Somehow we didnt find this restaurant till last year. It is now my favorite! We just went for our anniversary last night. The tables are 8-10 feet apart to protect customers for close contact.. The waitress wore a mask and we felt safe and well taken care of. She washed her hands multiple times. The food was superlative as always. The bread and dip was delicious. The PEI mussels were cooked to perfection with garlic, wine and shallots. My husband had the Hay and Straw, which is creamy sauce with mushrooms over homemade linguini, it is insanely good. I had the daily special risoto which was made with a lobster broth, it had shrimp and mussels in it and was creamy and savory, and the lobster flavor was intense but not fishy at all. We shared mango sorbet for dessert, it was very florally and fantastic.I hope you this review, makes you try this gem.
Excellent food and service. We just moved to the area and stumbled upon this place as we were exploring the town. The food was incredible (mouth watering!!) and the service was even better! Friendly staff, the owner greets and chats with the guests. Highly recommend!!
The absolute best restaurant in Huntington!!! My wife and I live right outside of town and after trying all of the different places we find ourselves coming back on almost a weekly basis. Mike behind the bar is absolutely amazing and Nino himself greets you at the door. They could not be any more welcoming and friendly. Not too mention the food is fantastic and there is nothing better than fresh wine on tap!!!
Nice place; very elegant.the menu was in Italian, so I didn’t understand much. had to search up most of the dishes to see what everything looked like, but I eventually settled on some gnocchi.the food was okay; prices are not cheap but not too bad... the bill for 3 people is easily over $100, so just watch out for that.
Have eaten here twice, both times at the bar. Service was attentive. Nice selection of bar food for happy hour. The gorgonzola fried calamari was decadent and a must try. The pasta dishes were cooked perfectly and the portion was spot on..not too small not too much. Wine and beer selection did not disappoint. Overall we had a nice time and will go back.
We have dined here many times and the food is consistently very good. The veal meatballs and grilled octopus are both outstanding. I tried the prosciutto salad for the first time tonight and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the chicken limone and other entrees hes had before. I get the branzino with cauliflower every time and its always delicious. The decor and atmosphere is a bit casual, but I love that we can hear each other. The service is friendly and the food comes out without delay. Reading some of the other reviews feels like they went to a different restaurant. Weve been many times and its consistently good.
Great organic options and nicely prepared Italian food. Bianca pizza with mushrooms and truffle oil was a lovely treat. Enjoyed their salmon entree. Hay and straw pasta was tasty but rich. Cavatelli was recommended but a bit disappointing with too few peas added. Fresh bread with eggplant compote is wonderful. We will be back!.
My girlfriend and I love this place! The legendary Chef Nino will personally make sure you enjoy yourself and the food at this unique Italian eatery. The food is delicious, the staff is great and they have one of the best happy hour deals in Huntington including wine on tap :)
Excellent food, friendly atmosphere! Best caponata ever ... delicious roasted artichoke hearts and a very special chefs special of monkfish in a white wine, lemon caper sauce with perfect, delicate jasmine rice. An extensive and creative menu with a full bar including special wines and beer on tap. The best and perhaps most authentic Italian cuisine Ive had outside of Italy.
This is a restaurant I wanted to like more. Hostess/Waitress Liz was wonderful. A little downhill from there. Restaurant empty when we arrived just before 5 pm on a Sat. evening. Half tables filled and bar active when we left just over an hour later. Food served too fast despite relatively empty room. Zucchini appetizer bland, soggy. Artichoke appy much better in comparison. Sardinian cavetelli entree highlight includes sausage. The sausage was a well-kept secret as little more than a sprinkle seemed to be present in otherwise tasty dish. Veal scal. good, dessert good. Too-fast service gave little time to savor. Typically above-average Huntington prices demand more.
Cute Italian restaurant on Main Street in downtown Huntington. Its a great place for a couples or family dinner. We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was only half full.Service was great. Bread was warm and yummy (ask for balsamic). I recommend the grilled shrimp and eggplant caponata appetizer. As for entrees, the scallops and risotto was pretty good, though I wish the scallops were bigger. The steak was decent too.
The place was attractive but the food was awful. Soup watery and flavorless! Lasagna was mushy and not Italian at all. Tasted as if out of a CAN!!! CHANGED TO FETTUCCINE. This pasta was like no other, pasty and hard. I asked for aldente but these Italians do not know what that is. Sauce was just ok. Veal meatballs were the best part of all we ordered and ok. Bread not even good. Can not believe this place is in business. A total rip off. I have never written a review of a restaurant but with this one I have to warn people.
This restaurant used to be an amazing italian place. The last review on here was 7 months ago. Before that it was amazing. Now they added a big bar in the front and turned it into some sort of Irish Pub. Its horrendous. The food used to be authentic italian, now its fake bar food italian. I orded lasagna a while back and it was great. I just went there last week and it looked like stouffers frozen food and was gross. The chicken parm dinner doesnt even come with a salad or pasta and its almost $20!!!. They just throw some soggy broccoli rabe under it. Cutting costs like this will alienate every customer. This place doesnt even have white linen tablecloths!!!! The worst part of all is that it is loud as hell. You cant have a nice dinner without screaming baby boomer drunks from the bar all loaded up on wine.Lastly, it is expensive as hell. They charge fine dining prices for a pub experience. But the main thing is the food is terrible now. I should of known when I walked in there on a Friday night at 6:45 and the restaurant portion was empty. That was a huge red flag.Do not waste your time with this place. I asked the waitress why they changed and she said they werent really getting the crowds without the bar. I told her it was because the portion sizes were too small. Instead of changing the whole restaurant into a bar, all they had to do was up the portion sizes or lower the prices. Instead they just destroyed this restaurant. Now it looks like any other bar in Huntington. There are a gazillion bars in Huntington. It makes no sense to have another one.Oh, and by the way, the waitresses are dressed in jeans and t-shirts.. This is the biggest red flag of all.
Am I allowed to give 6 stars? Please please 6 stars. This place is dang right so so perfect. I wished I lived here. The pasta was off the charts and they really do well with the complimentary bread as well. I love how they offer various dishes, but do try their pasta. The Carciofini Alla Giudia artichokes were also my dang favorite. They were cooked right with a punch of flavor of garlic and oil. I also tried the Paglia E Fieno Ai Funghi E Tartuffo -- the mushroom worked so well with the truffle oil its like they danced together on my taste buds. I could NOT stop smiling with every bite. There are no words to describe it. It wasnt soggy, it was al dente and I have never been happier without meat that day. I tried some of the Fettuccine Con Polpette Di Carne too. I am not a fan of veal, but it was pretty good. Still -- not as good as the hay and straw pasta though. Please do try this place!

