Food was delicious . I bought the filet combo. The filet was cooked perfectly. And was soo tender. One meal would definitely serve 2 people. Maybe buy an extra small toss salad if its for 2. They put dressing and sauce in the bag, both were like a miso or like a sweet light teriyaki. Im not a huge teriyaki fan but I liked it alot. I will for sure be going back.
Just ordered dinner, chicken was dry and small portions for the price. Then had a spicy crab roll and it was warm and sour. Attempted to call them to see if this could be rectified and warn them about the crab but I cannot reach them and their phone has been busy for the past ten minutes. This restaurant has gone downhill over the years and the service and food are subpar.
This is a nice place amongst a rough area. I like to order take out from here and it’s always right. The menu is large and I can always get something different and know it’s going to be good. Although my hub and I get usually the same thing they are consistently a good quality of sushi. When the time is right we will eat there and the staff is so nice and polite. They care about their store and customers. The store is clean and well managed. It seems they take care of their staff and support them when it gets busy. I continue to go out of my way to pick up from them instead of ordering the average Chinese take. The cost is a little more but the quality and service makes up for it.
Generally pretty great, but like most sushi places you have to be aware of what youre ordering. I believe youre often not getting the fish that you order. Besides that, the food is very tasty, the decor is surprisingly amazing, theres a full bar, and the prices are reasonable. The lunch specials are 100% the way to go.
When I first bought from this place the food was great but I dont know ever since the pandemic hit they have been slacking a lot at first I was like okay theres a pandemic going on let me not go based off of that but now Im just disgusted I had placed three lunch specials and the salads to those three lunch specials were nasty the sush also tasted like the cucumbers were old unfortunately I wont be going to this mt fuji anymore I hear the one in gloversville is better I will be trying there next
Horrible service for hibachi. Cook splashed cleaner all over my husband and mother in laws food, SEVERAL TIMES while cleaning the grill as we are eating. Waitress took forever with drinks, had to call her over multiple times. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Completely over charged us. Then chased us out the door to our vehicles because “we tipped too low”. Very disgusted. Very unprofessional.
We enjoyed the food and show at Mt. Fuji. The hibachi/teppanyaki is fun and the food was very tasty. They put more sauce and flavoring on the food than today Japanese cooking, but it is delicious. We had chicken, salmon, today and filter mignon, and ask was excellent. In addition, you get either fried noodles or fried rice, both of which are better than average. The vegetables are a nice mix and seasoned nicely. The dinner comes with soup and salad. Service was quick and responsive, and we all enjoyed our time there.
That was the worst sushi I had in my life. I recently ordered take out, right? The sushi wasnt stored properly, was discolored, and had pen marks on it. The cheesecake could be only what I describe as curdled. They clearly dont inspect the quality of their products and Ill never this visit place again.Avoid this place like a plague. They should be ashamed.
Awesome food!! Well be back!!Next visit 6/15/21...ordered chicken Katsu, just to be told 3 different things by 3 different people. First was, we dont have the kind of sauce you are referring to (Katsu), 2nd person stated yes, you ordered chicken katsu but we dont make katsu sauce, manager states, katsu means fried chicken 🤣 Needless to say, I own my own chopsticks and know what a Katsu sauce is. I DID NOT PAY FOR FRIED CHICKEN AND A BOWL OF white RICE WITH BOTTLED SWEET N SOUR SAUCE..NOT THIS GIRL. None of them were apologetic and instead were argumentative and knew nothing of the food they were serving. Will not be going back!! Lost plenty of good customers with that nonsense.
We have never had a bad meal here. Weve had sushi, ordered off the regular menu, and had hibachi. Its a beautiful restaurant. The drinks and food are delicious! The lychee martini is my fav. The staff is always extremely friendly. They have great specials too. Just a good, fun place to eat. Definitely recommend!
This was our second visit, to be fair my 1st experience was not bad, on this trip however, i ordered a basic roll, and asked to have it fried. The roll was 5.00, and its my familys favorite, we ordered 4. The waiter came back and told me he would have to charge us the price of another roll which was 10.75 just to put ours in the fryer. I was not gonna disappoint our children who looked forward to this, and was also a birthday treat. So i had to spend 40.00 for this.. Seriously not right, and will not return out of the principle of the matter, and to be fair I still gave a 19% tip. From now on we do our Sushi at Mt Fuji in Gloversville, fair and friendly place
I was very impressed when we walked into Mt. Fuji. The place was beautiful, even the restroom sinks. The waitstaff was very attentive and the food was very good. We bought sushi but the family having hibachi were having a great time. The chef was giving them a great show.
First time coming here. Walked in. Two other people behind me. Greeter asked me how many people and I said “ I’ll like to do take out” then she asked the two other people “how many people” and seated them. She never came back to me just left me standing there. Then two more people came in behind me. Another worker came up and asked me if I’m picking up and I told her that I’ll like to do take out. Then she ask the two other people “how many” and seated them. So I left they obviously didn’t want to serve me. Just left me standing there.BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I was very displeased with my experience today i normally always have a great server but the woman names Share today was absolutely terrible. She didnt write the orders down and because of that we never got our appetizers and she also messed up my dinner order. When i told her i was given the wrong sushi (i always order the same 3 rolls) she tried to tell me i was wrong and i really did order the eel roll or whatever it was. She then took away the eel roll and my fork along with it that i never got back. She didnt bring me new silverware and she also asked us what we wanted for dessert but failed to mention they had no cheese cake until we ordered it... today was just a bad day i hope if i ever decide to go again i have a better waitress...
