Chris is the most professional and honest guy around. When I thought my computer was lost with a damaged mother board, he did his best to rescue what data he could and put it on a jump drive. I let him keep my broken laptop for parts. He did the research and found out it was still under warranty, sent it in, and he delivered it to my door!!! He could have just as easily kept it and I never would have known the difference. Thanks Chris!! You’re the best!

I highly recommend this business. My laptop died and I lost all of my data and work documents. Chris was able to retrieve all of my data and for a reasonable price and a very quick turn-around. Gave it to him on a Wednesday and I had a thumb drive with everything by Friday evening. So grateful and appreciative.
I had a USB flash drive that stopped working when I plugged it into the computer. It had a lot of old, personal photos that I thought were lost forever. I took it over to PCS Data Recovery and was blown away by the result! My expectation was that I might get some pictures back in a few days if I’m lucky... Chris at PCS saved my virtual life. I use Samsung phones and rely heavily on my micro SD card, as many people do. Ive had the same card for almost 5 years, and 3 days ago, it completely died without any warning. My phone displayed an error message, and couldnt read the card. I tried to access the card with various computers, but had no luck. The computers did not see the card at all. My music was all on my computer, but unfortunately, I was horrified to realize that photos had not backed up since mid-2016.I contacted Chris the next day (after struggling myself for much of the previous night) and he invited me to drop it off right away. He was straightforward about the difficulty of retrieval, and with pricing. It was expensive, but I looked into other companies as well, and he was by FAR the best priced option.Chris worked hard for 2 days, and it was difficult. He explained the process and options, as well as the challenges, and I really thought it probably couldnt be done (for less than maybe thousands). But then, he called and let me know that by some miracle, he accessed my photos! He had to operate on my tiny micro SD card under a microscope, and solder a hair-thin broken connection. I can only imagine how tough that was to pull off. I am so grateful for his efforts.I highly recommend PCS Data Recovery. If you have an issue, dont touch your device, and contact Chris right away. Hes local, which was a big plus, and he has great prices and expertise. Afterwards, make sure to back up your memories (regularly)!
Chris is a data savior! He was able to recover my files from a physically damaged hard drive within a day and worked with me to make sure I recovered everything I needed. His service is reasonably priced and excellent!
All of these 5-Star reviews are legit! I dropped a portable hard drive filled with tens of thousands of files. Knew that physical recovery was an expensive process, so I really did my homework to find a place that I trusted to recover everything possible for a reasonable price. Chris was prompt and had great communication every step of the way- all for a price that was very competitive with similar services. Another bonus- everything was done on-site. The last thing I wanted was to have my already-damaged hard drive mailed off somewhere and just take on further damage as it bounced around in the mail. Thanks Chris!
Chris (owner) went above and beyond. I was working my jewelry business (Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski), when my dog tripped over my laptop cord and sent it to the ground, breaking my flash drive with tons of important files, Sunday night. I was hysterical with the thought I could have lost years of work. I called PCS Sunday night. They got back to me right away. He met me Sunday evening (before curfew) and had recovered all my files, by Monday early afternoon. I was relieved!! Couldnt thank him enough. Lifesaver. Highly recommend them!!! Amazing!! Computers never seem to go toes-up on a Tuesday morning. When my C-drive died in the midst of a major work project, it was 7:00 p.m. on a Friday. My first impulse (after the panic attack) was to take the drive to a big-box tech store. Happily, my wife put me in contact with Chris at PCS instead. Not only did he take my phone call at 9:00 on a Friday night, he scheduled an appointment early the next morning (Saturday!) and got right to work. Chris save my bacon both on the work project, and got back hundreds of family photos which I never (of course) bothered to back up. He even took time with me after the data recovery to give valuable advice on configuring a new computer order.Take my word for it, dont waste your time at the big box tech store - go straight to the expert. Chances are, the big box store would have just takent my hard drive and sent it to Chris anyway. I cannot recommend PCS highly enough. Simply top-notch in every respect.
My MacBook Pro died a few days before a major deadline and I lost a large file I had been working on that I hadnt backed up yet. Life Saver! I am the idiot who had ALL my photos on one hard drive. When it stopped working and a chain retail store couldnt fix it, a friend recommended PCS Data Recovery and I am SOOO grateful! Chris is a miracle worker!!! I screwed up a download to my flash drive and everyone, even my company IT guys, told me the information was lost. I called Chris on a recommendation from a friend as a last ditch, hail mary option and not only was he able to recover all of my data but he did it within a few hours of me dropping the drive off to him. When it comes to computers I am no more adept than your average chimpanzee. Last week my worst nightmare occurred and I deleted years worth of irreplaceable photographs. Ive taken my laptop to PCS twice in the past 18 months - once for a major loss of data, and more recently for a relatively minor problem. Chris did a great job fixing my computer both times. He was knowledgeable, professional and very helpful - and his prices were very reasonable.
I had an external drive with all my work on it stop working on me. Regular off the shelf recovery programs could not recover my most important files which were non-standard file types. Chris was able to recover not only my important files but all the folder structures that recovery programs did not. On top of things he did it super fast! Hes beyond a time & life saver!
I contacted Progressive Computer Solutions for their data recovery service. Long story short I have an iMac that I use for editing photos. I ran out of space so I deleted a folder and emptied it in the trash and by mistake I deleted the wrong folder. It was filled with important images that I needed back ASAP.... I took my computer into Geek Squad as they told me they can recover deleted files - no problem. Several times I asked specifically if they had success on iMacs and they said YES! Well, after paying their fee and them running their recovery software and contacting corporate low and behold - their software is not compatible with Apple products - so they could not recover the deleted files like they said they had success in doing.Upon leaving Best Buy - I call Apple for help. Their lead engineer said recovering deleted files cannot be done at all unless you have Time Machine enabled - which I did not.From here I go to Google and look up data recover for Apple iMac in Buffalo NY I go to the Maps listings because you would think the people listed on the Maps in Buffalo are actually in Buffalo, but after I dial the numbers one by one I find out - they are not. These companies have virtual offices or aka - drop off locations where you have to drop off your hard drive and ship it to their corporate office. So I would need to have my screen taken off the iMac to get the hard drive, and find someone to do it so I can ship it to them. No offense but what if my drive gets lost in the mail? All companies claiming they can recover my deleted files - but,,,,I have heard that before. So I kept on dialing and finally,,,,,,I found someone who is actually in Buffalo, NY, and as skeptical as I was at this point, I thought, well, what is the worst that can happen? I drop my computer off and within 24 hours I had my deleted files back. There are no words to express how grateful I am to find Progressive Computer Solutions. I highly recommend Chris, he is remarkable at what he does.
Chris is a GODSEND. I highly recommend him! He was quick, professional, and very knowledgable.After a round of several lightning storms, I went to turn on my computer a few days later, and as it was plugged into the wall, realized it got fried one of the storms. (yeah I know, Im an idiot.)Boy I sure learned my lesson. The most devastating part was the idea of losing all my photos, dating back from 2004. I tried to not panic, hoping there would be a way to get it all back. After speaking with an IT guy at work, he recommended if I could get it worked on locally, that will be my best and cheapest bet. My MacBook Pro decided that every piece of it wanted to stop working. After several wasted hours with Apple, and a recommendation by another company, I brought it to Chris. While I technically have a new mac now, he made sure everything was set up for me with all of my old data. He kept me informed the entire time and charged me a rate below any of his competitors. While I really hope that I dont need his services again, I definitely recommend PCS.

