NO ONE answer the phone. I called to request a refund because I got my tickets in 2020. And now 2 years later it is a requirement to be vaccinated. Well if that was a requirment in 2020 i would have never gotten the tickets because I cant be vaccinated! Box office says I needed to speak to Janet Sanchez but that woman is never there. Everytime I call I am told she is out today or she just left for the day.... no matter the time of day I call. To be located in an educational area, Lehman center has NO education. They want people to donate to them. They got COVID relief funds but these big shots im the schools zalary didnt change. Guess what everyone struggled through COVID it was just your performing arts studio. At least you got some relief funds. People like myself didnt get to get any type of COVID relief but we busted our a$$ in order to keep things moving im this world. But you want to keep our money after waiting 2 years. I am sending this to the attorney general office. Yes! I am very upset!
My wife and along with family and friends went to see the Sonora Poncena. The orchestra and the songs played were great and it bought back some good memories. Unfortunately the sound system was terrible, it was unnecessary too loud. This happened before when we went to see Roberto Roena. Whoever was the audio engineer should have reconfigure the audio and balance the sounds. Lehman College should have a new audio engineer.
Over the years, I have attended the Freestyle Extravaganza here more than once, as well as Diego El Cigala a few years ago. Most recently in April 2022, I went to see Tango Argentina, a dance troupe who performs with the Fabrizio Mocata Quartet. The sound is quite good, the auditorium is not cavernously big, the seats are well-laid out. I am 5 foot 4 and have never had an issue seeing the entire stage.
All areas are a great view. Seats are very tight! There is no control over masking. People sneaking in alcohol and getting very drunk and loud in our area that night didnt let us enjoy every part of the show. They should check bags. And maybe turn the AC on when its hot?
Lehman performing arts take the covid 19 pandemic...extremely serious. The check points security were efficient , professional and pleasant. Also entering the arts the greeters were pleasant...the facility was spotless and I felt extremely comfortable watching the performance which was excellent!!Considering whats currently sadly occuring at the broadway shows,I would highly recommend supporting and attending Lehman College Performing Arts shows
I loved the concert at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. It was performed by a group named Brazilian All Stars. They were great! The music was great! What made this concert even better was that it was free! I look forward to going back to Lehman Center for their upcoming shows. I am definitely happy that I went and would recommend that everyone go to the Lehman Center to see their shows.
This is my second time watching a show at Lehman Center and the only reason I give it 4 stars is because the bathroom situation needs to improve. The lines are outrageous at any time. Last night they had people run outside in the cold weather into another building to use the bathroom and there was still a line there. Otherwise, staff is very friendly, stage sound is great, loud, and clear. Even though we sat close to the back we still had a decent view of the stage. The theatre is not too big and there was plenty of street parking. By the way, I saw the Bachatero Hector Acosta and he was soooo amazing 😊
The A free wealth management group used Barbra Corcoran brand to promote a weekend stock option course for $ 997 for 2. Barbra did tell her story after the sign up. She said NOTHING about the wealth management plan, the smart ones were the ones who didnt go for plan and listened to Barbra story for free.
The place was good the concert was terrific my only complaint was the lady that was guiding us to our seats, she sat me in a different row and then came at me very unprofessional that I was setting on the wrong place, my friend you guided me to those seats, but besides that everything was fine I will return
I Always have a fantastic evening @ Lehman College, unfortunately this last event 11/19 was just disappointing & distasteful. A complete flop. The event was Celia, the play. Celia was a no show. There was a change & the had a dancer singing Celia songs. Im blessed that my daughter & I were fortunate enough to see the Celia play @ New World Stages on Broadway. Lehman dropped the ball with this event.
Went to see Elvis Crespo in concert and it was amazing. The Lehman Center was spacious, clean and the staff who were working were top notch 👍 They had a lot for parking and the $10 was worth not looking for a spot and it was close to the entrance of the campus. Overall a great experience and cant wait for the next concert there
Good value for Your hard earned dollar. Clean. Comfortable seats. Clean bathrooms. Appropriate temperature. Good selection of talented, varied, national and international artists and companys. Easily accessible via Mass Transit. Problems resolved relatively well. Recommended.
