5 days ago, I bought fish from here. By time I got home ( 10 minutes), one was dead. Brought it back, waited 20 minutes to get taken care of( they were NOT busy). But, they replaced it. Yesterday, it died, AND 2 of the other ones I purchased died. It costs more money in gas to keep going back and forth to replace these fish. Customer service isnt the greatest any more. Guess Ill stick with PetSmart. The fish I bought from them 3 years ago are ALL still alive. Tried to contact customer service on line and they told me they cant do anything. Extremely disappointed. You just lost a customer.
Justin is a great help in the fish department. He convinced me to do the right thing and move my Pleco and huge goldfish to a new 55 gallon tank, and make it a cold water tank. Which allowed me to keep my 30 gallon warm water for my smaller tropicals. All fish and tanks are healthy and thriving 😊
I love Petco, they have a great variety of items for whatever your needs are. If you have to order online they usually have the item in stock and you are able to pick it up on the same day. The only issue I have is with the grooming part of Petco. My son has a Persian cat and needed to have him groomed. From the phone call to schedule the appointment to going in for the appointment was ridiculous. The person who scheduled the appointment went back and forth between a few appointment times, I picked 3:30pm they put me in for 2pm. They were rude on the phone like I was bothering them. I get there for my scheduled appointment time, let them know the cats name and the girl says oh your only an hour and a half late, and her side kick says super loud...yeah. They were both rude and I would never trust them with my pets. They seemed stressed and irritated and I would hate to see how they treat animals behind closed doors. Needless to say I found a nice groomer. I will continue to spend a ton of $$ at Petco for my 5 pets but NEVER go to the West Seneca groomer.
I have been to that cold before thats where I take my pets to get their vaccinations yet this was my first time going to the one on orchard Park road. I must say that there was a difference and everything seems to be a quick response with no concern behind it questions I had for my dog they passed off like this is what they do I wasnt used to that type of a treatment with the red cold on the boulevard they were concerned and they gave me time it wasnt like I was asking for 20 minutes to a half an hour but they really were concerned about what I had to say and address the question accordingly not like what I received today and I did pay much more here than I normally do and I asked why and they says well prices did increase some I just didnt feel like it was a good visit for me or my pet.
Horrible every time. Multiple employees seemingly doing nothing, one outside smoking a cigar at the entrance. I wait five minutes in the only open line available. Finally someone realizes the most important thing is checking people out. They open a lane but didnt know how to charge me for some chew treats. Had to walk to the back of the store to scan barcodes. Naturally Im over charged for pig ears when a) thats not what I have and b) local pet stores havent carried pig ears in over a year. I didnt feel like wasting time telling them they over charged by a dollar so I used the saved time to hopefully help prevent anyone who reads this from ever coming here.
The staff GREETED us with a friendly shout, EACH were friendly, polite AND? worked together! The young lady who greeted us was concerned but felt someone else was more knowledgeable & put us together. He then helped us find a specialty food for our sick dog, also making sure we knew our options for return if necessary.
Very helpful! I had an issue where I ordered online using gift cards and threw them out once the order was placed. When I went to pick up my order 2 items were no longer available so a refund was going to be issued to the gift cards (that I had thrown out). The new associate who helped me was very nice and took my name and number so when I called the GM she said shed have the gift card ready for me whenever I had time to stop in. I stopped in and got it about a week later with no issues at all. Everyone is always very nice in this store. It just sucks that the prices are higher than other stores
Havent been to Petco in years and I dont know why. They have a really good selection of items for all types of pets. A surprising amount of animal bedding too. Id say more than other pet stores around. Workers were friendly and helpful as well and the bathroom was nice and clean.
My cat had become very sick, very quickly. He had to be put down on Saturday, and I didnt have any paw prints of him. I was able to order the kits Friday night while at work, and pick them up first thing Saturday morning. I now have two wonderful memory keepsakes of that wonderful boy
Awesome. I went there with doubts. I bought 2 mystery snails from pet supplies last yr. And was told by woman that they are guaranteed NOT to breed. Well i didnt do my own research (shame on me) and was told by the woman a big fat LIE. Not only can the reproduce by breeding they are also a sexual and can reproduce with out breeding. So 6 month later i see what is their breeding and for past 6 months my larger snail has laid clutch after clutch. One was viable and i niw have 63 babies I can not keep
Needed pet pee pads in an emergency; surgery thing. They had a good selection of sizes and quantities. I realize its hard for them to complete with @m**** or Wally World for pricing so they didnt have the best pricing but in a pinch if you need something around the corner close to you, chances are they will have something for you.
