Radisson Hotel Niagara Falls-Grand Island in Grand Island

We stayed here on July 14, 2021 to visit Niagara Falls. The staff (only saw 1) was friendly but the grounds were in pretty bad shape. The building looked unkept and dirty and the landscaping was overgrown like the place was abandoned...nothing like the picture. The hotel lobby was ok but the hallways felt like a tunnel (very low ceilings) and the rooms were outdated and kind of blah. The good news is that the rooms did appear to be fairly clean. I was disappointed in the amount we paid compared to what we got. I would not stay here again. I think we could have done a lot better for the price.
The upside.....clean rooms, comfortable beds, clean public areas, lovely views of the River from our balcony, plenty of parking, and a staff that went above and beyond to meet our needs.A Special Thanks to Ramilda..hope I spelled that correctly, and Albert. My husband & I are retirees and I am Physically Handicapped.Upon check in, Ramilda & Albert were incredible, offering extra help when they saw we had a need! Not to take away from the rest of the staff, every one of them were fantastic! Always had a friendly greeting, a smile on their face, and were incredibly helpful! The downside....they recently had a kitchen fire and no food was available in the hotel. (An act of nature which happens in life.)However, there was always Coffee available in the Lobby and snack machines throughout the Hotel. The second thing, (also beyond their control), was the fact there are currently staff shortages; which meant limited days for the Bar, limited maid service, and limitations in a few minor other areas.(Grand Island, as well as many other areas of our country, are still suffering from the ability to hire sufficient help due to lingering effects from the Covid Panademic.)However, this incredible staff did everything possible to made sure you didnt notice or were not inconvenienced!Every day there was someone cleaning the Public areas, not only on my floor, but in the Lobbies as well!Anything you needed was available for the asking. They had just finished a Phone Update and ours was not working. When I reported it to the front desk, 3 repairmen were ALREADY up in the room with my husband fixing the phone when I got back to the room. (I only stopped to pick up a few brochures from the Lobby!)We checked out the indoor pool but never got the opportunity to try it out.I did notice when we first pulled up, that the outside was in need of landscaping work. However, I did see the staff working on it while we were there. What I experienced overall, was a staff who took pride in their Hotel, did everything possible to keep the guests well serviced and happy, and did so with a smile on their face!If you wanted to look for things to be unhappy about, I am sure you could find something. That comes with an older building, staff shortages, no kitchen, and so on.But our expectations were more then met and our experience an awesome one. (Plus the fact we got a great price for the room using the Radisson Rewards Site!)Radisson...Stand up and take notice! You have a gold mine in this staff and I hope you reach out and reward them! They make up for any shortcomings the Hotel may be currently dealing with. They DESERVE to be Reconized!Would I go back there again? In a New York Minute I would!Thank You to the staff of the Radisson at Grand Island, New York for making our 25th Anniversary a very happy one!Susan & Francis C.
It was a disappointing experience, to say the least. The shower faucet leaked terribly, there was a strange stain on the bathroom mirror, the toilet constantly ran, lamps by the bed were missing light bulbs, coffee in the lobby was not available until 8am (and it wasnt good), and no housekeeping unless you stayed for 7 days. In addition, some of the front desk staff were oddly confrontational. It was so strange because you just dont see that type of body language and approach at most hotels. I think each one of these individually isnt awful, but altogether I left feeling like I overpaid for the stay.
My wife, my dog, and myself stayed at this establishment for four nights. Prior to booking we looked for an affordable hotel with a decent pet policy. After looking at the hotels website and other third party websites, we decided on the radisson. We chose this due to the $50 per stay pet fee. We promptly booked our room and upon arriving we were informed that they had no notice of our pet though it was included in our reservation and that the fee would actually be $25 per day. This doubled the cost that countless sources had on their sites but alas we agreed upon the fee due to the reservation being non refundable. They stated that our pet could not be in the room by himself, that he could not bark or we would be removed from our room and be forced to find a different hotel, and that any damages would be on us. I understand the damages but my well behaved pet should be able to be in the room by himself without supervision since Im already liable for damages and barking. Anyway, once getting to our room, it was a disaster. Almost every vertical surface near the floor had no paint from prior animals scratching, the balcony door did not lock but had a metal bar to prop up. The door that connected the adjoining room was not the correct size which forced us to have to put a towel at the bottom to protect our privacy. The toilet constantly flowed and when flushed, the entire upper portion emptied, wasting tons of water and taking almost 5 minutes before you were able to flush again. The toilet flowing 24/7 was so loud that the bathroom door needed to be closed when not in use. Water at the hotel seemed to suddenly stop working one night and then once it started again, violently shot water from the sink. The USB outlet by the bed would constantly surge and stop working so we had to resort to using standard outlets.the paint and wallpaper were bubbling off the walls and looked as if standard maintenance had not been done since the previous remodel. Also, hotel management allowed dozens of tourists to room all together so in our hall, there were three rooms with roughly 10 people in each room. The one elevator on our side of the building was constantly full to the point that you could not fit in the elevator. Luggage carts were left abandoned in the halls. The coffee shop that apparently has not been open for months still had food and drink inside, most likely spoiled since the time it has been closed. The exterior of the hotel gave off a vibe of an abandoned building. The grass was roughly two feet tall and made it impossible to see the secondary entrance to the hotel unless you were right next to it. The parking lots were littered with garbage and dog feces. Asphalt was in dire need of a seal coating and was clearly neglected for years. I do not recommend Radisson Hotel Niagara Falls - Grand Island and would strongly suggest you look for other options before considering this hotel. I would not be surprised if this hotel was to either go under new management or be shut down altogether in the near future.
Positive: The pool and the guy at front desk thats been working there awhile. Hes extremely corteous, polite and helpful. Negative: Jacuzzi not working... nowhere close by to eat...doesnt offer breakfast not even to purchase...one extremely old turn knob microwave in the lobby and my room was on fifth floor. Very annoying
Positive: The location was very nice when staying near Niagara Falls. Nice comfortable beds and plump towels. Negative: Didn¿t care for the step into the bathroom, also our shower head was coming out of the wall, and the drain was broken. There was no breakfast unless you wanted to pay for a pricey buffet.
The room was filty and old. I let them kno w tha the balxony door of my room doesnt close. But never offered to chain room . no restaurant or bar open. I hate to see hor a hotel with so much potential is dying. Plus the service is kind of racist. So i advice you to save your money and find another place.
Charging money 2 times with out your permission.. but when you want to booking online theyre promise they are didnt chargeing you if you are until not arrived ..but they are did so funnyStay away from this hotel guys I got bad experience in my life from this hotel stuff.. this area have lot off nice hotel please dont go there..
Positive: Our rooms view was amazing. The room was very big and clean. The staff was very nice. Negative: I think that in the past this was a glorious hotel, but now is very run down. This is reflected in the price, that was a bargain. They had a problem in the kitchen recently so they dont serve breakfast, nor have a restaurant.Food options are few and far
The room itself had a lot of issues. The building seems old and the rooms really need to be updated. The juccuzi in our room did not work, thier were bugs everywhere, loud noices all night and the doors didnt lock.... So yeah, a lot of issues. Staff was friendly for the most part but not very helpful when trying to book the gazebo for an event. The location was ok, a bit far away from Niagra. The great view from the hotel room is the only reason for 2 stars instead of 1.
Positive: The lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas. Negative: The hot tub was closed. When we were checking out, we found a piece of poo behind the chair near the bed. Couldn¿t tell if it was human or a dog¿s, but it was pretty gross. Also found a bunch of beer-pong balls. The cleanliness of the room was very
If I could rate this less than 1 star I would. This may be lengthy so bear with the ride Im about to take you on. Our situation had guided our family of 3 to the Radisson for about a month and because I didnt know how long we would need to stay due to our home not being ready to move in I was forced to extend our stay a number of times. On the counter there is a statement that says there is a $50 hold on your credit card for incidentals. Fine, however we extended our stay so every time I did so the woman at the counter would tack on another $50. When it was a different person he said they could over ride that and no problem. The end result was $200 in hold from which I still have yet to fully recover. On Grand Island there is an ordinance saying you cant stay in any Hotel/Motel for more than 21 days, again no problem. We checked out and checked back in the next day,$50 more on hold still no release of the prior deposit. They also accidentally charged my card for $155 which was their price for 2 days. I already paid for this through the 3rd party app so I had them supposedly refund. Still havent recd that yet and was told it would take 1-3 days. Its been 3 weeks and my bank says no sign of any refunds. They also said they couldnt give me the same nice room that was overlooking the river. They gave me a spectacular view of the parking lot and the top of the rotting poorly patched roof. The lady ( ex resident of the Island) rudely laughed and said that they overbooked and the people that were getting our room was getting an awesome upgrade. I was fine with the new room because in room 520 there was so much mold in the tub you could draw pictures in the bottom of the tub.due to covid alot of the amenities were not available but all of the ones that werent effected by covid were simply closed. Bar was closed ( the only closed bar in the area) restaurant was closed due to a fire that happened months prior. Hot tub was empty and the employee that quit because she was screwed on pay told us that prior guest abused time limits so it was easiest to close it. That incredibly rude woman at the counter laughed and said it was because they couldnt get parts for it. The pool department said it was a lie.........I called Radisson Corporate office with the concerns mostly about the charges to my card and they said I needed to speak to the locations general manager. At first the woman said it was Kate and I specifically asked for the general manager. Kate is the front desk manager and again lies. These people had successfully diverted me from speaking to the elusive general manager.Theres alot more but in nut shell Ill say this. Dont bother staying there. Its just a matter of time before it changes its name again and maybe then it will be run properly. Sorry Radisson, this is a fail
I was excited to stay here because of the views and the close proximity to my family’s house. My husband and I flew in from Texas, we got in super late and were quite disappointed upon arrival. This place is disgusting. Where do I begin… The room was not clean at all. They claim the entire hotel is remodeled, but the wallpaper on the walls of our hotel room were peeling and revealing what looks like mold underneath. There was hair in our bed before I had a chance to even sleep in it. The carpet was dirty/filled with stains. The sheets smelled awful. There was a dirty sock on the floor in our room when we arrived. The AC was so loud it kept me up the entire night. Don’t even get me started on the bathroom… the toilet, sink, floor, bathtub were absolutely atrocious. We were switched to a business king suite on the third floor which was much more cleaner than the first room. Still didn’t sit on the couches in the room as there were brown, raised stains on them. The third floor reeked of cigarette smoke and smelled like a dirty motel. It’s safe to say I won’t be returning. I’m only giving two stars because I relayed my concerns to the hotel staff and Kenya was VERY sweet and accommodating. She wanted to do anything to help make our experience better. It wasn’t her fault that the hotel rooms are disgustingly dirty and smelly.
