It is very disappointing when an officer doesnt know simple traffic rules or laws of NYC. A driveway partially blocked is exactly that, it is a violation. Your discretion is not valid of weather or not I can access my LEGAL driveway. Write the summons so I can have the vehicle towed . Besides other stuff , I can say that many things get ignored around this neighborhood and the COPS do nothing about it.
They don’t want to work !!!Called many times and complaint many times by 311 app for illegal commercial parking on residential area 15th ave between 86th st and 85th st also 85th st between 14th ave all way to 16th aveEvery night commercial trucks park and no one give them a ticketsThere’s a truck parked and never move for more than a month with expired temporary plates and never got a ticketThey parking by fire hidrent holding spots and never get tickets.U guys need to learn from 68th pc what they doing with commercial trucks once they park by 86th golf park they tow it right away doesn’t wait even for complaint
Today and everyday a car is parked all night and most of the day by the fire hydrant in front of 1806 West 4th Street. Never a ticket is issued. Thus is a free space. Also on Street cleaning days the first three houses dont get swept. One hundred dollars a day for the city for blocking the pump. No police service to the area. Please lets get some money, its easy. Every morning a ticket at the pump. Frustrated in Gravesend.Also, I dialed the precinct, the Community Service phone rang for over six minutes. No answer, no voice mail. Wow.I wonder if they read these comments?
A sergeant in here is obviously proud of being accused for sexual harassment. He told every cop in the 62 that the report was filed against him & I never understood why he felt the need to volunteer to tell this to everyone he works with, I would think that is embarrassing. I never tell all my co workers my business. He points me out to them & since hes been doing this the pct has blacklisted me, they refuse to help me, in fact they wont acknowledge me at all &/or they will literally run away from me. I am not joking btw. They took an oath to protect & serve so they are expected to do their job, also he was reprimanded for it so obviously hes guilty. Heres the thing, dont use your job to obtain someones address then pop up at their residence late at night, unnannounced, trying to have sex with them, then you wouldnt have anything to worry about! Sounds simple enough to me! I never expressed any romantic interest in him so he was pretty bold to attempt that. People typically dont go around making these type of allegations (esp against cops) for no reason... Just saying!
A driver ran a red light and hit my car. Two officers came onto the scene and obtained the drivers information. When I retrieved the police report, turns out the driver did not have a drivers license. My insurance company ran the VIN provided on the report and the driver did not have auto insurance!!!The officers were too lazy to perform a thorough validation on a driver who did not even have an ID?! He didnt have an ID, ran a red light AND did not have auto insurance but they let him drive away with just a summons!
I called to notify some suspicious activity of 2 strangers lurking from house to house in our neighborhood and was told to call after the crime. There is no preventive measures according to the officer. WOW! Really? How about giving the patrol officers a notice rather then giving the easiest answer to do nothing. Im seriously concerned for our neighborhoods well being.
Thanks for protecting & serving our community. If your honest & show respect they usually let you go like most NYC preceints. Yeah, sometimes youll get a ticket but thats just the consequences of the choices you make. If you decide to show p.o some attitude I mean come on how you expect them to look out for you. If you going to start recording and ask questions lmao you best believe they looking for the smallest reason to lock you up. Thats just called being a human. Once again thanks & #blacklivesmatter.
My mother brought in a lost phone and the police there accused her of stealing it. My mother, who had to rush home to cook dinner and do the laundry, had found a lost phone in Chinatown and didn’t know where the nearest police station was. Thus, she brought the phone to the police station near our house, which is this one. The police officer, without even trying to understand what happened, immediately questioned her and accused her of stealing. My mom had to give me a call since she is not fluent in English and the officer that spoke to me was pretty rude. The officer ended up photocopying my mom’s ID. Hopefully that’ll be used for thanking her once the phone is returned to the owner.
Very disappointed. Got in an accident and the responsible person pulled a hit and run.They refused to check a security camera that caught the car because no one was ingered and it is only property damage so I would only give him a ticket and it is to late for this. Unprofessional and very unhelpful. Very disappointed this is were half my paycheck goes.
Called for police to check on 92 year old mother. Hadnt answered phone in days. The officers worked hard to get in, arranged for an ambulance. Contacted me twice with follow up info.They are a credit to the NYPD. Greatly appreciated.
You will never find another precient work as hard to keep community safe. I watch time and time again these officers refrain from using force in situations that require it. Thank you for keeping me and my community safe.
No mater what, they are not working. Clowns in uniforms, the only they can do is traffic ticket. If its a crime they would never ever write report, even if you force them to write report. It would be thrown to garbage can. Patrol only empty and silent streets. Do nothing for neighborhood...
I just called there and tried to inform them that a Blond heavyset young woman has been performing oral sex in cars parked on Van Sicklen St at Avenue T, usually on the side of the street by the Church parking Lot . I apparently disturbed her while looking for a parking space awhile ago and now my Wifes vehicle has been vandalized several times . Today I found a Ticket for not being parked in a designated area ? this is a private vehicle and was legally parked in accord with the parking regulations . The Operator and The Detective I spoke with both refused to take any information or even make note of the location so that the sector cars could keep an eye out for this illegal and disgusting business going on at this Location ?? I hope this is forwarded to the appropriate Department !
I have to say I have been living in the 62 pct. area for 40 years .and i have to say they are the best cops in the city. the girl who complained her Identity theft was unfortunate but their is little they could ,it is more a self help issue and doing your do diligence to secure your identity from the bad guys
Thought there was just one pig here who tries to get their quota by giving parking ticket to someone who doesn’t deserve it, and falsifying information on where the car is parked. But, turns out, after reading other people’s reviews, this whole precinct is corrupt. I really hope the Captain gets replaced soon, and whoever is guilty here gets busted. It’s a matter of time pigs, you’re not invincible, the law will catch up to you. As much as you would like to think it is, but YOU ARE NOT THE LAW!!!

