Kung Fu Tea in other cities:
A little pricier but good variety of drinks. Seating is limited as is normally the case with these tea places but its clean with a nice atmosphere.**I personally especially recommend coming here for hot drinks! They come in nicer cups and its a decent amount as well.Others have said its crowded and I wont deny it, as it can get crowded. But if you can catch this place at a quieter time as Ive always managed to, its not bad at all.
I know they don’t care about their reviews on google but I am still going to say it.I get that there is minimum spending amount required for people who want to use credit card. This is a thing in Chinatown. This is not right but a lot of stores/restaurants/shops still do it in Chinatown. No problem! But you have be consistent. If you are going to do it then do it to everyone; don’t only and just ask Asians to follow your rule.Three weeks ago which it’s my second time, I went to this place get a hot bubble tea. From my first visit, I learned that in this shop when you say you wanna pay with credit card, next they will tell you that they are going to charge additional fee which is 4% on the top of your charge. My second time (three weeks ago), I paid my drink with cash. Next person who is not Asian, the cashier did not say anything at all or charge her additional 4% fee when she showed her credit card and paid for her one $5ish drink. I did not say anything because I thought the policy might have been changed.Today (11/8 Friday), I ordered a drink and said I am gonna use Apple Pay then, the same cashier from three weeks ago, immediately asked my if I have cash and brought up the $10 minimum for using credit card policy. I did tell him what I saw three weeks ago but he just ignored me and repeated the $10 policy again. It’s not right and I won’t be there again no matter what.
Worst bubble tea I have ever had in NYC. The staff behind the counter were chaotic, I had to repeat my order several times. The label was correct but the order was incorrectly made. The bubble was extremely starchy (probably undercooked) not chewy and bouncy as it should be. The tea itself was ok. Disappointed.
Too overpriced. ¢90 extra for a large slush, ¢50 charge for boba, another ¢50 card fee. Brought my total to $15 for two cups. I like going across the street to One Cup Tea as they’re cheaper, quality is just as good and do not charge for boba or card fee. I do like the variety of flavors, plenty to choose from and you get control of sugar levels.
Situated on a corner block, this spot is a delicious bubble tea joint to visit. Personally, my favorites are the almond tea drink (hot or cold) for winter and their passion fruit juice drink (I get this with coconut jelly) for much warmer weather. Honestly, I even sometimes switch these drinks on seasons too. Their are so many other flavors to choose here, both cold and hot. This place is quick, attentive, polite and friendly. Great place to visit if you have an urge for some bubble tea or just a juice or hot drink. I wouldnt recommend a large group here since it starts to feel pretty crowded with 6 folks here. Seating is very limited with just about 4 seats here and its a tight fit too. Clean, pleasant and warm in the winter and fairly cool in much warmer weather too. Definitely a place Id recommend to anyone visiting this Chinatown area.
Im obsessed. Ive been to other bubble tea spots but none have the variety of flavors as this. Ive tried a lot of the teas from the menu and theyre all so different and delicious. My favorite right now is Taro Milk Green Tea. The service is super fast and the staff is very kind. The teas are so good I find myself stopping by at least twice a week.
They are very nasty. Not only that you pay a lot for one of the drinks, they don’t even care about satisfying the customers. I ordered a tea with bubble and after one sip I didn’t like the bubbles and I asked them to change it for one without bubbles and they refused saying that it’s not in their policy. Great way to satisfy a customer! This is why Starbucks is so much better. I’m definitely not going to this chain again and I’ll advise everyone not to.
I had one of the fresh fruit drinks. It was nice but be warned: not all the juice drinks are from freshly squeezed fruit. Most are actually from concentrate, syrup, or bottled. The good thing is that they are all tasty and can be customized to your particular taste. They will tell you which are fresh squeezed.
Too much variety but I love it! What a long way tea has come. Not just your typical Black, Green, Jasmine type teas...add milk, soy, sugar and tapioca pearls, this opens up a whole slew of new drinks on that menu.Service is speedy and if confused as to what to try just ask the staff. Its not really know as a sit down spot so be prepared to take it to go. Seats are very limited!
Excellent place for bubble tea. It is very small and more of a grab and go place rather than a place to hang out. Staff is very efficient and drinks come out fairly quickly no matter how many people are there. As you would expect, it gets crowded on weekend days when the weather is nice.
*CASH ONLY*Decor: 4/5Service: 5/5Drinks: 5/5Everyone loves Kung Fu F.. Milk Tea. Opens later than the other tea places nearby and prices are fair. They speak English so no troubles ordering. It can be either a one or two person operation. Depending on the demand you may have to wait a bit.Taro Milk Tea and Kung Fu Milk Tea at less sugar (70%) was just right in sweetness for me. Great taste. I do not like their boba so I rarely get it. I will recommend their red bean.
Service was really rude here. We simply asked if as according to the sign the milk used was lactose free and the girl serving gave attitude saying its full cream, which she stupidly didnt understand doesnt explain if its lactose free. Worse part is she wasnt nice and didnt understand what was on the sign in her own store. Then she didnt offer us a bag like she had been every other customer. Tea is alright but if you want good tea and good service go across the road to Panda Cafe
My go to bubble tea spot in the area. I dont enjoy bubbles that much but their bubbles have a distinct taste and its the only place I consider ordering bubbles from. I usually go with herbal jelly and almond milk. Everyone is nice but the space is small and seating is limited. Take it outside to the park across the street and watch people play basketball! can get very crowded especially on hot summer days!
I would give 5star for the service and taste and varieties of teas they have. The buubles or man thats realy good. You can get adjust the sweetness of the drink from no sugar to 100% sweet if you need. I like the fact that group of young employees working there happily( its looks like they happy) and they doing it with fun.
This must be one of the smallest Kung Fu Teas I have ever seen. Aside from the cashier register spot, there is barely any space for sitting. Im also disappointed at the hidden prices. Usually, the price you see includes the bubbles but in my case, it was an extra 50 cents. Im not sure if the warm tea is more expensive, but I went in for a $3 bubble tea and ended up paying $4.25 for a warm tea with bubbles and less sugar. I do like that you have the option to choose the level of sugar added though - which includes 0%. The warm tea was actually too hot and burned my tongue - it ended up bleeding! =O
Place was very dirty with filthy caked on soot in the front next to where you check out and they tried to charge 4 percent on the purchase with AmEx card. Never seen anything like that One employee’s boy friend was taking up space where customer should be occupying. No manager and kids running the place.
Come on, I know we came like close to closing time around 9:55pm but they deny us and with other customers also that wanted bubble tea like seriously man? I went across the street they also closed at 10pm but they still made our drinks. Bad customer service if you ask me. Go to Anda’s Cafe.

