First time going here, been wanting to several times n and finally got the chance to. Paid for the imax to see uncharted. I was expecting way better seating then what there was. There was nothing special about imax it was very disappointing to me. Wont go to this theater again.
I wouldn’t recommend this theater and I won’t be going back.I went to see My neighbor Totoro and the movie was supposed to start at 7. At 7:30 they still hadn’t even started the previews. I went to the ticket collector in the lobby and asked him to get someone to start the movie. The ads started and the same roll played over and over. I then went back out and asked for a refund as it was an hour past the start time and the movie had yet to start. The manager sent several employees to fix the issue and was rude to me. I didn’t get a refund, but I did finally get to see the movie. This was the second time I went to this theater. The first time I went was six months ago. The lights were left on even after the movie had started. I had to go and get someone to turn the lights off for us to be able to see the screen. At $16 a ticket I’d like to be able to just sit through a movie.
Beyond impressed with the customer service. Spoke with a young man named Justin on the phone he and Sadie went above and beyond , excellent customer service well spoken polite and kind. I wish there were more people like Justin and Sadie working in the retail customer service business ! My kids and I go to the movies all the time and he was so helpful this is the only theater that I will go to from here on in! Give this guy a raise and a promotion !!
Popcorn was good, drinks were huge! Seats are a little small and pretty uncomfortable. As a more curvy woman they were a little difficult to get adjusted to, and even had a group in the back say (about themselves) man these are not heavy people friendlyWould of definitely been nicer with better seating but overall not bad, we got to the theater early and our theater wasnt ready yet. The ticker taker was Very nice about it and welcoming with a smile, letting us know our theater will be ready shortly.
They do not serve Blu Slushies :(The concession stand workers seemed like they didnt want to be there and said they were out of pretzel bites, I assume because they were too lazy to make them and not because they were actuallyout of them. Also the seats are very small and cramped, somehow the dingy theater in my home town has more comfortable seats. The screen was really nice though.
Whatever you do, avoid going into theater 11. The projection was unnecessarily dim. I understand that movie theaters will try and extend the life of their bulbs (which can be very expensive), but Im trying to see a very colorful film (Eternals) on opening weekend and the daytime scenes looked like they were filmed at dusk, and all the nighttime scenes were so dark that I couldnt make out the actors facial expressions. I popped into the 3D screening of the same film and it was MUCH brighter. Theater 11 really diminished the experience.
Great deal at Regal on Tuesdays any movie anytime less than $6The theater is running on shoe strings so you have to get your ticket at the concession stand and there are lines at the concession stand. You can get tickets at a kiosk however it does not give you the discounted price
Great movie theatre. They are still recovering from the pandemic. They have gotten rid of ticket counters and replaced with kiosk which worked great. They have a lot of screens and they screen movies from all cultures. I visited to watch a Bollywood movie. The screening was good. They also maintain social distancing when picking seats. They dont have the food stall on the 2nd floor open so make sure you grab popcorn and soda before you go up.
I initially gave this theater a good review, but since then this theater has gone down hill. The concessions are over priced and not very appealing. The service is poor at the very least. The escalators are most of my visits are not working, and many uncomfortable broken seats, dirty and the odor in some of the theaters is atrocious.
I went to go see candy man last night which is a rated R movie. I went up to the desk and started speaking to the cashier. He was super nice and friendly. There was a guy next to him who I assume to be the manager. I had ordered my ticket and all my snacks. Then before I paid the manager asked to see both of our Id’s which I agreed to with a little resistance. I showed him my drivers license which proves that I am 18. However my friend being from the city does not have a drivers license. I tried to bargain showing that we had our SUNY Albany Id’s but he didn’t budge. I looked it up and the state laws state that you can provide a picture of a state ID. We then got his mom to send a picture of his passport. Now thinking we were good to go I went to the counter again. This time it was another worker and she was also very friendly and helpful. I asked her knowing it was ok if we had a picture of his passport. She then had to ask her manager which I understand she’s not trying to get in trouble for me. He then responded with a quick and snarky “no”. Now I knew he just didn’t want to let us in for the sake of being rude and unhelpful. I find it strange that a manger of a department does not want more profit and customers. I wish I could remember the name of the manager but he had short brown hair with a patchy beard and higher toned voice. I am usually not one to leave a bad review but this was honestly the worst customer service I have ever gotten. Looking at the other reviews it seems I’m not the only one.