Petco website tell you its $7.86 and when you get to the store its $10.89 . I told them the website price is lower and the guy said Falwell cant help you . So i did a store inspection to see if its up to par and i give it a -1 . 1 being out of shape store and 10 being a perfect store . That store is a total mess . Boxes of product land next to shelves and not put on the Shelf . The floor needs a washing because you can smell dog piss . People working at a snail pace and nobody caring about of the store looks . Corporate needs to be called to get this store running at 100% .
This is where I take my beautiful American Eskimo that I was lucky to get thru a re-home in the begining of the pandemic. Denise who works in grooming does a beautiful job with Melia, shes on a 8 week grooming plan. Melia was nervous at first and now shes happy to go, because she knows its going to be her wonderful spa day 🤗. Its also great that while shes grooming, I go and get all her food, toys, all her pet needs in the store. All the workers in the store very friendly and happy to help! Great place to go for your pets!
(For management purposes my initial visit was October 11th just before closing and my second visit was October 12th around 5pm) I will be fair with 2 stars. I went in one evening before close and bought 4 fish and a piece of established wood. The wood was degraded into sharp edges and put in the same bag as the fish. I got home and edges of the wood were breaking off and one of the fish was skewered.Fast forward to the next day and I stood around in the aquatic area for about 35 minutes with the staff member attending to daily work and occasionally helping other customers. I finally went to him and explained the situation. The response I got was bring the fish and a sample of water and they will replace the fish. (This is policy he said.) First, I have 22 tanks, Im not going to keep a dead fish overnight and bring in a water sample when it was dead before I even got home. (To give an example of the sharpness of the wood, I had to hold the bag most of the way home because the wood had punctured it and it was leaking.) I told him this and his repeated response was bring in the fish and a water sample. What is he going to replace it with? I took their last ones. Second I asked about the piece of wood. He told me to bring it back in and they would replace it. With what I asked. We walked on the tanks and all of the pieces were worse than the one I bought. I said ok.... what about medicine. You have a fish I want but it clearly has ice. If you have the medicine, ill take it for a slight discount and its partner too and take care of them myself. Almost no medicine was in stock. I decided to just grab another net and go. This is the third time Ive been there where all if the nets are large and up. I saw a smaller net hanging on a spot next to the tanks with a tag stating 2.69 or something around there. At the register it came up to 4+ dollars. Ok fine I bought it anyway, things regularly get placed back in the wrong spots by customers. I explained to the cashier about there being no smaller nets. She said she would see that more are ordered. I said dont bother, I probably wont be back I explained my experience and that...is when I got my first apology. She is why there is a second star instead of 1. (I came here because if is right down the road from my new home after my house burned due to the neighbors negligence) I would rather travel the distance and go back to the stellar staff and care of the petco at 1459 Niagara Falls Blvd. Overall one of my worst pet store experiences in the area.
This location is about 30 minutes from my house as compared to other stores that are only 15 but the drive is well worth it. For any reptile or fish needs this location rocks. They have a variety of tanks in stock and many times have them priced lower than other stores. Always double check their website for prices before you buy as I have had them price match their own website on a handful of occasions.
I placed an online order, (with curbside pickup,) which totalled aprox $26. When I arrived, the item wasnt available in my dogs size. The manager said it was cancelled, but they could price match the other order and ring the next size up for me, (inflatable collar for needed for post surgery.) When I got home, I discovered that I was charged over $32 for the item. $6 might not mean much to Pet Co, but it means enough to me as a consumer to consider shopping with them anymore. This was completely wrong. The price should have been honored.
They have a great collection of pet products. We come back to this one because they carry a rare cat food (according to my girlfriend). Me, being a fairly oblivious animal person, always enjoy the fish, birds and cats they have in the store. All appear to be in good health.
I adopted a cat that would bring company to my other cat. When chosing one I wanted to know that he was good around other cats. Which he was a sweet loving cat. The staff were helpful and kind and made the process easy. I was happy to give this little guy a sweet and loving home.
Clean facility. Has a good selection of most pet care products. Be mindful of employees they might not always have the right information for your specific pet, and sometimes cannot help you locate certain products if they dont know what you are looking for. The fish section is normally clean sometimes there is water on the ground making it a little slick.
I enjoy going to Petco. They usually have products I cant find elsewhere. Parking is free. There is handicapped parking. There is a handicapped entrance with automatic doors. They have handicapped restrooms. The salespeople are friendly and helpful. There isnt much of a wait to check out. They have fish, turtles, and birds for sale along with all the accessories!
My puppy was acting crazy, I had to ask a girl that was stocking shelves where a certain dog food was. She not only stopped what she was doing to help me, but she walked me right oven to the food I needed & played with my puppy for a min to help me ! VERY nice of her to do all that!
