Apparently my last review got nuked for unknown reasons so Ill post again in hopes that improvements are made to get back to what this place used to be:I used to love this spot because Im a rabid street taco fan. But the past couple of months it seems to be going downhill. The portions (taco meat and other items) have been getting progressively smaller and plated **terribly**. Our tacos were so wet the tortillas either crumbled before you could finish them and / or were ridiculously greasy. The sad part is this is just plain laziness on the part of the cooks. As far as smaller portions go: look, we know things are getting more costly (for obvious reasons). So find other ways to make up for this. For example: better plating...I really hope improvements can be made because its clear from my review and others that something is going on the past couple of months.
Always good food. Defiantly authentic, I think most people are expecting to have their mouth explode with exotic flavor but just like any other cuisine it is what family makes for each other and tastes great without a huge explosion of flavor. Good service and everyone is very nice.
A definite revisit for this establishment.Dined inside, although not the cleanest place, others were worse.SUPER DELICIOUS and SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF.I ordered the Parrillada meal. A hot sizzling cast iron skillet serving multiple delicious meat selectons and shrimp with rice, beans, salad and 2 tortillas. So much there is enough for 3 meals although I took some home for a 2 meal delight. 😋There is the counter with chips in a bag and a salsa bar to try different types. I tried 4 of them and they were all delicious in their own way.Its in such a strange location, I pass by almost every day and after 4 years being opened I stopped just last week, my loss. The best part was no stomach cramps like the other garbage mexican restaurant I also reviewed earlier.SO... if you want delicious authentic Mexican food with a staff that treats you right then be sure to visit here. YUM! Ill do takeout next time.
We eat here every few months, and always have a great time. The staff is friendly, service is prompt, portions are generous, and the food is delicious. Chips and salsa come with the meal - and the salsa bar has a selection - the hot salsa is actually hot! Highly recommended.
Perhaps we went on a bad night. Not even close to the taste or experience we were hoping to have for the high price. There was no water available when we asked. Outside of the entrance was a large pile of cigarettes on the ground and something smelled strongly of sewage throughout the parking lot.. We ate what we could and quickly left.
As a certified authentic taco critic this place did well. They had an horchata machine which is like.. mega rare. There are none in wny as far as Im concerned so thats a major plus. The carne asada tacos were dry but thats typical for a place that cooks in batches and leaves them in a hot well. If done fresh this place would rock.Al pastor and rib eye would be what I suggest for those who are passing through and want a good taco experience. The two young girls holding it down while the guys were out were awesome. Thank you both
This has to be the Hidden Gem of Batavia. The tacos are out of this world. The little salsa and chips bar is fantastic. Best Mexican food has to be hands down some of the best tacos ever. The owners are super sweet and the facilities are very clean. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.05/15/2020 UPDATE: this little restaurant continues to be outstanding in their food quality and their service. So glad that they are staying busy and will probably ride out the shut down. If you havent already been there, go and try out the food. You wont be disappointed!
Do yourself a favor and stop by! Great value and delicious, authentic food! Everything is delicious and quick to arrive. The chips/salsa bar has multiple different salsas to try and all the fresh cilantro one could ever want! Great lunch spot if youre looking for a quick bite.
Decided to stop in after a long day of hiking at letchworth. What a nice little place! You order at the counter then sit a table. The food was fast and very delicious! The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly! Did not get to try the nacho bar but that was our timing as we got there late. The only thing is we had plastic forks and knives ( not sure if it was due to covid?) Will definitely go back!
1st time eating here. The service was excellent. The young woman who took our order was very helpful in explaining the menu. I ended up ordering tacos. The corn tortillas were awesome I tried the flour tortillas as well and they were just as good but next time I will get definitely be ordering the corn tortillas tacos. So many different options of meat for tacos. Prices were very reasonable too. 5 Stars from me!
Staff was super friendly! The food was great, fresh, and affordable. Definitely aim to come back if were in the area again. Had the Pulled Pork, Chorizo, and Steak taco. The steak was the weakest but still great. Pulled pork was my favorite, followed by the Chorizo that didnt have a lot of heat at first but mid-taco it was.
My wife and absolutely love TRUE Mexican food. This place has it for sure. The food is awesome as well as plentiful. The staff is on the spot with service as well as any questions you may have. You order at the counter after you pay, and depending on how busy they are they will bring it to you or they will call you up. I would come back here again and again.
Drove out here from Cheektowaga for a different place but decided to go here instead. I had the taco salad and it was awesome!! The person I was with got a beef taco and a steak taco and loved the beef taco especially! Will definitely go back here! They have a cantaloupe drink there that is amazing!!!