This regal location is pretty great. Not too many people go here during the week so its not crowded and the ticket prices are fair. Have started going back here a lot since they opened back up last month. Only drawback I would say is the food and drink prices at the concessions are a little high (be prepared to pay at least $8 for popcorn), but I assume thats normal for most cinemas nowadays after being forced to be closed for so long.
Pretty much what you would expect in a pandemic. Seating was limited, but I went to a matinee, so there were only about 6 people in the theater. Unfortunately, one of them was a child who laughed a lot during the movie, which was The Quiet Place II, not really a movie you usually hear laughter during.
Everything was good besides the fact that my movie started about 20mins late plus previews so that was about 30 mins late. Someone had to go tell management and they had to start the movie manually. I mean someone should be checking because theaters are not busy at all right now.
Im a regal pass holder its close to.home. This is the only Regal they have a problem with Drink refills first problem.they tried to say it was virus policy and were rudeeehmmmm funny i go 20 min up the road its no big deal to get a refillwent to crossgates last night again rude all the nozzles are offf no refill on my drink
Great theater, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable seating. My only problem was the temperature in the theater itself. Usually its comfortable or maybe even slightly cool but on my recent trip there it was humid and just too warm and there were maybe only 10 others in there so it wasnt due to crowds.
I dont go to the movies very often. The whole contemporary movie experience is mind boggling! From the picture to the sound. And the theaters themselves are so updated and comfortable. It was a lot of fun seeing the Star Wars movie on an IMAX screen. And since Im a boomer seeing the original 42 years ago, it was extra special.
I went to watch a movie with a few of my friends and to enter they check your tickets and i was walking in with my friend and he had been carrying my other friends bag while walking through after our ticket was checked the worker had asked to check in all of his bags. and i walked by him without a problem and had said to him “ do you need to check my bag as well” and he said “no your fine “. why would he have to check his bags and not mine? very unprofessional and disrespectful. not somewhere i have respect for anymore.
Less busy than Colonie due to their newer theater but the seats are not as nice, I had a guy kicking the back of my seat the whole movie, even after swapping seats with my husband, I could feel every little movement like there was no chair between his foot and my back. I understand theres assigned seats now, but there was 8 other people in the theater I dont believe anyone would have said anything if he moved, he came in a few minutes after the movie had started where as we were 20 minutes early.
30 minutes of ads and previews before the movie starts is way too much! The movie was scheduled to start on the hour, and it really started at half past the hour. Its not nice to intentionally mislead your customers. Most of the movie previews did not fit with the movie about to be shown. The ads were blatant promotions. To top it off: just before the movie is about to start, they show an ad for the concession stand. Now, they want me to leave the theater and miss the beginning of the movie!?!Id be OK with 10 minutes of previews that fit the audience prior to the show starting; give someone late a chance to see the beginning of the movie. But, 30 minutes of ads is too much. This is more than you get watching TV!The ads create a horrible customer experience. It appears that the suits (executives focused on next quarters earnings) do not understand customer retention and repeat sales. I know I am not coming back to the Regal Crossgates & IMAX.
Let’s just say I watch a LOT of movies and I go to this theater a LOT. Pretty sure I went 4 times last week (given there’s a lot of good movies out right now) But I go to the theater enough to know the difference and this is a solid theater! I haven’t had any bad experiences, only good. My only complaint is that the seats are a little stiff haha but it is a movie theater so I can’t ask for too much. I enjoy this movie theater and would recommend it to any movie goer.9/10
I normally do not write negative reviews because I dont like complaining. But, I went to this theater on Sunday evening. First of all, the times for the movies were all wrong, and that could confuse people. The movie I went to see was for 7pm, but when ordering tickets it said 7:20pm. Even though the movie did play at 7pm.Another complaint is that the theater room I was in was viewing the wrong movie on the slide outside of the door. I was going to see Priceless, for 7pm, and the # I had on my ticket was 17. I went to 17 and it said it was playing another movie for another time. Weird! And during the movie, it wasnt loud enough! I have never been to a movie theater where the movie wasnt loud enough! It was no different than watching a movie at home on my couch. (Which, it should be because Im paying for it!)My last complaint is the unfriendliness of the people working there. I was very polite and expressed thanks when ordering at the concession stand. But there was no smile or reply in return.I was questioning why this theater is rated only 3 stars... And now that I went, I finally see why. Unfortunately this was the only local theater that was playing the movie Ive been waiting to see.Definitely not worth the $13 I spent.
