So impressed with Polar. They had the most competitive quote and were knowledgeable, professional, and efficient in installing my heat pump and duct work. They went above and beyond in organizing the attic insulation and patching even a small hole in my ceiling which had been there prior to purchasing the home.
Working with the Polar team has been nothing but the best from the very start to the very end. They installed both ducted and ductless mini split systems as well as a hybrid water heater.There are key points that stand out like no other. They answered numerous questions thoughtfully, came to the house to discuss options more than one time (we had lots of questions), provided an excellent system that fit our home and was very reasonable compared to others while not placing any pressure in making a decision.Their onsite team was careful and thoughtful in every step, letting us know their progress, worked very quickly, and at the end of every day leaving the house tidy and clean. When they completed their install, they made sure we had a solid understanding of the various units, not only how to set them up but also customizing them to our needs.Their initiative to take care of all the paperwork including registering our new equipment along with filing all the paperwork for rebates and incentives was fantastic. Yesterday Polar came out to my house to replace my very old furnace with a duel heating/cooling unit. Everyone was very professional, very clean and very creative on how to design certain aspects of the system that not only functioned properly but also looked good as well. It’s Day 1 so we’ll see how the system operates over time but the service install itself was excellent. I can’t speak for the other services they offer but if it’s anything like my experience yesterday you’ll be very happy with the result. I would highly recommend this company. Best of luck!
Skilled installation, great customer service!Polar recently replaced an oil-fired steam boiler with two Bosch inverter heat pumps (one in attic and one in basement) and a Daikin mini-split. We were very pleased and would HIGHLY recommend them.Jared (co-owner) and his installation team were highly skilled, courteous, and friendly. The installation required many different skills, and the team seemed highly trained and worked well together. Jared was present during critical phases, and John, who led the team when Jared was not there, communicated well, fixed anything we were concerned about, and was a jack-of-all-trades (comprehensive skills). The house is 1850’s and beams are not regular, so they worked with us to find places for vents and ducts when some of the planned ones did not work out. They cleaned up at the end of every day, and went over what was done. They worked late to get the job done, and John came back on his day off for a final cleanup and explanation of the systems.I also want to recognize Ray (co-owner) and the office staff. From the beginning, they were patient with questions and continually kept us informed. Polar has a no-interest financing arrangement with a bank, and is a certified Central Hudson clean heat installer. Polar did all the paperwork for the NYSEG/CH rebate, explained the bank arrangement to us, communicated when they needed signatures. At the end of the installation, they bundled ALL the paperwork (estimates, daily reports, rebate application, etc) together and emailed it to us!Polar is skilled, and pays attention to details and customer service! Highly recommend!

As a licensed boiler engineer, I was truly impressed with the installation crew. They were meticulous, with an eye for attention to details. The even cleaned up afterwards. The tested and retested making sure the boiler operated the way it was supposed to. Hats off to their boss for hiring this crew
We were really happy with Jared and Ray at Polar. They were easy to work with. Helped us go over all of the possible options, including ones that qualified for rebates. Work began on the date promised and finished in 2 days as agreed. System is working great and we would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a professional HVAC company.