It didn’t look like much from the outside but I was very impressed after walking in. The phrase, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.“ definitely implies here. This place is amazing. Their prices are pretty standard across the board. You make your order at the counter and seat your self, then they bring your food to you. They have a self-serve condiment bar where you get your own chips and has five different kinds of salsa. pico de gallo, onions and tomato. I love tacos de lengua and most of Mexican restaurants I go to only serve it on a Wednesday or a Sunday. It is served here every day. Now let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of why you’re here. Tenía dos tacos barbacoa y un taco de al pastor. I ordered two tacos Al Pastor and one taco Barbacoa. That was plenty. They came out with two corn tortillas each and way more meat than I expected. Definitely more meat than all the other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. I was stuffed. Now quit reading this and let’s go get some! Lol. Enjoy!
Great food and excellent service. Slow Sunday night and the family wanted mexican. Nothing open in most of Erie County for sit down. Decided to make a trip to Batavia and Genesee Cty for dinner. Well we weren’t disappointed. The quality of the food, top notch. The chicken was tender, the beef chimichangas were very good. The fajita burrito was huge and done to perfection. I’d have sautéed the onion and peppers a little more but that’s all I have to complain about. The horchata was delish too. A must stop if you’re craving mexican in Batavia.
My Gosh. I walked into this place thinking it was gonna be your typical Mexican food restaurant but I was pleasently surprised by how fantastic my experience was. The staff was extremely, extremely friendly. The food was phenomenal. I walked out of that place feeling like a triple stuffed burrito. This place changed my perspective on life and gave me hope for humanity. I am now a changed man. All jokes aside dont hesitate to come here it was an A+ experience.
The food is excellent!!..I actually much prefer this place over the other Mexican place in Batavia....not meant as a putdown. We had the choripollo Plato and the shrimp fajitas. Both were terrific!. I also love the salsa bar with the different salsas to try. Very friendly staff. Give it a try..its great!
Absolutely amazing dining experience from start to finish! Staff was attentive, kind and helpful. The food was flavorful, plentiful and authentic. The ambience was out of this world! And a “Chips and Salsa Bar”?! Come on! This place is a must try, diamond in the rough!!!
Put down your Pokermon Gos and eat some of this delicious food. Now, we ordered delivery so I cannot speak to the amount of Tasmanian devils on the property, or if there are in fact any Tasmanian devils on the property. That being said, I imagine its the worth the risk of running into Tasmanian devils because hot dang the tacos and burritos were super duper. Excellent food, comparable taqueria prices, will continue to order. Great stuff guys.
Our fish tacos and poblano chicken were delicious. Chips and salsa bar was also excellent. This was our first dinner here and it would have been helpful to know how to get our food, the otions for dtinks and eating utensils. That did not diminish the deliciousness of the food. The room itself was clean and bright. We will go back.
My fiancé and I frequent this spot, we literally order tacos every week! They have the most authentic tacos and the staff are so friendly and accommodating! My fiancé is from Mexico and was so surprised when our first time here he saw tacos de tripa on the menu, a dish that reminded him of his childhood in Michoacán. Normally, I wouldnt eat tripe but these have become my favorite thing to order! They just know how to fry up the tripe so well!!!Absolutely love coming here and I always recommend to my friends and family! Definitely suggest trying if you are in the area!!
Was pleasantly surprised. I loved that you order your taco and then top it yourself at the salsa bar. Generous portions of flavorful meat (please dont ever start skimping on the meat!) Only negative was the guacamole. It was very runny, like it had been watered down. Switch to a thicker, chunkier guac and its 5 stars!
We stopped here yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The tacos were very authentic and the tamles were darn good too!I personally dont like refried beans from most places, but the ones here are great! The chips and salsa bar is a really cool touch. If you are in the Batavia area, like REAL AUTHENTIC Mexican, try this place. Seriously, stop reading and just go. DO IT NOW!
We were driving through town and wanted to stop and try this Mexican restaurant. Since we were traveling fortunately we decided to call and confirm their closing time which was listed as 9:30 online. When I called I held on for close to 10 minutes and then they hung up the phone.
I love the food BUT very disapointed that 2 other customers and I were all wearing masks but the cook preparing food was not and neither was the register person cashing me out. I love the food and prices but am going to keep my distance for some time until the COVID-19 situation settles down.
Horrible serviceHorrible foodKinda almost Forced to leave a tip on a take out order picked up in restaurantLeft and threw it all out in the trashNo meat in the enchiladas horrible no cheese just taco shells that were terrible- cook totally unmasked the entire time - I should report it to the health dept for that
If there was a no star review I would choose it all the staff had the same gloves on for the duration of about 45 minutes and never changed them once they touched lettuce peppers with bare hands the girl that was wiping down the the nasty counters with gloves on still used the same gloves after touching other peoples food proceeds to touch all the silverwhere that we had to later use also there was so much cross cantamination you wanted to throw up and that’s not even all the floors where so nasty when you stepped your shoe stuck to the floor also the floor had tones of food all over it and when we got our food 30 minutes later even tho there was only 5 other people there I bit into it and I almost cracked my tooth the rice was soo hard and for the majority of my fajita baritone it was 5” green bell peppers it was horrible all in all worst experience ever i recommend never going there ever.
Staff member are nice, but since its self service, its inconvenient for people with limited mobility to place orders, and pick up the food when ready, no waitress, so basically your on your own when entering the establishment, the food was alright, but not worth driving too.

