OUTSTANDING! Madeline and Scott were great to work with for our daughters wedding! After the crushing same day double blow of having our Maid of Honor needing to back out for health reasons, as well as our caterer because she was retiring - only 2 months before the event!!! (Yikes! bridal breakdown!) - we were thrilled to discover Madeline was actually available (maybe it helped having a Sunday wedding!) The buffet food was absolutely delicious, (the salmon and garlic mashed potatoes were TDF), and they provided an expert bartender even though we bought our own wine and beer. Professional throughout, delicious food and service and cleanup was a breeze and unobtrusive. The staff was friendly and so helpful. THE BEST!
We took a huge amount of stress off our plate by hiring Madelines to cater our daughters engagement party. We chose to have the party at our farm and have the food dropped off. Ahead of time, Madeline and Scott helped me plan the party basics and timeline which was very helpful. They offered food suggestions and quantity based on our guest list (55ppl) and even assisted me in my table arrangements for a beautiful presentation. Food was brought on time; racks and sternos set up professionally; and food was hot or cold as designed.Everyone loved the food! Sesame Chicken with Orange Teriyaki was a huge hit, and I loved the fresh Thai spring rolls, Fig and Goat Cheese Flat Bread, and the Pulled Pork Crostini.
I booked Madelines Catering for my mothers retirement party on June 25, 2022 and truly wish I had not. First and foremost, I will say that I enjoyed speaking with Scot. He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions prior to the event which is why the awful experience was completely unexpected.For my 70 person event, Madelines Catering only provided two servers. While the ladies were a delight, it was clear that more help was needed to ensure a smooth event. The package I paid for included hand-passed hors doeuvres and the staff was not provided with adequate materials to do their job. No toothpicks were provided for the meatballs and guests had to use their fingers to grab each one. They did not provide marinara sauce for the arancini as outlined in our contract. The chicken empanadas were dry and the mini crab cakes were burnt. Additionally, the waitstaff had to pass the hors doeuvres on a small dessert plate as no proper tray was provided.At the bar, I specifically requested and paid for glassware, however they did not bring enough highball glasses to accommodate 70 people and no wine glasses were provided. When they ran out of glasses, they had to find and use plastic cups to continue bar service.For the buffet, no butter was provided for the rolls despite that being in the contract. The oven roasted potatoes were bland, the chicken french was dry, and the top sirloin was only prepared to medium, which meant a lot of our guests were unable to enjoy it. The frosting on most of the cupcakes was smeared and despite requesting white and yellow frosted cupcakes, we received brown and white frosted cupcakes.Before writing this review, I reached out to the company with my concerns about this event, but they did not respond. I would strongly reconsider hiring this company for your special event. Please make the best use of your money and book with a business that values the customer experience and follows through on their contractual obligations. I would hate to see another persons special day ruined by this company.TLDR: Madelines Catering did not fully abide by the contract by providing all of the promised foods and materials. The food itself was unpleasant and they did not provide adequate staffing for my event. While Scot and the onsite waitstaff were friendly and helpful, I would not recommend this business.
Madelines is PHENOMENAL! From the food to the service and everything in-between I cannot express enough how incredible they are!This past June my husband and I hosted our wedding in our backyard and working with Madelines was a joy! Madeline and Scott offered suggestions whenever we needed them and were always ready to answer my questions right away. Their communication was excellent!While planning I found the cutest charcuterie basket idea on Pinterest and Madeline executed on the idea BETTER than I could have even imagined - the presentation AND the food was delicious.The staff that was present the day of our wedding was amazing! Because we were hosting the wedding at our house I was worried if it would be difficult to navigate the nuances of our house and yard and the staff exceeded all expectations! They were some of the nicest and most helpful people and I couldnt have asked for a more pleasant group to be present on our special day! They were prompt, attentive, and kind!Every menu item was delicious and I dont think there was one guest that did not compliment the food!Madelines also provided the bartender Jake and it couldnt have been a better fit for my husband and I and our guests! He was incredible from serving to keeping organized and keeping everyone happy!I could go on and on, but really just have to say - if you are looking for a caterer look no further than Madelines! Working with Madeline and her team was a true joy and when I think back to our wedding day, one of our best decisions was having Madelines cater our event!
My fiancé and I were excited with the prospect of working with Madelines catering for our wedding after receiving multiple recommendations due to their attention to allergies. Unfortunately, even though many people raved about the service the day of and the food we could not even come to agreement with our contract and thought the initial service was very poor and therefore never got to experience the said positive attributes of the service. After a phone interview in which Madeline was late to, we received a quote several days later. This quote was not accurate and including multiple services in which we stated we were not interested in. When we reached out to ask for an updated and accurate quote we were met with pushback stating that the quote she stated was accurate and pushed for a deposit without sending over a contract or going into much detail into what she provided. After multiple email exchanges we were provided with a semi-accurate quote that still had items that we were not interested in as well as another statement to pay the deposit and still no contract that we had asked for initially. Finally, after more exchanges going on a month of communication we were provided with a contract as well as an online database to pay the deposit. Despite all of the miscommunications, my fiancé and I were still prepared and ready to sign the contract and pay the deposit. However, as we read through the contract there were a few bullets that did not sit right with us and were not applicable to our event on private property. We emailed Madelines right away with our concerns and possible solutions/alterations to the contract in order to compromise and make everyone comfortable. We stated that we would not pay the deposit without further clarification and the development of a contract we could both agree with. After that email, Madelines never replied to us or made any indication that they were willing to negotiate or further explain their reasons to each stipulation. They completely ghosted us. This whole experience was extremely disappointing as we were prepared to continue to work together and unfortunately this feeling was one sided. We feel as though Madelines was overwhelmed with the business end of catering and while their food may be good, without proper communication and flexibility they lost and will continue to lose clients. We will not be recommending this service in the future and have found many catering companies that have outstanding communication and food without feeling pressured to put a deposit down without all the information.
We had a 40th Birthday Masquerade Party at ArtisanWorks and used Madeline’s for catering. Our party was smaller but Madeline was still very responsive, accommodating and professional. We had a selection of appetizers and drinks and the food was absolutely delicious. The wait staff and bartender were both very friendly and helpful. Overall great experience and we highly recommend Madeline and the venue!