Avoid this place like the plague. We stay here probably 8 or more times a year only because its a dog friendly hotel and my family all lives in the island. But each time it gets worse and worse. Bugs in the bed, bugs in the curtains. Rusty water dripping in most of the hallway ceilings and everytime you notify someone they pass the blame onto someone else and you end up still in the same spot. Will be reaching out to the GM and Corporate this time. This is getting ridiculous. Youd never know this is a national hotel chain. And the way the little guy at the front desk who claims to be a supervisor talks to prople. He needs some customer service training. Wants to handle everything but has nothing but excuses and blames everyone else for everything. Claims he has no knowledge and is not responsible for anything any other employees do. So why do we need to talk to him?...See attached pics. Hotel looks nothing like advertised pictures. Used to be a great place.
My family and just spent a week here and everyone was so polite and helpful. Each time we left the front desk would greet us with a have a great day/weekend and each night we returned we got welcome back! ...and our river facing room gave us a beautiful view each morning
About 2 years ago my family and I were going threw trouble kicked out of our residence due to a misunderstanding with a 8 year old kid with the first stimulus check we went and stayed here for a month the staff was understanding and caring and loving finally when we were able to get back for our sons birthday we were greeted with how have you guys been how is everyone they even bought my child a birthday cake and we celebrated his birthday with the staffed that cared so much about us we love the radisson hotel and we love the staff simply amazing no better hotel in New York
Positive: Check in was quick and customer service was great. The indoor pool was clean and not crowded. The view from the room was fantastic. Having Starbucks on site was a plus! Negative: The outdoor pool was full of bugs, thankfully someone came out to clean it. Not having a microwave in the room and having to go to the lobby to heat up food was inconvenient. It would¿ve been great if our room had chairs on the balcony like the other o
The hotel itself seemed nice, but the hot water stopped working, so we left without showers. No microwave was kind of a hassle. No breakfast.Theres a pier out back, but its marked keep out.The front desk ladies were lovely, and the place looks quite nice, I just think some attention to the issues I mentioned would make it even nicer.
Went this past weekend for a pleasure trip to New York from Ohio. The lady at check in let us check in early, we were always greeted when we entered and told to have a nice day when we exited. The indoor and outdoor pools were nice, gym looked clean and all public areas looked welcoming. They serve Starbucks coffee and refresher beverages as well as a few breakfast offerings. The restaurant in the hotel itself was closed due to no staff, but there are restaurants in the area on the way out in both directions. The view of the river spectacular, and there was plenty of room on premises to stretch our legs. About 15-20 minutes from the major attractions and felt like we were far enough away from all the lights and noise to enjoy the quiet.. We just felt so welcomed and felt valued as customers. The coffee was not good in the room(thankfully there was other options just off the lobby), the water pressure left something to be desired (but the water was hot) and the tub didnt drain quickly (almost like they just needed to clean the drains). My suggestion is to bring your own toiletries because their shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturizer was not what I preferred, but they were all readily availablein the room with their own products. We had a very nice stay and would come back again.
They staff are so Rudy and spaicelly morning time reception Rudy lady I didnt staying hotel but they are charging from my credit card..I booking 2 rooms in online but when I taking my keys they are give me 1 room key I asked why they staff are said we dont know ask your booking.com .. its so funny..I have confirmation number everything also I stayed this hotel my last trip one week ago ...When I booked room I trying to contact with them just let them know I will checking hotel in 29 march 2022 6am to 8am and we will check out before 10pm 29 march 2022 but they are didnt receive my phone.. charging money 3 times.. please stay away from this hotel I had bad experience with this hotel also my friend we feel so insults from them..
Will update if needed. This is only night 1 of 3. When I booked this reservation 3 months or so ago I was attracted to the idea of a clean, neat view of the river. In-hotel restaurant, bar, Cafe, whirlpool, fishing dock etc. Since booking and paying the price for all of that, none of that is now available or true. While the staff at the desk is pleasant and kind to deal with, he also seems to be the only staff in this hotel? They are not running any of the mentioned amenities due to being understaffed and while I understand the issue, we should not have to pay for all of this and not reap any of those benefits. The property has been poorly maintained and I almost want to go out with a trash bag and hedge trimmers and clean it up myself. Only decent view we get is from our 5th floor room. From the ground all you see us overgrown vegetation and trash. I can tell this hotel has potential to be very nice. But weve paid more than we would like for not-so-nice. Hate to say this as were not high maintenance and this is our first trip to New York.
The room was fantastic; we had the king suite with a patio overlooking the river, and it was comfortable and roomy! The customer service at the front desk, specifically Randy on the day we checked in, was top-notch, and they went above and beyond to help us with our reservation, and gave us great recommendations for restaurants in the area. Plus I enjoyed how the hotel is away from busy traffic, but still very convenient for travel to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. It was a great trip and well probably visit again next year.
The side entrance to the hotel smelled horrible.. avoided it after the first two times using it.. Shower walls were covered with someone elses hair! Carpet in the room was sticky. Lets just say the housekeeping staff needs some real guidance in cleaning a room. The toilet ran almost constantly. Let the manager know Sat morning but nothing was done.. which we found out upon our return very late Sat night... the bed was very comfy, I usually wake up extremely sore when I sleep in hotels, not this time. The front desk supervisor Kenya was very kind & was very helpful.
Rooms are clean and includes most of the basic things you need. A microwave in the room would be a good addition. Also, the breakfast wasn’t provided just because they were short of staffs. Poorly managed. The area is nice though. You can walk along the Niagara river and enjoy the beautiful scenery around. Ample parking space.
Don’t book here! I can’t believe anyone gives this place more than one star! We stayed for a wedding weekend after driving from out of state. The front desk had two members of their staff who were very short tempered. The maids and maintenance staff were sweet when I asked for the ice machine and when our TV would not work. However our “suite” was a disaster! Gross gross gross! I envied our family who stayed at the holiday inn. Some of our family actually switched hotels after one night. Had one of my kids end up with a shard of glass in her foot, later that night so did I. Clumps of hair in the bathroom and in the corners of the room. Wall paper peeling off the walls. Greasy finger prints on the light switches and TVs. The rooms smell musty and the whole hotel is saturated with what smells like pet stain remover. Such a waste of money. I’ve stayed with this chain before and I’ve never seen anything like it. No ghost experience at least.
Mixed review. Beautiful view to the river. Nice and large swimming pool both indoor and outdoor. BUT, the rooms are poorly maintained. Cleaning is of a low grade. I moved from a room with hair in the tub. Dust on hangers. Mold. Reception clerk did his best to accommodate and was very nice but I guess his hands are tied and the low cleaning and maintenance standart isnt up to him.
I dont generally have allergies, but my nose and eyes were having a fit throughout my stay here. My partner experienced the same. The staff that we interacted with were nice and accommodating. The rooms seemed generally clean and I think the staff takes care of it to the extent they can. I think its just an overall old establishment with a small staff, which shows. Couldnt get over the way my allergies acted up any time I came back to the hotel. Dont think its an overall bad hotel, but wouldnt stay here again.