The movies and theaters are nice. The food is very overpriced. Over $5 for a hot dog and it comes burnt and shriveled. The food is never ready so after paying and wanting to go into my movie I spend 10-15 minutes standing and waiting. They need to consider preparing food ahead of time and keeping it warm... Also having more than 2 people working the concession on a Sunday afternoon would be nice. Its a great place to go if you want to see a movie and skip the concession stand.
This was our first time at this theater and usually Regals are great! This location is in a fairly big mall and has a lot of screens which is nice. The seats in our theater however, were so uncomfortable. We went to see How To Train Your Dragon 3 which isnt that long of a movie and we were all antsy to get up. The sound was extremely quiet as well. Im not sure if its because its a kids movie but at times it was actually a little hard to hear over other patrons making normal movie noise like eating pop corn and candy.Next time well drive to the Queensbury location at the Aviation Mall. They have the reclining seats and the sound is much better.
The manager was polite and professional and refunded my money in full.Over the past five years the behavior of the patrons has become more and more disruptive. Ive had enough of it.With movie theaters losing revenue to streaming services, you would think theyd want to provide a top tier experience for their guests.Ive had enough of how horrifyingly bad this theater is and this is the second time in two years that I had to leave a movie. If someone from corporate /ownership reads this, you should have a really serious conversation with whoever runs the day to day about fixing these problems. Its unbearable and I wont be spending my money here anymore.
Quality of movie theatre is perfectly fine. The patrons are not. Blessed by the presence of some sexist idiots commenting loudly and drinking in the theatre from a flask on a Tuesday night. And someone had a kid who also talked through the whole movie... Probably wont be going back.
I used to love going here but theyve started assigning seats which made it impossible to find a spot away from everyone in a almost empty movie theater.Ended up sitting next to a group who was non-stop talking throughout the entire movie who thought we couldnt understand Spanish. In front of us someone was ALSO talking and on the other side someone kept looking at their phone which would light up the theater.Easily could have been avoided if we were allowed to switch seats. I understand why they would enforce such a thing but now every customer is complaining about others talking and not being able to move away from them. The prices of the popcorn and the sodas were always outrageous, encouraging people to sneak food in and leave their garbage everywhere. Two stars because John Wick was good.
The ushers absolutely do not do their jobs in monitoring excessive noise in the theaters. Dont expect anything to be done about other patrons being loud or disruptive during a film. Management was rude when I tried to bring this to attention and Regal customer service was about as helpful as talking to a brick wall would have been. I will never be returning to this location.
I guess a regular film theater. Nothing fancy. I havent actually had the IMAX experience here yet, so cant comment. Sound and visuals are well enough, no problems there.I took away a star (Id do this to all Regal locations in Capital region) because it doesnt have any special pricing day like half-price Tuesday or anything else like many other Regal locations. Also the unlimited pass still costs the maximum amount in this location, so thats another negative.
We just watched Avengers Infinity War about a week ago which was fantastic, and we do always enjoy getting popcorn. Because this is a central movie theater location for the Capital District, getting early to newer movies is HIGHLY recommended. I had also left something in the theater and the staff were kind enough to let me back in and allow me to look, so S/O to the staff. Anyway, good location, and good staff.