I used Madelines for my engagement party. As an event planner, expectations are always high for any event we have. I have used Madelines many times for client events, and everything has always been wonderful. Our engagement party was no exception!My fiancé and I wanted seafood for our engagement party, so we went for a clambake. Madeline put together a creative menu that was inclusive of picky eaters. Everything was delicious. My father who has a compliant about most dining experiences, could not stop saying how wonderful the food was. The staff was prompt, hardworking, and so wonderful to all our guests.If youre looking for a caterer, look no further. Madelines is amazing!

Madelines Catering is a full-service caterer. Never was this needed more than for my daughters wedding held outside in a big tent on 9/26/20. Madelines worked with us through the many necessary changes we had to make during this most challenging year. Madeline is responsive and her staff very professional. Because they were, the wedding reception was a huge success! We had many compliments on the quality of their food too - simply delicious! Thank you so much Madeline!
Earlier this month, my friend and I hosted a 50th birthday bash for our husbands. Madeline and her team were fantastic. The servers and bartender were prompt, organized and friendly. The party was a huge success and we couldnt have done it without them. The food was delicious and the hospitality was priceless.
Madeline was so quick and helpful to sort out our revised wedding plans and the food was excellent! Our wedding plans changed last minute (from having it at a venue to ending up with a little ceremony and dinner at a family members house) due to covid and Madelines Catering helped us out big time. They truly made the experience as pleasant and stress free as possible. In about a week and a half before the wedding, we were able to order catering for twenty people. We ordered the mini vegetarian tacos and coconut shrimp for appetizers and then we had salad, top sirloin of beef, chicken marsala, garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal fresh vegetables, and two entrees for a couple vegetarians in the family. Everything was delicious! The mini vegetarian tacos stood out as a favorite, they were unique and so tasty, but we were impressed with everything we had ordered. The drop off service was flawless and they were so respectful and friendly. We do not have photos back from our photographer but I will update with photos when we have them, if photos were taken on the food.I absolutely would recommend Madelines Catering and will certainly use them in the future! Thank you for helping to make our wedding day so perfect!
Madeline’s is simply the best caterer in the Rochester area. Large or small events they do a great job at a great value. I’ve received quotes from other caterers and have seen additional fees that are questionable. Madeline’s Catering is more transparent and does an excellent job.
I had my wedding at Artisan Works a few years ago and Madeline was the rudest person I have ever dealt with in the hospitality industry. She could not have cared less about my smaller 40 person wedding. She would not help me put together a menu and I had to practically beg her to send me sample menus so I had an idea on what I could offer my guests. The food was good but I will NEVER give her business again. We used them because they are the caterers for Artisanworks. Well Madeline, if you dont like catering for smaller events then you should not partner with a venue that has smaller event rooms. If I ever have another event at Artisanworks (who were lovely and their party planner was amazing) I will go out of my way to not use Madelines catering. Even though this was a few years ago it still makes me so mad that we paid so much to someone who was so rude and uninterested in our business.edit: Yes this was a few years ago. But it does not change the fact that the service was inexplicably poor. Honestly, the fact that even with all this time it still makes me feel bad is proof that it was not just some minor wedding glitch. I actually went back through my old emails and saw lack of response from Madeline. I was constantly following up with no response. I ended up settling on a menu I didnt want because I could not get help. But dont worry you still got your $75 per plate. I am glad you have other good reviews. Hopefully you are treating others better than you treated me as an outlier.