My daughter just wrote a review of this venue and I feel as if I should give my impression of the wedding experience we had.At 6;00 Thursday night was the rehearsal about 15 people gathered in the venue room where the weeding was to be held one of the guests brought a 12 pack of beer with them, of which half were consumed , I bring this up for later reference. the rehearsal went off as planed without incident. afterwords the room was decorated for the next days festivities .. all participants were out of the space by 12 midnightThe afternoon of the wedding was going perfectly the groom had arrived the guests were seated, the brides sister asked the front desk for some more chairs for the venue, more guests arrived then were expected, not many about 15, now mind you the venues capacity is 169 people, clearly noted on the wall. total guest including extra people was about 80. while waiting in a corridor near entrance to the room. the bride, Myself, I was walking her down the isle, and a few bridesmaids were waiting out of site of the guests, tradition, when an employee of the Radisson approached the bride and stated that there would be an extra charge for the additional chairs the bride said fine. the employee then stated that the bride or her husband was responsible for an extra charge for the party she had in the wedding room the night before and that she needed to talk to the man who booked the stay, the bride calmly said her husband was waiting at the alter in the next room and could we take care of this after the ceremony? the employee stated that she needed this signed off on Now! the bride calmly stated she was to be married in a few moments , they were staying there three more nights can we take care of this later employee walked away and came back 2 minutes later with a clipboard and some documents for the bride to sign stating that she had a party in the wedding venue the night before { remember this is all happening while we are waiting for our cue to enter the wedding venue 20 steps away the bride said calmly and I must emphasize no raised voice no hysterics no swearing . that they did Not have a party the night before, the hotel had given them permission to have their rehearsal and they were done decorating by midnight , the employee stated that there was beer brought the the venue the night before, the bride admitted that a guest did bring beer but that there was no party. the employee was pushing the clipboard at the bride who calmly and gently pushed it away and stated they would take care of this after the ceremony. the employee left. the bride began to cry, we all calmed her emphasizing it was her day and all would be taken care of she shouldered up and we went through the ceremony as planed .I did not hear the employee stating she was going to call the police because the bride was irrational but judging by the employees actions I could definitely imagine her saying that. This was the most unprofessional interactions I have witnessed between employee and guest in my life . I can clearly state that this venue should Not be booked for any event that would require communication between staff and guest.Ps.. I failed to mention the entire hotel smells of smoke due to a fire that happened a week before, never mentioned to the wedding party before arrival.
Wonderful hotel, I cannot speak to the restaurant or whatever, due to covid, but room was clean and modern enough. The pool was warm and clean and had a lifeguard. The big win was the front desk which was super accommodating. Had a headache, they had some ibuprofen. We got takeout, and they had no salad dressing, front desk to the rescue, all polite, and easy to deal with. A great experience.
This was our second visit to this Hotel from Savannah ga. This stay was the worst. Felt like we were being punched when we got into our room. Felt like we were in a much cheaper establishment. Little details such as a busted fire alarm hanging freely from the wall. No hotel phone service to contact front desk. Toilet loose every time you would sit or stand up it would slam the wall so hard it sounded like it was going through the wall. And the room had ants and other insects. Actually had to change rooms and Was offered a discount for room. Expected more from an establishment that has the name and reputation associated with this brand. Very disappointed
Looks to be a well maintained property. We arrived at night, with my elderly mother using a walker. Maintenance Man Albert saw the problem and quickly got us a wheelchair, he then took her all the way to our room. If that wasnt enough, my sister and I needed to go get gas before morning, so we saw Albert again, and he gave us directions. He then watched us go right instead of left, we noticed a car beeping its horn, we pulled over, and it was Albert, who then had us follow him to the gas station, then follow him back to the hotel. That was above and beyond...we were stunned, and grateful! Upon our return, Alberts son Aidan helped us up with the rest of our stuff. I am retired now, but I was a Hotel GM for over 25years...I would have been thrilled to have them both as employees!
I had several complaints about our recent visit 4/17. While the staff was extremely nice, our experience in quality of room was severely lacking. When we booked the room, we assumed that being a suite the master bedroom would have a door. Unfortunately, there was no door and absolutely no privacy, given that the sole bathroom was located in the master bedroom. We had to call regarding the linens for the couch bed as it is not documented anywhere in the room that those amenities are located in the television stand. Furthermore, though linens were included, there was not a blanket for that bed, just two small twin size hospital type blankets. The mattress on the couch bed is also heavily stained and quite disgusting.Additionally, the air conditioner in the master bedroom does not work. Sadly this was not realized until 3am and our child was already asleep so we could not switch rooms. We had to open the balcony door to allow air in and the room was still extremely hot and uncomfortable, not to mention the train that passed by seemingly every hour.Though not nearly as important as the other complaints, there were several cosmetic issues as well including: tape on the walls, wallpaper detachment from walls, missing plaster on ceiling, etc. When booking this room, I choose this option over the areas other facilities because the suite was perceived to be much higher quality. Unfortunately, I feel that we would have been better suited to choose a cheaper hotel that could provide amenities that fostered sleep. The price of this room was highly overpriced and we were quite dissatisfied.I reached out to see what we could do because the experience we had was simply unacceptable and never had any reply.Dont waste your money staying here.
If only I could give less than 1 star !! Extremely disappointed! The photos showed complimentary breakfast but they didnt have that. This place is in the middle of no where with no restaurants near by. We brought our own food but the rooms dont have microwave!! The staff are rude and said microwaves are for suites . Like what ?! Thats a super basic amenity you can find even in the cheapest motels! We had to heat our food in the one single small microwave they had in the lobby common for the entire building. Very inconvenient. We checked out at 11 and even at that time the tiny Starbucks located inside the hotel was not open. The phone in the room would not even connect us to the front desk. It keeps going in loop of options like wedding catering, booking etc. Dial 0 for front desk !! That basic feature wasnt available! I had to walk to the lobby if I had to reach the staff only to be turned away for things I asked anyway.
Nice enough. The staff was super nice to us and our pups, loved the balcony at the river, and the room was clean. The only thing was some obvious maintenance issues. Idk if its all floors, but on the 5th, the doors are so skewed that they stick pretty badly in the door frames and at I one point I had to heave my body weight against it to open it. You could hear people doing the same thing throughout the day all through the hall, lol. Id still recommend it, cant beat the location.
And more. Some lights in room didnt work.Electric outlets didnt work.Others there asked for coffee creamer in the rooms. They were told they could go to a local store and purchase their own.Another party asked for additional towels as they had 3 children with them. They were told they could not have extra towels.
DO NOT HAVE YOUR EVENT HERE! My friend had her wedding ceremony at the Radison yesterday. All seemed to be going well. The night before the catering manager let them set up because the room wasnt booked. We had a quick rehearsal and then a couple of us stayed after to set up the Archway. We were out by 11:30pm. No problems.Yesterday right before my friend was about to walk down the aisle, the catering manager aggressively approached her. She was demanding her to sign a paper saying she owed her $400 for being in the room after midnight last night. My friend calmly replied YOU said we could set up. Im staying here for four nights can we handle this later Im about to walk down the aisle. LITERALLY ABOUT TO WALK DOWN THE ISLE! Then the catering manager said to her coworkers if she keeps acting crazy Im calling the cops. NO ONE WAS ACTING CRAZY BUT HER! It was the absolute most classless, non hospitable, ratchet and rude behavior I have ever witnessed! The bride was so upset you could just see her holding back tears well walking down the isle. Why couldnt she approach her later or the next day as they were staying there. While we were sitting before the bride and groom, my niece pointed to the floor and asked me what Is that a pill bug! It was a cockroach. And looking around, there was more than one. How are you going to be dirty and rude? What a shame for a beautiful location.
Like everywhere else, this Hotel is understaffed. None of the amenities are available besides the pool and fitness center. The rooms arent very clean, Expedia advertised the suites as having 2 queens and they were doubles, the wifi is spotty. The Cafe was only open on Sunday of our stay, no complimentary breakfast, no on site dining. It seems like the staff is trying their best. We also had an incident in the parking lot, I would not recommend walking to your car alone at night. When I finally reached someone about the incident that occurred she was helpful. I wouldnt recommend staying here with children. It does have a nice river view though!
The hotel is nice.Tom, at the front desk, was warm and welcoming after an extremely long drive. Although the hotel is visible outdated (popcorn ceilings, outdated decor, etc) it’s clean. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and the view from the balcony is relaxing - wish there were a chair or two on the balcony to really enjoy the view. There were a couple cons:- No complimentary breakfast or restaurant to order food. However, there is a small cafe that serves Starbucks and a couple other items. The two ladies that work in there aren’t the friendliest- There’s an indoor and outdoor pool. The kids really wanted to get in the pool but the water looked thick like slime. As if chemical were repeatedly added to clean the pool instead of draining the pool and cleaning it properly.PS: Rooms aren’t cleaned daily. So after a long day of exploring, we returned to a messy room and unmade beds...just like home 😂 lol. I’m sure it’s due to rona. With all of that being said, I would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s cleans and close to Niagara Falls and other attractions.
Very very very run down hotel with really bad management !! BLACK MOLD and SPIDERS were found in my hotel room. Bathrooms have NO ventilation and smell like a zoo. The hotel staff were made aware of the room conditions and did NOTHING !!!Hot and cold areas though out the hotel. Unpaid contractors arguing with management in the hallways trying to get paid !! From what Ive heard, this hotel owe a lot of area contractors money. Thats most likely why the hotel is sooooo run down. You cant maintain a building if you DONT pay the contractors !!! Please tell this hotel and the hotel manager Charles to pay their contractors, they have families to take care of.I also HATE the general response they give to everyone and still do nothing to fix the problems !!
The rooms were disgusting, there was literal mold growing on the bathroom walls, blood stains on the carpet that looked pretty fresh when i was there. the light in the bathroom flickered and because there was no other availability, i had to stay here. but what annoyed me the most was when i asked if my room can at the very least be cleaned and the staff said that because of covid, they cannot clean my room until i check out which i mean is pretty weird considering that covid would mean that hotels at least keep themselves clean. the lobby was cute however unfortunately, i can’t sleep there otherwise i would’ve. the staff was nice otherwise so i can’t complain about that.