Overall, the theater gets the job done if you are going to Crossgates to do some shopping and on a whim you just want to see a movie. This theater should not be anyones first choice to go see a movie as Colonie and Clifton Park have much nicer theaters.I normally dont write reviews but something happened during my last visit that didnt sit well with me. During my last visit, I went and saw the movie Parasite. The only reason I chose this theater was because they were the only one in the area playing this movie. Im sitting there enjoying the movie and about half way to 3 quarters of the way into the movie, I could hear the movie playing next door clear as day! It was really distracting and it honestly ruined some of the scenes during the movie. Imagine during a quiet and tense scene during the movie you hear the loud musical number in whatever movie that is playing next door. That is basically what happened. So I get out of the movie and it turns out all the doors were open to all the movie theaters! Huh? Ive been to several theaters and I have never seen this before. Explains why I could hear the movie so well next door. Also, the other reviews arent kidding about the bathrooms. Ive seen gas station bathrooms in cleaner condition than this. Disgraceful. So, unless youre shopping at Crossgates or in my case the movie you want to see is playing at this theater and this theater only, avoid this theater.
Its a movie theater with all the trappings. There isnt a whole lot to say. It doesnt really excel at anything but at the same time youre getting decent service for your dollar. The bathrooms are well-located and typically clean and I suppose thats a plus for this type of thing. Food prices are awful but thats the nature of the industry. Theres an arcade, Ive never used it but its there.I think more than anything else I get the impression that it has a lot of amenities I dont really appreciate having not been to a theater without them but the moment I go to a theater without them the difference will become immediately clear? All and all not a bad place to catch the latest flicks.
My favorite theater in the area. Comfortable stadium seating in all theaters with a wide range of theater sizes accommodating everything from blockbuster films to independent films to foreign films, making it especially great around awards season as almost everything comes through for at least a week. Yes, prices are a bit ridiculous, but that seems to be the industry norm, and not the fault of the theater. Side note: the IMAX theater is a bit cramped, so those with experiences in other IMAX theaters may not like it, but I still view it as a positive as it is the only one IMAX option in the area.
Really needs to revamp their seating and screens. Audio is OK, but some of the theaters need that redone too (due to popping sounds, etc). With Colonie Center being so close and its theater being much better, this location really needs to improve itself to compete. On an unrelated note, the pricing is so high now for a ticket. Not really happy with that, but the rating has nothing to do with that note anyway.
Great place to catch a movie. Seats are OK. Sound system seems OK. It was clean and the restrooms were nice, clean, and remodeled. Only reason Im giving 4 stars vs 5 is that they have a second concession stand upstairs but its always closed. So make sure you get all your goodies before entering, especially if your movie is upstairs.
I had to chuckle when I read David Hamans critical review of this theater. It is a sad state of affairs when an adult cannot walk from Point A to Point B without having to stop for a break along the way. Absolutely pathetic. As for the theater itself, I have never had a bad experience here. I recently purchased the Regal Unlimited Card and it is so nice to walk past the ticket booth and/or kiosks and go directly to the ticket taker who then scans my iPhone. I like the assigned seating but have to wonder if this will eventually lead to seating based pricing.
Went to see Toy Story 4 the night it came out at 7:45pm here. My tickets that I brought did not register for some reason so I had to go over to guest services and speak to a manager about it. The problem was that I had tried to enter it on the Regal app and it denied my request and invalidated my tickets. I explained this to the manager and she told me I better not be lying... I felt very offended by that statement. I had tried for 30 minutes on the app to find a phone number I could call but there was only an email option. So I kept on trying different things, I ended up spending 36,000 points by accident and having to go to the theater just to get my tickets. It seems like a really bad system to me, but sadly that was not the only bad system they had in place. When I went to get popcorn 15 minutes before the movie started I had seven people cut infront of me and every single staff member working the counter including the manager saw this happen and was fine with it. Once I got to the counter and ordered my large popcorn I had to wait even longer because the manager decided to overfill my already full popcorn before giving it to me which made it spill on me every time I took a step. When I finally got to my seat the movie had already started. On top of all of this not a single worker smiled and the manager had the worst frown of all. Now on to the physical aspects of this theater. When you first show up you cannot read what movies are playing due to how old their screens are. It is clean for the most part, it is a movie theater... Everything is very outdated especially for regal which had just went through a transformation. The seats in the theaters are incredibly uncomfortable and stiff, they have a small concession stand on the second floor which would be very usefull but I have never seen it open and ive been going to that theater ever since the had the original Finding Nemo. They lack security and security cameras in the theaters. I would highly advise going anywhere else to watch a movie unless you do not care about anything I have listed above.