Finding a good and reliable contractor can be a stressful and scary exercise. We all have horror stories about contractors that dont show up for the job, have poor workmanship, charge super high prices for little work, try to sell you services you dont need, and in general, treat you like theyre doing you a favor by gracing you with their presence when they show up late to fix your air conditioner. I contacted a few contractors for this big job - a completely new whole house heat pump system. Most never responded, and one was rude to me on the phone.Then there was Polar.From Betsy to Jared to Ray and the entire crew, start to finish, everything was as smooth can possibly be expected. Phone calls were made and returned when promised, appointments were kept - all on time, all my questions were answered thoroughly (and lord knows I ask a lot of em), and everyone was friendly and professional. When searching for a company to install a heat pump system and do other plumbing work, Polar plumbing was one of the two companies that actually answered their business phone. And they were the only company to follow through with scheduling a consultation. Jared was professional and thorough and helped give us the set up that was both curb side appealing for the exterior and looked great on the interior. The crew was fast, clean and friendly. Ray was fast with email responses and answered any questions I had along the way. I’d highly recommend using polar plumbing.
I found this company by Google search, called and got a friendly live voice on first try. I explained I needed a Furnace Boiler maintenance service for my home and had a service appointment scheduled in about a week. They Called me the day before the service to remind me, and again an hour before the arrival time to say the service guy was on his way. A nice fellow arrived on time, performed a through cleaning, service, and test of my furnace in a little more than an hour and was on his way. They then followed up with an email of details of the parts and work performed emailing a detailed copy of my bill. I have to say, I was completely pleased, and satisfied with the work performed by all at Polar Plumbing, Heating , and Air Conditioning. I suggest you give them a call for your home utilities services, and based on my experience you will not be disappointed. To the folks at POLAR, dont change a thing, keep up the great Service! Cant say enough about this company. I have had bad experiences before with other work on my home, so I researched an HVAC company that would be best for what I needed. I heard about Polar from a moms group on Facebook. So many people recommended them I thought I would give them a try. They didnt disappoint. I needed CAC serviced and ducts cleaned. After examining my boiler and testing my water, I needed additional work. They caught things I didnt notice, especially the boiler. I highly recommend them - very professional, clean, and most importantly honest. They never made me feel like they were over-pricing me or trying to sell me on something I didnt need. When everything was done they followed up and made everything super easy, even helped me with the zero % financing. Here is some of the work they did, minus the CAC (water softener/whole house filter, boiler valve, and flue pipe).
Our entire experience with Polar was excellent. It was a large investment to install AC in our entire home and we were definitely concerned. From the financial aspects to installation these guys were top notch. They knew of discounts to save us money but also explained in detail the immediate and long term of what to expect. The systems are running and they did all the work in less time then expected. Can’t say enough on how impressed we are.
Polar installed a ductless Fujitsu mini-split system in my house. The whole process was very informative. Knowing nothing about this type of system they not only came out and gave me an estimate but they explained everything I needed to know about this type of system. They also explained how it would be installed. They installed it very efficiently in about a day and a half. After installation was complete time was taken with me to explain how the system works and what I needed to know about maintenance of the system. Every worker with Polar was very professional and treated my property as if it was there own. I am very happy I decided to do business with this company.
We recently moved into a new home. We had Polar Plumbing come to service our air conditioning system where we discovered our unit was contaminated with mold. They were able to help us remove the mold infested units, sterilize the vent/duct systems, and upgraded our systems to a BOSCH heat pump system. We waited a few months after the installation to leave a review and since then our system has worked beautifully. The installation team was extremely helpful, worked quickly, and was very clean and respectful of our property. They did such a great job they will be forever our service provider. Thank You!

Tech came to do scheduled maintenance on furnace and discovered several problems. Gave me options to choose from, which I did, an estimate, and said theyd be in touch. A few days later, they called and set me up! Two techs came to do the repair of furnace/boiler and install a new hot water heater...they were not only on time, they were early! That was fine! They got right to work, did their job, tested everything out before they left and did GREAT cleanup! Not sure it was even their mess they were cleaning up! They answered questions, explained how things worked and were overall, very patient with this old lady! Now that my husband is gone, I am at the mercy of any repair person because he was the one that knew a little bit about a lot of things and would know if they were scamming him....Im not. I never have any fears with Polar! If they tell me its ok, I know its ok; if they tell me I need this or that, then I know I need this or that! I have complete trust in the techs that have been here, the office staff, the owners! Jarred even came out the day before to explain what they were going to do and when they would do it! Thats what I call service!!!
Had our old central air system replaced with new system. Everything went so smoothly, the guys, Cole, Jake and Fausto were so professional. They worked together well and explained everything to us as they went along. Going to use Polar Air for our furnace cleaning next week for our first time.

After getting quotes from 6 different companies to get Cental a/c, ductless, and heat pumps installed we chose Polar because they seemed very knowledgeable and honest. They didn’t waste our time they cut straight to the point of what we needed based on what we told them we were trying to accomplish in our home with a/c and heating. Their knowledge of how we could get the rebate from our electric company for installing the type of system we wanted was the best bonus of the deal. They arrived on time the day of the instal and explained and went over any questions I had. The team that did the installation was very professional and polite. They made every effort not to make a mess and cleaned whatever dirt or dust was made during the installation. After everything was installed the gentlemen that’s was in charge of the project made sure that everything was inspected and running perfectly. He also explained how to operate they systems and answered any questions I had. I had central/heat pump installed up stairs with two mini splits/heatpumps down stairs.. Polar came in much cheap than 3 other competitors and the quality of work is excellent. Both Ray and Jared communicated with me throughout the process and answered every question and concern that I had. The guys they sent over for the install were very knowledgeable and professional. My only regret is not getting my system installed earlier..

