Cool place to check out on the weekend (or weekday if you have the time). $5 admission per person, free for kids under 2. Try some frozen apple cider while youre here! Pretty refreshing :) sunflowers are pretty if you want to pick some to go, get as many as you can fit in a vase for $10!
Worst experience of my life!!!!!! Threatened a mom in front of me to send her to jail in front of her kids because she couldn’t afford to pay $200 worth of cherries. The manager was an absolute nightmare. Literally made 2 little kids cry saying she’s going to send their mom to jail! She had to pay and couldn’t even leave the cherries. Whatever you pick you have to pay for. The catch is that you don’t have a scale with you to know how much exactly you’re picking. Will never come again, will never recommend again! SHAME!!!!
Smallest entrance fee for anyone who is coming from NY. 5$ many things to do. Great food court, fast service . Everyone was making sure the safety and asked people to wear masks. Kids friendly . Long picturesque walk around the farm, many things to see :goats , horse, Little pond with ducks . Variety of apples as well as vegetables, although we were late for that. But I got my Cortland apples , so happy ! Thanks you !
It was nice weekend activities picking own apples and vegetables.-Entrance fee is $5 / person (2yrs or yonder is free)-Apple bag is $1 each but if you fill the bag with apple, they will not charge more than $38 for whole apple bag-I went there on Sep 12, 2020. Plenty of apples. I could also pick grapes, beans, zucchini, green peppers, egg plant and cabbages. It was too early for some type of tomatoes, and brussel sprouts.COVID updates:-You cannot bring your own bags, but they will give you plastic bag bags for free-All stuff was wearing a mask and sanitizer was at the food table. However, I highly recommend yours by yourself for the convenience.-Due to COVID, you are into supposed to sample food anymore
Not recommending this farm as there is $10 per person entry fee. The cherries are $12 a pound. Worse thing is after you pay for the fruits, at the exit, they ask people to open backpack or purse to make sure people are not stealing their fruits. I went to a few other farms for fruit picking (such as Fishkill farm) before and never experienced this kind of customer treatment.
Large farm to go apple picking or take pictures with lots of sunflowers. The surrounding views are really pretty too. There are also lots of other fruits and vegetables to pick along with a duck pond, goats and Misty the horse. The kids can be pulled in a wagon and play in the village. A small general store has a limited selection of food, ice cream, pies, honey etc. This place has tons of potential, it just does not seem as if it has been well kept. With so many farms to go apple picking there may be better choices out there.
This farm doesnt just sell produce; it sells an experience (as well as a variety of other food items). I came here with my family, and we all had a great time. The staff were helpful and had very positive attitudes, but also gave us plenty of space to explore independently. There was a large selection of produce to choose from, and they had plenty of each. All the produce is organic, as they dont apply heavy use of pesticides. Additionally, theres conserves and snacks for sale in the market.I would strongly recommend this place because of the lovely experience.
Family run farm that shows in every way. Excellent fields- wonderful quality and variety of fruit and veggies, not crowded even on busy weekends. Activities for the kids- Tractor rides, a little village, miniature toy tractors, etc. Delicious food- great cider, donuts, ice cream, and chicken fingers and fries - all best in a while! We walked away from our time there and understood why we should get a season pass. Dont miss this place.
We love this farm. Been coming for years. This year we came on a weekday. Only a handful of cars, peaches were ready but not much else. Mid August might be a good time to come. Kids always love the play area. Sad the raspberries were closed so they could replenish for a weekend crowd. They have wagons for rent $5 deposit and you get $3 back upon return. Admission is $3/person and the sampling policy is one per visitor which works out if you just share :)
We visited for the first time this past weekend (mid-June) to pick strawberries. We arrived early at 9:30am and had no trouble parking, though there were a good amount of cars already in the parking lot. Staff was friendly. The grounds are very large and beautiful. There were lots of strawberries to pick in the two open patches. There were a good amount of leafy vegetables (lots of swiss chard, some lettuce, spinach), but none of the ones we wanted (bok choy) left. After picking, we had a delicious cider donut at the concessions stand. They had actual bathrooms which was a nice amenity, and they were clean. They also have a farm store (which due to covid you had to order at a window and someone gets it for you). The play village looked fun, but it was closed due to covid. By the time we left around 11am, the parking lot was full.My only complaint is that it was quite expensive. They charge $5 per person to get in, $1 for each box for picking (cant bring your own), and then the strawberries were $6/lb. Cash only. For a family of 3, it adds up. I guess it was a nice experience, but this wont be my first choice next time.