Havent been to this theater in quite some time. Was unfortunately the only one that worked out time wise with our dinner reservation. Kids working behind counter were not motivated to be there. Garbages were overflowing throughout. From entering all the way through to our theater before and after the 3 hour movie! Kids scanning tickets were unorganized and not very informative. The seats have seen way better days. I will continue to use colonie center over crossgates from now on.
While the Staff was very nice and have no issues with any person involved with my recent visit to the Cine 18, I have a HUGE complaint with the Handicap seating! I too my Mother who is in a wheelchair to see Hotel Transylvania and the placement of the handicap seats what so close tho the screen that we both had neck-aches from looking straight up in the air! The seats for the people sitting with their handicapped parties are stiff and uncomfortable. I will not be returning to this theater unless this is corrected. Handicapped people pay the same price for tickets and they have to suffer and end up in pain for what should be a fun entertainment experience. Colonie Center handicap seating is way better so I know that simple comfort for your special needs guests is possible and done well by your own chain of theaters!
Avoid this theater at all costs if you have small children. Why? Because you will end up taking them to the restroom and it will disgust you. I don’t know what Mark A “local guide” is talking about. The men’s restroom literally smelled of rancid urine. There was urine in the urinals, on the floor, on the toilet seats, and god knows where else. No changing tables in restrooms either so good luck trying to juggle your kid and get them redressed without dunking them in the piss covered floor.I’ve never been so repulsed in my life. There’s no way that the odor of that bathroom could possibly develop in a single day. It had to be days of neglect to get to that intensity of stank.I wish I was joking, but it was quite literally horrendous. No amount of hand washing can help forget the smell.Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. Also very pricey. $5.93 for a bottle of water.
My biggest compliant is that theres no flexibility with seats. You have to purchase them and you can only sit in that one spot, regardless of whether or not theres seats elsewhere that may be more preferable. Other than that, helpful & polite staff, good popcorn, as well as good movies.
Went to see the room Wednesday night. I was incredibly excited. Halfway through the showing the manager stopped the showing to address everyone in the auditorium. He threatened everyone and after pausing the showing he couldn’t get the movie started at the point he left off. After waiting 10 minutes I left. The arrogant manager completely ruined what was an incredible movie. No refund offered. Regal should fire this lunatic and replace him with someone who knows about customer service.
I am 17 and a half years old. I was dying to see this new with my girlfriend. I bought a ticket no problem but when I got to the ticket ripping station, the manager was there too. I showed him my drivers license. In the photo, I have a beard. Since the photo, I have shaved. Being that I didnt look like the photo he wouldnt let me in. Not a great experience.
Good theater.. could use a seating upgrade. I love the volume of screens they have, you can practically see the weeks new hit releases playing in 15 to 20 min intervals. Place is clean, great staff. The only thing it lags behind on is seating. Nothing bad with the seats but not up to the standards set by all the other Reagal Cinemas in the area. I personally think this cinema would be a great candidate to introduce the new reclining seats that are not yet available in the capital district but offered at their newest cinemas just north of the area.Lastly, I must say it is the only licensed IMAX theater in the area. While the IMAX experience is great, just a couple of miles away you could go to their RPX theater which has a comparable viewing and sound experience yet is $5 cheaper and has much more comfortable modern seats.(The $5 IMAX premium is not a big deal but again the seating is second rate compared to RPX.)All that being said, Ill be going back next week like clockwork to enjoy next weeks new releases..
I find the concession servers seem bored, Managers could do a more leading from the front and reward great service better. Prices are high, as most theaters these days, but the movies selection at this theater is always excellent, cleanliness is good and the popcorn is better than other big name theater chains in the area so this is my go to theater for new movies.
Great employees, especially the little girl with all the jewerly at the ticket counter. Others wete very helpful. Sound and picture were great. Consession stand very pricey, especially box of candy $4.99 I can get the same for a $1. at the $ store or $1.59 at the market. Soda and H2O high. Small pizza awful high. Guess everything high. Bring ur own. Seats not comfortable.