2022-03-30I know there are Kung Fu Tea places around the country but there is something special about going to Kung Fu Tea in Chinatown in New York City. The place was super tiny and there was about eight people in this tiny place. It is an awesome place to pick up a matcha tea but next time, we’re going to try out a local boba tea place.

2022-05-28ALLERGIES BEWARE! There is DAIRY in the “non dairy” powder! Two staff told me it was non dairy twice. I asked to see the ingredients because I have a deadly allergy. The ingredients list says “whey protein” which is from cow’s milk and can kill people with milk protein allergies. Please see photos of the ingredients list staff let me take. I almost got a tea with it in it. I could’ve ended up in the ER. Vegans-You are also consuming milk and not knowing it if you have had any Kung Fu Tea drinks that contain this powder. Kung Fu Tea, PLEASE educate your staff and don’t advertise a product as non dairy if there is milk in it.

2021-08-20I decided to stop at this tea shop because of their high reviews. I ordered a Thai milk tea with bubbles. I expected it to be slightly sweet and a bit smoothly creamy, that wasn’t remotely the case. It had a strong bitter green tea after taste. Service was mediocre. Don’t get why all the high reviews if they lack customer service and the simple and popular teas are not good

2021-03-03So happy I found Kung Fu Tea! They have a huge variety of teas and I love their „Punch“ options because I usually prefer fruit teas over milky ones. Will go back soon to try more!

2022-06-01Scary-There is indeed Dairy in the “non dairy” powder. Do NOT have the powder if you have allergies or are vegan, because it has whey protein in it, but staff told me it was dairy free and seemed annoyed when I asked for ingredients, only to find out there was milk protein in what they advertised as “non dairy”.

2021-03-23Their drinks are yummy! Really like their passion fruit slush. The only thing I don’t like is their tapioca pearls. They’re on the hard and chewy side. A few times it was like that, I think that’s just how they make it. Other than that, everything has been tasty that I’ve tried so far.

2022-03-07One of the best KFT. Staff always efficient and always have my drinks ready when I order ahead. Extra points for not even having to say my name.

2022-06-01Dangerous! The non dairy powder has milk in it. Staff said it was a marketing gimmick for Jewish customers. Makes no sense. Ppl w allergies please be careful.