When checking I was told the bar/restaurant was closed so that meant no breakfast for my pregnant daughter. The website never stated that it was closed which was a big factor for us when we were booking the room. Also vending machines were not working properly and the ice machine was broken on my floor. They had a huge indoor pool that closed at 8.30 pm for cleaning?? They should concentrate more on cleaning the rooms cause it was filthy....
Positive: The staff was friendly but seems low on personnel. The large windows over looking the pool was beautiful to walk by on the way to the elevator. Negative: They no longer offer breakfast, the hot tub was closed, the elevator broke on us, outside on the Balcony was covered in dead bugs. I know it¿s summer but it could have been swept.
It was OK because of the nice indoor and outdoor pools and semi-clean rooms. To anyone thinking of staying here, beware of the nasty bathrooms in your rooms, with mildew growing on the walls & more. The vinyl sticker in my room was literally falling apart and tearing off. The fake mini Starbucks in the lobby was great to have, since they replicate the drinks nicely, and it was good to have working AC’s. The doors are something else. They will jam on you and will not open all the time. It’s kind of like a roulette.
Radisson Management needs to eliminate all smoking inside and outside the property. My room smelled like someone smoking. Front entrance has smokers standing right at the front door. Smoke clings to hair and clothing. Disappointed pools and snack bar were not open full time. Smokers could be eating or swimming instead. Front desk staff were very well trained and friendly. Cleaning staff were efficient.
Positive: The pool and views were the best part about this hotel. Negative: Our room was not clean (the blanket was dirty and a nasty tissue was on the floor). Also you could see water damage in the corner of the room. We told the staff but nothing was done. The toliet also stopped working. Ice is also only available on one floor
This place is nice to stay. The rooms are clean. The service personal are friendly and helpful. The reason for only three star is . ..There is no one sight coffee on Monday thu Thursday. No restaurant or barThe dock are not able to be used.Non of this was told to us, but was online that is was all accessible.
Upon arrival I was expecting a beautiful hotel but instead I was greeted with weeds and an in landscaped entrance which is not very pleasant for people coming in on vacation. Although the lobby and hotel is very clean the rooms are very old and need to be updated. White walls have a yellow appearance from smoke, the balcony was full of dead sand flies, birds, broken cement and chipped paint so I couldn’t sit out for fresh air. Had to kill bugs the entire stay and found small dead insects all over the desk where I needed to work. The bathroom sink was plugged so I couldn’t use it and when I went to call the front desk I realized the phone was just a prop because it wasn’t even a phone cord connected. WiFi service is terrible and the television cable didn’t work the entire time of my stay. Out a 3 night booked stay I slept there 1 night …. I’m very disappointed in this hotel and will not stay again
HORRIBLE. DO NOT STAY HERE. Half of the hotel was under construction and closed off. Our phone in the room did not work. Ironing board was literally just a peice of metal and iron was burning my clothes. Air conditioning system smelt burnt when turned on. No extra toilet paper. No hand soap in bathroom. Light around mirror in bathroom was broke. Shower head was coming off the wall. Sheets and pillow case reeked of perfume. Rug under the door was shredded. Way too expensive for a beat up hotel.
This was such a beautiful hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here. Because of Covid we were really hesitant to stay in a hotel but it was really clean and bright, and there was a Starbucks in the hotel so we were able to get that in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay. Theres a fridge and a tv and an ice bucket, theres also a microwave in the lobby. If youre visiting Niagara falls, this hotel is a great place to stay the night.
Great view, cant believe it was so affordable. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, sheets, towels and complimentary toiletries were great. rooms was nice size, front desk lady was very professional. it is an older building but, the lake view and cleanliness make it charming
The Radisson hotel on Grand Island, NY. An ok hotel by the river. Friendly staff, clean rooms, the room decor was fine a bit dated, but functional, beds comfortable, indoor pool was refreshing, location on the Niagara was beautiful with a view of Tonawanda across the river. However, as of August, 2020 with Covid19 rules & restrictions placed by the governor of New York... the following were closed in the hotel; outdoor pool, coffee shop, bar, hotel restaurant, arcade. Non of this was on the website but was in other reviews:-( found a discount online, but I wouldnt pay full price with so many amenities unavailable currently. I understand this is not the hotels fault but it is what it is. Notably, it appears that while the hotel has fire alarms it is not plumbed with any sprinklers that I could see, there were high rise connections in the hallway for the fire department hookup. The outdoor pool which was closed had obviously not been cleaned in a while which detracted from the ambiance a bit, and the indoor sauna was completely off even though the indoor pool was open:-( one must request a microwave from the desk and they are first come first serve. And the continental breakfast looks thrown together by an 8 year old, I mean who has bagels 🥯 without cream cheese?? They did have sliced bread, butter, jellies, and peanut butter, bagels, toast, and juices. In my opinion with everything else closed they should have seriously stepped up the continental breakfast. All this aside we slept fine and enjoyed our trip overall. Be sure to check NY state laws for quarantine rules to avoid an up to 10,000.00$ fine.
We spent 3 days in this hotel..business class roomThe room was stuffy there was hair on the tub- the balcony was dirty the glass at the balcony was so dirty and there were cobwebs everywhere.- The pool outside was dirty, there was ni room service at allllll..to change the sheets.- I traveled with my baby of 11months..the crib was toooo old and so unstable..made of metal on the rail, and so dangerous for an active baby...The duvet was small for the bed and had lumps.Mold in the bathroomNo microwave in the room.Never staying here again..is this a 5 star hotel really? Or 1 star?
I stayed here before and it was really goodHowever now coffee maker is not clean and shower tub was clogged, of course maintenance were very prompt and ready to help. I guess may because of covid it was not upto the mark, so I am taking out one star for those 2 and remaining everything is perect
When my daughter and I checked in, our room was filthy and smelly. The bathroom smelled like urine and there was hair all over the bathtub. After complaining, got moved to a different room, which was equally as filthy and smelly though had a nice view of the river. Empty bottles in the room, food on the floor, stained furniture, broken nightstand, and outlets that do not work.
It was beautiful and everyone was super friendly. We had a river view King room and it had a small balcony but it was big enough to sit out and enjoy the view, especially in the morning during the sunrise. The food was good, not amazing but good. Not enough choices. The bar tenders were really nice and made sure we were taken care of through out our meal and dart playing. The pool was nice but wish it was open a tad bit longer. It closes at 10pm and we got there at 930pm. The room was clean and very spacious. Over all we had a great experience and we will definitely be back in the future.
PROS:The hotel is in a very quiet area, about 15 mins from Niagara Falls, NY. All of the staff that we came in contact with were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the largest rooms (big enough for 10 people), and it was very spacious and was like having the space of 3 or 4 hotels room. Its great for families and was HUGE! There was modern workout equipment in the exercise room. The beds and linens were clean and very comfortable. The indoor pool was great, but was a bit cold. The view of the Niagara River was amazing!!! Huge balcony in the biggest room.CONS:The hotel needs updating and appeared to be lifeless when we arrived. The grass was long. The weeds were thriving. The exterior needs powerwashing and maintenance. The exterior pool was under repair. The tennis court almost unrecognizable. Almost everything was closed, probably because of covid. This place has so much potential and Im sure its REALLY suffering from the covid restrictions. I wish it well because not every place is so quiet, tucked away along a beautiful river. It potentially has 2 pools, massage place, fitness center, arcade, meeting and banquet space, restaurant, and more. I hope it survives, because not everyone is looking for a place near all the tourists in Niagara. Some need quiet add peaceful rest, and that place is the Raddison in Grand Island....
Due to understaffing, there was no breakfast or daily housekeeping. I was on the 5th floor and the bathroom looked a bit old and there were some panelling that looked like it was falling or decaying. The commode is continuesly flowing in water...maybe a lever is loose in the tank. Bed and towels were clean.
First and foremost I do want compliment the two ladies I encountered one one check in and one on checkout. They were both very kind and sweet. Hotel is old. Everything is dated and run down. The breakfast pastries there was bugs flying around. If I was staying more than one night I would have checked out and went elsewhere. Updating after shower. Little bugs on the bathroom floor. This is the balcony view but sitting out there on folding chairs and there are cob webs everywhere . Glad I used Radisson Points because this isn’t worth paying for. Very disappointing
From the one night stay I had in the hotel, I can tell you that its an adequate hotel. Free water in the lobby, good shower, and good air conditioning. The air conditioning unit wasnt a thermostat though, it was one of those big units in the corner of the room. Speaking of the room, it seemed like it needed renovation. The carpets looked old and the bathroom wasnt in the best shape. However, it wasnt all bad. The view from the balcony was stunning. And they had a pool and fitness center. The lobby looked very fancy, and although I cant say much about the service, it was good for what it was. Overall, an acceptable hotel but its room appearance is a bit too crusty.
A cozy place. The view of the lake from the room is amazing. You can watch the sunrise from your balcony. A best place for a vacation stay. Very friendly service people. The swimming pool is and the play areas are maintained so clean and have fixed times. Are not open round the clock.
We loved our stay at the Radisson hotel on Grand Island. We had a nice room with a river view. Staff was friendly and helpful with local suggestions. I would have gave 5 stars, however there were two minor issues. One being on walking from the parking lot to the entrance, there was some trash on the grounds scattered, it was there the four days we stayed. Normally we would have pitched in and picked it up ourselves, but with everything going on right now with COVID we try to limit ourselves. The second small issue was in the room. One of the lamps on the table, the shade was stained pretty bad on one side, not a big deal, it’s just very noticeable and a eye sore. The shade could be taken off and turned around and it wouldn’t even be noticed. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay!