WOW! This is now our favorite farm. We have been to 15 orchards and farms over the past 24 years, and none of them compares to Lawrence. The selection of pick-your-own veggies (corn, zucchini, green beans, tomatoes, broccoli, kale, kohlrabi, peppers, etc.) and the beautiful fruit orchards (including grapes!) is the best our family has seen. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and made us feel like friends and not just customers. Too bad our kids are grown - or the hay ride, goats, ducks and little barn play area would have been a hit! And it is nestled into the mountains so you have a fabulous view while you pick. Its a little farther from NYC than the others but totally worth it!
It doesnt feel as friendly any more as over the years they have put in more and more restrictions as well as changing entrance fees by the heads. Selections have increased but quality is much lower. Workers are still friendly and the donuts as well as apple cider are still good. Need more restrooms for sure.Felt cheated for the HOT peppers as only ONE type of peppers were hot and the rest werent.
We started coming here in 2015. Now its our Annual Family Apple Picking outing. We love coming here. Today was no different we were able to sit on the grass, talk and have an amazing day and just be ourselves. We didnt even notice that we had masks on. Thank you Lawrence Farms for reminding us that we are #STRONGERTOGETHER#FAMILY#APPLEPICKING#PANDEMIC##CORONAVIRUSYOUSUCK
We wont be coming back. There are better pick your own places which are cheaper and do not change crazy fee for the entrance. We were not allowed to take any personal bags with us into the field. Again, there are farms which do not impose those kind of rules. The farm is relatively small, and not really well maintained (that includes restrooms). If you pick produce yourself it should be cheaper not more expensive, for some reason thats not the case here. In my opinion strawberries didnt taste good either. Hallocks U-Pick Farm is an example of good pick your own farm. No entrance fees, great variety, quality and good prices.
If you’re looking for a fun place to hang out with family, friends or maybe to go alone this is the place to go! The staff there all treats you like family you feel so welcomed! Awesome produce, beautiful views good prices! You have to go and check out Missy the horse and walk around the little village they have, it is so pretty! We can not wait to go back! Such a wonderful time spent on the farm!!❤️
My family loves it there. Their fruits and produce are delicious. Far better than anything you could pick up at a grocery store. The best sweet corn I have ever had. The staff is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. We have visited several u pick it farms in the area. This is, by far, our favorite. We will be picking up a season pass next year for sure.
We went to Lawrence Farm over the past weekend and had a blast! The staff were all kind and friendly. My son had a great time picking apples he loved the little town to play on and the train ride! The food was amazing, the apple cider donuts are out of this world! We really enjoyed our time at the farm and can’t wait to go back next year!
Its definitely one of the best if the reason is a wholesome family outing, fruits are nice and good, and veggies are awesome. Call beforehand (or visit website) If you can get some concord grapes, hot peppers and if your lucky sweet corn on the cob. Have a great and healthy day with kids and adults. There are also other small distractions there like the mini houses and some farm animals.
This is the most meticulous beautiful farm! There is so much to do with incredible produce! The views are spectacular as well. Amazing for young kids and families alike. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. This place is a true asset to the community and we will be coming back every year!
Didnt have the greatest impression for this grape picking experience from this orchard. First, we messaged the orchard on Friday, 09.11.20 asking if grape picking was available for Sunday, 09.13.20 and they replied yes. In addition, we even checked the site as well and it indicated yes as well. Upon our arrival Sunday morning at 10am, we noticed the board indicated grape picking very few available. We then asked why, the staff working there indicated that there was a deep freeze March/May, which killed half the crops. If this was the case, they could have been honest in the message sent indicating very few available for grape picking. We drove two hours to have just one handful after searching over an hour. Such a waste of time. Dishonesty by the company to get business!!!
