Weve bought three Subarus here and have had all of their service done here for the last 15 years or so, and have always been very pleased with both sales and service. Reading the other reviews, it sounds like most of the people who had problems had VWs. Their issue may be with the car, not the dealer. I have recommended this dealer to others without reservation.
I had the best experience ever purchasing my 2014 Suburu Forester. Even though I wasnt available during hours when the dealership was open due to a crazy work schedule, Brian Drexel took me through the process incredibly well. He met me on a Sunday morning for a test drive and they came in early in the morning to give me my car. He searched for the exact car I wanted and gave me a fair price. He has followed up since then, checking to make sure all was well, which it is.When have you ever had that kind of service? It was a wonderful experience. I cannot say enough good things about Brian and Prestige.
Went to this dealership to try and return lease and buy new vehicle. The sales associate I spoke with was extremely rude. Manager never returned phone calls to try and set up appointment. THIS DEALER WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO TURN IN LEASE. Im always looking to supporting local businesses but unfortunately will never walk back into this business or recommend their services. I have owned VW my entire life and have NEVER had this type of experience previously with any dealership. This dealership gives VW a BAD NAME.
This is THE BEST dealership, a far cry from the nonsense that other dealerships put you through. They are the most professional, customer-service oriented, straightforward and responsive operation, while working with customers in the most cordial fashion. See Andrew for sales or leases!
I went here to get a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. These guys were amazing. They were able to answer all my questions and made buying my car a great experience. At no point did I feel pressured to add items to my purchase. I would absolutely tell anyone I know to get their car here.
Had an appointment for 9 o’clock brought my car in , they told me they would take a look , sat in the waiting room for 1 hour , after The hour I got up and asked for an update and they told me my car won’t even be looked at til “after lunch”. What’s the point of an appointment ? Highly unorganized and extremely arrogant. Bring your car somewhere else your better off.
Dont go here and waste your time and money. These people shouldnt be apart of vw they overcharge for everything and they only have two mechanics in the shop and ones on disability. There customer service is awful and the manager was extremely rude. He only respects the people that bought cars from him. He said if id bought the car from him he would be able to make an appointment today. I said I didnt and he quickly told me up for two weeks you can make an appt. I hope vw can do an investigation on this place they are defiantly not professional.
I had a pleasant experience at Prestige Imports. This is a great spot if youre looking for a car. The sales consultants were not only knowledgeable and informative, but they listened to what my needs were and helped lead me to the right choice. I felt absolutely no pressure; they made it easy and virtually stress-free. Recommend!
I had a good experience when I bought my VW here but its been a real bummer dealing with the service department - rude and unhelpful. Last time I tried to get my car serviced I brought it in the night before and when I went to pick it up the next day at 4 oclock they hadnt even started to work on it. I drove it home without getting the work done. Need to find a better garage!
I can only speak to the service department. Despite the fact that I have a Volkswagen and live very close to this place, I have finally taken my service elsewhere after years of rude, inattentive, overpriced and often highly suspect service. When I recently took my car to another mechanic he couldnt believe the shoddy work that had been done on my car. I highly recommend you avoid this place unless you want to be charged too much for terrible service.
As a 23 year old girl who knows nothing about cars and suddenly found myself in need of a new car after my last one broke down, I was pretty stressed about dealing with car salesmen. Brian and Anthony were so incredibly helpful, walking me through the process and never making me feel pressured into anything. I would definitely recommend buying a car here.
OK here are the facts. You want to stay away from Pleasantville Subaru Service department. This Subaru Dealer replaced the front brakes on my fathers 2002 Subaru Outback. The rotors, pads and calipers were replaced for $900. Three days later the left front upper caliper bracket bolt came out while driving on a 4 lane highway. Caliper was banging on the inside of the rim. I stopped the car and jacked it up and discovered the lower caliper bracket bolt was about to come out too. Subaru did bring me the bolt so that I could repair the car in a parking lot, however the next day I brought the car to Subaru for more inspection and the service manager had me wait 1.5 hours before I finally said to myself why did I ever come to these idiots in the first place and left. Please save your car and your life and stay away from this place. Not only that they are a rip off!
They had my car since 9am today for two warrenties. At 3pm I received a phone call saying that the lower control arm warranty was dealt with but in order to do the airbag that they would need the key to the glove box. I informed them that they key to the car was the same key for the glove box. The tech tried that with no luck, we will try again if it doesnt work we will call you back I was told. Well at 5pm no phone call from subaru I decided to call them and shocker they still couldnt get the glove box open, I responded with Im on my way over. Not 5 minutes later I get a phone call that they finally got the glove box open, but because of the timing the car wouldnt be done until some time tomorrow. Needless to say Im not putting the life of my passenger in the hands of techs that cant unlock a glovebox. #endrant
Stay away from this dealership!! NightmareI have been having the worse experience with the service department.. its been 18 days so far and I can not get a diagnosis on my car. I have been withouta car ever since because they said they can not provide me with a loaner , even tho my car is pre-owned certified and i have warranty untill 2019. Service department is just TERRIBLE AND RUDE.. nonstop excuses and they never get back to you. Worse experience in my life!
I cant speak to the sales experience here, but the service department is disastrous. Im trying to get my car repaired for something minor, and they just can not get their act together. Theyve forgotten to order the parts; they say theyll call me back when I call but then they never do; they pass me from person to person, but no one seems to be in charge. The end result is that I havent been able to drive my car for a week over something that should have taken about two hours to fix. And it would be one thing if this were super-budget service, but these guys are expensive. $100 an hour labor and parts that cost at least 50% more than what youd pay to buy them yourself online. (But of course they wont let you do that.)All in all, a very stressful, frustrating and expensive experience. Steer clear.
They dont seem to want service business. Lots of No No on the phone, was well as If and really dont seem interested in providing timely appointments. And just generally not friendly. Too bad. Some companies build their business on providing great service -- gets people in the door, builds trust. That was my first and last call to them.
Horrible dealership, I brought my car in to get an oil fix (but the car still ran fine) . I came to pick up the car and was told my engine was seized! It was a 2015 vw gti. This is insane !!! Do no ever come here I’m telling you. I wouldn’t even give it a star if I could! @stoneturnquist for more info.
On Tuesday, I make an appointment conveniently online because I was at work and could not give them a call. Wednesday, I get to the dealership, I was not on the list and because I made the appointment online I was told that I should call to confirm my appointment. Totally defeating the purpose of online registering. How was I not on the list when I received a confirmation phone call and text message earlier that day?All I wanted was to get my NYS inspection done. The guy (hes lucky I cant remember his name) at service then says, Can you try doing it locally?.. WELL NO S*** I could but because you had a 5:15 pm appointment slot available online and I get out of work at 5:00 pm it just seemed like it would work, right? Local places usually close at 5pm in which lies the problem, hence why I went here to get it done.Needless to say, Dont come here.
This is the worst dealership I have ever been to. They are over priced and rude!! I went there for a Subaru Impreza. They where $1200 higher then Stamford Subaru!! And the OWNER Jim Borelli told me Im not here to give away cars! He was so rude and condescending! I would rather walk everywhere then buy a car from them! STAY AWAY!!!!
I was very pleased with my entire experience at Prestige Imports in Pleasantville, NY. Everyone from my sales person, to the sales manager, to the service manager was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I would recommend Prestige to any and all looking for a Subaru or Volkswagen.
SOLD ME BOOTLEG parts that have never worked. Found that out when I took my problem to another dealership. Currently dealing with Subaru America who claims that since the parts are not Subaru parts they cant help me - no warranty on parts that are not Subaru. WHAT????????????. Calling attorney. See you in court.
Let me preface this by saying I have never written a review of anything in my entire life. This place is so bad I felt it necessary to steer people away from doing business with them. The people who work here are extremely unorganized and unhelpful. It seems that every step of the way they are trying to make things harder than they should be. Avoid this place if at all possible!

