Great place for delicious Tex Mex food! I had a pina colada margarita that was excellent. I recommend the chorizo and cheese empanadas. Shared those with friends, but it was so good that I could have easily have eaten the entire thing myself. Really good nachos with guac and lime crema. I also had the pork carnitas tacos- delicious!Fyi - all food portions are pretty much shareable. The portion sizes are fairly big. Not that its a problem, just saying ;)
Shared the spicy fried chicken queso-dilla on their Specials menu & a chili lime queso-dilla. Both came with 2 different homemade sauces. Their habanero pepper sauce is out of this world. I actually asked if they sold it in bottles but alas not yet! We finished with the Churros which came with caramel & chocolate sauce. I have been dreaming of this meal ever since. Everything is so flavorful & thoughtfully made. Highly recommend!
I had the pulled brisket burrito (I forgot the name of it). I added fresh guacamole to it. It was very very good. Good proportions of rice, tender brisket, guacamole, salsa, crema, etc. A very flavorful experience throughout. There is also four different sauces on each table. The new wave sauce is creamy and flavorful, the spicy bbq, isnt spicy to me, but has good flavor. The jalapeno jerk sauce has a little kick, then regular hot sauce. All are good, the burrito was big enough that I kept switching sauces for every bite.I normally eat a lot and couldnt finish the whole thing. Although, I did eat a half of the loaded nachos and a plantain appetizer first.
$3 tacos on taco Tuesday and the best margs? Food is so fresh and delicious. Best Mac and cheese. 10/10 gem of a place
New Wave Burrito is really nice spot to enjoy lunch, drinks, and even dinner. The food was good. I had nachos with the trio dip (queso, salsa, and guac)as the appetizer. It was good; the nachos were crunchy and not too salty. I also had the tacos. You can choose whichever taco(s) you want to mix and match. The chicken on one of them was a little dry but the Jalapeño jerk sauce made up for it. There Burritos 🌯 were amazing also. It seems like the Birdhouse is a favorite. The burrito I had was very delicious, filled with flavor and very filling. I had their holiday drink too; spooky juice and it was stellar👌🏾💯. It surprised me. It was sweet, savory and spicy all at once. I definitely recommend it to anyone. For dessert, I enjoyed their churros with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. It was perfect; crunchy, soft and very sweet. The ambience of the place was cool even with Halloween decorations. For viewing pleasure cute and funny pet videos were playing on one of the monitors. Additionally, Outdoor dining was available as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, patient and accurate. If you ever just want a spot to hangout and enjoy good food, good conversation and great drinks; definitely check out New Wave Burrito. Its worth it.
My favorite vegan friendly place in Huntington. Their impossible bowl and vegan nachos are so good I cant even explain it in words 😍 I have to go at least once a month if not more. The employees are always super friendly too, and their drinks are always delicious as well
Largest packed burritos and the absolute best vegan quesadillas Ive ever had! The meals here are worth the price. If youre considering getting a side of the vegan chicken though, just keep in mind its a very small order of 3 pieces for $5. Other than that the food here is phenomenal.
Good food.Good selection, even for veg-head like me.The prices are startling for the genre of food but the quantity given makes up for it.The ambiance/atmosphere of the indoor dining was...interesting. On one TV there was all things cute pets, a second TV had sportsball, and the third had some random 90s surfer vibe mashup.Getting a little cold to sit outside but this is in the main part of the village so it can get loud when the Harleys and suped up Mercs flash by.
We love this place! Consistently delicious! Drinks are always on point. Wings were amazing. Large, juicy and great flavor. Tacos and burritos were excellent! Great service too. We left very happy!
Great Guacamole!!, I recommend this place for sure. I went with my family and we sat outside comfortably. The staff was nice, place was clean food was good. Also parking is not a problem.
This was an awesome experience! The staff is super friendly and welcoming! We traveled a distance to eat some tacos and burritos.. and I have to say it was well worth it!!!! The lobster burrito was to die for!! Sooooo delicious and we also tried the shrimp tacos.. just the right amount of spice and seasoning! If you do happen to stop in please try that Lobster Burrito it will change your life.. Thank you New Wave Burrito staff for making my tastebuds dance again...

I really loved the chip & dip platter, but my main dish a chicken quesadilla wasn’t very good. Therefore, based on my experience I wouldn’t likely be back which is disappointing since I love Mexican food.

The ambiance is set between license plate chandilier and Cameron who recommended the Birdhouse burrito, which by the way, was amazing. A must try for you new comers. Servers were polite and helpful and knowledgeable with the menu selections. I will return.

Really really excellent food. Everything is a new twist on an old take, very creative very delicious. Dont go here if youre looking for traditional Mex Mex though... Its a different animal, more refined and varied. I thought the shrimp kicked butt.

Overall great place!! the burritos are huge, big cali wave with chorizo and shrimp is my go to order. but the real star of this place is their quartet of sauces at each table! definitely recommended, and the service is great but can be a little slow sometimes. overall great experience!
I came here for lunch with a friend recently and was waited on by Ramido. We were the only patrons there at the time (12:30 ish) but I didnt mind lol We had the radio wave burritos, birdhouse tacos, and pulled chicken tacos. To wash them down we had mango and strawberry margaritas (frozen and on ice). Those drinks had us LEANING lol We were very satisfied with the service, food and atmosphere! Check them out if you havent already.
Good, generously sized burritos. Lots of flavors and fillings, including vegan and vegetarian options. Something for everyone. Friendly service though a little inexperienced on this trip and might have been a tad more attentive.
Tonight my girlfriend and I wanted to try something new in the village. We gave this place a shot and needless to say it was not worth the money. To start we ordered the plantain skillet, which was overly sweet and lacked any spice. I ordered the birdhouse burrito that wound up tasting of bland rice, and no texture from the fried chicken. My girlfriends chile lime tacos tasted neither of lime or chile. The only savior to the dishes was the sauces which were just okay. Margaritas were flavored with simple syrups and only benefited from the amount of tequila poured into them. To top it off my bill was $80. Save yourself the trouble and eat some Taco Bell because it is surely better than what I overpaid for tonight.