I am a pro blue blood and have a lot of respect for the Nypd but this precinct is definitely not one of them never follow up on none emergency calls or if they do it takes them for ever and they are proud to be racist pure and simple
I went there with a headlight ticket and they helped me out within seconds. It usually takes hours in other places... and they were nice too!
Black lady in the front got a attitude problem,i came into to file a complaint,she did help by answering but she kept rolling her eye at me like i was wasting her time,she made me feel unwelcomed im pretty sure i rather go through consequences instead of going back to them for help
Sometimes the officers dont sign their paperwork. Had to go several times to find the same officer so it can be applicable in court. Other than that very professional.
Ive was born & raised in Bensonhurst Brooklyn its a great neighborhood mostly due to the men & woman who day in & day out do the thankless job of keeping our streets safe .

The news media is consistently saying to the citizens of New York see something say something. I brought something up the 62nd precinct and their response was very simple OK!
Very unprofessional and racist precinct , then again what NYPD officer isnt... I was treated like an animal was falsely excused of a crime.
My Son volunteered there for a year and a half very reliable precinct but the 75th precinct is much better
I went in to file a police report, and the officer seem like they dont want to do work, and gave a bs reason not to write a report.

2022-04-27We were visiting the City and ended up needing to file a police report. This department was closest to where we were staying and all of the officers were very kind and helpful. Definitely the friendliest people we met on our trip. The department is quaint and off the beaten tourist path.

2022-04-30Terrible experience, zero results, and wasted hrs of my life. Do yourself the favor of avoiding this precint as they will demean, marginalize, and make light of your plight. While waiting there I over heard people being victim shamed, interrogated if they had legal citizen status or not (he was robbed, why does that matter rn?). Overall lack of professionalism if your trying to assist someone who doesnt speak perfect English because they recently immigrated, try to be patient and remember that they speak two while you barely speak one competently. Raising your voice repeating and yelling at already traumatized immigrant victims does not help instill trust gratitude or build bonds within the community and its ignorant to not realize its understanding not volume thats needed. I wouldnt trust these people in this precinct with 6 months of training with anything sharper than a beach ball. Good Luck to anyone who has to go here willingly or not.

2022-02-16Waited two hours and got all reports filed before they told me that I need one extra document. They told me to get that one document and come back and all the reports I filled out today will be discarded.Wish they could tell me that earlier so I didnt have to waste two hours of my life.

2019-04-03Highly recommended! You will receive better service if you choose the free transportation option. Easy to apply, ask someone to call them, and they will come. You’ll be seated in the back of the car with your hands behind your back, but this is just for your safety. Then, they will walk you in, and you will have a nice photo, they will take your fingerprints ( I believe it is for the membership) and finally you will get a nice seat. If you lucky and avoid the rush hours, you will be bu yourself but the weekends are crazy.. during your stay, you will be rewarded if you’re good enough.. drink, and well maybe a cigarette!! after midnight a bus/van will arrive and you will depart and will take a short ride to downtown Brooklyn. Worth to try!

2019-01-03Officer was very flirty, which I dont mind its amusing for me. Thats beside the point though,the cops are very professional and courteous,i was given a great service by the Officers there,people should know that you cant go in a police station with attitude and anger etc. Know your rights and keep your head on and you will be surprised at how things work out for you. Some of the guys in blue are very easy on the eyes too! And for Petes sake folks,stop calling the cops pigs! I think this is one of the things I mostly abhor,that these cops who has a very dangerous job mind you,has to put up with from the very citizens they are protecting. It aint no roller coaster being a police, a very good friend of mine was a cop and i fear for him all the time, knowing that should anything happen to him, it would be chalked down to this: He was killed in the line of duty. Sadly thats how it is. Love and respect to all you law enforcement officers!

2016-12-25Thanks for those hard working policies. I can see them walking and driving all around everyday. When I read some reviews here, I worried a little bit to get accident report from this station. Someone hit the rear of my boyfriends bus at manhattan. But they were so nice! My boyfriend shew them the receipt. They just printed it out from their system right away. Good job! Five stars!