I used this company for many years for all sorts of events and they are INCREDIBLE!!! I have full faith in any thing they do. There is a wide range of capabilities and a ton of different food options. Hands down I would trust any event to them!!
Our original wedding plans fell through one month before our wedding date due to covid. As we scrambled to re-plan our wedding, Madeline’s ended up being an easy decision for us. My husband found Madeline to be easy to communicate with, helpful, and flexible throughout the inquiry/ booking process. The prices were reasonable and they were upfront regarding the costs, which we really appreciated. Madeline made the re-planning process so much smoother for us during a stressful time-- and we can’t thank her enough for that! To top it off, the food was AMAZING. The carved beef, the scalloped potatoes, & the crab cakes were especially memorable. The Mediterranean station was another highlight and so unique. The service was outstanding as well. The day-of, we had a team of 5 servers including a bartender. Beth seemed to be the coordinator of the group and she was the sweetest. She was incredibly attentive, checking in with us frequently throughout the evening. While we were taking family portraits, two servers brought hand-passed appetizers out to us so we didn’t miss them… such a thoughtful gesture. The bartender also took great care of us. Overall, this team rolled with the punches with us, and ensured we (& our guests) were satisfied despite 1000 covid-related changes. We can’t wait to enjoy their food again at future Artisan Works events!
Over the past few years, I have used Madelines Catering several times and have been extremely pleased with the fresh, delicious and plentiful food. Madelines catered two events at my house and her staff was so helpful - professional, friendly, and courteous. During the pandemic, I used Madelines take out service for a Mothers Day celebration and to deliver an appreciation luncheon to Unity Hospital staff. Highly recommended!
Four Words: Smoked Gouda Scalloped Potatoes. OMG. YUM. These professional folks catered my friends wedding this past weekend (Tom Abbey and Hannah Pawley) and they were absolutely phenomenal. GREAT food with GREAT presentation. Kind, friendly staff. Would not hesitate to book an event with them ever. As a former Wedding DJ, Ive seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Madelines team ranks in my top three of all time. GREAT JOB!

Madelines did the catering for my fathers wake, so it was a tough time for our family. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional and helpful. We were able to pick a nice assortment for a cold buffet, and work within our price constraints. The food was outstanding, well presented and met our needs exactly. Delivery was smooth, the staff were not obtrusive and helped with arrangements beyond what they needed to do, and the pick up of service items afterwards was also accommodating to our needs. I believe anyone would be happy with Madelines - they have a wide range of excellent food choices, their prices are reasonable, and their service is outstanding.

We held my daughters baby shower at Artisan Works and had Madeline’s catering do the food. They exceeded our expectations with service and the food was fantastic. Madelines catered a large dinner party for us recently at Artisan Works. The menu was casual and served at food stations. The food was delicious and all was delivered as ordered. Quantities were generous and the menu that was created matched perfectly with the amazing venue. All the staff were friendly, helpful and service oriented. Our guests raved about the food, drink and location.If we ever have to do another party - large or small - I would not hesitate to work with Madelines at Artisan Works and we enthusiastically recommend this caterer and this location.
My daughter was married this past weekend (8-14-10) and the reception was held at a private residence. We hired Madelines Catering in March of this year and it was probably the best decision we made (other than having the wedding at Sonnenberg Gardens).The menu was unique (we provided grazing stations), the food was delicious, plentiful and hot and our guests raved! Even our photographer, who has enjoyed several wedding meals, mentioned that this was one of her favorite meals that she has ever had. The servers were gracious, attentive, friendly and totally professional.Best of all, the budget was exactly as agreed upon. Madelines made my son-in-law and my daughters day perfect. I could not be happier with our decision. Kudos.