This is a huge pick-your-own farm, with many types of apples and numerous vegetables available. It is on a huge estate with fantastic views. They do have carts for rental which is a plus. The entry is only $5 per person but the prices are quite high. Lots of parking available and lots of helpful and friendly attendants to assist in traffic management.
Wonderful experience - staff was friendly and helpful. Our kids had a wonderful time picking fruits and vegetables. There was a great variety in what was available for picking. Grounds are well kept and everything is very organized. We will definitely be coming back again!
We went here with my family and i loved it. so many apple selections and veggies. there were tons of pumpkins and the little houses are really cute. the only thing is that is expensive to park, and the heavy stuff weighed is expensive. we just payed for the apples, not peppers and tomatoes, but my kids had a blast.
We went there today and disappointed as there were hardly any strawberries or vegetables left ! But we had to pay 25$ total for 5 of us and also one boy was selling baskets for a dollar each which my little girl brought back empty from the field and had to throw it off ! Either they must shut down the picking invitations to public or should not take money at this point of season where the fields have nothing to offer for the visitors - specially the kids were highly disappointed ☹️
My significant other and I were in the area with our dog and wanted to check out this place and grab some pumpkins. We didn’t know that pets weren’t allowed until we got to the farm, but we figured that since we were only going to quickly grab some pumpkins that it would be okay to leave our dog in the car for a few minutes. When we pulled up to the booth to pay, the first thing the employee said was “we don’t allow dogs here.” She was very snippy about it and we apologized and said we didn’t know of the policy. We were asked if he was a service dog (and he is) so we said yes and the employees staffing the parking area said we were not allowed to have him on the property, even though he is a service animal. She then said that if we wanted pumpkins only one person could get out of the car. We said we understood and were instructed to park in a specific area. It was a very negative interaction and the employees were very rude to us about the fact that we had a dog with us, even though we acknowledged he would not be taken out of the car and that he is a service dog. Because of the negative interaction, we decided it was better if we just left. Instead of parking, we drove towards the only exit and the employee who told us dogs are not welcomed, even if it is a service dog, began screaming to another employee down the road: “THEY HAVE A DOG”. It was so loud and embarrassing and we had to stop and tell someone that we were trying to leave as she continued screaming. We were clearly driving towards the exit and were not trying to park elsewhere. The behavior of the employee was rude and demeaning and we will not go back here because this was such a negative interaction. Given that there are so many other amazing orchards and farms in the area, you are better off picking one and spending money where the employees are kind and the experience is positive. That was not the case here. I wish I could leave zero stars because the experience was so awful.
This is a a beautiful farm with kind and welcoming workers. Entrance fee is $5 but worth it. They give you a wagon to keep your bagged fruit and vegetables. Their concord grapes are delicious. As of Sep 18 2021, they no longer have peaches but have apples, raspberries, grapes, pumpkins, cabbage, sunflowers, eggplant, and more. Farm-wise, they have goats, chickens, a peacock, and a horse. There is a tractor ride we didnt take due to our own time restraints. Mens restroom has a urinal and a toilet. There are picnic tables where you can bring your own food. They also have a small playground area and a tiny train ride for $1. Hay maze was not ready yet, as their hay has been ordered but not delivered yet.
I grew up on a farm similar to this and have many fond memories I carry with me til this day. Family-owned and operated, Lawrence Farms Orchards kindled the childhood spirit within me while roaming their beautiful orchards. The friendly staff only enhanced my experience and the apples were pretty delicious too! A big shout out to the Choo-Choo train conductor for all the laughs! Get there if you can, you wont regret it!
I loved our visit today 10/25/20. Its a great place to spend the day w/family especially if you have kids. Yes, there is a parking fee and the produce prices are a bit high, but I can only imagine the overhead of this place. Our children loved the miniature village, duck pond, plenty of apples still on the trees this late in the season.we hit the snack bar too. The vistas are amazing, the orchards are sprawling. Staff was full of young, helpful kids. A perfect autumn destination
I would not say this is the nicest run farm. Pay for everything from parking to admission. Then pay for fruit/vegetables by the pound. Ends up being very expensive. Also I had a tomato that had a bug in it and was rotten and I didn’t notice when I grabbed it but was forced to pay for it. Not good customer service! There’s way too many other farms to be so strict.