I cant say enough positive things about my experience with Polar. Their service was excellent, from figuring out what equipment we needed, scheduling the job, to the actual installation. They set up both heat pumps in one day! Theyre incredibly organized, friendly, and knowledgable about how the equipment functions in our circumstances.Even after the job was over, Ray took the time to review again the warranties, town permits, and rebates available . My boiler stopped working on a Saturday night before a holiday weekend. I thought I could get someone handy to fix it but after 2 days, I realized it wasnt going to happen. I called my first boiler company on a Tuesday who diagnosed it and gave me an estimate to fix. The estimate was so high I knew it would make more sense to replace it. I interviewed 3 companies on a Wednesday. I chose Polar Plumbing because they were the only ones that quickly gave me my options without trying to oversell me a system I didnt need. I contacted them at 3:30 that Wed and they immediately contacted my town to get the necessary permits. They convinced the town that it was an emergency and by Fri. I had a new boiler, water heater system. I was extremely impressed at their professionalism. They explained everything to me in a way I could understand. I would and will recommend them to anyone who has the need.
We couldnt have asked for a better experience when we called Polar. We have been in our home for two months, and right before the latest snowstorm, our boiler called it quits. We called Polar and they immediately provided excellent service. We decided to go with a tankless system, and felt comfortable doing so based off of the information provided to us by Polar. I don’t write testimonials often, but this had to be written. Ray, Jared and crew did wonderful work. There was constant communication and there was never a question. They were on top of everything. My prior contractor quit mid job, leaving us without heat. Companies came in and provided estimates. The estimate costs were similar, but the scope of work to be done differed. Polar Plumbing explained what work was needed; it was more than the other companies said, but the price was still the same. We came to an agreement, started the work and ran into additional problems. Polar made the changes and stayed within the same time period. I recommend Polar to everyone in need of lumbing/Heating service…Remember “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price….”

We had issue with water running noise but cannot locate the point of problem. We called Polar Plumbing asking for the diagnostic work. Ray listened my issue patiently over the phone and tried to provide helpful hints for the possible causes of the problem. Unfortunately, none of the self diagnosing hints paned out. Then, he scheduled the work (not an urgent issue since no water leaking ) and waived the diagnostic fee.Mike came on time and was able to locate the problem within 5 minutes. The noise was caused by a toilet tank and bad valve. He also provided the estimate cost of the fix on site.Although, we did not move forward with the service due to our budget issue and the nature of the problem. Due to the professional attitude and courtesy they’ve shown, we will definitely consider them for future plumbing work.
Company works very well as a team, one member came and got electric ready, second crew put ductless unit in and worked clean and safe and extremely fast. Very polite and professional while they worked with my wife and two kids home. I have talked with both owners who are very helpful and quick response with calls. Owner also came out to help with fixing the current central air unit to find that I had a bigger problem then expected, in which they did not force the most expensive option. They gave me all options first. Going through with second job with them in less then a week and couldn’t be happier. Pricing is very reasonable vs these big company that kill you with fees. I highly recommend this company!!!
Let me start by saying that this is 100% a real review and I rarely leave a review for any company, good or bad. But I had a great experience that I needed to take the time to write this. My wife and I was in the market for a water treatment system and researched a few companies. Ironically I called POLAR plumbing, heating and air conditioning mistakenly. WOW what a blessing! Ray, Jared, and the entire POLAR crew were amazing. Ray set up the appointment, Jared came out fast and gave a great price on the spot. Within a few days the POLAR crew came out and installed the water treatment system. My wife and I were so satisfied with the quality of the service we decided to inquire about a new boiler system with POLAR. A few days later a new boiler system was installed. Needless to say the install of the new boiler was amazing! The POLAR crew are professionals and pay attention to details. I am glad that I’m a POLAR member now and have a peace of mind that POLAR is on our side if we need anything in the future. We will definitely be using POLAR again for our heating, air conditioning and plumbing needs. Again, this is a real review. GREAT COMPANY and you will not be disappointed!!!
I hired Polar Plumbing to replace my existing direct fired water heater because it was reaching end of life and wasn’t keeping up with our hot water needs. I had originally considered a tankless system and when Jared visited my home he took the time to explain the features of the tankless system and contrasted that with an indirect fired system. We decided to go with the indirect system with a whole house filter. At that point I was still meeting with other providers because I wanted to be diligent about understanding the different services and indirect tanks. Through this period Jared and Ray were incredibly responsive and thorough in their responses to my follow up questions. At one point Jared came back out to my home to perform a water test because I had inquired about a water softener as potentially part of the project and he was very forthcoming about when he would or wouldn’t recommend a water softener which I felt exemplified Polar’s commitment to satisfying their customers and not just trying to up sell the project. I of course opted to go with them for the project and Mike performed the installation beautifully. It’s a big job and the previous water heater and filter installation hadn’t thoughtfully considered the placement of the hardware but Mike was excellent in this manner. All of the plumbing looked great and tie-in to the old work was excellent. Mike was very considerate of our water needs and expedited the cold water supply back to the house so we had access to water.I was beyond satisfied with the entire experience and will definitely be using Polar again for my heating, plumbing, and air conditions needs.
Had my furnace lock out on me and wouldnt reset. Called up Polar, spoke to Ray and was able to have the issue fixed within a couple of hours. Jared came and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem while also explaining to me what the issue was so that I could better understand my heating system. Im now an annual service customer of theirs for my heating and AC system. I appreciate the promptness and quality of service, as well as the information about my system to help me in becoming a more efficient home owner. Thanks fellas.

