Mi Casa Restaurant in other cities:
I was at this restaurant with a couple of friends. The food was great! Unfortunately, the food took over an hour and the service from the waiter was horrible. Since the time weve walked through the door her attitude was bad.To cut it short, at the end we asked for the bill and it was a big one too. We received just one and we asked to split it, she reply; thats not possible, its already in the system and theres nothing I can do. Then, we proceeded to just check how much we had spent in each meal and there was an extra charge of $50. When we asked the lady she responded; thats a service fee that the restaurant charges and thats not the tip, theres nothing I can do. We told her that we needed to speak to the manager or the owner and she got furious; you have to pay for that bill, its what you guys ordered and what do you think that Im going to call the manager on a Sunday? Youre all crazy. Also, we check the prices on the menu to see if there was a mistake on the prices and to our surprise, those numbers didnt match the receipt either. I ask her about that as well and she reply with; we changed out menu and the prices and the new menu didnt get here yet.We ended paying for the bill but because of the service, attitude and the extra charges from the prices on the menu and the service fee that theyre charging thats not the tip. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT! unless you want to have a headache.
We thought itd be Mexican with Margaritas to sooth the pain of dropping our kids off at Utica College for the first time. We had some Mexican food lovers use the the real thing (from New Mexico) so I was a little nervous not being able to figure out it wasnt Mexican and it didnt have a bar. No problem. The food was great and the Guava juice was wonderful. We had many wonderful dishes with plantains (sweet and fried), Spicy wings, pepper stuffed dishes, and more. Was worth the trip.
Absolutely delicious. Had a great take-out meal from here after a long day of driving. We ordered Mofongo with pork and Pastelitos with chicken, and rice and beans. Ample portions, wonderful seasoning, and the restaurant interior is charming. If we lived nearby we would surely frequent this spot!
Delicious food, friendly one staffer but.....Poor service. Why is there is only one (1) person serving? Why is the Mofongo so salty? Why has the food served cold? Why is the passion fruit juice not ready and I have to wait more than 25 minutes to be told that the pulp is frozen? I wish this only happened once, but unfortunately, not.. Heres a fact, its the only Dominican rest around and I think the customers are being taken for granted. I hope this changes soon!
Absolutely loved this place! The best meal I have had since arriving in NY!! Good restaurants are hard to find here and this one is a gem! Definitely going to return again and again. Service was good too! Prices are reasonable too. Nothing at all that I didnt like about this place.
I went on a Saturday night for drinks & hookah. Its very small. It can get very hot if seated next to heater. Small area to dance Spanish music. Gets little crowded but it was a great time. No liquor is served. Wine champagne & beer. They off bottle service of moet champagne. They also serve fried food at night.
The service is welcoming, prompt, and very warm and friendly. The staff were willing to help us out with the menu choices as Iam not Dominican. They did an excellent job explaining and bringing out a tablet to show us pictures of the entrees. This is a great idea and food presentation is beautiful. The food is excellent!! Fresh and hot. This place is fabulous. Oh, and the homemade Sangria!!! Well worth it!Iam not easy to please when it comes to food and this place is the best I have had in a very long time. Thank you soo much. Mi CasaWe did have to wait for the food to be prepared, but it wasnt too long. I didnt mind at all.P.S. This was my second visit, I will return!
I was seated immediately. I tried the shrimp, guacamole and plantain appetizer and the plantain stuffed chicken with queso sauce. It was delicious! It is a family business, I arrived about 5:20 pm and the children were having a noisy argument. I grew up in a family owned business, so I understand those challenges.
Placed an order, the lady who answered the phone got it wrong. So when I called back to state it was the wrong thing she started arguing with me!! What!! What kind of customer service is that !!? instead of saying ok bring it back and we will give you the correct order she literally said well you said something else ! The funny thing is when we initially ordered we repeated four times. Sorry you couldnt take credit for messing up our order, not to mention the place was a MESS !!!
I ordered food for the first time at the restaurant on Uber eats it took a little while to arrive but I understand the day was rainy for appetizers never order the tostones with shrimp and guacamole. Its horrible. I also ordered the 100% beef Mofongo milestones for appetizers. I recommend them, they are delicious. But the beans with rice AND churrasco The churrasco with shrimp was very tasty but the beans only tasted of tomato sauce they didnt taste of any Dominican seasoning And I also ordered the chicken cracklings with sweet plantains I didnt like the chicken cracklings because they didnt fry them Enough to call it chicharrón de pollo but definitely if I would order again I would order the Monguitos de res 100% I recommend them.👌

2021-07-24An amazing lunch, Bibi was a great server and she helped me choose. The pineapple drink is homemade and delicious. The chicken crepe was so unique, perfect beans and rice, even the salad had a light and tasty dressing. Beautiful presentation. I will be back soon.

2019-10-01A true hidden gem! Excellent service, DELICIOUS food, awesome sangria! Favorite dish is the Pachuga Del Valle - chicken breast studded with plantains and mozzarella, smothered in a delicious cheese sauce. Not pictured but included with the dish, the yucca pure is soooo good! You cant go wrong!

2018-08-21A bit slow, but totally worth the wait. My palate wasnt expecting such exquisite flavor balance from foods Im not used to eating. Even the salad with the appetizer and the main course was perfect. Id say I wasnt a big fan of plantains, but the appetizer changed my mind. The main courses we enjoyed, including the pictured paella were incredible. Well be going back to try many more things.