I attended Lehman College thirty years ago, and decades later, work nearby. They put banners on the outer fence advertising various performances. Ten years ago, I took a chance and saw Chinese acrobats. I saw them again the following year, as well as several other performances of different kinds in later years: jazz, Japanese drums, ballet, and performance art.The shows are high quality. The seating is comfortable, and the service is courteous and efficient. They have recently renovated the entrance, and its nice. Its not extravagant, but it is clean, and comfortable. If you live in the Bronx, you really should visit the site, and attend a performance that interests you. Its more expensive than Netflix, but hopefully, youll have an experience that you can take with you. Also, as far as pricing goes, its a fraction of what you would pay elsewhere. If you dont live in the Bronx, its worth the trip.
I have seen many shows at Lehman and have enjoyed them all. They offer a wide array of shows for all tastes. The venue is the right size so that wherever you sit you dont miss anything happening on stage. Prices are also reasonable for great entertainment unlike venues like Barclay Center and Madison Square Garden. The crowds are also more tolerable. I highly recommend Lehman Center.
Entering the theater was not well organized. It took a long time to get from the lobby to the auditorium. Long lines for womens bathroom and only one stall for mens bathroom. Show was adjusted from The Life of Celia Cruz to A Musical Tribute to Celia Cruz because the theater was not ready. The show however was great.
My high school graduation was conducted in this auditorium, which is very well kept and serves thousands of seats for the audience. I was struck by the roominess of the stage and cleanliness of the center. However, I must rate four stars due to the rudeness of the security guards. Although I understand theh must execute their responsibilities, a little kindness does not hurt. Overall, I would recommend your party to rent this hall!
I bought tickets for my parents as a gift. They loved every moment of the experience. The road to Lehman Center parking was clear, the parking was free, and the concert was great. Overall, an excellent experience and Id buy tickets and send them again. In fact, Id get a ticket for myself as well.
My favorite experience at Lehman Center is the Golden Oldies concerts. I have attended several of these, and they are the best! Its great to have this experience close to where I live, and the ability to park easily. The acoustics in the theater are excellent, the staff is accommodating, and the performances are top notch. Excellent value for your entertainment dollar!
I seen several shows here and Ive enjoyed them all, the celebrities really try to put on a great show. However, I do have to voice this one complaint. Its about the audience members. People arriving up to a half hour or more late, other people just refuse to sit down and keep blocking the aisle, while others keep going back & forth making impossible for others to see & enjoy the show. I understand that people need to use the bathroom & such but I had to stand up to allow people through at least 7 times. Shouldnt happen. I dont enjoy paying all that money for my family & me just to keep getting constantly disrupted.
It use to be really nice but, now the concerts do not start on time. They make you wait for 30 to 40 minutes to start the show it used to be really good now not that much. I have been seating here to see hector acosta since 7:40 is 9 and the guy has not even show totally disrespectful and disappointed
Lehman Center for the Performing Arts provides great concerts and programs perfect for the entire family. The venue is very nice and clean. Whether you are attending a concert, a play or dance performance, I would highly recommend everyone to attend their events for an enjoyable experience.
A nice venue but with a warped pricing structure, paid $65 only to end up in one of the worst seats in the venue. I think youre better of paying for cheaper tickets. The queue for the toilets is also very very long and the police presence in the actual venue is unnerving. They should remove the front two rows, they are so badly placed and yet considered the best seats. Even the far left hand side of the front row is the highest price tier, youll be craning your neck with a view of almost nothing if sat there.
I dont drink coffee so no full disclosure necessary. The actual theater is fabulous but what they DO there, that goes beyond fabulous. This past spring we saw two world class ballets in our own backyard. It was a family friendly program that included Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty by two different Russian troops. It was so family friendly that kids were admitted for TEN BUCKS!! We had to pay more, of course, but still it was quite a bargain for two priceless afternoons.