Yesterday I took my family to watch Aladdin a movie that is for kids. I have a 3 year old, a 6 year old that is special needs and my 11 yeard old. We had promised our kids to go to the movies and we took the day for that. In the theater other kids where also making noise as usual kids do that my 6 year old was being her normal self as a special needs child she wants to be on the move and my 3 year old would stand up, however we sat at the bottom of the theater and we where the only ones there at the bottom seats. Almost at the middle of the movie the manager came and kicked us out of the movie that is for kids. We feel so disappointed with the treatment we received. I will single handedly make a report to the better business bureau and will spread all across all social media platforms of the type of treatment a family with a special needs child is treated. This was total discrimination.
Great experience. The easiest thing is get your tickets by Regal app, skip the line and earn points. You may use your points in getting free standard ticket or discounted IMAX tickets, or even spend them at the concession for popcorn or soda. Regal theater is the first one who gets the new movies in time. You will watch the movie before anyone in the world, no kidding.
Due to assigned seating I just had to sit next to someone who rudely was elbowed nonstop. The person was getting peanut butter all over the place ( major allergen) and people were hollering in the middle of the movie. When brought to managements attention they did not care, basically saying it sucks to be you!
Good place to see movies. Like most other venues, the snacks are a bit overpriced. Lines were not long. Only hang up I have is the supposed IMAX, this theater is not IMAX. It may have IMAX surround sound systems, but they are regular viewing screens. So to pay extra money for an IMAX experience, I would suggest saving your money and go to a regular showing.
Theaters need an upgrade considering the other theaters in the area. Old seats, escalators dont work and its kind of expensive. Just went tonight: 2 movie tickets, one large drink, medium popcorn and nachos = @ $55. And assigned seating sucks, but that seems to be the way all theaters are moving, so that part is more of a general statement.
Wanted to call the theatre to be provided clarity on the comfort of their seating. I have been exposed to ultra comfortability at other local theatres. No one answered my imminent phone calls regarding my needs. You do have better showtimes compared to other establishments. Ill see yall at 8 anyways, i hope my butts comfortable :)
Great theatre for the selection (Flashback Cinema, caught a RWBY premier) and the number of theatres they have is great for opening night. Little pricy for a regular movie, but if I want to see a premier or really enjoy a movie - happy to go here to see it again. They now have the thing where you have to pick your seats for the movie.
Movie stopped half way through. Waited 25 min before a cinema employee explained that it could not be fixed. Manager promised everyone coupons to use, explaining they can be used for any screening, imax, 3D etc. not the case. Should have read the fine print on the coupon before leaving.
There was nothing to enjoy about this theatre it was over priced for the movie and the popcorn itself. Not only the price but the movie environment was loud and out of control. Once the movie began I couldnt hear anything due to everyone talking. I could have easily went to spectrum theatre in Albany and had a much more enjoyable time for a better price.
If you are a senior citizen like I am, you wont be getting any of the discounts that they promote on their website. Same for the refreshments I paid $18.00 for two sodas and a popcorn. Yup. I said $18.00.The movie screen was way too big for the room. I had to climb all the way up to the back in the dark. Not a good place for seniors.Never again.
This theater used to be the crown jewel of Regal, but now its showing its age. Feels post-apocalyptic riding the escalator alone and passing the sad, unmanned upper snack bar. Staff seem to smell the musty odors of stale corporate fare, as they seem anxious yet apathetic as they shovel warm corn into a sack and add on a bucket of soda. A big plus, they serve Coke Zero. What management needs to do is renovate the lower section into a theater on par with Colonie, and convert the upper level into the new premium theater experience where you sit in a powered recliner, and if you press a button, a waiter brings you chicken fingers and a beer. Every major city in the South and Midwest has this now. If St Louis and Columbia can have this, why not us fine folk here in Albany? Regal should retool and shake up the theatre world, making a theater worthy of Dave and Busters and Lucky Strike down the way.
This regal is extremely out of date. The seats are very small and at least 10 years old. the arm rests are fixed on place as well as the seat backs. the theater smells old and dingy. the escalator is broken. I take the stairs up to the second level rather than the elevator which seems like a death trap. This will be the last time I come here until it is updated.
Pricey ,rude and very careless - don’t respond to my review as I was person to person with 3 management and spoke my opinion and all were careless to say anything.I hope you guys soon go out of business and that would be for wanting to charge for a 5 year old to attend a movie w/ his parents all you guys are is big money making machine - it’s sicking , honestly. Let’s not even go to there ,cost of your concession stand with week old popcorn, for $25.00.Great way to ruin peoples entertainment . That fact go out of business thanks . I’ll pray on it.