Completely satisfied with the work performed. My 30-year-old central air-conditioning was removed and replaced with a new Bosch air conditioner system with a heat pump. The work was performed quickly and efficiently. The crew was clean, courteous and professional. From start to finish Polar took the stress out of doing this major HVAC project. All of Polar workers wore masks,Gloves and work boot protectors. They also covered the floor with tarps and vacuumed at the end of each day.The work was all done with the utmost of care and professionalism. November 1, 2020Polar Homes Services: “They wont let you down”.When we bought our home earlier this year Polar installed a new heating and water purification system. All seemed well in the world. As this is our second home, and with the Covid outbreak, we did not return until 4 months later only to discover that the sump pump failed and tripped the GFI circuit shutting down our entire water purification system. The sulfur odor was back big time.Polar offered a solution as a first step at a reduced cost to us to correct the situation. It appeared to have worked at first, but days later the odor returned and began to worsen. We were very frustrated as was the Polar co- founder Ray Hedrick and his team. He stayed with us the entire way and recommended a new effort that would change out the hot water heater elements, filter and soak the entire system with chlorine once again, at no additional cost to us.Unfortunately, the sulfur odor returned in a few days. Obviously, something else is going on. Ray contacted the equipment providers to develop a plan of attack. On August 19th. new additives were introduced into the system to kill the sulfide bacteria. Right now the odor is gone. Keeping fingers crossed. Sadly this solution did not hold, the sulfur odor returned in 3 days.Ray, undaunted, developed a next step plan that included the presence of the rep for the equipment involved. That week, the rep and Mike from Polar set upon their fix. The rep introduced new Ozone technology that he claimed to be more effective than chlorine in neutralizing sulfide bacteria. This new component was installed and the system drained once again. Odor is gone for now (13 days), we are holding our breath.Polars efforts exemplifies what true customer service is and they clearly went the extra mile to satisfy a customer and stand by their guarantee. They absorbed the additional cost to modify the system and kept us informed during the entire journey.If you are looking for a plumbing service that stands by their work and product, you can find none better than Polar Home Services. Excellent experience my whole furnace and condenser was shot! They were super respectful, cordial and ON TIME even given the Covid-19 situationa! I am so happy that we went with them. Woke up to no heat 2 days ago and tried to get local guy to come but he just put me off until next week!!! I was frantic, so Googled it! Found Polar Plumbing and called. Was amazed to have a human being to talk to, Fred. He was VERY helpful and this morning, @ 8, Omar arrived! In less than half an hour, problem was diagnosed and repaired and he was on his way! 2021-10-07I called Polar Pete to discuss the installation of a ductless heating and AC system for my cape cod style home. They were able to schedule an appointment for Jared to walk thru my home and discuss what would be needed within a few days of my call. I agreed with everything that he suggested and I decided to proceed with the install. We completed paperwork over the next couple of days, parts were ordered, and within 2 weeks of my initial appointment my entire ductless system was installed. The entire crew was friendly, professional, and polite. They walked me through the use of the system and explained everything they did. They were even great with my dogs and cat. I am very satisfied with my system and am looking forward to saving on my heating and electric bills in the future.