Chorizo, shrimp, jerk chicken, fried chicken, brisket, guacamole, green chili queso... all amazing! We had appetizers, a burrito, and a bunch of tacos, and there was no way to decide what the best was. Even just the chips and salsa were the best ever. Go! Now!
Pros:Burrito I had was pretty good!Cons:Missing the added cost guacamole I orderedWhen our server brought the guac out to me on the side it was easily the worst guacamole Ive ever eaten in a restaurant. No hyperbole...trash level guacService was really poor. Spent an over an hour in the store for what was supposed to be a quick bite. Not sure why we were treated with an unfriendly attitude and somewhat ignored, but its what happened.
This establishment may have decent food and beverages. However, the waiters and bartenders do NOT wear masks properly (they only cover their mouth not their nose, no need for a mask)! Then you go to the kitchen area, the head chef does not wear a mask as he handles the food and the people in the kitchen do not wear masks! On the weekends there is zero social distancing! If you want to get the virus, this is the sure place to go as even the owners walk around the place without a mask on! Also their sister location VauxHall is the same thing, the CDC would have a field day here!

From the aesthetic to the food to the bartenders, this is the place to go! Taco tuesdays are my tradition and it is the high point of the day. Kate, Grace and Alanna are sweethearts and by far my favorite part!
I wanted to like this place. I still like the decor and idea of the place. The service sucks though. From the rude waitresses to lack of service. The portions were small, food was alright at best. The drinks were lacking, the bill wasnt though. Very disappointed, sadly.

There are very few redeeming factors for this place. Actually, scratch that: there are none. There is no excuse to call a flavorless soupy abomination a gazpacho -- it wasnt. Extremely bland. The ceviche? Well, lets start with the fact that using tomato sauce for ceviche is not that traditional (or tasty). But even ignoring that, using canned tomatoes for the sauce -- no excuses as I said.
They have legitimate vegan contenders on the menu.

Ordered a chicken burrito. The chicken was rubber. So rubbery it made a sound when I bit into it. Completely gross and inedible. I threw it out. Wont order from there again.

2022-07-25We really enjoyed our experience at New Wave. We were visiting family and walked around Huntington Village before New Wave caught our eye. We decided to grab lunch there and were very happy with our choice.Food: As an appetizer, we got the chips dip trio. Its great way to try the queso, salsa, and guacamole. They also were very friendly and gave us extra chips. The queso was delicious, did need a little salt according to me. The guacamole tasted fresh and they even made it spicy for us.For entree, I got the Vegan chick n with Nashville hot oil. They were DELICIOUS. Perfectly crispy and the right amount of spicy and cool. The sauce they add to it gives it the perfect contrast. I got three huge tacos for only $15. My husband got their Nashville Fried Chicken and he told me he really enjoyed the real chicken version as well.Price: Very reasonable especially for the portion size. When they say 3 tacos, they do NOT mean small tiny ones, they are actually hearty sized.Ambiance: I love the vibe of the bar. It felt like a California surfer vibe yet more upscale. I also like the color scheme in the restaurant. They had casual but nice dish ware. You can clearly tell a lot of thought was put into the set up of the restaurant.Service: Very very impressed with the service. Everyone there was very friendly and so patient with us. We kept trying to sit outside and then it would start raining and they would help us transition back inside. Not once did they give us a hard time.

2022-04-25Loves this place! The food was delicious and the inside was really cute and cozy. I brought my mom home their tortilla soup, and shes been ordering it like crazy ever since! I brought the little girl I babysit in for dinner, and both of us loved our meal! I accidentally left my phone, and when I went back, they had held it and returned it back to me! Definitely a place Ill be going back to! Food was delicious, atmosphere was nice, and the staff is friendly and honest. I definitely must try if youre in Huntington village!

2022-04-23Have been to new wave & their sister restaurant vauxhall a few times since moving to Huntington and all of our experiences have been positive. Not only are the food and drinks consistently delicious, the workers of both restaurants are extremely friendly and outgoing. Whether dining inside or outside they are attentive and just have great attitudes all the way around. Makes me want to come enjoy the atmosphere even more frequently. Kudos to the teams running these spots!

2022-08-06Great food. I’ve gotten to-go burrito bowls from here a few times and it’s always fresh, hot and flavorful. Very fair pricing for the area for some excellent food. Hard to ever go back to Chipotle or Qdoba after having their buttermilk chicken here! Recommended.

2022-08-12Sheeeeeesh. Ordered the brisket burrito, the fried chicken bowl, the chicken empanadas and the chip trio. Everything was absolutely delicious. Im normally strictly chicken when it comes to burritos but I REALLY liked the brisket in the burrito. It had a delicious smokey taste and was out of this world. Will definitely be ordering again!

2019-12-05My wife and I absolutely love this place!! We go every Thursday for our date night. Always have an interesting special burrito every week, the brisket burrito was out of this world!! We have had the nachos every way you can get them, I love them all but if I had to choose one try the chicken ones. Very friendly staff, every server weve had has been amazing. Great music and laid back atmosphere, last night we were watching an SSX Trickey playthrough. Cant say enough good things about this place. Always excited to go back! Highly recommend!

2022-06-25Ordered pickup online for a single burrito and it was over 20min late. Service was horribly slow and it wasnt even crowded inside the restaurant. First experience with the restaurant and incredibly disappointed.