They have a lot of food options here at their concession stand but their upstairs concession stand is always closed when i come. Having 18 theaters with an imax screen being in theater 1 makes it able to accommodate all the latest hollywood movies in all video formats. Theres always a great movie to see or 2 or 3, never disappointed here!
I felt totally uncomfortable by the creepy security guard who starred me down while i was in line..my husband confronted him later only for him to say he didnt know what he was talking about..they were going to review the tapes..and then what?? Not to mention it was really loud in our movie..$50 for 4 people is alot of money to spend with all this nonsense going on..
Imagine, you are gong with 4 of your friends to go watch It chapter 2, youve waited 2 years to see the movie and we went all the way to Cross-Gates to see the movie but you know, their policy regarding a I.D proof for your age being 17 is absolute garbage, we had pictures of our I.Ds on our phone and I quote they said its a picture yes it was a picture of my flipping I.D. Seems legit right. All the workers there were extremely incompetent and they all said something different about the rules and we had a 21-year-old with us and the one woman at the ticket booth said he could only get one of us in. Glad I had to drive all the way to Cross-Gates to just do nothing the whole time because a picture of my I.D is a picture and isnt legit apparently. Thanks Regal for really ruining a day out with my girlfriend and my friends.
Saw Star Wars (standard showing, theater 13?) and the screen was FILTHY. All the bright scenes you could make out lines of dirt and the very upper right corner looked like the screen was even damaged a little. You really dont make enough on the ticket sales to afford a swiffer and a long pole? B.S.The mediocrity of the actual movies and annoyances of the movie going experience have driven me into my home over the years. Thank god for cheap, large screen LED television and affordable surround home theaters. The movie industry is dying by their own hand.
There was a group of women next to my family and they were extremely loud. It was September 30th and we went to the 10:10 showing of IT. They were loud the entire time. In the beginng of the movie, I notified security in the beginning of the movie and they were already aware of the group and came in to check on them. They said nothing to them and the group continued to be obnoxiously loud as well as using their cellphones throughout the entire movie. It was a horrible experience and my family and I will not be returning.
Went to see star wars. Bought tickets ahead of time and went up to the entrance. Asked a manager, (shirt and tie) where the line was for our showing. He yelled at me and my friends to move and dismissed us immediately, not answering our question. Ruined the experience. We wont be going back.
The reason said 3 was because i have a regal card and i no longer get free movies it seems only popcorn or soda. And they never monitor the theatre crowd. They are loud..kick seats and the noise level of movie last time going to see power rangers was way off..up n down. Terrible
I attended a special event showing for Rob Zombies 3 From Hell to include a promotional movie poster and was rudely denied the poster. The theater was not even sold out and 3 of us were told there were no posters available. Not to mention the 30bucks each we paid just for some munchies..a soda..and the event tickets. Not a great way to represent any movie makers opening event. Regals not so regal!
20 minute wait for a bottle of water and a stale popcorn caused me to miss the start of the movie. My friend was harassed by a customer who came late, while I was at concessions, who demanded he and his kids be allowed to sit in the 4 seats that we occupied two of because his original seats were taken by others. No measures were taken by the employee who was right there. Wont be returning.
This cinemas stadium seating is terrible for wheelchair users or anyone who cannot climb stairs. theyre relegated to the front, floor level, and you still cannot get s seat in the center because thats where the walkway and stairs are located. there are a couple theaters with seating at the top, but wheelchair users are relegated to the back corner - a terrible angle to watch movies even when the rest of the theater is unoccupied. the regal theaters in Colonie Center are much newer and more thoughtfully designed. concessions and staff are the same in both locations. the IMax screen is small by imax standards and a complete waste of money. the RPX theaters in Colonie and Clifton Park are more luxurious and more worthy of the upcharge (not that any are actually worth an upcharge).
As a movie theater, seats are mostly comfortable, watching experience is good, but I still find it hard to support these big theaters when I keep seeing candy, popcorn, and beverages costing in the ranges of 15-20$ and more, its just not right, never has been, never will be.