We love this place and everyone working here. Its a real family farm. Grandma is still in the house on the hill and you can find her great grandchildren playing around the farm stand. I hope this place is open so i can bring my grand children some day. If that means paying a few dollars for admission I am more than fine with that. I dont have a problem with paying for what i pick, its what responsible people do. The owners and workers work long and hard to to grow and share some of the most delicious produce I have ever tasted. If you think you should be able to eat your weight in strawberries and not pay a dime, dont go here. If you want to enjoy a real working farm that opens up its fields so we can experience true farm to table, this place is for you. If you show up later in the day on any given Sunday you can find my family picking. I cant think of a better way to spend the day. P.S. This is a honest review from a loyal customer. I hope to be able to say that for many years to come.
I liked the farm it was very big and you were able to pick your own apples. However, it is extremely hilly and you do lots of walking so make sure you wear good walking shoes. It is well kept and very clean. They also had a nice pumpkin selection as well as sunflowers but they were wilted. You really had to look to find good ones. It is $5 to enter and you are given bags to put your personal belongings but it is preferred if you dont bring anything in with you.
Honestly, I dont get why in early Strawberry season they would charge $5 per adult entry. High season, yes. Not only were the price per lb higher, but by the time we walked out entry + product picked, wound up over $60 + total, and we were there just an hour visit. There are better alternatives, just find them.
Went strawberry picking and it was amazing! Strawberries are small but very sweet and have such great flavor! The peas and turnips were so good as well. I love that they tell you in advance which fruits and vegetables are ripe and ready to be picked. One must know how to pick the fruits and vegetables for the best outcome! I had such a wonderful experience here and would definitely come back. $5 entry fee is a reasonable price in my opinion.
I’m a little disappointed. By watching all the good reviews I decided to go to this farm. But it charges for per person, which I didn’t like. I’ve to pay for my 4years son for nothing. Then the guys in the front desk... they were instructed like don’t do this, don’t do that. Really!! We went to enjoy there ... but after listening them I feel like I’m in some kind of school. The price of Some veggies are very reasonable, but some are bit much than regular price. The thing I liked most is verity & space. It’s like a small farm with lots of varieties of fruits & veggies. And of course the staff should behave more friendly... their gesture was not quite cordial.I must tell they have the testiest peach I’ve eaten till now. The Apples was good as well. And last but not the least the pears were also very good.I wish I could give them a 5 star, but hopefully they will improve their service & if I visit there again I can give them a 5 star.
Beautiful, well maintained farm with amazing views of the Hudson valley. The little village for children is adorable. The dogs on the farm are the sweetest things ever! We went strawberry picking this past weekend and had a great experience. As the season has just started, the farm was not too crowded, just the way we like it! Will definitely be going back!
I read good & bad reviews of this place but decided to venture out to the farm with my mom and sisters the last Monday in August. The staff was super kind and the farm is lush and full of fantastic fruits and vegetables ripe for picking. We spent a solid three hours here roaming around. We hand picked tons of fruits and veggies, we visited the farm animals onsite including a peacock, some goats and a horse and we even tried the apple cider donuts and frozen apple cider slushy. This was about a 2 hour drive from Nassau county, long island but it was worth it. Covid measures were taken seriously, the staff was helpful and the prices were fair. I would definitely recommend this farm for anyone looking for a safe, family friendly outdoor activity!
What a great day trip! My family had such a great experience at the farm. My children loved the Little Village and the tractor ride out to pick. We enjoyed an excellent lunch and delicious apple cider donuts. The quality of produce is better than you’ll find anywhere else and what a view! We will be back for sure!
Absolutely love this farm! They are open for most of the year and have the best view. Great to get out not just in the fall but throughout the year for farm fresh fruits and vegetables. My niece recently had her birthday party there, it was great, laid back and they absolutely loved the village to play in.
What a great place to go to enjoy a full day of activities with the family. We travel from the city at least 2-3 times a year to come to this family owned farm. They always have great variety of fruits and vegetable. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of what produce available. Our kids love to visit the goats, ducks, horse, peacock and play in the little village. Thanks for yet another great day at your farm. Well be back soon!