I have been to Lehman several times to attend concerts. I have never had issues coming in, being helped to my seat or enjoying the events. It can get crowded in the lobby while waiting to be seated but that is nothing once you sit and watch shows. Myself and family loves attending all show @ Lehman Center. Excellent staffs there, and very organized.
Love, love this theatre! I have been coming here for over 10 years and have seen so many different salsa performers, show, concerts! I love that the theatre has a cozy kinda feel to it......the seats at any price are great, the ambiance has always been with class just an all around 5 star venue.
If you want to hear the best in Salsa this is the place. However, the place is beginning to show its age and is need of some upgrades. I was under the impression that they had received a grant to renovate the theatre, lobby and other areas, which was announced at a performance I attended, but have yet to see any work done. ????????? The lobby is a madhouse especially during intermission if you are trying to use the very limited number of bathrooms. The music is great, the location is great and parking is a piece of cake.It still gets four stars because to the music.
I have been to Lehman several times to attend concerts. I have never had issues coming in, being helped to my seat or enjoying the events. It can get crowded in the lobby while waiting to be seated but that is nothing once you sit and watch shows. The acoustics are great and the actual concert hall felt cozy and welcoming. I also love that Lehman has an amazing roster of artists and ticket prices are accessible for most people. Definitely will continue to come to Lehman!
Went to see the Celia Cruz experience. After we were seated we were informed that due to technical difficulties they would not be able to perform the show. We were told we had 10mins to go to the box office for a refund. There was a mass exodus from the theater & total choas as ppl went to get a refund. The box office closed because of the amount of ppl. They were disorganized & unprepared. Disappointing.
Took my wife who lived out the Salsa hey-days, herself, to see Willie Colon and his band a while back. We liked everything about the Lehman Center and applaud the effort to bring quality entertainment to the borough. That said, we both agreed that the acoustics of the auditorium left a lot to be desired, unfortunately.
We have seen several shows and concerts at the Leman Performing Arts Center and loved them all. Very comfortable seats and great sightlines from just bout anywhere. The shows and concerts that we saw were also top notch. The annual Rock and Roll concert was terrific with very good acoustics. We definitely recommend the Lehman Performing Arts Center for top quality shows and concerts.
I attended the Latin Legends with special guest Gilberto Santa Rosa concert at Lehman today September 22, 2018. The performance was superb! However, due to a recent seating renovation, seating was a disaster. Incredibly long lines for seating and, once seated, other customers appeared claiming they had purchased the same seats. In addition the parking lot was completely unattended, both before and after the concert, resulting in confusion and long lines entering and exiting the lot.I have been going to Lehman concerts for many years and have never experienced such chaos. Eva and Nereida: get your act together! Otherwise, you may begin to experience huge drops in ticket sales and many more empty seats. The artists and the public that support the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts deserve so much better.
Very disappointed with Lehman Performing Arts Center. Went with my sister and niece to see the Celia Cruz (Nov 2019) show and after maneuvering through hundreds of people in the halls without any assistance from Lehman ushers, discovered that the performance had been cancelled and was given a mere 10 minutes to go to the box office and request a refund. So could you just imagine, hundreds of people aiming to the box office! 10 minutes! are you kidding me? There was chaos this particular evening due to Lehmans below standard management direction. Lehman Arts Center did have a show replacement, but why did they wait until we were seated to inform us.We were not even informed when we picked up our tickets there the same day of the performance. Go figure....
Unfortunately, the show did not go on.We sat there for almost 45minutes to then hear that there were technical difficulties and she would only sing Celias song.We were told we had 10minutes to get our money back. It was chaos. People were very upset at the timing of when we were told.Since they knew this a better arrangement should have been done in an orderly manner to get slip for money back. The ushers should have given the slips and done aile by aile. No, every rushed to the box office. There was pushing and shoving, even people just pushing ahead of everyone else.It was very, very dis appointing. And I have tickets fo 2 other shows. Badly executed.