This hotel and the people were absolutely amazing. Randy the night guy was so nice and so helpful. Kenya the morning front desk person was also super nice, it’s just nice to see smiling faces and happy people during such a sad time in history. The view is also absolutely gorgeous! We will be staying here again! They also have balconies you can stand and watch the river! But you can’t smoke from them!Only thing is right now during quarantine they have the restaurant, bar, pools and most of breakfast closed for the COVID. But we still had a very nice time!I truly wish we could have seen what the whole hotel looks like all open! Guess we’ll have to come back to see!
The Radisson grand Island is a beautiful hidden gem, located beside the water on a secluded island. Rooms were clean comfortable and newly renovated. Every room has a fridge and a microwave is available in the lobby. Many great amenities such as a games room, sauna and a well equipped gym. They also have huge pools indoor and outdoor along with a kids pool and Hot tub, all nicely heated. I can truly recommend the hotel to anyone and I look forward to staying here again.
Have to start with by saying that I received the best service from the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, during my stay and after I left. The price of the room, the cleanliness of the hotel and room were just great! I was very impressed!I had a minor issue and the Assistant GM and another young lady that works there were very patient in helping me trying to resolve an interesting issue and it was resolved! When I asked for things, it was at my door within no time. I was very impressed! I recommend. It was very clean and a very welcoming feeling to the hotel. It was very accessible to everything. Great location!Thank you to the staff for their hospitality... from the Assistant GM, to the Revenue/Reservations Manager and the Guest services agents. The hotel was very nice, clean, and easy to find. The room I reserved was the room I got. Our falls view was beautiful from Room 440. The staff was very helpful- even when I was on the phone with my credit card telling them it was really me in Canada . They did charge for parking -$25/night and the taxes on the room were outrageous. Those were both extras that I was not expecting. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel.
I wouldn’t stay here again ever. My wife and I ended up leaving a day and a half earlier than anticipated in the middle of the night non the less because someone was going around beating on doors and there were kids and babies screaming. The hotel room was filthy. We tried calling down to the lobby no response when we went to check out no one could be found. Worst hotel experience ever.
Decent economical hotel. Beautiful view of the lake. Had 2 swimming pools, outdoor and indoor. Well equipped gym. Reached early in the day but the staff were very strict About the check-in time, 3 pm. No beverages were available till 5 pm. Didnt go for dinner or breakfast so cant comment on the food. The lobby toilet needs repair. Overall a just satisfactory experience.
Rooms were nice, American staff were excellent! House keeping not so much.. woke up to relentless knocking at the door... it was 830..Pool area closed at 9... guess was good thing... sign on door said 10 dollars a person to use... breakfast buffet consists of Luke warm bacon, eggs sausage , cereal and waffles you cook... not worth the 12 bucks....But view was nice..
Location is nice. The room is kinda big. The staff fairly polite. That is about it. I have stayed at road side motels with nicer bathrooms. The toilet runs every 3 minutes. The door access system is super janky and I had to have the key cards done 3 times and still had to have someone from the front to help us in, cause they didnt wanna give another room up. Maintenance was promised to come by and fix the door and is currently 1 am. So guess that will not happen.
Fantastic hotel, stayed for a night. Location was good at Grand island, very close to River.I particularly enjoyed their swimming pool and hot tub. Service team was fantastic and the rooms were very clean and well maintained.Overall, the experience was awesome right from the entrance, all the way to the room. The decorations and fireplace were fantastic too. Would highly recommend it.
Didnt even stay there a whole 12 hours. I was awoken at 2 am with the couple next door (who have a connecting door to our room) slamming drawers and yelling at each other. I booked to stay there 2 nights, but I did not feel safe being alone with me and 3 young kids. I packed up our things and told the lady at the front desk what was happening next door to our rooms and we were checking out. I know I wont be getting a refund for the 2nd night, but I am somewhere else safe.Plus side, beds really comfy and beautiful view.
Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet, well if it were free I would not be critical. For 14 bucks, much to be desired. The two young men working were very professional and on their job. The hotel is dated. My 7 year old not happy with the lack of working games nor working changer or quarters available for games that did work. Not in town to hang out in hotel so not a biggie.
So I was charged $50 more then I was told, called right after check out they said it was a deposit and will go back in a couple days. It has been two weeks since my stay this Friday and still no deposit. When I call no one answers, called for days now. Called the 800 number for Radisson and they get they same thing when they call this hotel, no answer. Now it is to the general manager of the hotel. Not good how are you suppose to get business if you don’t answer your phone? DONT STAY HERE
The room view was spectacular the staff were very nice and overall had a wonderful stay again. No problems with my service 🐕. Their pool area was clean and life guard on duty and a sauna. The only negative is the area during winter has nothing to do. The restaurant is closed during the week. So food is a little out of the way but possible.
Stayed here for only one night, as we really wanted to catch up with the night buzz at the Clifton hill. It wasnt close to Clifton but very close to the lift (falls view) that took us straight to the falls (after taking the ticket of 2.5 dollar per person). It looked more like a no frill hotel. The good thing there was a microwave in the room and an ice dispenser on almost all the floors. They dont have an in house restaurant, so we had a little trouble in ordering some basic things. It was a comfortable night though.
The hotel is a little bit old and lots of bugs flying outside. Outdoor pool was closed while we was there. The beds and pillows are comfortable though with an extra sofa bed. Shower room and toilet are clean. They have an indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Overall, the place was not bad and its not that far of a drive to the falls.
The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the beds are ok. As soon as I arrived I had to request housekeeping to come and vacuum my room, dust from several months on the edges of the furniture. Bathrooms with mold present on the hot tub and the sink. Personal are not welcoming neither professional. Bad management. Breakfast so expensive for the food that is being offered. I do not recommend to stay there. The location is great but the management is not.
This hotel is an old one. The only good thing about our room was that it came with a river view. The doors didnt function properly ( both bathroom and entrance). The fixtures were broken. There was a beautiful patio with no chairs. The service staff was rude ( I took a coffee sachet from their cart and they asked me not to, that too rudely. There were no glasses in the room. No coffee or water in the hotel lobby. Overall, it wasnt a Radisson experience.
Very outdated! old dirty bathrooms, balcony dirty with a lot of bugs (mosquitoes, flies) outside pool looks disgusting. would not recommend needs upgrades bad! we just wanted a view on the water but couldn’t enjoy because they control the balcony light and stays on all night and attracts bugs. o yea no microwaves in the room they have one or few they give out but it’s super limited. you have to use microwave in the lobby which is super small and outdated!
If I had a choice between sleeping in my vehicle or the Radisson, Id choose my vehicle. I called central booking to reserve my rooms I was promised connecting suites. Come check in time I was told all suites were booked and we had to stay in regular tiny rooms. I find it funny because I over heard a man at check in tell the front desk he didnt reserve a suite. On to the room, they were dirty the toilet was extremely loose, it felt like it was going to fall over. The doors to the rooms are tight and hard to open and to close the securely you have to slam them. I know Im not the only person to have this problem because I walked the hotel and some door were still ajar. This definitely presents a security issue. The only good things I can stay about this place is Monica. She was extremely helpful and pleasant. I will never stay at another Radisson hotel again. To be honest Ive stay at nicer motels for a fraction of the price. Huge let down.
The hotel is older and needs updates, not terrible, but certainly could use a facelift. Elevator was fairly quick but they are limited. Outside access door didnt shut properly and was always open so anyone could enter without their key card. Room was fairly clean, there was a little bit of a question as to weather the bathtub had been thoroughly cleaned, some hair remained on the sides of the tub. The rest of the room was very clean and the bed was really really comfortable. No free breakfast, the restaurant attached has a buffet for $14 a person, so we did not partake. The indoor and outdoor pools looked well kept and clean. Parking is free and easy, and the wifi is complementary. When we arrived our key cards didnt work but that was quickly rectified and the staff was helpful and very nice. Would recommend for a family trip or budget stay as it was a great hotel for the price, but dont expect something too fancy.
There are renovations going on at this hotel - but the property is overall still way below Radisson standard and should be closed for a long due overhaul before using the Radisson name.Management need to have attention on staff hospitality and consistency; front desk inattentive, breakfast restaurant was unattended when we came and a girl vacuuming let us in; house keeping didnt remove dirty glassware nor replenished coffee, bottled water and bathroom amenities.Other observations: parking lot has huge pot holes, the outside building and surrounding areas look dirty and not well kept. None of the staff seems to wear uniforms but rather their own clothes. We twice complained to front desk about people smoking next to our balcony, but nothing happened. The pool area and changing rooms need serious cleaning. There was a microwave in our room but not an outlet to connect it to. Only power outlets at the desk in the room, nothing near the bed for mobile charging etc. The room had an old and extremely noisy AC unit. Great balcony with view of the lake, but no chairs. The breakfast buffet looked extremely dull at 8:30am, like the food had been out for hours.
Awesome experience! Staff was top notch. Monica at breakfast was the best. Our bill was not correct when leaving. The lady who was at the desk every day spent nearly half an hour fixing it. Room was very clean and spacious. Its a really big place. Set up for conventions.