I bought a ticket to see an r-rated movie and when I went to the admissions the man wouldnt let me and my underaged friends to an 18+ movie!!! What a monster! And before that when I went to buy food the lady charged me $12.18 so I gave her $12...and she told me she couldnt sell me it because I was .18¢ short. I swear people only do there jobs these days. Its ridiculous!
Every week two or three foreign movies release in the crossgates. Sound output is so bad for these movies i.e., for indian movies (Hindi, Telugu and Tamil Languages) when compared to the Hollywood movies in the crossgates theaters. They need to do something about the sound settings depending upon the movie. These movies have lot of music and action sequences. Apart from sound everything is fine.
To make the most out of your experience do the following:1) Subscribe to MoviePass. You pay $9.95 per month for unlimited tickets. You can see 1 movie per day. It pays for itself with 1 movie ticket. There is no subscription length comittment.2) Get a Regal Crown Card. Combined with MoviePass you will very quickly rack up points which can be used for concession stand or movie tickets if you are going with other people.3) This can be applied to all theatres in the capital disctrict. Most theatres around the country.Concession stand is overpriced but thats everywhere. At least this way you wont be gouged on price tickets. Makes consistently going to the movies affordable again.
Went to eat at the mall and when I went to enter the movie with my leftovers they want you to place it in a smelly cabinet! When i said I didnt want to put it there I was told I could be refunded for my movie ticket and not enter at all!! Very disrespectful and unsanitary. Workers were extremely rude!
Regal cinema is easily found in crossgates mall w ample parking and all the most current shows! They have games in the lobby and the typical yummy popcorn and nacho and candy snacks. And once in a rare while they show unique shows like concerts live or updates Sci fi like Dr Who!

2022-03-28Been little over 2 years since I went to the movies. It was well worth it. The screen was big plus the sound system was great. Very clean inside the theater too. Seats are comfortable to sit in too. Watched a long movie and felt absolutely fine after sitting for the amount of time of the movie.

2022-02-21This theater is seriously outdated. The chairs don’t recline. It’s like visiting your grandmas house and sitting on plastic furniture. We specifically wanted to see a movie in the IMAX theater and purchased the tickets accordingly online. We went to the website, chose IMAX from the drop down, selected the movie we wanted and purchased the tickets (including the “convenience” fee. Sadly, the theater was definitely not IMAX and the movie just a standard movie. How unfortunate.

2022-03-24Saw The Batman in the IMAX theater. Loved the experience, and that place is clean? Wish concessions were more realistically priced, but that aint gonna happen. Always a great time at Crossgates movies! 👍👍

2022-05-23My Husband and I most recently went to see Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness and from the ticket taker to the concession stand worker, all of our interactions were pleasant. The theater was clean and not too crowded which We tend to prefer! See you soon for Buzz LightYear

2022-07-04The movie and theater was great. Staff was courteous. Obviously food and drink items were overpriced and they should offer a Military Discount without a doubt. We served our Country and now we get discounts at public buisness!!!!

2022-06-16I went to a Batman movie several years ago here. I definitely wanted the Imax experience. Im a little hard of hearing and LOVE the BOOM of a pirates cannon, but this Batman movie was SO LOUD THROUGHOUT, I vowed I would never watch another movie here again. Now Id like to see Jurassic World on I Max, but I fear the same experience again.

2022-06-19Comfortable seats, great movies, good popcorn, courteous customer service. Be prepared for long lines though, so get there 30-40 before the movie.

2021-12-30The Screen X theater here isnt worth the price premium. The side screens are nice but theyre only used in parts of the movie and the use of them is quirky for the most part. A few scenes benefit, but not many. And then chairs in the Screen X theater are exceedingly dated. I think theyre the same chairs that were installed when the theater was first built decades also. The seams are ripping and they dont recline at all. Id rather pay the lower standard price and get better chairs. I cant speak for the other theaters. Id presume theyre better. The employees are very friendly here, so thats a major plus.

2022-01-12I love movies. I love going to the theater. To be fair, youd have to do something really atrocious for me to not like it.Sound quality is always great, picture (particularly IMAX) is always great. The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is their checking for people in their phones is less than stellar and once or twice the popcorn was not as fresh as Id like it to be.