Lovely theater and campus. Though I must say the walk from the bus/train is quite a distance, its a beautiful spacious place to be! A suggestion is there should maybe be a trolly that picks u up and take you to the theater. But if not just prepare to walk for a lillte like maybe 10min or so. ;-)
I had a wonderful experience. Visited the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts for the first time when I went to see the Ednita Nazarios Concert. The location is excellent - so close to my home and the ambience was great. I went with a group of family members and we all had a wonderful time. Thanks.
Me and my husband went to the lehman center for the first time to see Oscar d leon in May it was great well organized. The only thing I had a little issue with was the fans coming to the stage. I believe it is concert the the artist was trying to bring them down. That is really not good. there was officers there i saw but I think it needed to be tighter. Everything else was great. The performance was beautiful. I loved it. I hope you can bring Ismael Miranda to Lehman I love that artist. Thank You keep up the great work.
Have only gone there a few times, but always have left with a good experience feeling. have seen a few concerts and also some friends who belong to a church have held music fests there also. plenty of room in the seats, properly temperatured all the time and the staff certainly makes you feel comofrtable. so all around a 5 star rating !!!!!!
On Nov 16 My friends has a surprise birthday present to a muscial play Cecila Cruz at Lehman Performing Arts. After traveling thru Uber to get to event we arrived we saw people being existed out complaining arguing that the event was cancelled. We proceed to continue to enter police activity was present at the door the police told us not to continue to go in the show was continue due to problems with musicians & actors not wanting to perform we were in shock. Many others were very upset & left we were told we would get fully refunded. It was a very cold night & now we needed to get another Uber to get back that night in traveling only cost $130 unreal. This was my birthday gift NO MUSiCAL SHOW! What a BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!!!!! Someone is responsible to refund the cost of these tickets. How would u Lehman respentatives feel if this happen to you or someone in you family! NO SHOW!!!The WORST experience!!! My sister is fighting to get reimbursed 6 tickets that’s alot of money! Yet NO REIMBURSEMENT! WE WANT OUR MONEY BAcK! Will NEVER go BACK there! Horrible experience. ReFUND people money!!!
Full Disclosure: This review was written in exchange for $5 Starbucks gift card. Im not a reviews person but I agree its important to acknowledge good service, experiences, food, entertainment, etc. Some of us have limited disposable $$$ therefore we have to be selective where we spend our dollars. My wife and I have visited the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts for a Dru Hill Reunion concert featuring Jon B & Kenny Lattimore. Lehman Center was clean, organized and security was tight. The staff was friendly, courteous and we loved that they featured Mom & Pop kiosks selling everything from Fried Chicken to Empanadas. My only gripe is they stopped serving alcohol a bit early. But hey, we all gotta drive home safely, right? I recommend Lehman Center. check their schedule. They feature some very good musical acts very cheaply.
I have been to a couple of latin concerts at Lehman and have enjoyed all the concerts. Very entertaining and I will definitely go to more concerts at Lehman. It is a place where you can go to see a concert and it does not cost too much. I gave four stars because you have to wait on long lines to use the bathroom.
I just sent my 5th email to the president of Lehman College Daniel Lemon in regard to the last minute cancelation of Celia the Musical. The Lehman Box office as well as Lehman itself has been non responsive. What is happening with the refunds that were promised to hundreds of people? This is not the way to treat loyal customers who pay good money to see performances at Lehman. I think it is safe to say that this has left a bad taste in many of our mouths as well as making our decision to pass on any future shows. This is not going away people!Ellen MatthewsOut $75 for the performance that never happened
The concert Hall.is located within the college campus. But.the guard would not let cars in. You have to park on the street, where is not very safe. They are eliminating people form attending concerts, because there is no parking. It is rediculous. The staff was very friendly. It.is a good size concert Hall. We went to see Cinderella ballet performed by Moscow Festival Ballet group. They have no vendors inside. Some strangely looking guy was selling candles, mnms and coffee.for a fortune. Seats are narrow. Overall... doubt, we will be coming back.