Do take your pets there to be groomed!!! An employee working at petco was seen grooming a dog so aggressively that the dog was shaking and snapping at her and when the manager was called and told about the incident he just said that she knew what she was doing and brush it off! My daughter grooms pets for a living and I can tell you this she does not treat animals this way!! This place needs to be shut down! Please , if you care for your fur babies take them someplace else.
I go to this one all the time because they have this type of fish food that the other petcos dont carry plus they seem to have more pet animals there and a good variety of fish as well and the staff there are very helpful and care for pet you are asking about as to giving you good advice
I went in looking for a specific fish tank. I was ready to spend the money and not one person approached me or made any contact while I was in the building. They had a food selection if fish and their live plants looked healthy. Unfortunately I just had a bad customer service experience.
I was in the store recently, purchased some snacks for my dog. Connie waited on me, she was very friendly and helpful. Later that day i realized i left my wallet(with cash) on the counter.I called in and it was being held in their she for me! What a pleasant surprise!
I went there to get fish fliters. I did not know what ones i needed so i bought two different kinds l. Well i cashed out and the girl never gave me a receipt. I ended up needing to return one of them so i went back and explained what happened and the manger there is not a good one. It is not my fault i did not have a receipt.. your employee should always ask if i would like my receipt never even asked me. She just said have a nice day and walked away. I good employee would most likely put it in the bag but no she did not. They gave me a hard time for something that is not my fault
Its definitely not the worst place to go for pet supplies, but remember, its a national, big-box pet store. There may be a couple of people there who know their stuff when it comes to one or two of the animals available for sale, but I would highly recommend that you do your homework, and know exactly what you want from there.
My family has 2 birds 2 cats 2kids and a dog ....we get all our pets needs this economical anything your pet needs and more store.... The kids love to bring our dog and our dog loves to bring the kids store... On top of all of this Petco has friendly and helpful service. Due to experience I would be weary of the vet clinic (do your homework)We ❤ Petco
Today I was in the West Seneca, NY store. I have 2 Morkie pups I spend a great deal of money on. I saw a section of dog coats with a sign advertising Buy 1, Get 1 50% off with Petco Rewards. I chose 2 jackets and 2 fleece vests. When I got up to the register, they rang up at full price $19.99 each. The clerk asked me to show him the sign. I did. He said he had to talk to a manager. He came back and said the sale doesnt start until the 31st. I live 1-1/2 hours away....certainly Im not driving all the way back up there in 2 days to save $20! The manager didnt even have the decency to come talk to me. Why would the sign even be there if the items didnt go on sale for 2 more days! This $20 and the treatment I received has led me to one conclusion....Im done shopping in Petco. There are many other pet supply stores and places on line who would love to have my business....and treat me with much more respect, like Petsmart and Pets Plus, and Chewy. Word of mouth goes a long way and I fully intend to let my family and friends know about this incident so they arent treated this way too. Shame on you!!
I support Petco because they dont sell puppies and are against puppy mills, unlike other pet supply stores. (!!See edit below!!)However when I was looking at some of the hamsters I was fairly upset at what I saw. It looked like one of them had some kind of eye infection that no one has done anything about, and she wasnt the only small animal there that looked unhealthy. I hope the staff here checks on these animals and takes them to the vet if needed because otherwise that is very cruel to let the animal suffer or sell it to someone who then has to pay for the vet bills themselves.EDIT- after I posted this, I have seen signs in the store about letting the manager know if an animal seems sick. This is great news!! I changed my review to five stars :) Petco is a wonderful store that I am proud to support, they really do care about their animals
Good variety of supplies and food. Staff is friendly. Pricier then other stores but Petco frequently has sales and store coupons. Good selection of fish and small animals including Ferrets which other stores dont have. Great selection of animal clothing for any season and holiday and the best variety of Bettas.
Good variety of pet food, toys, anything you need for your pets.I get mixed opinions about how to care for my fish tank. One trip me I need a snail and this product, so I bought a snail and there stuff. Another says I cant put a snail in a tank with a gold fish, but this stuff is better.Google will have to settle this one.
My family has a lot of spoiled pets so we end up in a pet store almost every weekend. I think that weve been to almost every pet store within an hour ride of our house. We bought a guinea pig while there and I can honestly say Kim Moham the employee that took care of us was probably the most knowledgeable, nicest, and helpful person Ive ever dealt with and on top of that they carry a lot of stuff other stores dont. Everything was very clean and all of thw animals looked extremely healthy. We will definitely be making the half hour ride to shop there again.