2022-06-27My external hard drive wouldn’t mount, and all I had been in the middle of backing up my laptop. Nothing I could do, or anything the IT guys at school could do anything. I had many years of work and irreplaceable recordings on that hard drive, so I needed someone that knew what they were doing to help me. I brought my external hard drive to PCS Data recovery last week, and I just got it back today. Every file that was on my bad hard drive was saved! Chris did a fantastic job, and the pricing was fair for the work he did. I would highly recommend being very careful with your removable hard drives, and if something happens, PCS Data Recovery to the rescue!

2022-05-10Went in with 2 bad hard drives after was quoted multiple thousands to have them shipped out and repaired in WEEKS. PCS took care of recovering ALL data from both hard drives and putting all the information on a spare external drive for me for less than 1/4 of what the big names were asking for. Great service, great turnaround. Highly recommend.

2022-03-21When my hard drive stopped working, I didnt know what to do. Most of my data, including years of irreplacible photos, were on that drive. Most of the other places I contacted wanted to have my drive shipped to another state or country to be serviced and charge thousands of dollars. PCS did the work on site and only charged a small fraction of that, and they recovered my data. I cant recommend PCS Data Recovery enough!

2021-10-21Chose PCS based on their years of experience and their 5 star reviews. Those 5 star reviews are well earned! I purchased a new computer and 5 days later the hard drive died. The owner at PCS is very knowledgeable and it would have been rather costly to retrieve the data, however he did his due diligence and asked me several questions. Because he did, he was able to retrieve all 13,540 files from the old computer and external hard drive that was used to transfer the files to the new computer even though they had all been completely erased which was a HUGE cost savings as opposed to having to dissect the fried hard drive on the new computer. This to me speaks volumes as to his honesty and integrity. In addition to that, he had this all done with every file completely restored in under 24 hours which was amazing. If you need a data recovery expert, look no further, this is where you want to go hands down!!!!!! Not too many places provide this level of service these days and they go above and beyond!!!I will be recommending them to everyone I know and the only place I will go should I need this type of service!!!! Use them, you’ll be glad you did!!!

2021-11-16PCS Data recovery and Chris were extremely professional and responsive! I had over 34,000 pictures and videos on a hard drive that was unable to open even with help with apple and Chris not only was able to save all my files but in the same format I had them before (albums per year per month etc) I am beyond pleased as these pictures and videos are priceless!

2021-12-19I had an emergency recently. My external drive died and I had no access to critical files. Not only did PCS provide expedited service, Chris successfully recovered my files. You cant get this service anywhere else in the Western New York area. He is an expert with many years of experience. He is thorough and very professional, too. 2021-09-27Very fast response/recovery from Chris on this job. We had a flood come thru in North Central PA and it took out our server. We exhausted our local IT on recovery and came up empty. Quick Google search and found Chris and his reviews and made the trek to Buffalo. Paid off, he got all of our data back from a submerged server in 14 of flood water and mud. Could not be more happy with how this turned around! For our little company, all of our history was on that server..