I would not recommend staying in this hotel. Only giving it a two star because of a couple employees who helped us with things we needed. Monica & Robby were great! We checked in, got to our rooms & they were way smaller than expected. We ordered a suite through central registration & these were not the suites. We immediately went to talk to the man at the front desk & were told they were all booked. All downhill from there. Toilet was broken & felt like we were gonna fall through the floor, wrappers still left over from the previous stay, very gloomy & dark in the rooms & just a very upsetting stay. I hear this is independently owned & if I was Radisson, I would not want them using my name..
We were there for 4 days. When we got to our room it appeared the sheets had not been changed. There were several small drops of blood and I could tell by the corners that they were not fresh sheets.! Although the balcony view was awesome the balcony itself was really dirty. Cobwebs all over the railing and there was only 1 old dirty white plastic chair.it would have been so nice to have 2 chairs and a small table to sit outside and really enjoy the view. We realize it is a work in progress, and there were signs that things were getting upgraded but things like the filthy windows in the breakfast area, not to mention the flies all over the fruit and the buildup of burnt batter on the waffle maker was such a turnoff that each time we tried to eat there we ended up walking out. And also the employee proceeded to spray cleaner on the table right behind me the first morning. I had to ask her to please not do that as the chemicals really bother me. The breakfast definitely needs some work. Please clean the windows! Also, sitting at the bar the first night there was a strong sewage smell coming from behind the bar. We couldnt even sit there to finish our drinks. Other than cleanliness being the main problem and realizing its an old building we did enjoy our stay. The outside pool was nice as was the fitness room. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Just dont expect top notch and you will like this hotel.
I have stayed here in the past, when it was under different ownership, and it was wonderful. A perfect family oriented hotel with great pools and a fantastic location. Things were much different this time! My impression from the moment we pulled into the parking lot was that it is in severe need of maintenance work. Weeds were all over the asphalt in the parking lot, and numerous old mattresses were piled up on the side in plain sight. The paint on the hotel was so discolored by dirt, that it was hard to see what the true color was. During our 7 night stay, we had several problems. Our room door didnt open from the outside most times because it was hanging crooked from the jam and would get caught up on the frame. The interior door in our room had paint peeling off in huge chunks. We had a beautiful river view room, but unfortunately the main view we saw was the top of the dirty roof below that had trash and an old comforter thrown on it. In most hotels, if theres a balcony, there are chairs on them for the guests to sit and enjoy the view. Not here! When we asked for chairs, we were given 2 fold-up chairs. And I guess hotel management thinks we should keep the sliding glass door closed to enjoy the river view because there is no screen! So when we did open the sliding glass door, we had flies coming in that we had to deal with in the room for our entire stay. We had an issue with the toilet backing up and ran over onto the floor, which was dripping into the hotels office downstairs. The maintenance man came immediately and was very professional and nice. They need to hire about 100 more of him to get this hotel back in sanitary and presentable condition. It is in such disrepair that everywhere you look, you see peeling paint, cracked tiles, dirt, stained or missing ceiling tiles and encounter a nasty musty smell. I have to say that the staff tried to be very accommodating and were receptive to our concerns each time wed complain, but I think they are having to try appeasing unhappy guests as part of their daily job. I have nothing but praise for the housekeeping and hotel staff, as they definately tried their hardest to do above and beyond with the conditions of this hotel. We saw many bus loads of tourists come in for short stays, probably en route to Niagara Falls, so this is likely how this hotel is staying afloat. I cant imagine they will get many repeat travelers who frequent Grand Island. I have stayed at numerous Radisson Hotels, and this one is the worst representation of the Radisson name. Radisson corporate should make a visit here to see just how bad it is. I would expect better out of a Motel 6. I will not stay here again unless they undergo a major clean up. Radisson should be ashamed.
Hotel room seemed clean, could pay more attention to detail like the dust that builds up on the toilet paper holder. Did not get a chance to check out the restaurant or the pool. Approached one morning to look at breakfast options and chose not to opt in to the measly looking $15 buffet. Parking lot wasnt plowed during several inches of snow accumulation. Could hear some noise from neighboring rooms at times. Overall, not bas for the value offered during winter time.
For just a couple of bucks for adults they let non guests use the pool. Its a cold winter up here and we took the kids swimming for a fun thing to do. Everything was great, pool was clean. Pool is big. Goes from 3ft to 9ft and they have a small 1.5 ft section separate for kids. Also have a hot tub. Would definitely do it again.
Gorgeous location but the hotel itself could use a huge update. From the slamming doors, to the gross carpet. Dont even get me started on the staff at the restaurant. I watched as the waitress mistreated the foreigners in the dining hall. She couldnt be bothered to explain how the buffet works. The maids were awesome though. Oh and we heard its haunted.
Well I need to make an amendment to my original review below.. . I booked on my credit card and when I arrived, I paid cash. The young lady gave me my receipt any my key card. Off I went to our room and swimming. Enjoyed our stay as listed below. However, when I got home, I noticed my credit card was charged for the room, meaning I have now paid twice! I notified the hotel and customer service. I had a file opened and I was asked to send them a scanned image of the receipt. Which I did, but to my dismay, the receipt showed that I paid with credit card, not cash. I urged them to review the surveillance cameras, however....my file was closed after numerous phone calls, emails and attempts to reach Steve, the General Manager, and I am out over 150 bucks!!!! Bu the way Radisson, I am NOT a liar, I think the front desk clerk pocketed the money! (I am extremely disappointed)Comfy beds and pillows and a huge pool indoors and another large one outdoors!!! Love that it had a balcony too!!!
Great location. Beautiful views of the river. Desk Staff could have been friendlier but restaurant staff was nice. Food was good. Hotel is Going through lots of upgrades but the work did not disturb or inconvenience us.The Island is low key but has an amusement park and state park with a golf course and beach on the Niagara river. The hotel is 15 minutes to downtown Buffalo in one direction and Niagara Falls in the other.
We went to use the pool area. cost was 10 for adults and 5 for kids. sauna is great. hot tub was broken and I dont believe the heater in the pool was working right as it was much colder than previous visit. Would have been nice to know upfront. Otherwise our visit was nice staff is friendly
Very nice hotel. Some say its haunted but we couldnt find the ghost on the hallways. PERHAPS, its in the water pipes. Every time my wife would poop the toilet would make a really loud noice, telling the whole floor that she was done pooping (flushing). Other than that, would stay again.
Nice clean room, courteous staff...totally worth the groupon and even without I would stay again. Great huge heated pool, and nice dry sauna. My only complaints: the tiny hot tub was out of order, there was a hotel birthday party for a handful of boys( although I must say they were pretty well behaved for the most part) (hopefully these are a dying trend), and we did not see the legendary ghost, Tanya. Otherwise very nice stay in great accomodations.
Was at a Wedding reception early in October. We were disappointed with the way the food was served. After salads, it was a good half hour before the main course was served. Then when cleaning the tables, they never lowered the lights for the evening dances, etc. Adding insult to injury, the three tier cake was never cut for people to take home, after dessert was served. We stayed overnight, our room was very clean. The staff was very accommodating otherwise. The Wedding Couple was Very happy with everything, though, And thats all that mattered.
Nice place, friendly staff. Outdoor pool was full of trash and feathers and when we get out of the indoor pool we realized the water smelled nasty and we all smelled like a foot. My bathing suit smelled so bad the next day I had to keep it away from my other clothes.
The room was clean and mostly quiet. The bar staff were unprofessional, the food was not worth ordering, some was burnt. Breakfast was a whole other story. The cereal was old, the milk has a strange taste and the buffet was unappetizing to look over. This is not a location that I would choose to stay at again. Definitely not representative of the Radisson.
The hotel is okay. The rooms seem to have been updated a bit. However our toilet wouldn’t flush. We contacted the front desk, they said they would send someone up. 30 minutes later we’re still waiting for someone to come up. We called and asked how much longer considering it’s midnight. They told us the person is busy and they don’t know. So I guess we don’t get to use the restroom? Completely unacceptable!
The hotel was a nice place to stay while trying to be near the falls, but also save some money. Its a short drive away from the falls so you dont have to worry about making a trip just from your hotel. We had a river view which was very nice and made it more attractive to us. The breakfast buffet was well stocked. We would definitely stay again.
Spent one night here as a little family staycation which we tend to do a few times a year at new hotels but this one is one we will definitely be returning to! The arcade was fun and suitable for both my 5 and 1.5 year old and even games that are play till you win! We didnt have a chance to check out the restuarant or bar but love that they had those options! Very nice (WNYs largest) hotel pool that was very accommodating even with about 15 other kids there for a party! Absolutely love that they have a separate kids pool! Pool was warm and hot tub was very hot...and the sauna was an awesome added touch that most places dont have. The gym was huge and clean which is rare in hotels. The room was big including a big bathroom, fridge with waters and a breath taking view of the river! My daughters loved the balcony! The hotel also has meeting rooms & a banquet hall that will definitely be considered for my wedding! The gazebo outside would be a perfect place to wed☺ cant wait to return when its warmer to enjoy this hotel again and to experience the outdoor pool!
Stay at this place with my sisters. My room was 143 while her is 142.Their rooms had a refrigerator while mine is not. The bathub plug is missing. Amenities was good, views and pool is also good, location is ok. Get complimentary breakfast, so we get up early to get some breakfast at 6.15am, but unfortunately the restaurant is still close. We skip the breakfast because we had to go at 7.00am.
Its a huge hotel that has several indoor pools plus the view of the lake was wonderful. Its kinda dated and some in house furnitures are broken. The door to balcony has no lock. Left us feeling uncomfortable and unsafe thru the night. All else worked for us though. Appreciated the complimentary bottled water.