2022-05-23Choosing Polar Heating was the best decision we ever made!!!!! Jared and his crew are the best. Jared stands by his word and gets the job done. Mike the lead plumber is very professional and respectful and knowledgeable. Ray, Christian and Betsy are also a great help with scheduling, rebates and just keeping us in the loop. They made a gas conversion seem fast and easy. They are great at what they do. It’s very rare to find a company who treats you like family and cares about their work. I will definitely use them again and would recommend anyone needing plumbing or hvac services to call polar. Don’t call anyone else.

2022-06-14My entire experience with the team at Polar was a positive one. Last Fall I had a few people give me estimates on replacing an old furnace and installing central AC in my home. Jared came out and described the various options we have and gave me a full estimate the same day for my three options. I ultimately decided to hold off on the install, but 8 months later when I called back Jared picked up right where we left off, quickly giving me an updated estimate and starting the process right away. We scheduled a one day install and two weeks later I had a crew of 3-4 guys at the house doing the work. The crew was polite and professional and the install day was a breeze...they handled everything, answered my various questions, and cleaned up the space on their way out. The crew in the Polar office were also really helpful and friendly as we booked the install and dealt with payment. Overall Im extremely happy with the process and the finished product. I highly recommend speaking with the Polar team about your project!

2022-03-25Was in search of a company to replace an oil furnace and install air conditioning in my home. Solicited 3 and received 3 bids from reputable contractors in the area and Polar was the lowest, responsible, and responsive bidder on the project. Hired them to do the job and from the initial contact for a bid through the completion of the project they were amazing with phone availability and support. The crew that responded asked our preference about the wearing of masks while they were in the home and all personal wore protective over shoes to prevent tracking anything from outside in. The first day on the job site the manager gathered the whole crew that would be on site and reviewed the entire plan from start to finish making sure that everyone knew their specific responsibilities and exactly what my preferences were about locations of split units, registers, thermostats etc. At the completion of every workday the job foreman reviewed exactly what was accomplished that day, ensured that everyone had picked up all the drop cloths, cleaned up the entire job site and laid out the plan for the following day. Each day after the work crew had left the office would call and confirm the return date and time to ensure that everyone was on the same page. Once the job was competed, a final review of the entire system was performed along with the technician walking me through the entire system and demonstrating how it functioned in detail. I cannot express how impressed I was with the customer service of this company from the first phone call soliciting a bid all the way through the job completion. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the market for plumbing, heating, or air conditioning.

2022-05-30Polar was wonderful to work with; from the very beginning, they gave us quick responses and turnaround times. They installed a ductless heat/AC system throughout the house, removed all of our baseboards, took out the old furnace and removed the oil tank form our property, so we were able to transition easily from oil heat (no existing AC system) to fully electric. We hope to install solar panels in the near future and we feel great about the comfort this afforded, lessening our environmental impact, and saving money on our heating and cooling. If you’re considering conversion from oil to electric, I highly recommend it. Polar walked us through the entire process, including financing options and submitted the rebate paperwork for us. Their team worked hard and they even worked around out scheduling needs. We’ll also receive a tax credit next year. Overall, this was a great experience, thanks to John, Ray, Jared, and Christian. 2022-04-09Jake and Kole recently installed a cooling system and heat pump in our home and we could not be happier with the job from start to finish. Everyone at Polar was professional, honest and did everything they could to answer all questions throughout the process. Communication throughout the process was outstanding. Work began promptly and they finished within two days. We are so happy with the product and only wish we did it sooner! 2022-01-24The guys at Polar Plumbing an Heating installed a heat pump system and a water treatment system for us. They were on time, worked hard, and did a great job. When there was a small problem after installation they came out the very same day we called and fixed the system in the freezing cold. Good installation, and good response time. Really nice people. 2021-04-30We had our new system installed in one day! The crew was unbelievable! Couldnt ask for nicer people to come into our home. They took the time to make sure everything was working properly before they left. And one guy went over with us what they had done and if we had any questions. Couldnt ask for more than 5 stars! Thank you Polar team for all the hard you had done. So far everything is great and the house feels comfortable.If anyone needs the heating system, go for Polar because they are very honest people and give great information! You wont regret using them at all.