So to start off Ive bred and sold exotic fish for years, shipped them accross country to buyers. My expertise is far above your employees. I asked to get some plants and fish so I could redo my 10g tank to be a planted aquarium instead of gravel. The employee then fired a series of questions at me and then denied selling me fish because I dont have the tank set up. It was just running but is drained halfway to allow the new Sand to settle. The tetras I wanted to purchase are easy to care for and hardy yet Kristin still refused. Its not your job as a minimum wage fish tank cleaner to tell somebody who has made thousands selling fish how fish work. I told her all this and that petco will lose my business if she refuses and her response was thats fine, we can lose you I promptly handed her the other $75 worth of goods I was going to buy and left. Moral of the story is that petco is not a fish friendly store and dont care about their animals or customers
They get their puppies from puppy mills which are disgusting and the animals are sickly and untreated, emaciated etc and thats where Petco gets them from - its all About the money for them. A lot of people who buy animals from there they end up dying very quickly or are very sick. I would never purchase an animal or anything for that matter to support them. Once I saw a bunch of people picketing a Petco store
I enjoy taking my dogs for walks though all petstores. What i dont enjoy is when an employee is noticibly talking bad about me or my dogs. Not that we did anything wrong but when an employee holds up something to block her mouth while talking to another customer and keeps looking at you, you know that employee is being rude and unprofessional. This is directly related to the currly haired lady that trains dogs.
They got me in for an emergency haircut of my dog toy poodle Katie on Thursday the July 19th 2018 my friend called Petco on July 18th and they were able to take her in the very next day and thats very rare and all I had to do was bring copy of my rabies for her and she was pretty Matted all up... okay unbelievably matted .up because I havent had a car since about May end of may . because my brakes need total replacing in the rear and until I save up what volkswagan is trying to rip me off of for two rear brakes I dont have a car and I finally found a neighbor that offered to drive me after begging six people in this apartment building that had no sympathy or heart and I have no family that has sympathy or a heart and Catherine had to take 3 hours to do her instead of 2 she was so bad and that is my praise and one other thing when she called she called five minutes before she was getting ready to leave at 6:55 and she quit at 7 p.m. and we were just finishing up at a restaurant that we went to for the two to three hours before we had to pick her up instead of going back home and my friend explained to her that 6:55 that we wouldnt be there driving until 7:30 and for that I apologize even though we werent giving only five minutes before she quit thats all and Im sorry to the manager and the people that maybe had to look in on her but she was in the cage and she was okay and I just want to say I hope nobodys mad you know that we didnt get there until 7:30 from 7 because it took her longer to do Katie than expected she did say two to three hours and thats it and I hope Ill see them again when I can get a ride in a car to get her groomed and hopefully itll be before she gets all matted up ...cathy ps . Forgot appointment was at 4:30 we were on time but by the time I was able to explain how short to make her from head to toe that took up over 20 minutes so Katie wasnt even started till around 5 p.m. . So she really was done in 2 hours and thank you again to the manager who brought her out to the register because all my credit cards were denied and I was trying to pay and it was taking long at the register I couldnt help it and then people got in line and it got backed up and the manager had to come out with Katie and open up a register while he was holding Katie

2022-04-05Tyler is so awesome!!! He should be paid top dollar for his expertise and customer service. I hope he opens his own Tarantula shop someday. I know many collectors frown upon pet stores dealing tarantulas, but Tyler really knows how to properly care for them. We promise to take care of this T the best we can. Its a truly special specimen.

2022-04-15My Yorkie had her very first grooming appointment with Denise and she was fantastic. She made me feel comfortable and was very patient and kind. When I picked my baby up, Denise made sure I took advantage of the perks and discounts Petco had to offer and spoke with me about any concerns she had. My baby Phoebe looked so good and Denise listened and did exactly what I wanted. Glad to have found a nice groomer with the help of these reviews. Thank you Denise and Petco!! 🐾💕

2022-06-04I love going to Petco! They always have what I am looking for and anyone working in the store is always willing to go the extra mile to help you find what you are looking for.You can get one or two items quickly and cash out time is fast. If you have the time you can browse through the store for quite awhile. This is especially the case when you bring a child or grandchild with you. They love looking at the reptiles, fish, etc.The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it is priced a bit higher than ordering online.Keep up the great work Petco!

2021-09-19Whenever I need help in here I look for Drew. She’s always happy, helpful, and knowledgeable. One time I had ordered a cat tree online but once I got there it was too small. (They don’t list the sizes of the perches online) she had to get a few different ones down from high up and did so happily, without even a hint of being aggravated. She gave me her opinion and I actually bought 3 pieces. The next day I had a fish problem and went in and was happy to see her and she was just as helpful. What a great employee petco! I hope you give her the recognition she deserves!!

2022-01-03Tyler educated me on beta fish & the supplies I needed for my daughters birthday gift. I got it all set up & another woman helped my daughter pick out her fish & snail the following week. Everybody was very kind & professional
