lentils. It was so good! The description did not do it justice. The black bass melted in your mouth and the beets were perfect. Parsnip latke was wonderful and crunchy. Gravlax gougeres were subtle and tasty. If I could afford to come here every week, I would. It had such an unpretentious vibe with wonderful food, probably the best in duchess. Make a reservation in advance though, it can get crowded.
Really yummy food and a good local drink selection. It would be 5 stars except you have to sit outdoors unless you have an indoor reservation. We walked in with empty indoor tables and walked out with the same empty tables inside. Aside from the seating experience we always enjoy the food here.
Big things do come is small packages, or at least thats how I felt walking out of the Kitchen Sink. Warm, cozy and charming, the Kitchen Sink rallies behind the concept of farm-to-table to celebrate the beauty and fresh ingredients of the Hudson Valley. My only regret was not working up a big enough appetite to finish the beignets we ordered. Reservations are highly encouraged.

2022-02-02It isnt often that we treat ourselves out to a nice meal so my expectations run high and Kitchen Sink was outstanding! From the moment we walked in the door we were blown away by the incredible service and delicious food! This is the way a meal should be enjoyed, we never felt rushed, the staff could not have been more attentive. And the food was INCREDIBLE! It was interesting, presented beautifully and delicious. We will definitely be going back and if we have any occasions to hire for catering, they are absolutely our top choice.

2022-03-042022 Update to my earlier review- because WOW- My family enjoyed the Filipino Pop-up takeout last night, and I’m still dreaming about it. The complex flavors they developed I devoured. I would happily eat any of these soups daily. I highly recommend trying the new KS supper club and pop-ups. Its so lovely to have a switch up, and you always know you are getting the best quality ingredients, local if they can. I can’t wait for the next menu!Absolutely delicious, the flavor development in these dishes is what blows you away. I’ve literally locked the plate. Wonderful gluten free options right on the menu and the menu changes so you always have new items to try. Local ingredients, wines, and ciders. Kitchen Sink is a must, honestly the best restaurant.

2018-04-23@kitchensinknyJust had an absolutely incredible meal at Kitchen Sink Food and Drink! From start to finish it was delicious! Seriously.Started with brisket kreplach and House-made gravlax in a popover. The kreplach us to be a must. There is a copious amount of brisket stuffed into this well spiced and crispy container. The brisket is super tender and juicy as you bite into it. Had to ask for an extra, because it was so good!Moving on - had the porchetta. If youre lucky enough to find it on the menu- dont think, just get it. It was decadent, with a crispy exterior and melt in the mouth inside. Tried the hanger steak as well, with a spot-on chimichurri and an almond romesco that complimented the steak amazingly. Wish I could put that romesco on everything. Whole meal was just delicious. If youre in Beacon, NY and youre looking for an excellent meal- this has to be it. Cant wait to try it again!

2019-03-24I was late for their brunch service, so I came here for their dinner service which was just as good. Kitchen Sink has limited seatings (less than 20 seatings) and I wouldnt be surprised if I have to wait more than 30 minutes during peak times without reservation. Their menu prices were on the steep side considering the portions, but I have to say that their food quality and service was top-notch. I still think about their Pork Al Pastor from time to time...that fatty to lean ratio was just perfect. Definitely a restaurant you have to visit if you are in Beacon!

2017-08-12This is one of my favorite restaurants — every time we have come to the area, we return here! the service is outstanding — friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, but not overbearing. the quality the food is excellent and the portions, though not necessarily large, are filling. i will continue to come back here, because this is truly a great restaurant.

2018-04-28Simple and smooth spot thats not too big (space wise) but delivers on its food, drinks and service. Everything that was recommended by the servers (had two), delivered and hit the spot. I recommend this place if you are looking for a night out with a special someone but arent interested in a tux and black dress dining.