Updated hotel and rooms. Better than I expected after reading reviews.! Comfy bed. Clean! Hot tub and dry sauna are great!! Bathroom is clean but looks a bit outdated because of the chosen tub, surround and sink. Had turns 6th floor river room and the view was amazing!!
First off, I stay in hotels ALOT because of my career, so Im accustomed to what to expect from Radisson hotels as I like to stay there when possible, im a platinum member here. The room was very nice, great view on the fourth floor. However was trying to use my upgrade to a king hospitality suit and the room I was given was a 2 full size beds in a room about half the size. However he did give our old room back along with vouchers to theyre breakfast. Only problem was our breakfast was never served. After 25 minutes of waiting and people behind us getting served, I confronted the waiter and our food never got put in. So we ended up waisting time and going somewhere else.Hotel seems to give comps freely when making a mistake, but I think mistakes are made too often so comps dont always make up for them.My general impression of this particular hotel is that if you dont need to work with the staff very much you would probably have a more enjoyable stay.
I cant give any stars. This place was absolutely horrible rented two rooms for new years eve. Well one room, you couldnt lock. Unless you was inside. So told front desk. His exact words was, it locks when your in side.Stated, what about all our valuables when we are swimming and in the game room? He said, what do you want me to do, it locks when your in it.So we pretty much paid for 2 rooms. Used one.
I went on new years eve 2016 and did not like my experience at all. First I arrived late in the evening and a party was going on. I waited at the front desk with no one there to check me in for at least 15 minutes before someone showed up and off the bat had a very bad attitude . She had been in the back with the party I believe. I booked two rooms and there was a bit of a problem but instead of being calm about the situation the clerk immediately started getting loud with me even though I was not being rude. Customer service is everything with me. I have been to this hotel once before and did not have this experience but this time I wont return. Called downstairs because our toilet wouldnt flush but no one answered the phone. I thought this was a nice hotel because of its location but that is all. Radisson is a very nice hotel where I live in rochester.
Where do I start? When we tried to check in, there was no night attendant, I had to wander around for 15 minutes to find anyone. Then, the heater turned out to be one of those that rattles the whole room.It was the worst place we stayed for our whole trip.I thought Radisson was supposed to be a top quality establishment; we enjoyed our stay at far less expensive places, and we could actually sleep because the heater wasnt turning on and off all night, keeping us awake. The place was showing its age. Although the lobby looked nice, the outside is run down, the concrete is looking sad, I already mentioned the room; we were exhausted the next day since we couldnt sleep from the sound of the furnace. When it kicked on, it startled us making sleep almost impossible. I even asked for the maintenance personnel to take a look, but that did no good.I wish there was a zero stars option.Pretty disappointed in Radisson.
Our first room they checked us into was horrific. Stains on sheets, bedskirt. Holes is curtains. Gross and run down. Complained and got upgraded. Miguel at front desk was awesome. Upgraded to a suite was cleaner but still not what youd expect from the looks of front lobby. They are remodeling so hoping that takes this hotel from 2 stars to 5. Check room first before staying. 😊
Signs say the hotel is under construction but none was seen. Our room was in terrible shape (some outlets didnt work, phone didnt work, the bathroom light flickered the endure time it was on, the toilet didnt flush most of the time, the shower was filled with mildew, wall paper was peeling up, etc.) The hotel description said they provide bottled water but there was none. Not that it was the hotels fault but the amount of flying bugs outside was extreme. We hated opening the patio door to let our dogs out because they were everywhere. We wondered why the hotel hadnt sprayed or done anything to cut back on the number of bugs (they were in huge swarms). However, all that being said, they initially had us booked in a room on the fifth floor because we wanted a fridge in our room but because we had dogs they moved us to a 1st floor room and brought a refrigerator to our room. Also, when we requested extra pillows and the microwave be removed from our room they quickly responded.
My daughter and I went to use the pool, hot tub and sauna. Its close to home and usually isnt crowded. I love that theres a sectioned off area that is really shallow for little ones. There are several lanes roped off for laps in the deeper end. The sauna seemed broken and wasnt really warming up much. The entire locker room smelled like pee and the drying machine we have grown to love has been taken out. I thought there was no life guard half the time because she was sitting at one of the tables off to the side with the other familes and in regular clothes. The cleanliness of everything seems to have gone down since the last time we have been.
Very very run down hotel !! Bathrooms have no ventilation and smell very bad.Hot and cold areas though out the hotel.Unpaid contractors arguing with management in the hallways trying to get paid !!From what Ive heard, this hotel owe a lot of area contractors money.Thats most likely why the hotel is sooooo run down. You cant maintain a building if you DONT pay the contractors !!!Please tell this hotel and the hotel manager Charles to pay their contractors, they have families to take care of also.
I took my kids here on a holiday trip to the area. We drove 45 min out of the way to stay in this hotel because of the pool. When we got there the pool was freezing, the local people told us the heater has been broken for weeks so kids could not swim. The room I booked was advertised as a room with a river view but really it was a view of a roof top. The hallways had buckets collecting the water leaking from the ceiling. I tried speaking to the manager but Everytime I went to the desk he was not in the building. I have been calling manager 1-2x a week since I left leaving voicemail but he still has not returned my calls. I would stay clear of this dump and would never go back
Very strange hotel. No fridges, no bulbs in fixtures. Card reader on the entrance door doesnt work and four holes on entrance door so anyone can peak into your room. One ice maker on second floor for entire hotel of five floors (broken). Two washing machine on entire hotel. Personnel doesnt pick up the phone when you call them. Hotel totally understaffed, and employees working under great pressure. Under all circumstances you cant expect customer service to be on any satisfactory level. Beautiful hotel location, however owner(s) totally neglected it.
Five out of five, would stay again. The room was beautiful with a sweet view of the Niagara River from our balcony. Friendly staff, the restaurant called Currents had great drinks and pretty good food. The bed was comfy and soft, plenty of pillows and overall was just a great stay.
Went here with my family. And first, we were greeted nicely. The people were helpful. Then, as a premium member, asked for upgrade, and they did, so we took all of our things to another room. ( A master king suite) needless to say, this was a double queen, smaller than the first... So they tried to downgrade us. Took our belongings and family back to you he first room. And frustrated, unpacked and went to their lounge area. Ordered a Cosmo and Moscow, the lady, needed bigger clothes, and some tougher skin... She was rude to my party because of another party she was serving. And started looking up the drinks on her phone.... I mean, what good bartender doesnt know how to make a very common martini?Anyways, the view was great! The kids liked the HUGE space of extra room... But, I would not want to come here again. The best part? We ordered fruit and a waffle for breakfast, people who came in behind us were served before us, 20-30 mins into waiting. We ask the waiter, he says they forgot to make our food... Yeah... So I went to Starbucks and got a muffin instead...So, if your not planning on talking to the staff, or ordering food, or needing room service, this may be a great place for you. But for this high maintenance family, I guess it definitely stood out to us to find somewhere worthwhile. While the staff was cheerful and high spirits, the one good thing I can say, we did call for an extra blanket, and they did bring it.. (oh and did I mention, you have to use brute strength to open the door)?Rooms were fairly ok. Not the best, but definitely not the worst. We didnt visit the pool is amenities while we were there, so I could not comment on those.
The food was cold, lack of food they will take long for the food to come out. The room was okay, but the moment you open the door to go to the balcony there are flys and bugs and spiders on the window glass and a lot of bugs in the sealing. If you dont close the door quick the bugs will go inside and stay in the sealing of the room. Also if the door key is not working you pull the door and try again. I recommend to go to another hotel.
While the staff were friendly and very apologetic about the problems, the rooms are not the best, door mechanism wonky at best and the doors all slam shut making entry and exit impossible to be quiet (everyone on the floor heres you coming and going), the room carpet is old and an allergen factory I woke up every morning congested even with reactin. We had no hot water in the morning 2 of 3 days and for me a clean room and hot water is mandatory.Hotel has lots of potential and some nice things but they need to fix the electrical and the hot water at minimum and the rooms need to be renovated and fixed up to be worth the price. Its on a nice piece of property by the water and could be a nice romantic getaway place but it needs some serious TLC.I would stay clear until the problems are fixed.
Beautiful hotel. Services include indoor as well as outdoor pool, huge gym, deck, restaurant etc. You can see the view of Niagara River from the hotel rooms. The rooms are big and family friendly. They provide coffee maker, TV, hair dryer, iron and a mini fridge in the room however they do not provide microwave. Overall we had an amazing stay.
Hotel has a bad access system. The key card access to the door does not work until after several attempts or by chance of luckHotel on one side has a good view of the river but on the other it is blocked completely. If you open the patio door, you will see a dead end wall. Why did you even give a patio door then ?Bathroom does not have a shower curtain.
I check in at the hotel on 3rd of july 2019 room 561. When I arrived I open a/c. I wait around 2 hrs. The a/c is very loudly and loudly and in the room is still hot including this room cannot close the door from outside. I call to lobby for change the room. I wait around 10 min. After that, the officer give me the new key card for the new room (he not apologize). I move my bag to the new room however I cannot open the door. I must move my bag to lobby again. The staff give me the new key card to open the door.In my opinion, staff dont have service mind and not professional to solve the problem.