Finally, a true hibachi experience that also offers table dining, a robust sushi menu and bar seating. The layout of the restaurant and presentation feels like its ripped right out of the big city and dropped here for us to enjoy. Everything from the miso soup to the most extravagant sushi platter has excellent flavor, professional presentation at an affordable price.
I stopped in for an early Sunday dinner, (sushi, not teppanyaki) and I really wanted to like this restaurant. For a strip mall location, the decor - ambiance was pretty good, the server and chef seemed agreeable, and the fish in the sushi cooler appeared fresh as I sat down at the spacious four-seat sushi bar (photo), which could easily fit eight. It started going downhill as I looked through the big colorful menu with lots of photos of other chefs creations - coupled with the waribashi and fork in the cloth napkin. This always makes me concerned of who the expected patrons are. As usual for a first-time visit, I ordered a couple of maki and some nigiri. But they were out of menu highlighted toro, and uni, and suzuki. Two chefs and the server insisted those items were not very popular, and so, were not available - also, they werent sure when the next deliveries would happen, if ever. Then why are they on the menu?As I was waiting for my main, I was served a forgettable soup and teabag tea (not brewed). I looked around and felt lucky that the restaurant was mostly empty, because the closest of a half-dozen teppanyaki / tables was only about 8 feet from the sushi bar. Im guessing that this is not the quietest area when the restaurant fills up. At least the TV behind the bar was muted. My main arrived as two plates. Strangely, the server ordered the chef to just put a few of the nigiri on a plate, to quickly serve me, because she thought I was hungry. I guess this partly explains the simple presentation of at least part of the main, but I found it odd that the server can dismiss the chefs work so easily. If I just wanted to immediately stuff food in my gullet, just because I was hungry, I would have gone into the Walmart/Subway sandwich shop next door.Maybe I should have. When my main was finally presented (photo) on chipped plates, I was disappointed. The under seasoned rice was falling apart not just in the nigiri, but off of the maki as well. Sticky rice that doesnt stick together severely limits its appeal.I found the maki construction poor with the not spicy salmon puree as the worst offender. The fish itself was not bad for the nigiri, but the hotate appeared strange. The smell was acceptable, but the cracks may have indicated that it was not as fresh as I had hoped. The egg cake seemed a little too dried out, but edible. Most of the fish I tasted was acceptable, but the failure of the rice, in every single bite, had an outsized effect. This restaurant is at least 45 minutes from Albany, too far to travel back until they fix a few things.2019 06 30. When youre in upstate NY, you dont expect great cuisine from faraway places. However, Mt. Fuji is a wonderful exception. The front part where one can get traditional Japanese and Chinese dishes is very nice. The sushi is always fresh (and Im a stickler for that). The teppanyaki tables in the back are wonderful. The chefs are great at creating fun. (I find it funny when the customers are such cold fish that they could be served up as sushi in the front.)I have been in teppanyaki restaurants on cruise ships that have not been as fun as the tables here.(And I must admit when the chef is squirting sake down your throat while shouting, Sake, sake, sake... just honestly cracks me up.... but thats because sometimes I have the humor of an adolescent. :)
I work right next door and have ordered lunch from here few times. Usually when I go to pick the food up they staple the bag shut so nothing spills. Yesterday they didnt bother with that so teriyaki sauce was spilled all over everything. On top of it they didnt even bother to give me dressing for my salad so I was given plain lettuce to eat. Thats extremely rude and careless I PAID for that? Never again. You lost my business. The name on my receipt said melanie was my server. Whoever was responsible for the mess I was given and not even having the decency to give me dressing needs to be fired because I spend a lot of money at this place and you lost my business for good. I get 25 minutes for lunch I couldnt even go somewhere else because I didnt have the time.
Where do I begin with the mt Fuji lets see from the moment my family enter the door to celebrate a party the wait staff was overbearing brushing and try to get us to order before the birthday girl had even showed up and then at the end instead of taking the bill and cashing out and coming back and getting a rather large or tip the waiter came over and explained that he was not tipped well if he had just went and cashed Bill and came back he would have got like $10 for me but since he complained about no tip when he walked over to the register he then got a dollar so hopefully this will help fix and rectify all the problems in this restaurant and let them know that people need time to eat relax and enjoy themselves is always better to not assume and get a larger tip
Been here several times before and had a wonderful dining experience,,tonight was not like that very rush rush and no personality from the chef,no vegetable toss,no onion volcano, just hurry up cook and serve, and to be honest it took away the enjoyment of a hibachi restaurant,,brought a friend of the family out to dinner for a show and received none of it,so very unhappy...