Before you go to Lawrence farms you should know that you will be charged $5 per person including children over the age of 2 and if you happen to want to use one of their wagons to carry back all the fruit that you buy, they charge you $10 for that. So for the privilege of buying macintosh apples at $2.49 a pound Instead of $1.99 at Shoprite, it will cost $30 before you get to the checkout to pay for the fruit that you picked.. I spoke to Jennifer, who said that she was the owner, And she said that she had her reasons ,but would not discuss it. I truly hope somebody sees this and decides not to go and posts on the Web page so that Jennifer knows shes losing business. I certainly will never go there again and I will speak to the school board to make sure we never have another Is class trip at Lawrence farms. Shame on you. If you werent trying to hide it you would put it on your homepage.
I visited the farm with my grandkids and it was absolutely wonderful. The fruits and veggies were delicious and so plentiful, the scenery was beautiful and the orchard itself was very well kept. The best part by far was the staff and the family that owned it! They were all so friendly and you could really tell they love what they do and take real pride in making sure everyone has a good time. I definitely recommend this farm and will be back.
Every single year my family and I look forward to visiting this beautiful, country getaway, as I call it. From the kids town to the rolling acres of farmland, it really is a wonderful place to pick your fruits and vegetables and spend a relaxing day with your family as well. The staff is friendly and kind and the feel of the farm is very down to earth and homey. I recommend this place to everyone.
GREAT EXPERIENCE! Lots of fun activities and lots of different fruits to pick from. Different apples, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, etc. There were animals like the ducks in duck pond, goats and even horses. There was a hale bay maze and a little tractor for us to get around and a little tractor ride for kids. Overall great experience, would highly recommend and I had lots of fun!
Lawrence Farms is always a great experience! When we pulled in we were greeted by an attendant and were impressed by the Covid procedures. Staff informed us about apple varieties that are available for picking and where to find them. They even told us about other produce available. We came for apples but left super excited about green beans. I really like their goats too.
Farm is good but employee are super disrespectful. I said most of them. It happened couple of time with different employees. They forgot that they are providing services and its not hard to show good attitude to other. Totally uncultured act like idiots. I would recommend everyone not to waste money to see there poor attitudes.
My family has been coming to this farm for over 15 years. Unfortunately, it feels very commercialized now and less like a family farm. After not being here for a few years, being greeted with a $5/person admission was a rude awakening. Then, you still have to pay a high $30/bag for apples. Yes, you get “coupons” but it’s savings you really paid for so you’re not actually saving anything. Oh and guess what? You have to get your coupons within an HOUR of visiting. Why?I get that the farm needs to account for a large family buying only 1 bag, but that’s what the overpriced bag of apples was supposed to cover. Now we’re being overcharged twice. Most of the Apple trees have been cut short. Gone are the days where you could use a pole to grab some of the biggest and fresh untouched apples at the top. Staff said every tree is cut to allow you to reach almost to the top. This makes the farm feel less natural and more commercial.Speaking of commercial, the pumpkins are no longer wild on the vine. They’re all pre-picked and placed on a pumpkin patch. Is that still “pick your own”? The selection was beautiful though.Rather than being a day out in the country, this feels like going to a farm based theme park where you’re trying to be sold something every 10 feet. There are moving drink and donut stands. Registers and scales in the middle of farm paths. Rule signs telling you like a child how to act and how much fruit to sample, and of course, that you need to pay for it. The youngest member of our group is 29, we’re not children. Stores don’t do these things to prevent shoplifting.Upon entry, you are handed a map with rules and legal liability disclaimers on it. Is that really necessary? The farm is still beautiful and has a wonderful selection of fruits and veggies, but it really lost that real feel to it. Now it feels like a mix between a tourist attraction and a farmer’s market. One that also needs to lecture you and make sure they get every dollar they can from you.
We had a great time at this family owned farm. We were passing through the area and decided to spend the day. We had a fun filled day picking lots and lots of apples and the veggies were out of this world. The kids enjoyed feeding the goats, ducks, chickens and the horse. I asked my kids on the way home what they liked the most, they responded everything ! but the apple cider donuts are the best!! Thanks Lawrence Farm family for a great time. If we’re back in this area again we will be sure to stop by.