2021-12-27Bought our car in one trip to Prestige VW. Called the sales manager and asked if they had a new car that had adaptive cruise control (look it up). He hooked us up with a top of the line VW Taos. After its first month we can say we absolutely love it. Couldnt be happier about the car or the deal.Waiting for the fifth star after experiencing the service dept.

2022-05-18I just had the best car purchase experience with Brian Drexel, the sales manager. Buying an ev in this market has been extremely difficult. I’ve reached out to many other dealers in the tri-state area and most of them were charging insane markups, requiring non refundable deposits or playing sneaky games.Prestige had an ev I was looking for and Brian confirmed they didn’t charge markups above MSRP. He had all the paperwork already prepared when I arrived and it literally took less than 5 mins to sign the docs. He didn’t waste my time trying to up sell me or sneaking random fees.I would highly recommend working with Brian.

2022-03-18Warranty work this time. Got to meet one of the new mechanics - a bright, articulate, personable guy. While he worked, I pulled out my work laptop and was productive. At the wrap up we discussed in some detail what was done today, what will be coming in the spring based on miles and months, and an eventual exhaust repair on the distant horizon.Several years later (March 2022) update ... In these pandemic years no waiting on site while work is done, but they have been keeping my car running despite its advanced age making parts harder to get. They worked through my list of it doesnt sound right or feel right, addressing each, and after the repairs things now sound and feel as they should. One of these years I hope to find an apt replacement vehicle for this little, nimble workhorse of a wagon, and if it is a VW or Subaru, I know these folks can keep it in great shape.