2021-09-01Great wine list! Pretty diverse with wines from Long Island all the way to hidden gems of Italy. The mussels are just amazing! We had the risotto with scallops and loved how all dente it was and the vegetables on it were amazing! I am so happy that I found such a cute spot in Huntington. Loved the outdoor seating and service was great .

2022-06-24This restaurant is absolutely perfect for every occasion. The food is always fabulous. Every dish is delightful. Service is very friendly, pleasant, helpful and efficient. There’s always an interesting variety of items on the menu with nightly additions of special appetizers and entrées that you don’t see very often on any menu. Anything you select from the menu for your meal will be impeccably prepared ! You can’t possibly go wrong. You can’t find a more delicious Italian meal anywhere on Long Island!

2022-03-13Small treasure of downtown Huntington! Delicious, free items on the menu that are beautifully prepared and served in a cozy, but gorgeous space. Servers were excellent and recommend a cappuccino and flan for dessert. Reservations highly recommend on the weekend as this place fills up quick.

2022-05-17A little disappointed in this place having such great reviews from other patrons. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful, but the food fell short in many ways. The veal meatball appetizer was bland, and only tasted of soggy breadcrumbs. There was also no color on the meat, as if the meatballs were boiled and then tossed with a garlic butter sauce (which was very thin and didn’t really taste of anything - makes me believe it was diluted with water). The pasta bolognese wasn’t really a bolognese sauce by any stretch of the imagination. It was bright red instead of a muted brown-ish color it typically is. There was no trace of a soffrito (carrot, celery, garlic) either visually or in flavor profile. And the few traces of meat were just gray and not flavorful. I hate to say it, but seems to me like it was jarred marinara sauce with crumbled veal meatballs mixed in. The spaghetti with shrimp and zucchini was fine. Not much of a composed dish - it was really just spaghetti, shrimp, zucchini, and tomato sauce thrown together. Finally: salt, salt, salt! They really should be using more of it. I’d give fewer stars, but we had no complaints with the pollo limone, and as for everything else I’m going to assume the kitchen had an off night.

2018-07-28Took my wife out for the first date night in a while. She has a sensitivity to gluten so it’s tough to find a solid restaurant that has a good selection of gf items on the menu. Turns out most or all of their menu is naturally gluten free bc they use semolina flour instead of flours that have gluten. Not only was the food amazing, the service was equally as good. We had Elizabeth - make sure you ask for her. You won’t be disappointed when you eat here. Great atmosphere too. We will be back for sure!

2022-05-12For Italian restaurants at this price point I would recommend Ella’s it Johnathan’s. Everything was good, but the atmosphere and quality is not quite as good as some of the other places in Huntington village

2018-03-17My wife and I stopped here for dinner tonight and were very happy with our meal. For starters we had Polenta Con Funghi and Arancini (riceballs). Both were delicious, and it would hard to chose which one was better. Our entrees were Sardinian Paella and the Veal Florentine, each very good. The bread was excellent and they kept the basket full. Service was outstanding and the restaurant was very clean. I highly recommend this place. We chose wisely

2021-12-21I wish I could rate zero. We went for lunch, the place was almost empty. The food came so fast to the table that we could believe, it was like out of a can directly to the plate, it was pricey and extremely bad quality. Italian restaurants are famous for being the best. It was not what we expected. What an ugly experience. Would never recommend it. There are very good Italian places in Huntington village. Actually most of the restaurants in the area are great. They should do a better job and not just make people spend their time and money in such a rip off... 12 mussels in a bowl with unflavored broth for $16. Please do not order it if you ever try this place ... better dont go to that place.