The hotel need to maintain and upkeep its facilities. We have heater in the room that wasnt working even after the hotel engineer tried to fix it and by the look of their faces this is known issues, that in the end had to use the hair dryer to heat up the room.Toilet didnt flush properly. Our fellow tour member was locked in the bathroom for 20 min because the door was jammed, and had to call the hotel folks to kick down the bathroom door! What a nightmare....
Had a very bad experience with the rooms at the hotel. We had booked two rooms with the hotel and noticed a number of issues:1. The elevators are very ambiguously labeled. It took us multiple elevator trips for about a half hour before we could figure out where the rooms were.2. One of the rooms had the door ajar and had to be pushed very hard to open or close.3. The bathroom doors were also in a bad condition. It was impossible for the doors to be opened from the inside once closed.4. There was no shampoo in the shampoo bottles.5. The tv did not work in one of the rooms.6. The toilet did not flush in one of the rooms making it unusable. The hotel management really needs to look into these issues as these issues cause a lot of problems when a tired customer checks in to the hotel late at night.
Worst guest service & the receptionist who was on duty on July 4th 2021. He couldn’t find the booking which was done on their third party site & they never intended to help instead saying that they are not responsible for the booking & to contact the third party site. We waited for 2hrs & he did nothing. The booking was done on June 22nd for July 4th 2021. We almost traveled 450miles to the hotel & the receptionist did not wish to help out in any means. I have ever seen such worst hotel service so for.
Usually people reserve the review section to just complain, but every so often you have an experience that just surpasses expectations, and you have to Rave! The entire staff here is dedicated to making the stay as easy and comfortable as possible! They couldn’t have been MORE accommodating, throughout my entire stay, No matter which employee ,time of day, or random request! Kenya, as well as an overnight desk gentleman, were more kind and generous than anyone could even ask for! And don’t you dare leave without visiting April and Monica in the bar! After hearing about a negative experience in a past stay, despite it having been months, they made it right ! Monica was not only helpful at the bar for a very happy happy hour, but to my pleasure also served us for breakfast the next day with the same kindness and attentive service ! Pampering yourself here is effortless. FIVE STARS, and I WILL be staying here again for any future Buffalo area adventures, you’d be a fool not to !!!
Stayed here for one night July 19th. Do not be fooled by some of the pleasant images online. Do your research and find the ones of the place falling apart, b/c that’s what you’ll encounter. The bathroom/shower is dated. Room was dirty and smelly. There were hundreds of dead bugs inside the glass ceiling light fixture, inside the room! On the balcony light I get. Inside, why? This was indicative of the entire building. If I had been paying a lot less it may have been more tolerable. But even at the rate I paid of $150 CDN / $105 US I feel as though I was ripped off. Only good thing was the front desk staff on check in, very friendly and efficient.
Checked in today for a 2 night birthday celebration. View is awesome hotel is s..t carpets are grubby and glasses in room needed a clean before we used them. As for the restaurent with a fab view that was open till 9pm but was setting up for breakfast when we arrived at 8.10pm - then offered bar menus great burger option but there was an issue with this.......... how can an American hotel not have any fries at all !!!! Ruined my night and birthday.
Staff was rude, And very slow. check in is at 3pm. Arrived at 4:12 and they were cleaning the room until 4:58 when we went and asked and finally got let in. Get to the room and it is wayyyy outdated. And not very clean especially considering the time it took to clean it our bed had 2 clean sheets, however the blanket has blood stains all over it. Couldnt stand to stay a second night. Desk staff was polite this time and refunded our second night and we left.
Best part about this place is the view of the river. Had a horrible breakfast so bad that we pretty much paid to have an empty stomach and an upset stomach which ruined our trip. The previous night we went to the bar downstairs and the bartender was brand new with no training. We had one ok drink then left. The roof leaks everywhere and the building is very run down. Our water was turned off temporarily which was frustrating. We couldnt stop sneezing from the dust or whatever is in the air inside of that building. There is not a mini fridge which is inconvenient. We will not stay there again or recommend this hotel to anyone. Youre better off paying the extra cash for a hotel in Niagara.
Seriously a 1 star place. So, so, so disappointed. We found an empty cup under the night stand, pubes in the shower, and the windows clearly have not been cleaned in months. This seems to be an older place that a remodel was attempted. I have no idea where they found the crew to do the remodel, but I dont think they should be allowed to build chicken coops. It is honestly some of the sloppiness work I have ever, ever seen. Terrible. Im no contractor, but have built my own house and remodeled several others and I would be ASHAMED to put my name on the work I saw at this place. Spend 10 or 20 bucks extra and go somewhere else.
This hotel had an amazing view of the river, especially in the dining area. The rooms were very clean when we arrived. The lampstand had many outlets for charging phones and other devices. The hotel did provide a fee services that I took notice, including the large pool, fitness center, and an outdoor yoga class. You can take a walk along the river if you wanted to do so. The little pier had some freshwater carps and I think I saw a decent size smallmouth there also. Yes, I did fish there for a bit. Also, fly a drone there! It has some nice views.

2021-12-26We had a very peaceful wonderful Christmas trip ever at this hotel. It was quiet which was perfect. Very spacious free parking, room with river view and balcony(I chose this room but didn’t expect it was so nice on top floor!!) and pet fee was reasonable($25 per night, it’s nothing compare to many places). I recommend this hotel who are traveling with your family member pet and want to visit Niagara Falls. It is only 20 min. drive and it is easy road. Thank you for the hotel staff who made our Christmas a great memory at your hotel.

2022-01-17I read reviews prior to staying at the Radisson Hotel Niagara Falls on Grand Island and was very anxious about my stay due to the negative reviews. We stayed one night on a Saturday into Sunday and had the king room with a view of niagara river! Check in was very easy, the staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful, I had read reviews stating that the staff was unfriendly however, this was not the case at all. Due to the pandemic the restaurant and cafe were closed, however that was not a problem, there are tons of awesome restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, etc on grand island! The room was clean and I felt very comfortable! (this was my biggest concern due to negative reviews and that this was my first time staying at a hotel since the pandemic) Again, we only stayed one night. However, I was very happy with our stay, the staff, the price and the room! I would recommend to anyone looking to stay a weekend in Niagara falls!

2022-05-20The actual room was pretty nice. Other than the toilet constantly running and me constantly having to fix it. The front desk does not ever answer the phone so dont bother calling them. You will find the heavy set manager lady outside chain smoking blowing smoke all over the place Right out front of the hotel. This Lady also has a very smart nasty attitude and I certainly would not want her representing any business that I owned. If it wasnt for her I could probably give a four star

2022-03-28The rooms are clean and modern. The beds were well made and very firmly tucked. There were plenty of lounging areas, one with a fireplace with an actual fire. Near that there was a large glass viewing area to watch the swimming pool. The pool was well maintained. I could see an outdoor swimming pool just beyond for the warmer months.

2022-05-17We enjoyed our stay at this place for 2 nights. Everything was perfect, the location, ambience of the hotel and the room was excellent. The receptionists were very welcoming and the check-in was quick. Would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Niagara falls ,as it is only 20 minutes from the hotel.

2022-02-20Older hotel..appears to be in stages of remodel, but our room needs a new tub, toilet and flooring. Parking lot is terrible..and the sidewalks and lot are covered in snow. I mean, doesnt it snow like 8 months out of the year here? Plow the damn lot and shovel the sidewalks! The main room is ok, the fridge is too small..no microwave(really Radisson?) carpet needs replaced and room could use painted. We didnt pick this hotel, we were placed here for a hockey tournament. I feel there are other hotels nearby with fully renovated, modern rooms and facilities for less money. The pool is open til 8pm, no hot tub, no cafe, no restaurant or bar (told due to covid) but the mandates were lifted in NY last week. There really isnt anything close by to do and the main choices for food delivery are pizza, which was pretty lackluster and expensive for what it was.

2022-06-16Positive: The bed was great. The hotel was really nice. Great, great, great location. The staff was AMAZING. Negative: The hotel was an older one and kinda falling apart. But still nice. No breakfast, pool closed at 830 pm

2022-02-05I am literally here right now typing. There are kids running up and down the hall screaming and knocking on doors all afternoon and evening. I called the front desk twice to do something about it and literally had to go ask them to keep it down, myself. Seems nobody is listening. They keep screaming and being loud. My stay has been perfect until this evening. They just checked in and Im hoping they leave soon. The hallways arent meant to be a kids playground because parents dont want to deal with them.

2022-02-15We came as part of the stay and play for the big hockey tournament that the hotel signed up to be a part of. Yet, knowing they have over 50 young boys staying from around 8-12 years old they were not accommodating at all to the teams. They doubled the cost of our rooms for the tournament and then wouldnt open the arcade and the lounge was closed. Permission was given for the kids to have team meetings and pizza in the lounge area, but then the owner showed up and tried to kick them out. Just sad that they signed up to be a part of the hockey tournament stay and play yet did not want to accommodate the families with lots of hockey playing kids. And to the lady who left a recent review about kids running up and down the halls and knocking on doors and such - they should have told you there were hockey tournaments going on and to expect this....they didnt even tell you that during your review feedback. We wont be going back there.I dont know how to respond to the Radissons response - but it did nothing but give me a canned response. No explanation as to why the hotel would sign up to be a part of this stay and play and yet not be accommodating at all to the team and the families. No explanation on raising the rates, closing the arcade, not making the lounge area available...and not telling your other guests that arent a part of the hockey tournament that it was going on. Bad response Radisson. You should do better.