2021-02-01WORSE SERVICE DEPARTMENT!DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!It has been over a week and I have not been able to drive my 5 month old VW Atlas Cross Sport Lease. There is a defect on my car door sensor, It took them 5 days to let me know the part is backordered and they refused to get me a loaner. I am unable to get my car back because it is unsafe to drive. I am paying for a lease and I am not able to drive my car or at least get a loaner car. I am extremely disappointed with Prestige Imports VW service department as well as VW customer service. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO Prestige Imports VW service department and DO NOT LEASE/PURCHASE a VW if you are looking for good customer service.

2021-02-19Only 2 stars because the sales process was smooth and easy. Everything else about the service department, parts pricing/availability, showroom, and customer service is horrendous. This must be the least functional dealership I have ever encountered. When I first bought a brand new, fully-loaded 2018 Golf Alltrack a year ago, on day 2 off the lot, the sun screen for the panoramic roof broke simply by using it as intended. This is not the fault of the dealer, but what is their fault is their complete inability to resolve my issue in over a year. The first time it went in, I was told that if they replaced the screen, the entire drop ceiling would have to come down. I was told I risked PERMANENTLY damaging the roofs interior with a big crease. That could be a risk if you have no idea what you’re doing or have had to take it down and reinstall it 3 or more times. They’re just lazy and/or incompetent. And if a crease was formed during the process they should replace the interior panel. It’s brand new.Afraid to let their guys touch it, I told them to just remove the screen and not replace it until end of warranty. It took them over a week to do anything, and when they did, I realized it was something that probably took a few minutes. I paid out of pocket to tint the sun and moon roof so the car could be protected from the sun. They couldn’t remove it. Weeks later, their shoddy work caused the remainder of the assembly to jam up the actual sun roof. They crudely cut parts out without fully removing the screen assembly. So now it’s been a year since I’ve been able to give them the time they need to do the job right (supposedly with a new head mechanic) and they’ve had the car for over a week. I try calling to see what’s up and it goes straight to voicemail every time. This is commonplace at Prestige VW. From what my wife told me, they’re unsure what I’m actually having done on the car (fixing they’re mess is what’s being done).Nothing ever gets resolved here. Never buy a car from this place. In the event it needs warranty work, you can guarantee it’ll take forever and won’t be properly serviced. My mechanic was shocked at how bad their initial attempts were and had told me so many Prestige VW horror stories like mine since buying the car from them. Time to complain to corporate, although they’re useless over there, too. The largest car manufacturer in the world doesn’t care about us. Big surprise.

2017-03-01Brought my Subaru in for a recall repairs. My car was in their possession for 24 hours and theres a crack on my windshield which they denied accountability. The serviced manager told me it was noted upon arrival that there was an existing crack, refused to take responsibility. Told me to check and see if my insurance will cover the repair.Im always looking to supporting local businesses but NEVER coming here again! If you choose to bring your vehicle, make sure you inspect your vehicle with them and have them sign off before handing over your key.

2019-12-20I took my new Subaru in for an oil change. Picked it up that evening and noticed as soon as I got home that there were grey splotches all over my hood and windshield. I called them right away and reported the issue. They didnt call me back. My husband then took the car in and they refused to acknowledge or do anything about the issue. Wouldnt even let us talk with the manager. Not to be trusted

2020-03-13Please do not buy a used car here or get your car repaired here. I bought a used car and within four months it broke down on the highway. After taking it back for service, it took them over a month to diagnose the problem and they consistently hung up on the phone and dismissed us. After a month, they diagnosed it and spend three months repairing an engine issues. After claiming it was under warranty, they charged us almost $2,000. When we picked up the car the axels were broken and we had to take it elsewhere to get fixed. It broke down again two months later and for a third time this month. At Volkswagen of white plains, they were shocked at the engine work previously done and told me the car is good as dead. So not buy a used car here or get yours repaired.

2018-01-25Always an Excellent Experience at this dealership, this is my 2nd car I have bought at this dealership. The owner Jim is amazing very caring and always willing to make his customers happy. The salesman John was terrific and very Knowledgeable with Subarus and Andrew is very helpful and Knowledgeable with VW and most helpful with anything you need. Rosemarie in Service is the BEST! I totally recommend this Dealership and Service Department for your next purchase. They are honest, knowledgeable but mostly treats you like family. Great, Great, Great Dealership!

2014-03-06Very very BAD customer service, they do not do perfect work like one expects from a dealer. They assured me that they checked all they could in my car and that nothing else was wrong, however the light for the airbag was still on…how am I suppose to feel safe leaving the dealership like this? What else could be wrong? Somehow the only things that need fixing while my car is still under warranty are the things that I have to pay for. I asked a simple question and was turned away by 3 workers who didnt care to help. Sorry for the nice people who work there as well, but my last few experienced have been extremely frustrating.