Fantastic job catering my brothers birthday gathering at our location this past Saturday. The food was delicious and hot. Everyone wanted to know who catered the event. The presentation and the flavors of the food were very much appreciated. All I did was put into sterno containment to keep the food hot. Everything was disposable. Your staff was incredibly professional and attentive, and our guests couldnt stop raving about the food.To be honest, many of our guests commented on how wonderful the service staff was in catering to any need they had. One of your servers even went so far as to get a personal wine bottle opener from his car when asked by a guest if they had one (we didnt need them since everything was screw top, but thats not the point).Regarding the food, we had so many people ask us where we catered from, noting that the chicken and the pulled pork were both fantastic. A few guests were taking bets on where the carrot cake and chocolate dessert bites came from and that they want to get some for their own parties in the future!I will absolutely be recommending you to friends and family going forward.
The new pop ups (taco Tuesdays and BBQ Thursday) are awesome! If you’re a big avocado fan you have to try the fried avocado tacos! The staff is also super friendly and you can’t beat getting to eat in Artisan Works! Highly recommend you check them out!

2022-04-25Madeline and her services were amazing under the circumstances that I applied to my event. My wedding was planned in a month and a half (for only 43 guests) and Madeline kept everything moving smoothly. All while me changing my guest count, changing the beverages and adding different kind of snack tables, Madeline’s catering kept the flow of communication great and even went above and beyond to help me find and communicate with Gourmet Goodies for my cake! The two servers - Anne and Bailey were great. They helped my older granny by sitting her at a safe spot bc our tables were a bit high and they made sure our guest with the gluten allergy didn’t get served any food containing gluten. They were constantly checking in and making sure we were satisfied and kept the mess of the food and plates to a minimum. Mickey was our bartender and he was great! Everything was fast, efficient and exceeded my expectations 110%. The food tasted great and the drinks were conveniently placed and we had more than enough for all of our guests I can’t wait to use Madeline’s catering again for my next event.

Madeline and her team were fantastic, always helpful, fun. The food was delicious!! Our guests could not stop talking about how good our dinner was. We had a gluten free menu and no one knew. 2021-08-17We went with madelines catering initially because they worked out of our venue but it was definitely the right choice. We had a free tasting before our wedding and loved all the food! We choice to do buffet style with stations. We had a pasta station for my italian family, a fajita station because I love tacos, and a garbage plate station as that’s my husbands favorite food! All our guests loved the food so much! Madeline’s also helped with tablecloths and staffed our bar. The bartenders were so much fun. Madeline’s was also great about working with us when our guest list had to be sliced in half!

2022-03-15Weve worked with Madeline for Drag Brunch at Artisan Works and I have to say the quality of the food, the staff and the overall planning has been spectacular. Madeline rolls up her sleeves and does the work and it shows. I would highly recommend her catering service for any event from weddings, to parties and anything in between. You cant go wrong. Amazing food and excellent service.

2022-01-05Madeline catered my wedding dinner and it could not have been more perfect. The staff was so helpful and kept me in the loop the whole day. I went over everything with them over the phone about a month before the event, which relieved some stress from the wedding planning. The food was amazing and they took care of everything. I highly recommend their Gouda scalloped potatoes!

2022-06-03I recently hired Madelines Catering to cater the annual dinner of a nonprofit association held at ArtisanWorks, and would highly recommend their services!! Every part of working with them was easy and fun right from the initial contact. The food was incredible, and Scott and his staff took amazing care of us. Every detail was planned and executed perfectly. I cant wait to work with them again for future events!!

2022-01-05Madelines Catering was one of the key factors that made our simple wedding into something fabulous! People were talking about the hors doeuvres for weeks, complimenting how great the food was. I can still remember how the salmon cakes tasted, mmm!The staff behind scheduling and all of the business-end stuff of course also the front-end staff serving drinks and food at the event were all amazingly patient and professional. I cant emphasize enough how accommodating both Madeline and the other person we corresponded with (I forgot his name!) were with us. The pandemic obliterated our original wedding plans, and we went through 2 date changes, a venue change and a menu change between 2020 and 2021. We were so lucky that Madelines Catering were available for us for our new date. If youre having an event at Artisan Works, youll get to experience their awesome food, too, just FYI!

2021-12-01Madelines did a great catering a surprise birthday for 50 people. There was plenty of food and Jay was very accommodating with setting everything up. Madeline and Scott were easy to connect with and answered all of my questions/concerns in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend them and contract them again.

2021-11-28I was thoroughly impressed with this company! We hired them, full service for a baby shower and I was beyond blown away. The staff was wonderful and the food was extraordinary. Ive tried prime rib multiple times over the years, but never liked it. Now their prime rib? It was absolutely delicious!! They also had this garlic hummus that our guests were raving about! Our two servers for the event, I believe their names were Bailey and Brian, if memory serves me correct, were professional but very personable. Overall, it was a joyful experience that leads me to not being able to say enough good things! I highly recommend for their delicious food and quality employees. I look forward to utilizing Madelines in the future.