I purchased front row seats three months ago to see Tito Nieves concert. You would think they would call you out of courtesy to let you know that they had some reconstruction happening and the seats were eliminated that I purchased were not available and maybe offer you some different seats on the house without wanting to charge me the difference on the seats before I get to the event. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A VERY SPECIAL EVENT FOR ME AND MY DAUGHTER JUST TO BE DISAPPOINTED. Very sad very unprofessional on that PART of Lehman College performing arts center. QUESTION SO WHOS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PERSON OR PERSONS DROPPING THE BALL, I THINK THEY ASSUMED THAT I WOULD BE HAPPY JUST TAKE WHAT THEY HAD TO OFFER, I THINK NOT! WOW VERY SAD VERY VERY SAD ON THEIR PART. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND LEHMAN CENTER TO SEE A GIG. SO SAD.....
This is a very remarkable theater complex not only in The Bronx in particular, but also in New York at large. What I like the most about the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is the ability of its curators to always surprise the audience with fresh, cutting edge, and classic performances covering the complex richness and multiplicity of nuances characteristic of Latin American and Caribbean cultural manifestations.
Very nice performance hall...all seats seemed to be good, at good prices...frinstance, my group of 9 saw Polish Mazowse performing, we had gotten the mid-range priced seats, and they were at balcony level, kinda close...the same at Koch Theatre in Lincoln Center wouldve cost 4x as much!
I am an alumni of Lehman College and have been attending performances at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts for two decades. It is a great local venue with plenty of seating and great acoustics. The Lehman Center always provides a nice variety of great performances at reasonable prices.
As always Lehman Center for the Performance Arts is a little piece of paradise in the Bronx for all true artists. Artists in every sense of the word. If you looking for diversified unique and great entertainment in the Bronx, Lehman Center for the Performance Arts is one of your best options. 🎵🎹🎺🎻🥁📽🎬
The Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is a gem in the Bronx. The Center is a big venue but you dont feel lost in it. You feel like you are right in the performance. Ive been here twice. The first time was for a Michael Jackson celebration and the other time was for Parranda Navidena,
I love all the performances Lehman Center. My wife says it is good location excellent acoustic and as a women she is very happy with that the place is very clean. Also the location is easy to get via driving or even by public transportation.I am not Llyudmila.I am Alex.
Im a HUGE FAN of MICHAEL JACKSON! 👀💝the TRIBUTE 4 MJ done at Lehman Center. The performance was simply AMAZING! Next time its GIVEN, 👀PLAN 2 b RIGHT BACK THERE AGAIN, with my grand KIDS whom can dance the 🌙 🚶 💃 dance similar 2 MJ! 👀Wish they had some original tee shirts bearing that performance! We ❤💝💗 U MJ 😍😘😀
Went to see Diego el Cigala earlier this April. As always, the sound team was subpar, to the point where it was easy to read the frustration off of el Cigalas face. There were a few times where even his pianist had to pitch in with some hand signals to help guide the sound team. Ive done a few years of live sound mixing where the venue was always different, and attended multiple events at Lehman, el Cigala was by far the biggest name, enough to know that the sound mixing at this place regularly blows.Really wish my experience of seeing el Cigala wasnt so tainted.
The worst. We just went to a SALSA music concert and people in the audience were playing MARACAS. Since when are people allowed to bring instruments to a music concert? They need to make an announcement at the beginning of the concert to make sure instruments other than the ones the band on stage are playing are not played during the event . Very unfortunate!