The farm is overpriced. We went there in the morning and farm was already crowded with people. Pick your own fruits and vegetables are overpriced and are not even tasty. Strawberries barely had any taste or aroma. Other vegetables that were supposed to be available were non existent. They let too many people in at the same time, so it is quite impossible to keep social distance. I would not recommend visiting the farm. Farm is poorly organized and extremely overpriced.
I bought a season pass because the experience was just that good. Picked peppers, tomatoes, and peaches. Bought the season pass after I picked, and they deducted my entry fee that I had already paid from the price of the season pass, so they were definitely not trying to rip me off. Then you get 10% off your produce with the pass. Went back the following week and there were more tomatoes than I could even fit in my basket. I love the experience, the view, the produce, and the people. The grilled cheese sandwiches are out of this world. The woman who runs the concession stand takes it very seriously and knows what shes doing. The food I have gotten there has always exceeded expectations, amazing! Will keep going back.
Great place for everyone!! Small fee per person to get in but you’re able to bring your own lunch or buy lunch. They also give you coupons toward your purchase per person. They have a big play village for the kids by the peaches, little petting zoo, and every type of veggie and fruit you can think of to pick. Not over priced like some other local farms. The fresh cinnamon donuts are to die for!! I pick up a jar of their fig spread and other fresh jar’d items. And the view is amazing!!!
I love this farm for the high quality produce they provide but I love it even more for Tank and Diesel. Those two dogs are the best! The family atmosphere at the farm makes it a great day trip for our kids. Everyone is friendly and the grounds are beautiful. Take a trip to Newburgh, you wont be disappointed!
Nice day out for my friends and I. The staff is very friendly and helpful! What a great variety of produce!! The lunch menu is great! We also had a great time at the taste testing counter. Needless to say we all went home with jams, jellies, nuts and apple cider donuts. We’ll be back!!
Lovely place. Friendly staff. A lot of fun jams, salsas, snacks, and candies. PICK YOUR OWN fruits and vegetables by the pound.Signed up for their email newsletters and got notified for when specific fruits were ready for picking! We went cherry picking. The trees were tall and they had ladders available. They have a kid friendly play area with a few animals. There are goats and ducks to feed with quarter machines.Overall nice experience!
First time there and was sadly disappointed. The grounds are nice but the store was horribly sad. Talk about barren??!!???! Not appealing or inviting at all. The food didnt look like something I wanted to eat. OVER PRICED, NO VARIETY, A PIE HERE, A PIE THERE! SMH! I also went to the bathroom which was utterly disgusting! No soap, tissue all over the floor. Bathrooms should constantly be cleaned! Sanitized! At least I know not to go there anymore.
It was a pretty farm if a bit commercial, and the dogs were charming. Prices were steep. Its 5 dollars per person to get in. Entrance fee did come with a 2 dollar produce coupon per entry. However even with the coupons I ended up paying 28 dollars for a basket of peas and a quater full bucket of cherries. They have a concession stand but again prices were high. We ordered 4 fries at 4.50 a piece. They were good but small portions for the price. Lastly, and what really brought my rating down was that their chickens and especially the turkeys looked so hot and unhappy. They had two turkeys that just looked so hot and were huddled under the ramp for shade. I wish I had thought to take a photo.
One star is for the view. First time I went, they charged $5 for entry fee. No cherries on the trees. If you want a bucket to pick cherries, you have to pay. You pay for every little move you make here. I wouldn’t of had mine paying if there was actual cherries to pick or strawberries. One of the staff mentioned they just opened up for cherries a day before. They emptied out the trees to sell to stores and the three cherries they had left on each tree, they decided to open to public. Besides that, I noticed one of the staff was giving to a group of people while I was sitting there. These poor women were followed to the register to pay for the few produce they had collected and their bags were carefully checked. The staff was definitely being racist. She was yelling at them and dragged them to go to the register to pay. I wish I had stood up for them. One woman was close to crying. I will never go back here. Not much produces and staff is racist.