2022-02-07Place has gone downhill tremendously over the last few years. Came here today with 10 people for a birthday and said 3 times it was for a birthday yet never received any celebration for the person. The chef was in a big rush and presented no show at all during the cooking. Grill heat was on way to high and all the food was burnt almost instantly. 5+ people ordered steak that was so over cooked, you could barely chew it. I was extremely disappointed because we recommended this place to our party over places in Albany because it was closer. I would of rather driven 30 mins past Albany to go somewhere else after this experience. Never again especially considering it cost over $300 for burnt Chinese food with no entertainment.

2022-04-06Went here for the hibachi grill and left a 20% tip for both the chef and waitress. At cash out the hostess stood between myself and the door refusing to let me leave unless I gave her a tip as well. An additional twenty dollar tip to leave 19 minutes later was greeted with calling me a scumbag. A man who paid well over 60% of an over priced $100+ bill was called a scumbag. Needless to say unwind be returning for already overpriced food with forced gratuity and the expectation that I should tip anyone that said hello.

2022-01-13The food was excellent. The service was awful. Our waitress acted like we were inconveniencing her by simply being there, and we were the only table in there. Ive never left a review before but she was just that rude, I had to. Someone needs to have a talk with her and her bad attitude

2021-12-12This place is kinda a joke. The last 4x I’ve gone there I’ve asked for a side of white rice and literally have never received it even after telling the lady I never get the white rice I order. Today was especially bad they never refilled nor asked to refill any of our drinks. When they first opened they were amazing now it’s like they got really comfortable and don’t care about service. I get that people are going to say Covid made them short handed but there were only us and another family there so no excuses.

2021-11-27I consistently enjoy this restaurant. The menu provides a wide array of options, from sushi and sashimi, to hibatchu, to bento boxes, to teriyaki. The prices are reasonable, there is a full bar, they offer a number of wines, including a selection of plum wines and sakis. Food preparation and service are fast and efficient. I started off with tuna sashimi and then had the chicken and steak terriyaki and my partner skipped an appetizer and went with the bento box with steak terriyaki. We both had miso soup and a salad included with the meal, and her bento box also offered shrimp and vegetable temputa. She enjoyed a hot saki with her meal, while I opted for a couple of glasses of plum wine. Everything was prepared well and the steak terriyaki was medium rare, as ordered.

2021-07-17My son went today with 7 friends to have the hibachi experience, however they were completely disappointed as the person didnt perform other than cooking in front of them.. He engaged 2 other tables providing them with the fun aspect of hibachi but did not with a table of seven. When I called asking for Manager or owner Lin or Min stated it was because they were are too busy today. Too busy to provide customers with the experience they pay for?