The center is ok. The way Lehman sell the tickets and confirms the tickets through LocBox sucks. When LocBox sends invitation when gifts are given, the invitation has no information about the actual event! I tried calling the Box office at Lehman and the staff was incredibly insulting. They kept saying that they did not understand what I was saying. I asked to fax the sheet that I received so that they can see what I am talking and the Box Office Manager Nereida told me that I could fax it but she was leaving?Really? The invitation was for my father for a June 4th Salsa event. The poor man did not know what the invitation was about. I detest the people at your box office. Lack of professionalism and lack of communication skills.

2022-05-14This is a great place to hold events but not really Hip Hop or events where people are inclined to dance due to the permanent seats in the auditorium. Theres a great stage and lighting is efficient . Im guessing that since the venue is a college they dont allow alcohol to be vended on premise so there were many disappointed patrons because of this. I was attending a huge iconic Hip Hop event with Bronx Hip Hop pioneers and legends. The ushers were a welcome addition who helped the patrons locate designated seating. I had a great time but wish there was space for those of us who like to get our boogie on without disrupting the view of others and security asking for us to be seated...at a HIP HOP event lol.

2022-05-31I usually deduct one star per difficult situation. My first issue was after I purchased tickets. I received an email confirmation with a link to access my tickets. Unfortunately the link didnt work so I called the box office. TEN DIFFERENT TIMES over two weeks!!!! The message states the box office hours and if one should hear the recording, they should leave a message and they will return the call. That never happened. Finally I was able to get through. They were very apologetic but never offered any reasoning. I did eventually receive the proper link and saw The Purple Experience. PHENOMENAL SHOW! Marshall Charloff was spectacular as Prince BUT, that is not where his talent ends. He is a master guitarist. Very very talented front man and band.My last issue is, they do not sell wine at the concession stand. Otherwise, I love the venue.

2021-11-21Lehman Center is great for affordable shows. They have an annual freestyle show that I havent missed in years. The variety is crazy. They have bachata, ballet, orchestras, and tons of tribute bands for all genres. On top of making it affordable, they do holiday specials on ticket prices. Parking on the street isnt that bad. You can find something within walking distance in a bit. The easiest thing is to pay $10 cash for parking across the street.

2022-06-21I went to high school at then Walton high School right next to Damon college. Some of the best years of my life and I often hung out at the track with some friends. The campus at Lehman college is absolutely gorgeous and as always the professors and students attending are always so polite and welcoming. I recently went for my nieces graduation which was held at Lehman college and man did it bring back memories. For anyone into performing arts you should really check out in college even if its just a quick visit.

2022-04-15Ive seen several shows over the years, and I can say that most of the seats on the stage level give you a pretty good view of the entertainment. I highly recommend this venue as one of the few Bronx facilities that offer a very good to premium entertainment at reasonable prices. I only saw one show from the balcony, but I prefer to sit at stage level for a better viewing experience.Ive seen Gladys Knight, Parliament Funkadelic with George Clinton, a Mothers Day show with Ted Mills, from Blue Magic, Ray, Goodman and Brown, and the Stylistics, with Russell Tompkins Jr absolutely killing it.I highly recommend this venue for family shows because they have $10 tickets for children under 12(?),I believe, which is a fantastic deal.I saw the Shaolin acrobats there and it was a marvelous exhibition. So look out for those family friendly shows that wont break your wallet. Now,of course, those were some years ago, but it was quite a treat.I want to commend the event organizers for providing many world-class cultural events from all around the world. From the Russian ballet, to Cuban salsa, to Mexican musicians, and their annual Forever Freestyle concert event that features legends of hip hop and freestyle. That event is happening April 30th. Check it out. The photos below are from the Selena tribute by the group Los Chicos del 512. They were very good and the crowd was really into it. Take advantage of a local venue that cares.

2022-06-27Beautiful building. The place is well kept and clean. The seats are very comfortable. I attended a graduation at the center and it was a pleasant experience. Im now looking into attending a couple of concerts in the building.

2022-05-22The venue is great and the seats were comfortable but the sound was too loud and not very good. If the singers did have good voices it was hard to tell by the sound system. FYI I sat up on the mezzanine.