Very rude & bad peoples working in this garden. Also vegetable and fruits very expensive in this garden. Eggplant $4.99 green paper 4.99 all vegetable $4.99 pound they charged. Also all fruits $4.99 pound they charged. I suggest do not go to this garden. I suggest go to another garden. It’s my own experience.
We went to Lawrence Farms with a 3 and a 1 year old. While there, we picked concord grapes and apples. The kids had a great time helping to pick.We were told that this was the busiest weekend of the year and while it was busy, it wasnt awful. We only had to wait in one line and total wait time was 10 minutes. It was fun and unique experience to pick grapes (something that Id never done) although they were very well picked over and it took is quite a while to gather. We had the exact opposite issue with the apples. Despite the number of people, there was an abundance of apples. All produce was tasty, fairly priced (for pick your own), and there was a huge amount array to choose from.Would we return? Absolutely.
Had a great time here! They have excellent fresh strawberries, we got there pretty early like 10:30 so it wasnt super hot yet and there were still plenty of strawberries to go round. However you do have to bend and pick and there are tight rows of fruit so you have to know your physical limits. It gets hot out there! Great activity for kids and adults a like and not crazy expensive
Parking rules needs to be considerate of seniors and people with disabilityAsk an attendant if I can move car closer to the entrance after being directed to the back of the farm and some vacant spots was near the entranceDue to the fact some seniors was in the groupWas told no , a lack sensitivity to special needs groups
This place is beautifully laid out. The management is professional, inviting and committed to excellence of their produce and education of their patrons. I enjoyed the time I spent there and was treated like family. I have and will continue to recommend Lawrence Farms to anyone who’s looking for a laid back, fun filled experience just far enough from the city to feel like another world.
1 word greedy, 1 person $5 dollars and you get $2 dollars voucher to pay for what you will purchase later. So if you have big family in one car and you pay a lot. The prices for those produces are overpriced then other places. yes we do appreciate the farmers hard work but you charge the fee per person and then charge more inside for different items. Good for one time business only.
This place was a google search gone right. You dont have to buy a huge back of apples to pick and throw away later! You can pay per pound and pick other vegetables too. $5 to get in which is reasonable. Apple cider and donuts are delicious. Best kept secret FROZEN APPLE CIDER.theres also animals and a small village people can play with. Loved it.
This feedback is for todays visit 14 October 2020.I took a drive here from NYC (about 1.5 hours) driving the Thruway limits w moderate traffic.I got there about 2:30 PM (they close at 4:00). Still many things to do with that time frame. Less crowded as well.I was ready to pay the $5 admission fee (seperate from other fees and purchases), when the kind lady asked me if I was in the military. (Sign says all US Military w ID - Free). I stated - NO.She asked if I was EMS - FIRE - POLICE, I responded yes and showed her my NY STATE Police ID. She gladly waived the entrance fee and proceeded to provide me with instructions.I rented a wagon for $5 (10 deposit).I purchased about $70 worth of (3) Pumpkins, (19) corn, (24) Fuji Apples, and some candy at the register.*WEARING MASKS OR FACE COVERINGS IS MANDATORY.I noticed everyone complying with this policy even though we were outdoors. When I say that the ONLY people not wearing masks were PAKISTANI and HISPANIC people. This is indifferent, take it how you want to.Especially when they went to see the horse by the stable (by the parking lot). They have the nerve to walk near you w/o a face covering and act like nothing is wrong. In no way does these groups of people NOT wearing face coverings negatively affect the orchard. The same group of Pakistani people didnt want to buy anything, all they did was take photo ops of themselves for their wedding wearing their traditional ethnic clothing near the pumpkin patch. I do remember standing behind them in the line to rent a wagon, they kept complaining that they paid $5 admission fee, they shouldnt have to purchase anything. The lady (orchard employee) stated this is how they make their living. The Pakistanis didnt comprehend this and walked away.Overall, the orchard was very nice. I would love to visit again soon.Thank you.