2022-04-01Came in few minutes after they open so the place was empty. I Tried veggie and fish tacos and I have to say is one of the best tacos I tried on my life, full of flavor. If all the food is as good at the tacos then this is an excellent Mexican cuisine.Food it’s cooked pretty fast and is mostly self serve, they have selection of local and Mexican beers, margaritas and other beverages.Good time

2022-03-21I highly recommend the Al Pastor Taco’s, they are outstanding. I’m in town visiting relatives and am very picky when it comes to Mexican restaurants, but I’ve been two days in a row and may go back tomorrow!

2021-10-25Extremely disappointing.Service and food were horrible.I ordered online, and selected onions and cilantro on my taco, to my surprise they didnt add it. It was expected for me to pack it from their sides area, which is clearly cross contaminated between different salsas and other options.$4 for a taco that barely had any meat on it, it was extremely bland. The chicken soup had two tiny chunks of chicken in it.And the horchata tasted like old sugar water.Dont waste your time and money here. The next step is for them to request that you make and package your own food.

2020-08-26A delicious treat! So nice to finally find a good Mexican restaurant. Great variety of meats to choose from on the menu, and the pork carnitas were amazing. Tamales are very good, tacos are simple. Cheap to add rice and beans on the side, and cant beat a $1.99 margarita!

2022-04-23I had some delicious arroz con pollo driving through the area with a Uhaul and made a quick pit stop for lunch. A solid lunch, 7.5/10 would definitely eat here again if I drive through. Quaint little taqueria.

2019-06-11I ordered the Fajita burrito with grilled chicken. It was very large, like 14 long, with tons of cheese sauce on it .. a big plus. Inside was rude, grilled veggies and the chicken (great only). Flavor was good, though I missed red sauce as found in the majority of Mexican restaurants Ive been too. In fact, they didnt even know what I meant when I asked, Do you have red sauce for the burrito?. They pondered, then said, Do you mean hot sauce?. I found that funny. To note, you can get red salsa at their decent salsa bar, along with hot salsa, guacamole sauce, chips, pick, etc.The burrito was long, and filling, but I doubt there was a while chicken breast, or even half, in it. Still it was very tasteful & filling enough. I tried to make do with the cold red salsa 😁 The dish was $14.xx, which I think is a bit high. Id value it at $9 to $12 max comparatively.Oh, the veggies inside also included peas ... which I thought was weird. Ive never had peas AND corn in a burrito .. like ever! Sooo, I didnt prefer that.Still, Id revisit. It is order at the counter & grab your own table deal, not traditional sit down service, just FYI.You can get some ...

2021-12-16Stopped by during a road trip and was floored by their amazing tacos. The rib eye taco was my favorite - the beef was super flavorful with crispy edges. I loved that they had a self-serve side cart with salsas, cremas, etc to add to your food. The food appeared to be made to order, and the guys running the place were so nice and friendly. Will definitely be back on our next road trip!

2019-07-19I was SO pleasantly suprised by this place! I travel all over the east coast and when youre this far north (especially in a smaller town) its hard to find good real mexican food.Well this place is awesome, the Salsa was delicious, we had choriqueso which was good, my husband had tacos wich he enjoyed, (not sure what type) I had 2 lengua and 2 carne asada tacos. They were fantastic.. the lengua was so tender and delicious. Maybe the best Ive had. I can say we will def be going back!