2021-10-26What a beautiful farm for apple picking and some fresh veggies. I wish I was here 2 weeks before. They still have all the varieties of fresh and juicy apples. We were lucky enough to find some good veggies as well. But since it’s almost the end of October, not all the veggies were fresh enough to be picked. But still we managed to get some good brinjals, peppers, tomatoes, cabbage and corn. And not to miss they serve the most amazing fresh cider donuts. The restaurant benches are arranged at such a picturesque location.Overall we had a great time at Lawrence orchards and I would definitely visit this place next year as well.

2021-09-17This place is hugeee!! We went during September and we got to pick so many apple varieties, pears, green peas, grapes 🍇, tomatoes 🍅, eggplants 🍆, broccoli 🥦, and so much more!! We also saw a sunflower trail 🌻 and I believe we also saw a horse when we first went in the farm. Totally a recommended place for people and families to enjoy the view, fresh air, and the healthy fruits and vegetables. We loved the fact that we picked everything ourselves because not only did we teach the kids where food comes from but that nature is beautiful! 🌷 We also saw a bird nest and we made a ladybug friend 🤣🐞

Im going to different apple farm this weekend thats charging $25 per person..... way more than the few dollars I spent here.

2021-09-07This is one of the most beautiful farm out there. They run everything smoothly unlike other farm is a complete chaos. Most of the negative reviews and complaints are people that are self entitled and doesn’t know what it takes to run a business. Without rules, they cannot run a smooth effective business and they are families that are making a living from their orchard which you have the privilege to come and enjoy the beautiful view with so many fruits and vegetables to buy and take home. They didn’t do anything wrong simply because you aren’t happy and enjoy it your time there. When u enter the orchard it’s their property so u have to respect their property and rules. Check yourself before you complain it’s usually because you didn’t do your homework and you feel some sort of entitlement like they need your presence there but the fact is YOU need them and their business and all their orchard has to offer.

2021-06-14Had such a wonderful day here with my family. We got to pick strawberries 🍓 and saw some animals. My son also got to play in the cute little houses they had for the kids to play in. We also enjoyed lunch after we went picking. It was perfect weather and not overly packed. It was crazy busy but not so bad you couldnt find a seat or parking. People working there were very polite. My friend had a little issue with the food people she said they were a bit rude when she was trying to get her food but the food was good. We had ham and cheese sandwiches and pizza with fries. The milkshakes were also very good. We got their doughnuts to take home which were very good 👍. The strawberries are also very sweet and juicy a bit pricy honestly 6.99lb but the experience was definitely fun. This was pur first time ever doing this so it was great for my son. Definitely a experience I would love to do again when I come back up to visit ☺😊

2021-07-11Beautiful farm with lots of u-pick options. They have berries, cherries, eggplant, peppers, zucchini, kale, bok choy and more. It is $5 per person to get in, then you pay for what you pick. We mainly went for berries but also picked amazingly fresh zucchini and eggplant as well. They also have currant and gooseberries!

2021-08-22We have been coming to Lawrence for a couple years now since we moved up from New York City. Everytime I come, I always leave happy. I have gone to pick all of their fruit offered from apples to strawberries to cherries. Today, I finally had the opportunity to go sunflower picking. I am so glad I did. I was met at the entrance by Joanne and she told me it was 12 to fill a vase, I was able to fit about 36 flowers. She gave advice on where to cut and to clip the bottom leaves. I came back and she even told me I could fit a couple more sunflowers in and it was best to get my monies worth. She then added some of the lythrum growing all over Lawrence and showed me how to clip it down to add to a glass vase when I got home. So often do I meet friendly faces at Lawrence, but Joanne went above and beyond. I know I had seen her before in years past at the donut stand but never interacted with her. Absolutely amazing and that is the experience you will get at Lawrence. You always get your monies worth!! Plus if you have the membership you get free entry and 10% off all produce!! They have an older small themed village for kids that my kids enjoy, so I can not complain! Also, they dont gouge you as other local farms do for a reservation, a tracker ride, etc.

2022-06-27Cute and clean farm and that’s where it ends. Very rude employees, treating guests as thieves in front of their kids - very disrespectful. Entrance fee is $10 and you will end up paying $50-$70 for a small plastic bag of cherries and on top of that they will ask to check your bags and purses before leaving. My kids were very uncomfortable with their behavior and attitude and we will definitely not be back. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
